Copenhagen’s Nyhavn is a beautiful harbor lined with restaurants and bars. It was originally a working-class area filled mostly with sailors and fishermen, but Baroque Architecture still pops up in many of the buildings. The harbor is one of the most popular areas in the city and its a great place to start exploring Copenhagen!
This was a beautiful place with loads of tourists as well as loads of Christmas vibes were coming from that... As there was a Christmas market as well as there was harbour to have a boat ride... With so colourful buildings.... It was a great spot to enjoy with friends and family. There were so many restaurants available over there and lots of cafes to have some snacks

PROS: historical neighborhood | well preserved | perfect for selfie lovers
CONS: bars & restaurants are clearly overpriced

Beautiful area, which is the postcard place of Copenhagen. Definitely a must visit if you are in Copenhagen. There are a lot many street food items, lots of restaurants. You can walk on the road with your dear ones and the vibe is extremely nice. You might have to go there during the evening to enjoy the vibe the most.

A must for Copenhagen! The place has an unique charm due to the colorful old houses. Some of them are about 400 years old and in several once H. C. Andersen has resided! Various restaurants are absolutely great, however, proces are above the average for the city. One should visit the place at sunset.

Cool place with lots of colourful buildings - but as with all popular places there are a lot of tourists. You can see the buildings and then just go somewhere else to eat where it’s quieter if you’re not wanting to see hoards of tourists.

A picturesque spot with brightly coloured buildings along a waterfront.
This is a beautiful spot, with the bright buildings and boats along the wharves making it feel very bucolic. However, while it is very lovely to see, many of the places along here are quite expensive, even by Copenhagen standards.

Probably one of the prettiest places I have ever travelled to. The different coloured houses are stunning to look at and the atmosphere around Nyhavn is so nice as well. It feels very relaxing when you stroll around and just take it all in. Definitely recommend!

Lovely, relaxing place just to stroll about and enjoy the ambiance. Find a nice place to eat, grab a drink, then find some dessert. Sit outside and enjoy the ocean, the weather and the people.

One of best walks in Copenhagen and a must visit.
Nice promenade by the water canal and many restaurants on the side , food was not that good and very touristic and don’t recommend eating in the area, the place is very full of people, bars. A must visit for sure ✔️

Great sightseeing place in Copenhagen, and good place to walk around the river. Lot of restaurants & bars around but are bit pricey given the location. Should visit around sunset time to get some great views.

My favourite place in Copenhagen. Make sure you come here at sunset, you will fall in love with it. They also have market at sunset time so why not come here at sunset?

Wonderful place to chill with friends and family , they have very good view and also got amazing restaurants.
It can get a lot crowded during weekends and holiday but even then its worth visiting 😁

Beautiful area and buildings. I went at the end of November as the Xmas stalls starting popping up along the water so it was pretty busy.

A beautiful part of Copenhagen and definitely a must visit. The buildings are lovingly restored and are resplendent in their gayly painted colours. There are canal rides that you can go on, and many of the buildings house a variety of restaurants, as well as the famous store selling waffles with ice cream and churrios.

Beautiful architecture along the canal. We visited at night and in the morning. The views are nicer in the day.
There a lot of cafes and restaurants, but heard that these are quite expensive. Nice to take photos along the canal but it’s near a bicycle lane so just be careful.

Colourful canal houses which include a museum to Hans Christian Andersen. Lined with busy waterside cafes, fish and chips and tourists. Starting point for canal boat trips.

It's nice to walk along the canal with these pretty colorful houses on both sides. If you walk to the end of the canal, you can take the water bus. There's also a stop in the Opera House on the opposite side.
Tivoli Gardens is a charming amusement park located in Copenhagen, Denmark that is popular with tourists from all over the world. The theme park features a wide array of attractions, including a precision-preened roses garden, globally inspired architecture, low-key spin-off of Michelin starred restaurant Kiin Kiin and a ballet theatre. There are also outdoor jazz, classical and contemporary music performances as well as illuminated by soothing fairytale lights.
This place is amazing. You can see how it inspired Walt Disney. You can walk around to enjoy the fine food and gardens without riding a ride. The food is high quality, not fast food. The shops are as nice as the ones found in town. As for the rides, the views from the tall swings are amazing. The ride on the old rollercoaster is fun and quite historic.
The park changes clothes at night :-)

Nice amusement park. Not very big but right in the city centre. Beautiful decorations for Halloween and lovely restaurants. Some restaurants are very expensive. They have menus outside so no nasty surprises.
A few good rides. Some are very scary. We went in November in the afternoon. The queues for the rides took about 20min. The weather was a bit cold. They have some shops too. Our friends found something to buy there. If you like the rides, you can easily spend all day in the park.

🎡🎢🎠It's a very nice theme park with lots of interesting rides. I was so excited and having so much fun that I didn't take many pictures.😆 But the best for me is The tallest ride in the amusement park I don't know what it's called, but it has seats like swing and it goes up and spins. Above, there is a very beautiful view overlooking the whole of Copenhagen.🇩🇰

I bought the entrance fee that did not include the rides... I was very happy just to walk around and view the gardens. I must say, that this was the most beautiful and green amusement park I have ever seen And it was a real trip to be able to walk under the roller coaster. (I had never seen that before.)
Also plenty of eating places and shopping areas.

I just paid for entry as I'm not a fan of rides. But the place was lovely lots bigger than I expected, it had a lovely atmosphere. I would recommend to visit at around 6pm in the summer have a wonder in the daylight maybe grab something to eat and then you will see it in the dark too. It was the night which made the place even more stunning

Such an amazing place. The gardens themselves are beautiful. The rides are great and they have such a variety. There are quite a few rides for young kids around 3 years old. There’s so much to do and the space is so well utilized that you don’t feel like you’re walking for miles on end. This is a must visit place in Copenhagen.

The park is super beautiful, the haunted houses were super fun to go to and just the whole vibe of the place was amazing. The Halloween decorations were also super fun. The only downside is the price of entrance and for the rides, which was quite high in my opinion. Even though the prices were high I can't wait to go again for the Christmas theme.
Leah Winkler — Google review
I think if not the best, one of the top parks in Europe. Great restaurants, coffee bars, theaters, garden, entertainment park in such a great combination. Especially if you visiting when it's ready for Christmas. So many activities and entertainment you will definitely enjoy! Must see for sure.

Stunning place. Relaxing and just a great place to visit. An oasis in the city centre.
Gardens / Theme park, choose what you prefer or both. Either way it's got a relaxed atmosphere.
If you visit Copenhagen this needs to be on your jobs list.

Had an amazing evening here! We bought the compete package (entry and unlimited rides and photos) and definitely made our money's worth in rides. Lots of options, from super kid friendly to super scary (the Demon). So many food options, but gasoline grill gets special mention for their huge fries portion. If you are there on Saturday stay for the light show and the fireworks. If you have time while in Copenhagen this will be a fun night out.

A unique place. Rides, an aquarium, gardens, restaurants and bars
Very easy going and family friendly atmosphere. Queues were short and the ride pass works so well.
It seems small but has an incredible amount in one location. Lovely to see old people falling asleep in deck chairs on a sunny afternoon while kids are having fun on rides.

As it is one of the oldest theme park, it is worth to visit. For anyone who love taking photos, I recommended to go before evening time. Then u can enjoy both day and night vibe. Not so big one.

I brought a sibling here, and they loved it. I enjoyed it myself here as well. It's a very beautiful amusement park and I loved how it was connected to the food hall which has a variety of great food options. The staff were really kind and I believe it's safe to say that this is a must visit for everyone especially families. It's also very nicely located literally being in front of Copenhagen Central Station. I will definitely come back!

Fridays suck as they have concerts and it's going to be packed....aim for a cloudy weekday...some days you will wait ages in lines, we where lucky and had 10 min wait for rides....lots of people come here to see the flowers and lights for which there is no line.
Sunny weekends are going to be packed.
Danish weather is temperamental, bring plastic ponchos and hope for the best, wind does not get bad here

If you are a tourist and you love history and art, this is the place for you to visit. The fun rides may be a little out of date, but keep in mind they were from 100 years ago. Everything was so beautiful and artistically arranged. There were plenty of restaurants and coffee shops and chocolates. The Garden was not only for the kids but also the adults of all ages. We were glad that we saved the place last during our stay at Copenhagen.

Very nice place. Finely decorated for Halloween. I expect they'll do a great job for Christmas as well. I think this place is a bit overrated, though. Don't get me wrong, it's very nice and there are few fun rides. But I would go here only if I stayed for a few days in Copenhagen. Don't sacrifice other beautiful spots in the city to go here instead. But as a last day thing to do and especially if you're there with friends, it's a fun place where to spend a few hours

Went in November knowing little about the place. Had an incredible time in the massive winter wonderland with shops and stalls ans even fairground rides! Definitely recommend going in winter.
Ride pass is around €30 on top of €18 entrance fee but you can enter without a ride pass and pay for rides individually or not at all. Worth the price though

We were there at Christmas with family. It was so beautifully decorated, there were rides for all ages, delicious food. I recommend, for Christmas, to see how many rides planning to go on before buying the unlimited band.
Jill Curry — Google review
Underwhelming. Paid 160dkk (£18) to enter. The rides were fairly interesting to look at as they’re prettier than what you get at a typical British fairground but didn’t seem particularly thrilling inducing so didn’t give any a go. Would probably be worth it if you have young children who would enjoy the smaller rides however.
Maxim Cooper — Google review
Lovely little theme park that's perfect for the kids. There is not much to walk, the rides are designed mostly for kids with only a couple that are on the extreme side and there is plenty of food and drink choices in such a small place. What was also great is that the entrance cost is cheaper if you don't want to go on the rides, making it possible to go in to experience the historic architecture of one of the oldest theme parks in the world. You're also able to come and go from the park on the day you go, just remember to get your hand stamped before leaving.

Amazing. If you’re in Copenhagen you have to go, no question. I have visited both during summer and to see the Christmas markets, both were great with the Christmas lights really taking the cake for me, I felt like I was in a movie. Rides are also great, but just seeing the lights and market stalls are also plenty to do. So many great food options inside for both food and desserts, so definitely come hungry.

Great place to visit with friends, family or your loved ones. Decorated with astonishing lights. You will only fully enjoy them when is dark. I saw fountain show accompanied by classic music. That was fantastic experience.
Rides look different from each other, very unique, but I didn't go on them. You have to pay extra to use them.

It’s amazing how many attractions can be squeezed into one city block. Great for kids, teens and those still young at heart. Food price and choices range from stalls and food market outlets to the brasserie at the Hotel Nimb.

It's a wonderful, almost magical place. You can feel like you're in a fairy tale there. We visited on December 30th, and despite the large number of people, the vastness of the park made it feel uncrowded. In the evening, it has an even more enchanting charm. It's important to mention that using the Copenhagen Card, you can enter the park twice in one day by obtaining a special stamp. However, for some attractions, tickets are not always available at the machines - you need to purchase a package. For those who prefer not to buy packages, using the app might be somewhat inconvenient. My only suggestion - improve and maintain your app.
Karolina Gołębiewska — Google review
Absolutely fantastic. I visited in December 2023 with family, including two kids in prams. Spent the whole day there, and you can leave with the kids of you need to and re-enter (make sure you get that days stamp on your hand!)
Highly recommend purchasing tickets in advance to skip the queues, and if you get the ticket that includes free digital images, download the app and set that up ahead of time! We made that mistake and missed out on images. Don't forget to take your one free go at the wheel - it's the huge one beside Aquila I think!
I rode everything I could, and had a great time. My faves are the demon and star flyer I think! I also recommend bringing scarves and gloves if you're riding the taller rides in the winter!!
I think it's superb that it's a themes seasonal attraction and I'd love to visit again in spring.

Such an amazing place. We loved it and we had a lot of fun there. The gardens are very well taken care of and the games are suitable for all ages. They present some shows and plays as well. Inside, you will have everything you may need, restaurants, toilets…etc. and of course, they have Lego shop :). It’s a bit expensive, but it’s not for Denmark and for all what they offer. Highly recommended, especially with kids.
You can go out and go back again, but you need kind of permission.

Visited around December time and it was a wonderful wonderland! There were so many stalls of food and gifts inside creating a lovely Christmas atmosphere. We didn’t even go on any rides and still managed to spend 2 hours here just exploring the beautiful grounds! Definitely a highlight of what Copenhagen has to offer.

Tivoli Gardens is a must do day out for families when visiting Copenhagen. The theme park is one of the oldest in the World and is famous for inspiring the original US Disneyland.
.
The gardens are located directly opposite Copenhagen central station and its location and presence in the city is very unique for a capital.
.
Using the Copenhagen Card we were able to gain access to the gardens as part of the cards attractions ticket meaning that the only additional charge was the ride pass, which gives you access to all the rides all day long, for as many times as you wish. Please note, if you only want to go on 1 or 2 rides you can just pay as go but 3+ makes buying a ride pass worth it.
.
My kids loved the rocket and wooden rollercoaster and went on both 4 times each + most of the other rides with only a few exceptions.
.
The gardens are a spectacular attraction in themselves and it was very enjoyable taking in the different settings and venues dotted around the rides.
.
There are plenty of places to eat and drink and all are of a high standard and are reasonably priced. If you wish, you can leave and return to the park so long as you get a stamp. However, tickets and passes are only valid for 1 day.
.
As mentioned at the start of this review Tivoli is a must visit attraction in Copenhagen even if you don't like rides as the site is full of history and character.

Great place. Have fun. Must visit if you are in Copenhagen. Tivoli Gardens is not just an amusement park, but an absolutely great place to have fun and enjoy drinks and food. The rides here are amazing and then you have surprising events all the time. One of the best places to visit in Copenhagen.
The David Collection in Copenhagen is a museum of art that contains a large collection of Islamic art, as well as paintings and decorative arts from Europe and Denmark during the early modern period. The gallery is located in a beautiful Neo-Classical building overlooking Rosenborg Castle Garden.
Astonishing collection of Islamic art and artifacts. Ceramic collection is amazing. Ottoman era robes, wood carvings, miniatures, it just goes on and on. Ran out of time, so I had to miss the European section, sadly.

Fantastic, free museum to do in Copenhagen. It was empty on a Sunday afternoon. My friend and I roamed through all 4 floors of the collection for ~1h and it was a great conversation spot. The exhibits are beautiful with good reading materials to supplement.

Crazy that this museum is free!
I wasn't expecting so much, but the collection here is great, and you have all the facilities necessary (cloakroom, clean toilets, phone to translate the explanation fof each piece in english). The staff was friendly, the collection extensive (we spend 2h there) and the whole building is very beautiful (it is located on 3 floors in an old home).
I definitely recommend it if you are in Copenhagen, even if you don't have time to see the entire collection; again it's free, so just choose what you like and spend some time here!

A Hidden Gem in Copenhagen
My wife and I had the pleasure of visiting Davidssamlingen right here in Copenhagen, and we were thoroughly impressed. While not specifically specializing in Islamic art, Davidssamlingen houses an incredibly impressive collection that spans from the 7th century to around 1850, covering a vast geographical area from Spain to India. The quality and range of the pieces on display are exceptional, offering a deep dive into Islamic artistic heritage.
What makes Davidssamlingen even more special is its peaceful ambiance, coupled with the fact that it's free to visit. This allows for a leisurely exploration of art without the hustle and bustle typically found in more internationally recognized museums. The museum's quiet and welcoming environment makes it a perfect spot for art lovers who prefer a more intimate experience.
The collection is so vast and rich that it invites numerous visits, and we are already planning our next. For anyone living in or visiting Copenhagen, Davidssamlingen is a must-visit destination. Its understated charm and splendid collection ensure a five-star experience for all who walk through its doors. We love it and look forward to uncovering more treasures on future visits!

What a fantastic place to visit. I never thought I was into Islamic art versus Christian art but this museum blew me away with its incredible collection. I could have stayed for hours more. It's hard to rate because the collection is huge and has some lovely pieces, but many of the items were presumably acquired unethically, and some have already been requested to be returned to the country of origin. It's really sad seeing ancient works that have been broken into smaller pieces in order to make them easier to sell. The small collection of Danish art seems like a complete afterthought.

Beautiful and well rounded collection of Islamic art. The museum does an amazing job of accompanying the art with its historical context and allows you to follow through the periods of Islamic culture as you move through. The museum also has an amazing app that translates any label to English and is extremely user friendly. I loved listening to the audio supplements as well.
The European art part of the collection is a nice companion that gives you the chance to make stylistic comparisons. I love that they share the museum!

We were pretty suprised. It's FREE. We were expecting small collection with few paintings but it's pretty big and complex with 3 floors. The muslimic collection is the biggest one and then there are more collections, quite smaller. I liked it. They lend you phone when you can load individual pieces of the collection. There are plenty of toilets or seats to make sure you are comfortable.
There were not much people, it's kinda hidden. I recommend!

Grundtvig's Church is an Expressionist-style church with a Gothic interior that seats 1800 people. The architect, Peder Vilhelm Jensen-Klint, chose the style to honour the great Danish priest, poet, philosopher and reformer N.F.S. Grundtvig.

It's off-the-beaten-path and a trek to get there being so north from central city, but it's worth the investment. Grundtvigs Kirke is one of the only examples of expressionist architecture in churches around the world. From the moment you turn the corner to see the church, it's stunning. It seems other worldly.
It's open throughout the year for visitors. When my friend and I went in at 3 p.m. on a Thursday in October 2021, the doors were open and an organist was playing. A few tourists filled the seats snapping photos of the unique design.
If you love design and architecture, definitely go here. Admission is free and they sell a few items inside to help fund the church's Christmas charity work.

Even someone agnostic like me has to admit that this church has a character that invites you to be in peace with yourself when you enter through the wooden doors. We travelled here by bus from our hotel and walked the last kilometer to arrive behind the massive building. It was temporarily closed for a wedding so we had the time to have lunch in a nearby restaurant after which we were allowed in. The light streaming in through the high windows gives a very particular character to the architecture and you can spend hours admiring the ever changing light patterns on the sand coloured brick. The buildings surrounding the Church have a very interesting architectural history. We strongly recommend you pay a visit to this place.

The building itself is ok but I don't like the staff inside. Are they arrogant and unable to speak with reason, or do they disdain to speak with reason? But what else can one say about a church that is free to visit? And as far as I know, the church tax of Danish citizens is an important source of maintaining the operation of the church. But there seems to be some weird event going on inside, and all visitors are not allowed to approach.

FYI they were doing construction on both sides of the church there was scaffolding.

Grundtvigs Church in Copenhagen is probably one of the most remarkable churches I have had the honour of photographing. Its unique feature is the expressionist architectural style with predominantly neo-Gothic elements.

This is a very holy church, some distance from Copenhagen. When I saw this building, I couldn't help but marvel at the fact that in such a cold place, however, the Danish architectural design gave me a touch of warmth, even in the middle of winter. Amazing Church In Copenhagen. A 20 minute train ride from city centre. It has a different style and vibe compared to Copenhagen Cathedral but overall a pleasant one. The design is breathtaking and grand but at the front near the altar there is a sense of peace and intimacy with religion, away from the distractions that surrounds you.
Another amazing attraction!
Torvehallerne is a covered, urban market with stalls selling local produce, gourmet foods, drinks and desserts. It's one of Copenhagen's most popular public markets and is worth a visit for its delicious food and gorgeous flowers.
Really great place to come to try a variety of local dishes and sit over a glass of wine, beer or cup of coffee. The fruit and flower stalls in the middle are delightful. Lots of places to sit. The stalls and tapas style of eating reminds me of Spanish markets. Family friendly and also good for meeting friends.

Amazing food! It reminded me a bit of Barcelona’s market. This one is smaller and very interesting. But it’s more a place to find snacks rather than full on meals. Lovely nonetheless. There’s an outdoor seating area and tons of specialty food. Well worth the visit.

Its Worth a visit but also overcrowded and a bit expensive. It’s packed with tourist and locals touring the narrow isles between the small food stalls. There’s a lot of food to choose from but as far as I could tell nothing really unique here. But the area is nice as well. On a sunny day it’s nice to sit outside in the sun with a drink.

Ahhh these markets were one of our favourite things that we did in Copenhagen. They had SO MANY food stalls and lots of options! This location is amazing with so many shops to choose from. Fresh seafood available, various kinds of sandwiches topped with multiple options. There was also a sushi bar, coffee shops, a tea bar and various wine and beer options as well. There’s a fruit & vegetables outdoor market for you to explore the fresh produce. I settled for fish & chips and blue mussels in the end and it was divine!

This was our first stop in Copenhagen. We love these open markets! There were so many different delicious foods and drinks! Great places to get treats for the day, to take home for later, or for gifts. Everyone was very helpful, and language was not a problem, English was spoken widely.

If you get over the fact that Copenhagen is very expensive then you can enjoy this town and food market. It’s has vast variety of seafood eateries and food options for a nice meal. They also have fresh seafood market and produce that look amazing. It’s a nice place to meet up with friends for a drink or a relaxing lunch. Highly recommend visiting this food market when you are visiting Copenhagen.

It's market but it's more like luxury food court which have some fresh vegetable, fruit and meat also seafood. Several famous restaurant and cafe have their stall here. On the other hand, there not many places to sit so make sure you’re prepared to takeaway especially in winter.
Worth to come and try. Really enjoy.

Torvehallerne KBH had me hyped. Visions of gourmet delights and a vibrant food market danced in my head. While the reality wasn't bad, it didn't quite live up to the hype.
The food itself was good. We found some tasty options, but nothing mind-blowing. Honestly, the open-faced sandwich I had was a bit of a letdown. Maybe it was just my choice, or perhaps I'd been spoiled by some truly amazing Danish food elsewhere.
Another thing to consider: seating. We hit the market right at lunchtime, and let's just say it was packed. Every stall had a queue, not super long, but enough to make grabbing a seat and relaxing a bit of a challenge.
Overall, Torvehallerne KBH was alright. It's a good option if you're looking for a quick bite and don't mind a bit of a crowd. But if you're expecting a gourmet food paradise, you might leave feeling a little underwhelmed, just like me.

World class food hall with a bounty of high-quality local goods and fresh produce. I recommend enjoying lunch here, purchasing a bottle of long pepper akvavit, sampling the local beer and purchasing many treats for your visit as well as souvenirs for only the most deserving of friends and family.

Beautiful food market spread over two buildings. Popular with locals and tourists alike, it's great for shopping or grabbing a bite. You can get very different kinds of food - smørrebrød, oysters, smoked fish, pastry, tacos, tapas.... Plenty of choices! We loved to eat there and try out new things. It's busy at peak times, but absolutely worth a short wait.

One of our favourite stops on a short visit to Copenhagen. We have some Smorrebrod, it was delicious. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming too!
We were also face timing our daughter whilst waking through the next day, showing her the fruit market and the owner called us over and gave us a punnet of strawberries telling us to give them to her as a surprise! What a guy! The world is still so full of great people!

I honestly don’t understand the 5 star reviews to this place. I’ll give 0 star if I can. You cannot event call it a market. I’ve been to the central markets in Florence, in Lisbon, the outdoor morning market in Venice near Rialto bridge, Pike Street market in Seattle, and many more, all has a liveliness to it to call it a market. The bare minimal is that it needs to offer both fresh food/ingredients and good cooked food. We were very hungry in a dark night at around 6pm (Copenhagen winter time sun sets at 3-4pm, KBH closes at 7), circled around the “market”for three rounds. First we were surprised how small it is. Second, we cannot find anything to buy, to eat. There were few eateries, but anything looks even remotely like you can buy something, there was a long line. There is so few place to seat. It would be better off buying frankfurter at one of the night “Christmas markets”.

I really enjoyed going there! It's a small museum but rich of art of Danish painters between '800 e '900. I was really impressed by the art of the painter Kroyer.
Sometimes the system of lights reflecting on the paintings don't allow you to see them perfectly, but that's all. I would definitely reccomend to visit this museum :)

This museum is tucked slightly out of the way and easily missed even though it is very centrally located (and a literal stones throw) from Statens museum for kunst (a massive and impressive art museum in the Danish capital). Hirschsprung contains a small(ish) collection of some very wonderful pieces by artists with roots in Denmark. Nice variation of styles and subjects on display.

A nice little museum that will take up a few hours of your time. It is predominantly oil on canvas spread around several different rooms. As the website will tell you, this focuses on Danish artists.
From the standpoint of size and media, it reminded me of the Frick collection in New York City.

Frederiksberg Have is a picturesque park in Copenhagen designed in an English-style landscaped garden. The park features lakes, woodlands, and expansive picnic lawns. A notable royal relic guarding the entrance is the 19th-century statue of Frederik VI, who used to take boat rides along its canals. The baroque palace Frederiksborg Slot once served as the summer residence for the royal family but now hosts the Royal Danish Military Academy.
Run, walk, breath, take photo… cold or hot weather, winter or summer. Alone or with kids, you will always enjoy going in the gardens. Coffee to go to fully enjoy this experience :-)

A beautiful 🤩 park in Copenhagen. I have taken advantage this park over the +20 years living in Copenhagen.
It is great for families with opportunity to play and picnic 🧺 as well as just cozy walks with someone you love 💕.
I have also been to dog 🐩 training in the park and many runs in and around. There are great hills to train on that lead up to where the zoo is and not to forget the elephant area visible from the park side.
I can recommend this place and remember to be respectful by cleaning up after yourselves as well as your pets. Enjoy ☺️

A great experience of an evening walk for couples and family. Children friendly, pet friendly garden. The garden is around 158 acres feeling it to be huge for a day out. You can also get in your own food and beers and spend a very good day there. However cleanup the area before you leave 🙂 Don't forget to bring your own mat to put on the grass as the grass area is not very clean all over!

Great museum. Large variety of art and sculptures from all over the world. There was a lovely free clay class, where you made your own little tile. That was a very fun surprise. The area inside is gorgeous and there are over 20 rooms full of art, so it will take quite a bit of your time to see it all. But definitely recommend going here, it was very nice.

This is the private collection of Carl Jacobson, of Carlsberg beer fame. It contains mainly Danish and some French painters from the late 1800s, and a great deal of Egyptian, Greek, and Roman statuary, mainly from tombs. They had a special exhibit, that was great, of a Spanish painter. The museum is relatively small, and free on the last Wednesday of every month. It was interesting, and it is easy to get through the museum in 1-2 hours.

Highly recommend for a visit
- you can spend an hour or more here (some people even come here to sketch artworks which the museum provides seats)
- garden in the center is beautiful, both decoration and even natural sunlight from the glass roof. There are many benches to sit and enjoy the atmosphere
- there are many pieces from Western culture as well as Egyptian
- the funny thing is there are many head statues and also many broken noses lmao
- they provide locker rooms, in case you have big belonging such as backpack, which you can exchange a coin using credit card with coin machines. Later on, you can either keep the coin or exchange it back

You can feel inspired when you leave here. At the bottom of the gallery there is also a beautiful garden and gift shop.

Review regarding the art is 10/10. It's so rich, in different epochs and styles, really impressive and very well presented. The garden is beautiful and well maintained.
What could be improved:
1. Heating - it was cold in most of the rooms. I assume maybe it can not be too hot where the paintings are (?), but it is really cold to be there without your jacket on
2. Food in the caffe - The museum is big and you could easily spend the whole day there. So most likely, you will eat something. The current menu is really poor, food is of good quality but super blend and basic. It was not seasoned at all and was really hard to eat.
3. Security staff breaths behind your neck, so it was awkward for a few moments 😳😀

The Church of Our Saviour is a stunning 17th-century Baroque place of worship in Copenhagen. It offers an exhilarating excursion as visitors can climb the narrow winding stairs to reach the top of the church tower, providing breathtaking views across the city. The church is a notable landmark on tours of Copenhagen, along with other attractions like the old Stock Exchange and the Little Mermaid.
Breathtaking view of the city from the top. It requires climbing which can be a bit challenging since there are 400 steps but it’s definitely worth it. You can climb the stairs all the way to the top. It can be very windy up there but the view is incredible. Best view of the city!

A must visit while in Copenhagen. The best 360 degree views of the entire city from the outdoor staircase. If you're afraid of heights the outside top section of the staircase may be a challenge but you can always stop at the viewing deck for some good views without climbing all the way to the top. The inside stair climb gets decently narrow at the top but is such a cool experience seeing the history and architecture up close. I was inside the tower when the bells went off and it was such a cool experience! The entry fee is super cheap and they accept major credit cards. Highly recommend you add it to your must-do list on your visit!

The Church of Our Saviour in Copenhagen is an architectural masterpiece that offers a truly unique and exhilarating experience for visitors. Its iconic steeple climb is an opportunity to conquer fears and witness breathtaking views of the city.
The church itself is a stunning example of Danish Baroque architecture, with its intricate details and beautiful interior. However, it's the steeple climb that sets this place apart. If you can muster up the courage to ascend its winding, narrow staircase, you're in for a treat.
As you climb higher, the anticipation builds, and when you finally reach the outdoor spiral staircase, the adrenaline rush is undeniable. The panoramic views of Copenhagen from the top are nothing short of awe-inspiring. The city sprawls out beneath you, revealing its charm and beauty in every direction.
While the ascent can be challenging, the feeling of accomplishment upon reaching the top is unmatched. It's a journey that not only offers breathtaking vistas but also a sense of personal triumph over fear. The Church of Our Saviour's steeple climb is a must for those seeking a memorable adventure and a new perspective on Copenhagen.

What can I say about something that everyone is highly speaking? I found the church closed, although I had an appointment to climb into the tower. Inside, the stairs are easy to climb, at the beginning, then they become steeper and steeper, reaching to vertical in last part. Then, you reach a platform from where you have a wonderful see sight of the city. The outer stairs are becoming narrower as you climb, in order to reach nowhere as they never have a real end ( and you hit your head into something hard). If it’s crowded, then there is an issue as there is not enough space. As a summary, you go up in order to have from where to come down. The main piece is the platform as it’s the place where you fill your heart with beauty. Let’s say it was worth it.

Really nice view! Maybe the best in town. Buy your tickets in advance, we tried to go on Thursday and were sold out even online. So, we get the tickets next day but when we bought it (maybe 5:00 pm) it just left tickets to 7:00 & 7:30 (the last schedules).

The external spiral winding is really nice to climb up. It costs around 60dkk per person for entry. The church bell looks really old but built really strong. The inner wooden staircase looks really old but nostalgic. The view from up top the church is magical. It's more beautiful if you can time it at the end of hour so that you can hear all the church bells ringing and echoing.

This Church has a lot of history in Denmark is a place you should definitely see when visiting Copenhagen. If you are afraid of heights I still recommend taking a look at the chapel as it is very ornate. For the adventurous type climbing the tower is a must! The price for adults is only 65 DKK and students get a discount as well. The views are breathtaking. The stairs do get narrow so I would recommend being in some physical shape and not being afraid of heights. Seriously one of my favorite places to visit.

I was supposed to climb the tower, but unfortunately it was cancelled due to the bad weather conditions.
I had booked the ticket in advance online, and was really impressed by how quickly they refunded the money back to my account.
I only received the cancellation email once I’d arrived at the church, so thought I might as well have a look inside whilst I was there.
The interior of the church is actually really beautiful, and definitely worth visiting.

Baroque Copenhagen church built in 1695 with a 70 metre spire constructed more than 50 years later. Climbing the spire is a great experience with fantastic views over the city. It is 400 steps to the top with the final 150 steps on the outside. If you plan a visit make sure to buy timed tickets for entry to the spire in advance.
Our Savior's Church tower contains six large bells and a fantastic carillon. With as many as 48 bells, the carillon plays its delicate melodies over the neighbourhood daily

My highlight of the trip! The ticket was worth the price. The view is amazing from the tower. Can be a bit scary or uncomfortable going up though. I would suggest getting a time slot in advance. There were many people and we had to wait for 40 minutes before getting in.

Such a cool spire and lookout point—best view of the city! I can’t find any proof that they’re related, but it makes me think of King Trident’s castle from Disney’s The Little Mermaid (and Walt did love to steal designs from Europe). This spire had an amazing 360° views and some interesting artifacts inside, but definitely not a good trip for those with a fear of heights.

Our Saviour's is one of Denmark's most famous churches. The spire is an icon in the city, I signed up the climbing tour and waited for about 40 minutes. It was really worth the effort climbing the 400 steps to the top. The views of the entire Copenhagen was magnificent, and you appreciated the wooden stairways have been there for centuries for the worshipers. A must-see for the city! Cheers!
Qihua M — Google review
We weren’t sure whether to climb it as we were exhausted from the previous days but we did it and we don’t regret it. Whether because of the adrenalin or the views, the 400 steps weren’t as many as it sounds and it was a 30-40 minutes experience all in all(including going down). It was great even if one’s not very confident with heights.

Pros: Very fun. Went on a sunset tour during summer, stayed at top for about half an our. Incredible views of the city. Would recommend going towards the end of a trip so you can find all the places you have visited. If you book sunset tickets you will have water and snacks at the top.
Cons: It is very VERY high up. Would not recommend if you have a fear of heights. If you are scared of heights, a great alternative would be the round tower. There are a lot of very scary stairs and if you choose to go to the very top it gets really scary climbing the spiral staircase outside the tower.
Gregory Ipeirotis — Google review
Amazing view of the city from top, but needs you to climb about 15 floors through difficult stairs. Also by the time you reach the top, it feels quite high and windy (a bit scary as well, even though the stairs have a solid railing to prevent any disaster).
The view of the city from top is unmatched. Also the large bells and their synchronous music is amazing to imagine while climbing the tower.
We couldn't enter first time we visited due to a long wait, and next time we booked tickets in advance - would strongly recommend doing that.

The first 250 steps up were very easy, after that it got steeper and you really had to watch where you are going. The views at the top were amazing! There is a limit of people per times timeslot so it wasn't that crowded on top of the church. We really enjoyed it and would recommend it.
Notes: If you have kids or elderly people with you, you should reconsider going up the tower due to the difficult climb up. And obviously it isn't made for people afraid of heights.

Book a time slot well in advance to avoid disappointment. Amazing bells on view on the way up the wooden stairs. Fantastic panoramic views from the top viewing platform and a further brass spiral staircase takes you even higher! Don't miss the amazing organ in the church below. Nearby Christiana worth a stroll.

We only got to the tower since the church was close to the time we visited. Great monument, have to climb some steep stairs to get to the top where the view over Copenhagen is outstanding. Totally worth the leg exercise!
I guess one should be cautious in case of strong winds

Worth every penny to climb up the tower and learn about the history! The tower’s upper part is very steep and there are quite a lot of stairs so might require some physical fitness to climb

Gorgeous and unique looking church. The main church itself was closed due to a funeral service but the tower above was open as normal. If you’re scared of heights, give it a miss! We naively went up on a very windy day and as someone that’s not even remotely scared of heights, it was scary!!
I can imagine it being scary on a calm day too, low railings, steps leaning on an angle, etc… the steps just get smaller and smaller until they just disappear and you can’t walk any further.
Worth it for the fantastic views from the top though!

In 2024, a special celebration of Johann Sebastian Bach's organ music is held in Our Saviour's Church. Over 16 hour-long concerts, organist Lars Sømod will perform all the organ pieces in Johann Sebastian Bach's catalogue of works on the church's famous elephant organ during the year - a powerful performance by the greats.

But there is much more to see and do.
You can climb the tower! On the outside! Highly recommended. The view is amazing.

Monumental organ inssiide this church is a must see. The view from its tower is absolutely stunning when the weather is nice. However note that tower church is closed in January.
nadia641 — Google review
The 360 degrees views from the viewing platform are not to be missed …and even more spectacular if you dare to continue upwards along the outside spiral metal staircase. Not for the faint hearted though … As it’s the same steep 400 steps up that you climb inside the tower and the same steps down … but so worth the exercise you give your lungs and legs.
The Royal Danish Theatre is a centuries-old performing arts theater that is home to the Royal Danish Opera, Ballet and Orchestra. The building has an imposing classical exterior and beautiful inner hall, which was recently renovated. Concerts and dramas are regularly staged here, as well as opera performances. The cafe next to the theater offers delicious smushi sandwiches perfect for refueling after a show.
Fantastic place. Build as the first ever theater to hold, acting (theater), opera, concerts and ballet. However today mainly does ballet, as Opera and Acting is in newer buildings elsewhere in Copenhagen.
We did a behind the scenes, yeah literally, tour which took us thru the amazing workshops for costumes and scenery and the rehearsal halls. Even the royal Suite!
Can't wait to go and see the next play there.

I took the guided tour for DKK150, and it was absolutely worth it to see behind the scenes of the historic theatre. Rather than a dry and rote tour, I could feel the passion our guide had for the theatre and the entire tour was light hearted, fun and educational. Due to ongoing rehearsals, we had the chance to see the flower and accessory workshop instead and it was absolutely amazing. Do take the tour if you have the chance.

Beautiful historical building, well kept, authentic hall. Saw the “Dans2Go” here and had a very exciting evening out with my mother. The ballet dancers were so talented, it was so amazing to see! Fantastic experience!

We went to see "Amadeus" and we do really recommend it if you speak Danish. The actors were amazing, the play is very well structured and we did really enjoy how well it is being performed. Very much recommended if you pass by to CPH to see if there is any play you can attend.

I saw the Nutcracker, beautiful theater, performance was good too, the building and architecture beautiful as many building's in Copenhagen.

I watched the ballett Napoli. It was great. Gamle Scene has a good seating arrangement. The seats are spacious and wide enough, even for a big guy like me. They offered two breaks between the acts which were quite convenient. The ballett dancers showed off their amazing skill. The pricing is great at the Det Kongelige Teater. All in all a great experience.

Watched a metal concert by Opeth here in 2019 and most recently the Nutcracker musical in Dec 2021. Beautiful theatre though I wish the seats had a bit more space. It's obviously a very old building but well maintained.

This is the old Theater set in the very center of CPH, right on one of the main squares - Kongens Nytorv. It's very convenient to visit, as it's very close to pedestrian Stroget street and Nyhavn.
Royal Danish Theater is an imposing Neo classic building dating back to second half of 19 c. It's beautifully decorated with two famous Danish poets statues in front
The Open Air Museum is located just outside Copenhagen and features a collection of buildings from 1650-1940, showcasing the architectural evolution over time. Visitors can also observe old breeds of livestock and beautiful gardens while being entertained by costumed actors. With a total of 86 buildings, there are plenty of opportunities to learn about history and architecture in peaceful surroundings suitable for picnics.
It is just outside Copenhagen. 30 minnutes by train. I just love this place. Very interesting buildings with good information. There are 86 in total. Lovely quiet with many places you can eat your picnic.
The pictures are just few of the houses close to the entrance. If you go just a little further there are big open fields.
A tip. Only 5 minutes by bus you arrive at the town Lyngby. Stop at Lyngby moelle.
Enjoy the walk, only 300 meter to the center. Take a cup of coffee or tea and go shopping in the center or Magasin Supermarket. The picture is the old church of Lyngby.

We debated whether to go but ultimately very happy we decided to! Make sure to grab a map at the entrance because the grounds are massive and there is tons to explore. We spent almost 3 hours there in the end, and would have stayed longer if we could have.
Great for kids or adults and good value for money. Highly recommend visiting

A wonderful park to walk through on a sunny day! Fun to see how people lived back in the days. Except for one building, all have been moved here! Quite impressive. The animals around were a nice bonus. We would had liked to have a bit more information about the living styles though, there is some information before you enter a building, but we would had liked to learn more about the different tools etc.

Wonderful place for a day trip, specially for kids! Old houses were impressive and really take you on a history path of Nordic living. Horses, goats, sheep, pigs… it’s fun to see them enjoy their snacks or just chilling. You can bring your lunch basket and enjoy the views, or take some snacks in the venue. Train from cph is fast and direct!

Great place, kids friendly. A big park with old houses brought from all over Denmark. You can enter each house which is decorated as in the old times. Some days they have special events so check their website to see whether they are doing something special. There are also actors dressed like in the old times and they usually do something for the guests. We made a bracelette from whool the other day for example

One of the best places I visited in Denmark! We had a family day out and had great fun there. Felt like we went back to historic time in Denmark ; old houses with cattle space, people around in traditional Danish dress, their activities.Everything touched heart! Must go place 🤗and yes Easily accessible!

Very interesting place where you can see how the Danes lived in the past. There are a lot of houses and farms, also some farm animals - cows, horses, goats, sheep, etc. The place is huge but it is very interesting and offers great walks like if you are really in the countryside. It is popular place for the little children. It would have been better if there was more information or people telling more about the differerent houses or demonstrating what life was.
There are placec to at or have picknick. You can reach the park by short train ride.

Lovely experience for anyone interested in history, old Scandinavian farmsteds, buildings and interiors. Houses have been brought here from many parts of current Denmark to old Danish territories as far away as the Faroe Islands, Northern Germany and Southern Sweden. Lovely walk, cute farmyard animals, activities for young children.

The Rosenborg Castle is a palace located in Copenhagen, Denmark. It is noted for its art treasures and for the Crown Jewels - the largest collection of jewels in the world. The castle also houses the Royal Museum, which houses objects collected by Danish royalty.
Breathtakingly beautiful castle with a huge and rich collection of antiques and valuable items. The garden of the castle is some of the most picturesque gardens in Copenhagen, especially during the summer season. The staff is super kind and friendly. Very impressive exhibition of artwork, the Crown Jewels, etc. The rooms are renovating nicely and you are able to follow the diversity of furniture during the different periods.

A small and cute castle with an awesome garden and great outside design. I didn't have time to enter the inside, but did a good round walk that I enjoyed. Definitely worth the visit. If you're not going to enter, you can see it good enough from the gardens - the two aren't connected directly probably for security reasons.

What a beautiful place to visit. Even though I didn't go inside, I loved seeing the castle from the outside. The gardens are amazing, and the castle itself looks really impressive. It's a great spot to take pictures and enjoy the atmosphere of Copenhagen. Easily accessible by public transport.

The castle tour is very interesting with lots of art and furnishings to see. The castle does not have good ventilation so go when it's cooler outside. We were there on a very warm day. The surrounding gardens are gorgeous to see.

This old castle is interesting, and of course, the crown jewels in the basement are the big draw. Most of the artifacts are hard to see. Almost everything seemed dusty and neglected. Many of the items are priceless, so it seems sad to let them sit so clearly uncared for.
I recommend going with a good guide or guidebook, to get a better sense of the history.
Linda McLoon — Google review
Built in Dutch Renaissance style during the 1600’s its small windows result in dimly lit interiors. Interior plasterwork is ornate and heavy, the main points of interest are the naval tapestries in the great hall on the top floor and the royal regalia and valuable gold and silver items displayed in the basement vaults.

Beautiful castle! The grounds around it are so pretty and you’re able to get a good photo in front of it. It’s worth paying the $18 to enter the castle.

We had a great time here. Very interesting, with the Danish crown treasure and a very well preserved castle. This one is a must see in Copenhagen. One ticket gets you in both the Treasury and the Castle. The castle is unique as most of it is original from the 1600’s. Very cool!
Brent Williams — Google review
Small castle with some interesting rooms. My favourite is the mirrors room. The free map is very informative with good tidbits about each room. If you have to choose only one of the palaces/castles I would say this one is the one that offers the most for your buck. The gardens are also great for a picnic and a bit of rest. There was a bit of a wait to get in due to entrance times but this also means that you won’t be crowded inside. If you have a tight schedule I would suggest booking in advance.

One of the beautiful historical sites in Copenhegen. Booking for time slot online in advance is highly recommended. It's very well operated and very beautiful from floor to ceiling. There are two separate parts. First entrance to visit the Royal rooms in the castle, and then walking to Treasury which the Royal treasure is stored, including very gorgeous crowns. All staff are very friendly and helpful. So impressive!

Wow! This castle is amazing! The amount of furniture inside here in absolutely incredible! There are loads of rooms to visit here. From the gigantic hall at the top to the small, medieval bathroom at the end, this was just shocking. Definitely recommend coming here! 5 stars! Best castle I've ever been in!
Filip Szulc — Google review
A very good display of Kings/Queens belongings and utilities. One can find a lot of paintings in the castle in every room and also see how the painting skills have changed over decades. The numbered rooms and digital audio guide in the mobile were a good use of technology and easy to know the place. They also give a hard copy of the guide.
The castle tour is on multiple floors. Every item, decor, and interior is so grand that each random picture will look very rich. After coming out, be sure to go inside another entrance and check out the treasury in the basement. Excellent collection of jewelry, guns, wine barrels, ivory carvings, etc. The single entry ticket will get you to enter both castle and treasury.
After this, one can roam around in the huge gardens. We didn't find the entrance for this from the inside, so we just had to walk till the road and go in the garden from a different entrance. It is very pleasant and well maintained, so it's worth going in the garden.

Great Renaissance era castle. The exterior is super impressive and the grounds are meticulously maintained. To enter the castle it costs 130 Danish Krone - but it is well worth it! The castle has heaps of preserved memorabilia from the era, and the rooms are super interesting - including the “Throne Room”. Highly recommended if you are in Copenhagen.

We only viewed the castle from the King's Garden, across the moat. The architecture is quite lovely and reminiscent of fairytale castles. We didn't have time to go into the castle during our trip, but instead viewed its exterior facade - which is worth stopping to view. It's a lovely area to walk through though.

Absolutely beautiful! Much better than the more famous Amalienborg Palace museum, and well worth the trip. Keep an eye out for the trick chair that was used to make someone look as though they’d wet themselves and the communication holes from one end of the palace to the other!

The castle is small but beautiful. It was less busy than castles we've been to in the past which allowed you to take your time and admire the castle. If your ticket gives you access to the Treasury, that is really beautiful. Combined, the castle took us an hour and a half. That may be reduced if you don't stop to read the information they have displayed. We enjoyed our time there.

Although small on the outside, the castle houses a lot of interesting contents. Work your way through the castle and the history to learn about the different kings. The basement has an impressive selection of ivory and the crown jewels aren't to be missed. Easy to spend 1-1.5 hours here.

A beautiful castle from the outside, filled with decadent displays of royal wealth on the inside. It's good value for the price as each room has something fascinating to look at.

The outside rose gardens are also lovely to walk through and get a great view of the castle.

What a magnificent castle housing some impressive artifacts. It was busy so had to wait 50 mins for our slot, which was ok as it gave us the opportunity to explore the grounds and admire the castle from the outside.
Once inside, you circulate around each floor. tip, use the guide leaflet available free at the ticket office and is available in multiple languages.
You end your tour in the basemen, where the royal Crown Jewels are stored. Very impressive

This is an early 17th century castle that houses the Danish Crown Jewels. The ballroom/knight’s hall and glass cabinet on the top floor were particularly nice to see, as were the surrounding gardens, which are free. Well worth a visit, which I would recommend prioritizing if pressed for time.

This old palace houses a lot of old royal paintings and treasures. The crowns and jewelry are shown in the basement. However, you have to walk up three floors and one floor down to the basement to see all these. No lifts. Bathrooms are also outside the building. The garden is open to the public. It has a separate entrance. That means you cannot walk directly from the castle to the garden.

Plenty to see inside and a lovely park outside the castle to enjoy the fresh air.
The highlights are to be found in the basement of the castle where the Crown Jewels are held, alongside the royal wine, ivory and amber collections. Stunning!

Definitely worth the visit if you’re in Copenhagen, my highlight of my visit would be The Royal Treasury: The castle’s treasury house, a dazzling array of royal regalia. Diamonds, pearls, and gem-studded scepters gleam behind thick glass. These artifacts, once worn by monarchs, now rest in quiet splendor. Each piece tells a saga—a narrative of power, love, and ambition.

Interesting royal castle with rich tapestry and a myriad of items to observe, showcasing the splendour of the royal dynasty and their history. The building is mostly made of smaller rooms, but once you enter the throne room, the proportions are gigantic, and the perspectives are elongated. It's not a visit you can miss, and you'll spend a few hours marvelling around.

This small park is a gem hidden away in Copenhagen (Frederiksberg). It is being kept but the gardener students of the school that is situated right next to the park.
Every plant, tree, bush, etc. has a small sign telling the name of the species. This makes the place feel so serene, because you can really go on a journey and get to know the names of so many things, you might not have known already.
The are a bunch of small pathways leading through the trees and bushes, making a walk through the park feel adventurous and magical.
It is not allowed to play ball/throw freesbee, listen to music on a speaker, grill, bring dogs or bicycle. This makes the park enormously calm and quiet. So if you wanna go for a peaceful stroll or wanna sun bath (should the sun ever be out 😉) then this is the place to visit.

The palace is a large, lavish reception room and hall used by the queen to entertain heads of state. It has many ornate rooms and halls, as well as a library. The Great Hall is particularly notable for its colourful wall tapestries depicting 1000 years of Danish history. It is open for guided tours in English at 3pm.
Beautiful place and definitely worth visiting on a trip to Copenhagen.
Allow half a day to make your way through all the different exhibits.
If you don’t have the time or inclination to see all exhibits, the Queens tapestries in The Great Hall and the Tower are the two to see.
The tower has a commanding view out over the city. And the tapestries are different to anything you’ll have seen anywhere else - they alone are worth the visit!

Beautiful place, there is stables with horses but keep quiet so they can rest.

Extremely friendly staff and a place of historical sites for learning of Denmark royal life. The only suggestion is to have clearer and larger signs indicating each site at the palace. I had the impression I could go to the top of the castle (full ticket), but I was not able to find its entrance. I end up almost walked into a restaurant until a staff explained to me it was a restaurant.

Before entering the palace, you are required to use a cover for footwear so that the palace is kept clean. I came in the morning and at that time quite a lot of visitors. Here you can see various rooms in the palace such as the dining room, hall, library, and even the cutlery collection. You can also learn about the history of this place. This place is suitable to be visited with a partner or alone. You can feel inspired when you leave here. This place also provides a gift shop.

It's good to see a nice historical royal place. We took complete package but unfortunately the royal stable was closed. It is possible to choose what you want to see. I would recommend reception. It takes around 2 hours to see everything. Also, bagpacks and umbrellas are not allowed inside. They have provided lockers with free of charge.

I want to be honest up front: most of the palace's visitor areas were closed for an official event. The only open areas were the ruins and kitchens. I only visited the ruins because the kitchens would've just made me hungry, I was only in Copenhagen a few days, and there was more to see. I would give this 3.5 stars.
Anyway, I used my Copenhagen Card to visit the ruins under the Palace courtyard. It's a few steps down and I don't believe any part is handicap accessible, just FYI. Also, no locker usage required like at most other sites. Which is actually good since it was a constant cooler temperature underground and I was glad of my coat.
I recommend using the free audio guide app. All of the signage for each area is also in English, except the diary (so kids that can't read Danish can't play the mystery game). There's a decent amount to see, but it's also a fair amount of historical guesswork with nearly 1000 years gone by. I did like the prisoner and war histories.

This palace is opulent, ornate, and what the young people would call "bougie!" The interior reminded me of the Palace of Versailles in France. It was amazing to see the number of chairs that could fit the massive dining table. Everything was so beautiful, and the intricate details of the walls and doors reminded me of "the gates of paradise" in Florence, Italy. So check it out and see for yourself what you see.
If you have the Copenhagen City pass, the entry is FREE.

An amazing and magnificent place. A unique atmosphere surrounds this location, which I might even call magical to some extent. The huge territory is filled with authentic buildings and gorgeous sculptures from the 19th century, inspired by ancient Greek motifs. The grandeur of the space is truly awe-inspiring. Channels organically surround these beautiful buildings.

There's quite a lot to see. Because we didn't expect it, the ruins under the castle were our favorite bit. We were a group of six adults and the exhibition with monsters was interesting and informative. We didn't visit the kitchens because we were short on time, but I am sure they would be interesting too.

A nice castle still in use for ceremonies by the royal family, you can visit the royal kitchen, the Great hall, the royal stables and the ruins of the previous middle age castle. The visit of the Great all is interesting, for the rest nothing special. I do not recommend the stables, you will see few horses and carriages and it's only opened from 13h30 until 16h00.

This has a really big courtyard for the horses. Its Open to the public has access from both sides. Its all flat ground. And so peaceful to walk around. It was very empty and spacious, not like the busy streets of Copenhagen. Its very easily accessible has bus stop close by for different buses and a short walk away from the main central train station.

The former royal palace, today the seat of parliament. A dominant building that is also beautifully visible from the water. I definitely recommend a cruise on the canals around the area. We did not get to the tower due to the long line

Imposing complex of buildings definitely worth a visit. The most important political place in Copenhagen, as it houses all three branches of the state power. Has sort of a mysterious and brooding aura, that is the most noticeable in a bit of a stormy weather. Recommend going to take a look then.

We went and bought tickets on the spot. We only visited kings palace the entrance tickets was around 13 euros. Other objects we didn’t visit, but you can buy full passage tickets, which is around 35€ and with that’s one you can visit the kitchen, Royale, barracks, and other objects. It was beautiful and the queens library is breathtaking.

Very fun experience, lots of walking around the different rooms and wings of the palace. Lots of English translation and you learn a lot about the history of royalty in Denmark and the history of how the building has been used and rebuilt over the years. Very glad I went. The kitchen was a highlight, surrounded by all the beautiful copper pots. I enjoyed reading about all the intentions of the different tools in the kitchen and bakery. The flora danica, horses, and tower were also stunning.

Unexpectedly sumptuous, terrific plasterwork on many ceilings and in the main decorations are not too gaudy. Good amount of information as you walk around. The ruins are worth a visit as it's the third palace (and fourth building) on the site, here though the information is a little disjointed. Enjoyed the "princess in the tower"story. The Theatre was closed but there are also the stables and kitchens to visit. We visited in February, no queues but wet, windy and snow just added to the overall atmosphere.

Visited in Nov 2023 with Copenhagen Card.
I went here after visiting the ruins, oh wow what a different atmosphere, felt majestic! We need to wear the provided plastic shoes cover inside the place. Cloakroom is next to the souvenir shop.
Navigating inside was easy as they provide layout map. I would suggest to take a look out of the window as it offers interesting views too.
The Library was cute!

The experience was pretty much amazing. The royal rooms and halls are impressive. The ruins were also interesting. The royal kitchen was also fine. The only downside is that, when we visited, the stables were closed... We bought a full ticket, but we could only enjoy 75% of it...

Beautiful scenic views and history! Go see for yourself. It's free too (but you may have to wait for space at the top!)
I wouldn't have known about this viewpoint if it wasn't for being told about it on a canal boat trip! I am very fortunate to have the time to see parts of CPH from above 😍 The signboards of the landmarks around really helped too!

One of the must visit palace and historical object in København/ Copenhagen city if you are traveling here.
If I’m not mistaken it was once got fired up and ruined the whole palaces, so sad to hear that.
But it’s still worth the view.
And also you can’t go to the 360 degrees at the rooftop and they’re also has restaurants with prettiest view of the Copenhagen city there.

We bought a ticket to visit several areas in the same compound, and I think that's worth it. The Sign was very lacking. We had a hard time finding the entrance. It's not just us who were confused, local people too (kids and their guardians from school's field trip). It's a great place to learn some history about Copenhagen and Denmark. It's an important trading city and a historic harbor. Surprisingly, a lot of buildings and city blocks survived without much destruction.

The Christiansborg Palace (The Danish Parliament) structure is humongous. Photographers or Architectural lovers will love this spot. You can walk beneath the towers for free of cost but to enter the sections you will have to pay. There is a restaurant which is always in demand and various sections which has underground hidden places. Must visit if you are in Copenhagen.
The Black Diamond is a newly designed entrance to the library building in Copenhagen, Denmark. The design is notable for its black shiny glass building, which houses a collection of treasures inscribed on UNESCO's Memory of the World Register.
Every time I step inside the Black Diamond, I immediately feel a sense of calmness and tranquility. It almost makes me feel like going back to studying 😅 This is more than a library though: it's a masterpiece of architectural design, it hosts a few exhibits in the lower floor, small shop, and a bar area with food and drinks. The reading rooms (both in the "old" and "new" library) offer quite a lot of seats. What is also worth checking out is the view from the 6th floor and the garden in the backyard. Besides its main purpose as a library, I would also point this out as a cool spot to visit in Copenhagen. When weather is nice, it also offers nice views by the canal.

I'm happy for the people who live in Copenhagen. They have such an extraordinary facility nearby. It's a brilliantly designed building, architecture wise. Inside gave me the calm and clear feeling to focus. The interior is well thought and beautiful in each corner, chairs, lights, tables. There's the old pharmacy cupboards with old books directory, impressively kept in good condition. The lowest floor has a café with the water view. Bread there was good as well. I'd recommend to drop by even just to see around. But be careful not to disturb people 😊

A free space!! It is a really beautiful place situated by the canal. It's called the black diamond, and works well with the old library. The grand viewing gallery is on the sixth floor. Is really handy too, as there's a cafe, gift shop and toilets.

This museum is also called as Black Diamond. This architecture can be explaind the void(Diamond) and solid(Black).
The void make space brightly and this is very important element in this building.
And also there is a water in front of architecture.
Regardless of form or function, I think this approach is very good.
+plus) Most architectures need the window for the environment in space. This architecture also needs window and architects use Black glass to appear black solid.
Look at the window outside. With hidden frame can make it black perfect.

Probably one of the most meaningful and productive and great buildings in Copenhagen at all. The design is awesome, the sun shines in every corner, the space is enough for everyone, there is a fee toilet, a great view, a coffee shop at the first floor, an open space to sit down, read or do a mobile task, or even just rest a bit from the cold winter of Danmark. I loved it and visited twice in the 3 days stay.

The most friendliest people I found from my short trip to CPH were from this place. The lady at the reception gave the brightest smile and clear explanation on how to get to the exhibition downstairs.
Went in Nov23, there were 2 exhibitions, photography and games. I was the only one there, got a bit creepy when I was trying to zoom in on the photos of the deceased on display when suddenly it went blackout for like a second or two! Tried to make my visit there a brief then 😅. On to the gaming exhibition, I enjoyed playing Subway Surfers on their big screen!
The ticket was included in Copenhagen Card.

The "black diamond"...an example of modern architecture.
A fully operating library, with both an old and a new part.
A quiet place to sit.
There is a bookshop, a library and a cafe with an area to sit.

CPH is a fab city of contrasts where old meets modern. This black cube building, called Black Diamond is an extension to the old Royal Danish Library.
It's a very eye catching edifice, built in ultra modern architecture like the Opera further north making it a perfect match with it

Primo study location! The study area have signs that say "users only". That means people who are there to study/work, aka no tourists. You don't have to register or anything like that. Lots of study tables and you can go old charm or modern sleek. Study areas are dead quiet even when full (so def not for meetings or group work). I think there are separate areas for talking and group work. WiFi was fast and easy to connect to.

The Royal Library is a great place to visit that is free and offers great views over the river. "The Black Diamond" as it is called is an architectural marvel. Despite many areas being closed off to the general public (aka tourists, understandably), the bookstore, Cafe and open areas of the building offer more than enough to explore.

Great place to visit. Its an architecture jewel. It’s a place for visit to study or work, or even just to explore. The mix of the old library and the new places is great. The coffee is good, they just need to improve in the WC cleanliness. They have guided tours on Mondays, so schedule in accordance.

The most stunning library. A huge building with several floors. There students studying everywhere and it's so calm and quiet. You should definitely reach the top floor to get a better view and then grab coffee and a snack at the cafeteria located on the ground floor. You can also buy souvenirs and books at a store next to the café.

Unfortunately a lot of areas were closed to visitors the day I was there, but despite this I still really enjoyed my visit.
The café is definitely worth a visit too.

One of the amazing libraries we have been to in Europe. My kid loves visiting libraries when we travel. We were so amazed by the architecture and the settings!
National Museum of Denmark is a great place for history buffs to explore Danish culture and heritage. There are collections and exhibitions on Denmark's history, people and culture, with special emphasis on kids' fun. The museum includes a Children's Museum with no 'do not touch' signs so kids can explore everything from ancient coins to contemporary art.
An amazing collection of artifacts from all over the world! The Viking section was the best, including the remains of the world’s longest Viking ship, an extremely well-done video of the Viking quest to reach Rome, and several rune stones (which, aside from being huge, are on the Danish passport, so they *must* be important!). The other rooms weren’t quite as impressive, but still very well done. For sure one of the top things to do in Copenhagen.

Amazing museum! It's a must if you visit Copenhagen. Full of history, guiding you through time (stone age-modern days) and places (nordic countries and the colonies), correlated with the whole world (with specific traditions). Really well displayed, easy to walk through, interactive. Kids friendly (they have plenty of space to move). Keep in mind it's a long visit (at least 2.5 hours), children might get tired easily. Lockers available free of charge.

One of the really top museums!
There are several different museum exhibits in one place. Danish history is somehow the most interesting to me.
We spent a lot of time in the museum, but it is definitely worth it.
We are very pleasantly surprised by a part related to money. You can try various games to earn a million on your card. Very interesting for both adults and children.
Allow a minimum of 3 to 4 hours for the visit.

This place is massive. I was there for three hours and could have stayed longer but was starting to get burned out. Some many different exhibits and a ton of content. The money hamster wheel got my heart rate up for a bit. Lots of Denmark content but also a good general content that is more European or human or natural history.

Simply put, the best part of this museum was on the ground floor and three thirds of the first floor. After the Viking section, I felt the museum just filled in the rest of that floor with things just to fill it in. To be honest, I did not have the time for the second floor so I can’t speak too much on it.
As for the prehistory floor (ground floor), it was probably the best collection of prehistory of a nation that I’ve ever seen. That floor alone was worth it and I was happy to have seen it. There were excavated graves of prehistory Danes and their bones associated with the graves. Numerous collections of tools, weapons, and old-age currency. Frankly, I loved this section more than any other part of the museum. If you just saw the ground floor only, you’d leave the museum happy.

Nice space for toddlers and children to discover Danish history and run around and use up some energy. Lots of drawing paper, books and crayons were available for children.
Very impressed to see the amount of available strollers to use for parents, it’s nice to help out parents like that.
The museum is very close to Tivoli garden so it can be two nice combined activities for the day.

This museum is incredibly complex and housed inside the former Prince's Palace. It is Denmark's largest museum regarding Danish history and there are so many rooms dedicated to not just Danish history from the Stone Age through modern-day, but also dedicated to ethnography, classical and Egyptian artifacts, and toys. They even have a room dedicated to cosplaying and another where one can dress up like a monarch!
The layout of the museum makes it a little difficult to navigate and one doesn't have a straightforward path through it. I was able to peruse through the museum within an hour, but one could understandably spend 2-3 hours inside.

Really enjoyed the trip here. The museum is probably my favourite so far.
There are 4 levels and so much to see and learn from the Stone Age to bronze and after.
Viking raid stuff is…meh, but we really enjoyed the money part of the museum.
You are given a fake credit card and spin the wheel to see how much you start with, then you take part in 3 different types of activities to turn your beginnings into 1 million danish kroner. The stock market and hamster wheel are interesting but the game show was really good. I ended up with the highest score on the day and had my picture taken for a magazine cover that lasts a week!
Super fun, about £14 in cost and will take a couple of hours to soak it all in. Well worth it.

It is a National museum but unfortunately there are so much other museums that more worth to visit.
Rude, unfriendly staff both at billet ticketing office and also security ground.
And something very untidy with their conceptual decorating ideas, the number of the room wasn’t consecutively ordered, make the visitors often get lost and skipped the historical objects, the room are many narrowed and very dark and dusty ( I very much sneezing a lot).
And also when I visit the museum there’s a bunch of people like playing quiz there are many of them, circling in the object of the museum, playing who gets it first that the other group and disturbing other visitors, talking so loud and I don’t know why the security don’t see it.
Good collection tho about the Danmark kingdom and related to Viking era as well.

An amazing place for museum lovers!
The National Museum of Denmark 🇩🇰 is vast museum with several large exhibitions that include something for everyone. In fact, it's so vast you really need to commit a few hours to exploring the museum and if you have time, you can spend an entire day here.
One of the key highlights is the museums ability to cater for children by having a whole section of museum dedicated to children with interactive slides, props, and mini-adventure playgrounds.
My personal highlights included, Denmark after dark which provided a contemporary history of Danish youth culture and music. This exhibition allows you to create music and dance to Danish Rock band D.A.D.
I also loved KA-Ching, show me the money. This is an interactive game where you can learn about money and win (artificial) money. It sounds crazy at first, but trust me - it's great fun.
In summary, the National museum of Denmark is a true gem and a must see attraction in Copenhagen.

A good education as to Denmark's history. The Viking era is obviously most interesting; I was surprised at how long I wanted to stay, as there was an awful lot to see. The medieval section was far less interesting but well curated. Great prehistory and interesting display of ancient runes.
