Zoodoo Zoo is a small to medium-sized wildlife park that offers a range of interactive experiences, including animal feeding and informative talks throughout the day. Visitors can enjoy seeing a variety of birds and mammals, both native and imported. The zoo has excellent farmyard and wallaby feeding paddocks, as well as efforts to preserve Swift Parrots. One highlight is the Lion experience where visitors can see these amazing creatures up close. Additionally, guests can watch zebras and other Australian animals in their enclosures.
Small but beautifully maintained zoo. So many opportunities to get up close with the animals. The animal encounters were all incredible and the Lions Raw is a must for all big cat lovers. Our guides Jake and Mikey were both brilliant. Look out for Shelly the duck, biggest character in the zoo.

Was a fun place to visit and learn about the animals as there were lots of informative talks throughout the day.
We also booked in for the Lion experience and loved that... they were so amazing up close... I just wanted to cuddle them!

The whole family had a great afternoon at Zoodoo! We will be purchasing the annual pass as it is definitely worth it. Our family are new residents to Tassie so have loved seeing Tasmanian Devils and meeting the friendly kangaroos.

Took our Granddaughter in the hopes that you could still go on the bus ride through the ostriches and camels. We were disappointed to find that they don't do that anymore. I found it to be a bit pricey for what was on offer. In saying that, we still enjoyed ourselves and are glad that we went.

I liked it here. There are some beautiful animals and some animals I've never seen before in other mainland zoos. The Wombats were awake and active, and we got to watch a feeding. The zoo is wheelchair and pram friendly, and the gradient isn't too step, but you can give yourself a nice workout if you tried. All the animals in the petter areas were friendly and approachable, and all the staff were knowledgeable and friendly. The kids play area and small cafe is a great place to have a rest if planning on spending all day, or grabbing and ice cream on the way out.
I had to remove a star as the entire kids' area smelt like cigarette as people were by their cars smoking, and it came directly in, not very healthy unfortunately. But overall, it was a wonderful day out for the family.

Such a fun little place - lots of good animals both native and imported. Really good keeper chats. Excellent farmyard and wallaby feeding paddocks too. Bravo on your efforts on preserving Swift Parrots too.

The zoo is not big but full of fun. You can interact with kangaroos and other animals. The animals look healthy. I think the zoo keepers are doing a great job.

Went there for the zoo experience and it didn’t disappoint, worth every cent and a must do, we did the full experience it was the extra cost , with out this experience I wouldn’t of thought much of the zoo but this has left a ever lasting impression and the hands on experience gave a good insight into the keepers and the animals and there individual personalities,

We chose to spend a day in Zoodoo zoo as our last day of the Tassie trip.
The price may be a bit expensive but I felt totally worthy as the zookeepers and staffs took care of the animals very well. Once you got in, you can visit big cat lion, zebra, monkey and have a chance to feed kangaroos and donkey.
The overall visiting experience for me is that, Zoodoo zoo felt more like a 'farm' than a 'zoo' as all animals are living happily and peacefully. Highly recommend the experience🐒🐱🐈🦁🦓🐪🐐🦥

A medium-size zoo. I enjoyed watching zebras 🦓. You can spot other Australian animals too. The zoo is worth visiting once.
Subhash Chandran — Google review
The setting of the zoo was out of the suburbs.
There was quite a lot of conservation information.
The variety of animals for the size of the zoo was quite adequate.
Being able to feed macropods (kangaroos) and farm animals was delightful.

Enjoyed feeding the animals, kangaroo paddock felt a little small for so many? But had a good time none the less

For a small zoo surprisingly good! Animal experience are very affordable and informative. Had a ball honestly, highlight of our trip

For a small country zoo there was a very unique variety of animals, recommend not visiting in the middle of the day as most animals are nocturnal and are asleep.
The keepers do a great job during talk times, personalised experiences seemed a bit expensive since they didn't last long.
Amanda Kavanagh — Google review
A must visit while in Tassie especially with kids. A good animal feeding experience and we got to see new animals which we haven't seen in Melbourne zoo. The Cafe is great to and a play area for kids as well. Soo many chirpy birds, a woow experience.
Nandini Sharma — Google review
Was pleasantly surprised by such a variety of animals well housed and presented in a what seemed to be a relatively small area. Easy to walk around. As a lazy reader I really liked the QR code activated video introduction/ description of animals by keepers at each enclosure. Seemed like there was something for everyone.
Andrew W — Google review
Was a nice day out didn't get to see alot of the animals due to maintenance with the enclosures.
Definitely bring sunscreen as there's not much shade around
Laura Wilton — Google review
This is the best zoo we've ever been to. You get to interact and feed some of the animals. The zoo is not packed out, you have alot of privacy and space to explore at your own pace. There are alot of animals to see. The staff are very friendly and there is a play area for the kids.

The Richmond Gaol, built in 1825, is a notable prison with tours of its cells, holding rooms and yards. The gift shop adds to the attraction's appeal. This oldest jail in Australia features displays that depict the lives of convicts, gaolers and administrators. Visitors are treated to an actual experience of what took place during that time period. Of particular interest are the solitary cells without windows where convicts were confined for up to 21 days without exercise or fresh air.
Simple yet striking display of the oldest gaol (jail) in Australia. Displays depict the lives of convicts, gaolers, and administrators and visitors, in the actual buildings where events all took place. Well worth a visit for 30 to 60 minutes, very reasonably priced.
Two things caught my eye in particular: the solitary cells with no windows at all, where convicts were in prison for up to 21 days without exercise or fresh air; and the lists of female prisoners who gave birth, and babies of female prisoners who died in the prison system, page after page after page of names. So sad.
Highly recommended.

A goal from the early 1800’s that is still as it was when in operation build by the convicts. The small charge for entry is well worth the price. Details in every room. Also the plaques on the door to solitary explain how harsh punishments were
Dennis Harrild — Google review
reasonable entry price, we spent a great day exploring and learning the vast history of the building, the area and the people. I recommend asking for the childrens eye spy card as you'll find some extra things you might not notice normally. very interesting place, a highlight for my husband on our travels.

Very authentic place right in the heart of Richmond. The self guided tour is ok but could really do with a guide so you can really get a feel for what happened in this place. So great to see alot of things are just how they were when it was actually run as a jail.

Wasn’t sure if the kids will enjoy visiting this place together with us. But they sure did.
Very interesting place with rich history. The information was detail yet digestible for both adults and children.

A must see in Tasmania's best kept secret attraction town of Richmond. This unique historical property allows you to see how the convict gaol system worked in this wonderfully maintained set of buildings.
Richmond itself is a worthy half day experience with some excellent accommodation alternatives to Hobart.
Mark Muggeridge — Google review
I appreciate the history surrounding this site, however for the entry price I found it to be very small. The museum is contained within one building with a central courtyard- you enter the half dozen rooms surrounding the courtyard and view basic displays. There were very few interactive elements (apart from a voice-over or two) and the place was a little sparse overall. It would benefit greatly from either; a lower price, guided tours to add educational benefit to visiting, and/or more numerous and interactive displays.
Mikayla B — Google review
This gaol is a highlight of any visit to Tasmania. A fascinating historical site with very good information given on notices outside and inside rooms and best of all you are able to wander about at your leisure looking at everything.
There is so much to see, original artifacts in rooms and cells as they were when convicts were held there.
A very reasonable entry fee and brochure which had a map and information.
This was the best historical site I have seen in Tasmania and I can't praise it highly enough.
I highly recommend a visit here, for me this was far superior to the Hobart penitentiary which was disappointingly dreary.

Richmond is a beautiful historical town and there is plenty to do. Richmond Gaol is a ‘must do’ location. Have returned here several times and it never gets boring. Come and see how convicts lived, worked and treated. There’s a small gift shop. Highly recommended.

It is hard to keep history as it was. Here they have retained and not added to this historical site. It is full of information and you may even find the family name in the prisoner ledges.

I visited Richmond for the afternoon with family. When I saw that the town had a Gaol, I knew I had to visit. I love old historic buildings steeped with history. Was a great experience. The Gaol isn't very big. You can walk into the cells and different rooms to get a sense of what life was like here in the 1800's and early 1900's. This Gaol has been well maintained and the lady at the front desk was really helpful to answer our questions. Highly recommend.
Helen Di Domenico — Google review
Living history as it was such a hard life difficult to believe they survived and went on to have prosperous lives.
Roy Hokin — Google review
We did not plan to stop here, instead happening across it in the back street of Richmond.
Well worth the visit. Completely self guided with a very reasonable entry fee. The grounds and buildings have been restored or stripped back to reveal the history and the story of the gaol.
Informative and engaging plaques give the history and insights of the place. The dark isolation cells made me anxious, incredibly oppressive to stand in with the door open. I couldn't imagine the door being shut.
Very informative little visit. Wandered through in about 30-40 minutes.
The Sullivans Cove Distillery is an upscale whiskey factory that offers tours and tastings to its visitors. Despite its unremarkable appearance, it has managed to produce some of the world's best single-malt whiskey and single-cask single malt, as recognized at the World Whiskies Awards in 2014 and 2018. The distillery provides tours twice a day, which require advance booking or walk-ins for tastings.
Some really fine spirits here! Totally enjoyable and quite unique for Australia. The older bottling are pretty much impossible to get though the new releases are delicious on their own terms.
Quite the drams! Definitely worth the prizes!

Back in May this year 2023, I was lucky enough to win a bottle in the ballot for the double cask whisky DC113. Today on our wedding anniversary we have opened and tasted it. Delicious, as my husband says, it doesn't disappoint, an excellent flavourful well balanced delicious whisky. Thank you Sullivan's Cove!

Since the distillery is temporarily closed, we went to the tasting room at Cascade Brewery. We did a normal flight and old & rare flight. I have been to whiskey brewery tastings in Scotland, Japan and Taiwan. Though not a connoisseur myself, I found myself loving Sullivans Cove whiskey the best. Tasting is not free, you pay for whichever flight you choose.

The Sullivans Cove Distillery offers an exceptional personal tour that provides an excellent overview of the distillery's operations. Harry was such a great guide, very knowledgeable and friendly. After a long time I was able to visit my favourite Australian whisky maker. Was good to be able to hear about some of the history about distilleries in Tasmania and seeing the whisky making process. The tasting was great, loved every bit of it.
I arrived early and the front of house staff were extremely friendly. Was offered two whisky to taste, both of which can only be had at the distillery.
Ended up purchasing two bottles to be delivered and service was great, made sure everything was right before I was on my way.
Look forward to taking another tour at Sullivan's Cove when they move locations on the Hobart harbour.

Fantastic experience in the tasting room. The staff were friendly and patient, and were more than happy to share lots of information about their whiskies on offer. Had the old and rare whisky tasting flight, after which they then offered a bonus tasting of the special cask and american oak single cask bottlings which were available for sale in the cellar door. Very close to Hobart Airport and definitely worth a visit if you have an hour of free time.

So much to learn! You'll never look at whiskey the same after this. Tour is excellent, thank you Harry! Whiskey from Sullivan's is a labour of love. Everything from crafting the whiskey, to wrapping it up to protect it during freight to lucky recipients. Love your work. Highly recommended!

Definitely worth a visit whilst in Hobart. We did on the way out of Hobart to the Coal River Food and Wine trail. Only downside is limited bottlings available for sale as most are now available by ballot only. It will be good when production capacity increases.
Excellent experience. Ask for Nick, top guy. Although he did remind me of a guy called Alfonso from Woolworths

Fun, family-owned winery in the coal river wine region. Yes there are lots of ducks swimming in the nearby pond. You can feed them as well! The wine was top notch, especially the sparkling and the rose. The patio is child friendly. Definitely worth a visit.

A cute, family oriented winery with lots of space for kids to move around. Had a wine flight and tasting notes rather than the complete story of the wine as other wiineries do. The 2021 Bubbleduck was crisp and creamy. Then the 2023 riesling was a lovely dry and fruit driven wine. Their Fume Blanc 2023 is a easy drinker for any occasion. And if you really like ducks, grab yourself from Puddleduck paraphernalia.

Had cake and coffee here. Coffee was good but my favourite is the brownie. I'm not a sweet tooth so the sweet layer was a bit too much halfway through. However, the brownie itself was spot on. I love brownies but 90% of them are just sweet. This one was perfect especially the slight bitter taste of the burnt sides. Yum! I'd buy one whole brownie from them without the topping if I could!
Service was friendly and had a great atmosphere. We sat inside as it was a bit chilly that day but outside seating looked awesome. Love the large dam with lots of ducks around. Toilets were clean too!

Such a fantastic winery with so many gorgeous ducks. Have been multiple times now and each time the food and wines have been delicious. Today we had the vineyard platter & dukkah (pictured) which was sensational! There is outdoor seating & a playground and also undercover deck seating with heaters and an inside area. There is also a super cute gift shop with every duck related gift you could ever want.

This is such a nice vineyard! Lots of flying ducks here too 😄 the wine tasting was just $5 for five wines, with an short explanatory from the staff, which was pretty awesome. The atmosphere of the place was really nice, and a lot of things for children to do to keep them entertained. They also sell duck food so you can feed the ducks.

I visited Puddleduck Vineyard with my family on a sunny afternoon and enjoyed the scenic views and the relaxing atmosphere. The staff were friendly and attentive, and they served the wines early. However, they took a long time to bring the platter, which was a bit disappointing. The platter options were good, but they had limited choices of food. I would have liked to see more variety and freshness. The seating area was nice and comfortable, and I loved watching the many lovely ducks that roamed around the pond. They were so cute and charming. Overall, I had a pleasant experience at Puddleduck Vineyard, and I would recommend it to anyone who loves wine and ducks

This was a return visit for two of us and the third person was a first timer. The food waz excellent. We ordered the soup of the day and requested a thinner cut of bread than sourdough (to accomodate the amount of food the diner could eat), a toastie that was demolished very quickly (it was greatly enjoyed) and a beautiful chicken pie (I personally didn't think the relish(?), supplied in a pot, went with the flavour of the pie but, since the relish was in a pot, it didn't matter. The chicken pie was excellent. The soup was heautiful - that diner was overjoyed with it. I had a glass of the Riesling and found it a little bolder and creamier than an average Riesling. I liked it! Venue is lovely. Staff were great. Prices good.. Will happily return.

Great wines, service and location. Much more than a vineyard. Its a place to go for social events with or without kids. The duck pond and theme really set it apart. We had tasting and cheese sampler plate. Thank you.
The wine testing was good . The staff was knowledgeable . The site was beautiful set up and with sandstone venue . Tasmania wine is not good for red wine. The white range were pretty good. I recommend to pick the classic range for testing , don’t go for the premium because it was not worth extra what you pay for .However I like the views here and the location. You can walk from Richmond. Worth a visit.

Only four stars as we specifically went there to get some of their bubbly that we'd had the night before at Prospect House, unfortunately they were sold out of bubbly. The pizzas are nice though. My wife sampled a couple of their wines, I was Des, which were pleasant enough. If we had more time we may have sampled more. It has a nice outlook from the dining area. The staff are friendly and helpful. Just a shame about the bubbly. Oh well, maybe next time.

Exceptional cellar door; congratulations on being named James Halliday Winery of the Year 2023. Pooley Wines have the best Tasmanian sparkling wine, riesling, chardonnay, and pinot noir. Do ask for the cheese board to accompany the tasting. And make sure you book the artisan wood-fired pizzas for lunch. A great way to spend the afternoon in Coal River Valley.

Lovely outdoor venue with gas heaters which we found very useful! Menu is mostly a selection of wood fired pizza. The two we chose were excellent. After being a long time fan of their Riesling we had to come in for a tasting.
What a beautiful location reminded me of being back in Europe. So rustic looking which adds to the charm of the place and the enjoyment of the wine too.
We left with one of our favourite Pinot noirs but was blown away by their Chardonnay from the Butchers Hill Vineyard. As our host said a beautiful seasonal wine. It will be on our rotation for sure. (Picture included)
There’s a light selection of food on offer.
The staff a very friendly and happy to support other wineries by providing recommendations.

One of the best wine tasting we had in Australia. Beautiful venue, great wine, very reasonably priced tasting. Our host Rachel was knowledgeable, funny and made us feel welcomed.
Outdoor area was lovely, they have gas heaters for cooler days.
Pizza is really good, but I would recommend one per person as they are pretty small. If you there, you have to try apple crumble pizza - it is amazing! I would definitely recommend a visit to family & friends.

I was really looking forward to tasting here. We ordered a cheese platter and charcuterie board which were both fabulous. The wine tasting size was tiny. Smallest we have had anywhere in the world. It was a major negative on the experience. I had an extra tasting offered to contrast and was charged $5 for a 20ml poor. Good wines I think. Poor value.

This was our second visit to Pooley for the wood fired pizza. I booked about a week in advance and they were booked out (due to two days before Christmas). However, they managed to squeeze four of us in. The venue is in a beautiful location with wonderful views down into the valley looking toward Richmond. The venue is atmospheric, situated amongst historic sandstone buildings. There were lots of people enjoying themselves, which was good to see the ongoing success of the woodier pizza weekends (our first visit was 5 years prior, with my simple review from the time still included below). We ordered several different pizzas and glasses of Pooley's wine - both excellent. One pizza was slightly over cooked (base slightly burnt) but it was still edible without any detraction from taste or enjoyment. Staff were great. A beautiful, fun day out to celebrate Christmas with family.
I would also recommend the fine dining at Prospect House (bookings a must), also run by Pooley - a separate review will be forthcoming.

I’m not usually one to write reviews, but I was absolutely blown away by the quality of the food, wine, and service here. This vineyard is run by a lovely couple and their adorable, friendly dog. We walked in without a booking and were kindly invited to take a seat in the gorgeous outdoor garden, where we ordered the white wine tasting and a cheese board. Both were delicious and very reasonably priced. We spoke with another group that had been to over 10 wine tastings throughout their trip to Tasmania and told us that this was by far their favorite! We were sure to purchase a bottle of wine and chocolates before leaving. Could not more strongly a visit to this establishment.

I had my first ever wine tasting today and I couldn’t be more content that it was at Every Man and His Dog Vineyard. We were welcomed with open arms, delicious pairings of cheeses and meats, the homemade chocolate smell seeping from their factory into the air. We indulged in a lovely white wine tasting AND even got to hang out with the sweetest dog that roams around checking in on customers. Me and my friend were so over the moon with our experience as we basked in the sunshine surrounded by bright pink flowers and sipped on the bubbly white — that we HAD to buy a bottle of after. My mum and I had the absolute best time on our visit to this winery for a wine and chocolate pairing session. All the chocolates are hand made and very delicious.
We enjoyed the Pinot Noir very much and our order arrived perfectly back to our home state with their customised Every Woman & Her Dog labels.
Highly recommended for your visit to this special place and meet the lovely local owners Maurice and Helen and their sidekick Jax the dog.
Old Hobart Town is a tourist attraction that allows visitors to explore a miniature replica of Hobart as it was in the 1820s. This model town is filled with interesting and historical items, such as Tasmanian tigers and depictions of daily life, making it both educational and enjoyable for people of all ages. The proprietor is friendly and willing to share knowledge about the history of old Hobart town, adding to the overall experience.
Old Hobart Town is clearly a labour of love and well worth a visit. Coincidentally, we are staying close to the part of Hobart which Old Hobart Town is based on … what a wonderful history lesson! The model town included items which surely keep children happy too .. find the Tasmanian tigers, the woman killing a snake, a boy falling out of a tree, etc. The proprietor is very friendly and happy to spend time explaining about the history of old Hobart town (the actual place and the model).. thoroughly enjoyable morning.

Beautiful models of the old Hobart from history. It explains the story from the past, how Hobart was formed and then grew after being stagnant for a few years! They also have a fun small game - find the objects in the model! Pretty good research and effort. Worth visiting

Enjoyable visit to Old Hobart Town!
Excellent workmanship in the scale build of Old Hobart Town. Take your time and look at all the amazing detail, there is so much hidden humour in the placement of the figurines, all telling little stories
For a family of three it was $40 which was ok
We went January 2024 and was advised that the place is actually up for sale so who knows if it was continue in the future ….

Old Hobart Town is the manifestation of 30 years of labour and love. Painstakingly hand crafted, each clay character has a story, every building is researched. Thank you Andrew, for sharing your knowledge. You are most generous. Hunting for the 4 hidden toons was like where's wally in real life. 3 out of 4 today. I'll look for the snake lady on my next visit! Keep well, stay safe.

This place is worth the visit, enjoyed the miniature town and all the great figurines. Spent a couple of hours here, because after reading the plaques you then spend time looking at the building replicas and the laugh at some of the funny poses of the figurines. Great work! Worth the visit..

Very innovative tourist attraction in Richmond, Tasmania... Painstaking details of replicas of Old Hobart city... Well worth the visit...

I can appreciate the workmanship that went into the display. Signage provided some insights into how Hobart came to be and life at the time. We spent 30 minutes walking through the display and felt disappointed. Unfortunately I feel the cost of admission is very steep and majority of families (including mine) are looking for better value for money. I wouldn’t recommend.

Labour of love, well worth a visit and educational for young and old.

Great historical display, really impressed with the whole setup. It looks small at first but there's a lot going on as it's a miniature model of the early city, and there are information boards around too. Worth a visit not just if you're a tourist, but also if you're into Australian history or craft/models. Entry costs $17.50 from memory and there family passes available too. It's outdoors and free umbrellas are provided.

Miniature Hobart from 1820s. $17.5 for adult entry. It's very small (I guess after visiting tazmazia you expect something more big scale) could finish within 15-20 minutes. Would be good if you're interested in history. The craftsmanship was pretty good though, with lots of little tiny people doing funny things so you gotta use your imagination 😂

Well-maintained and beautifully crafted exhibit for those who are interested in history. Intricate displays. It was fun trying to find the 4 items listed on the board.

We loved Hobart and the surrounding areas. It has quite a charm and a mixture of cities around the world. People are quite friendly in the Salamanca Market and love to have a conversation. Be ready to try different foods and also good cold ginger beer. Also lots of hand made crafts. Explore the town.

What a piece of artwork!!
So Glad I went there and got to read about Old Hobart town and see how it looked back in 1800’s.
Good and very educative place for kids.
Must go if you are in Tasmania.

$40 odd for a family pass to a display which was built in 1992. It's a figure of 8 design which only takes the kids a few minutes to navigate. It was interesting but hard to justify the price.

I love this concept of trying to portrait the history of the town, its people and their settlement. I thoroughly enjoyed as if i was watching a short movie. Don’t forget to check out the information board with a question to find some people in the model. If possible, my recommendation in the future would be to upgrade it with some sound effects and live motion. This would make it more enjoyable.
Came up to the lookout as part of my run. Was rewarded with a gorgeous sight of the bridge lit up as well as parts of the city. Depending on where you stand, you get a view of both the bridge and the city together. Was nice right before sun rise, can imagine sights here at sunset would be pretty nice too.

The lookout provides views south towards the Antarctic and northwest towards the Royal Tasmanian botanical gardens. Trees can get in the way. The view cements the reason why Hobart is the final destination of the Sydney to Hobart yacht race. Magnificent.
Mike Noordermeer — Google review
A neat little lookout not too far away from the Hobart CBD. Easy to get to by car. Although the view is not as nice as many other lookouts in Tasmania, it does offer one of the best views of the Tasman Bridge. Would recommend stopping by for a few minutes.

It is a good scenery especially at sunset as it faces the west. There are trees and shrubs block the view. Car parks are ample and no toilet. If U use apple map it will not guide you correctly.

Rosny Hill Lookout is a hidden gem in Hobart, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the city and the stunning River Derwent. This lookout is a must-visit for locals and tourists alike, providing a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle.
What sets Rosny Hill Lookout apart is its accessibility. You can drive right up to the summit, making it suitable for visitors of all ages. Once at the top, you're greeted with a postcard-worthy view that stretches from the cityscape to the harbor and beyond. It's particularly magical during sunrise or sunset.
The lookout itself is well-maintained, with seating and informational plaques that enhance your experience. It's an ideal spot for a leisurely stroll, a family picnic, or a romantic outing.

Really nice view of the bridge! Plenty of parking spots, there’s a 40 min loop walk starting at the top. People come here with a meal and have dinner in the car. Easy access. Short drive from town, I recommend!

This lookout had magnificent uninterrupted views of the city and bridge. Unfortunately, the trees are growing so high and wide the views are disappearing.
There are a few areas where you can get a good photo, but I don't know for how long.
This is a real gem! So much information packed in to this little museum. Perfect blend of fun and facts. I especially liked the interactive technology and the reading corner. Woman who runs it is so creative! Thank you!

Our family loved the Pooseum. We found the owner extremely friendly and a wealth of knowledge. We took turns reading the text as a family, enjoyed the hands on aspects and definitely learnt a lot. Definitely worth a visit.
After reading many reviews, I feel it's important to add-
The Pooseum is a museum. Most small children do not thrive in museums and quickly voice their lack of enjoyment. This has absolutely nothing to do with the owner and everything to do with the cognitive development of small children. My daughter is 9 and my son is 13, their attention span is longer and behaviour better; so they found education and enjoyment at the Pooseum.
Also the museum is privately funded. The owner has sourced all resources and information herself. So, no the museum isn't overly large but it is full to the brim with interesting information. The only way small businesses will be sustainable in our current climate is if we spend our time and money visiting them.
Toyah Sansum — Google review
A MUST VISIT location if you have kids or not (would be best if kids can read to get the most out of the museum).
When we first entered we thought it was a small museum however, after spending more than two hours there, it’s clear to see Karin has made the space into an interactive and very informative experience.
Our kids LOVED it and the highlights were the samples of animal poo, the interactive fart buttons, the animal animation program and Karin. Karin the owner is passionate, knowledgeable and makes sure she is available to help showcase the museum and answer all of the kids questions.

Very interesting. Lots to read, see and interact with. Could spend hours there learning about different ways animals poop and all things dung related.

Love this place! Small but very informative. Karin is amazing!!! How i wish there is a pooseum tshirt that i can buy.
Peng Hann — Google review
Interesting museum but I think too expensive for families for what it is. A Cleaner made me feel uncomfortable by following us around and continually cleaning where we touched interactive items. Totally unnecessary post COVID
Louise Ritchie — Google review
Great little spot. This suits people who want to get into the details of all types of poo. Found it very informative and you can learn a lot if you choose to spend the time. It’s all contained in 1 room so do not expect that this is a large place to look around. If you like to take your time and learn then this is the place for you.
Jay Bee — Google review
Who would’ve thought there’s so much to learn about poop! Thank you Karin for putting this place together. We enjoyed our visit, and if I do visit again in the future, I’d dedicate more time to go through everything.
I must also say despite the subject matter, the place is kept meticulously clean. The toilet is a must see.

Leanne O'Brien — Google review
Firstly, its all about animal poop. Not human, my fault should have read the reviews. It's tiny and cost $18 per adult. Theres too much reading and not enough play for kids in my opinion. I would rate it higher at a $10 entry fee. There is definitely some interesting facts and plenty to read, but I wouldn't rave about it unfortunately

Craigow Vineyard is a picturesque winery that offers a delightful experience in the charming autumn setting. The owner, Barry, graciously accommodates guests on short notice and provides a wide selection of wines to enjoy. This vineyard stands out as every wine tasted here is enjoyable, which is quite uncommon. It's an ideal place to relax and savor a few drinks while engaging in conversations with Barry about his experiences and the rich history of the vineyard itself.
Had a great time chatting with our host Daniel who was a fountain of information about the vineyard and local history. From their 2022 riesling, sauvignon blanc, to the pinot noir and sparkling merlot - all were of high quality for this region. Our group loved coming here with it's less pretentious style and friendly atmosphere.

We had a beautiful afternoon enjoying the wine tasting with Barry the owner providing great company and passionate commentary on each glass we tasted.
French influence is seen in many of the wines made here.
Our favourites were the two Rieslings and the Sparkling Merlot (a rare find).
Definitely recommend checking this small family run business out if you are in Tasmania.

Outstanding. We hopped on a wine tour and visited a number of winery. But on reflection this was the best. We also got lost in Barry’s favourite. Go here.

Barry is an absolute gentleman with great life experience and plenty of stories.
We arrived later than planned but Barry, the owner, was still very accommodating and friendly. I have visited vineyards in France and across Australia and this is by far my favourite experience. The wine is amazing and I feel I should really keep this a secret as well but I think they deserve some publicity and recognition. Will recommend to all my friends visiting Tasmania.

My husband and I were lucky to be the only ones in the vineyard on a beautiful autumn afternoon. The owner, Barry was kind enough to accommodate us on short notice. Loved the selection of wines - I liked every wine I tasted here, which has never been the case before. It was great to share a few drinks with the owner, learn about his experiences and about the vineyard itself which has a rich history. This trip to Craigow Vineyard was unplanned but very very glad it happened :) only good things to say about this place.

Coal River Farm is a modern Australian cuisine farmhouse kitchen that specializes in small batch cheeses and artisanal chocolates. The establishment was visited during Easter Sunday, where the staff was overwhelmed with customers. Despite some areas being messy, the marzipan chocolate was exceptional with a taste sensation. True marzipan has a set percentage of almonds, which this establishment seemed to have used. They offer cheese and meals as well and have an unusual building design.
Absolutely loved this place!
A variety of chocolate, you can view chocolate being made.
The staff is polite and very helpful.
The place is rustic on the outside and pretty and nice on the inside with some fantastic views.

The food at coal river farm was amazing! We stopped here expecting some small cheese tasting (which they didn't have, but they had a ton of cheeses to buy) but got this amazing lunch. We had a pie with garlic feta and mushroom, foccacia with olive oil and balsamic, and this sensational honey crumbed brie. All the food was excellent.

We went here for afternoon coffee on Easter Sunday. The place had been hit by a tornado of customers it showed in the faces of the besieged staff who still tried their best. Pretty messy in places too. But that aside, the chocolate is to die for. I had marzipan which was a taste sensation. True marzipan has a set percentage of almonds and I reckon this was true marzipan. The coffee was Ok and my daughter had signature hot white chocolate which she loves. I see they do cheese and meals also. A bit of a strange looking building. Definitely worth a visit but maybe try to pick a non holiday.

Amazing cheese and chocolate. Staff very friendly.
We had the high cheese that gives you 4 decent portions (the photos don't do it any justice) cheese of your choice and lavish (cracker - very yummy) and 6 different chocolates of your choice. We had to bag our chocolates as we were too full from the cheese.
The feta and the blue cheese are a ripper.
Thank you.

Great farm restaurant serving high cheese. The cheese selection was pretty good, but wish they had more variety of cheeses, like Gouda or more cheddar. The cheeses we did get were delicious. The high cheese also came with chocolates. All of it paired so well with wine. It was a great experience! Definitely recommend. There is also a friendly goat in the yard in a small fenced in area. Go say hello!

I was excited to visit and at the prospect of the pigs, goats and chickens as well as good food. I’d purchased a selection of cheeses at the Salamanca markets (delish) and was keen to visit.
The food was amazing, as was the scenery, however it’s a bit run down on the “farm” side of things. It’s a shame because there’s a lot of potential there and it’s a great spot for families to have lunch and the kids to see a mini farm.
But the staff were so lovely and the goat and Guinea pigs were cute.

Whether you're looking to have some breaky, lunch or a cheese plate with some delicious wine & chocolate... Coal River Farm is the place to be!
My partner and I are from Melbourne and had a little holiday down at Tassie. We were fortunate enough to be staying just around the corner from this amazing restaurant, which means we were there nearly every day!
We tried all their cheeses from their range and had to say their ash log was by far our favourite!
And don't get us started on their chocolate collection... The best we have ever had! We made sure to take some back home to share with our family.
The team were all amazing, so sweet and attentive especially Chilli the goat!

Lots of potential but could do with some upgrades. The signage was rather old and the fantastic views across to Mount Wellington, the Hobart CBD and the mouth of the Derwent were obscured by vegetation. It is not clear where exactly you can/should walk around the fortifications so be prepared for backtracking and possible slips/falls as you wander around. It would be useful if a single path could be designated that takes in all of the main features with updated, sequential information along the way in order to allow visitors to get the most out of this excellent location and the history it preserves.

Interesting place to visit, easy to look around and explore. It would have been cool to be able to access the tunnels or get more info, as I didn’t feel I could completely absorb the experience or got to understand some little pieces of it.
You can probably see everything in around 15min.

This is a great lookout and historical lookout place very close driving distance from Hobart CBD. There are plenty of parking spaces available, and there are plenty of grassy areas around to set up a picnic. The views of the harbour are amazing. St. John's Catholic church was built in 1836, and is considered the oldest Roman Catholic church in Australia. Good job! A lovely place and well maintained. A nice place to have a quick pray and then amble about the churchyard and read the epitaphs on the tombstones. Many date from the nineteenth century.
Excellent place to walk if you don't mind the odd hill. Also good for walking dogs. The tracks are many and various. Probably the most challenging is from Waverley St, and involves more than 200 stone steps.

If you come expecting lots of bold coloured flowers you have the idea of the site wrong, this area is conserving nationally important species. The history and rock features of the site add interest however, bikers think they rule the place which for me ruins it a bit.

It's a nice spot and the first world war memorials are well presented. Having said that, the walking tracks are not well formed past the memorial and it can be a steep hike in spots. Definitely not pram friendly, but kids should be able to walk most of the park.
The views from the top of the hill are a very nice reward for your walk.

Great for dog walks but watch out for the bike riders especially in weekends, they come trading down the tracks and will scared both you and your animals.

The toilet facilities are always clean and tidy. There is a large grass area for other activities.

This is a brilliant park offering heaps for kids and adults even children in wheelchairs providing a specially designed swing .
The playground is well fenced and colourful and cleverly put together.
For the adults and fitness inspired there is a nice grassed fitness area with a range of equipment great toilet vacillating old and young and a covered bbq aria .
The positioning of the park takes advantage of water views and if a very generous public area.

We recieved a special personal tour while on our honeymoon in Tasmania. It was an absolute highlight. We were shown every nook and cranny, and the museum was so informative and interesting. A fabulous piece of history and a total nerd paradise. We were extremely lucky!
South Arm Beach is a picturesque stretch of coastline featuring an extensive sandy peninsula, tree-covered dunes, boat houses and a jetty. It boasts several small beaches that provide excellent opportunities for swimming and fishing. This tranquil hideaway is ideal for beach-goers seeking a peaceful atmosphere to relax in. The beautiful natural surroundings and great water conditions make South Arm Beach a must-visit destination for anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life.
Beautiful spot with plenty of sandy area to seat around and still have your own space.
Near the jetty and a few rocks.
Public toilets and general store nearby, right at the entrance to the beach.
No shade

The beach is nice, pretty long. But faced hard time to find out the entrance. Most of the entrance were under private property, so didn’t enter. And finally when got one entrance there were no legitimate place to park the car.

Beach wasn't that wow as we expected. First, We couldn't find the way to enter the beach. Only 02 local people were there and the beach was smelly and felt dirty. No restaurants or anything near around. Waste if time.
My favourite beach. Shallow enough for the kids and deep enough for the adults. There is a bit of shade if you wander along the beach to find it and a big park and BBQ area for a nice gathering of your favourite souls. Also a fish n' chip shop right on the corner. A very family friendly beach.

Love this part of Bellerive Beach, opposite Lower River Road. It has the rock pools on the far left where you can see a lot of mussels and other mollusks like chitons. We also like watching the sea gulls hunt for food on the shallow waters or on the rock pools themselves. It is a part of this beach that is not very frequented even by locals, since it was summer, still overcast but not overly cold or hot, the rock surfaces were not wet and slippery so it was fun exploring to see what we could find there.

The current location (as at 15 July 2020) of this point of interest (Bellerive beach) is incorrect. Bellerive Beach is the large beach near Blundstone Area.
The photos are correct but the location is wrong
