Kalari Kshethra is an impressive martial arts school that showcases traditional art forms such as Kathakali and Kalari. The skilled performers are well-trained and dedicated to their craft, displaying a high level of perfection in their performances. It is a great place for families to visit as they can learn about the culture while being entertained by these talented artists and athletes.
Beautiful shows! Worth visiting, tickets can be bough at the entrance. Make up session is opened before the show, you can come early and talk with the actors.
Photos are allowed after every show.
Both were amazing!

It was an amazing experience..I have never seen these art forms in real life..Artists are well trained and perfect..Hats off to all
However, I would like to give one star less because of only one thing. Humble request to the management, please don’t keep plate outside to put money on that..It’s an insult for the artist who is standing beside it. They must have practiced these art forms from very young age and with so much of hard work and dedication…Respect Artists
Overall it’s was a worth place to visit.

Really great original Kalari experience by Lalu and team. Amazing feats of traditional Kerala martial arts. Some mesmerising acts and performance by everyone showcasing finesse, fitness, concentration and years of training.

This is a must do for everyone visiting. Here you can enjoy the Kathakali dance followed by some stunning displays of traditional martial arts , acrobatics and stunts involving fire. You can also get up close and personal with the artists/performers, take photos and interact with them. There are two shows- Kathakali (5-6 pm)followed by Kalari(6-7 pm). Each show costs INR 200 per head. Parking is limited and very tricky, in a nearby lane. On the highway, it's a no-parking zone. It's an experience completely worthwhile and I would recommend it to everyone visiting Munnar.

Anamudi, the 2,695-m high mountain which stands tall in the Eravikulam National Park is the pride of Kerala. It is the highest point in India outside the Himalayan Mountain Ranges. Anamudi, together with the Eravikulam Park, is home to one of the largest surviving populations of Asian elephants, Gaurs and the Nilgiri Tahrs. The mountain, covered with evergreen forests and inhabited by endemic flora and fauna and a vibrant avian life, is a paradise in the wild. The green forest is also the source of some large and scenic rivers in Kerala and the nearby State of Tamil Nadu.

As compared to the rest of Munnar and other view points this one clearly lacks behind. Went there just because it is known for the sunset view....but not much to see there. It does provide a landscape view but it is very ordinary. Same or even much much better views can be seen from places that are not even considered as popular viewpoints in Munnar. Totally skippable place.

it's a popular spot if you are in Munnar area to visit. it is a protected area. We have to take the national park bus from the foot hills to get to the park.
The main attraction is the Nilgiri Thar which is very similar to Goat and is a species near extinction.

Visiting this place was an absolutely wonderful experience. The view was nothing short of mesmerizing, with lush green hills stretching as far as the eye could see. Particularly during the rainy season, the sight of clouds intermingling with gentle rays of sunlight created a captivating panorama that one simply cannot afford to miss.
To reach the top, we had the option of availing the national park vehicle, which required a fee of 200 per person. This vehicle conveniently dropped us off at the designated point, from where we embarked on a scenic walk towards the summit. The walking path was well-maintained, ensuring a pleasant journey. Additionally, for those seeking a more convenient option, an e-vehicle service was available. However, it's worth noting that opting for the e-vehicle would incur additional charges.
In conclusion, the experience of visiting this place was truly memorable. The breathtaking view of the hills and surrounding greenery, particularly during the rainy season, was awe-inspiring. While the journey to the top involved either a picturesque walk or an optional e-vehicle ride at an extra cost, the overall experience was well worth it. I highly recommend making a visit to this remarkable destination.

The view is the most amazing part of the location - most picturesque view of munnar tea plantations and forest.
The Nilgiri tahr were there but no other wilderness was visible, due to the loud crowd and limited area access, making it almost zoo-like, and animals afraid to come out near the pedestrian paths.

Lakkam Waterfalls Munnar is a well-known cascading falls hidden in dense jungle that requires a hike to access. The water is pure and the scenery beautiful, though it cannot be considered a large waterfall but rather a small patch of rocks through which the water flows. The area is safe and monitored by forest guards, making it an ideal location for families to enjoy and play in the water.
Nice and pleasant waterfalls. The water seems pure. It can't really be called a huge waterfalls but a small patch of rocks, through which the water flows.

This waterfall in Munnar is a must-visit. It offers an opportunity to enjoy the cool water falling from approx 10 ft height just the right one for bath and isn't too deep, yet precautions are essential. Access requires a nominal entry fee. Additionally, a souvenir shop caters to those interested in purchasing memorabilia.
However, parking might pose a challenge as it involves managing along the roadside

One of the best waterfalls around munnar. You can take a dip here. The flow can be strong during monsoons, but it's a safe area where you can take a dip.
The ride to the place also is beautiful.

One of the most beautiful places in this area, its not even far from the road and the entry fee is also minimal (50 i remember). I went there in Nov so it was very cold that time. The best part is they allow you to go extremely near to the fall where decent photos can be taken.

One of the most famous and most beautiful Waterfalls in munnar. Located on the way to Marayoor. Entry fee is a bit steep at 50 rupees per head. I did see a few people taking bath in tbf water near the falls. The falls are beautiful and produce this fine mist as water falls down the cliff. The whole area is well maintained. There are also toilets available.

A nice and beautiful waterfall near the marayoor road. Entry fee 50/- per head. Street parking available but difficult to find. Dress changes rooms for women and men available. But no clock room. It is very difficult to stand under the waterfall when water is plenty. You can swim and bathe near it. Watch the rocks under the water, it will make your feet hurt or pain.

It was a thrilling experience, it is probably the only waterfall having adequate volume of water during February month in Munnar. Plenty of space for fun activities. Lots of tourism. It is around 1 hour journey from Munnar city. Operates all days of week from 8:30 am until 4 pm. Once you enter at 4 pm , you can come out by 5. Water flow is really heavy, although it might not appear in the images but it is.

This waterfall in Munnar is a must-visit, especially captivating when the water levels are high. It offers an opportunity to enjoy the water, which isn't too deep, yet precautions are essential. Access requires a nominal entry fee. Amenities like dressing rooms and toilets are available, alongside a forest department-run canteen for those seeking refreshments. Additionally, a souvenir shop caters to those interested in purchasing memorabilia. However, parking might pose a challenge as it involves managing along the roadside

A beautiful waterfall located between munnar - maryur route. The place is well maintained with a refreshing view of the falls from the main road. The only issue found is finding a parking spot , as there is no designated lots available, you gotta find parking along the road side . Best thing is you can take a dip in the water and feel the chillness of the cold water!!! . The management also runs a restaurant close to the entrance and will serve you with good Kerala dishes!!!

Nice place to chill on the weekend. Parking is sometimes a risk, as there is no proper area for parking; we need to park on the road. Also, the restaurant nearby is good. You can enjoy delicious Kerala Meals, Fish Fry, and Biryani at a reasonable rate.

Very good. Must visit 👍
The dam looks like a beautiful lake.
You can enjoy a 15-minute long motor-boat ride in the lake, or just shoot memorable pics along its banks.
I first visited this lake in 2005. Now in June 2023, I feel that the water was more pristine in 2005 than what it is now.
Maybe something has changed, or maybe it was a different season when I visited for the first time. I don't remember the exact date of the first visit.
But anyway, it is still a good place to go.

Our visit to Mattupetty Dam near Munnar was an extraordinary experience, heightened by the dramatic moment when the dam was opened. Witnessing the water unleash its power in a ferocious display was both exhilarating and a testament to the force of nature. The added spectacle of a rainbow catching the light at just the right angle, creating a breathtaking view against the backdrop of the water, was an unforgettable sight.
Choosing to visit before noon was a wise decision, allowing us to enjoy the spectacle without the discomfort of the midday heat. A tip for future visitors: a cap is advisable to protect against the sun, enhancing the comfort of your visit. Overall, it was a splendid experience.

Title: Scenic Beauty and Serenity at Mattupetty Dam!
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Review:
My visit to Mattupetty Dam in Munnar was a delightful experience that left me mesmerized by its scenic beauty and tranquil surroundings. I would rate it four stars for its natural charm and the serenity it offers.
Mattupetty Dam is located amidst the picturesque landscapes of Munnar, offering stunning views of the surrounding hills and the vast reservoir. The sight of the clear blue waters against the backdrop of lush greenery is truly captivating. It's a perfect spot for nature lovers and photography enthusiasts to capture the beauty of Munnar.
The dam itself is well-maintained and offers a pleasant walk along its length. Walking along the dam and feeling the gentle breeze on my face was a refreshing experience. The peaceful ambiance and the sound of the water flowing added to the overall serenity of the place.
Boating on the reservoir is a popular activity at Mattupetty Dam. I took a boat ride and enjoyed the peaceful cruise, taking in the panoramic views of the surrounding hills. It's a great way to get closer to nature and appreciate the vastness of the reservoir. However, I would suggest checking the availability of boating in advance, as it can get crowded during peak tourist seasons.
There are also some scenic trails and viewpoints near the dam, offering panoramic vistas of the tea gardens and mountains. Exploring these trails and enjoying the breathtaking views was a highlight of my visit. It's a paradise for nature enthusiasts and hikers.
One aspect that could be improved is the availability of facilities and amenities. There are limited food and refreshment options near the dam, so it's advisable to carry water and snacks. Additionally, the restroom facilities could be better maintained.
Overall, Mattupetty Dam is a beautiful destination that showcases the natural splendor of Munnar. Its scenic beauty, peaceful ambiance, and opportunities for boating and hiking make it a worthwhile visit. While some improvements in facilities would enhance the experience, it remains a must-visit spot for those seeking tranquility and stunning views in Munnar. I would highly recommend a visit, and I rate it four stars for its natural charm and serene atmosphere.

This is just an amazing view to see with our eyes.
First of all we don't even have to buy any tickets for seeing this amazing dam, the road is over the dam, while travelling you can see both side , One side is the dam gate and the other is just an amazing valley ( lake surrounded by mountains).
While day time, the water is just amazing to see, the lights are reflected so nicely and the area is just amazing.
I would recommend you to park your vehicle nearby and walk over the road to get the best experience, they do have a boat service.
Once you cross the road, you can get a small path which leads to an amazing near-view of the dam gate which is mostly open all the time. But you should be careful while walking through there as the area may be slippery. Apparently there is a stair to below , unfortunately for our safety it's not open for visitors.
I would recommend you to go here while visiting Munnar.
This dam is located in between the way you go to the eco point.
Thank You.

Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary offers an exciting adventure trek, showcasing a vast range of fauna and flora. The narrow road that leads to the destination is suitable for day-time travel where tourists can enjoy the stunning view of Anamalai forest and spot exotic birds and animals. However, night drives are not recommended due to poor visibility caused by sudden fog, making it extremely risky to travel alone with family.
This was the first time we traveled this route. Luckily the weather is very favorable. Deer, peacocks and monkeys could be seen. The road was narrow but it's in very good condition so the journey was comfortable. The journey through the forest is always mind-blowing . You have to take relevant documents and pass for hustle free travelling. And please cross the border before 6 pm

Chinnar wildlife sanctuary is nice place and home for many endangered species. On way to munnar, this place has may watch towers and view wildlife. One has to be careful while driving through this place. Make sure to carry required water and food. Summer is very difficult in this place. Forest department must create some water ponds inside the forest.
The Chinnar and Pambar rivers are the major perennial water resources in the sanctuary. The Chinnar originates near Kumarikal Malai, follows the interstate boundary along the northwest edge of the sanctuary for 18 km and becomes the Amaravati River in Tamil Nadu.
The Pambar River originates in the Anaimudi Hills and is joined by seasonal rivulets and a few perennial streams originating from sholas in the upper reaches. It traverses the Turner’s Valley in Eravikulam National Park and flows down into the sanctuary through the Taliar Valley between Kanthalloor and Marayoor villages and eastwards through the sanctuary. It joins the Chinnar River at Koottar. The Thoovanam water falls lie deep within the sanctuary on the Pambar River. This cascade is a major tourist attraction. The Chinnar, Pambar, Kabani and Bhavani are the only rivers of the 44 in Kerala that flow eastwards
Excellent by all means. And this is an unexplored tourist destination. The local people contribute their interest for the development of tourism. The Forest Department has appointed them as Guides, Cooks, Drivers, helpers etc through Eco Development Committees of Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary. The tourists can stay in the hut, tree top or log house near the flowing river. Still I feel there is a lack of communication skills. Please note that it will take its own time to overcome this forms of undulating nature.
Awesome ride in forest and forest gaurds are very friendly road is one way have safe ride then reach by check post before 6pm , for cars all documents are they will check in check post please carry
the experience was very good and the trek was very adventurous we had booked for 3 hours trek which costed us Rs 300 pp and we had got to spot peacocks, spotted deers, Indian Gaur, and bison. it was one of the memorable trek with moderate level of difficulty
We travelled from Palani to Munnar via Chinnar for a weekend. The roads are good and calm and the drive was easy. There are not many places where you could stop by but Karimuttam waterfalls is a relief. We did not check out Iravikulam National Park due to our time schedule though.
Worth walking to this place. Beautiful river with picturesque locations and the guides are well trained to lead a group to some natural happiness. Even though the place looks adventurous, we may not encounter much wild animals but the signals might frighten us which is thrilling. Youth especially would love to walk those trails with much enthusiasm. All the best

Went there in December for trekking. There were 2 treks available - waterfall trek and cultural trek. Took the cultural trek (it's actually better than waterfall) but still there not much 'culture' to see. Mostly the trek is through the deep jungle and 2 archeological sites are on the way that are not much impressive. Also the trek is somewhat mediocre level and might please those who have never experienced a trek before (like us :)) But still enjoyed the 3 viewpoints where we took some photos and rest during our 2hr trek. On the way you might encounter some wildlife if luck favours, usually it would be monkeys and elephants. You are allowed to take water and food with you but be careful not to litter.
Over the place is there to give you an experience but I may not recommend to put it on your 'must do' list.

Munnar is a place to definitely visit once a lifetime atleast. Very scenic , beautiful mountains, waterfalls, mesmerizing tea plantations, breathtaking views.
C.S.I Christ Church, a historic stone church dating back to 1910, is a must-visit for travelers seeking old-world charm and tranquility. Managed by the Church Mission Society, this Protestant church in Munnar was constructed by Scottish tea estate managers and workers. Its interior boasts stained-glass windows, brass plaques, rosewood pews, and an ornate chandelier.
This beautiful church on the hilltop of Munnar, also known as Kashmir of the South, is an architectural symphony of God's own country..
The history of this church begins with an evening walk of Sir Henry Mansfield Knight and his wife Eleanor Isabel May in November 1894. Eleanor liked this place very much and expressed her wish to be buried on this hilltop after her death. Unfortunately she died on 23rd December 1894, at the age of 24, after contracting Cholera. The family wanted her body to be sent to England but Henry stood strongly to fulfil her wish and buried her on top of this Hill.
After her burial, many Britishers as well as locals were buried here. The British people had a wish that they should have a Church here for worship. Rev. E. Noel Hodges, Anglican Bishop visited Munnar in 1898.
On April 15, 1900 the cemetery was officially blessed and started a funeral register with Eleanor's name as the first on the list.
On December 9th 1900, a special prayer was offered at Eleanor's tomb on behalf Queen Victoria The foundation stone of this church was laid on 10th March 1910 by Sir A. K. Muir Bart, Director in Chief of Finlay Muir and Co. Establishment, in the presence of Missionaries from Colombo. On that occation prayers of the Church of Scotland was performed here.
The church is constructed using rough-hewn granites from this place itself, in Gothic style architecture. There are few glimpses of Raman architecture in stained glass windows, sloped roofs, chandeliers etc.
The Scottish type church is designed like a Cross. The Bell, Clock, Piano, Altar utensils, Furniture and Stained Glasses were brought from Scotland. Also they planted several varieties of plants brought from
Europe in the Church premises. The construction of the church was completed in March 1911 and was opened for divine worship on
the Faster day of 16th April 1911 by Rev. W.F.B Hoysted the then priest of this church. Lord Wehington, the British Governor of Madras visited the church in 1922 and offered a grant
of Rupees Twenty-five.
The Church provided refuge for many during the heavy floods of 1924 in Munnar
When the British left, they handed over this church to the Church Of South India, North Kerala Diocese.
in 2015, the church came under the geographical area of The CSI Cochin Diocese
Virst in 1920 and then in March 1966, finally in March 2021 the roof at the church was replaced.
In 2020-21 the church was completely renovated without altering its architectural structure and legacy and was rededicated on 1st May 2021 by The Rt. Rev. B N Fenn, Bishop in CS Cochin Dincese.
The speciality of the church is that the outside as well as the inside walls are not plastered with cement mortar. This is the first church having an official graveyard before the construction of the church.

This church is located close to the Munnar town. The Church was built in AD 1910 by the British. There is no fee to enter the church, and anyone can visit this place. The church is a historical place that tells the following story, and you can see the information carved in stone outside the church.
History of the C.S.I Christ Church, Munnar:
It is believed that Eleanor Isabel and Henry Mansfield Knight who served in the tea plantations lived in Munnar, The couple loved this magical and beautiful Munnar that she playfully asked her husband to bury her body in Munnar on this hill top after her death. Sadly she fell ill and soon died at the age of 24. Her husband Henry Mansfield Knight buried her body to fulfil her wish. Thus came the first grave of this cemetery. The grave of Eleanor Isabel is also known as the Taj Mahal of Munnar.
Later by 1911, this CSI church was erected in the vicinity of the grave. The CSI Christ Church became the first church to be built after the cemetery. It is believed that this church being on the top of the hill served as a refugee camp for the millions of people of Munnar, When Munnar was hit with the worst ever floods in 1924. In 1981 when the Britishers left Munnar they handed over the Christ Church to CSI North Kerala diocese.
Amidst the cold and pleasant weather of this beautiful Munnar, this church stands next to a tomb which is a symbol of an everlasting love.
The Tea Museum is a small but informative museum that showcases the history and production of tea through old machinery, photographs, and demonstrations. Visitors should not miss the 30-minute documentary about the region's tea plantations, which is shown in a room with a projector. The factory visit is also important to learn about how CTC tea is made, with staff on hand to explain everything.
How this does not have more higher rating I don't no. This place is educational, shows you the history, there is a video showing theatre style, then a tour around the factory you can taste touch and smell the tea in different stages of production. Afterwards you can taste all the teas they sell before buying

It was a good place but maybe only for tea lovers.
They showed a movie about how tea plantation started in kerala and how the industry got a boost then they showed some old machines which were used to crush tea leaves and explained how it works.
After that they send you to the shop where all their products are available with brand name " Ripple Tea "
They have black tea, green tea, white tea and ice tea.

Museum houses a gallery of antiques / paintings dating a century back and traversing through the Tea evolution all through the years. They had a short film screened on the history of the facility and tea making in Munnar in general. There is a tea making tour showcasing the steps involved. Tea can be purchased and there are a variety of the same, didn't like the flavours though ! The journey to the Tea Museum and the estate surrounding makes it a pleasant sight to behold. Ample parking facility available and minimal entry charges .

For those who don't know anything about the tea plant or tea making process, this place would be a great place of knowledge. They portrayed many items which have some historic value. They will show the function of machinery i.e., the process of making tea and playing a documentary which is based on the lifestyle of tea planters.
All is ok, but the entry fee is too high. At this price, the museum should be more organised and the guided tour should be more catching and exciting. Guides are mainly trying to convince you to buy tea packets from an outlet which is inside the museum. Even at the documentary show, if you are going late, then you might not get any chair to sit on. The items also need maintenance.

A simple tea museum in Munnar showing the history to tea cultivation in the location. Many artifacts of tea cultivation is preserved and well maintained. A documentary on the history of tea cultivation in Munnar is shown. Later , avery short tour on the manufacturing of tea piwder using CTC method is demonstrated. No tea tasting is present , however one can buy few cups of tea from the counter , and also tea packets from the shop present inside.
Entry ticket is ₹125 per adult.

Great place! They explain in detail about the whole tea making process. It's really fun to see the machines. We also bought a few teas from them and they taste amazing.
It was nice to see how something we use in our daily routines is made. Developed a new appreciation for tea.
They also show you how each machine works, and what is the end product obtained after each processing step.
The parking is free. There is sufficient space.
The entry fee is Rs.125 per person. They charge Rs.120 separately for tea tasting

Don't miss the documentary to understand the history of tea plantations in this region. Around 30 mins movie. The movie is shown in a room with projector. Around 40 people can be seated. This may require some waiting for the next show to begin.
Museum is very small... Just 3 rooms.
The factory visit is very important to know how the CTC tea is made. Staff will explain everything.
There is a shop to buy gifts, magnets, different varieties of tea, spices, fruit reserve etc etc. Small cafe also provides tea.
The was a tea tasting option for additional 120₹ but unfortunately it was unavailable on the day I went.
Enough parking space is available.

Museum is divided into old exhibition and the production part. The exhibition should be renovated because the objects thus interesting could be much better presented. Part of the exhibition is a cinema hall which I’ve missed cause of lack of time. The production part is a real highlight here - staff is presenting how do they process picked tea leaves. Astonishing views all around the place.

Good place to see old equipments used by Britishes for making Tea from leafs.

Just a waste of money. All they show is a movie about how Britishers started tea plantations blah blah and they charge you 125 per person. Not at all worth going inside, but I must say the view outside the tea museum is amazing which is obviously free of cost. So instead of wasting money inside use your valuable money and time outside enjoying the view

Good place to go with your kids and family. In this museum you can know about some historical events and history behind this tea factory.
The ticket is 120 per person and you need to pay an extra 20 for the camera.
Their live explanation of how the tea leaf has been processed was quite good.
You can buy any flavours of tea here. Masala tea and ice tea black are recommended.

The entry ticket is 125 rupees per adult. Inside you can see some history photos and tea powder preparation from leaves stage to powder stage. They will show you a documentary which tells about the history of tea which can be skipped. There is a tea counter which had many varieties of tea, the taste is average. The outlet sells different tea powders, chocolates, spices etc. This place can be skipped if you don't want to purchase tea powder. Time and money can be saved by skipping this museum. Outside the museum there is a tea plantation available.

I found the museum’s exhibits to be somewhat lacking in terms of interactivity and engagement. While the information provided was educational, the presentation could have been more captivating. I would have appreciated more interactive displays or multimedia elements to enhance the overall experience.
Another aspect that could be improved upon is the organization of the museum. The flow of the exhibits felt a bit disjointed, and it was sometimes challenging to follow the chronological order of the tea-making process. A clearer layout or guided tour could have helped visitors better navigate and understand the exhibits.

Tea museum is a nice spot to understand the history of Munnar & evolution of tea plantations & all. A short movie is showing regarding this. Museum have lot of antique collections. We can see the processing of tea unit & well explained by the staffs. We can shop different varieties of tea from here. Car parking available. Washrooms available. Enter with tickets.

For those who do not know how tea is prepared, it is the perfect place. You are first directed to a video show which gives details of history of TATAs. No details of tea manufacturing were shown. Only the corporate presentation about the company was boring. You can skip it comfortably. It is better to go directly to the live demonstration of running machinery of tea manufacturing. It was too crowded when we visited. The upstairs lecture is also good. Then you are directed to the tea shop and tea testing area.

It has a tea museum to give us the knowledge of tea factory initiative

The museum is pretty basic and we were rushed through each step. In my opinion 125/head entry fee is little bit high. They show a 30min documentary which was okay and the tea making process which was interesting. Since there isn’t much to do in Munnar, you could spend some time here. They also have a wide range of teas that you can shop from at a decent price.
anoop vijayan — Google review
The museum is small, but OK. There is also a 30 minute video that's not bad. Then there's the tour of the factory, where tea processing is explained. That's nice. It ends with a big tea shop. If you've always wondered about tea processing and types, this is your chance.

Lovely place to learn about tea harvesting and converting to the beverage we all
Like . When you see the process one won’t drink tea bag tea anymore as that is the lowest quality of tea . Amazing views around the museum and tea factory. Bought some whole leaf tea and blended tea with spices like cardamom

Tea lovers and the tea making curiosity folks would love this place. Visit takes about 45mins (including 30mins history show). Plenty of parking and toilets located outside of the museum. Souvenirs, spices, various tea flavors available for sale at the end of the tour.

The team museum is a good place to spend not more than 30-45 mins. There is ample parking space and there are chargeable entry and parking tickets.
They have a show on how tea is made for about an hour and then a factory visit to show how tea is made from tea plants in real life.
Apart from that, there is nothing really there to explore in the museum.
P.S. You can buy tea packets from the museum after the factory visit.

The guide there explains in 3 different languages (English, Hindi and Malayalam). One can shop for tea powders, chocolates, safron, spices etc. Entry ticket is Rs.125 per person which I think is high. For tea taste learning, they charge Rs.120 separately. There's free parking available at this tea museum.

The documentary related to Tea is also shown at this museum.
Overall a good place to visit.
The attraction known as Attukad Waterfalls is a picturesque wonder that features numerous waterfalls amidst undulating hills, hemmed in by hiking trails and providing panoramic views. The route to the falls is moderately challenging, encompassing a narrow and steep 3-kilometer downhill road leading from the main highway.
It's a beautiful place. Tour operators generally does not include this in their packages . Bcz it's on other side and its kind of off road ( basically the road condition is bad ). Better to take an auto or jeep to visit this place.

The road is not very good. I drive my two wheeler to reach their.
Although heavy vehicle like school bus was also crossing the points.

There is a also a small home just next to the waterfall who makes tea coffee omlette and Maggie. There is a small view point behind the home from where u can view the waterfall gushing.
There is a bridge on which people can stand and take pictures but have to be careful as cars keep coming on the bridge and it is very narrow.
Overall very good experience.

A great waterfall, one that you can witness from the road. We were off to somewhere else when we got a glimpse of this majestic waterfall and took a U-turn. The road to the falls is narrow but driveable and you catch regular glimpses of the falls in between.
However, there is no viewpoint for the falls that you see from the road. Once you reach the bottom, you will get to a narrow bridge from where you can take pictures. There is also a small tea stall nearby which offers a view of the other part of the waterfall and is great if you visit during the rainy season.
I wish the waterfall had a viewpoint for the other part of the waterfall, the one that you see from the road.

Loved this falls view from the bridge. As it was monsoon season good flow of water and we could feel water spraying on us. More important the way to this falls was too bad and narrow but we enjoyed in bike as a offroad one. It will be difficult to travel in car to this place and there is no parking available. A max of 2 car can be parked near the bridge.

If you are visiting this place in winter and fall you will have a great experience.
During rainy season this route might not that safe.
Cafe near the falls have pretty good view and through their backyard you can reach the near to the fall.
Take seat and have a coffee and enjoy the view.
Muniyara - Anakottapara Park is a must-visit destination while on the way to Kanthalloor. This attraction features several dolmens and an incredible viewpoint, with various entry points available. One of a kind experiences to witness dolmens(Muniyara).. They have kept the dolmens as such naturally in the hill top.. That is a good thing.. However this area needs more revamping to become an attractive tourist space.. More sheltered sitting area could be arranged as it is very hot in the day time to walk in the hill top.sign boards to dolmens may be made more attention seeking.. Toilet facilities can be arranged as this area can be used as a halting point to kanthalloor route.. A small shop is there in front which offers ice creams and indigenous products..Route to the park is quite tricky and narrow.. Map was misguiding sometimes.. Had to seek local help..

It's for archeology enthusiasts. Even mild interest in what our ancestors would have been up to, will move you, when you visit this place.
Anakkottappara is a place 4 kme away from Marayoor on Marayoor - Kanthalloor road.
Accessible by autorikshaws from Marayoor town. Would cost around Rs 150. After getting down from the auto, you have to climb a small hillock for about 400 metres.
On a dry, rocky and almost flat hillock lie a cluster of around 12 dolmens (Muniyara - literally meaning dwellings of sages)
These dolmens are dated back to the Paleolithic ages. You would really wonder who would have cut-up such huge rocks and arranged them neatly to be saved from mild rains and the sun. Also why?
The complete (360 degrees) view of Marayoor sandal wood forests, sugar cane fields and Chinnar wild life sanctuary far away from on top of these rocks is magnificent.
Take care to wear good shoes (preferably sports shoes) to assist in climbing. Wear a hat compulsorily as the scorching sun would tire you in minutes. Sun screens & glasses are an option.
Added visit - A small worship place for lord Murugan atop the hill.
Must go overall!!!

Muniyara is part of Marayoor which is 40 km from Munnar, in Idukki district, central Kerala.A fascinating destination for anthropologists and archaeologists from all over the world, Muniyara has remnants of Dolmenoid cists belonging to the Megalithic age. Dolmenoids were burial chambers made of four stones placed on edges and covered by a fifth one called the cap stone. Some of these Dolmenoids contain several burial chambers, others have a quadrangle scooped out in laterite and lined on the sides with granite slabs. These are also covered with cap stones. Anakkottappara is one of the main place to view the muniyara and its a Calm and Quiet place for relaxing solo, couple and families. It is situated on the way to Kanthalloor. Entry fee is ₹10 per person. It's such an amazing viewpoint. At one corner of the viewpoint there is a temple of lord Ram. The place is actually quite a large place. Muniyara was quite an amazing place. It's such an amazing viewpoint. At one corner of the viewpoint there is a temple of lord Ram. When we entered the muniyara anakottapara park we hard to take tickets. The place is actually quite a large place. At first, when we walk inside on the left side, there's a forest kind of setup inside when we travel further in . There is a muniyara which is deep inside the ground hidden perfectly to go into sage mode. These sages were as old as the time of Mahabharata. When we come further outside and the forest like setup is over, we reach the point where after some time we find the viewpoint which is a rocky surface kind of place and at one corner there is a Ram temple. Then while leaving the place we had some pista shake. Which was quite nice... Finally I would like everyone to visit this old ancient artifact and viewpoint.

This breath-taking place near kanthalloor was the highlight of our trip. It's within 4-5 km from marayur town. You'll have to park your car at the beginning of the ascend because it's off-road route and then walk upto the rock. The view point is at the end of the hike and it's just nearly 500m hike which can be done by anyone. Or else jeeps are available from marayur town with experienced drivers who can give you a good off-road experience. En route your hike you can see many structures made with rock which clocks back to history and they're protected with mesh. As you walk past, you'll get benches like in the parks. End point of the hike offers spectacular views with wind. The marayur town beneath will give you stunning vibes if it's evening. We were supposed to descend quickly but the wholesome atmosphere and the wind kept us there for around an hour.

We have visited the park recently and saw Muniyara also
Although, the park has great ambiance and having scenic beauty of surroundings, still needs LT’s of improvements including basics such as toilets, information centres etc
We bought few items from the shop including pure sandalwood oil from Mysore sandalwood company) worth Rs 2500/-
My wife applied the oil on her face and after she washed her face she couldn’t see anything and about 90% of her eyesight has affected. We taken her to hospital and doctor has given eye drops including antibiotics and has been recovering from that unprecedented, unfortunate incident
In fact , the label says it’s pure sandalwood oils , I am not sure about its purity and I am sure there might have some chemicals used in its process and the doctor who treated her also share the same opinions
I would appreciate if someone could inform the shop and remove all the aforementioned products from the shop immediately to ensure the safety and to protect from illness

Thoovanam Falls is a waterfall located near Munnar, Idukki district, Kerala, India. It is located in within the Pambar river of Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary at a distance of eight kilometers from the Marayur-Udumalai state highway. The waterfall falls from a height of 84 feet.
A waterfall that reveals itself to only those willing to undertake a 4 km long trek through a verdant jungle - that is Thoovanam waterfalls in Idukki district. Nestled inside Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary, it cascades from a height of 84 feet and fascinates Nature lovers and trekkers alike.
The trekking to the waterfalls, which is around 8 km from Marayoor near Alampetty on Marayoor-Udumalpet state highway, is arranged by the forest department. The guided trek from Alampetty checkpost offers a perfect opportunity to witness rare wildlife amid the lush green forests of Chinnar. If you are lucky enough, you can spot elephants, langurs, giant grizzled squirrels (Chinnar is famous for them) and numerous types of butterflies and birds. This part of the sanctuary is a rain-shadow region with a climate that is different from that what is experienced in the other parts of the state.
As you reach near the end of the trekking trail, you will hear the rumblings of the waterfalls. The sight of the waterfalls from a distance itself takes away the fatigue from the long trek. Originating from the Pambar River, the waterfalls amid captivating surroundings offer one of the most beautiful sights of Nature. The view is so stunning that many travellers prefer to slouch there for hours, enjoying the natural beauty and soaking in the serenity of the place.
If you are planning to spend one or two days in the sanctuary, there are accommodation options at tree houses, jungle cottages and dormitories. In association with eco-development committees formed by tribal communities, the forest department offers various other treks at Chinnar.

Trekking was adventurous with drizzling weather so we were delighted by the glorious panaromic view of waterfalls and calm pristine mountain river
We went on Sunday and Hardly 40-50 people were there
Overall had a lifetime rejuvenating trekking

A wilderness destination, mistic waterfalls in the deep ATR & Chinnar wild life region. We get to see a spectacular view from the terrain road while on the move. Kerala Forest dept has started trecking facility to the falls with an entry fees of Rs.300 per person accompanied by a forest guard. It an 1hr treck mostly through the plain region and minimal hikes. View after crossing few streams and from the bottom of the falls is pretty excellent. Best time to visit will be post monsoon from Sep till Feb. Mar - May will be summer season making the region bit dry.

A decent waterfall that you can visit during monsoon or just after monsoon. You will reach there after a short hike of half an hour to 45 mins. Depending on the water levels they might allow you to take a dip. Be prepared anyway. Beat the heat and enjoy at the waterfalls.
The Blossom Hydel Park in Munnar is a vast and scenic park that boasts of nature trails, bird-watching opportunities, and lookout points. This expansive park covers 16 acres of land with lush green plants and colourful blossoms. It is an ideal destination for various activities like boating, roller-skating, adventure trails, and nature walks. The park charges a nominal fee of Rs 10 per adult and Rs 2 per child for entry.
One of the beautiful places in Munnar where you can roam around enjoying the beauty and cleanliness of a wonderful garden. Entry fee is just 50/person and easily accessible from town. A big park with lot of spots to spend time and enjoy some rides too.. crowded in weekends and evenings usually.

Situated on the way to Munnar, Blossom Hydel Park is a good place to spend some time. Its open from 9am to 7pm and the entry fee is Rs 10. There is a garden with variety of flowers, play area and also some activities like zipline. There is also a cool bar, shopping center, aquarium with fish spa, etc. Kids will definitely love it. I would suggest to visit in the morning or evening time to enjoy the park..

Upon my afternoon visit on March 11,2024, the park lacked charm without proper lighting. However, the diverse fun activities, such as the thrilling zip line and children's play area, injected excitement. The 80 RS entry fee and 40 RS parking fee for 4-wheelers felt justified for the offered amenities. Evening visits are advised for a more pleasant ambiance with illuminations. The presence of product outlets provides added convenience, contributing positively to the overall park experience.

Blossom Hydel Park is an ideal place to relax on a sunny afternoon especially if you have children with you. The park has many species of flowering plants and trees. During spring, the park is vibrant with colorful flowers. There are several facilities like walking trails, boating, children's play area, adventure rope gliding etc available.

A spacious park inside the town. Has huge parking space, a nominal entry fee, a zip line. Ideal for kids and tiny tots (though one cannot let them run around unattended as there are a few water bodies). There are lawns, swings, a fish spa, and a few stores. There's a separate ticket for the aquarium. There's something for everyone. If one's staying in Munnar town, spend the evening here. It's open till 7.30pm.
What's wanting is the boating which looks like a nonstarter.

A nice place, maintained well and upgraded now... which could have been utilized much earlier. Entry cost is high. Parking rs40, kids upto rs12 entry rs50 and adult 80. Hope this park won't have the regular fate like others in future, going to ruins within years of spending very huge amounts.

This is a nice place for toddlers wanting to play free. Beautiful flowers were there all over. Statues of a shell and animals are found. Nice places to take photos.
Nice ambience is present. Good place to relax. When i went the games corner you see normally was in construction. It is said it takes about 1year to finish. Ziplining, boating, vr games, 7d theater, quad biking and aquarium are those which were present. It also contains a cafe inside it. Best place for children.

You can view it from a distance and drive right into it to get ample parking whether you are walking, driving a car or be in a big bus. They are probably making the entrance more conducive to the plenty of tourists that throng this area just about 2 km from the city center. The garden is located particularly along the roadside but along a picturesque site looking over a water body and the hills on one end and a beautifully landscaped garden with a winding river passing on the other end. There are beautiful plants, trees and flowers that are rare to find anywhere. Well kept gardens, plenty of landscaping with seats to savor them. There is also an aquarium that we did not visit. Plenty of places for children to enjoy but not averse for the grown ups or the couples. Centrally placed is a refreshment shop with tea, coffee, milk shakes and ice creams etc. A perfect place to enjoy the scenery, stretch your legs or have a recluse, hence, a place for anyone with any mood would enjoy.
