The Airlie Beach Lagoon is a man-made coastal pool that features lush sunning spots, sandy recreation areas and fashionable dining options. This synthetic oceanfront lagoon provides visitors with the perfect opportunity to relax under the sun, play in the sand or grab a bite to eat at one of its hip restaurants.
Beautiful walkway with lots of things to look at and read on the way from Cannonvale beach to Airlie Lagoon. Sculptures, restaurants, yacht club, stand up paddle boarding, kayaks and tour booking places. It's around 4klm long.

The picturesque Coral Sea Marina boasts a variety of outdoor bars and restaurants, as well as numerous cruise and diving operators. Situated near Airlie beach, visitors can take an enjoyable stroll to the marina and indulge in a delicious lunch at Kiosk cafe. For those seeking something more intimate, there's a charming eatery beyond the large trendy restaurant that's definitely worth checking out.
Great facilities and not overly expensive. Friendly staff.

Boathaven Beach is a serene and tranquil tourist attraction located on a small peninsula. The beach boasts soft and golden sands, with nets in place to protect the swimming zone from dangerous jellyfish during peak season. It is considered one of the best beaches in Airlie Beach, offering visitors peaceful surroundings and stunning views. The amenities nearby ensure that tourists have everything they need for a comfortable stay.
Relax and enjoy the views while having a peaceful time on a golden sands beach. With amenities close by you will have everything you need.

Nice quiet and clean beach with shingly sand. Stinger net in the sea not very busy.

Nice beach to sit and chill after lunch. There’s a few palms to sit in the shade but I’m sure will get busier in Summer. Braved swimming in the sea as they had some nets out. I preferred Boathaven beach to Airlie beach
Steph T — Google review
Stunning beach that is easy to walk to with soft sand, warm water and beautiful views.
Penny Eva — Google review
Beautiful spot for a swim. Nets set to avoid getting eaten by a shark. Be careful where you park your car. A parking could cost you over $300.00 !!!
Sue Rogers — Google review
Small beach with soft white sand. Unfortunately it’s jelly fish season so we could only swim in a little protected area. Still the best beach around Airlie beach
Leon Zhang — Google review
A really nice beach, we love setting up our bell tent picnics there - you get an amazing view of the azure coloured water, sail boats and the hills of Conway national park. Stinger nets are put up in the Summer months. The beach is never too crowded and there are toilets nearby.

It’s a small beach in Airlie. I couldn’t watch the sunset because the mountains cover it and I went again around mid day, more beautiful when the sun shining turn the ocean to a turquoise colour.
Helen Luu — Google review
Nice and quiet beach! Away from the crowds and still beautiful! Not much around but still not a far spots from the shops and the center of the town.. it’s even a decent easy walk from everything and a little car park around the back. May be just a little too low but still great for a dip!
Luis Alejandro Dalponte — Google review
This beautiful beach is a very scheduled place tucked away from all the noises and the busyness of the town. It's very safe and has a net to keep away the stingers. It is very clean and very tranquil.

Great little local beach. Enclosed area to swim which is great during jellyfish season. Limited shade so bring an umbrella.
Awesome location with a beautiful view. Lots of friendly stall owners with a wide range trinkets and some local cuisine. Dog friendly and wheel chair accessible. Make time to support the locals when your in town and if you have kids there's an excellent playground next to the markets.

Casual market on every Saturday morning right next to the beach. You can't ask for a more beautiful location. Good variety of stalls including handmade jewelry, food, fruit and veg. Well worth a visit.
Can be hot so definitely wear sunscreen

A great 30min market with stalls of clothes, food, craft, wood work, dog treats and kids toys. Massive playground next door for the kids.

What a lovely, vibrant, colourful marketplace! Full of beautifully crafted wares from home-made soaps and hand crafted jewellery to stone ware, clothes, and locally produced delicacies. All the vendors we spoke to were friendly, knowledgeable, and authentic.

Love browsing around the markets and having a chat. Buy fresh produce, have a coffee, occasionally I buy clothes or earrings for myself and there are great gift ideas. Now we have school holidays and the weather's cooling down, so it's more comfortable walking around.

There was a cruise ship in town so the market was open on a Thursday. Its a small little market with art & craft stores. Takes around 5 mins to see it all. Theres lot of souvineers, clothes, hats, toys tarot card readers and more. There was a mango sorbet & iced tea stall which were both popular on a super hot day. There were no other food stalls. There was also a tuk tuk service.

Lovely market near the beach, food drinks, clothes extra. Good atmosphere
Great hike, especially loved Swamp Bay with so much coral on the beach. So secluded and lots of wildlife! – birds, snakes, goannas, etc.
David McCabe — Google review
We walked early October with four kids (3x11y.o and one 10 y.o.).it was very dry when we did it, no water in the creeks. Recommend anti clockwise and finishing at the Bay. The track was very easy to follow and the assent not too difficult. A stop or two on the way up for the kids. We didn't see a lot of wildlife, a few goanna and a few birds. The beach is full of dead coral, which makes for great exploring and creativity.
Josse O'Connor — Google review
Quite a steep walk but well worth the views at the lookout. I recommend watching sunset as it’s very beautiful (we did this and camped at Swamp Bay)
Abby Edgson — Google review
I did the walk to swamp bay via the mount Rooper lookout. The lookout was pretty cool but the real star was the bay. Absolutely stunning. The beach is almost all coral and its so peaceful. I basically spent the whole afternoon there just reading and chilling out. Make sure to bring LOTS of water.Absolutely fantastic.
I went in march, so basically midsummer. There were so many beautiful butterflies, a few stick insects and extremely varied flora (many sections of the walk went from thick forest to dune like coastal plants). I wasnt bored for one second, although I was extremely sweaty. It was like I just stepped out of the shower when I finished the walk.
The walk can be accessed fairly easily by the 890 route towards Shute harbour. If you get it from the centre it costs $6 CASH for a return, airlie beach buses don’t take card. The buses in Airlie play music aswell which is cool.
Be careful of staying too long, once the sun starts going down the track can become pretty dark and the amount of bugs was crazy. I got eaten alive waiting for the bus at about 18:30.
Im not gonna put any pictures up because you can go see it urself, see how many different butterfly species you can find, I saw about 5. Some of which were stunning.
Overall one of my favourite spots in airlie, highly recommend!

About 7 km easy hike with magnificent views over the islands and forests. Also easy to add the swamp bay track to your route that takes you to a beach. Nice spot on top of the mountain to enjoy your snacks. No toilets or shades nearby this track though! Easy access with a bus from Airlie Beach.

Good walk , great views , well worth the walk to swamp bay
Rae Baxter — Google review
Great view on the Rooper circuit. Make sure to bring lots of water and sun protection; it's a very vertical trek.
Nice, easy walk along a small creek with lots of butterflies. The rock pools are small and there some spiders and insects along the way. Worth it for the different species of butterflies.

A walk to no where with no reward. Kids hated it
Robby Comfort — Google review
Nice walk up to the falls. Can be accomplished in thongs, but would recommend covered footwear. We encountered some muddy sections, but these were relatively easy to skirt. There are some rest points along the way for those, like us, who are young at heart but not so young of body😉The pool at the base of the falls is only small, but big enough to refresh yourself if the weather is hot and sticky.
Glennis Norris — Google review
A nice 30-40 minute hike close to Airlie Beach town centre. No beach views, but it's a good workout. There's a waterfall at the end of the track....but no water flowing when we were there in early October.

A walk that goes from easy to fairly rocky at the end. Peaceful bit with no views to reward for the effort to climb to the top.

Nice place with informative sign board before walk and along the track. You can always plan or prep your walk with your time and water body condition. They also provide you the level of track so won't worry much and this is good place to track your stamina :)
Absolutely second to none, Brook Miles’ awe inspiring photography adorns the walls of my Boathouse apartment, exuding luxury and style in the most casual, yet stunningly beautiful, way. I truly love every moment, living my life surrounded by these masterpieces of creativity, and appreciate endlessly Brooks amazing eye for the spectacular, be it sea creatures or landscape, that nature presents us. Brook gave her time for a personal tour of my apartment, advising on size and location as well organising framing for my selection of her artwork, and also my real estate photography for short term accommodation. I am forever in awe of Brookes abilities and talent.

Above and Below Gallery is located at Port Airlie and offers a great opportunity for travel souvenirs and presents based on wonderful photos of Great Barrier Reef nature, landscape and animals. The photos, Brooke takes herself, are awesome and we were flashed by the prospector print in brushed aluminium at the back wall of the gallery.
Brooke made everything possible to ship it safely to us to Europe and the handling (Payment, Production, Shipment, Insurance) was so easy. Brooke always kept us on track what was happening and the print arrived in really short time in Germany. We can really recommend to get those longterm memories from Airlie Beach / Great Barrier Reef. Just inform yourself upfront of customs and EU VAT for the imported products. Thanks so much, Brooke! :-)

I absolutely love my picture of The Prospector Turtle
I have him near a large glass door, every angle I see different colours and shapes and fish.
The morning sun shines through and it’s stunning. Later in the day it looks different again.
I thought awhile about buying it but have absolutely no regrets in doing so.
It’s magnificent.
Great martial arts gym! I was visiting for a short time and did a class there. Everyone was lovely and welcoming. I would definitely go back :)

A wonderfully supportive environment with professional coaches who work really hard to help their students. My daughter has found a group of friends (from a variety of schools in the catchment area) who she looks forward to seeing every week. She is learning a lot, and I'm grateful to her coach who is able to push her in ways that aren't effective when I try. She has great respect for her peers and coaches and I'm grateful for a safe training environment for her. Thank you.

Excellent setup. All the great elements you would need to have in a brewery that everyone wants to visit. Great choices of beers, being changed all the time. Outdoor and indoor seating and plenty of it. Thai food truck, the Singapore noodles were very nice. Fast service. Friendly staff, very helpful if you need a bit of advice. The Pineapple NEIPA is great, very tasty and strong with it.

A classic small brewery with a lovely outdoor drinking area and a great selection of beers to choose from. I enjoyed a hazy pale, a red IPA and oaked XPA and a Mexican stout. Great beers and reasonably priced. The tasting paddle was $16. It’s enough to make you go Ballistic!

Enjoyed a tasting paddle and a cracking plate of nachos from the food truck in residence. Seriously great value on both fronts.
The guys behind the bar were super keen for a chat and clearly loved what they did. Will 100% come back.

Wow, what an amazing experience! Sunny was so friendly, liam has so much knowledge of beer and I can’t remember the girls name (i think it’s Renee?) but she was also incredible. Love this place, highly recommend! Tasty beers, amazing atmosphere - also very dog friendly🤍

They have a great selection of beers to try and I would highly recommend a paddle to sample a few of them, plus the bar staff are friendly.
Great setup with plenty of seating inside and out, plus they had a food truck there as well which always works well with a beer or two.

Great beers check this place out!
Side note: watch out for the crazy guy in the building to the left as you face the brewery. He has a real issue with people parking in the public road in front of his shed. Weird. Took lots of photos of my car and another car and was drawing diagrams and taking notes 🤯
James Redgrove — Google review
Great selection of tap beers for any taste. Don't procrastinate with the tasting tray as the flavours change so much as the beers warm very quickly.
The food truck out the back does a lovely range of food with, I expect, something for everyone. The current operator is a nice chap to talk with.
Beautiful little quiet spot. High tide has water, low has sand and rocks; pick your poison. Looks unsafe but if you balance along the jetty, you'll be fine. Fishing seems to be hit or miss but fish are definitely around. Caught a couple brim. Seen whiting and a shark too.

Cute Jetty, ok to walk out on though there is a painted caution on it that's it's at your own risk... Tried to fish...very small cream only but nice spot with great view towards Airlie beach :)

Yep, a 3 plank jetty. Exactly as described and, as with any place in the Whitsunday's, pretty as a picture. The jetty is old and forlorn but stable enough to walk out and admire the view.
