Maleny Botanic Gardens & Bird World is a lush estate featuring scenic walkways adorned with exotic flora and waterfalls, as well as enclosures for birds and other animals. The bird tour is highly recommended with a 5 star rating, offering visitors the chance to interact with native birds, though those afraid of birds may want to pass. Random bird landings add to the experience, while guides help facilitate photo opportunities with select birds.
Absolutely an amazing and must do experience whilst on the sunshine coast. We went twice as the first day we went it was raining heavily and did not get to see most of the gardens and the birds were mostly sheltering from the rain. On our return trip it was amazing. The gardens and views were incredible and the birds definitely the highlight and best part. The keepers are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable and take great care of all the birds. Was an awesome experience and I cannot wait to return!

Visit to the Maleny Botanical Garden.
It was a very interesting and great experience. We spent 5 hours including Picnic Lunch and a buggy ride through the absolutely magic kept gardens and forest - topped by a visit to a giant aviary and interaction with the birds. Everything what has to be known about them - was explained by Savannah - a charming young lady - she made sure everybody had the opportunity to have a Parrot 🦜 on a shoulder. Safety was priority one.
The views are spectacular - a photographers dream! They also have a gift shop to buy some souvenirs- handy for visitors from overseas - especially the toy birds.
One thing to mention is - some of the paths are very steep - and maybe hard for some visitors - so the buggy is definitely a "must" and is also fun. Don't worry about the expense - it's worth it!
Congratulations to the Managment for an absolutely perfect run Tourist venue. Thank you to all the staff, that helped with the booking and the explaining of how the buggy is operating - again safety explained. Highly recommended for an outing with children to learn about all the magnificent Parrots.
Thank you - we will be back with Overseas Visitors.

We had the most amazing experience here at the Bird world. The opportunity to be able to interact with the birds and the farm animals is so wonderful.
It's a great place for adults and kids alike.
The botanical gardens are beautifully landscaped with many walking paths and places to sit down and relax or even have a picnic. The many little ponds and lakes add to the beauty and serenity of the gardens. You can come equipped with your own picnic basket, or you could rent one once you arrive.
I would suggest visiting the gardens early in order to cover the entire extent of the gardens.
There is free parking on site.
A definitely must visit place if you are a nature and animal/ bird lover!!

This place offers amazing opportunity to interact with birds.
During your visit, you enter various rooms and learn the story of their inhabitants.
The birds seem happy, trusting, not stressed, and often very curious about new guests. They come to you on their own, sit on your shoulder or sing love serenades to you..
It was absolutely sweet experience.
I believe this place will remain close to my heart.
Thank you for what you do, it's a mission worth supporting!

This is a gem of a place. The bird aviary is a great experience. Our guide Lydia was very informative and everyone who wanted to, got a chance to hold a bird. The macaws were so impressive. Then we went to visit the very cute farm animals. Mother nature didn't gift us with great weather but the gardens still looked beautiful and our 6 year went back twice to the boat. When the weather cleared a bit we still saw the amazing view. I would also recommend visiting the toilets for a surprise in there. Can't believe I've been to Maleny so many times and never visited here. We will definitely be back.

The bird tour gets a 5 star and was well worth it. The gardens get a 3 as there is currently a lot if renovation work but that being said stands good for the improvements those work will bring in the future.
The bird tour will allow you the chance to interact with a variety of birds a lot of which are native. If your scared of birds probably not for you. The birds will land on people at random which is a part of the experience. The guide will assist you to have some great photo opportunities with selected birds.
Buggies are available for hire to get you around the gardens should you choose but it's not necessary.
Lots of picnic spots heaps of car parking, Cafe and toilets.

Wow, definitely a must visit when in Maleny/sunshine coast! My husband and I bought the package which included the general admission, bird sanctuary tour, 2 picnic boxes, and 1 hour buggy hire. The food was actually really good, and the bird tour was so fun and interactive, as we had plenty of birds land on our heads and arms! There were lots of beautiful picnic spots and garden areas around the whole place which you can view on foot or with the buggy (we did both), and there is a section with cute farm animals you can feed, pat and hold. Absolutely beautiful place, would definitely come back next time I'm in the area! 😃🦜🦚

Loved this place, in particular the birds. Jess took us through the aviary with all the beautiful parrots & macaws. Not shy at all & quite a few land on your shoulders/head or try & dislodge earrings or zippers or anything shiny. Such amazing birds. Loved it.

I visited on Friday. There was ample parking. The Cafe was good. I spent almost a day there and covered all the park attractions. The Aviary tour was the most memorable. The guide made sure each person gets chance to carry those beautiful birds on the head or hands or shoulder. I would suggest not to choose the blue feather and enjoy the birds getting cozy around you.
Farm animals are so cute. Don't forget to ask your kids to feed them. They will enjoy this.
The ponds, gazebo, waterfalls, boat, rose garden, and everything was so beautiful. There was no rush and you can relax with your kids.
My humble suggestion is to add few more food items. I will visit again.

We visited this afternoon (a Wednesday) and grabbed a quick lunch from the cafe before entering the gardens. Our baguettes were tasty and the view magnificent.
We headed off around the gardens, a really lovely little walk down finished roads and through grassy paths as well. Be prepared to walk up and down some steep hills! Golf carts are available for hire so that makes it more accessible.
Unfortunately some areas were closed and being worked on, and many areas were in need of weeding. The fairy garden is a little sad with the fairy behind a gate! I can see how maybe people might have been nicking off with small objects, a bit of a shame. It'd be cute to see the area planted out with succulents and mosses. I would have loved to see some little plaques with information about the plants around the garden too - lots of ideas for me for my garden but I had to take photos so I could remember to google later.
The highlight was the aviary tour, the guide was fantastic, knowledgeable and personable. The birds are truly spectacular and will come up to land on you and have a nibble on your clothing. My husband's collar must have been tasty, he's now got a few holes for me to mend!
The second best part was the petting zoo. Absolutely adorable and heart stealing. It was a lovely afternoon!

This place is a MUST for young and old alike. I live locally and had never been here until 2 days ago when my visitors requested to go there. I’d definitely been missing out as this place is awesome. We did the Avery tour which is well worth the investment to get up close and personal with the many feathered friends which are so well looked after and loved. The cafe is lovely with a good choice of menu items. I thoroughly recommend the foot long kransky and sauerkraut bun and the other menu items are good too with large serves of food for very reasonable prices.
The animal farm is clean and the animals are well looked after and cuddly…even the little miniature goats. The pig is not so cuddly but very affectionate to those who enter.
The staff are very knowledgeable about all things feathered and furred. The gardens are manicured perfectly and so so pretty. You may hire a golf buggy for around $45 for an hour to help you get around the botanical gardens or walk but there are a lot of hills and it’s quite a large area.
The cafe is open to guests even if you don’t wish to partake in an Avery tour.
I can’t encourage you all enough to go to this amazing place. We loved it.

We had an amazing time!! The tour of the Aviary was amazing! Biggest we have seen so the animals could happily fly around. The guide was super friendly and knowledgeable. Most of the birds have been rescued or obtained from previous owners. They’re well looked after. The animal farm was awesome also! I’ve never seen such clean pens. Best scones I’ve had from the cafe with a gorgeous view of the glass house mountains. Opted to walk around the gardens as we wanted the exercise - gorgeous flowers and wild birds flying in. Loved our time there, would highly recommend and would love to come back with relatives!

Was a great experience and the gardens are beautiful.
The bird tour can be a little long for small children and does get quite warm, take a water bottle.
If you have vouchers it’s recommended to redeem online before arriving. However you can also redeem vouchers on the day.

💯 recommend this place! The bird experience alone was worth it! We absolutely loved the wildlife and variety of birds 🐦 and information on them! You can hire a buggy to get around the gardens and the scenery is breathtaking. We will definitely be back and will tell all our friends to visit!! Thanks guys! From your South Australian fans!

Beautiful gardens with breathtaking scenery.
The bird sanctuary is good fun for the family if you like birds too. Very steep hills, if you have trouble climbing you can rent a buggy, but it costs a fair bit. Nice place for a family picnic too, or you can buy some food from their kitchen as well. They are planning to have farm animals at 2022 year end, we would definitely visit again.

Wonderful experience that I’m so happy to have done! Kindest staff ever that made it a truly unique place. We signed up for the last bird world tour so our group was smaller and more personal. The staff clearly care a tremendous amount about the birds. We got to hold so many birds and see their relationships with the tour guide. $40 for the bird world tour and botanical garden stroll is more than worth it. The man caring for the petting area, at the time, was also a sweetheart and knew so much about the animals personalities. Gift shop also had perfect gifts/souvenirs. I could not be more thankful for this experience!

Absolutely beautiful gardens which are meticulously maintained and being able to ride around in a golf buggy and get out to take your photos for memories and social media - priceless.
The farm animals were a real hoot and definitely worth taking your kids along for this entire experience.
The definitive highlight for me was the main aviary.
Wow.
It was such a cool experience to have all these beautiful birds land on my head and shoulders and the photo opportunities were out of this world.
This is a MUST DO activity regardless of ages and even if you don't love birds, you will after this experience.
I would happily go again and again.
Great prices, friendly staff, animals and beautiful gardens. What else could you ask for?

We've visited Maleny Botanic Gardens and Bird World twice and would highly recommend it for locals and tourists alike. The bird aviary is broken into four sections and you get to see a great collection of Australian and international birds and parrots. If you don't want the birds to land on you, there are feather dusters available to gently ward them off. But it is great fun when they do and quite special to get so close to these beautiful creatures. All told you spend about an hour in the aviaries. Then you have plenty of time to check out the gardens. There is also the new farm friends section where you can pat and feed (at a cost) miniature goats, sheep and micro donkeys in addition to plenty of chickens and a rooster. A great attraction for the children! We weren't overly impressed with the food when we first visited three years ago. However on our latest visit we ordered the picnic boxes packaged with our entry. They were fresh, delicious and great value! You can take the boxes to eat at one of the many tables found throughout the gardens. A great hinterland attraction!

Lovely day out with the family. Spectacular views, we paid for entry to the gardens, bird world & animal farm. Kids loved driving the golf buggy around & so much to look at. It is extra for the golf buggy but worth it. Definitely need half a day to explore & the guided tour through bird world was wonderful. You can get interactive time with all the birds, & lots of great photos.

We had an amazing day!! Everything was perfect. The staff was very friendly, the food was amazing and we had so much fun with the birds and the farming friends. By the way: as the birds love jewelry they offer paper tape to cover everything. So you don't need to take everything out.
We highly recommend this park and would love to come back.

I enjoyed the experience of the Maleny Botanic Garden! It was exciting to be guided through the different areas where the birds fly free in the closed (netted) areas. The birds could land on your person if they choose!! They were comfortable living in their space as a guide walked us through the different bird areas.
It's a beautiful place! The staff are friendly and helpful. I didn't explore the entire property on this visit but I have every intention of returning to do that!!

Such a wonderful way to spend a morning, evening or entire day. The staff are all lovely and friendly and do such a good job at ensuring the birds are respected and kept as safe as possible. Plenty of lovely spots for a picnic as well! Must do in Maleny

We love this place have been there twice. Fantastic gardens, make sure you see coco the parrot. Hand raised by a opera singer, incredible talker. The bird tour this time was too rushed. Would have liked more time in the enclosure cause we love birds. Last year it was better. I understand the limited time with the large birds, but with the smaller less intimidating birds you need more time. Still a must see, especially for kids. Fell in love with the baby goats 🥰

Nestled in the heart of Maleny, the Botanic Gardens is a slice of paradise you won't want to miss. The staff's warmth and hospitality make you feel like a valued guest from the moment you arrive. As you explore the lush grounds, you'll encounter a colorful array of exotic birds, their melodies adding to the enchantment of your visit. And let's not forget the cheeky farm animals – their antics are guaranteed to bring laughter and joy to visitors of all ages. But perhaps the most captivating aspect of the gardens is the breathtaking views that unfold around every corner. Whether you're gazing out over the rolling hills or marveling at the vibrant blooms, each vista is more stunning than the last. A trip to the Maleny Botanic Gardens is an unforgettable experience that will leave you feeling rejuvenated and inspired.

The word that pops into my head the minute we arrive at Maleny Botanic Gardens and Bird Sanctuary is WOW. I have visited here once before and it is even more spectacular than I remember. From the birds you can get a photo with at the entrance, to the sweeping views of the Glass House Mountains, this place will blow you away. There are buggies for hire if you don't want to walk around the paths, that can be a little steep in places. There are also many rotundas dotted around the gardens where you can sit and relax. Of course you can visit the farm friends enclosure and also take a walk through the bird aviaries with a guided tour. There are so many gorgeous birds to see. Also there is a kiosk and cafe. Definitely worth a visit. Make sure to allow a few hours.

The Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve is a stunning subtropical rainforest nature preserve spanning 55 hectares. Visitors can enjoy its walking trails, BBQs, and state-of-the-art Rainforest Discovery Centre that offers interactive exhibitions. The reserve is home to over 120 species of bird life and adorable pademelons. Its unique trees with unusual shapes add to the park's allure.
Wonderful hidden gem. The staff are extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Easy walking for all levels and accessible by all. The veiw spectacular at the lookout and the forest walk a delight. Have fun finding the worm holes, wallabies and the very elusive trap door spiders (we had no luck with these). Take a picnic and make a day of it. Highly recommend, great experience.

This is a truly special place. We spent an afternoon/early evening here and loved the education centre and our walk was truly magical with the ancient vines and birdsong of so many birds. We stayed on later when things were quiet and saw many wallabies. The walk was flat and easy, our only disappointment was that one of the loops was closed for improvements so we weren't able to explore it all. One of the most beautiful places we've ever visited, keep up the good work protecting this lovely place.

Best place to visit with family. Very lushy green landscape. Nice look out point of all the mountains. Cafe food is too good plenty of vegan options. Staff are very friendly. Informative museum next to the cafe. If you go to the terrace you will find binoculars which will keep you busy for next 15 minutes as the views are breathtaking. This is a spectacular place to visit in the Hinterland. It is a 30 minute drive from the Sunshine Coast and just over an hour from Brisbane.
The View Cafe has incredible views over the Glass House Mountains.
The short circuit through the rainforest is a flat easy walk. It is full of giant trees, vines and plants. There is a constant chorus of birds singing loudly. My favourite was the cat bird.
If you are quiet you may see a pademelon, which is a type of wallaby.
I would highly recommend visiting Mary Caincross Scenic Reserve. It is great for families.

Arrived mid-morning and car park almost full, but the park didn't feel crowded. Enjoyed the coolness of the reserve on a hot sticky day. Easy flat walk around the forest trail, well sign-posted and fine for pushchairs. Saw pademelons - cute marsupials smaller than wallabies. Spotted many leafy entries to giant earthworm burrows. Lovely birdsong in the forest. Child-friendly, hands-on science centre... gold coin donation. Staffed by volunteers
Cafe had a great selection of savoury and sweet dishes, all very well priced, with Glasshouse Mountains view.
Maleny Dairies is a picturesque dairy farm and factory that offers daily tours featuring cow milking and feeding, as well as product tasting. The tour is designed to provide good value for money while also maintaining the attention of young children, making it an ideal way to spend one or two hours. Gardners Falls is a picturesque waterfall located within a forested area, attracting many visitors for its ideal swimming conditions. It's crucial to be mindful of the surroundings and keep facilities clean while avoiding littering to preserve the natural beauty of the environment. Despite the falls being unremarkable, the deep pools offer ample space for comfortable swimming and diving. The region boasts an abundance of wildlife, and amenities such as picnic tables, composting toilets, and pit toilets are available in a nearby car park.

Water was very Polluted. Lots of people around on a Monday afternoon. I dont think parking is enough on weekends. There was a toilet but without water, that means you cannot do no. 2 . 😂 People were swimming around. Lots of kids as well. I do not recommend this to any people. Nothing interesting.

My favourite place to come on a hot day. After climbing at glass house mountains this place is a gorgeous swimming hole to cool down. There are multiple rope swings and rocks to dive from. It’s always got water, even in a dry spell. Note that there are no change rooms or mobile phone reception once you get down to the falls.
Maleny itself is wonderful for some lunch options as well.

Not a lot of parking. I arrived at 9am on a cool Sunday. There were a few people at car park that looked like they had stayed there overnight in their car.
The walk took me about 5 minutes to the end. Very easy walk.
I was all alone for a bout 20 minutes, then people started arriving. I passed quite a few on the way out. The car park was full by 940am when I left.
The last rock pool would be nice for a swim on a hot day, but I doubt the hassle of finding a park and getting through the people would make it enjoyable for me.
It was a nice early morning stroll though.

Really nice to swim in during the summer! I like the one closest to the parking spot (the one without the swing rope) as it isn't crowded. The rocks are covered by moss, so it's slippery and you have to be careful. The only downside is the bogs, god they smell bad.

If you're planning to visit Gardner's falls or anywhere really then please be considerate of those around you, keep amenities clean and avoid littering so as to protect this beautiful scenic environment.

I've struggled to find the perfect place to go swimming in SEQ but this takes the cake. The falls itself is lacklustre but the pools seem deep enough to swim comfortably and dive-bomb also. Bit too cold for swimming at the moment but would be perfect for summer.
The area itself is beautiful with a lot of wildlife.
Amenities include carpark, toilets (composting toilets/pit toilets) and picnic tables.
Camping is prohibited here.

A good short stopover if you are in the area. Located only a few minutes drive off the Landsborough Maleny Road. There is parking for a quite a few cars, although you will find the car park vert tight
The falls are about a 300 metre walk from the car park. Most of the track is gravel, wide and relatively easy going - it is much more challenging walking at and near the falls.

Beautiful series of water pools with a small falls at the end. Great to swim in! Car park is right there with only 300m to walk all along the water to the falls. Highly recommend stopping for a picnic and afternoon swim.

What a spot, honestly. The waterfall is not too from where you can park, and there's a pretty well paved path towards the fall. Thus, it's easily accessible for elderly and the disabled. It's a nice spot to swim, with some ropeswings for the daring. The scenery is as beautiful as the fall. Unfortunately, it's mostly rocks, so you can't really sit that comfortably with just a towel or something alike. All in all, a nice spot.

A beautiful creek and rock pools.
Great place for a picnic.
Unfortunately it is super popular, so it is crowded on weekends and holidays
Parking can be difficult when it is busy, unless you are prepared to park up the road and walk.
Has toilet facilities which are a bit smelly.
My advice - try to go on a week day that is not school holidays.

Went here for the first time yesterday, with the wife and kids. We all loved it, sliding down the rocks like a natural hydro slide. (I heard it’s better to do this in the rain as a water level is higher and one can slide for longer).
There’s a great place to do bombs about 5 metres high too.
Will definitely be back.

I think this attraction is very dependent on the upstream water supply. On the day I visited, the waterfall was trickling with the flow rate of a leaking tap.
Upstream, the water was polluted and had some heavy growth of algae. There is also a lot of rubbish left behind by prior visitors. The whole area felt a bit like Shrek is about to move in and set up home.
McCarthy's Lookout is a popular viewpoint that offers splendid views of the renowned Glass House Mountains. The lookout is easily accessible via a scenic drive and boasts ample parking space and picnic tables for visitors' convenience, although there are no restroom facilities available. However, the use of drones in the area is strictly prohibited. The lookout provides an ideal location for weddings or honeymoons due to its charming ambiance.
A great view with easy access and parking. If your heading to the Botanic Gardens you will drive right past it. There are tables and a shelter if you wish to take your time to enjoy the view.
You will find a number of love padlocks on the fence here.

Breathing views just up the road from Mary Cairncross Park, it's well worth the stop! You can see right down to Brisbane City on a clear day! There's a little undercover area where you can sit and take in the view, I only wish there was a barbecue but bring a cut lunch and it's the perfect spot for a small picnic!

This is a good lookout of the Glass House Mountains. It has a little covered area to sit and eat lunch. It has a good number of parking spots as well. Overall, nothing to complain about and nothing that will blow your socks off.

A great spot to see the glass house mountains in their glory with their changing perspectives and countryside due to how the sun and clouds hit them. Absolutely beautiful and worth the stop.

Great little lookout, not very busy. Gorgeous view. Bring a padlock to secure your love on the fence.

We’ve often driven past meaning to stop … it comes up so quickly as you travel this road. It has a pleasant shelter and an awesome view of the Glasshouse mountains. Certainly worth a stop to take in the views and a few photos. A slightly better photo can be had about 200 metres closer to Mary Cairncross Park.

Beautiful 180deg view on a beautiful day. We were lucky it was not busy so it was a highlight being able to enjoy the peaceful sounds of nature 😌

Great place to stop and take in the Glasshouse Mountains. Had a couple of tables and a bin fur rubbish, but no water tap to wash hands.
Why the Council has installed a new gazebo and seat on the side that faces a neighbours house is quite puzzling though.

Very smoky from all the bush fires but still a fantastic view. Just drive up and park in one of about 8 car parking spots. Caravans and large motorhomes will need to just park in the street.

When I reached the scenery, it was draped in a white cloud. I couldn't see anything. It was raining and unusually cold.
But, fortunately, the rain stopped, and clouds started drafting. It looked like white smoke coming from wildfire. Beautiful!

Had a lovely walk from showground to Maleny town..💕
Jackielou Hickey — Google review
Obi Boardwalk is a short walk along Obi Creek. It is near the town of Maleny up in the hills near Sunshine Coast. Its main street has a variety of interesting stores and the people are very welcoming and hospitable. This is not by any means a hike or trek however. This is a short walkway about 200 meters in distance. Pleasant enough but nothing special either.

Nice place for a walk met some friendly horses and u can take ur dog there too a few statue along the way too..
Heather Robinson — Google review
This boardwalk continues on to a path, which eventually leads to the Platypus viewing platform and Beersheba Living Museum. It runs alongside the Obi Obi creek. The walk itself is calm and relaxing. However, there isn't much to see.
Thushini Goonewardene — Google review
This is a lovely walk (mostly concrete not a boardwalk) from the centre of Maleny to a viewing platform. We went around midday, not expecting to see much as Platypuses tend to be most active at dawn and dusk. But to our surprise we saw many animals including a turtle, lizards, birds and best of all a platypus!! Would definitely recommend.
Jack Joyce — Google review
I was going to rate lower right up until we actually saw the platypus.
It isnt really a board walk other than close to the shops and at the platypus lookout. It's mainly a concrete path and it's not along the river or in the trees for most of it. This does make it an easy walk though.
We took our time and were lucky and actually saw a platypus. Along with a snake, fish, an eel, many birds and a water dragon. So overall the platypus lookout was well worth the visit.
David Ashton — Google review
Not really what we expected. Given it's called a "boardwalk" we envisaged more than the first 20-30m or so being actual boardwalk. The only bit is shown in my pictures, which runs from the main road to the next somewhat disappointing bit of the "boardwalk", which is a concrete pathway that runs nowhere near the creek at all. It's up through fields. It's pretty enough and pleasant for sure, just not what you'd reasonably expect given the description. Unfortunately, no platypus to be seen either after the walk there (not only because the creek is not visible from the pathway at all for about 80% of the circa 3km walk), but also because it seems there's slim to no chance of seeing them unless it's early morning or evening time.
Russell Jones — Google review
Nice easy walk, mostly concrete path with a Platypus viewing platform, wasn't lucky enough to see one on my visit.
Angela Kajar — Google review
A most wonderful walk around the town of Maleny starts on the Obi Obi Board Walk. The boardwalk is the centre of the Maleny Trail walk that goes either side of the bridge next to the roundabout as you enter Maleny from Landsborough. If you watching out you might see a platypus in the Obi Obi Creek...we did today...Sunday, 13 February 2020. Safe journeys....

Short but nice view track. At the end you will see the pitch. Also free car park available with lots of spots
Mücahit Kaba — Google review
We saw a Platypus at the beginning of the track in the town center! We also walked to the Platypus lookout point which is 1km further down the track but didn’t see one there! We saw the Platypus when we got back from the lookout point in the town center when it was ten minutes after sunset (sunset was at 18:45 on the 29th of december). Also, look for the flying foxes after sunset there were hundreds of them!
The look is absolutely wonderful. A rare lookout with almost 360 views. There is no public rest room. The lookout itself can accommodate about 15-20 people and only very few seats. But as lookouts come this offers both Sunset and Sunrise views which is pretty awesome.

There's really no facilities here, just shelter and picnic tables.
This lookout is not wheelchair accessible.

Nice lookout for a panoramic view of the region.
It is named after the couples who donated the land for the lookout so public can enjoy the great view.
Having car park just off the main road. Couple of steps up from the car park. Got wheelchair access too.
Also having shaded tables and chairs for picnic or resting.

Beautiful spot for watching the sunrise, also the Eta Aquarids Meteor Shower. No public toilet facilities though. Sometimes serviced by a mobile coffee van.

Excellent vantage point for expansive landscape views.
Great area for seeing the sunset. But it does get a bit windy and cold later in the afternoon.
It is a bit difficult to get in when driving on the other side of the entrance. The driveway ramp is located at the bottom of a hill, and cars drive by pretty quickly, and there is no additional right turn lane to get in. The car park is also small.

This place is a great stop on the way back to Brisbane. Usually always has parking so far 🤞🏽and it's just beautiful. You can see all the way out to the sea. There is a dial there that tells you which direction some locations are so you have an idea of where everything is. We bring our tourist friends here. They love it. We love it too, it's so peaceful to look out into all that open space.

Gerrard's Lookout, nestled along the scenic Sunshine Coast Hinterland in Queensland, Australia, offers an enchanting experience for nature lovers and photography enthusiasts alike. This lookout provides a stunning vantage point to observe the vast expanse of the coastline and the lush hinterland.
Visitors are often treated to a dramatic display of nature, especially during thunderstorms. The sight of rolling clouds gathering over the ocean, slowly making their way towards the coast, is truly a spectacle. These moments, with the thunder rumbling in the distance and lightning illuminating the sky, create a mesmerizing and slightly thrilling atmosphere. The natural phenomenon provides an exceptional opportunity for photographers, both amateurs and professionals, to capture the raw beauty of nature in its most powerful form.
The lookout is not just about storm watching; on clearer days, the panoramic views of the coast and the surrounding areas are breathtaking. The changing colors of the sky at sunrise and sunset offer excellent photo opportunities, with the landscape bathed in golden hues.
Accessibility is another highlight of Gerrard's Lookout. It's easily reachable by a short drive from nearby towns, making it a convenient spot for a quick escape into nature. The facilities, including ample parking and picnic areas, add to the comfort of the visit.
In summary, Gerrard's Lookout is a gem on the Sunshine Coast, offering a unique blend of serene beauty and dramatic natural displays. It's a must-visit for anyone looking to capture the essence of Queensland's natural splendor.

A-may-sing venue, right in the middle of Maleny. Just a quick search from Brisbane, and we ended up coming here in an hour time. It's worth the drive, though.
Great setup, design, ambience.
Just one star missing from that of 5 is for that missing star service. By the time we reached, it was past 2.30 pm, and luckily, their last order was just 2.45 pm. Hopefully, the team will get there to cover up that extra mile.
No complaints, though. Our food was exceptional and kept us satisfied for the drive.

I've driven past The Barrel @ Clouds on Maleny many times and finally got a chance to visit with a group of 16 or so over 65s that we were looking after for the day. Great service, magnificent views, excellent ambience, delicious food at a reasonable price, and some excellent wine. I wasn't able to sample any as I was working. However, I took the chance and bought a white liqueur muscat, a moscato, tawny and a cream liqueur coffee. You can see from the pic that I have been sampling the liqueur coffee...it is amazing straight on 🧊 or in a ☕️. Drop into Clouds Vineyard...I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Love this place we have been three times in the past two months. As a young family it was awesome to have a playground in eye shot of of our table, as for the food I really enjoyed it and highly recommend the share plates, mains and desserts. The coffee (which isn't the best coffee in the world) and cake deal is good value and my family and I always get the cheesecake as it's a favourite. The tasting paddles are good value and give you a great little sample of the wines and are worth checking out. If you're going on a weekend be sure to book as it gets busy.

Location and the setup of this winery is fantastic. There’s also a children’s playground and a large chess board so the littlies can be occupied whilst parents enjoy their time. I really look forward to this day to visit Maleny Art Direct, but I was very disappointed with arrogance of the Curator. She doesn't give any consideration or don't want to encourage emerging artists. Art is pure business in this place. I am never gonna visit this place. Perfect example of racism.

I walked past the gallery recently and was shocked to see an adults only “peek show” on display through the front glass facade. I think this type of imagery and themes is inappropriate for a “family friendly”street. I noticed some young children looking through the display to their horror and disgust. I hope this is the last of its kind on display and I would encourage the gallery manager to re-think their audience in ensuring their art is all-age appropriate.

I attended the opening of the Peep Show at Maleny Art Direct on Saturday night. Walking past the blacked out window I was encouraged to stop and PEEP through the peep holes. Standing on tip toes and peeping in I had to laugh at the two nude cartoon artwork people standing side by side grinning and laughing back at me. Then I had to go into the gallery and was pleasantly surprised at the artworks scattered around the gallery space. Loved the pops of colour and the humour. Would highly recommend dropping in for a good giggle, really brightened my day 5 stars!!! Definitely for mature aged, open minded people.

The curator was arrogant & rude! My wife wanted to purchase an intaglio print, before purchasing one, she asked the woman for Web site or social media details of the artist so she could research them as the curator didn't know what kind of Etching or plate the artist uses. The response from the curator was as follows... "ffftttt Artists don't do Web sites or social media, they are terrible with business. Artists are too busy making art to worry about computers or social media!" Hmmmmm if only that curator knew who she was talking to? My wife is a full time Artist and Lecturer in Art, she relies on social media & her website to book art shows & sell her works nationally & internationally. It's a shame that curators like this woman pigeon hole Artists in this kind of way!

I visited Maleny Lane food alley in Maleny and it was amazing. It was like I could have been anywhere in the world. There were food shacks on either side of this alley way and funky music playing at the end of this small but intimate place. The food smells were amazing with foods from Korea, Thai, India, Mexico and more. I stopped at a new food shack called Katy's Vegan Kitchen, it was amazing!. Katy greeted me with a beautiful friendly smile and all her food was home cooked, vegan food (made with luv) she said! I had an amazing Vegan burger and chips and a beautiful Juice called 'Katy's luv juice' Lol! It had beetroot, oranges, carrots, pineapple and ginger in it. I sat and listened to the music that went all day and had to go back later and try her pesto pasta with olives and fetta cheese and her sticky date pudding. I was tempted to eat the Falafel and Humus pocket but I had zero room left in the tummy. It was an amazing experience and I felt like I could have been anywhere in the world. I highly recommend going to Maleny Lane and check out Katy's vegan kitchen.

When In Maleny do try Nepali restaurant “Casa Nepali Kitchen” food. I had tried their Chicken pakora + chicken momo (dumplings) + chicken noodles. So fresh and authentic taste. Plus point they have nepali chia (tea) available as well. Service was very nice . And atmosphere is very happy and vibrant always there.

Simon says Superb!
We visited Maleny Lane & had lunch at Katies Vegan Kichen. OMG, the home-made quality food from this stall is delicious!
Good variety of choices. We had the Burger, the Tapas sharing platter, the Penne Pesto Pasta, the Buddha Bowl, and home-made juice.
Also the Banana Cake was the best I've ever had!
Real food and a great good-vibe atmosphere with music.
Bring your appetite and your friends.
Empty Plate Score 10/10

Great space to go at twilight (open 530-9pm) for dinner and an insight into the local community atmosphere. $10 cash entry per person - this cover charge goes to the musicians. BYO drinks including BYO glassware. The world food stalls have an array of different food options which change depending which stalls are open.

We ate at the Korean restaurant, which was doing great business, so very busy. The food is very tasty and authentic. What was disappointing was that so many other eateries were closed. This really affected the atmosphere and food choices.
Great library!
Lots of computers available, as well as places to plug in to charge electronics, and the staff are friendly and attentive. Best of all there is a window seat with sunshine streaming in overlooking a nearby playground that is just perfect for curling up and reading in. On my visit there was a quotation painted on the main panel of the window - someone has obviously spent some time designing this library to be a cut above the rest! 10/10!

For the most part of this library is adequate with lovely staff. However, I have placed a reservation twice on a popular book and gone in to pick it up within the 10 day pick up period and the staff have loaned the book out to other people without being willing to apologise for their mistakes. It is very frustrating when driving into town especially for a book.

Great location. Very picturesque. Friendly and helpful staff. Easily accessible in the middle of Maleny. Read and Write for Life "free" classes are held on Wednesday afternoons.

This library is way too small for needs of this town.
Great place to stop and eat or just take a break and enjoy the view. Went up on a weekday and had the place to ourselves. Picnic table under a roof at the turnaround, just note there are no parking spots so have to park on gravel or grass.

Good lookout over Glasshouse Mountains with picnic table, no other facilities.

Quite with great views all round. The lawns surrounding the gazebo were freshly cut but along the fence line the weeds are overgrown. This did obstruct the views.

This has to be one of the most beautiful spots to visit. You can come here anytime, you can go during a summers day for a picnic or even sit in your car with some food and look at the beautiful view all around you 280 degrees of pure bliss in the rich rain and clouds and be amazed either way!
To be able to look over the whole Sunshine Coast is quite spectacular to observe.
I have also been able to capture some beautiful photos here but I've lost the photos due to storage problems, I highly recommend visiting this look out 💯❤ it's free 🖖😊👌

Would give a 5 star if the barbed wires weren't in the way of the view of rolling hills one side and glasshouse mountains on our way out of the lookout. Stunning peaceful surrounds!

What a hidden gem. Beautiful at sunrise and sunset. Plenty of grass for a picnic and a hut with table.
One of our favourite places to chill & take in the views. Dog friendly. Love it!

Love this spot the views are fantastic. Always make it a stop off point when on the bike. Get a drink and of course a pie and stop off to enjoy that view.

This lookout is one of the best. You can park your car under the big tree and look easterly to the Sunshine Coast.
One if the best times to visit is Winter when you will see amazing views. Don't forget your camera.

Great easterly views over the whole sunshine coast. Picnic tables and parking. You might spot a paraglider if the wind is onshore.

One of my favourite lookouts where to have picnic in the area
What an amazing local place to be able to visit. Beautiful walk to a stunning waterfall and rock pools to swim in. Water was freezing when first got in, but we soon got used to it. Definitely highly recommend going here!

A nice lookout. Not really worth the walk just for this so make sure you visit the rock pools and waterfall lookout aswell. The lush rainforest along the walk is lovely, but there's not a whole lot of information about the trees and plants.
