Warrandyte River Reserve is a versatile destination offering a 24-hour dog park with both on-leash and off-leash areas. It's an ideal spot for a picturesque walk along the river, featuring well-maintained dirt paths and plenty of seating to soak in the tranquil surroundings. The reserve is popular among dog owners, families, and nature enthusiasts, providing ample car parking and even an adjacent playground for young kids.
Very nice place to visit. There is a walking track side to the river to enjoy the greenery and nature. A large kids play area and picnic spots to enjoy with family and friends. My both the kids love this place and we usually visit in every 2-3 months. There are BBQ places and you can find few cafes near by

A beautiful trail which allows dogs both on and off leash depending on the section of the walk. The river can be fast flowing in places, so caution with dogs swimming, however there are a few sections which are more shallow and great for swimming with your dogs. Plenty of areas to stop on the trail for picnics, and BBQ facilities and toilets are available at certain places.

Great spot, little hard to get down to the water with the steep dirt steps but would be fine for most people.
Our dog loved this spot!

It’s a lovely picturesque walk along the track by the river. With plenty of seats and benches scattered along the track, where you can sit and enjoy the peaceful outlook. However it is a popular spot - particularly for people walking their dogs (often off leash) - but there is good car parking availability at various points. One of the nearby highlights for families with young kids is the awesome playground. Another feature of the location is “The Bakery” which is positioned close to the river - and a popular spot for pastries, cakes and coffee. We enjoyed a leisurely morning walking along the river track, later having a pastry from the Bakery and browsing in some of the local shops (including a book shop and antique shop). Overall, a very pleasant place for a relaxing half day visit.

Best hidden secret in Melbourne. Pound bend is a nice relaxing 4km round trip on floating devices, but the downstream end location is also a safe spot for kids to swim.

My brain will never let go of this memory, one friend, who will remain a named started free styling. It was so epic an awesome literally had to contain my laughter and excitement as he was flowing and spitting bars everywhere another friend who will remain on them to play. Creepy music was so Wakin terrifying. I had to contain my fear so funny would recommend

A wonderful Sunday walk along the river filled with wildlife can do 5km trail - hail rain or shine it’s great. Pack lunch and sit and enjoy the many stunning views. Plenty of free parking.
can’t recommend local places to go for lunch - traffic is a nightmare at kangaroo flat you’ll be stuck in traffic for a long time and there is only one pub.

Have been walking the river with my dog pretty regularly since moving to the area. No matter which area we go, it's always a beautiful, scenic and calming walk. The paths are clear and well maintained, however they are dirt. We always pass lots of friendly people and pets, haven't had a bad encounter with anyone! Always friendly smiles and kind greetings. Great way to start the day in peaceful nature and forget the stress of one's day-to-day.

Beautiful walking trail for the whole family, by the side of a river. You can walk and walk enjoying the scenic beauty around. You have lots of benches for seating, there are gym equipment in a corner, food outlets and there are play areas for the kids as well. As you walk, you are sure to come across a good number of dogs being walked on the trail, some on leash and some without. Enjoy the place!
Pound Bend Rd is a scenic and idyllic street located near a river, showcasing upscale residences and a protected wildlife sanctuary. It presents an ideal spot for leisurely strolls by the water or within the reserve. Although there are many pebbles in the area, one can still enjoy exploring around while basking under the sun's scorching heat.
What a great place to chill by the river or in the river. Lots of slimy rocks thou but had a great time exploring in the heat. Ducks are friendly and be careful when leaving food around and rubbish as they will try to take it.
Westfield Doncaster is an excellent shopping centre with a wide range of stores and eateries. The stores include Lego, Zimmerman, Apple, Sushi train, Miele Flagship store, TGIF, Lanzhou noodle, Korean BBQ, yum cha and the fresh food market. There is also a hotpot restaurant and some other places to get food. The fitness club is on the top floor.
Massive shopping centre there’s a lot to see, you need all day to shop around I love it! Although it’s a little bit of a puzzle on parking is like a maze when you park try to remember the entrance and exit so you don’t forget maybe take photos.✌🏽Receptionist is very helpful for directions though

Unfamiliar with layout after not visiting for many years. Could do with more information touchscreens. Signage could be less ambiguous. Otherwise a pleasant experience and more up to date than past iterations.

The food court had a satisfactory selection of dining options, but the seating areas were sometimes crowded and lacked proper upkeep. It would be great if they could improve the seating arrangements for a more comfortable dining atmosphere.
While parking is available, finding a spot during peak hours can be a challenge. The parking facilities could use some expansion or better management to accommodate the high volume of visitors.

Bright, spacious, airy and light filled, modern 2 storey shopping centre located at the intersection of Tram and Doncaster rds. A shopping Mecca, filled with a great variety of standard shops, eateries, designer stores and a village cinema. Whilest getting a parking spot can often be problematic, there are a few different car park options.

Nice mall and have everything from clothings, supermarket, department store, restaurants, cafes with good interiors and very clean. Just go here to find all you need!
It would be good if you come early, avoid to arrive at lunch time as parking will be full. First 2 hours is free.

Yes its a nice shopping centre. Everything in it.
Worked here for long time but sadly they don't have any proper staff lobby area for all staffs all around. Staffs is looking after the centre but centre probably thinking pay should include their 10 min, 30 min rests. But yeah Its a good shopping centre.

Lovely shopping centre to walk around and shop. Has the 2 major department stores Myer and David Jones as well as Kmart and Big W. Also has a nice grocery and fresh food market area on bottom level. Good amount of cafes and eateries scattered across the centre. Finding a car park can be tricky due to the layout of the car park, but there are multiple bus services that pass through if you want to take public transport.

The recently renovated Westfield is an underrated shopping center. Here you can find Lego store, Zimmerman, Apple, Sushi train, Miele Flagship store, TGIF, Lanzhou noodle, Korean BBQ, yum cha, fresh food market, hotpot and some other good dinning opinion. On top floor there’s fitness first club. The only pity thing is no live music and entertainment to boost night economy. Right next door there’s a Mercure Hotel under the Accor Group which offers more convenience to international visitors.

I love this place and have been going there for a long time. However, recently it has become a gathering place for delinquent students who have left school. especially the food court. I was in the bathroom around 4:30pm today when some kids came in and kicked my door and ran away. A few minutes later, I heard the sound of some of the same students coming and I was alert. I didn't expect it, but he kicked the door I was in again and ran away. I immediately chased them, but there were more than 10 boys who seemed to be them. In the past, there were times when more than 30 students (about 10 female students) were playing in the men's restroom. There is security in the center, but please be a little more vigilant. I feel so bad today.

My first visit to this store was a pleasant one. The display of chocolates was attractive and appealing. The service was good. However all items are quite pricey. Their new mooncakes in a giftbox consists of 4 small mooncakes of different flavours but cost about $10 per piece. Their hot chocolate drink made on order on site was rich and flavoursome but cost $8 per cup. Good experience but I would go there for occasional treats.

The kids had fun, but more sound effects and Star Wars soundtrack/music was needed. Characters walking around the shopping centre in costume would have sparked more interest and also captions on the tv screen were needed for accessibility needs.

Westerfolds Park is a riverside green space that provides opportunities for canoeing, walking and cycling on its various trails. It also features picnic areas and a playground. The park's sheer size and towering trees give it a rural feel despite its proximity to the city. While the foliage may appear parched during hot weather, rainfall typically restores its lushness. A scenic bike path winds through the hilly terrain of the park, spanning about 8km in total length.
A terrific place to wander and simply enjoy nature. There are miriads of walking trails going off in different directions, and no shortage of wildlife to observe. The park has many opportunities available for a barbecue or a picnic, and the vast playground is very popular with kids. It can get busy at times though.

A serene, breezy park along the Yarra River. In proximity to suburbia.
There are peaceful walking trails, bicycle tracks, playgrounds, barbecues, an abandoned manor, public bathrooms and, most heartening of all, an abundance of wildlife in the afternoon and early morning.
The large families of kangaroos are worth the visit for all ages!

A lovely park with amazing walking/cycling trails, barbeque and picnic area. The westerfolds loop track is 4.8 km and is easy to walk. There is also a city trail which is 32km long!! A few other smaller trails inside the park are also nice! There are multiple car parks, so do figure out where do you want to start with, we parked at gumtree car park. It took us about an hour to complete it as the path is steep at specific places. We saw several kangaroos at 6 feet distance around gum tree planting program. Def worth the visit…
Smriti Jhunjhunwala — Google review
So pretty! Really feels further out of the city than it actually is with how big it is and how tall the trees are. We went during a heatwave so the foliage was looking a little thirsty but I’m sure with a bit of rain it would be super green. Nice bike path around the park (hilly in parts) which I think was about 8km total, I believe it also connects you to the city if you’re up for riding over 30km… and we rode past plenty of picnic areas, a lookout point, facilities and a Manor (not sure why it’s there or what it’s for).

It's such a beautiful peaceful park to go when not too busy. Beautiful Australian bushland with many different kinds of birds, kangaroos and trees. Considering it's very near city, it almost let you feel like you went far away, although in some points the noise from the highway can be heard and some high voltage towers can be seen. Overall I think it's a great park near city to wonder in nature, whether it's hiking, cycling or to observing wildlife! 🌿🌳🪨

Westerfolds is known parkrun to be hilly, there is a hill during the 3rd kilometre. To be honest, I don't think the hill is that bad (compared to Wilsons Botanic, Maroondah Dam), but I figured I would mention the hill.

Wow, what a moment.
As soon as I set foot in Melbourne, I rushed off to the park I'd heard so much about.
If you're looking for the very essence of Australian wildlife just 45 minutes from the city centre, you've come to the right place. Kangaroos, rainbow lorikeets, yellow, red and pink cockatoos, kookaburra, platypus, etc...
If, when you travel here, the landscape is dulled by the lack of your loved ones, it will be returned to you a hundredfold in the colours of those who make it up.
If you'd like to see the other photos I've taken in this park, don't hesitate to check out my Instagram account @atwowayworld.

The Heide Museum of Modern Art is a world-renowned modern art institution in Bulleen, Melbourne. Set over three buildings and 15 acres of gardens, it houses a variety of exhibitions exploring Australian art from the 1920s to the present day. Kids under 12 are free to visit, and there's also a cafe with kid-friendly programming.
The Heide Museum of Modern Art and its sculpture park offer an extraordinary experience.
The current exhibition by Lee Miller is simply prodigious. The artworks on display captivate the mind and imagination, offering a fascinating journey through art and history.
The tranquil atmosphere of the sculpture park adds a contemplative and enriching dimension to the overall experience.
Plus, the guided tour of the Lee Miller exhibition, included in the ticket price, provides invaluable insights and enhances the appreciation of her work.
Overall, it's an unforgettable visit that is truly worth experiencing.

Beautiful day out at the Museum of Modern Art! Impromptu visit to see Sidney Nolan’s works that is currently exhibited.
Friendly staff at counter made our visit delightful. Directions, a map and away we went!
Had to check out the 15 acres of garden housing the sculptures, some of which are captured in my photos below. The lawn on a less warm day would have been lovely to lay on and read a book! There are oak trees in the garden that gives nice shade.
Oh and check out the veggie and herb garden while there!

Cool for a quick walk and gander at the sights by yourself or with a friend but as a family or larger group there are definitely more cost effective places to visit. If you’ve seen everything in melb then check it out but otherwise there are better (and cheaper) art spots around. This’ll occupy you for maybe an hour or hour and a half but it isn’t an all day activity. Overall interesting if not a little underwhelming.

And verily, it came to be that Mary came across an inn but the inn was closed. A great wailing and gnashing of teeth fell upon the chosen when unto them a miracle was granted... and lo, the heavens ceased to weep, and the path to redemption appeared, and the café opened. An Easter miracle of biblical proportions.
Awesome museum. Striking, thought provoking, inspirational even.

My 3rd visit - to view Barbara Hepworth's current exhibition. This is small & you'd be done in under 40 mins incl. viewing a grainy doco that gives an insight into the landscape of Cornwall & surrounds that inspired her sculptures. The exhibits in the Heide II was the kind that you walk in & out again. As they say - art appreciation, especially modern art is in the eye of the beholder....
You will be fitted with a wrist band once you get your tix or show your pre-purchased tix. Need to keep this on to gain entry into Heide II & Reed's cottage which has more artwork by the bohemian arty circle that Heide is reknowned for. It was just too hot on the recent Sun to walk up to Reed cottage after Heide I & II.
The vast surrounds which melds with adjacent Banksia park looked dull & uninspiring with the same old unchanging outdoor sculptures bar a few newer ones. Yes -it is the hottest & driest time of the year but surely with the kind of patronage & funding Heide receives, upkeep & maintenance should be constant...
What's with the unsealed, dusty & inadequate car parking area esp. for the crowds that turn up on a Sunday? You can drive round to the 2nd level park & if this small space is full - turn right - all the way down to Banksia Park parking areas & hike uphill to get to Heide's main entrance. With Heide, there's this smug complacency to do nothing much to increase patronage. Be like NGV, McClleland Sculpture Park, PT Leo Sculpture Park or the wineries that incorporate outdoor artwork & sculptures - evolve, upscale & maintain please!

Highly recommended! Worth to pay a visit if you haven't been!
Love the indoor and outdoor settings, from art gallery, sculptures, landscape and architectural spaces.
Outdoor and surrounding browsing is free, gallery is the only fee admission sction, but totally worth for its price as you would be able to visit the 3 different types of architectural buildings, from heritage to post modern then to contemporary.
There is cafe, coffee kiosk opposite the shop available, but do check on their opening hours if you visit on the week day.
Easy to spend a good quality of a few hours here. And best to be here when there is no rain so you could enjoy the outdoor a bit more.
Facilities are good and clean, staff and volunteers are very friendly and helpful.
A place where you would like to revisit.

I came to see the sculpture garden and had no idea there was a fantastic makers market there this weekend. They had fantastic stalls with really beautiful handmade items. I didn’t notice food trucks or coffee so had to visit the cafe. The service there was very very slow and a touch frigid. We sat in the covered courtyard and got eaten alive by mozzies. Very unpleasant. For some reason the inside area was empty, and they were only offering outdoor seating. They were very busy and there was a real bottleneck in this area. The sculpture garden was lovely but so much smaller than I remembered from 10 years ago. I kept doing laps thinking I must have missed a bit. I was very grateful for the abundance of free parking as it was very busy with the market and I secured a park very far away, but in nice bushland so it was a pleasant walk to the market from there.

Beautiful place to visit with wonderful artwork throughout the property. The grounds are large and peppered with amazing sculptures. The history of the museum is very interesting and you get a feel as to what the original owners taste and mind must have been like. Lots of variety from traditional to modern styles. We lucked out with an absolutely fantastic afternoon weather wise, so we could enjoy the gardens and of course seeing the wedding ceremony run under the huge oak tree.
The staff are fantastic and attentive, you don’t have to wait long for the roaming food to get to you or for someone to appear and top your drink up.
The reception was in Heidi Kitchen which is down the hill next to the Museum itself. A really nice little area tucked away so your group can have a little privacy, especially if there are other Heidi patrons exploring the grounds or the museum.
Definitely recommend as a function venue or just a place to visit in Melbourne.

We attended gold class last night with a voucher for the indulgence package. The menu had so many deep fried choices. Two deep fried fish choices. One deep fried dessert choice. Several non deep fried dishes had nuts. My daughter is allergic to nuts and seafood. Everything that’s deep fried is cooked in the same oil as the seafood. This renders choices to eat incredibly difficult. Even the salad had deep fried chicken.
We discussed this with duty manager Brianna, and Danny. Both were extremely helpful, helped modify the choices where possible, gave a complementary popcorn and extra scoop of ice cream so my daughter could at least have a dessert she could eat.
They have passed on our concerns (the menus was also unsuitable for vegans given the shared oil) and that was the best they could do. Meanwhile their demeanour and willingness to listen and help really went a long way to retrieving our night.
Four stars because of their work, otherwise it would be one star.

My dad bought gold class tickets to the king du panda 4 movie (a rarity as we don't see each other often), and we were really surprised by the lack of effort put in. The theaters were clean and such, but the service was where we were disappointed. We were given drinks in a timely manner (around 5 minutes into the movie), but after requesting the popcorn we paid for twice, we were only given it an hour into the movie (in a 1 hr and 34 minute movie.) There wasn't any signage to signal that gold class tickets holder needed to go to a separate section for popcorn and drinks, and even when we got to the front, we werent allowed to buy anything down there, instead directed to the top. If we were allowed to just buy the food and drink at the bottom, everything would've been fine. It was honestly just annoying, for the Price we paid for both the movie and the food/drinks, and that this is the quality service that we can expect for spending nearly 200 dollars on gold class tickets and snacks.

I don’t usually leave negative reviews however, the lady at the snack bar working at 10:30 am on Tuesday the 19th of December was incredibly rude, snatching our items, rolling her eyes, being condescending and overall extremely unprofessional . I have been a Vrewards member for years and to see this kind of treatment came as a huge shock. I’m honestly not sure how she even got the job! My experience on this day was ruined I just hope it doesn’t happen to anyone else in the future.
What an amazing find! Get down here!
How is something this beautiful and rural stuck right in the middle of the suburbs?!
Organic farm store with new season apples and pears, plus local organic produce.
Heritage buildings, over 200 apple varieties, a pretty cafe with great coffee (serving to 5pm!!!). They've got homemade cakes, Casper's pies and pastries, smoothies, juices, and organic vegan icy poles.
Take a 5 minute stroll to the river, or the kids can play on the playground. Plenty of parking

Food and drinks are nice, it’s lovely being outside under the gazebo, however it’s not wheelchair/walker friendly. The toilet door was stuck and my wheelchair would not fit through (58cm wide wheelchair), the floor was wet and dirty, and the paths between cafe, playground, gazebo, and toilets are all loose gravel on dirt. Also, the play area opens to the car park behind the gazebo, which is a hazard for young children. Properly fencing the play area, adding paved paths, and fixing the toilet issue would go a long way to making this 5 star review worthy.

A rustic outing to enjoy the views of the apple orchids, and indulge in their delicious pies and apple-raspberry crumbles, which are the best in town. Supporting local businesses is always a good idea! 🤣😋

They always run out of what you want, the smoothies were watery, the magpies swoop you and take the food out of your hands while you sit at the table, they have no menus to hold on your hand and my eyes couldn't read it from the wall behind them.
They should hang menus outside so you can decide while you wait in line. They need to put up signs about the magpies. They need to buy more stock to have the items that are on the menu for you to buy and not always run out of everything. It is a great location as it is half way your walk, but it isn't greatly run. It could be so much better.

We walked through the parkland to the cafe. Beautiful with dogs the track had plenty of people on it so it wasn't isolated being in the forest. Lots of bike riders cycling, Cafe was relaxing nice atmosphere grassed area for kids to play with orchards surrounding cafe. Kangaroos resting in the distance. Nice views. For us food wasn't what we like, however we still loved the walk and coffee/ muffins

This smoothie was $9 and the size of a small coffee while served warm-ish because it was a warm day. Staff seemed frazzled and overwhelmed and it was disappointing because it’s a really nice spot that gets dog walkers along the Yarra, bike riders and a few tourists come to visit. The place has loads of potential, they’re just not executing very well.

What a discovery today. In the wild’s of Templestowe far far away, their lurks an Apple Orchard, a rather popular café and organic fruit store here at Perry’s Orchard. The orchard is leased out to a local operator and the sign says it’s maintained by local volunteers. The staff are helpful and the choices vary from home cooked - I was told ‘the lady who does the baking’ - pies and sausage rolls to quite amazing vegan and vegetarian slices, tarts quiches and cakes? Stars of our show? Probably the spinach and zucchini cake that looked like a carrot cake with the same icing walnuts and raisins on top. What an amazing flavour, spiced with nutmeg cinnamon. Absolutely yum! Next, the caramellised onion tart and vegetarian tart with beetroot was a hit. And we tried their vegetarian lasagna it was delicious strong tomato base flavor. The late coffee was strong and the English breakfast tea was good. They have a wide variety of milk and soy drinks as well as sweet cakes and tarts. Wrapped around the serving counter is an organic fruit and vegetable 🥦 display. Prices are expensive here, as you might expect?
Outside the is a small children’s play area and down the lawn a bit is a pergola for that personal café experience away from the crowd. It’s winter so no blush or fruit on the apple trees, still there some lemons on the trees next to the café.
Petty’s seems to be a popular cyclist’s stop over and fun for all ages.
It’s five minutes away from the Templestowe branch of Aumann’s nursery so a double garden experience is very doable.
We enjoyed this sojourn. Not so much the drive back to Mernda via the C746 squiggly road though 🫢

Took a pitstop here after a morning walk along Yarra River. Ordered a coffee and small snack. Coffee was not bad, but the oat milk had a sweet after taste which I didn’t like. The view in this cafe was great. Oh almost forgot, the staff was lovely. Highly recommended for healing your spirit 😊

An excellent location for coffee and apple pie.
This has been a popular coffee stop for years. It continues to deserve 5 stars. Feb 23 Tried a sausage roll today. Probably the best sausage roll I have ever eaten. Feb 24 coffee and muffin. Excellent.

I was so annoyed 😡 I ordered a smoothie, the milk 🥛 must of been left out on the bench.
It was warm YUK !!
If your going to charge me $9 for a small drink that should be COLD 🥶 MAKE IT WITH COLD 🥶 MILK please !!!!!! A smoothie should be nearly ice cold to enjoy 😉

A welcome relief for walkers, bikers & visitors alike on the Main Yarra Trail. A no-frills Cafe located in a rustic farm setting with antique apple orchards & farm that thankfully has remained unchanged while suburbia has sprawled all around.
Watch out for the resident Marauding Magpie! Order & pay inside - name called & food tray plonked on to the table in front. If you don't get to it fast enough - the magpie will!
Quiche slice - pumpkin, goat cheese & rocket was really fresh & tasty. Caps coffee good & frothy. Thankfully the lean-to seating area looked cleaner than my last visit 4 years ago. This visit was recent Sat. Retails organic produce. Apple tasting season is Feb to May - definitely will visit👍🏼
Currawong Bush Park is a family-friendly nature reserve located just 40 minutes away from the CBD. The park boasts of sculptures, trails, and a billabong where visitors can enjoy the beauty of nature. Visitors can also get to see native animals such as wombats, koalas, and eastern grey kangaroos up close. The paths in Currawong are wide and clear making it perfect for families to take a walk.
A bush walk just 40 min from the CBD yet you feel like your in the middle of no where. A great get away spot for a walk. Our family love to walk this area as the paths are wide and clear and not too long. As a bonus the toilets are clean and spots to stop and eat.

A really lovely piece of bushland next to the suburbs.
Plenty of kangaroos throughout, an abundance of birdlife and frogs calling.
Nice tracks, some sections at single file and not too steep.
The drive in to the second car park is a little narrow.

Beautiful walk, it is the closest encounter of roos I can get among all the walks in Warrandyte, less crowded, natural bushland.

We came after lunch at Westfield Doncaster on a 20°C Saturday. Took the 5km creek circuit. Half of the walk is rough terrain, up and down with some steep climb. Single file walk. Other half consists of gravel walkways, and the return walk alongside Reynold road is asphalt. Time to listen to the birds, hear the sound of running water from the creek and check out native plants. There are seats peppered along the circuit. Occasionally pass by other walkers and bikers. A group of kangaroos lazing under the shade on the return leg of the walk. Excellent bush walk experience so near my suburb. Truly a hidden gem. I'll come again with a drink bottle.

Wow what an awesome place to visit. There are lots of trails to walk here and plenty of things to see. There are lots of information boards and signs showing the history and wildlife information about the area. There is an abundance of bird life to see, and kangaroos wandering about the park. This place makes for a fun day out. There are picnic tables, bbqs and toilets for your convenience.

Family friendly park. Quite dry around the picnic areas, Electric BBQ's and Toilets, clean and maintained, check out the Dam, just be wary and alert around the water especially on warmer days as there have been sightings of tiger snakes feeding on frogs. Numerous Bird sighting's We were startled by about 15 Kangaroo's in full flight that hopped across the track in front of us travelling at I would estimate 60 klms per hr. First time visit definitely won't be our last.

The Main Yarra Trail, also called the Yarra Trail, is a 23.5-kilometer path that runs alongside the Yarra River, offering a picturesque route through northeastern suburbs to the edge of the CBD. This shared-use trail is perfect for both cyclists and pedestrians, passing by ancient gum trees and billabongs before reaching Southbank. It's considered moderately challenging and takes around 5 hours to complete.
If you're looking for an experience beyond wine, Rob Dolan Wines is the perfect place. The winery is located in the Yarra Valley and has been producing wines for some of Australias most iconic producers for 25 years. Owner Rob Dolan has turned his passion and skill into his own label, which offers an incredible experience that's hard to beat. Tasting can last up to two hours, giving you plenty of time to learn about wine and discuss its flavors with your host.
I was taken here as a surprise celebration and could have not loved it more. It has good proximity to Melbourne but with all the winery experience anyone could ask for. We sat out on the beanbags overlooking the vineyard and ordered a tasting with our small cheese plate. The wines were excellent (especially recommend the Blanc Le Blanc if you're a bubble lover like me). Staff where so friendly and the building is beautiful.

We have visited some of the classic wineries around Melbourne, but today we were looking for a winery close to Melbourne for a half-day experience. We were pleasantly surprised to discover Rob Dolan wines and enjoyed an exceptional morning here. Our host (Nick) immediately made us feel welcome and arranged a table facing the rolling fields. He described the history of the winery and excitedly spoke of the wines and the tasty offerings available to us. We enjoyed an impeccable platter coupled with a fresh glass of their wines. The price for this experience was very reasonable. After our little feast, we wandered the gardens and were able to capture some beautiful memories. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a lovely winery close to Melbourne, with 5 star experience.

An incredible experience at Rob Dolan. We had a wine tasting for two on a quiet Tuesday afternoon and Mitch went above and beyond to share his knowledge and passion for wine. The whole tasting took us almost 2 hours, which was worth every minute - just enough time to listen to the story and savour every glass and discuss the taste afterwards.
Overall, an accessible location close to City, fabulous service and good wine directly from producer.
Thank you for having us!

Glorious day for a grazing lunch and Chardonnay at this winery. The charcuterie board was well prepared with a fair amount of quality cold cuts. Thank you. And the Chardonnay was second to none to wash it all down. Spectacular views and lunch made for a perfect Sunday.
Edit: visited Ron Dolan again today for lunch and they didn’t disappoint. Their Blanc de Blanc was delightful paired with a substantial grazing board. Cannot wait to go back again.

Love love love! Great spot for an arvo wine and cheese. The staff were also kind enough to let us throw down a picnic rug and let our little one play - it made our experience so pleasant. Such a great idea to serve the cheese platter inside a takeaway box so you can easily take home what you don’t finish. It’s the Yarra Valley experience without the long drive 👌👌 We will certainly be back!

A great winery that is very accessible from Melbourne. They have great variety of pretty good wines; a little pricy but a good tipple. I like a Cabernet Sauvignon, but tend to prefer warmer climate cabs but the Kellybrook cab is great. The food is simple but a high quality; perfect for a glass or two. Great setting; make the trip!

Great tasting wines and friendly staff that assisted during the wine tasting. Also marvellous views across the valley while sipping on wine.
However, disappointed to find we had to pay full price for a bottle of wine even though we had done the tasting and couldn't get the $15 tasting price off the bottle we purchased because the tasting was a voucher gift ..... beware of that glitch if you go with a voucher.

Staff was very detailed in explaining each type of wine during the wine tasting, we brought our dog along and he was barking a bit during the explanation but the staff was very patient and friendly. Great location as it is only a 30 min drive from Melbourne CBD, and love their Blanc de Blanc and Chardonnay.

Beautiful place to enjoy some yarra valley wine at the start or end of your trip. Gorgeous scenery, plenty of tables to sit and enjoy and cheese boards with cheese made locally on site. Wine was delicious. Only wish they gave a little more of a generous pour as it was hardly a full sip so challenging to really taste the wine, especially when paying $15 for the tasting, I’d expect a slightly longer pour.

Booked the bean bag experience and we had a relaxing lovely experience. Platter was perfect to have with the Chardonnay (highly recommended). We arrived early and had a tasting ($15 unless you buy a bottle), Holly was so lovely and made our experience more enjoyable. Will go again while the weather is nice.

The first warm and sunny day for a long while gave an opportunity to sit outside under the gum trees at Rob Dolan Wines. We enjoyed delicious toasties and a bottle of Blanc de Blanc with friendly service in a lovely setting. Great way to spend a couple of hours.
The Ruffey Lake Park is a great place to spend a day out with family and friends, boasting plenty of features to make your stay enjoyable. There are three designated areas for barbecues, playgrounds and picnic shelters, as well as shaded areas and toilets. Plus, the Victoria Street Playground is especially adventurous - perfect for kids who love swinging ropes and climbing rocks! There's also a heritage trail that offers interesting points of interest along the way.
Great big park with lots of hills and slopes, good place to get some sunshine. Ample parking around the area but can get quite busy, especially on weekends. Even with a full park, there is plenty of space to walk though, and plenty of space for kids and dogs to run around.
Cycling is also fine if you can handle the slopes. Lots and lots of grass, some very lovely sights to see on the walking circuits as well. Got ducks here.

Ruffey Lake Park is local to me and I have been there a hundred times all over the park.
Today for the first time I experienced the Disc Golf course activity with two of my sons.
This course is a terrific activity and winds it’s way through open areas and treed areas, taking in a variety of the terrain the park has to offer.
It was a marvellous way to get some exercise, breath in the fresh and see the nice panoramic vistas on the high side of the park whilst having fun trying to keep your disc golf score looking good.
It was great to see quite a few people playing this game in the park, including beginners and some that looked fairly serious with their disc buggies and other gear.
Apart from Disc Golf, I love this park because of its size and variety of open area, lake, kms of windy paths, playgrounds. The park is serviced well by seating, bbqs, toilets at 3 corners of the park and general parking convenience.
I have been to few events here as well including the Christmas Carols and the Food Truck Festival.
This park is well worth a trip here even if you are a little out of the area.
It is hard for me to find fault.
Remember that there are no trash cans, so be prepared to take your rubbish home if you have any.

My local park boasts good walking trails and is dog-friendly. While there are snake-prone areas, well-marked by park rangers, the lovely lake in the middle enhances the experience. I recommend visiting early morning or late afternoon to avoid the crowds. A 5-star recommendation!

Beautiful nature and park , so peaceful place , excellent for families and picnics to admire the serenity of the river , there are so many dogs though around I would like just to be less of a dog area because there are kids around and I’ve seen many big dogs walk even without being on a leash in front of the owner , should have consideration that some people have cynophobia !

In February 2022, Candlebark Park continues to impress with its brilliance. The park offers exceptional riding trails suitable for beginners or those slightly more advanced. These trails are captivating, not overly crowded, and encounters with hikers are infrequent. Wildlife sightings, such as kangaroos and the occasional wombat, are almost guaranteed.
Had fun on the mtb! There was heaps of trails there and some were quite beginner friendly but some were more advanced. There are some main gravel trails that connect all the trails and the area is quite hilly though. Overall it is a fun park!

Easy Green around the Yarra and MTB blue level trails around the mountain for intermediate level riding. Be careful with bikes riding in different directions. I prefer riding clockwise starting from the left side of the mountain working your way around. Some good fire tracks to ride up and zoom down to save potentially running into someone heading down.

Went for the MTB routes which are made by Joe Public and got terribly lost :-)
Trails are two way which could cause problems on weekends.

Edit Feb 2022. Still brilliant. Can't talk it up enough.
Brilliant. This place makes me wish I was a bit more picky with my ratings to make the 5 stars mean more. Great riding trails for beginners or ideally maybe a bit better than beginners. Trails are interesting, typically not too busy and hikers are rare. Almost always see kangaroos and a wombat once.
I'm not one, but assume intermediate riders would find it pleasant riding but not challenging, better off at Lysterfield or the jumps behind Beasleys if you don't want to travel.
