Mooloolaba Beach is a trendy and vibrant seaside location featuring upscale resorts, chic shops, and open-air restaurants with cocktail bars. The beachfront esplanade presents an array of foodie temptations while the patrolled beach offers breathtaking blue waters and pristine white sand. This destination has been voted one of the best on the Sunny Coast, attracting travelers with its holiday ambiance and frequent sightings of dolphins and whales.
One of my favourite holiday destinations.
Beautiful beaches, lots of nice shops and good restaurants around.

A beautiful family friendly beach to visit either when heading up further north or local travel from Brisbane. Beautiful white sands and perfect water temperature and lots of food options for kids and everyone right opposite to the beach.

A big yes for an Family Beach Holiday time. Very busy during public holidays for sure but live the energy here.
About 2 hours up the coast from Brisbane.
Parking is not easy (always) but it helps save much time and effort if you just drive straight to the paid indoor parking for a flat rate of $12.5 then all is good.

My favourite beach anywhere in the world. Large horse-shoe shaped beach with beautiful sand. Two areas patrolled by lifesavers. One closest to town has nice waves, but is very busy during peak seasons. At the opposite end of the beach it's a lot calmer and family friendly. A great beach to walk along any time of the year. The local council has done a great job in recent years to improve the board walk and esplanade. Love it!

Love this beach! Beautiful family spot but swim between the flags as there are loads of rips and submerged rocks. Very rough swell so good for boogey boarding. Low tide reveals many hidden rock pools. Lots of shells and pretty rocks!

This is our second time back at Mooloolaba beach and we are so happy to be here. The beach itself is centrally located with the surf club, shops and food outlets a stones throw away. There are plenty of tables and grassy areas for a picnic. The lifeguards usually patrol here when you swim between the flags. It’s a close walk to accommodation such as the mantra and others. Parking is relatively easy with a few parking lots close by.

Love this beach! Great walking track alongside the beach with some nice shady areas. Great combination of bigger waves for surfing and calm waters for a relaxing dip.

Best day out in ages! Beautiful beach! The waves were fun to jump in. Definitely a must do with friends and family. Hint, take a shade or gazebo cos the sun can get really hot out. 🔥⛱️

Early Morning vibes over the weekend is always great with many early-bird people running, walking and swimming.
Good coffee and brekki places are around the centre of the beach, highly recommending! :)

Beautiful beach with many good restaurants surround it, just become quite noisy sometimes but if you walk near the beach in evening, it won't be that noisy anymore and you can enjoy the quiet atmosphere nicely with the sea breeze 💗

Love this beach, it's got everything - showers, toilets, surf club, undercover eating areas, playground, plenty of parking and it's close to a tonne of shops.
Best to hit it up early to stake your spot and avoid the crowds.
Amazing sunrises too.

Oh my ‘most bestest’ ever, love-this-place beach on the Sunshine Coast. Good showering facilities, very well maintained, good choice of eateries on the promenade.

It's a magical beach with great people who say, "Hi" as they pass you. Great shops and restaurants at the Mooloolaba Esplanade. Kick a beer and enjoy the view. Good vibes at Mooloolaba! This place is better than Noosa!

Beautiful beach. Yes there's a safe and patrolled swimming area. However, I tend to walk along the beach to where it's less populated. Lots of space to sit, read a book, watch the surfers, explore the multitude of rock pools that expose themselves at low tide, close my eyes and listen to the ocean. Or grab an ice-cream or take-aways from one of the many restaurants and sit on the beach. Or watch an amazing sunset, moonrise, whatever! Love this beach!

Love the vibe, but still prefer Sufer Paradise in Gold Coast. There were not many shells and the sand texture seems different from Surfers’s Gold Coast

I usually body surf at the beach, but last Christmas Eve we watched the fireworks! Fun.
The SEA LIFE Sunshine Coast Aquarium provides a fun and educational experience for children with its diverse displays and engaging programs. Although it may be pricier than other zoos and aquariums, the seal show is a cool highlight. However, it can get crowded in the seal show area despite requests for social distancing. Booking ahead makes entry easy and the friendly service adds to the overall positive experience.
Great day out for the kids booking time made it easy to get in and the service was very friendly. The seal show was great and the new penguin 🐧 area was interesting. All the displays are well thought out and there is heaps to appreciate if you take a closer look.

A most enjoyable morning (23 July 2022) spent wandering around the aquarium. Great to see such a wide variety of sea life in one easily accessible location. Only wished I'd brought along a better camera to take more worthy photos. Certainly recommend this for kids of all ages. Sea Lions rock, by the way!
sportz fotos — Google review
We did the behind the scenes tours and also the photos with the seal. It was definitely worth the extra amount in my opinion.
The aquarium and exhibits brought out the inner child in me. All the different species of underwater creatures was fascinating and a bombardment of colours and lighting.
The staff were friendly and the food at the cafe was decent and reasonably priced.
I would definitely recommend a visit.
Ben Taylor — Google review
Such a great day out. Educational exhibits and genuinely such cool views through the tunnel. We bought tickets in advance and went early in the week - almost no crowd! My one suggestion to the aquarium - it would be great to get free wifi! I had no reception throughout most of the building so I couldn't scan all the QR codes for more info and see the pics.

Had a really fun weekend. Such an amazing experience seeing all the different aquatic animals up close. The highlight of the day was the seal show.
Just a little trouble getting a parking spot because it was a weekend.

Had a day out. Very enjoyable.
Lots of sea life to look at. Good variety. The map they supplied in a graphical manner was a bit convoluted especially with the ramp leading to the lower penguin space and the ocean tunnel.
The seal presentation was respectful and fun. Cute penguins. Ocean tunnel was cool.
Leevan Jiang — Google review
Beautifully designed and presented.
Well maintained, and looked after.
Ticket prices are a bit high, but totally worth having the sea life experience.
Great seal performance. Witnessed Sharks and amazing sea creatures.
Small cafe in the corner.
Bit hard to find parking on the weekends especially.
Although, huge parking areas are around. Overall, it was a good experience..
ISH — Google review
Amazing place to take the children. A little bit expensive compared to other aquariums and zoos which had more to look at. The seal show was cool, however expect to be crammed in like sardines. They request everyone to be 1.5m but we were almost sitting on the next persons lap at the seal show, a bit pointless having the set times as it was jam packed in there.
Amy Brandis — Google review
I haven’t been here since I was 7, it didn’t disappoint as I’m 28 now and loved it all, from the petting tanks to the seal show, and all the other exhibits. Had a fantastic day, about 3 hours spent in total. Would recommend

Nice couple of hours with the kids. No food kiosks in there anymore and all OK to bring your own. Animals looked very well looked after. Seal show was lovely, very informative. Make sure you pre-purchase tickets. Happy days

There are no wheelchair car parks. Staff suggested stopping in the loading zone, unloading and then parking. There were buses parked there though so stopped in the road. Also I shouldn't be leaving my client alone while I park the car. We enjoyed the seal show.
Tasha — Google review
The behind the scene tour was informative and interesting. Amy was friendly and knowledgeable.
Thoroughly enjoyed our time here. it didn't appear to be crowded as we walked around the aquarium. Seal show was fun and entertaining, advise you to get there early as the stands full up quick.
Dennis Fowler — Google review
What a great way to fill in a few hours on the Sunshine Coast, especially on a hot or rainy day. It is advisable to buy tickets online and arrive early to avoid crowds. The staff are helpful and friendly. There are many tanks full of wonderful sealife, from starfish, seahorses, jellyfish and lobsters. There are penguins, seals and frogs. Of course the seal show is a highlight as well as the shark under water tunnel. So many giant stingrays and sharks as well as turtles and giant gropers.
Kids and adults will have a ball. There is a cafe and air-conditioned playground for the kids.
Such a great outing and definitely recommend visiting if you are at the Sunshine Coast.
Leanne (Beach Travel Wine Podcast) — Google review
The aquarium was quite small. However, it was packed with interesting exhibitions. The conditions of the sea creatures looked fine. There were quite a lot of visitors even during weekday to my surprise. The show was interesting and the penguins were really cute !

Nice little attraction up the coast if you're holidaying for a few days. Always quite busy. We went on a weekday not on school holidays and was still a bit pokey to navigate with staff and other patrons. It's expensive for what it you get. Id find the kids would be just as interested looking around rock pools. The staff weren't overly friendly. The seal show is a highlight but I think they need more interactive experiences.

Recently did the Shark Dive Extreme at Sea Life and it far exceeded my expectations. I would especially like to thank Charlie and Joel for their clear instructions and information during the dive. At all times I felt safe, had fun, and felt like I learned so much. The experience itself was a once in a lifetime sort of moment with sharks swimming mere centimetres away from me. Highly recommend if you are thinking of doing this.

This is our 4th annual pass. We come up from Brisbane very often as it is just such a wonderful visit. A must visit for everyone regardless of where you are from, and what age you are. Need I say anymore really?
Glen B — Google review
We love going to sealife with our little girl. It's free for her whilst she is under 3 so we got annual passes. Great experience for her being able to teach her about marine biology and conservation. We went on a Monday this time straight after school holidays finished lot of other preschool aged kids but wasn't to bad. Been told Sunday afternoons are quietest time which we usually try for.

Buy your tickets online in advance. Great experience for little kids. For adults you would get through it in a few hours. Seal show is great, you can get a photo with the seals too. Nice gift shop and the staff were all very friendly.

I loved our visit here. Only stayed an hour, could easily have spent more time. I was really surprised how much sea life was on exhibit. My only complaint was that the cuttlefish tank seemed a little small for the poor fish.
craig bennett — Google review
We took two toddlers today and they had an awesome time. The exhibits are colourful and full of underwater life. The seal show was a favourite and good fun. Before we left we wandered through the gift shop, which had a good array of T-shirt’s, toys and knickknacks. Definitely worth going, no matter what your age! 😊
Tracey Giles — Google review
Sea Life aquarium is a wonderful place to see marine life and even some freshwater fish and creatures. Plan on 2-3 hours. Though not outdoors or spread over several acres, the spaces are well utilized. Very child friendly but also very interesting for adults of all ages. It can get crowded by noon. Maybe try arriving around noon and staying for the afternoon after all the early birds head out for lunch. Lots of parking at the wharf area. But probably gets full during holidays.
Andrew Brueske — Google review
Very busy on the weekends, so plan accordingly, was very difficult to find a car park.. for those with sensory issues, parents are not overly concerned about their kids wildly screaming and running around, and the tunnel can make you feel weird. All animals look well cared for, and the touch pool was a bit bare but still interactive and fun. Most staff engage with you, some more shy than others. The seal show was good. I would have loved it to be a bit longer. Seal photos are $30 per person. Overall, it was a great experience. I do appreciate the work Sealife does.
Take away: buy sustainable fish and always put your rubbish in the bin 😉
Charmaine Harris — Google review
First time here. Full of colour, very organised, well structured, (additional payable options available inside depending what more you want to do). Very clean and easily to follow route and takes 2 plus hours ( if you attend the tunnel tour and watch seal world show, as well as some other activities included in base price).
A lot of the interactive stuff however just didn’t work on the day of visit which was a pity because they promised so much and I felt it lacked a bit of the big WOW factor in comparison to similar type venues.
Point Cartwright Lighthouse, a modern lighthouse built in the 1970s, offers breathtaking views of the ocean and is easily accessible by both car and walking trails. Visitors can take an easy walk from the carpark to reach the lighthouse. The northern side features several memorial plaques dedicated to young people who passed away. Despite limited parking spaces in the area, visitors can still enjoy a pleasant mid-morning walk with their dogs while sipping on coffee.
Stunning view all the way from the parking lot to the lighthouse. Great sea views all along. The walkway is in decent condition and only a short stroll through the top of the hill.
There’s also a stairway path if you choose to go down to the beach. There weren’t many people there compared to Alexandra beach. You can enjoy a very easy and relaxing day out.
H Sheryl — Google review
Fantastic walk to the lighthouse with spectacular views all the way.
Plenty of areas to sit and have a picnic and watch the sunset.
Toilets are further down near the carpark. Whole walk is accessible by wheelchair.
Not many parking spots and it does get very busy.
We parked further down and walked.
Priscilla Keating — Google review
Easy walk to do mid morning with some nice views! Plenty of space to bring the dogs too!
Only downside is the parking in the area, can be a bit tight and not many spaces (wish the person who hit our car knew that..)
But a nice walk and maybe take a coffee along too!

One of my favourite places to go to just for the many versatile adventures you can go on! There’s rocks/rock pools, great beach (surfing), a park with loads of grass, and somewhere to watch the sunset from. Perfect spot and do reccomend
Dilyn Hatch — Google review
What a beautiful spot to watch the sun setting over the Sunshine Coast.
A short easy walk through the bush from the carpark brings you to a spot where you can watch the sunset, walk around the lighthouse, discover a fabulous mural on a huge water tank & look back down the coast.
Lucinda Morgan — Google review
Nice walking area with easy parking around La Balsa Park instead of the carpark closer towards the lighthouse which doesn't have many spots and seems full with locals going for a swim. The walk up to the end of the rock wall is quiet and evenly paved but there's no path up the hill once you get to the beach/end. Instead head across the grassy area further back and up the hill where you will get great views looking back at Buddina Beach to the south as well as being able to admire the artwork on the water tower which was recently refurbished.
Eugene Foo — Google review
Beautiful spot with 360 degree views around a very well done and artistic reservoir mural. Good spot to sit for a sunset or sunrise and only a short walk from the car park.
Ben Cannon — Google review
A nice interesting lighthouse to visit, it's an easy and short walk along a path to the lighthouse from the carpark.
We noticed a lot of memorial plaques attached along the fences to the northern side and if you read a few it's surprising to see how many youngish people are represented there. I'm sure the amazing views particularly to the north are what makes people chose this location - I'd be happy to have my own one there one day :)
Marcus P — Google review
Really nice and artsy spot!
The water tank paintings are mesmerizing, the view even better! You have access by car but you can easily walk there or bring your bike. There’s a few walkways around and a little comunal memorial. It’s a really quiet spot with great vibes for a picnic, exercise or even a cute date!

Beautiful location. There is some parking but limited as it's very popular. Around the lighthouse beach area it's off leash for your furry family members. Lots of rocks to explore. No cafes or shops at the location but there are plenty of shops about 3 mins away. NO lifeguards or flag areas for swimming. There are public toilets at the carpark area.
Lance Lightning — Google review
Stunning views, and the artwork on the water reservoir is incredible! But you can't go right up to the lighthouse, and there isn't a lot of parking.
Still worth a trip if you're out that way.
Mel — Google review
This place is a must-visit! Even if the Lighthouse doesn't captivate you, the breathtaking view certainly will.
Bring your own food, find a spot, and soak in the beauty of the sea. Just be aware, parking can be a bit challenging during peak seasons, and note that entry to the Lighthouse is restricted.
Sebastian Peter — Google review
Great vantage point of the ocean. Which is probably why a lighthouse is built here. There are a small number of car parking spots close to the lighthouse, but if you don't manage to get one of those you'll have to walk up the hill. Needs a bit of an uphill walk but is worth it.
Interesting lighthouse shape, I'm used to them having round edges, but this is a square shape.
There is also a water tower which is nicely decorated with paintings of ocean animals.

Amazing views, spectacular.. love the history of the HMAS Brisbane ..very relaxing place to sit and watch the world go by
Michele Shuttleworth — Google review
The most of the former HMAS BRISBANE aligns perfectly with the final resting place of the ship that is now an artificial reef. The ship served in the Vietnam war and the Gulf war. This memorial serves as a tribute to the ship and crews that served. The ship is one of the most accessable and picturesque dive sights in the region. Great place to see a beautiful view and to spend some time.

Nice place to sit and watch the ocean. Although there is no shaded areas so I prefer the afternoon sunlight. Signage tells the story of HMAS Brisbane and scuttle location.

Wharf Tavern is a lively and spacious bar and bistro with multiple lounge areas providing different atmospheres to relax in. The views of the river and the marina are stunning from the deck, making it the perfect spot to watch the sunset. The food is generous and well-priced, making it ideal for a relaxing evening out. The service is friendly and quick, making it an easy place to enjoy drinks or food.

Food very disappointing- waited 45 mins and the pork belly was just awful. No crispy pork, and very small amount of mash. Not worth the wait or price.

The Wharf tavern is an ALH pub and as you would expect with the largest pub chain in Australia it had the usual consistent service, short food wait times and a very clean environment. The meals we ordered were were okay, probably above my expectations based on other ALH experiences on the first visit on a Thursday however the food standard dropped on Saturday when it was much busier. We had a seat by the water both evenings and as expected Thursday was a nice quiet evening and Saturday was extremely busy.

Mooloolaba Spit Beach, situated at the southern part of Mooloolaba Beach, offers a designated swimming spot. It is generally secure to swim in the specified areas when lifeguards are present. However, it is important to swim solely within the boundaries marked by flags for utmost safety.
