The 18th century landmark Place de la Bourse in Bordeaux is a large and beautiful public square with intricate architecture that was built to modernize the city. It is especially noted for its elegant marble facades and vast reflecting pool. Today, it houses the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
This is a wonderful place to visit. This square dates back to the 18th century and is symbolic of the beauty of Bordeaux. It is outside the original fortification walls of the city and is on a wide open space, next to the river Garonne. It is encircled by some amazing, historic buildings, it is the location of the Water Mirror and the views all around are magical. Just wonderful place to enjoy with your family.

Here at dusk, we saw loads of photographers and thinking it would evolve into some kind of fountain show, we waited, and waited as the water drained and returned.... I asked another 'watcher ' if anything else happened and he told me there was a fog to come - a bit later he said after googling it, that it had been cancelled through Covid and never reinstated so who knows 🤷♀️. A pretty place but not spectacular.

Place de la Bourse is a masterpiece of urban design that graces the banks of the Garonne River in Bordeaux. This iconic square, framed by the stunning classical architecture of the 18th century, is a visual delight. The square is not just a historic landmark; it's a dynamic space that captures the essence of Bordeaux's architectural splendor and invites locals and visitors alike to savor the charm of this picturesque destination.

Beautiful place to visit, especially after dark when you can see the mirror of the building.

Elegant building. Large Inch-deep pool across the road. Maybe the pool is a mirror at night, however it was full of kids having a whale of a time during the day.

One of them locations that photos don't really do it justice so if you are in the area go there and see it the way it was meant to be viewed, there is a tram stop right outside just have to step off and take it all in, little tip walk up the small street on the right for some Bordeaux old town atmosphere

BEAUTIFUL EVEN UNDER CONSTRUCTION
When I visited Bordeaux's most famous buildings, some of it was under construction and there was no water in the fountain. That didn't ruin what was otherwise a memorable visit to the Place de la Bourse.
It's a nice square to hang around in and looks even better at night.
Admittedly, you can't really visit the inside (not that I'm aware?) but it's nice to visit.

This is a square landmark for the town, where everybody comes here for view of the town and the river, and it's an amusement park for kids to play with fountain.
The tram stop here as well, just right next to the walking area.

The city is wonderful, full of beautiful buildings. The square has an extremely beautiful and famous fountain. Unfortunately, taking pictures is difficult because it is always full of people. We really enjoyed the square and the whole city during our visit.
This museum offers a fascinating look into wine production and trade from centuries ago in Bordeaux. It showcases tools and materials used in the 2000 years of wine production, as well as various wine tastings to make the visit more interesting. It also has a private masterclasses programme available all year round in English.
Fantastic experience with the museum. The wine tasting and history tour went for over an hour and Mr Eric was fabulous. The rest of the team were very helpful as well. The history was depicted fabulous and I had a really good insight into the wine history of the city.

We went here for a Masters of Bordeaux course organized through Viking River cruises. It was very well executed and we learned a lot at the session. Wines were very and trying a Chateau D'Yquem was an unexpected bonus

A great hidden gem, yes it's not the biggest museum you'll ever ever visit. But the interact audio is great and really informative. We learnt lots about the local area and wine making.
The 10 euro fee also includes the tasting of two wines and 2 extra sweet treats, which makes it great value for money. Chloe was ace!

The tour of the museum is interesting, but the explanation given during the wine tasting makes the visit worth it.

I visited the Wine Museum while on a solo trip exploring Bordeaux. It was beautiful! So fascinating to learn about all the history, dating so far back. The wine tasting at the end was presented by Éric, who did a fabulous job😊 since it was just me, he explained and presented everything so well in English. Very informative, easy to understand, added fun humour in at times and made the entire experience so enjoyable 😊 thank you so much!! Very grateful for my experience there 😊

Great experience to get to know Bordeaux wines and how they evolved throughout the years. It's a hidden gem that should be visited. The wine tasting you have 2 or 3 wine options. We had 2 young and thirsty wines from the region with floral and citric aromas. One fairly aged wine 7 years that was also very tasty.

Beautiful small wine museum. Entrance is only 10€ and is followed by a small wine tasting of two wines. It is possible to do the tasting in english which is preceded by a broad and very helpful introduction into the Bordeaux wine regions.

Great museum - super interesting about the history of the Bordeaux region from its infancy. Nice dégustation at the end, with unusual wines, which offers a change vs the other more classical visits, and a very friendly and knowledgeable guide. Super cheap.

Small but very interesting exhibition of the history of wine in Bordeaux. Situated in the original cellars, it is very authentic. Interesting wine tasting session, informative but low end wines. Recommended

You'll find this little gem on your wine tour of Bordeaux, hidden along the cobbled roads.
This museum will take you back to the history of wine, with some amazing books that record the wine makers and sales, to machinery and old bottles going back years.
Just being in the old cellar and seeing the wines and wooden casks takes you back to one amazing industry from the start.

Kind staff, good explanations about the wine regions and the museum is small but the experience is nice. A lot of mold as it is a cellar though (consider it if you're allergic)

Actually we loved this one even more than the Cite du Vin. This one is quite small, but it's more about trade and Bordeaux than overall wine world. The guided tasting exceeded our expectations and was fun and informative. The merch is also fun! And for the price of the ticket it's a bargain.

Thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Musée du vin et du Negoce de Bordeaux! Unlike larger, modern museum, this gem focused specifically on the Bordeaux region and its rich wine culture. The wine tasting experience was exceptionally well done, allowing me to truly appreciate the flavors of the region. Highly recommend for wine enthusiasts looking for an authentic Bordeaux experience!

Wonderful small wine museum that gives you the history of Bordeaux and the wine industry that flourished there. It’s quite a small place but the price properly reflected that and was a good place to go! Properly enjoyed myself and learned a lot; the final wine tasting was a nice touch and helped to further learn about the difference between the regions
The Miroir d'eau, also known as the 'Water Mirror', is a large reflecting pool located in front of the Place de la Bourse in Paris. The pool is one of the world's largest and offers stunning reflections of nearby buildings during warm sunny days. Every half-hour, dense foggy vapours are ejected to add to the fun (and photo opportunities).

Such an amazing site! You just have to wait for the perfect timing where there is no wind and the water reflection is still to capture the mirror effect. We had to visit several times just to get the perfect shot.
Too bad there is some construction covering on the left side of the building but it is still okay.
Amazing architecture, amazing plaza!

Very cool effect. Make sure to stay long enough to have the water fill the basin, then drain. The full mirror effect does not occur until almost drained.

It's really cool. Fills with water maybe every twenty mins, then ripples for a while before reducing to become a mirror. Really good photos, free to enter, not too crowded.
Ruined slightly by the number of trams in between the mirror and buildings

The Miroir d'eau in Bordeaux is a captivating water feature between Place de la Bourse and the Garonne River. Its mirror effect, reflecting the surrounding architecture, creates a stunning visual experience. Recommended for visits at different times to enjoy the changing scenery, it offers both a refreshing escape during the day and a magical, illuminated spectacle at night, seamlessly blending modernity with tradition in the heart of Bordeaux.

Interesting mirror made of water. The concept is nice and would be extremely cool at dawn and night. The place could become a bit overcrowded at night, with some kids and people running and walking over the thin layer of water. Nice to see during a stroll of the city of Bordeaux.

The Cathedral of Bordeaux is a towering Romanesque cathedral dating to the 11th century, and hosting regular services and organ recitals. It is famous for having a separate and independent bell tower.
This is a lovely very large Cathedral that is a Bordeaux Landmark. Take your time to explore all of the historic section of this masterpiece. It was originated around the 11th Century and was the location of the marriage of Eleanor of Aquitaine to Louis VII of France. She of course became the mother of Richard the Lionhearted. The hundreds of years of history are reflected in the beauty of the stain glass, the architecture and the art.

Lovely and spacious square. The cathedral is currently being restored and the large gilded statue has recently been placed on the spire. A lot of activity going around the plaza. Perfect spot for sunbathing and cultural attraction.

Gothic Roman Style. A clock on an internal side wall is interesting. An Eagle as a podium unique.
Fredrik WESEMANN — Google review
While I was unable to fully explore the interior due to an ongoing mass, the experience left a lasting impression. Situated in the heart of Bordeaux, this majestic cathedral is a true testament to Gothic architecture and the rich history of the region.
The intricate details of the facade, including the striking portals and magnificent stained glass windows, showcase the craftsmanship of a bygone era. The cathedral's spires reach toward the heavens, casting a dramatic silhouette against the Bordeaux skyline.
Though my visit coincided with a religious service, I was able to catch a glimpse of the interior from the entrance. The soaring vaulted ceilings and ornate decorations hinted at the grandeur that lies within. The soft echoes of hymns and the flickering candlelight created a serene atmosphere, even from the threshold.
Its exterior alone is a masterpiece, and I look forward to returning to explore the hidden treasures that lie behind its doors. Whether for religious contemplation or historical admiration, this architectural gem promises an enriching experience for all who enter.

Amazing architecture. Although it would have been better if they provide like an audio guide or a brochure about the history of the place. Alot of infrastructure as still being restored/fixed but it looks great.

I had a tour with recorded guide from GYG app. The cathedral was dated in 15 Century AD. It was build by archbishop of Aquitaine and Bordeaux rev. Pey Berland. The cathedral has very interesting construction due to marshes along the river Garone. The Bell Tower was built separately for the reason that the bell can destroy the cathedral with the resonance. You can see the stained glasses and all the chapples. Great masters!
Daniela Bankova — Google review
Beautiful space but their large posters only cover their fundraising for their organ. Nothing about their history. For example, interesting change in column structure! But no info on it at all. I’d donate more if they were interested in educating me about this space. No public restrooms although nearby public one is closed. Seems a church should really be a bit more helpful to the general public. Ask for the pass sanitaire as do restaurants, if you wish- but serve the people.

Toured central area of Bordeux, France. We found cool flea markets, the entire central area is largely built in gothic stone architecture, and a great beltway around the Garonne River full of people, food, and sites. Visited one of the most impressive cathedrals we've come across so far in the EU (Cathédrale Saint-André). Mind blowing site! This area is large, but for 5€ mass transport available by tram, bus, and boat. Too much to see in one day! 🤙

There's lots of churches here in Bordeaux, but if you only have time for one, visit this one! Saint Andre Cathedral is really nice to visit, there are some amazing pictures you can take from the outside and the interior (whilst dark) looks very pretty.
If you want some super cool pictures, come back at night and they light it up!

We came here during the day and walked around. Its a beautiful cathedral. But the temporary show they have gling on to raise money for the restoration of the church was one of the most incredible things I've experienced in recent memory. Thats not an exaggerated statement. We saw the light show which was the history of the cathedral and the music in it. I've added some videos here. All I can say is... if you get the chance in this or another cathedral, go do it. Absolutely incredible.

We were really blown away by this. There are so many beautiful churches in Bordeaux that we honestly didn't realize this was the cathedral. I know you may think that's a little strange but when you come visit you will get it. Nevertheless, make sure you get here. It is a beautiful place with a gorgeous tower. Unfortunately the tower was closed when we arrived so I couldn't give this a full five stars but may revise my review if we get to the tower and it is all that it is supposed to be.

Very remarkable late gothic Cathedral. Impressive light from the interior. The organ is a masterpiece. It is very curious than the bell tower is apart from the rest of the Cathedral, and that is because the muddy nature of the ground in Bordeaux, that does not allow to overcharge too much an area. A Must see

Beautiful Cathedral, old and historical. It's one of the important landmarks in Bordeaux. It's located in the center and everything is close to it. The tram station A B C D, is beside it. so, you can easily go there by tram from airport or anywhere you come.
The imposing Porte Saint-Eloi belfry, which dates back to the 15th century, is one of Bordeauxs last remnants from its medieval period. With its twin towers and huge bell, it has retained its splendour over the centuries. It was built on the remnants of the 13th-century Porte Saint-Eloy, a former gate in the old city walls.
Grosse Cloche is located a few minutes away from Victoire and Musée d’Aquitaine. It’s a well preserved medieval structure that comprises the classical style of Bordeaux.
There are so many characteristic shops that sell cute and exotic home deco, clothing, or accessories along the alley leading to Grosse Cloche. You can sense the calmness and idyllic side of Bordeaux right after a turn from the busy shopping avenue in Victoire. It’s definitely a recommended district to take a walk around.

Very nice place to hang out alone or with friends as locals do. Perfect place for sports in the heart of the city, but at the moment huge restorations are ongoing, especially in the alleys, so the running paths are kinda shortened because half of them are impacted. Nice coffee/restaurant is located in the southeast part of the gardens.

This impressive monument, which symbolizes the Girondins, will be the perfect subject for your photos in the Place Quinconces in Bordeaux. Fantastic monument. Even the creepy sea horses with claws and tentacles are so enthusiastic that you get swept up in a republican frenzy. Our group of 9 made an unannounced stop at Chateau Ahon at the end of the day, because our children wanted to see the animals. I’m so glad we did! This is a charmingly hospitable family-owned winery, and even though we dropped in without any appointment, and were pressed for time, the daughter efficiently arranged for us to take a self-guided tour through the grounds, ending with a tasting. The walking tour was very fun! The placards along the way are informative and interesting, and you can progress at your own pace. The animals are charming, especially Mirabelle the donkey. We turned back rather than finish the path, so that we’d have enough time for a tasting of the wines. The tasting was pleasant and generous. Even the children got to taste a sparkling grape juice! The boutique is well-stocked with wine and canned goods that will give you ideas for a picnic. I highly recommend visiting this winery, especially with children!
The Port of the Moon in Bordeaux is a significant World Heritage Site covering a large part of the city. It takes its name from its moon-like shape and boasts some of Europe's most exceptional 18th-century architecture, including luxurious mansions constructed by affluent wine merchants. The area is primarily pedestrianized and provides an atmospheric environment for exploration. The district's towering gateways and historic church spires break up the facades of the buildings, which are mostly hotels particuliers.

The imposing Porte Cailhau, which dates back to the 1495 reign of Charles VIII, is a Gothic Revival gate with a castle-like exterior that once served as the main entry point into Bordeaux from the port. The Porte Cailhau is today one of the most popular tourist destinations in Bordeaux, offering panoramic views of the Pont de Pierre.
Very impressive historic monument in Bordeaux. It is a medieval city gate that once served as one of the main entrances to the city. The gate was constructed in the 15th century during the Gothic period and was part of the city's fortifications. It was named after the Cailhau family, who once owned a mansion in the vicinity.

Amazing architecture! Considering that it was built in 1495 as the entrance to the city it's even more amazing that it still stands today. I'll have to come back when it's open so that I can go inside to take advantage of the view. Open or closed it's still a must see. Highly recommend.

AMAZING CITY GATE
This is one of the many city gates that you'll find in Bordeaux. At various times, you can go inside. Easy to find, down the street from the Place de la Bourse, it's pretty cool to walk through.
Great pictures can be taken at any time of the day or night, but be warned - it's usually full of tourists holding up the road trying to take rather unimaginative selfies and the same photos as everyone else.

The Pont Jacques Chaban-Delmas in Bordeaux is a marvel of engineering. As the tallest vertical-lift bridge in Europe, it gracefully lifts its central span to accommodate maritime traffic on the Garonne River. The lifting mechanism, resembling a harmonious ballet, allows large vessels to pass beneath, showcasing a seamless blend of functionality and architectural elegance. Observing the Pont Jacques Chaban-Delmas in action is a testament to human ingenuity and enhances the overall allure of Bordeaux's waterfront.

This bridge is HUGE! I was wondering what those four pillars are while I was still far away but then realized that its a bridge. I've yet to see this one in action like when theres a boat crossing and the bridge will lift 'the road.
There is also a possibility to go up. However, I think you need special permit for that. There were a few people- I think its their field trip, that went to the top. I tried to go with them but was not allowed to.
Greur Bernal — Google review
I was present at the event, when the bridge was raised during the passage of the liner, it was amazingly interesting, it was raining a little, but still people and I looked at this event with pleasure and admiration. I recommend!
Zhanna Shi — Google review
It's a bridge. If you want to get to the other side of the river, this will be important to you. Do note though that a considerable section of this bridge raises by a significant amount (to enable river traffic to also pass to the other side of this bridge), and when raised, your progress to that other side of the river will be hampered. So if the bridge is closed, prepare yourself for either a long wait or a slight detour.

Compared to other boutique hotels in the city, the Chateau Pape Clement offers guests a more lavish stay with a 60 hectare vineyard. The bed and breakfast also offers wine tastings and guided tours of its historic building and wine yards.
The customer service of the entire team was extremely friendly, professional and personalized. We have spent 3 days at the Chateau and enjoyed every moment of it! We didn't stay in a suite, but our room was spacious and luxurious. The room service prices are very reasonable, driving distance from the Chateau to Bordeaux is about 30 min, so I definitely recommend to have a car if you are staying at the Chateau. We are very happy with our stay there!

This hotel seemed more catered to wine tasting from external visitors. There was not even a sign on how to walk to the entrance. For guests, a small wine tasting experience is included, but upon arrival there was not even any room for us as guests to make the wine tasting. It was not a luxury experience at all, unfortunately. Perhaps we were unlucky, but we did not get value for our money at this place. I would not come back and I would not recommend this place for a hotel experience. Perhaps better for just wine tastings. I hope there are better places to stay at a winery in Bordeaux. This left me very disappointed..

We stayed at Chateau Pape Clement for my wife's birthday. We received a very warm welcome and a tour of the Chateau on arrival and were told we should think of it as our home. Our first evening, we had dinner in our room, overlooking the beautiful garden. The next day (my wife's birthday) we'd requested a picnic lunch on the terrace but due to rain it wasn't possible so we were given exclusive use of the living room for our lunch which made us feel the Chateau really was our home. We also enjoyed breakfast and dinner in the dining room during our stay; all meals were delicious, well presented and charmingly served. Our room was very comfortable, quiet and well appointed, we slept well both nights; it could only be improved by the inclusion of some milk for the tea and coffee facility and an iron and ironing board. The bathroom had an excellent shower and lovely Guerlain toiletries. The Chateau is beautiful and the Manager Bertrand, Butler David and the other members of staff are so charming, friendly and hospitable they really do make you feel as at ease and relaxed, as if the Chateau was your home. My wife said she couldn't have had a better birthday. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope we will repeat it in the future.

The property is stunning, the room was large and comfortable with a few of the front gardens. Breakfast was delicious, but the thing that made our stay exceptional was the staff. Maelle greeted us and was warm and informative, she continued to be attentive throughout our stay and made it even more special. David ensures that you know the real meaning behind this chateau and everything that it has to offer. David, you are incredible! The room itself was unbelievable. You feel like a true royalty. Such graceful decorations. I cannot put into words the beauty of this location.

We unfortunately managed to book the French tour by mistake when we don’t speak any French. But the guide was very nice and made sure to summarize everything for us in English so we didn’t miss out on anything. The 20 euros spent were well worth it. We would have payed more than that for the experience we got.
After finishing the tour we were able to buy a bottle of wine and some snacks to enjoy on the property which was the pinnacle of the day. The property is gorgeous!

We took part in the 1h30 visit (1st March 16:30) and really enjoyed it. The location is within reach of Bordeaux centre by public transport (it only takes about 30 mins - 1 hour depending on where you're coming from). We felt immersed in history at this lovely wine chateau. The service was top notch. We appreciated the attentions of Maelle on a Sunday in providing us with a personal tour of the chateau and sharing much engaging history of the winery. Dinner was lovely. As it was a Sunday night, our choices seemed more limited but we enjoyed every moment at our table overlooking the grounds. Breakfast was exceptional. Great tour of the winery included. Our only regret was not purchasing a wine opener as a remembrance of this very special stay.

Did some research and saw this was one of the oldest wine estates in Bordeaux so I wanted to check this out. We did a tour, it was pretty easy to check in, there are a lot of signs that point you to the right direction. At first we check out the outside of the chateau and hotel, hear about the history and then we check out the vineyards briefly. After this we see the process of how wine is made and then how it is barreled. Lastly is a tasting where you try 3 wines, 2 reds and 1 white. Solid tour and they also have a shop to buy wine. They also can ship the bottles to you which is very convenient. Would recommend to others to visit.

We had a great time on our very first vineyard visit, tour, and tasting. We were able to easily get there on the bus from our hotel in the city center of Bordeaux. Our tour guide spoke English very well so we were able to get the full understanding of all the sites and descriptions from the Chateau and vineyard history to the process they use to make their excellent wines. The tasting was very fun and we ended up purchasing a couple of bottles to take back to the hotel. If you are only in Bordeaux for a short trip as we were, definitely take advantage of this close by Grand Cru vineyard.

I booked 'The Four Seasons Tour' and really enjoyed my experience. We were able to visit the Chateau vaults and wine storage / making rooms. Afterwards, there was a wine tasting. I walked around the Chateau grounds by myself before the tour to view the vines (I believe we were unable to tour the vineyard due to a wedding happening). Overall a really good experience.

A One of a Kind Experience. I wish I had made the reservation 10 to 6 months prior. That way, I was going to book three days rather than one. From meeting us at the front of the Chateau on arrival to loading our luggage in the rental car, the staff did an excellent job, the Chateau is close to Bordeaux, and the atmosphere is second to none. I was so peaceful, enjoying a glass of Chateau Pape Cement wine in front of the Chateau, starting at the two-hundred-year-old cedar tree and the ancient vines. I will go back.
Fernando Avian — Google review
Overall, the wineyard and chateau was very beautiful and we took a lot of beautiful pictures. Our tour guide explained everything well. However, there are a few things that could be improved upon:
Our wine tasting experience was suboptimal, because our glasses were smaller than others in the group. The level of wine we got was the same compared to others with bigger glasses. Hence, we got less wine compared to the others.
Parts of the tour took place directly under sunlight and it was a very hot day. We stood for a good 15 min under sunlight while listening to the tour guide. Some discretion could be practiced, such as maximising our time at the shade during the explanation followed by time for those who want to take pictures under direct sunlight.
The wine tasting room could have been cooler, the air conditioning does not seemed to be switched on.
The tour guide was making up information about how the vineyard was watered. From our previous tours, we know that it is the regulation not to use irrigation on the vineyards in Bordeaux. However, she did not know about this, and said that the vineyards were irrigated with water spray.

Wow wow wow!!! We stayed at Chateau Pape Clement for 3 nights, ate at the restaurant, and did the tour & tasting. From the moment you arrive, you are made to feel so very welcome. We were received by Davide, who was so very wonderful, passionate, and knowledgeable about the chateau. He welcomed us with glasses of delicious wine and then took us on a tour of passion, explaining all the famous pieces of art that decorate every corner of the chateau.
The room itself was perfectly cozy, comfortable and complete with a written welcome letter from Bernard Margrez painting his policy of "make yourself at home". It truly feels like you are walking into an existing and lived-in 18th century chateau and are part of the family. You are lulled to sleep every night by the faint sound of classical music being played from the lobby. Every morning, there is even a delicious breakfast waiting for you.
All the staff are excellent, they spare no expense to make sure you feel like royalty.
The dinner was excellent as well, we ended up cancelling reservations in the city to dine at Pape Clement a second night.
We easily put Pape Clement among the best places we have ever stayed.

We loved the dinner at chateau, crystal & silver tableware, very intimate and privet atmosphere, delicious food, wine and top service. In the morning we enjoyed breakfast in the room and in the afternoon we had our wine tour & tasting. Haven't seen more luxurious winery.

The four seasons tour itself was fine, nothing special tbh. We did another tour the day after which was amazing. The chateau itself is beautiful.
Wine was delicious but the tasting room was just not in keeping with the chateau. You have a space which is full of history and the tasting room looks out of an IKEA catalogue. Also please make sure if u have groups of 3 u set the tables for tasting accordingly. I was with a friend, 2 of us, and we were asked to sit on different tables. If we are together we want to enjoy the tasting together and to see the host being annoying to have to prep another table when is not my fault, it's making the whole experience even less enjoyable.

This review is for a one night's stay as well as the guided wine tour. Specifically, this is from a perspective of an English speaking person.
TLDR:
Do not stay here if you are primarily English speaking and don't have your own car
Specifics
- Check in was smooth and grounds speaker spoke English.
- However, we were dropped off at the entrance by a cab, and there was no one helping us with our bags. So we walked about four blocks with our bags trying to find the entrance in the rain.
- Restaurant is no longer open, so we had to venture out in the rain by ourselves to find dinner.
- The grounds keeper told us that we need to call the chateau to be let back in after dinner. But we are international travelers and don't have international calling - so stuck outside after dinner until we found the gate with a code (so glad I took a photo of the code)
- When we returned after dinner, someone had gone into our room and rearranged all our items, even though we placed a do not disturb sign on the door.
-Breakfast was meh: some charcuteria, small portion of scrambled eggs and coffee. There was one person (new groundskeeper who did not speak english) trying to figure out breakfast and take care of checkins and checkouts.
- Checkout was a nightmare. It was pouring and so I called a cab. This groundskeeper could not speak english, so she could not give me directions for the cab driver. She finally spoke with the cab driver when he called me, but he charged us an additional $25 to figure his way into the grounds.
- Saving the best for last- the wine tour. Despite staying at the Chateau, the groundskeeper asked us to find the tour on our own in the rain. I went back in and asked her to show us after 15 minutes of walking around in the rain. To make matters worse, our guide was sick with a respiratory viral illness but continued to tour us through poorly ventilated spaces, and brushed off any questions she didn't like.
I will never ever stay here again. And in no way is this a luxury wine experience.

The Grand-Théâtre de Bordeaux is a neoclassical opera house in the city of Bordeaux, built in 1780. The structure features a number of Corinthian columns and a monumental staircase which served as an inspiration for the Paris Opera by Charles Garnier. Every September - next June, famous operas are performed here in Europe. To get tickets to these performances, one must purchase them through an annual card which costs around 15 euros per seat.
Impressive building in the heart of the city. If you wanna watch a show, you better book a ticket in advance.

Close to the quays, rue Sainte-Catherine, Allées Tournis, Place Gambetta and the pedestrian and restaurant area of the capital of Aquitaine. The ascent provides a unique perspective on Bordeaux's architectural beauty and surrounding landscapes. However, it's worth noting that the stairway leading to the top is quite narrow, which may pose a challenge for those less comfortable with confined spaces. Despite the narrow stairs, the unparalleled views from the tower make the experience memorable and offer a fascinating glimpse into the historical and contemporary charm of Bordeaux.

233 steps to reach the top of the tower. Quite a walk... And the passage is super narrow. But the view of Bordeaux at the top is amazing !!!

Great place to observe Bordeaux from the top. Free for EU citizen, the steps were very narrow but pretty safe. Be mindful of the opening hour, it was close on lunchtime and after 5 PM.

Steep walk up a spiral staircase to be rewarded with the stunning view of Bordeaux! Fascinating to learn about the big bells too! Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. We had the City Pass (highly recommended) and we popped in to book to go up a couple of hours later.

Ready to climb up the 233 steps of the helical stairs leading up to one of the most spectacular views on Bordeaux? This is the place to be!! For a small price you get to see the biggest bells in the belltower (one of 8 tons and heavier than the bells in the cathedral), the most beautiful views and history of this beautiful city on top of it. Really friendly welcoming!

It’s definitely worth taking the 233 steps up the tower. Good view over the city

1st terrace on 40m after 184 steps,
2nd terrace on 50m after 232 steps.
A little bit breathtaking to step up trough narrow round stairs but you can see Bordeaux’s beautiful landscapes of town from there.

From the outside quite nice but didn’t go up.
9 euros to do a 233 steps is a joke sorry.
Maybe we should stop monetising everything.
Stefano Costa — Google review
Costs 6 EUR, but you need an allotted time slot. Something like 233 steps. It was quite busy. A good view of the cathedral and across the rooftops of the city.
In comparison, the similar bell tower in St Emilion is 2 EUR. 196 steps up, with great views from the very top. Nobody else was in there at the time.

If you're under 26, you can visit it for free! Amazing view of Bordeaux, but reaching the top may be quite exhausting because of all the steps!

The Pey Berland Tower offers a fantastic opportunity to enjoy a panoramic view of Bordeaux from the top. The narrow spiral staircase makes it fun as you navigate your way, skillfully crossing other visitors on the stairs. It's like a little puzzle to figure out, making the ascent all the more interesting. Plus, you get a mini workout in the process.
As you make your way up, there are stops with windows that allow you to catch your breath and some scenery along the way. The view only gets better with each step, and once you reach the top, the panoramic view of Bordeaux unfold before your eyes. The architecture of the Tower is equally captivating, a striking Gothic design, elegant spire, and intricate details. The tower's historical significance and architectural beauty add another layer to the overall experience.
Église Notre-Dame la Grande is a remarkable Romanesque Catholic church from the 11th century. The interior of the church is adorned with striking painted columns and walls, while the stained-glass windows add to its beauty. In addition to its architectural splendor, the church also hosts a vibrant farmers market on Saturdays. The Traversees\Kimsooja series of events further adds to its allure through illuminations by Solarescope and live organ music performances in the choir loft.
Simply beautiful Notre-Dame-la-Grande with 11th century church with painted columns and because it’s Saturday when I went here, a nice farmers market in the vicinity of the church!

We found Our Lady the Great (Notre-Dame la Grande) to be a beautiful eleventh century church. This is a Romanesque design so it is much darker inside compared with the later gothic cathedrals. The interior is also filled beautifully painted support columns. This is a really impressive thousand year old church.
Louis and Elaine — Google review
An impressive church both due to its age and architecture, different from other churches due to its darkness

Wonderfully preserved, beautiful old church - exterior and interior. Amazing painted pillars, decorated side chapel ceilings and stained glass. We had the extra joy of a solo with organ rehearsal. Free entry, short walk from Hotel de ville. Quiet as no market on a Monday

Such a beautiful church, loved all the small details on the pillars, the statues and the paintings, beyond extraordinary.

A very ancient church, medium sized but contains a lot of history with beautiful stained glass and painted ceilings. Located in the heart of the old Poitiers village. Very quaint.

A truly inspiring and profoundly spiritual place. Fascinating for me because I discovered a connection between here and the 12thC Ardmore Cathedral in Co. Waterford in Ireland - near where I live. Adam and Eve.

Visited this church as part of the Traversées\Kimsooja series of events in Poitiers. Beautiful Romanesque structure inside and out, made extra special by Kimsooja's Solarescope illuminations and by the organ player practicing in the choir loft.

This is a jewel of an old church dating back to the eleventh century, the beautifully painted columns and interior walls are quite stunning.
The Pont de Pierre is a stone bridge that connects the left and right banks of the city of Bordeaux, France. Completed in 1822 under Napoleon 1, it is one of the most iconic bridges in all of France and provides stunning views of the city with the river in the foreground.
From french it's name measn Stone bridge. Despite that, the bridge is built mainly out of bricks and not stone. It has 17 arches (according to the legend the number of letters in the name 'Napoléon Bonaparte') who issued the construction to help his troops cross the river more quickly when going towards Spain. Connecting the left and right banks of the Garrone, this is the first bridge ever built in Bordeaux. It is used by tram, cars and pedestrians.
Nikola Hristov — Google review
Worth to see that water is yellow in Garrona. Nice place for taking a walk and/or run. Not too crowded by cars. Mainly public traffic and a lot of tourist. Good place to take a nice picture of Bordeaux river side.

A historical bridge in Bordeaux.. and the quiet city life nicely positioned around it is not bad. fine for short walks and taking pictures. public transport is just above it.

If you get a chance, visit this 487 meters long bridge at night, the lighting is amazing during the late hours.

Nice stone bridge to walk along and cross the river. Easily accessible and the tram also crosses this bridge. A nice open space at the other end of the bridge with some cafes around. Ample space to walk or jog or cross by bike and also vehicles crosses the bridge. In December it was very cold!!

Historical bridge across the river but water is very muddy.
-" Have some morning fleet market trades by migrants during our walk along the river !

This is one of Bordeaux’s most historic landmarks commissioned by Napoleon and finished after his death. It is beautiful day or night and lovely to walk across as the tide rushes in or out. The 17 arches are for the the letters in Napoleon’s full name. It’s popular with runners because the traffic is limited.

A historical bridge in Bordeaux which if you go on it you can get beautiful views of the river and city.

This bridge caught my attention while i was walking near the river. It looked really nice. Its a long walk but i get to enjoy the view and the people who were there as well.
You can also see the current's strength of the river and it looks very scary. Viewed from a distance, the autumn leaves adds more beauty especially if seen from an angle.

18 arches, Le pont de pierre is lit up at night and ferries trams, scooters and pedestrians throughout the day. But not cars! A busy road, it will take you over to la bastide where you can visit Darwin Ecosystem and other neighbourhoods in bordeaux

"Dinosaures Parc" offers a fun day out for young kids with its dinosaur-themed attractions and cool dinosaur models. The park's cleanliness and reasonably priced food and drinks make it an enjoyable experience for visitors. However, some historical inaccuracies, worn-out appearance, and limited payment options are noted as drawbacks. Overall, the park is recommended for anyone who loves dinosaurs or is looking for a good time with kids.
Super fun place to take anyone who loves dinosaurs🦖🦕
Jeffrey Edwards — Google review
The attractions are not dinosaur-themed at all and the park looks a bit worn. It's clean, though, and the dinosaur models are pretty cool. The cavemen are a historical innacuracy.

nicely set up. very very small.
our children were ready after half an hour.
And considering the price dam also not recommended.
price is definitely not in relation to what you get.
At the start we are also explicitly informed that smoking is not allowed in the park.
Staff are standing at the entrance of attractions with e-smokers...
where is the logic

Good park to spend an afternoon. Puts on good show for kids. There are little electric quad bikes that each child gets a ticket for on entry to the park. They get 4 or 5 times round a small track. Food for sale is like frozen microwave stuff. At least the burger and the "Manhattan" hot dog that we had were.. The bread on the hot dog was like eating half cured expanding foam. Sells ice-cream popcorn etc.. food prices for hot food a bit to high though for what it is, small selection and no fries on offer..... All of the larger dinosaurs were static, though I noticed they were animated machines.. maybe would scare the little ones if they were on ?.The smaller animated dinosaurs were switched on with accompanying sound effects (roars movement etc) triggered by infra red detectors in the grass as you walk past on the trail... nice picnic area with little train on small circular track nearby. Has 4 or 5 bouncy castles, palaeontology sandpit and a small maze..Well maintained clean site. My impression was this was a family run affair.. two of the staff did not speak French of the 5 or six that we saw. Though they were very polite. Teenagers would be bored if not interested in seeing animated dinosaurs.. as park is orientated towards small children which it entertains very well.. gets four stars for attraction, two only for food....

This park is very much aimed at children up to the age of 10-12. Lots of dinosaurs in the park and even a separate section with dragons. Some maintenance is required here and there.
The "attractions" are limited, a roller coaster, a train, a whirligig.
The entrance fee was not too bad, if you don't really have to drive and if the children fall into the target group then it is ok.

Good for younger kids 7 and under I would say, fun quiz in the maze and puzzle on the walk around the site, bouncy castles and mini quad included but it doesn't take long to do everything only a few hours at max. Shows are only in French.

Good fun for a kid. On the negative side doesn't take credit or debit cards.

Great day out for young kids. All rides are included in the price. Food and drinks reasonably priced. Our 3 year old really enjoyed it.

Doesn't take debit/credit cards. Cash (and possibly cheque) only. A nice run around for younger kids. 9/10 years + might turn their eyes up at it. The quads are a good experience for young kids and they can blow off plenty of energy on the bouncy castles. Staff nice

Our kids were a little old and the dinosaurs are in need of a refresher. The entry fee was low and there's lots to do. Just a little dated but worth and afternoon visit.
Stuart Craine — Google review
We were there on the day the government made pass sanitaire mandatory. So the place was not crowded. The models/statutes of the dinosaurs move and make noise. They are nice. They are not to scale, of course.
The kids liked the trip. There are some rides and game area for the kids that the kids liked.
There are many inflatable castles (châteaux gonflables) so thé kids had fun on them. There is a place where the kids can dig for faux-fossils.
The dragon parc inside was nice as well. Très sympa.
There is a eatery inside where you can buy food. Outside food is allowed. We had taken a picnic. The eatery accepts card payment.
Though the pamphlets say that cards are not allowed for payment, we saw the cashier accepting credit/debit cards while buying tickets.
Overall the parc is alright.
