Indrayanti Beach, located in the Gunung Kidul Area, is a picturesque white-sand beach surrounded by lush trees and boulders. The beach boasts of panoramic beauty with its majestic hills of coral rocks and sparkling blue sea. Visitors can relax on the beach or indulge in water sports like jet skiing for IDR 250,000 per 15 minutes.
Finally, a white sand beach in Yogyakarta. It's clean and the seawater is crystal clear. There's a huge rock on the both left and right side that you can climb to see the vast blue sea. The entry tariff is cheap, only 10k rupiahs per person, and to climb the rock is 3k rupiahs
Just be careful, though. The road that heading to this beach is having so much blind spot. Drive/ride carefully, and you'll get there.

One of recomended vacation itinerary in jogjakarta, other than historical building, temples and palaces jogja also have a good beach in its southern part
Indrayanti beach
A good beach in gunung kidul region of jogja
Quite far from the city though
I come around 12PM in the afternoon just to see the beautiful crashing waves of southern seas..but you can Come above 3 PM WIB for the low tide (before that the waves is kinda big),
The beach is still clean and the water is clear
The sand is also soft, there is also some local shops for fresh coconuts
Although far from main place (like malioboro and other tourist spots) its totally worth it !

Very beautiful, today everybody found a lot of water sources near each other, there was a hole going in under the tough solid rock (not the rocks in the beach or the sand, but just the rock like the normal rock you stand on.) . Some say that there is a river, some say there was just water sources. Though the second is correct. I have been there for hours but water still flows from that exact location of the water sources. You should also be careful in the seashore. There are sea urchins. In the rocks if you see a hole going below the rocks, do NOT reach your hand inside it without seeing what is inside, because there might be a sea urchin. The very seashore, should have sea urchins the size of a marble, if you go further away from seashore, you will find bigger ones under the rocks that have bigger holes. The bigger ones is estimated to be the size of a ping pong. But we didn't go far from the seashore. So BE CAREFUL.

Beautiful, clean and thick white sand and quite far from the breaking waves, thus quite safe for children

I always love this beach. White sand and so clean. We can take gorgeous photos from any angle. The beach is beautiful and has big waves so it is not recommended swimming for beginners and kids. Typical of the sea in the southern part of Indonesia. But there are some spots where children can play water comfortably.
And don’t be lazy to always keep clean wherever you are. Peace!!!

Came here again. Actually this place was my fav beach, the lastest I came here was around 3 years ago. I loved the white sand, the big stone on the right is so instagramable. But, I was quite surprised about the fnb price. You need to spent for 23K for a whole coconut. It was only around 18K but now is not affordable anymore.

The beach view is beautiful with blue water and white sand, we can also swim or just play the water in the beach. There is also a hill but if we want to climb it up we have to pay again but unfortunatelly there many tourists who still throw therl rubbish. For the facilities there are many public toilets, small mosque. But to get there it takes about 2 hours by car.
Nestled amidst a picturesque forest and limestone cliffs, Sri Gethuk Waterfall is a popular attraction for swimming. It's one of the most easily accessible waterfalls in the Jogja region, with only a 10-minute walk and boat ride from the parking lot. The waterfall provides an excellent opportunity to experience being close to nature's wonder. Despite being visited mostly during dry seasons, it still flows quite well.
Lovely place to have a swim and it's a bit off the beaten track so pretty quiet when I went midweek. 25k for entry, 20k to swim in the river (you need to have a lifejacket) Not sure about the boat, as I walked and it only takes about ten minutes. It's mostly downhill, so a bit trickier going back up!

"Not recommended as a destination until they address their management issues. Several incidents during my visit left me frustrated. Firstly, the cost: there are options to reach the waterfall either by walking or by boat. Opting for the boat requires a payment of Rp. 10,000 per person for a round trip. The problem arose when, after paying for six people, the boat left us stranded during our return trip. Despite waiting for an hour, it did not return, prompting us to walk back to the entrance.
Another issue concerns the area near the waterfall. Besides the main waterfall, there is a small path leading to the river. Intrigued by the sight of a foreigner and a tour guide walking the path, my friends and I decided to follow. Excitement turned to disappointment when the tour guide yelled at us, insisting it was a forbidden area unsuitable for tourism. When questioned about a foreigner being allowed, he simply stated the foreigner was with him. Only later did we notice a sign on a tree indicating the boundaries of a play area, which we hadn't seen initially as the tour guide casually walked there. Subsequently, they even crossed the river and played in the area.
Lastly, in addition to the unpleasant events, I advise against visiting during the rainy season. The river becomes dirty and murky, making swimming unappealing."

Waterfalls were okay. Not that wow, but if you have spare time, it's quite nice to be there. But sometimes it' crowded with people. You will have difficulty to take pictures of the falls.
We went with the raft, and I think the view was more beautiful along the few minutes journey.
And garbage were everywhere, too...

The waterfall is so beautiful, and the surrounding area is also very calming. Although I think the waterfall area is not large enough to accommodate many people, so be aware when you visit it during the weekend.
Entry ticket is affordable, and the parking area for both car and motorcycle are available. The road not so good at some point, so please be careful.

great recreational place, we can enjoy beautiful waterfall here. although we have to walk for about 2 km from the parking area to the waterfall. if you are too tired to walk, you can also use the flying fox or small ship they provided there. there are some store sell gorengan and clothes as well.

One of the easiest accesible waterfall in jogja region. From the parking lot to the waterfall only took about 10 minutes walk + boat ride of 10 thousand (June 2019), you can challenge yourself to walk towards the waterfall, but I chose the easy way.
It was in the dry season when I went here, but the water flowed quite a lot (I wasn't expecting this). You can opt to swim on the river near the waterfall but it is very cold (it was around 11am).
This site provided a good exposure for you who wanted to see and feel the sensation of being in a waterfall.
There are no toilets near to the waterfall, but quite a lot near the parking area or near the food vendors. Squat toilet and clean water are available.

Local restaurant is ok considering local running business.
The road to go here is well paved.. some potholes will not disturbing much.

If you are looking for nature, water, river, cliff, waterfall, handmade boat, and playing wet, well....you find the place. Sri Gethuk Waterfall is a place that serves you with all those items. you can ride the short journey though the river slowly and enjoy the nature before at the end it welcomes you with a small but nice waterfall. when it is not in the rainy season, you can find the calm water if you want to swim in the river, but in general it will be in a package when you asked a guide. Generally i don't think you need a guide as it is easy to reach because you can reach form the ticket booth to the waterfall by on foot. However, a guide here will just pay attention when you are inside the water because...who knows. Moreover if you bring kids. Floating suite is provided in the package. I forget about the complete package, but they will keep your belongings while you are playing around since river, waterfall and loose items are not a good friend if you drop one of your items LOL. anyway...don't be stingy with your money when you are visiting this kind of places, you will help local community to survive as the area itself is in the middle of nowhere. The people are friendly and the water is nice and deep. yet, you need to be careful when step on the stones as some of the are slippery. In general...enjoy the travel...enjoy the destination...and enjoy the surrounding.
Gunung Nglanggeran is a majestic volcanic mountain that offers picturesque hiking trails, panoramic sunset views, and an abundance of lush vegetation. The challenging ascent to the peak requires physical endurance and a reliable mode of transportation. However, the breathtaking scenery along the way makes it worth the effort. One of the best place in Jogja for enjoying sunset
Kawasan Ekowisata Gunung Api Purba Nglanggeran is a well-known tourist destination, located at the summit of a volcano where visitors can witness an exquisite sunrise. It usually takes around an hour to hike up the volcano and reach the top where one can enjoy breathtaking views. This popular spot is cherished by tourists for its picturesque landscape and natural beauty.
Wonderful mountain and view, especially its sunset. The track is moderate with high cliff on the left and right. There are two narrow tracks that is dark although at midday. At the top, we can see Merapi and Merbabu mountains if the weather is clear. Also, we can find some hand-made wooden tracks.

You have to hike . If you're not in a good shape, or don't have several hours to spent, then go to Embung instead and enjoy the scenery of cliffs from there . The track well maintained. There are 5 huts. The first one is about 30 minutes hike. The last one is one hour away from the first hut I guess. Like many places in Yogya, the way out or go down is a lot easier or less steep. Use it instead. You won't break any rules. It's just further from the ticket gate, no one knows it prior hiking. so people tend to use the steep track . We informed by drinking sellers up there.

An easy hike. It's more like a walk up the hill. Came here for both sunrise and sunset. Love the view. Beautiful.
It took me (not a frequent hiker, but often do physical activities) 40mins to reach the top.
Tips: It can get quite cold after sunset and before sunrise, so make sure you bring a sweater.
Bring a bottle of water and a pack of biscuit for snack. They do have small stall there, but the two times I went there, it is close. So I'm not really sure if it is ever open at all.
If you come for sunrise, you might wanna start around 4.00am, otherwise if you started earlier you'll end up freezing at the top.
Bring flashlight for your trip down after sunset, and hike up for a sunrise.
Situated in Yogyakarta, Pok Tunggal Beach is a serene haven that blends adventure and tranquility. Surrounded by verdant cliffs and lush greenery, this picturesque beach boasts a lengthy stretch of white sands and clear-blue waters. The iconic Duras Tree provides the perfect photo opportunity for visitors. However, the journey to reach the beach can be challenging due to poorly maintained roads; yet, it is well worth it for those who appreciate natural beauty.
It was a challenge to get in this place, quite remote spot and you'll lose signal automatically. But totally worth it, beautiful scenery and white sands. Just be careful with the waves, kinda wild. It really looks like Melasti beach in Bali.

Drini Beach is a well-known beach in the Gunungkidul area, which is separated into two sections by a coral island. The white sand beach offers visitors access to a restaurant and fish market, as well as plenty of opportunities for water activities like canoeing or playing in the water. Around 2017 when I was in 9th grade, I visited this beach during the school tour. The road to the beach is uphill and winding because it is located in the highland. The beach is far from the main street so if you want to visit this beach, you should go using your vehicle like a car or motorbike, or you can ride the local transportation called ojek (motorcycle taxi).
This beach is not as famous as Parangtritis but the view is much better than Parangtritis beach, in my opinion. The beach is surrounded by hills because it is located in the highland, the sand is still white, and the water is still as clear as a crystal. You can also rent snorkeling equipment if you want to see the underwater creatures. There are a lot of small shops and restaurants here if you want to avoid the sunny and hot weather, and most of the shops and restaurants have rest room and praying room for the visitors. Although the scenery is beautiful, there were not much visitors at this beach, so it is the best place for you if you want to relieve the stress by seeing such a beautiful view.
Overall, this beach is a perfect destination for holiday. Even though it is far from the center of Yogyakarta, it worth the wait. The scenery is amazing, the price for foods and drinks is normal, and the local guides are really nice and helpful.

No interesting food in the resto’s only instant meal. But they have usually fresh coconut water. There are shower and toilet facilities around 5.000 IDR. Some dark and dirty, some really clean ones with day light.
When flooded it is possible to swim upfront. When the water in the afternoon goes away it remains a pool easy to roam for small non swimming kids. Don’t leave the kids unattended, there might be bigger waves that come in unexpected. In the afternoon you can walk on the coral/stones “platform” that shows up stuffed with bright green seaweed on the surface to be able to reach the big rock. Very “instagramable” 😊

the view is very beautiful, the facilities are in the process of being built but the picture is already visible, the construction of the mini port is like not in Wonosari, when we arrived there were only 2 cars, including my family and several motorbikes, maybe because it was only launched around last month, we planned 6 next month or next year, I'm wondering what it will look like when the plants in the garden are big and the other facilities are ready... you have to visit but keep it clean so it stays beautiful... throw the rubbish in its place, yesterday there wasn't a rubbish bin available, hopefully there will be one later

A white sandy beach in south sea of Java? This Gesing Beach is one of a kind. Placed in a bay between a cliff with smooth sand and clear water, this beach is safe for playing near the water (I recommend not to swim because, it’s southern sea of Java with strong current). There’s a fish auction near and a lot of local fisherman boats. There’s a lot of parking area here and the public toilets are clean. But if you are a moslem, there’s mosque up the hill without a water to wudhu. But there’s a house behind it with a water tank but she (the owner) stingyly said that the water was expensive and the equipment was also expensive and then ordered us to do tayammum instead. Rude Karen, Indonesia has rude Karen. Even if she wears a hijab and obviously do pray like us like what the hell?!

Amazing view. The beach is located just close to the Heha Ocean View. Unfortunately during our visit (it was on early Jan '23), it was under construction. So we couldnt get near to the shore. Anyway, seeing the beautiful Indian ocean from edge of the cliff was just awesome. eventhough the sky was a bit gloomy that time, but the shade of blue combined with the greeneries at the cliff was just perfect.

The site is still open for public even though under construction. However, this construction has obstructed not only the cleanliness but also the beach’s scenery. I It is not recommended to visit the beach unless the construction has been finished. You have to pay IDR 10k for the entrance ticket, and IDR 5k for motorbike parking.

You won't be disappointed visiting this beach. With beautiful cliff and wave, you will be satisfied with the view of Southern Sea of Java. The place is little bit remote but the road for reaching the place is already good. You can enjoy this beach like private beach because just some people know this place.

Please take note that this place has changed from a white sandy beach which you can play to a fishery dock (which still undergoing construction)
However, lots of other tourist attraction built here mostly for photos, caffee, etc. Near HeHa Oceanview is also present.
The dock probably finished this year's end (probably). Might be a good fishing spot. Please take care of your trash if you fish here because lots of trash in some fishing point.

The first time I was here, the beach is very clean with the amazing view. the water was very clear. Not really big beach.
But nowadays, it's not really clean anymore. There are some garbages and stinky smells.
There are some food stalls, so no worry for hungry and thirsty.

Goa Pindul Jogja is a popular tourist attraction where visitors can experience cave and river tubing. The full package includes visits to Pindul Cave and Oyo River, as well as a crystal cave tour and lunch package. A guide named Mr. Riyanto from Wirawisata provides excellent service by sharing stories, assisting with photography, and telling jokes. Visitors should bring toiletries, towels, and spare clothes since the changing rooms are simple with basic toilets.
Good place and service. The guide is very polite and nice. I recommend to get the photographer service to document your trip in here.

For Tourists:
- be careful, already 20km before people are trying to scam you (taxi service, parking, they tell you lies about these and that, why you have to book their service)
- the cave itself is nice, you can go there, BUT they charge a lot more for tourists (200k vs. 40k), though you can discuss a significant discount.
- be aware you pay entry fee (with car) already 1km before, and after they want parking fee, which is nowhere signed.
So beautiful cave, so bad service/scam everywhere. That's not how you get tourists or recommendations!

Watch out if you are not Indonesian. They will charge you first 10k for entrance, and then they have different prices for locals and non Indonesians. For non Indonesian are the prices way higher. They have 3 packages with 2 different caves and a waterfall. You can negotiate and get a discount. We got 2 caves for 200k instead for 300k but without lunch. The caves are quite small but you can swim there. On the website it looks more fun than it actually is.

Pindul caves are a collection of number of caves which have small water bodies flowing through it. Ultimately all these water bodies meet the small river flowing in the village.
Currently there are 12 companies doing the cave tour, you can pick any of those. The tour is for about 30 minutes where they guide you through cave on a tube. The calcite formations inside the cave are interesting. Also some small bat species (fruit bat and masquito eating bats) live inside the caves. The guide will explain everything throughout the tour.
Once the cave trip is done, you have option to go tubing in the river. For this they will take you to another spot. The approach is rough and sometimes dirty, but the river is amazing. It has warm water flowing through surrounding paddy fields as well as cold water flowing through caves. There are slso couple of spots at which you can do cliff jumping (4 meters and 7 meters). End of the river tubing trip you will get to see beautiful paddy fields, which are far better than the paddy fields you see in Bali.
Overall its a fun experience and you can do it with your family including kids.

Looks i got alot have fun played with waters when my body from hair to toe are wet. If it wasn’t rain, maybe just half of my body is wets. Because I can’t swim too, so i didnt jump from the rock.
Embung Nglanggeran is a stunning lake situated on a volcanic mountain, which serves as a rainwater collection point for the neighboring fruit orchards. Positioned south of the ancient Nglanggeran mountain, it provides an exceptional view of the surrounding range. The place offers traditional food stalls (warung) and several gazebos that are strategically positioned for resting and capturing photos. It's ideal to visit during early morning or late afternoon because it can get quite hot during mid-day hours.
Embung Nglanggeran is a perfect getaway spot for those seeking a serene and peaceful atmosphere. With ample parking space and nearby food stalls, visitors can enjoy a hassle-free experience. The entrance fee is very affordable, making it an ideal destination for family vacations.
The panoramic view of the lush green valley and serene lake that can be seen from the top of the hill is truly breathtaking. The trek to the hilltop is a bit challenging, but it is worth it for the stunning scenery that awaits. Whether it's for a quick day trip or an extended stay, Embung Nglanggeran is a must-visit destination for those seeking relaxation and natural beauty.

This reservoir is located just south of the ancient Nglanggeran mountain. From this location you get a better view of the mountain range. There are a few traditional food stalls (warung) but most were closed during the Ramadhan. A number of strategically located gazebos for resting and photo spots are provided for the visitors. Best time to visit is early morning or late afternoon, it gets really hot during mid-day.

I think this place was a good place with artificial lake. But when i went there, the lake was dry. The background of this place was Nglanggeran Ancient Volcano. Great to taking picture and a great place to watching the sunset. It will be better when you come on evening or morning. Wonosari city view will seen from this hill.
Oh ya, the road was uphill road. Nice place to bringing your family, friends, or lover.

The place is quite high and the road is narrow and stiff. However, they apply one way road to go up and the other road to go down so cars won't be crossing each other. I went there when it was raining but the road was good. No holes on the road and it's not bumpy too.
Pantai Slili is a small beach set in a bay, featuring a mixture of compact rocks and sand. The area offers visitors the convenience of nearby lodgings and shelter huts to enjoy the stunning views. Ngrenean Beach is situated in a tranquil bay and is adorned with indigenous fishing boats. The beach is shielded by verdant limestone cliffs, providing a serene atmosphere for visitors. However, the cleanliness of this beach has been compromised due to the significant amount of litter that has accumulated over time. Nevertheless, it remains the only safe swimming spot in the area. Fresh seafood delicacies such as fish, prawns and squid are readily available at affordable prices from local warungs located along the coastline.
The beach is beautiful. Not very clean, because many fishing boats. if the weather is good, fishing boats can be boarded by several people to get around the beach. And can swim on the beach. But still have to be careful yaa..

Not a hangout beach. Basically a fishermans' bay. Fish at the restaurants is seriously overpriced (cheaper in the supermarket in the city....). If you want to buy seafood, do it at the small fish market on the right where they stop you for tickets

Bukit Paralayang Watugupit is a popular tourist destination that offers a stunning view of the Indian Ocean and nearby beaches, as well as serving as a take-off point for paragliding. The ride up to this place was bumpy and it was like riding up a 45-degree angled slope. If you're going there by car, get one that has enough power because it can really get very steep.
When walking up the stairs to see the sunset, do bear in mind that they can be very steep (basically this whole place is steep) so be careful. There were also so many people - I estimated at least 60.
We didn't manage to get there in time to see the sunset because there was a super serious traffic jam, but we managed to catch the remnants of it. It was really pretty nonetheless and we stood there for a while just appreciating the beauty of nature. The waves that come and go at the shore add to its beauty too.

Nice place to visit during vacation. However, visitor must pay for each photo spots, but they provide all-in tickets. Also, the access there is kinda difficult especially during holiday when many people going there.

The route to reach this place is a mountain road without street lamp, kind of dangerous. So far from Yogyakarta, you need +/- two hours from Yogyakarta to this place. Overall this place is not bad, but it's far from my expectation.

This venue has a beautiful view of the ocean by the Cliffside. However the most attractive photo spots require you to additional tickets, such as the glass balcony and the boat. My queue was 4 hours, so I decided to cancel our plans. Recommended to come early for avoiding long queues.

Far from the centre of Yogyakarta city. Nice place and great view. Nice service and the duration to take pict on Teras Kaca is 2 minutes/person by IDR 20k/person. Then, 3 minutes/person by IDR 15k/person.
Wonderful place to pray.
Relaxed ambience, quiet, and very clean area.
Haven't tried to have 'Jalan Salib' or The Way of the Cross experience here. But will go back to have that.
The car park is on the top, you must walk a little to reach the cave area. If you come with old parents, there are 'ojek' or motorbike riders to help them go up and down.

One of the most beautiful Saint Mary cave in Indonesia..it was a place for worshiping local religion called "kejawen" before it become like now..its a catholic pligrimate place but there are other religion members like islam, hindu and budha likes to do meditate in here..just as we arrive, some women offering us candles for making an offering to Saint Mary later in the cave and umbrella for covering us from the heat of the sun..for older people they provide motorcycle and car to take them to the cave because the road is quite far from parking lot

pilgrimage to religious tourism sites is a form of how we are grateful for the blessings that are abundant in our lives, this time I went to this place with my family, because of the long holiday we took the time to come here, the road to here is much better than before, even the it becomes clean and shady because there are many trees and gardens around this place, and when praying the place is also very comfortable and quiet because it is in a cave which occurs naturally

Very beautiful "Gua Maria". It painted black. And Jesus also beautiful. It's in a nature cave and so green too. Still on renovation the road. To make more comfortable for visitor. Indeed the locals like to follow us

The place was improving a lot. You can pray in silence and eating inside the cave is prohibited. You are allowed to take as much holy water you need, but i found it inappropriate to use the water to wash your face and feet, since it can be done in the toilet before entering the cave. I was here with elders, so we decided to take the shortcut to get near the cave. It's a place to pray and do things in silence even though you're going along within a group. KINDLY READ THE RULES and do each with respect.

A well-known place, an ancient naturally formed big cave with stalactites hanging from the roof of the cave, water still dripping here and there, and stalagmites that were mostly flattened out to make way for the floor. Beautiful, serene, majestic. ... People come from everywhere for the adoration of Mother Mary.

Great place, nice and quiet, magnificent. The mother Mary is painted black, but still look gorgeous. However, you have to walk pretty far from parking lot. But it is worth the price.
