The Robert Brady Museum in Cuernavaca is a fascinating destination that showcases a private collection of remarkable art, historical objects, and decor from various parts of the world. The museum is housed in an iconic structure called Casa de la Torre, which was once the home of American artist and collector Robert Brady. Visitors can appreciate the exquisite taste and rich cultural heritage of one individual as they admire the beautiful artifacts on display.

A another pint-sized, but mighty museum of Cuernavaca- The Robert Brady Museum houses Robert Brady’s enormous collection of art in a restored 16th century monastery. The collection includes an original Frida Kahlo self-portrait with a monkey and a Marsden Hartley painting of Popocatépetl.

Worthwhile place to visit with a interesting collection of art and artifacts. Nice home and gardens, but staff were not very friendly. I asked about the house but was told to look online.

Basically a walk through someone’s nice house, except he was an obsessive collector, with a Western Gaze and had a lust for things “exotic” and had the privilege and financial means to travel extensively and amass a great collection and build a nice house where he invited a lot of people who valued this kind of social currency. The place offers an intimate look at the space that eccentric Robert Brady inhabited + what a way to get a close up and wonder about the motivations he had and wonder about his life. Check it out and come see bathrooms and beds and a well-stocked kitchen and even more—a pool that no one uses anymore! He’d totally be sad about that. Dive in! It’s not just a dare, it’s a double dare!

It was 30 pesos to get in. It’s pretty cool to see his collections of art he bought and got over time in his life. His house is pretty big so each room have plenty to see and there’s still other places in the house that are not accessible so you’ll spend at least 30 minutes or more going through the house and looking at Robert’s collections. Definitely not kids friendly just for family, friends, couple to go enjoy.

Nice place to go for a walk. Unfortunately, the fountains weren't on. I was told that there used to be events held here to pay for upkeep so now the fountains are only on during the rainy season. At the time of my visit, there was an art exhibit for feminism and I saw some of the artworks as very unusual.

Hermoso sitio que data de la época virreinal, alrededor del siglo XVIII. En su momento fue la casa de descanso del emperador Maximiliano y su esposa Carlota.

The Museum Regional Cuauhnáhuac, also known as Palacio de Cortés, is a popular attraction that showcases the fascinating history and culture of the local population. This historic museum used to be the residence of a famous conquistador and now houses murals painted by Diego Rivera. The Catedral de Cuernavaca is a Catholic church with a historic mural depicting the martyrdom of Philip of Jesus, Mexico's first saint. The cathedral contains paintings from as early as 1520 and boasts stunning stained glass windows that cast a rainbow of colors on the walls during the afternoon. It is an interesting and historically significant site, making it worth at least a 15-20 minute visit. Visitors can also enjoy the cafe located on site.
Great place with beautiful view and amazing cathedral to visit
nataniel marcial — Google review
There are two churches in the same complex. One is the cathedral and the other one is just a church. The big structure is the Cathedral, and it used to be a grain deposit before it was converted into a cathedral. It is significant because of the very old paintings on the wall that have partially peeled off. I think, they depict the story of an evangelization sea mission. Cuernavaca, the city itself, is rather ugly. Only worth visiting the Cathedral if it is along your route.
Dario Margeli — Google review
Beautiful architecture with much history. The hanging Jesus Christ was breathtaking when first walking into the cathedral. I also checked out their museum and it contained wonder art and historical pieces including relics from the indigenous people found.
Erick Herrera — Google review
This isn't the actual cathedral, but a small church built just outside the monastery complex a few decades after the cathedral had been built in an impressively primitive romanesque style. This facade gives a good impression of the cross-fertilization of Spanish-Christian and Aztec decorative arts, while the cathedral itself is more basic and in keeping with the simplicity of the Franciscan missionaries who built it. There is a large, vaulted outdoor space where the indigenous people where taught (who apparently did not like to enter the enclosed space of a church).
Fairly recently (early 2000s?), original 16th-century frescoes were discovered and restored which depict sea-faring missionaries and Christian martyrdom in the Far East. Well worth a visit; wish I could've read up on this former monastery.

Highly recommend at least visiting.

Because recent earthquakes damaged the cathedral and other church buildings they are closed to the public. See the photo of the cracked church dome. They are great examples of Spanish colonial architecture from the late 1600's to early 1700's. You have to look at them from the outside. The courtyard is still a great place to see them and to stroll. And the church holds services outside in the courtyard on Sunday's.
B ES — Google review
Definitely a place to see in Cuernavaca. The Cathedral is part of series of buildings in a courtyard. There are vendors right outside the entrance along the street as well as within the courtyard as well but seemed most had some religious significance too. The two buildings that are at each corner closer to the entrance were not accessible when I visited, not sure if they are open to the public at all. Main Cathedral is beautiful. Outside is simple yet elegant, commands your attention once you walk past the tall trees, and statue in the courtyard. Inside was dark was beautifully decorated.

In all honesty, I expected a typical Colonial style church such as can be found all over Mexico. Instead, it was a walk back in time with stunning wall murals depicting life around the time of the conquest and amazing architecture. A definite must for anyone visiting Cuernavaca!
My 13 year old son and I attended ASLI for 2 weeks this summer. I cannot say enough good things. The staff was fantastic, they customized the week to our wants (mix of language classes (0-2 other students), excursions, cooking, crocheting, dancing). We lived with a Mexican family a few blocks from school and with it being full immersion we learned so much more in our time there. We want to go back!
Annie McDonnell — Google review
I went to this school over 12 years ago when I was in undergrad. And I still think about the positive experiences I had there. Prior to attending this school, I had taken 7 years of Spanish class in the U.S. education system. And my time here was the very first time Spanish actually clicked for me as a language. This was the first place where I could confidently put a sentence together in a conversation.
The teachers are amazing and very dedicated to their work. My host family was extraordinarily kind and provided amazing conversations, food, and accommodations. I even made friends in the city of Cuernavaca who I still talk to every once in a while. (However, most people in the program just stuck to socializing with other people in the program.)
I'm seriously considering coming back here as an adult to freshen up my Spanish. And I honestly think this is the best place to do it.

I just got back from studying at ASLI Spanish Language Institute for 3 week. I also did a homestay arranged by the school. I LOVED all of it. My teachers and host family were excellent. Everything was well-structured and very professional: I had 3 hours of grammar lessons and 3 hours of conversational practice a day at the school, and then the learning continued in the evening with activities like cooking classes, excursions, and conversation with my host family. I learned several university courses' worth of material in those intensive 3 weeks, and I had so much fun that time just flew by. One more thing, the food prepared by my host family was fantastic. So it was a great foodie experience too. :) I highly recommend ASLI!
Alison Lucas — Google review
I am a language professional in the U.S. myself. I was very impressed by the knowledge and professionalism of my ASLI teachers Rosalba and Susana. They were able to organize, present, and practice with me a great deal of material, in a way that stayed interesting and fun, despite the intensive immersion schedule. More than that though, by the end of my two-week stay, I truly felt personally close to both of my teachers, and to the other staff at ASLI with whom I had interacted. The super-hospitable welcome, and the sense of a genuine personal connection went way beyond what I was expecting from a two-week stay. I would recommend ASLI to anyone!
E. Danziger — Google review
The staff and teachers at SLI are so accommodating and patient. They know just which classes to place students into to maximize the language learning experience. Time is divided for building skills, practicing conversation and learning about the culture of Mexico and Cuernavaca. The families I've stayed with were also very accommodating and helpful. The rooms were very clean and private and the hostesses were GREAT cooks! I felt welcome, encouraged and learned so much in such a short time. Cuernavaca is a great city with a rich history and so many great things to experience!
Laura Bronk — Google review
I visited ASLI last year on a school trip from Oklahoma. It was educational, fun, safe, and overall my favorite experience I've had. The family I stayed with was friendly and fun. I hope to be back to learn more Spanish!

ASLI is fantastic. I have studied four foreign languages, two of them at the State Department's Foreign Service Institute. I went to ASLI for an immersion program to prepare for the FSI proficiency exam. Not only did I pass, I got a far higher score than I was expecting, thanks to the excellent teachers and home stay immersion program at ASLI. I found the teachers to be every bit as professional and experienced as the State Department instructors, and perhaps better. After the class, I continued studying with ASLI via Skype. Overall, it was a great experience, one that I have recommended to other foreign service colleagues and friends.

Ethnobotanical Garden and Museum of Traditional Medicine
The Ethnobotanical Garden and Museum of Traditional Medicine is a botanical haven that showcases an impressive assortment of medicinal flora. Within its premises, visitors can acquire knowledge about the various applications and advantages associated with each plant species. In addition to this, the museum provides insights into ancient healing practices that were prevalent in bygone eras. As a hub for learning about plants, it is hoped that adequate financial support from local authorities will enable the garden to expand its scope and generate economic benefits for sustainability.
We all need to know this garden to know more about plants... Let's hope the local government will give them enough money to make it bigger and create benefits from it to be economically sustained...

Beautiful and natural garden, quite large too so you can stroll around all the paths and sit on benches to take in the wonderful atmosphere. Lots of varieties of all kinds of trees and plants.
Could not give it 5 stars, as it lacks some maintenance. Many garden beds were partly empty or abandoned looking. The signs in the garden beds that indicate what herb or plant it is are very worn out and it is not possible to read them to learn what the plants are and what they are good for.
The museum was closed during our visit.
Overall, it has the potential to be a truly magical and rejuvenating space in the city. Hopefully, it gets the funding and care that it needs to be transformed to its full potential.

This 1 star review is for the parking lot. They take cash, but not all cash. Only bills $50 and below. But not all $50 and below, they don't except the newer ones bills, only older ones, but not too old, they have to be well preserved older bills. And they take credit cards, but not all credit cards, only Liverpool cards, yes Liverpool is only 1 store in the entire mall, but it's the only store the parking people seem to trust, not your bank. And if your parking ticket has been around your iPhone, or any magnet or metal, it will not work. I'm sure the technology was good for the 1980s....but in 2023, they could...no, they SHOULD do better.

Zona Arqueológica Teopanzolco is an ancient settlement dating back to the 13th century, situated on a sloping stone platform. There’s not much to see or learn here, it’s very limited. No access to the main monument, and I can’t believe they have installed rails and signs on top of it; complete disrespect to this ancient spiritual monument. They are also being uptight with the nonsensical disinfecting of feet and drying alcohol gel for hands on the way in. What is the point in vaccines when people carry on with this?? And since it’s during the dry season and the grass is too dried out and sharp to sit on. Look at it from the street and save yourself 85 pesos.

(Translated by Google) Very nice structure! We only went to a concert they were giving that day, we didn't tour the museum itself, but I loved what I could see! The function we went to, truly a delight! It's good that they offer this type of shows. Very good for this museum

Fórum Cuernavaca is a shopping hub that offers both indoor and outdoor options for brand-name stores, services, informal dining, and entertainment like movies. This lovely mall features diverse eateries in its food court such as sushi, pizza, and Mexican cuisine. Visitors can also enjoy the mini amusement park and go-karts on offer.
Lovely clean plaza. Lots of shops and restaurants. They have a food court as well with a tiny fair area. Family friend friendly. Underground parking and outdoor parking lot. Highly recommend coming here.

I liked this mall, it has almost everything, many clothing stores, shoes, sports, fun games and movies, and a good variety of fast food and restaurants!

Nice outdoors mall with many different stores and restaurants. They even have a mini amusement park and go karts. Food court has sushi, pizza, mexican food, and other options. There’s an illy, DQ, pretzel parlor, different ice cream shops. Parking is indoors and outdoors, 15 mxn for 2 hours. There’s security staff and the ambience is great. There’s a Cinemex. Overall a great place to grab a bite and do some shopping.

The security guards were a little ridiculous with their attempt at herding people, because of COVID-19. I can understand the precaution, but there is a line where it becomes absurd. Go there and see for yourself. ✌🏻🤪

Beautiful, modern shopping center! Very clean. Nice decorations. Large food court. Good bathrooms. Nice walking paths in the fresh air around the stores. Some benches to sit and relax. It even has a small amusement park, and attached gym.

This is more of a lifestyle and entertainment mall. Averanda and gallerias have clothing stores.

A very nice shopping mall with excellent merchandise/stores, its design resembles a mall in the United States with open spaces and great aisles to walk by. The restaurants are not very good and expensive, but the fast food court is good. Recommended from any point of view for your shopping needs.
