Nice main cellar door within a rustic looking shed with good heating.
Great outdoor areas with sand pit and farm animals for kids to entertain themselves.
Cheese plate was good, might have been elevated a notch further with some truffle honey 🍯 accompanying zucchini pickles and fresh tomato relish from Franklin Road Preserves were used - fantastic. 👍
Easy booking on their website. Allowed “purchase” of tickets for non-drinkers (eg pregnant or designated drivers).

Really warm and inviting cellar door experience. Was pleased that Zac accommodated us at short notice. Good amount of seating inside and out. We had a table outside so glad they had the open fire pits going to keep us warm. Tasting was $15 a head for 6 wines which is on the pricier end. Very good wines although not my preferred in the region. Kids had a great time in the petting zoo and sand pit. Happy with the complimentary Tesla charging stations too.

Great wine tasting experience. Served by three legends Chris , Chewy and Lauren, made us feel so welcome, explained everything so well and were very patient with our questions:D , such excellent service.
Heifer’s Pinot Gris and Merlot were the winners for us.
Kids loved the animals at the farm. Highly recommended, especially if kids are accompanying you. You can enjoy wine tasting while kids are busy with lovely animals at the farm. 5 starts , will be back whenever visiting orange.

We had a lovely time with our family in the winery. Kids are allowed in the winery as they have a petting farm, sand pit for kids to enjoy while their parents taste the wine. 15$ each for wine tasting and the staffs were really good.

Absolutely loved the rustic farm vibe of this winery, and it was very welcoming to the kids. It's the perfect place to get out with the family, for a relaxing afternoon with delicious wine and cheese platters. All while sending the kids off to run around, play in the sandpit or pat the animals. Their range of preserved goods is also fantastic, I highly recommend buying a jar of their Zucchini Pickles.
Its also extremely picturesque, so make sure to take some snaps!

Beautiful place to visit! We did a wine tasting while the kids had a mini lunch and got to see all the animals that are there. The atmosphere is relaxed and the grounds are amazingly kept, with some beautiful wines to try!

Beautiful venue! There are farm animals out the back to keep the kids entertained. We had the cheese platter with our wine tasting which was amazing! Couldn’t resist buying a jar of the marinated figs to take home 🤤

Absolutely amazing!
A beautiful must visit winery.
If you have children this place is a winner!
Farm animals for the kids to see, outdoor sandpit and games, plenty of room for them to run around while you enjoy a cheese platter and wine (and they even do kids platters!)
The best

We had an amazing experience doing a wine tasting with chewy as our host. He was super friendly and down for a chat to explain the local history of the area and vineyard. We were there on a rainy day and the vibe was very cosy and relaxing. The cheeseboard was also delicious! We’d recommend everyone put this as a stop on their tour if exploring different wineries in orange

Dom kindly let me through without a booking. Wines are nice, loads of seating with a sandpit / play area for kids. The draw card are the animals 100%

Friends recommended Heifer as must visit winery and we can see why. Very Instagrammable with friendly service, superb wines and even a farmyard animals, there was something for everyone. They even convinced me to give Chardonnay another go and I am a convert. It even came with EV chargers suitable for a Tesla or BYD which made our friends very happy to charge up whilst wine tasting 🍷

We shared a great wine tasting experience in the rustic building with the service and knowledge provided to be acceptable.
You’re best to visit whilst there’s no rain to ensure you can experience outdoor paddocks with the farm animals.

Heifer Station Wines in Orange is a delightful, family-friendly winery. It offers a wonderful setting for children to enjoy, allowing adults to savor a cheese platter and wine tasting in peace. The winery offers a diverse selection that even a novice can appreciate, highlighting the clear distinction between stainless steel and classic oak barrel wines. Accessibility is a highlight, catering to both wheelchair users and prams, with areas both indoors and outdoors. This place is highly recommended for a pleasurable visit!

Love every minute of this wine tasting experience. The wine makers were experienced and thoughtful when addressing her audience and was very generous in suggesting other avenues to explore. We had a wonderful time and will be back.
This is a family friendly place with a little petting zoo and some fun old school games to play!
Good times!!

A truly beautiful and cosy wine tasting experience. This cellar door was full of charm as was Chewy our wine tasting host. Stopping in towards the end of a day with a friend we were warmly met. The wines themselves were also poured with pizzaz and charm. We loved the cheese board so much we ended ordering a second. Thanks team for a truly beautiful destination to sample your story in a glass in great surroundings.

We were a group of six who enjoyed a very informative and fun filled afternoon …. loved the wine tasting experience and the cheese platter which was a big hit. Nice facilities including a welcoming fire place …. a very interesting winery with expansive grounds to explore. Had a lot of laughs with “hanson” “Chewy” …. a likeable and friendly lad, a bit cheeky with a good sense of humour who certainly knew his wines. A visit is highly recommended.
Hey Chewy …. Sharon thinks you’d be great on Farmer Wants A Wife 🤣
My husband and I came to Orange, and visited Orange Information Centre. We spoke to Susan about what to see and do. She was a wealth of knowledge and very professional and friendly. She is an asset to this town and so welcoming to visitors. I recommend visiting the Orange Information Centre to help you start and plan your stay at Orange.

The ladies at the info centre were so helpful and understanding of our modest goals to get long term (all day), free parking and scones. We got the free, long term parking and scones. Google was not as helpful. So, yeh, ten points Information Centre. Lovely building too, good architecture and nice aircons on a windy, warm day.

Visited Orange this weekend to see what the area offered. Found the visitor information centre very helpful. They have a local history Museum for free and a good Cafe next door. Used the information received to get around. Especially the tip of a great curry restaurant Maithil Rasoi see my review. The wineries trip was a bit disappointing as the ones who had restaurants were booked solid and didn't have enough staff to serve. The views from the Borrodell wine tasting lookout were fantastic. See my separate review. They have plenty of maps and suggestions on where to go, even when it's raining!

Lovely staff here. The volunteers at the front desk and in the museum section were very nice. We had a great chat with a local woman who was keen to highlight some of the nice restaurants in town, as well as giving us some advice on the markets and other activities that were on over the weekend. You can get some great guides and maps here. This is especially good if you're looking for "what's on" guides. Sometimes the smaller venues or events are not listed online, so it's good to drop in and get flyers for local art galleries etc.

Clean and tidy with a few little souvenirs and supplies. Bought some local olive oil which was the main reason to go there. Plenty of parking in the street. Little Cafe next door although didn't go there, we went into the museum though.
We did the paired wine and cheese tasting, which was a nice option to highlight the various wine's characteristics. They also do a paired chocolate version as well. We were hosted by owner winemaker James who shared the vineyard history as well as the recent vintage details, which all added to the experience.

I love taking guests to Rowlee Wines. Nicole & James and their staff are welcoming & so knowledgeable about their wines which I love, my favourite being their Arneis!
We are blessed living in this wonderful cool climate district with so many great Cellar Doors to visit & wines to try & buy! I certainly would urge anyone visiting Orange to put Rowlee Wines on their “to visit” list!

Booked the picnic for lunch and it was a great experience! Such a thoughtful assortment of food and having the choice of which wine to include was a nice touch! We went for the sparkling, which was delicious!!
The weather was miserable but they have a lovely indoor seating area for picnickers! Lovely experience and will recommend to anyone!

Not being experts in this field it did seem an odd combination but worthy of a visit. If you’re visiting the area this is a definite must-do.
our host , welcomed us on our arrival to a very personal and private experience. He is so passionate about the work and in the time we spent there we learned so much not only about the wines but also about the family heritage.
Each chocolate paired with a different wine worked beautifully and, unusually with a wine tasting I actually really liked all the wines we tasted. They were all so smooth.
Would definitely recommend this experience if you’re on a visit to Orange .

It is with great disappointment that they charge the “designated driver” the same price as the friends who could choose to pay snd taste the wines, even though I only wanted water. This was not negotiable, I was it allowed to sit with my friends, without being charged. This is not supporting responsible drinking. As a designated driver, I felt very insulted and not respected for my role of safe and responsible drinking. We of course left without tasting any wines.

all the wines are fab. Pinot Gris and Cabernet a stand out and would highly recommend the cheese pairing!

Fabulous winery, just outside Orange. They have some great wines, from the White's through to the Reds. The staff are very friendly and know a lot about their wines. Good prices as well. The Chardonnay, Rose, Syrah and Cab Merlot are the stand out for me.

I recently visited the cellar door with high expectations, I arrived at 3:15 pm, well before their 4 o'clock closing time for tastings. Strangely, despite three free tables, they wouldn't let us tasting without an explanation. Disappointing and confusing experience.

Surprisingly with the cool climate grapes and how wet it was in the last two years, they still able to produce some quite wonderful wines. Not like the typical reds you see in other regions. There's distinct but well balanced characters makes these reds so easy to drink. Got away with few bottles of the syrah and cabernet. Tasting pairing with the cheese is great and we'll worth the experience.

One of the best tastings we've done in a while, the staff were knowledgeable and friendly and the wines were excellent. Nice set up at the cellar door and I didn't meet one wine I didn't enjoy. Tastings were $15 each and bottles were $25-40 with some more expensive options too.
The Pinot noir and Syrrah were our highlights.
Dion Pretorius — Google review
Good wines! Wines are delicate, light and flavorful. Wines are easy to drink and you can enjoy a bottle without feeling tipsy too quickly. The wines paired well with the cheese platter. The Fumé Blanc was dry, yet full of flavour and not overwhelmingly sweet. It’s quite delicate and really good. The Cuvée is a delicious sparkling wine (dry like any brut) but still sweet! Staff were professional, warm and were able tell us quite a bit of the history of Orange wines. Highly recommend this winery!

A very beautiful tasting at Rowlee with Nicole and Nick.
These guys are doing everything right; use of varietal specific glassware, pre-pouring the wines so they've opened up and really warm
hospitality and a beautiful setting. Pinots the standout.
Matthew Cumberworth — Google review
Just had one of our best winery experiences. Mary, Nicole and James spent a lot of time with us explaining everything from the wines, varietal glasses by Reidel, matching chocolates (to dogs, banking and many other topics in between).
The service and friendliness was exceptional and the wines were amazing. If you are looking for a bespoke experience, their packages are a good option for you.
Very surprised (and disappointed) with other people putting unfair negative reviews. They must have been at the wrong winery.
Cook Park is a Victorian-era city park that offers a variety of attractions including an aviary, Begonia glass house, and fernery. The park is well-maintained and offers free entry with plenty of parking available around its perimeter. It's a great place to spend time with family and friends, especially for children who will enjoy the fountain, pond, swing and birds. Regular events are held throughout the year in addition to the seasonal Begonia display.
Loved this garden. It has many attractions such as an aviary, Begonia glass house and a fernery. Everything was well looked after and can easily spend at least an hour strolling across the gardens. Free entry and plenty of parking around the perimeter of the garden.

I used Cook Park as the background for a cake smash and it went fantastic. The grounds are beautiful - even in winter. The grass is green, the flowers are bright. There is a playground for the older child to play on while the baby had his photos taken, and the birds in the aviary were fantastic, both kids were obsessed.
There are an abundance of picnic tables, so there's never a shortage of places to sit and enjoy the scenery, and there is parking along all sides of the block so parking is a breeze.

first time I found this park when I'm driving around Orange. it's quite a big for a park with a lot of huge trees. when you have a closer look to the tree, it has a box of description about the tree. apparently some of them is USA origin.
It has aviary park, contain sleepy cockatoos (I really hope they can sleep well 🥺), and some other small colourful birds.
It has female and male toilet. on the way there you can see a water fountain with statue in the middle, some boys pouring water. and there is drinkable water fountain next to it (just a friendly reminder, don't drink from the statue) 😇.

Cook Park truly is a gem in the heart of town. It's amazing how a space so tranquil and peaceful can exist in the midst of all the hustle and bustle.
I particularly enjoyed learning about the history of the park while exploring the different sections, such as the Bagonia greenhouses. It's always fascinating to discover the stories behind these types of public spaces and to see how they have evolved over time.
The park is flat and easy to navigate for people with limited mobility or disabilities.
The stunning old trees are a highlight of the park and add so much character to the space. It's amazing to think about how long they have been there and how much history they have witnessed.
Overall, I would definitely recommend a visit to Cook Park to anyone looking for a serene and informative outdoor experience. It's a great place to escape from the chaos of everyday life and connect with nature and history at the same time.

Very nice place to visit on a Sunday afternoon. I love the amount of trees and the shade they provide. Plenty of chairs and open space for play or to relax. A nice rose garden and a free bird enclosure there as well. Pkenty of duck ponds if you would like to feed the ducks and ducklings. Would highly recommend.

Beautiful medium sized park, with lots to see (much preferred than botanic gardens). Autumn colours drifting into winter browns.
Aviary (talking cockatoos, budgerigars, cockatiels, galahs) - seem happy enough for caged birds (cockatoo eager to hole punch a finger). Fernery and Conservatory (full of flowering Begonias) were shut, but could still look in the windows. Guild craft shop lovely to visit (especially if you like slices and jams / chutnies). Trees are magnificent. Roses wilting for winter.

A lovely lookout, arguably the best around Orange.
Even if you're quite unfit, it's only a 10 minute walk from the car park, though the sign would have you believe it's about double that distance. Some of the steps are quite big, so just take your time.

Magnificent!! Wasn’t expecting what we saw/experienced on the day.
Whilst I did a bit of Google research I was definitely nicely surprised to see it was way better than described in other reviews.
I am not a super fit person but managed to climb all the steps with only one short stop to wait for the wife to catch up. There are quite a few steps and some are quite high but not too difficult. Once at the lookout it was like wow…. The views from the north west to south east were amazing as far as the eye can see.
Can’t wait till the snow arrives so that we can go to the top again and see the snow cover.
Absolutely recommend it.

Philip Shaw Wines is a local boutique winery situated in a beautifully restored turn-of-the-century stone barn. Although some negative reviews were found about their service, it is worth giving them a visit without a booking as they accommodate promptly. They offer wine tastings with tasting plates and have knowledgeable staff to guide you through the experience. The wines are made from locally produced grapes, and they also cater for functions.
We were served by Luke @ Philip Shaw, very friendly, experienced and lovable person. The wine tasting experience, the environment were so much better and memorable. We will not hesitate to visit Philip Shaw again for good wine, good host and an unforgettable time spend. If there were more stars, we will be very happy to give more. 👍👍👍

I recently photographed a beautiful wedding at Philip Shaw Wines and was really impressed with everything. The couple had their wedding ceremony at a local church, but we did wedding photos and had the wedding reception at Philip Shaw Wines. The grounds are large and beautiful and there are lots of different locations and backdrops which makes it really interesting in photos.
The reception was modern and rustic and was absolutely perfect for this wedding. The food was amazing and the staff were outstanding. It was a great experience and an awesome wedding. Can't wait to get back there to shoot more weddings.

We had our daughters wedding here and I can only say exceptional. Firstly the staff could not be better, so polite and helpful. They made everyone feel special, not just the bride and groom. Now the food, the nibbles were fantastic with a great variety. Then came dinner, everything was prepared and presented well, the flavours and quality of the produce was amazing. Lamb, duck and chicken were cooked to perfection. So thank you very much for making the whole day a special one for everybody.

Despite all the bad reviews about the service we decided to give it a go. Got there at 4.10 without a booking (they close at 5), they had only a small family sitting on the outside and one table inside. They accommodate us promptly and the guy that served us was great, guided us through the tasting and fulfilled all our questions.
We had the tasting plate along with the wines and i have to say that topped up our experience. Local produce and good wine. Possibly a bit overrated but they do catering and functions and the location it's pretty nice. Worth a visit if you in town.

The surrounding gardens were beautiful and the roaring fire pits were mesmerising. The wines and cheese platters were delicious. Thank you for having us! Beautiful wines and vineyard! However, we had our tasting in the space near the cellar door and, despite having heaters, it still felt cold inside. It was also the most expensive wine tasting we attended while in Orange and with the least amount of wines to taste. The service was good tough. I guess I was expecting more due to the reviews. It was nice, but definitely not 4.7 stars.

Staff were very knowledgeable with Tom doing the second half of our tasting.
Only suggestion would be to do the whites 1-2 at a time instead of pouring the whole top row in one go so you can take the time to enjoy before trying the rest? Apart from that everything was great!

The park is good but is no match for the Botanical gardens in Sydney. You are better off going to Cook Park.
But if you happen to be here, do enjoy it. Plenty of photography locations inside.

Beautiful garden to have a nice walk. Kid and dog friendly. A must visit on autumn. Just look at the beautiful trees!! A nice and huge playground nearby, and a cute little cafe that provides outdoor seating as well. They made beautiful coffee and food. Too bad we were there after lunch so they have ran out of stuffs that we wanted to try. Would love to visit the garden when it's snowing!

Nice walk around the Gardens with grandkids. They loved the turtles and ducks and birds .Great place for weddings ect picnics with family and friends.

Beautiful and close to the city centre. In autumn they have a few bunch of very beautiful colorful trees but the rest are mostly native and evergreen. Not sure about the spring flowers

An amazing array of Aussie flora. Large grounds. Easy to walk around. A relaxing, calming place to go. Well cared for and inviting.

When we visited the botanical gardens in Orange, we were initially surprised by the abundance of evergreen trees instead of the traditional autumn colours we had expected. However, we quickly realized that the lush greenery was just as beautiful.
One unexpected surprise was the number of fruit trees in the garden. We were delighted to see a variety of fruit trees throughout the gardens. It was a unique and enjoyable experience that we didn't expect to find in a botanical garden.
The garden's dog-friendly policy was also a plus, and we enjoyed seeing other people walking their pets. The park was peaceful and serene, and we appreciated the opportunity to escape the hustle and bustle of the city for a while.
Overall, while the botanical gardens in Orange may not have had the traditional autumn colours we were expecting, we found the lush greenery and abundance of fruit trees to be a wonderful surprise. It's definitely worth visiting if you're in the area and looking for a peaceful place to take a walk, especially if you're a dog owner.

It was a calm walk, very serene. When it doesn't snow, it's not as pretty but then you get to focus on yourself and enjoy your walk learning about the different flowers and how they arrived in Orange.

A large space
More like a huge park than a botanic garden with mainly Australian flora
Autumn would be the best time to go, as I'm sure the colours would be vibrant
Great place to relax and read

What a beautiful botanic gardens! We didn't have time to see it all, but I loved the thoughtful collections. I especially loved the rosacea collection, the apple and pear orchard with windmill and the weeping elm. I look forward to seeing more next time. Plenty of spots to sit and enjoy. Bathroom facilities and cafe nearby. Looking forward to visiting again.

A magical playground for kids of all ages. Let your imagination run wild in this mystical place. So much fun and adventure to be had!
Nadim Accari — Google review
As we approached it looked fabulous, however, on inspection of the detail we had concerns. The structures are great, however, general maintenance has not been occuring, I fear for the child who get a splinter. Additional some of the feature lack effort and direction you would see from a more professional bigger city playgrounds (a few exposed nails and dated areas). All up a decent park in need of some TLC

It is a great playground to take children to, have different play equipment to choose from. The Cafe there serves lovely food at reasonable prices , staff are friendly, depending on the weather, you can sit outside to have something to eat or drink

Great playground, truly amazing set up for kids and opportunities for parents to either engage or observe. Plenty of room for multiple simultaneous bbqs.
The Cafe nearby was excellent and the Botanic Gardens was a perfect wind down after play. I was quite jealous that there was no park like this in Canberra. The contributors to the park were named throughout the park, so you could sense the real community value in the quality of the park.

Such a special adventure playground. It has all the essentials- toilets 🚻, barbecues, picnic tables and shade. The wooden playground has been constructed thoughtfully to give kids of different ages fun experiences. There are swings for different abilities, fun bridges that wobble, slides, rock climbing grips, and plenty of monkey bars. Everywhere we turned there was another special thing to discover. Next to the stunning botanic gardens and a lovely little Cafe (eat botanic) this park is a must for visiting Orange with children.

Recently visited this winery and was pleasantly surprised. Very friendly staff and down to earth who didn’t rush us and spent plenty of time going through their wines. The wine tasting process was a great experience.
They have premium wines at good prices. Peter and his son Daniel were great hosts.
We walked away with a box full of beautiful wines. We will definitely be ordering again soon as I can see us drinking these wines quickly - too good to resist.
Highly recommend and definitely worth visiting them when in Orange - you definitely won’t be disappointed.

We attended Mortimer's as a group of seven today. It was a really wonderful experience. The cellar door was run by a very knowledgeable and personable gentleman, Shuaib ( my guess re spelling) and he explained the history of the vineyard and the wine making process with much enthusiasm and panache. We had the cheeseboard- a delicious and artistically presented treat for the palate, and I would highly recommend this. This winery is a family owned and run business, and the wines and the wine tasting experience is enhanced because of this. We were also impressed by the wine quality over the entire range. My husband and I are locals but we will be back bringing visiting friends!

Was in Orange last week to celebrate my 50th. After visiting a few local wineries I must say the standout for me was by far Mortimer Wines. From the warm reception to the overall service, nothing was too much for the staff. The wine list / variety catered to all of us and there was plenty to like about their wines. Decided to become a member of their wine club and am looking forward to receiving my periodical top ups throughout the year. Thanks again and we’ll definitely be back soon.

We had an appointment at 12pm and were the first group to arrive on a quiet Friday afternoon in January. We were personally greeted at the driveway by a friendly staff member and offered a cheese board to start with. A new bottle of crisp, fresh sparkling was opened promptly and off we went with the tasting list! Next we were greeted by the owner Peter and given the lowdown on the rest of the list. There was some healthy competition between the Australian and French winemakers and a few fun stories told regarding the history of each wine. Thanks for this insight, Peter.
We tried all the wines from the standard tasting list and were pleasantly surprised when we were offered a few wines off the exclusive members tasting list. The tasting was held outdoors (covid safe) in the grounds of the old March School House and it is just the cutest environment. A pleasant experience and we will certainly be back!

Lovely family owned winery. We were greeted and served by friendly staff who seemed genuinely happy to host us. The wines were delicious and the space is very carefully laid out so that you can either choose to taste in view of the kids and the playground or you can tuck yourselves away behind the hedges in the courtyard. Overall a relaxing and enjoyable experience. Highly recommend and very family friendly.

Arriving in the early afternoon, Mortimer’s winery provided the perfect opportunity for our conference attendees to network and enjoy a perfect afternoon in the Orange winter sun. The welcome was excellent the staff phenomenal and the wine superb. The ambiance of the winery provided a fitting end for our conference delegates to stop reflect and recharge. The venue easily supported our 80+ guess that included families with children. The playground proved a hit while the gorgeous fire pits provided a warmth and atmosphere fitting to the rural focus of our event. I am sure to return, as are many of our delegates. The selection, presentation and taste of their wines is a great reflection of the incredible wine of the Orange region. Thank you to the Mortimer family Robbie’s vocals and music provided next level ambiance. A must if visiting the region and an excellent function location. Well done see you again soon

The location, the service and the wines are outstanding. We can highly recommend Mortimer Wines Cellar Door as a must see when visiting Orange and we are already looking forward to returning soon. Their Member's Club is excellent with quality and satisfaction assured. Established in the mid nineties, Mortimer Wines is a young winery but is already making exceptional award winning wines. Peter and Julie, their family and staff are all Top Shelf.

My husband and I had a wonderful tasting experience at Mortimers this afternoon. We were greeted by Casey and he could not have been more welcoming, attentive or knowledgeable. As it was quite cool outside we appreciated the lovely fire and cozy room for our tasting. Tables and chairs were also available outside.
The premium tasting list was quite extensive and all of the wines were delicious. We particularly enjoyed the Chardonnay, Merlot and Rose. We came away with a couple of boxes of wine and a membership to their wine club, (which is an excellent deal).
We are so happy that we found this winery.
If you only have time to go to one winery in Orange pick Mortimers. Don’t miss it!

Peter and his son, Daniel were amazing hosts on our visit over the AUSTRALIA day weekend.
We were warmly welcomed and hosted with the utmost service. They were both passionate about their product, and proud of the quality and it really shows.
The wine has a lot of character that others just don’t have. It really stood out from so many of the other wines we had from nearby Vineyards, and the fact that they sat with us and shared their experiences and family stories with us was just the icing on the cake.
Could not recommend enough, with their cellar door in an old school w fireplace and comfy armchairs, to the kids climbing castle, swings and space to kick a ball, this place has it all for families and couples alike.
Can’t wait to come back and visit!

Highly recommend hosting an event at Mortimers. We held an end of conference lunch at Mortimers for approximately 70 people. The lead up to the day was seamless, and they provided us with great advice around beverages, Fire pits, music and catering. Robbie Mortimer on guitar was a perfect addition and many of the families in attendance were grateful for the playground facilities for children. The service on the day was exceptional, and we were so thankful to the Mortimer family for their contribution to the success of our event.

An amazing experience. From the moment we arrived we new it was going to be a wonderful afternoon. Peter made us feel like family and took the time to share information about the wine, history and the family connection to their delicious wines. After the tasting we had a beautiful picnic lunch and enjoyed their Merlot. We had such a wonderful experience that we canceled the rest of our afternoon and just sat in the sun. Peter and his staff are so kind and made us feel so welcome. As for the wine …. We loved everything and you can taste the love and passion in every sip. Highly recommended. Do yourself a favour and make sure you visit Mortimer’s when you are in Orange.

We booked a wine tasting for a family trip to Orange. Mortimers caters for families in the best way they have a big open area and play equipment for the kids.
We met Peter, who is a legend of our footy club, The Bulldogs, and were lucky enough to spend a good amount of time talking to him about our clubs future, while tasting his exquisite wines.
Unfortunately we didn't vook to watch the NRL grand final there that night, which was going to be screened on a huge screen with special guest commentators on the night.
We will just have to go back!!
Oh!! and his wines are great!!

Was there on Friday and had a wonderful wine tasting experience attended by Peter himself. He was generous and humorous. Sharing with us his life stories. Awesome and well balanced reds - if you ever go for a tasting, I highly recommend their merlot, cabernet sauvignon, and most of all, their twin series shiraz’s (they’re absolutely to die for). The service was impeccable. The highlight for me was meeting Dan though, it made an Eels tragic’s day!

We held our engagement party at Mortimer's and the process from start to finish was fantastic. Daniel went above and beyond, replying to emails quickly and liaising with other vendors to ensure the day went off without a hitch.
All our guests were raving about the venue, especially those that had travelled. We had lovely sunny weather but we had a wet weather plan from the beginning thanks to Dan, taking away any concerns that may have arisen.
It was an all round beautiful event and the local wines were the cherry on top - especially the sparkling!

Excellent cellar door experience! Friendly, approachable interactions and great wine. Utilising the former school room adds extra character, not that the wines or the staff need it.
Visited the cellar, was not busy which enhanced the experience. Simon was passionate about the wines and went out of his way to give us a great experience, even letting us try a wine not in the tasting list. Wines were very nice, easy to drink. The view was gorgeous.

We headed out to Nashdale Lane Wines so my son in law could pick up some old vineyard posts.
When we arrived I met the owner Nick, and he kindly offered to show me around the some of the vineyard, so I jumped into the Polaris and off we went.
His vineyard is in pristine condition and he gave me a little insight to the vines and when they were planted and pruning techniques he uses.
It was really interesting.
Then we were booked in for a wine tasting, we chose the Premium Tasting set and the wines were amazing. Great flavours, perfectly balanced and delicious.
Our hosts were Tanya, Nicks wife & Simon, they took us through the journey of wines and had a wealth of knowledge, it was a great experience. The wines were so good we bought 6 mixed, although I wanted to buy the whole range, I’m saving them for my next visit out there.
I highly recommend you visit Nashdale Lane Wines, you won’t be disappointed.
I’m looking forward to going back again soon.

This place is one of my favourite wineries and definitely most top favourite in Orange. Beautiful scenery, the wine is top notch with the whites being amazing and the host was great to chat to with great information outside of your normal fluff from some wineries about the wine having notes of this and tones of that. The Orange Regional Gallery is a contemporary space consisting of three galleries that showcase Australian artists' paintings, photos, and sculptures. The gallery has undergone recent renovations which have added new galleries and an auditorium/cinema. Visitors are amazed by the variety of artworks on display, making larger metropolis galleries envious. In addition to showcasing how different artists portray the land in orange, visitors can appreciate each artist's unique point of view.
Great place to experience the art culture of the Orange city. Orange has been home to a lot of great Australian artists including Banjo Patterson.
Plenty of parking around and this place is free to visit. Right in the middle of the city and can be a good place to visit if you are driving through the town.

Borrodell Wines is a vineyard that offers luxurious cottages and suites for accommodation. It also features a SkyBar and cellar door for wine tastings and elegant dining experiences. However, there may be instances when events like weddings could interfere with reservations, resulting in missed opportunities to enjoy set menus for long lunches.
We've visited twice, 18 months apart, and both times we've seen this winery as the memory of the trip. Being able to sit behind the huge glass windows, and watch the light start to fade across the valley is great. And add to that a nice glass or two of wine, and a cheeseboard, and it's been a really memorable moment. Don't rush in, do a wine tasting, and rush out. It's definitely best appreciated slowly.
Next time, we plan to book ahead for lunch and appreciate the fine cooking that others write about

Turned up for the set menu long lunch at $85 pp but they had a wedding So we missed out. We would have booked but it was a $50 non refundable deposit per person and there was 7 of us. Oh well we did the wine tasting. Jock was friendly. Bought some wine and went to the local pub for amazingly good country meals. Saved ourselves around $800. Views were the best in Orange though. Still a great experience but a shame to be turned away when we called the day before and could have been informed the venue was not available for the long lunch.

This place impressed. The bar area is new and overlooks the valley and vineyard. A great way to chill and sip your favour wine. The locally made lemon lime deserves a mention. The best sellers is the pinot noir which is must try. The great service and best thing is if you spend over $100 your tasting cost of free. Love the place and cheese plate.

Not much more than a beautiful space with a great view. The wines are very underwhelming, the service is poor with staff not even sure how to pronounce wine varieties and the tasting is overpriced for what is 2 small sips of cheap tasting wine in each glass. It's quite sad given how beautiful the building and its location are.

Our group of 6 had a very disappointing lunch at the Sisters Rock restaurant at Borrodell winery. The views are wonderful but the service was terrible (had to wait 70 mins after our mains to receive desserts; and that was after asking twice) and the food was very overpriced ($90 for two courses of very basic, small meals that were badly cooked). The steak was gristly, over-cooked and served with only two tough kale leaves as the ‘garden greens’ promised on the menu. There are no other sides we could order to help pad out the small servings. Our waiter was bored and uninterested to the point of being rude.
Don’t waste your money at this place - plenty of better options.

We very recently got married at Borrodell, and we are extremely happy with every single part of Borrodell's role in it from planning to execution!
We had both the ceremony and reception on-site, both of which were beautiful. It was raining all day in the lead up to the ceremony and the Borrodell team, led by the amazing Katherine, were so agile in moving the ceremony undercover and then back out to the Rose Garden again when the rained cleared 30 mins before the ceremony start time. It's almost as if Katherine has the almighty Weather Department on speed dial and was able to call in a favour for us!
Katherine in particular was half the reason we chose to get married at Borrodell. When we originally viewed the venue we were obviously impressed by the beauty and spaciousness, but in Orange there's no lack of stunning venues to choose from. The deciding factor truly came down to Katherine. We were so blown away by her professionalism, knowledge, and straightforward approach that we knew that planning a wedding at Borrodell would be made a dream if we had her on our team. Even on the day of the wedding, we had guests coming up to us to tell us how impressed by her they were - especially with how accommodating she was with some of the small children who needed some quiet time while the parents got to eat in peace and celebrate with us.
The next day, we went to clear out all our decorative items and signage and the staff had already collected everything into one neat place so we could easily just take things up to the car without all the extra running around (which is a lifesaver if you've partied a bit too hard the night before).
We also stayed in one of the suites (Somerset) while our bridal party and other close friends stayed in the cottages (Chardonnay & Truffles), all of which were gorgeous, cozy, and spacious enough to get ready in.
As far as food is concerned, we have experience in both the wedding catering and just dining in at the restaurant as a small group. Delicious food, no complaints whatsoever. I only wish I had the recipe for the beef cheeks to recreate it myself!
If I could give Borrodell 10 stars, I would. For anyone considering Borrodell for their upcoming wedding - DO IT, YOU WON'T REGRET IT!!

Had the worst wine tasting experiece here..
We visited the bar before so thought we would go back for wine tasting. Big mistake. We arrived and the lady couldn't find our booking which was fine. It was the wine tasting that was beyond embarrasing. The staff came over, did not explain anything about the selections, just what kind of wine & what should drink first and walked away...a while back, he came back with red wine which included cherry port?!?! And the only red wine served was pinot noir. No explainations about the wine as well, not even a wine list... We decided to leave after the tasting and we got a few bottles regardless. We asked 'can we pay by Amex? The lady didn' even look at us & just replied 'No' and that was it...Poor service but nice view.

Review is for cellar door/Sky Bar wine tasting. View from the tasting room is lovely however the wine tasting experience was not on par with other Orange wineries. Tasting fees were $12 for 3 tastings or $20 for 6. They only had 6 wines to taste. Don't have a problem with tasting fees but if you purchase wine usually something is refunded back off your purchase. Of the 6 wines the rose was OK and we purchased 6 but for the 2 of us where we had 3 each ie 6 in total they added the fee of $24 onto our purchase, not deducted. Only other wine in our opinion that was worth considering was the pinot noir but not at $45 a bottle. The The person serving the wine was not engaged and just "reading the back of the label"

Experience started out great, but unfortunately the staff members lied to us about a reserved table, the party in question were late as the member of staff told us, also the wasn’t a reserved sign on the table as we jumped onto said table straight after a group moved. Entitled pompous people having a winge.
Furthermore the place we were relocated to was horrible on a slope, just don’t lie and be honest people

Unfortunately showing signs of cheaping out.
Views are lovely, but the food um...I can't be polite.
We had a 2 course lunch and didn't bother entertaining the 3rd course. My husband and I came for an anniversary lunch, both had the caprese salad to start, he had the barramundi for main and I had the duck.
The caprese salad lacked direction, the buffalo mozzarella was watery and tasteless (we've travelled Europe extensively and this was not good buffalo mozzerella). The caprese salad (traditionally tomoato, mozzerella and fresh basil), had pear and candied walnuts thrown in. Odd. Not creative, well balanced or intriguing, just odd, like 2 pages of a cookbook got stuck together, if you know what I mean (English trifle anyone?). This starter left us wanting more, but not in a good way.
The mains were again imbalanced, with no sides offered. Hubby's had 8 mung beans and a slab of barramundi. Cooked alright, but unseasoned and the sauce was broken/split.
The duck, well, I left half. Overcooked and chewy. Duck is telling of a chef's experience & skill, and this was not rendered, was cooked well-done and unseasoned. If you get the meat that brown you've gone horribly wrong. Unforgivable and for $75 each you'd really hope for more than a TAFE level have-a-go-henry.

Had lunch at the Sisters Rock restaurant yesterday view amazing service was good but the food was below average. You have a choice between 3 or 4 courses but the first course is compulsory ( as the waitress explained to us so its actually 2 or 3 courses) Serving a hot " compulsory" soup in spring was quite weird it was heavy and over seasoned for a starter...First course we had the quail and Vongole..The Vongole was 85% shells with no meat inside and heavy tomato sauce which was salty..
The quail was extremely greasy being deep fried...
Mains we had the steak and lamb..
We like medium rare the steak and lamb was almost well done and chewy..if there is no choice on meat temp respect the ingredients and cook it mid rare and pink...45 $ per course was ridiculous for the cooking The.salad.was delicious and the view amazing .
More attention to cooking needed and whoever is running the pass needs a lesson in quality control..

Got here after 11 and got told to go away as they weren’t open even tho on Facebook they said open at 11 for wine taste. Would not recommend staff very rude

Great location, unfortunately only one staff member to host all the wine tastings so there was a lack of service with a full house. Champers over priced.
An exceptional experience at the cellar door. Both the organic/vegan friendly wines and the most amazing cheese boards! Get the cured sausage as an extra and it’s all you need for a lovely lunch…thank you guys!

I’ve visited twice and enjoyed the whole experience each time. The wines are outside the square, both the varietals offered and the clean non- interventionist methods used to create the wines. The grounds and Cellar Door are exceptionally beautiful and the food offered with the wines will have you coming back for more! A very pleasant way to spend some time in Orange.
Thank you Deb and Peter 😎

Book online before you go there.
Good atmosphere specially in rainy days.
Cute pet dog will be there to welcome you.
You will get only organic food there.

The service and the wines here are stunning. We felt so welcomed and every wine we tasted was so good. On the way to the cellar door, there were kangaroos with Joey's on the road. The per dog is very loving and likes to play fetch and ball. We walked away with a memorable experience and several sweet petites, Pinot Gris and a bottle of local olive oil. The complimentary platter was a great accompaniment to the tasting. We're looking forward to returning!

So charming! A gorgeous warm atmosphere. Excellent tasting menu and wonderful gourmet treats from the region and home grown nashi pears. Dog friendly too. The delightful owners definitely prefer you to book in advance.
Dave (the owner) is an absolute legend. He’s forgotten more about wine than most people know. He’s actually an actuary by trade but turned his considerable brain power to making wine about 30 years ago. Anyway, The wine is beautiful - particularly the Sauvignon Blanc 2010 vintage (I think) if you can get it, beautiful slightly sweet wine - he’s probably drunk it all himself.

We had a great time tasting with Cath. It was her birthday too and we hope she enjoyed our company.
The wine was delicious - especially the Rose 2023 and the Riesling! We were a group of 6 + a toddler and all will be back again soon!
Thank you, Caroline.

A drop in visit proved welcoming with exceptional service from Caz. A beautiful scenic location with a rustic yet comfortable environment. Beautiful cool climate estate grown wines were exceptional. A real find in the heart of the Orange wineries.

Really great tasting experience - book ahead! There were 13 wines on the list... And we made it through with all. We ended up with several of the rose, merlot and Pinot Grigio. They accept amex and are on shop small.

Caz was amazing ! Explained the history of the family and the vines ! The wine was exquisite! Cellar door pricing was fair and redeemable upon purchase. Should be in top 3 wineries in Orange not top 10 on TripAdvisor!!

The winery was the last on our day of tasting.
Everyone agreed it was a wonderful experience with friendly welcoming staff and lovely wine.
We all bought too much. So be it .
Thankyou for a great finale to our trip to orange
Highly recommended

Gental host and lovely place, we also bought some wines especially the Tristan red wine, we bought some.
Excellent experience. Extremely knowledgeable owner James with lots to share about his sustainable practices. A great business to support for the environmental practices alone.
Delicious wines and a lovely cheese plate. Some games to keep the kids occupied while you relax.
We missed accommodation onsite which would have been great - will be on our list to come back next time..

Here for 4 nights in our caravan. It was a no fuss process to book with James directly. Great spot to set up. Access to toilets and shower. Really good wine tasting experience and got to learn more about the wines, set up and history. Thank you James. Highly recommended.

Third tasting of the day and by far the best with the most reasonable prices.
Enjoyed every wine whites and reds.
Best wines tasted on the day.
Beautiful winery with a rustic appeal.
James knew his stuff and even sat down and tasted the wines with us.
You can even camp on site in the winery with your doggo! Watch this space- we will be back 🥂

Cargo Road Winery was THE BEST! My husband, two kids and I had an absolutely amazing experience camping there. On top of this, the wine is absolutely incredible! Some of the best we’ve tasted. We brought a few bottles back and everyone agrees :) thanks for having us guys! We’ll definitely be back! Next time we’ll definitely try the ravioli in the cafe/restaurant :)

We had a great afternoon at Cargo Road Winery! An extensive list of wines on the tasting menu all delicious and unique to what we've tasted before. The man showing us the wines was very friendly and informative. To top it off this place is dog friendly and the two beautiful whippets were super friendly!

I am somewhat reluctant to write this review because part of me wants to keep Cargo Road winery to myself. Friends came here last year and raved about it and I can see why. Where else can you camp under the stars in a vineyard with sheep to keep you company. A perfect spot to sit and do nothing or at the most, wander up for wine tasting in the afternoon overlooking the valley. Definitely one of our best Easter weekend getaways. Beyond delighted!

Looking for a picturesque simple lunch, my family and I enjoyed wonderful views of the hills and the vines and fabulous hot bowls of various vegetarian ravioli on the deck. Matched with a cracking large glass of Zinfandel and a gentle whippet snoozing under the table. Unassuming, lovely service, and a well-priced half-mixed dozen to try at home.

The most down to earth experience I have ever had at a winery! James: owner, wine producer, sommelier, environmentalist.
The story he paints of how he cares for his vines and even more importantly mother earth through common sense, eco-friendly, and sustainable farming practices will absolutely amaze and inspire you (We spent an hour talking about Soil health and Gardening!)
Every wine I tasted has my seal of approval. I'm not in any way an expert in this field but this experience is worth the trip, wherever you hail from. Out of all the wineries visited by a local. This is truly Orange in a bottle. Give it a go!

Exceptional. Every wine delicious. We could not fault the quality of wines on offer. Sophie was engaging and made the experience one to remember. We will be back! Don't hesitate ☺️

Had a beautiful time in the Zim Loft. The sunsets and views were relaxing and expansive and we watched a beautiful rain storm and pass over the mountains. The staff were lovely and helpful and everyone I met enjoyed the wine. A beautiful location close to Federal falls and other local caves that are well worth a visit.

Did a wine tasting and cheese platter this week, graciously and knowledgeably hosted by Dom. Enjoyed pretty much all the wines (several tasted). Beautiful district views looking out over the vineyard from the upper deck. Also got our complimentary dog fix with Dom's two friendly whippets. Highly recommend.

We camped at Cargo Road Winery for a week over the holidays and loved it. The camping sites are beautifully situated in between the grape vines, nicely spaced out for privacy, the facilities are great and the James and his staff were all lovely. Cherry on top is it's a winery, so great wines, cheese and tasting at your door step!

Beautiful winery with camping. The owner James has great communication and is very accommodating, we had a wonderful overnight stop here, arriving late and still being offered purchase of wine, and then an amazing wine tasting (and great coffee) the following morning. Highly recommended!!

Fabulous afternoon of wine tasting at Cargo Road Wines. Thanks to James and Dom for giving us an insight into what it means to holistically manage a vineyard. The signature Zinfandel is fantastic. Beautiful vistas from the balcony make it the perfect spot for a relaxing vino. Highly recommend.

We had a wonderful, relaxing three day stay at James and Dom’s Winery. Fabulous views, great wine and nibbles and James was very friendly, helpful and informative. The amenities were clean and everything you need. The location was great for experiencing what the area has to offer. The afternoon walks with a wine around the vines with the sunset and views, with our dog, off leash, was simply Devine. Would highly recommend

I went to Cargo Road winery with my family. They have the best cherries.. we enjoyed Cherry picking a lot. Specially kids. I would recommend their Merlot wine as well. It's really good. Great service and friendly environment.

An enjoyable highlight of our visit to Orange. We had a lovely afternoon of wine tasting up on their breezy outdoor deck on a sunny Saturday afternoon. Not too busy. Tasty light food to complement with a host that was very knowledgeable and passionate about their range of wines which were all delightful. Their version of the national staple, the Shiraz, was particularly memorable.
Worth a visit!
The Huntley Berry Farm is highly recommended due to its exceptional concept and mission. However, some fruits and vegetables may be unavailable during certain seasons. The strawberries are incredibly delicious and juicy, offering a truly authentic taste. The quality of the blackberries can be inconsistent. It is advisable to protect oneself from the sun as it can get quite hot during visits. The staff members are friendly and attentive, creating a pleasant atmosphere.
Great place to pick your own fruit and vegetables at very good prices. We have been twice in the last month and grabbed different items each time. Well worth the trip out there.

Lovely place for a walk around. Kids had a blast looking for blackberries. We got some amazing zucchini’s too and you can’t fault the price.

Absolutely fantastic, would definitely recommend!
I love the concept and mission behind this place. Unfortunately given the time of year, there were lots of fruits and vegies which were out of season. The strawberries are the sweetest and most juicy strawberries you'll find! The blackberries were okay, pretty hit and miss.
Would advise good sun protection too as it was quite hot on our visit today (fun nonetheless!)
The staff are all also very helpful and friendly. Hope to be coming back sometime soon for other fruit and vegie seasons :)

Best strawberries I ever had — that’s what strawberries meant to taste like! Gianni and Tony are super nice and welcoming, and the tractor ride was fun too. Great for kids with lots of farm animals. Definitely worth a visit! Will be coming back!

Absolutely loved berry picking here, the people are lovely and this is such a unique experience and good cause given it’s a not for profit.
We made some cute alpaca friends as well!
Definitely recommend.

Super friendly and helpful staff; they gave great advice about which berries were ready to pick. Fun place for the family, just remember to wear boots due to the mud if it’s been raining. Pricing for the berries was great value and the berries themselves were some of the most flavoursome that we’ve eaten in a while. Recommend!!! Thanks for having us.

Absolutely brilliant place for the whole family. It’s always on our list when we visit Orange. There’s always plenty to pick and the staff / team are lovely. Well worth it, bring your hat and a water bottle if it’s a warm day.

Always an amazing day.
Staff/owners are super friendly and helpful, you can tell they love what they do. Season Is December through April.
Excellent for young families, there are rabbits, Guinea pigs, cockatoos, lorikeets, turkeys, lizards, peacocks, and that’s before picking berries/veggies. Good facilities, heaps of local produce.
Depending on the time of the year will determine what’s available, but they have most berries and veggies imaginable, no fruits or nuts. Even after a busy picking there’s always plenty to find if you explore.
Come and see why people that visit always come back!
