Roys Peak Track is a challenging yet popular hiking trail in New Zealand, known for offering one of the most iconic viewpoints in the country. The track is beloved by photography enthusiasts for its breathtaking panoramic views of the Southern Alps from the summit. It's a must-visit destination for those seeking an exhilarating outdoor adventure and stunning natural beauty.
Wanaka Lavender Farm is a picturesque agricultural attraction situated high in the rolling hills of Wanaka. The 10 acre lavender fields are a popular sight, as are the farm animals (alpacas, sheep, goats and occasionally pigs) and the on-site honey bee hive. The gardens are also home to a cafe serving local food and drinks as well as honey, oil and soap products for sale.
This is the most beautiful farm, so much lavender, flowers, beautiful products, animals and Bees! So stunning, inviting and fun! Games to play and so many gardens to explore. Loved our time here. And the lavender and chocolate Ice cream was so delicious it was almost erotic! Gorgeous, affordable and a must visit!

Highly recommend a visit if you're staying in Wanaka. The grounds are beautifully laid out and even in the middle of winter, it was great to see the lavender bushes and many animals on site. The gift shop and tea room is lovely, and a good way to pause after wandering the gardens.
Plenty of parking and no need to purchase tickets before arriving (in winter).

When my wife suggested stopping at a lavender farm I wasn’t particularly enthused. But it was surprisingly beautiful and interesting. Kids will like it because there are some goats they can pet. The grounds and gardens are gorgeous. We were there in late November and the lavender was just beginning to bloom.

So beautiful!! The lavender is stunning but so are the other flowers on the property. They also have a cute little shop with a wide range of lavender products, honey, and ice cream. There are plenty of places outside to sit and enjoy the beautiful weather and landscape. We have driven by other lavender farms in the area but it is hard to beat the assortment of flowers and views of this farm. We definitely want to come back for another visit!

A neat and well looked after place to spend an hour or two. There are a variety of animals on the farm in enclosures too.
Entry fee was only $5 at the time we went and they’ve got tonnes of stuff in their shop - it smells amazing!
The cafe is super cute as well and they’ve for lavender sorbets and chocolates. Staff were friendly and helpful!

Lovely day to visit the farm.
There are animals, fairy houses and puzzles all around the farm making it a great day out for families.
Shame that the lavender had been farmed in November so maybe I’ll visit another time just before they’re cut.
The homemade products in the shop are really nice too especially the ice cream

What a beautiful lavender farm. You do have to pay an entry fee to walk around but it's definitely worth it, esp when the lavenders are blooming. Takes a good 1-2 hrs to walk around as there are lots of photo opportunities and plenty of other visitors to fight over the photo shoot (just kidding) but you do have to wait at the purple door and the purple tractors (there are 2 by the way). The cafe mainly serve small sweet snacks and ice cream, tea and coffee. So don't expect to have a meal there. Overall, really recommend coming to this pretty attraction at Wanaka.

Totally love this place! Such a beautiful place to visit, spent a good couple of hours there with our 3yr old. Lavender honey is delicious! Lavender ice cream yummy and lavender macrons ‘oh my lord! Delicious’

A lovely place to visit. Lots of interesting things games to play, lots of of short easy walks. The animals are friendly. Winter prices good value.

We visited during the Winter of Aug 2023, so there wasnt any lavender blooms to see. But there were plenty of farm animals that we could see and feed.
The farm is still a very nice place to visit and walk around taking photos.
Recommend to pay a visit if you are free.

A cute little kid friendly place with some Instagrammable spots. Manicured rows of lavender bushes and farm animals (including alpaca!) with a nice little cafe as well. They also sell lavender oils and creams.

Really beautifully-kept grounds and absolutely lovely to wander around especially on a clear day. I would say this is the perfect spot for families with young children to visit, but even our group of adults really loved stopping by.
We came during off-peak season on a weekday, and whilst the lavender was not in bloom it was still well worth a visit because the space is so pleasant to walk around visiting the different farm animals. The shop and cafe is also great for lavender fans and we spent a small fortune here on essential oils and honey!

Their gardens are beautiful, no doubt. But personally, i felt their beauty products and oils seemed bit expensive to me. I tried their lavender honey ice cream cup, which was just okay. Not very great. To see lavender farms, you can definitely visit them, its good for photography as well.
One thing I would like to mention, they charge $15 for entry to farm. I noticed some people entered farms even without paying fees. Which I personally felt awkward.

Not the greatest time of the year to go as it’s close to the end of the season. However it was still beautiful and we had heaps of fun.
Family friendly and awesome photo opportunities.
The little farm shop sells honey, tea, icecream and macarons. There’s also natural beauty products, and oils.

Wanaka Lavender Farm in New Zealand is like stepping into a colorful dream during the summer. The fields are full of beautiful lavender flowers that smell amazing. You can walk around, breathe in the lovely scent, and enjoy the pretty purple flowers. It's a peaceful and beautiful place where you can relax and take in the sights and smells of nature. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area!

These girls are gorgeous and they do a gorgeous job too. So inspiring. With a range of products they have in store, variety of high quality honey, and the way they operate the business they motivated me to plant a lavender farm when I return back to Europe one day myself. I wish I could partner with them in this business and learn from them about the products. Lot of potential. This is amazing.
Nikola Segedi — Google review
Lovely place to visit! It has a variety of activities across the farm including noughts and crosses, places to take pictures, and animals to see. This cost only $15 for entry. There was also a building where bespoke honey and lavender products could be purchased, and you could order icecream and tea. Overall, I would recommend this for some aromatherapy and fun for the whole family!

Worth visiting: There is a charge to enter the lavender gardens for viewing through the cafe.
It's an easy walk. If you're sensitive to the sun, an umbrella might be beneficial.
If you have kids, take some snacks and drinks, lots of places to sit, and enjoy the views, especially if the weather is good.
Blueberry muffins (free honey tastings) and assorted teas served in quaint teapots and lovely teacups. (Paid)
We bought tickets on arrival, 2 minutes wait.

Summary 3/5: Visit during off peak hours to enjoy the place, otherwise it may not be worth it.
The farm 3/5: We were here around noon on a hot summer day🥵, it was very crowded. The place is insta-worthy, has a lot of good photo spots, but taking photos without getting a photo bomb is a real challenge. Patience is a must. When we were here, there wasn't many lavender blooming, just a small part of it. Luckily there are some other types of flowers around the farm that make up for it.
The shop 3/5: air conditioned, nice and organized but a bit pricey. Tried their Manuka Honey with Lavender Ice Cream, cost NZD $5.50 for a scoop. It was ok, can taste a mild hint of lavender flavor, it was nice desert for the hot weather.
Entrance ticket: NZD $15 per person, pay at the cashier inside the gift shop.
Parking: big parking, can accommodate about 50 cars.

An incredible experience visiting the lavender farm in Wanaka.
The space is so well thought out and there is plenty to see. I must admit I was worried about the bees but they were so disinterested in what we are doing with the lavender around.
Incredible spot for photos, had fun walking around and taking some snaps.
Thanks to the team who run this beautiful farm 🪻❤️

Stopped here on our way from Mt. Cook to Queenstown. Admission is $15 per adult in summer and $7.5 in all other seasons. The lavenders were in full bloom in late December and the display is amazing. Besides the lavender fields, they also have plenty of farm animals and other flowers, and the farm grounds are larger than we expected. They also sell honey and a large variety of products suitable for gifts. In all, an enjoyable experience and a nice tourist attraction to stop by.
A well-liked round trip to a peak formed by ice, featuring extensive vistas of lakes and mountains. The Mount Iron Track is a circular hike that takes visitors through scenic landscapes with views that stretch far into the distance. This trail leads to a summit that was shaped by glaciers long ago, making it an interesting geological site as well as an enjoyable hiking destination. With its stunning scenery and challenging terrain, the Mount Iron Track is a must-visit for anyone seeking outdoor adventure in this area.
Wanaka is a charming tourist destination located on the southern tip of Lake Wanaka in New Zealand. The town boasts breathtaking views of snowcapped mountains and serves as the main entrance to Mount Aspiring National Park, which features stunning glaciers, beech forests, and alpine lakes. Treble Cone and Cardrona ski resorts are also nearby. Puzzling World's outdoor maze and sculpture gallery are just outside the town.
Rippon is a family-owned vineyard located on the shores of Lake Wanaka in Central Otago, New Zealand. The winery uses biodynamic farming methods and produces six main varietals of wine: Pinot Noir, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Gewurztraminer, Gamay and Osteiner. As a result of its location and wine production methods, Rippon has one of the best cellar door views in NZ.
Absolutely enjoyed visiting Rippon, for us it was the perfect rainy afternoon “activity”! We booked in on the website half an hour prior.
The view is just stunning, even on rainy days. We were welcomed by Laetitia and got to try five different wines, which we all enjoyed - from the easy going Onsteiner to the complex Riesling and Gewürztraminer.
Janneke — Google review
We had a wine tasting today and it was very nice. You need to book ahead, and they hold tastings for small groups every 30 min.
We tasted several wines; they were all nice but we enjoyed the riesling the best. Their philosophy is very interesting and one I was happy to support by buying a bottle (the tastings are free).
If you're staying in Wanaka consider walking to the winery... it's a lovely 45 min on the lake path, and a 10 min walk uphill (the trail switchbacks so it's not as steep as it looks!) to the winery. The views of the lake and vines are fantastic. The winery grounds are beautiful as well.
kathy peterson — Google review
The most beautiful vineyard, venue and view in New Zealand. The wine is of course delicious. The team at Rippon provided us with world class service and hospitality for our event - couldn't recommend them more. Thank you!

Small winery just out of town. As other reviewers have said, the view from the tasting room is superb.
6 wines offered in the sampling session, expertly described, and you are given plenty of time to try them and ask questions . If you want to buy, prices per bottle are fair, and they give info on international distributors if you want to buy it when back at home.
Great fun,and laid back tour.

The free wine tasting tour is brilliant, as are the views and the girls that run the show. Very polite, accommodating and friendly.
The wines are great too and priced in line with the market. The gardens overlook the lake and mountains and offer spectacular views too. Tours last 30minutes so its an easy activity to add to a day!

It's a short experience but nice that you can get a friendly (and free) wine tasting. Make sure you book online to get a spot. It's a shame that you can't stay around and sit down for a drink, as the view is absolutely stunning! We hung around after just taking it in, would honestly come just for that.
Corrine — Google review
Their vineyard is like no other. What a heavenly place. The tasting room was built beautiful that looks over the vineyard and Lake Wanaka. What an experience!
Kary W — Google review
Taking the walk/short drive out to Rippon is well worth the trip! This relatively small vineyard produces some delicious wines, and you get to try 4 during this free tasting. We came away with a great understanding of the different grapes, and how growing them in this specific region affected the taste. The guide was well informed and engaging and we bought a reasonably priced bottle at the end.
Pippa Harding — Google review
Great tasting with Haddon and the guys at Rippon. Throughly enjoyed the Pinot Noir and Riesling. It was really nice for Haddon to go through "Emma" and "Tinker field" history with us. Cheers T

Good wine but phenomenal views! Make sure you book as appointments are required for tastings. No food offered which was disappointing.
Kristen Pelc — Google review
The views from the winery are truly incredible. The free wine tasting was also very good (but helped significantly because it was free).
We felt quite rushed during the session as it's only half an hour. The wine portion sizes were very small, and the wine price list was pushed on us quite a bit at the end with the expectation that you would buy a bottle.
Now, all of the issues above seem small, but this is only because the tasting was free. We'd have much preferred to pay some money ($10 to $30) for a longer session, additional tasting note information, more wine and less expectations of purchase.
The whole 'free wine tasting to guilt you into purchase' wasn't great. I don't expect this being the intention from the owners, but that was how it felt.
I think the access should be improved for walking/cycling visitors, and some food options would be great. Also the opportunity to have people enjoy the beautiful scenery with a glass of wine afterwards. Someone in our group asked this and then get told no 'because of the liquor licence', which seemed odd.
Some small improvements would go a long way.

Amazing intimate casual wine tasting with lovely views and clear explanations. The best that we did in New Zealand so far.
Delicious and complex wines. Local, family run and biodynamic.
So good, thanks a lot !!!

The iconic #ThatWanakaTree is a solitary, gnarled crack willow tree that stands in Lake Wanaka, with the stunning Southern Alps forming its backdrop. This unique location has made it a popular spot for tourists and photographers from all over the world to capture its beauty. The aged willow tree has been there for over 70 years and is now surrounded by low lake levels but still attracts a lot of visitors who come just to experience this sight.
A unique spot for a willow tree aged over 70 years old in Wanaka lake. Expect people and tourists with cameras, everywhere. They all come from different places just to see that #thatwanakatree experience.

You can drive up and park. There were a lot of people, the mountains and water is gorgeous. The tree is cool to see but not as cool as I expected from the videos and pics I’ve seen. Still a fun time
Mike Ortiz — Google review
WARNING: NEVER EVER go in the morning. EXTREMELY backlighting. Well, the tree doesn't seems to be that 'lonely' as there are so many trees surround it. Product of social media hype.
However the lake is indeed beautiful. Jogging spot for locals.

Beautiful place to see .Road very Well maintained and many lookout points on the way , one of the best scenic views of glaciers in winter. Zig zag road have to be careful in driving, A tree in Lake is good to see in spring

You will know why I rated it 4 stars instead of the max. The tree wasn’t submerged fully when I was there, probably due to low tide. Pictures were still nice, but it would have been nicer if the tree was fully in the water. Free parking available.

Yeah it was nice. Just made a quick stop to check out the tree. Lake levels pretty low for it to be surrounded by water. But great biking trails I want to try next time.

This review is about the entire town of Wanaka, not just the Wanaka Tree. To be completely honest, the #ThatWanakaTree isn't really that impressive. What truly stands out is the town itself. It's peaceful, charming, and there are plenty of restaurants to enjoy. When we visited during autumn, the trees and leaves were incredibly beautiful. I can't miss mentioning the breathtaking views on the journey from Arrowtown to Wanaka – that's definitely a bonus! On my next trip, I plan to book an Airbnb here so we can explore the town even more.

The Wanaka Tree is so beautiful sitting there in the middle of the lake with the mountain backdrop. It’s a lovely peaceful spot to sit and admire the views and also the sound of the lapping water. Just beautiful.
There is a car park very close to the tree, it’s only about 100m or so.

Easy and plenty of parking, the tree itself is not much but the overall view is great, definitely worth the visit. Wanaka is beautiful as an overall.

The tree has an amazing history, but the tree itself looks standard. The area around it however, is BEAUTIFUL and worth the walk around. Get away from the crowd and just walk around the place. There is a huge tree just opposite this Wanaka tree, facing inland and is stunning.

Indeed just a tree... But an Instagram must. Made famous by postcards and accessible by a 3 minute walk, making it ideal for every person to try and get "the" shot!

This tree is so unique and beautiful that it makes this place a perfect tourist destination. Located in Wanaka lake, this willow tree is over 70 years old. It is common to see tourists and people with cameras everywhere. The public restrooms are very close by. There is a nearby parking lot and it is a relatively short walk to where people are taking pictures.

Wanaka Tree is a VG short walk from the car park at the south west edge of Lake Wanaka.
The power of social media, esp for the Asian visitors, was very evident. The location was swarming with tourists.
Some people waited an hour to queue up for that ‘solo shot’.
I was happy to walk on and keep discovering.

Very beautiful! But also so funny how many people come to see the tree and fake photos and videos. Worth seeing, but really only like take you 5 minutes. Really nice to see at sunset.

This lakeside spot with a lone tree is a total gem for photos! The reflections are magic. But folks, let's keep it real – that tree's not a climbing gym. Respect nature's beauty and stick to appreciating it from the ground. Leave only footprints, not climbing marks. Mother Nature and other people will thank you!

Spent some time with my family in the park adjacent to the Wanaka tree. Beautiful with walnut, apple, and chestnuts to pick in moderation of course.
Colleen Crowley — Google review
Great place to stop. There are picnic tables, beautiful clear water, amazing scenery and plenty of room to park. If you have a canoe, it's an ideal and calm place to paddle.
The tree itself is quite busy, so be prepared to wait for a photo. There are no charges but also no seating near the tree.
Gavin Bollard — Google review
A great photo op. Some people nestle down for a photo shoot and spend 15-30 minutes but if you're patient, people clear for your photos. Kind of sad they need a sign to be responsible but after observing tourists in New Zealand, I get it. Parking was fairly easy close by or walk from downtown and enjoy the lakeside walk.
Trypp Adams — Google review
As far as trees go, it's not a bad tree. Prepare to join a queue and wait very patiently for your shot, though. We visited on an autumn weekday afternoon, and it was quite busy. Tourists fought and raced to get as close to the tree as possible, ruining the shot for others. If you don't like crowds and arrogant instagrammers, maybe look at one of the other surrounding trees instead.
M Quigley — Google review
Beautiful tree and always crowded with tourists so be patient and queue. Best timing is 8-10am when the lake is still and you can see all reflection, later sun will burn all the pictures
Truc Nguyen — Google review
Free tourist destination. It’s a tree in the middle of the lake. Quite overrated as it’s just a tree. Overall, quite okay but nothing special. In fact, there are many trees nearby that though not as well shaped, are also in the middle of the lake. Many tourist near the tree, so a bit crowded. But nice photo opportunities I guess.

A tree on the Beach in Wanaka.
Story behind this is somewhat interesting and the original photo which one awards was well done, but save your time unless you really want to visit this spot and the surrounding area and/or are passing this way already.
The National Transport and Toy Museum in Wanaka is a place where enthusiasts can find almost every type of collectible toy. The museum has a kids play area, toy store, and picnic area.
Beautiful place. My little one really had great fun. They’ve got so many old things that will remind you of your childhood 😊

This is a comprehensive collection of almost every type of transport you can think of. Some displays have good explanation and/or background stories but most have very little other than the model etc. Cafe was nonexistent but the store itself was full of models to suit everyone.
There's a brewery next door with a great selection of beer but they only serve pizza if you're looking for lunch as well.

I came across the museum as I was leaving Wanaka and I had a bit of time to spare so I thought I'd quickly pop in to look around. I landed up staying for more than 2 hours, and I didn't even get to see everything! This place is absolutely wonderful and I'd recommend it to anyone who is in the Wanaka area. The museum has an incredible amount of pieces on display, and there is definitely something for everyone here. Looking through the toys was a wonderful trip down memory lane. The displays have been put together very well, and it's incredible to see the some of the old toys in such a good state. The vast array of vehicles within the different sections of the museum is mind-blowing. From planes, cars and motor bikes to bicycles, boats and fire trucks you can easily spend a whole day exploring this amazing place.

What a lovely place!
It is really the best collection of vehicles and planes I have seen in New Zealand. There are an in fathomable amount of vehicles. Enough that my father could find each one of his old family cars!
I would recommend closer to 4 hours as it will give you an hour per building. There are also a few things to be seen out the back as well as in the yard.
Before in the store as it is best toy store you would of seen in a while, large collections of lego, plastic model, die cast models, dolls, Sylvanian family and more.
Highway recommend it for a days activity for all ages!

Was so very hard to find. We managed to find other lost people while we walked around Wanaka following google maps and even then we still couldn't find you. We all walked past you 4 times!
Yes, there're signs, yes, there is a flag but no, there is no sign post or flag right out front of your shop plus, you are surrounded by a cafe with tables and chairs scattered about the place that we had to manoeuvre our way through the many dogs tied up, kids and people.
Once finally in, everything was so damn expensive that my eyes bulged out of my head! The information the safe gave was good, not great. I asked a question and I got laughed at. I asked that question because thats what you do in order to know something!!!
The audacity of her arrogance was outstanding! Belittling me is NOT how it's done sweetheart.

You'll find the Wanaka i-SITE in the small shopping centre area along Ardmore Street just in front of the lake. There is a handful of parking spots right in front of the i-Site and a larger carpark across the street along the lakefront. Opening hours are 9am to 5pm daily.
This is a good place to stop by when you first arrive in town. They staff are friendly and can give you latest information regarding weather and local trail conditions and make suggestions for which you might want to try during your visit to Wanaka.
They have area hiking maps and numerous tour brochures at the i-SITE and can book tours and activities for you as well.

Lovely wine tasting experience! Perfect spot for our small group with delicious wines too. Couldn’t leave without buying a bottle!

Just had a wonderful and informative tasting with the owner Fiona. She took the time to explain so many facets of the winemaking process, and the wines are fantastic. Do yourself a favor and stop in whenever you find yourself in the area!

Lovely man who developed the vineyard
Great courage to come to NZ and develop a vineyard with no experience
Good wines and I suspect they will get better and better
Highly recommend a visit

I just loved my time at this beautiful vineyard today. You truly feel like you’ve walked into a friend’s home when you walk in the door. But she just wants to share her favorite wines with you.
The delightful woman that greeted us was so personable and friendly.
I’ve done wine tastings from Bordeaux region to Napa and I’ve never loved a tasting more. I truly felt welcomed into her home. It’s easy to tell she loves what she does and her pups are just as friendly as they say hello when you park.
Thank you for having us today!
Oh. And I truly don’t like Chardonnay but I bought some from this vineyard because it had such unique and delicious flavor!

What a lovely experience. No charge for the tasting if you buy a bottle but the product sells itself so we bought 3! Took them down to the Fiordland to enjoy.. see rosé pictured here chilling in an alpine lake.

Small winery with a tasting room. The lady describing the wines did a good job. The wines I tried were very fruit forward and yummy. Free tasting with suggested donation.

Great wine and no tasting fee if you purchase a bottle. The owners are lovely and it feels like sipping wine with friends. Added bonus they have 2 beautiful dogs who love snugs and lots of chickens/ducks roaming around. We love visiting Aitken's Folly whenever we're in Wanaka, will be back next year!

We loved all of the wines on offer, which is quite rare!

Really enjoyable experience visiting the vineyard and tasting the wine. The owner is a friendly and sociable gentleman. There are also 2 friendly dogs on the premises. We were allowed to taste their wine before making our purchase 😄👍. It is conveniently located in Wanaka.

Beautiful wine selection - wouldn’t bother going anywhere else. Wine tastings are free if you buy a bottle (or simply make a donation), there is a very cute dog. Merci Aitkens Folly Winery!

A must pitstop when in wanaka. My wife and I don’t enjoy white wine but guess what? We bought a bottle of Chardonnay! It’s just that good. Two cute doggos will great you when you enter the cosy room and the experience is fun and informative! :)

Needed a bottle of wine to take on to Twizel yesterday. Enjoying this beautiful Pinot noir now with a book. Thank you for this unique wine tasting experience… actually preferred it to Rippon. The dogs, the friendly relaxed atmosphere, the genuine human interaction and hard work that went into this wine. Can’t beat it!!

My husband and I came in on our way to Wanaka from Mt Cook. We were immediately greeted by Freckles and Gordon, the sweet dogs. There is no charge for the tastings but the wines really do speak for themselves- we purchased 2 bottles! Our favorites were the Chardonnay and the Riesling. The atmosphere was very relaxing and informative. The owner really took her time explaining the wines and had a genuine conversation with us. Highly recommend for a great relaxed experience.

I don't like whites, regardless of any grapes.
But OMG.
The Chardonnay... Out of this world.
No joke. I really dislike! White. But this puppy was maximus legitus 😍😍😍
Friendly vineyard owner as well.
Got the bottle at 2.
Done back at hotel by 5.
Oops.

Visited the cellar door today with two young European visitors looking for their first experience of wine-tasting in NZ. What a great choice we made to go here ! Fiona (owner) was so generous in her time and her imparting of knowledge about Aitken's Folly wines in particular, and wine in general. They were most impressed, and so was I. I also purchased the mystery wine 3 - pack. WOW - what a selection !!
Maude Wines is a winery located in Central Otago that produces exceptional wines. Visitors can enjoy a sampling of their delicious offerings by visiting their tasting room or taking part in a guided tour. In addition to wine, the area also boasts Cardrona Distillery which provides insight into the process of making spirits from start to finish. Other notable vineyards in the vicinity include Rippon Vineyard, Aitken's Folly and Nanny Goat (formerly Archangel).
A beautiful taste experience with so much interesting knowledge shared. Tasty food too. One the best. Book in advance, they do tastings on the hour and fill up quickly.

Well, I’m not usually one to do this, but we had an absolute horrible experience here, but did a really great job of making us feel like we were not welcome. Arrived at 4:02pm and told tasting had finished because “otherwise we’ll never get people to leave”. There were only two of us, they only had 8 other customers (could seat probably 40) and didn’t close for an hour. After pointing out there are only two of us who had to drive (so clearly we were not going to hang around and get wasted) we were again denied. We reluctantly tried two different glasses which we enjoyed but the felt like we being rushed out the door the whole time. Very poor customer service.

Had nibbles and taster tray. Wines were all excellent and truffle fries and chicken can be recommended.
Outdoor seating had heaters and rugs and probably stayed a lot longer than needed to due to comfort levels.

As a part of my Sperm Donation World tour of New Zealand, I arrive in Wanaka and discover this great winery with some great wines, I did the tasting and young Ben was a great host very passionate, ended up buying a glass of kids block, but I also liked the poison creek

Swung past the Maude Tasting room at 1:20pm. Was asked abruptly as to whether I had a booking. When I said no, was told next tasting would be at 2pm and could have wine by glass in restaurant as an option. Declined as was driving. Enquired whether to book online was snappily told I had to book now! Declined the offer, and chose to go somewhere I felt welcome and with less attitude.

Great tasting experience with Lewis. Called in the morning and got a tasting session for two for 1pm! Generous with tasting sizes and a nice laid-back chat over different varieties of wine from the Maude vineyards - exactly what we were after! Lovely environment to sit in over another glass looking over the golf course and mountains beyond. Thank you very much!

We came today for wine tasting and nibbles, and had a fantastic time. Louis has made the experience unforgettable. The whole experience was above our expectations.

We first experienced Maude when on a campervan trip in January 2019. Now we have moved to Central Otago and can visit regularly. The Poison Creek Pinot Noir is one of our favorites and the truffle fries and chicken are regular nibbles. Plus, if you are fortunate enough to meet Ben (who is here all the time) he will take good care of you and has a great memory. He now greets us and just asks, ‘the usual?’ We go find a seat and the magic happens!

There really be some cracked out son of guns not giving this place 5 stars? Drunks! What an absolutely fabulous night, staff are attentive yet not intrusive, paired the wines for us and took us on a journey that only a Michelin star restaurant could provide. Hats off team you really took it up a level and we were starting to doubt if Wanaka had it in it 🫶
Ps the amuse Bouche was to die for 🫡
