Kundadri is a dense forested peak with an elevation of 826 meters that boasts a 17th-century Jain temple devoted to Parshwanatha. The drive to the top can be strenuous due to its sharp and steep curves, but it is worth it once you reach the summit as the view is stunning and awe-inspiring. Recently, the temple has been repainted, however, some people feel that the new colors have taken away from its former beauty.
A very tedious drive to the top with sharp and steep curves. But when u reach the top of the hill the view is tremendous and breathtaking.

Kundadri Hill ( Betta ) , Best place to see Sunrise, Sunset and beauty of nature, Hill and clouds. This hill is known for 17th century Jain temple dedicated to Parshwanath tirthankara and the place is known to have given shelter to Acharya Kundakunda during earlier centuries.
Super place , best time to visit early morning.
I think gate opens at 6.00 AM morning.
Parking space available.
Steep and narrow roads and U-Turns, so drive carefully.

It's a Jain temple with breathtaking view at the hilltop of the western ghats during the monsoon season. The road though is in very poor condition. People with good driving experience can take this route. The gate to this place closes down at 5pm so make sure you reach there on time.

• It's better to go in month of December starting of january in winters as you can experience that real winter with clouds!!
•Place is some what unexplored by people and Really Karnataka govt should improve this spots!!
•Sure that visibility will be low in roads while going in winters make sure you have precautions prior.

If you're from Manipal or Udupi or kinda some costal area person then after you climb up the agumbe hills you'll find a lot of difference in the temperature like a bit 5-6°C colder than the costal area and a great pleasant temperature with great rainforest all around the road and you'll definately enjoy the road trip with bike or scooty or like car with windows open.....
This eco-tourism resort features captive elephants on display for visitors to see, with the option to pay extra for elephant rides and bathing. The staff is excellent and the food is fantastic, making it a must-visit destination. The resort's upkeep is well-maintained, providing an enjoyable atmosphere for guests to relax and unwind. Overall, this resort offers a great opportunity for tourists interested in experiencing nature up close while also enjoying top-notch hospitality.
The jungle lodges of Karnataka are a super hit no matter which one your choose.
This one in particular is the best combination with the sakrebyle elephant camp (just across the street from the lodge). The jungle lodge is clean, be it the cottage or the tent, food is local and yummy and the staff do their best to give you the care and information you need despite the language barriers. Nested in a healthy jungle, this one gave us the perfect experience of both nature and comfort.
We enjoyed Dinesh, suresh and others who took us on walks and explained so much about elephants we never knew about.
For the morning bathing of the elephants, this lodge becomes the easiest place to be for the night before!
Both the sakrebyle elephant camp and the jungle lodge should be experienced together

Very beautiful experience !! Very clean and tidy place.. Fantastic food.... Very heart warming hospitality... Manager Kiran and the entire staff very kind and helpful.... The support staff are very good and understanding...
The nature walk into the forest was amazing!! Dint sight animals though
Spotted foot prints of leopard that had passed by a few hours ago...
Very safe to visit with children and aged people too.....
Guests who are vaccinated are only allowed... The staff are all vaccinated too... We are not allowed to touch the elephants due to the current situation.... can only view from a distance... Definitely a must visit place for nature / elephant lovers!!
Sincere request.... Please visit with a mind to enjoy the nature as is! There was a guest who destroyed the early morning serenity and the sounds in the forest by saying loud prayers for more than an hour.....Let's be sensitive to nature and also other humans around us!

They have from young to old elephants in this camp. some come eat/play and then go back to the forest, others are kept behind if they need medical assistance or other help.
it is an wonderful sight to see them play, take bath, eat their food etc.

Jog Falls, the second highest waterfall in India, has varying water flow from a trickle to a torrent during monsoon season. However, 70% of the area is currently under renovation with construction going on in most parts. Despite this, visitors can park close to the entrance as main parking areas are dusty due to ongoing work. There is minimal sound pollution allowing for peaceful visits. Renovations are expected to be completed within three years with significant changes made.
Loved it,☺️..we came here on monsoon season..

Cons : U must face rain ⛰️

Jog falls is an awesome place to visit as a tour. When we went some construction was going on so it had been a main issue there. And before going please check once whether water has been let off the dam or not because we heard people saying that we were lucky enough to see water flow because today dams are opened but normally dams are not opened and there will be much less water flow.

The highlight of my visit was the breathtaking panoramic view of Jog Falls, set against a backdrop of lush greenery. The landscape was a picturesque canvas that enhanced the overall allure of the falls. Opting for a morning visit during sunrise proved to be a brilliant decision.
The tranquility of the early morning added an extra layer to the experience, making my visit both peaceful and revitalizing. With its scenic charm, Jog Falls stands as a must-visit destination for nature enthusiasts and photography enthusiasts alike.

Beautiful place if you know what the best time to visit it is. Avoid visiting the falls from September to May as the intensity of the flow diminishes. There are snacks nearby if you are hungry. Also note that there are two places from where you can see the falls, and both of them are in different routes.

Great fall, but not so gorgeous in the dry season. You have to see it in the rainy season. Lots of contraction going on , the viewing place will be great in about 2 years. Brand new observation decks. But to see it you have to also go across to the ministries guest houses. The place is open a short walk to see the falls close up and from a different angle. You also drive over the river that ends on the falls. From this side you will also see the top of the falls. Any way , worth the windy road ride from the ocean side. If you coming from the interior , windy road still. While at the observation deck. Trak a little further, you will see the Dam project a little down stream from the falls.

The top view of Jog Falls was breathtaking. It is around one and half hours drive from Murudeshwar through winding roads through Western Ghats.

Shimoga Zoo & Safari is a wildlife sanctuary that offers visitors the chance to see lions, tigers, and other large felines, as well as rare birds and primates. The park has undergone significant renovations and added several new animal species. One of the main attractions is the black panther in the zoo section. Although there are fewer tigers and lions than before, they appear to be healthier.
We had a wonderful experience in Safari,
We were able to find Lion male and female, tiger male and female, 3 types of deer and byson. We went to Safari by bus, it was about 30 mins. We were so lucky to see a lion so near.
Well maintained safari place with proper safety.
They charged 200 ₹for adults and 80 ₹for children.
Though we went only for safari, Zoo entry fees are a must.

When it comes to Safari experience, it was my one of the best experience so far... I never did see that close the tigers and lions roaming freely around the safari... It was not definitely like a zoo experience... Again kudos to the team maintaining it in a such a neat manner.

Shivamogga Zoo and Safari is an incredible wildlife experience. The highlight is the opportunity to see lions and tigers up close, sometimes just two hands away, if luck is on your side. The unique aspect here is the caged safari for visitors while these majestic creatures roam freely in their designated areas.
For an enhanced experience, I recommend opting for the car safari over the bus. It provides a more intimate connection with the wildlife. Safari had only Lion, Tiger and Different kids of Deer. However we saw good amount Tiger and Lion. Safari was max 20 minutes.Bus quality is good . You have Jeep Safari too (2000₹), but it's not worth given the Safari is so less animal. Can go ones. As we had to pay the Zoo before entering, we did had a glance of the Zoo. Nice and clean environment around a zoo area but least Amount of animals are there and there are many of them not to be seen then in the place don't know why?
But it is always a better place to have fun with family and friends, there is a parking spot to park your any type of vehicle and as a best drinking water facility and a good and cleaned rest room available.
But the entry ticket for an adult is 80 rupees and for children (4<14) are 40 rupees it's a fair price for all day enjoyment. Yes! Extra money for camera.
To go on safari we need to pay 200 rupees per person a little higher but fair.

Tourist please note that its not a Tourist spot right now. Gate has been locked from main road itself. If Google takes you then it will end up in private lodge place only which was prior online booking
Dabbe Falls is a beautiful waterfall located in the midst of lush green forests and surrounded by a picturesque, private vegetable farm. However, visitors need to obtain permission from the Kargal Forest Department office before visiting as illegal entry is strictly prohibited. During monsoon season, getting down to the falls can be challenging and requires walking for 10 minutes through paddy fields followed by descent at a steep angle using ropes.
Great place!! Love the waterfalls and the trek was fine. Just 30 min down and 30min up. A little bit intense if you are not used too, but totally recommend.
You need to ask for permission in advance at the forest office in korgel, is 400 rupies a person.
You can reach this google maps point by car (recommended) and then trek down to the falls.

Place is good. Difficult trek.
But need some time of you want to enjoy.
Need permission from forest department.

Not an easy treek...
But a perfect example for "A great view comes after different path"
Don't #FORGET# to get a *ROPE* from the last house before starting bcz at one point you can't get down without the help of rope its of 20-30mtr slop where u need a rope to get down

Challenging trek, worth the difficulty. Falls is great view

An amazing place with a trek to be accomplished before reaching out to the falls. The trek is quite challenging for first timers since it is slippery and with deep descent. We needed rope to descend but fit, athletic and experienced ppl can also do without rope. You'll have to take permission from the forest department before getting to the falls and there's an entry fee of 250 i believe. There's a house at the starting point of the trek and they'll help you with the rope and any basic needs. In monsoon water level would be quite high and would be dangerous to get into the water.
Overall it's a marvelous and thrilling place to visit.

Dabbe and monsoon deadly combination ❤️
Need permission to visit this waterfalls.
Permission can be taken from kargal forest department office.
Illegal entry is restricted 🚫⛔
From the the house ( means from the parking u need to walk for 10 minutes in the paddy field and u need to get down 90° degree into the valley one hell of an experience during monsoon)
During monsoon it's quite different and hard to get down need rope and all.
Visit madi enjoy madi 😃
Don't throw any plastic papers or snacks covers near the waterfalls.
Be a responsible traveller/ tourist whatever you bring just carry them back aste 🤟

One of the best place for adventurers. Has to walk 2-3 km in forest to get there. Near the falls there is a single home where you should enter ur name and get rope for further progress downhill from that home. Only those who are physically fit should try this as at some places downhill one has to manage steep cliffs. And at the end the view worth all the effort u put in there.
Basavaraj Nargal — Google review
It was really a wonderful experience. It is always hazardous when you are trekking through steepy cliffs with the help of the tree roots. Seriously this place is preferable only for youngsters. Better if you can take prior permission from forest department either at Kargal or at Kogar. Don't forget to take sufficient food and water. Beware of leeches specially during monsoon.

It's place in a very nice place.. you will feel as if you are lost in jungle, but after a very challenging trek, you find a splendid view worth remember lifetime.. be aware of Leach..

One of the most difficult trekking... But once you reach falls, you feel like you are in heaven... You can enjoy a lot in water fall
But u should follow forest rules:
U should take permission from forest department, it will be like 250rs per head
Should not throw any plastic items
Should not make any audio or video records
U should come back before 6pm
Remember: google maps will show some other place as dabbe falls... So be careful before starting your journey
It will be better, if u search village name of dabbe falls by checking it on google
If you are one among who loves trekking and water falls... Then it is meant for you
The pic i posted is the view in between trekking
Kodachadri is a mountain peak in Karnataka, standing at 4,406 feet. The area boasts dense forests and trekking trails, as well as breathtaking views from elevated positions. Visitors can also enjoy the waterfalls, although the amount of water may vary depending on the season. It's important to be cautious during rainy periods when rocks may become slippery. Strict rules are in place to prevent littering by tourists, and Jeep service is available for transportation.
wonderful place. Amazing experience. beauty of nature <3
you will get jeep service till mid point. by sharing around 500-600 rs per person. from mid point need to trek till top. 1.5KM . worth of trekking.
RAMADAS NR — Google review
Things to keep in mind:
1. Jeeps will only be available between Kollur and Kudachathri
2. For up and down, each person must pay 470 rupees (400 for the jeep and 70 for the forest tax) if you are going by sharing or 3200 rupees for a jeep , inspite of number of people
3. There is a forest checkpoint where each person must deposit 70 rupees.
4. You must pay a caution deposit of 100 rupees at the checkpoint for any plastic bottles you bring with you; if you show the bottles back on the way back, you will be reimbursed.
5. The last ten kilometres in the jeep are off-road.
6. Normal people can cover the uphill in around 1.5 hours by trekking around 2 km.
7. Going downhill It will just take 30 to 45 minutes.
8. There will be no place to eat or drink at the top, so bring your own.
5. There was once a small cave called Chithramoola, but it is now closed.
9. There is a Shankaracharya temple at the top where you can relax.
10. There are no washrooms along the way, which makes it difficult for women, and the one washroom available at the jeep parking area is in poor condition.
It is a pleasant trek for beginners, and people of all ages can enjoy the scenic vistas. We had done trekking on 16/05/22

Must visit this place to enjoy the scenic beauty. Serene atmosphere. Though it has a religious connect, most of the people nowadays have made this a tourist place. Going forward, it is a question, how this place will turn into. More of human beings have started visiting!

It's a great place to do trekking. In between trekking can experience waterfalls and can get into it. However the amount of water depends on the season. When it's rainy season needs to be careful rocks would be slippery. It's a good option to explore. They have maintained well with strict rules to avoid dumping plastics by tourists. They do have Jeep service.

Definitely not a place to visit in summer. We did that blunder and it was tooo hot. I have visited here before but it was not too hot at that time. It was too difficult to climb because we were sweating like anything and also was getting too dehydrated. But i guess its a good view and trek if it's in winter or any other time than summer. It's a short trek but the path is a bit difficult. There is a small temple at the top of the hill. To reach the foothills you have to come in jeep through a very good road and then once you enter the forest dept area, you have to travel off-road in jeep. It's too dusty, the off-road portion so make sure you take some shawls, masks etc to cover yourself. Once you reach a point there is a small temple and from there you have to do a foot trek. Any person who can walk and climb without issues for 4-5km straight can do this trek, wouldn't recommend it otherwise. Would recommend to wear something with grip as at times its slippery because of small rocks.
One thing i really appreciate is that they count the number of plastic bottles we are taking inside and we have to pay for them. And while returning if we show them back the bottles we get paid back. Which completely avoids littering as people won't throw away their bottles in order to get a refund.

Beautiful and calm must go place with family and friends. Even if it is a bit difficult to reach there, the scene is unforgettable and thrilling. Either go early in the morning or late in the afternoon and it will be better

One of the best spots in karnataka to do trekking. Trekking through the forest and hills, will reach the top of kudajadri mountain. You can get a jeep from nittur or kollur if you need a jeep trekking. After reaching top, you will still need a 2 km trekking to reach the sarva vinjana peedam.

You will get a wonderful trucking experience here, but don't visit here in the summer because the extreme heat may spoil your mood. In the summer, the chance for sunburn during trucking is high, so use sunscreen if you are planning to travel during the summer. The views of the sun rising and setting from here are fabulous.

Beautiful place, Trekking is little difficult you can take jeep rides to reach kodachadri peak!!

I recently had the most incredible trekking experience at Kodachadri! It was truly a journey into nature's paradise.
The lush greenery and the views from the peak were absolutely breathtaking - a panorama of the Western Ghats and the Arabian Sea that left me speechless.
The trek itself was moderately challenging, with some steep sections, but the sense of accomplishment at the summit was worth every step.
I visited during the summer season, and the weather was hot, but a bath in the waterfall in the way takes the trekking into next level. Hiring a local guide was a smart decision, as they shared interesting insights about the area's history and ecology.
Overall, Kodachadri exceeded my expectations, and I highly recommend it to all nature enthusiasts and adventure seekers. It's a trekking destination that will stay etched in your memory forever!

Great experience. Trekking is difficult for aged people as there are no railings or steps to reach the peak of the mountain. Great view from the top. If the tourism department takes care of it, it would be the great place to visit.

I recently visited this beautiful hill station, and I must say it was an incredible experience. The highlight of the trip was the off-road adventure that left me speechless. The rugged trails, lush green landscapes, and breathtaking views made it an unforgettable journey.
The off-road experience allowed me to connect with nature in a way I never imagined. The thrill of navigating through challenging terrains and discovering hidden gems along the way was exhilarating. It's a must-do for adventure enthusiasts!
The Kodachadri hill station itself was a serene haven, with cool, crisp air and picturesque vistas at every turn. The tranquility of the place was a welcome escape from the hustle and bustle of city life.
The accommodations were cozy and offered stunning views of the surrounding mountains. The local cuisine was a delightful treat for the taste buds, and the warm hospitality of the people added to the overall charm of the place.
I can't recommend this hill station and its off-road adventure enough. It's a perfect getaway for those seeking a mix of natural beauty, adventure, and relaxation. A truly memorable experience that I'll cherish forever!

We can reach upto a point near to kodachadri. From the point we need to take jeep rental. One can go to track from this point instead for taking jeep. But that all depends on your strength. By walk total track is almost 10x2 km.
Make sure to take enough water and some snacks. After this point, there is no shop or tap to fill water bottle. Also ensure taking some mask or something to cover your nose as it will be too dusty if going in any season other than monsoon.
Current charges for jeep is 2400 which include jeep ride cost and entry fees for the jeep to the forest. The road is worse for jeep/track.
The Jeep will drop us to almost 1.5 km before the top point. The rest 1.5 km need to be tracked. We did this 1.5 km tracking only which we did it in almost 50 min. And at time of coming back to jeep drop point it took around 40 min.
View from top is good. But. will recommend not to take elderly peoples and kids for this ride and track.
Over all it took me around 4-5 hr. From the place we left out cab.

Beautiful side of western Ghats.
I'm sure most of the people aware of this place still i would love to write something about it.
There are 2 ways to reach Kodachadri from KOLLUR , one is by Jeep , they may charge you around 400 per person, but you wouldn't get time to stay for more than 2 hours
Otherway is to reach nearby town by bus and come by walk , the forest department may not give you permission to stay there but try to book the stay there and reach the top and stay. I think it's available only during weekends.
The walk from Kudagadri to sarvajyna peetham would take you 1 hr and the view is amazing 😍

One the best trek I have gone to and the place is amazing and once in a lifetime watch , the lush green and the dense forest and the beautiful waterfalls and the rain it was the BEST place for a monsoon trek and the place was not crowded the place trail is extremely beautiful and quite different, difficult for a first time visit. The jeep ride was best though the roads are scary and slippery the jeep drivers are the best here powerful and not scary at all.

Nestled in the Western Ghats of South India, Kodachadri stands tall at 1,343 meters above sea level, serving as the highest peak in Shivamogga district. It provides a stunning backdrop to the Mookambika temple in Kollur, a mere 21 kilometers away. According to legend, Sage Adi Shankara visited and meditated here, establishing a temple at the summit known as the Sarvajnapeetha. Accessible via a rugged jeep road, Kodachadri offers a challenging yet rewarding journey, with jeeps for hire available in both Kollur and Kattinahole village.
Our family was captivated by the natural beauty and spiritual significance of Kodachadri. While the jeep safari from Kollur offers an adventurous route, it may be challenging for the elderly. Trekking to the summit, though rewarding, can also be strenuous. Nevertheless, visiting the Sarvajnapeetha at the summit is deeply meaningful, symbolising profound wisdom. For those seeking a less strenuous experience, exploring nearby areas or simply enjoying the serene ambiance can be equally fulfilling. In essence, Kodachadri offers a harmonious blend of adventure and spirituality, catering to diverse interests and age groups.
The village of Nagara is situated in the Shivamogga district of Karnataka, India and has historical significance. It is located 17 kilometres from Hosanagara or 84 kilometres from Shivamogga. During the 16th century, it was known as Bidanur or Bidnur and served as the capital city for Keladi rulers.
The Linganamakki Reservoir is an extensive body of water surrounded by lush Western Ghats forest, and its adjacent villages offer a serene view. The roads that wind around the reservoir provide a delightful adventure for all travellers. It is the largest reservoir in Karnataka and crossing its dam on a ferry is an unforgettable experience while travelling from Sigandur to Sagara. Visitors are reminded not to litter or bring food but instead enjoy the beauty of nature uninterrupted.
