Uetliberg is a mountain peak in the city of Zurich, Switzerland with stunning panoramic views of the surrounding area. The hiking trails up to the peak are well known and loved by locals and tourists alike for their beauty and peace. In the afternoon, you can take a Limmat River Cruise through Zurich's Old Town (Altstadt) to see sights beyond mere terrestrial reality.
One of the most beautiful views of Zürich. It’s a 1 km trek after getting down from the train but make sure to have strong grip shoes to trek as there’s a lot of ice which might be difficult to walk through

If you're looking for a 360° View over Zürich, then you must visit this spot.
Also several Hiking trails are available, the scenery and nature are so beautiful, and you can have a quick lunch (some food stands offer super delicious Swiss Würst with the authentic kartoffelsalat) or you can eat at the Uto Kulm restaurant and enjoy some raclette / fondue.

Beautiful mountain peak with wonderful views from Zurich and its surroundings.
We were lucky to get a little bit of snow during the night. Once we got there early in the morning we still could see some flakes on the trees.
This place has stunning views and it is very easy to reach by train or by one of the several hiking trails available.
At the top you have a hotel, restaurant and toilets are available.
Highly recommend.

We hiked approximately 11.5 miles roundtrip from Zurich City Center to Uetliberg. It was worth the visit and had amazing views of the city and the alps along the way. We had coffee and snack in a restaurant at the top. Walking up the tower was worthwhile though it was very windy when we went since there was a storm coming.

An absolute must do when visiting Zurich. A stunning view and easy to access by train or if you have the time there are lovely trails all the way to the top.

My visit to Uetliberg in Zurich was an absolute delight that left me rejuvenated and in awe of nature's beauty. This serene mountain getaway is a must-visit for anyone seeking breathtaking views and a tranquil escape from the bustling city life.
The journey to Uetliberg was an adventure in itself. The well-marked trails and picturesque surroundings made the hike enjoyable even for novice hikers like me. As I ascended, I was treated to ever-expanding panoramas of the city and the surrounding landscape. The sight of Lake Zurich and the distant Alps was truly a feast for the eyes.
Upon reaching the summit, I was greeted by a panoramic view that took my breath away. The observation tower provided a 360-degree vantage point, allowing me to soak in the beauty of Zurich from a bird's-eye perspective. The vibrant colors of the changing seasons only added to the allure of the landscape.
Uetliberg is also a haven for nature enthusiasts. The well-maintained trails are perfect for hiking, jogging, and even mountain biking. I encountered a diverse range of flora and fauna along the way, making it a great spot for photography and wildlife observation.
The tranquility of Uetliberg is truly remarkable. The serene atmosphere and fresh mountain air provided a much-needed escape from the daily grind. It's a place where you can disconnect from technology and immerse yourself in the beauty of the natural world.
Whether you're a nature lover, an adventure seeker, or simply looking for a peaceful retreat, Uetliberg has something to offer. It's a gem that showcases the harmony between urban and natural landscapes. My experience here was nothing short of magical, and I highly recommend Uetliberg to anyone looking for an unforgettable outdoor experience in Zurich.

I hiked up to Uetliberg from city center. Absolutely lovely hike, loved the trails up to the top. I took the train down to Zurich HB. There are great views all throughout the trails of nature and Zurich. The trail did have a lot of stairs and some steepness but a relatively easy trail with a little elevation.

There are various paths to get to Uetliberg with different difficulties. It is suitable for everyone and a perfect activity for families.
Enjoy the view of Zurich at the top while enjoying the snacks and ice cream on offer. Toilets are also available here.

Near to Zürich by train, a nice location to escape from the usual sightseeing. We were welcomed by a nice view and a freezing cold wind. The access to the tower was 2CHF and takes you to the top to gaze the surrounding valleys and mountains.

A beautiful place with breathtaking views of Zurich and the Alps. In winter a fairytale snowy landscape and sledding fun for the whole family and in summer a popular destination for athletes and nature lovers. Accessible only on foot or by public transport. About 10 minutes on foot from the Uetlibergbahn to the observation tower.

Absolutely fantastic mountain to walk upto . There is a simple walk route, one train route and one little wild but super exciting route .
Totally loved the experience of going up on a nice warm summer day

Must-see to visit when being in Zurich. Only 25 minutes from Zurich HB to get there and the view is amazing!
Also, it’s nice to take a walk in the mountain to explore some paths.

The hike up is really nice, not only in summer but also in the winter time. There are many paths and different ways to go to the top. You can even go by train. The views are amazing. There is a very nice restaurant on top and a stall where you can buy drink, even cocktails and fast food. Strongly recommended.

Been at the top a couple of times already. The hike is not strenuous and it gives partial views of the Alps, which is super nice. We usually do the hike from the city center and that takes about one hour and a half.
At the top, you can buy beer and use the restroom. The views from up there are spectacular.

Very cool viewpoint over Zurich and the lake. When the weather is clear enough you see the mountains far away.
Some food is there, a bit pricey, but well, they know that a bunch of people come hungry to the top.
Some places to sit and chill are there also.
It’s about 500m up from Zurich city, and you have several kind of paths leading up, so there’s a bit for everyone. And if yours lazy or tired or unfit, you can also come by train!
Ptitsuisse — Google review
A great place to see Zurich and Alps from the height. We’ve made a hike up there (from hbf and it’s very exhausting) and it was kind of a Swiss weekend experience for us. Up there there are a lot of spaces to see and enjoy the view.
In winter it was also a Christmas market still so you can enjoy some drinks and food.
The aperol is for 14,5 CHF and the tea for 4,5, the Raclette was delicious for 15 CHF.
Go up the the view tower and enjoy 360 view of surroundings - windy but totally worth it.

It's a mountain with great views.
You can get a train to near the top, then it's a 10 minute steep walk up.
We were lucky as the woman working at the hotel at the top gave my daughter and her wheelchair a lift up which was very appreciated.
The hotel up there looked nice and staff were friendly.
Great views, which is what we went up for.

Great train ride up to the top. The view from the tower was fantastic. A couple of restaurants and a hotel are at the top. Lots of Christmas Market stands.

Nice place to hike up to to have a Birds Eye view of Zurich. The tower requires a 2chf payment; of which card payment was not functioning when I was there.
The view at the top was nonetheless lovely.
The Kunsthaus Zürich is a major art museum with a European collection dating back to the 15th century. It also has temporary exhibits, and is home to some of the most famous works of art in history by masters like Claude Monet, Pablo Picasso, Alberto Giacometti and Vincent van Gogh. The Swiss National Museum is an important stop for anyone wanting to gain basic knowledge about Switzerland and its people.
One of my favorite places to visit in Zurich. Amazing construction are my first words. Staff and employees at the highest level. A real home of art. I have visited too many places like this, but here I was very positively surprised. I would rate the current program with the highest marks. The part dedicated to Yoko Ono to be experienced is not told. The price is adjusted to the standard of the state and the city. If you are a student you get a discount on a ticket. According to the information I received there, Wednesday is a day when admission is free. The room with the lights is fantastic, would it be good to write a real fantasy. My rating is 10/10. A real experience.

Absolutely fantastic art museum in Zurich. Huge collections of Impressionist and modern art which are my personal favorite styles. They have several rotating exhibits which are worth visiting, but do not miss the permanent collections either! Highly recommend this museum, I would come back next time I am in town. Easy to spend 2-3 hours or more there.

This museum blew my mind away. You really need more than one day to absorb and delight in both the exhibits and the private collections. Take your time and if you need a respite they have a fantastic shop and a cool restaurant to gather your thoughts. A must when visiting Zurich.

Impressive collection from famous artists and from different artistics periods. I found it trick to walk without getting lost due to my inability to read the map. There is also an underground tunnel to access the other part of the museum, which I found quite interesting. Highly recommended for those who are visiting Zurich.

Massive collection of enormous cultural influence and value. Impressionist and post-impressionist galore. Elegant museum building with lots of air and light. I visited Kunsthaus over the weekend, and was pleasantly surprised that it was not crowded. According to Kunsthaus website, on Wednesdays admission is free. Visit to the Kunsthaus makes for a delightful day to remember and cherish. To everyone at Kunsthaus: thank you!

If it's your first time to Zurich and interested in fine arts, it is the must-come place for sure! Very elegant design of exhibition movements, and it's super cozy and elegant to hang around the exhibitions! Almost no border with the world famous paintings! And the best part is that it's much less crowded than some other major city museums!

I can't explain what a special experience this is. A big and very impressive collection of art to rival most other cities - but without the crowds. I spent a whole day there, and I'd love to go back for more! What an incredible collection of Alberto Giacometti! My highlight was the glass/light/sound room. ❤️

What a great art museum! They have the largest collection of dada pieces in the world making in a exceptional experience if you follow that movement. There are many pieces from classic painters such as Picasso, Monet, Manet, Munch, Rembrandt, and more. There are two museum buildings across the street from each other which you can reach by crossing the street or by using the underground tunnel. Backpacks must be checked, photography is allowed, and the museum is free on Wednesdays except for the special rotating exhibit. Expect to spend 2-3 hours perusing the paintings.

I spent around 5 hours seeing exhibitions in 2 buildings which are connected with underground passage. The ticket was 29 CHF, expensive but definitely worth the money. The collection was amazing and inspiring... If you appreciate art, this is a must visit.

It is a beautiful and large museum, it is a pleasure to visit it. Its collection is very wide and diverse. You can see the works of artists of many different styles such as Monet, Picasso, Cezanne, Münch, Rodin, Chagall, Van Gogh, Andy Warhol, Alberto Giacometti. You can especially find some of Picasso's early paintings here. There are also exhibitions about modern art. The museum consists of two buildings and are connected by an underground passage. You can leave your belongings in the cloakroom with lockers at the entrance. Depending on your interest, you can spend half a day or a day here.

First time I visit it I was impressed despite being only a little boy, today the impression was even bigger , not only trough the age but also trough the new building which is a well done architectural project study to bring a lot of day light inside the building. The collection is wonderfull dispite the open / complicated topic... but atleast people are talking about it and this is already positive. A place to visit for art and arch. lovers

An excellent Museum all around! I wouldn't miss this even if you only have a day in Zurich. The building itself is an incredible work by David Chipperfield who is a pritzker prize winner and one of the best minimalist architects of our time. The collection is very high end for the size of museum it is. Even if you're a casual art viewer you will likely recognize a number of paintings from Van Gogh, Monet, Picasso and many others. I highly recommend it. Can be done in only a few hours.

The pinnacle of capitalist art collection. Absolutely stunning pieces of art, exhibited in not less stunning interiors. The space and air given to the art works really underlines their impact. Of course, this whole complex is a manifestation of what 400 years of capital accumulation can lead to - a temple of capitalism, embodied by thousands of precious relics.

Very incredible collection of art despite some controversy about the collectors history. I spent 2 hours but started rushing through the second building. I’d recommend 3-4 for a in-depth visit.
The Altstadt Hotel is a relaxed accommodation option that offers complimentary breakfast and Wi-Fi. Although the rooms may be small, they are cozy and clean, perfect for those who want to stay in the heart of Zurich's old town.
The Altstadt Hotel is a little gem conveniently located a stone's throw from the cathedral. One can walk to the hotel from the train station, along the Limmat. I had the absolute privilege of staying at the Altstadt Hotel this past week. Every single aspect of my stay was amazing.
The service was immediately perfect at the front desk, being extremely helpful with suggestions, tips, and extremely caring welcoming staff.
The room I was in, Comfort Cozy, wasn’t extremely spacious, but had plenty of room for two people. The point of your trip usually isn’t to be in the hotel room anyways… Everything was well taken care of and beautiful. There were no issues at all during my stay and housekeeping did an excellent job.
The breakfast was spot on, and had lots of great choices… the bread was beyond anything I had expected and the cheeses and meats were fresh.
Thank you for a great stay, and I will 100% stay here again!

The Zurich Zoologischer Garten (Zoo Zurich) is a zoo located in Zurich, Switzerland. It has more than 370 animal species in themed habitats and is among the most ethical zoos in the world. The Kaeng Krachan Elephant Park, which features part of an Indian elephant habitat that is in a modern biome, is especially impressive.
The zoo is huge with a huge variety of shops and stores, I’ve seen all age groups having outstanding time in here, plan accordingly so you can see everything out there and try every theme shop / coffeeshop. They have this amazing diner next to the Giraffes it’s just Awesome! A must go!

Very nice facilities, beautiful paths. Quite a lot to see and can take a while going around this place. Several gastronomic facilities, a places to eat inside (very interesting Thai corner).
It is very good organize and friendly for the kids. There is so many playground inside, real fun for the kids.
Just a small remark is that there are usually no parking spaces nearby, the host provided enough parking spaces some 1.2 km away from the ZOO itself and organized a shuttle bus that transports visitors to the ZOO and back.
And you can use public transport, both the bus and the tram itself.

Zurich Zoo is a great place for animal and nature enthusiasts. The bird aviaries offer a fascinating experience as birds fly freely in spacious enclosures, showcasing their vibrant plumage and graceful flight patterns. The giraffe exhibit is impressive, and their majestic presence is captivating. The big room with trees and animals provides an immersive environment, giving visitors a sense of being in a natural setting. The zoo's commitment to spacious and comfortable habitats for the animals is commendable, making it an educational and enjoyable destination to learn about wildlife and conservation. 🐦🦒🌳🐾

Despite the relatively cold weather most animals looked happy and thriving. Not the greatest variety of animals to see but the still a fun place to visit especially with the kids. The large greenhouse was an experience by itself, but when I opened the last door I found myself out of the zoo and had to walk back to the entrance! Good thing that I kept my tickets. tramline 6 has a final stop that is a five minute walk from the zoo.

Really nice Zoo, we went there after lunchtime (15:00) and there were no queues and it was super quick to get in.
The park was not too crowded at this time either, which in turn gave us a really nice experience as well.
I think this may be the reason many of the animals did not hide, so it was nice to be able to see so many of them!
After we walked through the full park, we treated ourselves a mini-safari-train back!

This is a wonderful place, but it’s probably better to call it not a zoo, but a natural park where there are animals. Of course, I understand everything perfectly well, animals need space, they need a natural environment, but half of the animals are not visible because they are hiding... but in principle, honestly, I was satisfied today

My favourites were the elephants and gorillas. The gift shops and restaurants were good to.

Despite winter time we really enjoyed the day in Zoo.
Highlight was for us Penguin Parade at 13:30. It can be seen daily from November to February on days when temperature drop below 10 degrees. To be sure it is better to check on Zoo's website.
Some of the animals were hidden or sleeping, but I was surprised how many of them we saw outside despite freezing weather.
If you buy tickets online you get a small discount and you will avoid a queue at the cash desk.

One of the best zoo’s ever. Great to go in the winter as most exhibits are indoors and heated. Animals look VERY healthy and there are plenty of activities outside the exhibits like a cinematic panoramic presentation near the exit and an occasional llama/donkey parade.
Even if you’re not in to animals, if you wanna break from the cold Rainey days the indoor exhibits are a winter tropical vacation!

The beating heart of Zurich. It is a very calm and relaxing place, but very windy and cold in winter, so be careful and wear something heavy. The water is almost transparent. You can see the bottom of the lake clearly. There are a couple of good restaurants too.

The organization of the work was very well conceived and executed, and the building along with the grounds are worthy of experiencing just on their own merits. What a building! I viewed a special exhibit on Jainism and it touched me deeply. I will say I was also struck by the frequent mention of colonialism and exploitation in the acquisition of many of the marvelous works we were viewing. It is not a healing but it is an acknowledgment and that is sn important first step.

I never thought I would ever say these words about a museum, but I actually found it not worth the money and rather boring. I had the Zürich pass so I had a discount; but it honestly wasn’t worth that still in my opinion. I was in and out in about 10 minutes and was just expecting more.
The path also takes forever, so I recommend paying attention to the right hand side and climbing up the stone stairs I’ve attached a picture of. It saves you time and you’re right next to the museum then instead of trekking uphill some more.

Reviewing the place for the awesome small cafe that they have. We visited the cafe in summer wanting to try their picnic offer, but did not realise that you'll need to book at least 3 days before.
The lady at the counter probably saw how disappointed we were and offered a picnic basket and mat for us, with the pastries and sandwiches on display, so we can have a pseudo 'picnic'. Really appreciate her going beyond her duty to make our experience better.
The sandwiches and dessert were also absolutely delicious, and we enjoyed ourselves immensely with our first summer picnic experience in Switzerland. Highly recommend it but remember to book three days in advance!

One of my favourite museums in Switzerland. Located in a beautiful park. Not too big, not too small. Priceless collection.

This is a fantastic museum made up of terrific exhibits in two buildings. In the main building, everything is below ground (except the ticket counter, shop, and cloakroom). The works of art are arranged by geographical region although there is no strict barrier so from African art you progress seemlessly to Japanese art, etc. Not to be missed in the second building is a section dedicated to Faschnacht masks. Additionally, in the main building, there is a section that has some of their inventory in view.
The one thing to keep in mind is that it’s impossible to avoid a bit of an uphill walk no matter which direction you come from (it’s a bit less if you come from north though).

A charming museum with interesting global exhibitions.
The lady at the gift store and ticket office is the best thing about the museum. She is inviting and so cheerful and knowledgable.
The gift shop is EXTRAORDINARY. Currently there are amazing, amazing items from Japan. It is the best curated museum gift store in Zurich for sure!
I did not find the Kimono exhibition as exceptional as it could have been but that could be due to the fact that I lived in Japan and have seen them in real life.

I've been happy to come back to this ethnographic/non-European art museum in Zurich and enjoyed my second visit so it's a good sign :)
The historical building is nice and so is the garden surrounding the building.
The exhibition spaces are underground, but the space is nice and pleasant to walk around.
Good display of the collection ; and it's the second time I see a temporary exhibition here, and they were both beautiful and interesting (on Japanese art and this time on Jainism).
It's been quite calm for both my visit even if it was the weekend.

Natural History Museum of the University of Zurich
The University of Zurich's Zoological Museum is a large and well-maintained museum with exhibits on both animal models and interactive displays. It also has a welcome attraction operated by the university, the Zoological Museum. The museum has specimens from the universitys palaeontology museum, making it an interesting place for people interested in natural history.
Free entrance. Worth to visit! Beautiful exhibition with so many animals and fossils.
It's so clean and staff is really kind and professional. They don't work on Mondays. Other days opened from 10 to 17. Don't miss this place!

Probably not worth a special visit (unless you have children) but made a nice pop-in on the way to a viewpoint.

The Zoological Museum in Zurich is easily accessible by tram. Entrance to the museum is free. The Zoological Museum is very suitable for children as it has many areas where children can see what the many animals look like and it also has headphones to hear the different animal sounds. It also has a large area where many fossilized dinosaurs can be seen.

I visited the place on the weekend and there was no queue. You'll find numerous of animals, birds, dinosaurs, fishes and other wild animal sculptures inside the museum.
There is no entry fee for the museum and you can definitely add it to your list when you visit Zurich.
I've attached the most of the remains and sculpture pictures and I had an amazing experience. You are definitely going to love it if you have little interest in history and zoology.

A day well spent there.. i love it generally but love the "Masterpieces, artwork of natures" exhibit the most.. its a true art of nature and the fact that its combining nature and art is very smart and a creative move.. the museum can also be very crowded and noisy on weekends i guess.. visited on a saturday and its jammed packed with families with kids.. i can tell why kids love to be there, its a good way to explore and understands nature for them.
And also its FREE.. 👍👍👍
Downside is as a tourist, cant pay any souvenir by card, as of Feb 2023, everything there is needed to be paid by cash.

This museum is perfect for teaching children while having fun. Many interactive activities to enjoy. Free entrance. A large parking lot is very close, in a small park on the main road. Once here, after the visit, I suggest to spend some time at the nearby terrace, to enjoy a great view of the city. If you come by public transport, then it's worth to ride the funicular whose station is at the terrace. Children would love that. And also most of the grown ups.
The River Limmat in Zurich offers a picturesque setting for various activities. Visitors can feed swans along its banks or enjoy a drink while marveling at architectural wonders such as Fraumunster and Grossmunster. The river is also crossed via the Bahnhofbrucke bridge, which leads to Starbucks and the Polybahn cog-railway that takes passengers up to ETH University.

Zurich Opera House is easily reachable by Tram nos 2 and 4.
We were lucky enough to pre-book tickets for a guided tour of the Zurich Opera. The tour started at 4PM and lasted an hour.
The tour was quite informative starting from the history of the building, the baroque style architecture, the fast track construction of this imposing building etc.
The guide took us to the Main theatre, the stage, the store rooms, the dressing rooms and to the conductors room to give an overall feel of this enticing structure.
The main theatre had an impressive baroque style architecture with carved features, gilded highlights and Trompe L'oeil paintings and a very vibrant lighting set up.
Enjoyed every bit of this well panned out tour and the majestic interiors

Be careful what seat you buy! I bought an inexpensive seat for a ballet performance. I don't remember the website saying if my view would be blocked, but it was! Completely blocked! A big waste of 15 CHF (25~ CAD).
The angle of the seats no doubt makes many of them completely useless, if you want to SEE the stage. I even spoke to a manager to complain, and she said some of the seats are just for listening. Well that's fine for an opera performance, but not a ballet! The seat I had shouldn't have existed, it was so bad.
I left within 2 minutes of the performance starting because there was no point in staying. My ticket does not say that it is a 'listening-only' seat either, so I was very disappointed and let-down.

First walk around the lake bed for some time to have a fresh Breeze and then select a place to sit /lay down and have a small talk , relax and have a drink with some snack as there are many tuck shops in and around.
The best one is to have a gelato/ice cream.

Probably one of the most popular public parks in Zurich, where you can find throngs of people swimming along the shoreline or just relaxing on picnic mats in their swimsuit during the summer. Ice cream carts offer a sweat treat for the summer sun, while you can people watch as you walk along the park. The Chinese Garden, cafes and a house display add to the uniqueness that is of this park.

Speaking of unique experiences, I was lucky enough to witness the blooming of a titan arum, one of the world's biggest flowers during one of my visits. We love the Bahnhofstrasse! Every time when we visited Zurich, we would always dropped by the Bahnhofstrasse!
This long shopping street is in the heart of Zurich, it runs through from North to South, which begins from the train station & end at the edge of the Zurich lake.
Being one of the most expensive shopping streets in Europe & the main commercial hub in Zurich, you would be surprised that you could still find many shops that are very affordable for normal people, I.e. H&M, Adidas, Nike...etc. The closer to the lake, the more expensive they are. (i.e. lined with upmarket shops selling jewelleries or Rolax...etc.) There are also serval lovely but very affordable restaurants located on the side streets along Bahnhofstrasse.
The street is always very clean and there are tramlines running along it. It is very easy to walk & we love it!

Fancy street with lots of expensive stores, watches and chocolate. Worth the visit!
Fraumünster Church is a beautiful and historic church with delicately designed copper spire. The stained glass windows by Marc Chagall are well-known attractions, as are the impressive tombs of the Princes of Saxony. It's also home to a gorgeous rose window created by Augusto Giacometti in 1945.
A serene church with a tranquil aura is what Framunster Church is for me. Even though its famous for its stained glass windows, its the organ that amazed me. A soul soothing song 's been played all the time, when I was in there.

Extremely over-looked which is good news for the few visitors willing to pay to get in. Audio guide is a must. Its austere German Reformation interiors contrasted by the vibrancy of Chagall’s dramatic windows is a religious experience, whatever your denomination or beliefs.

Visit this church for its famous Chagall windows, but don't miss the impressive organ. The entry fee is 5 CHF per person (reduced prices for students and senior citizens). The price of admission includes a booklet (in English and German) and an audio guide.

A magnificent church, well managed including entry, crypt and shop. The brochure is excellent and an essential guide. The stained glass by Chagall and Giacometti is wonderful. I would suggest organ music at regular intervals to complete the experience.

Church in Zürich which was built on the remains of a former abbey for aristocratic women which was founded in 853 by Louis the German for his daughter Hildegard. He endowed the Benedictine convent with the lands of Zürich, Uri, and the Albis forest, and granted the convent immunity, placing it under his direct authority. Today, it belongs to the Evangelical Reformed Church of the canton of Zürich and is one of the four main churches of Zürich, the others being the Grossmünster, Prediger and St. Peter's churches.

I never tire of stopping here to view the Chagall stained glass windows. What an accomplishment in the latter phase of his long career.

The church is known for its beautiful stained glass windows, including the famous Chagall windows, which are considered to be one of the most important artworks of the 20th century. The church also has a beautiful Romanesque architecture and an impressive organ. The church is open to the public, and there is a small entrance fee to visit the church, but it's definitely worth it.

A must visit when in Zurich and one of the more interesting Churches in Zurich, located inside the Old Town, near the shops and restaurants. It has a crypt as well, which is very interesting if you’re into that sort of thing.
Church is free to enter, crypt there is a small fee to be paid in cash as far as I can remember

The Chagall windows alone are worth a visit, and DO ask for an audio guide -- the commentary on topics ranging from the church's history to Chagall's stained glass panels (and their meanings) are among the best I've ever heard

Definitely worth a visit. Get the audio guide, it explains so much about Zurich history and with the Chagall windows it’s the perfect place to sit down and listen which looking at the beautiful stain glass windows!
The Grossmunster is a large, Romanesque church in Zurich that is popular for its ties to the Protestant Reformation. It's unmissable in the city's skyline and one of the most important churches in the country.
This is a beautiful church and a landmark of Zurich. We had a chance to walk up the tower and the view of the city was spectacular.

This is the church with twin towers that is highly recommended by locals and is iconic of Zurich. Too bad that Swiss Travel Pass isn’t eligible for the church’s admission. The gentleman who sells the ticket was very friendly and polite. The church has a beautiful organ and the stained glasses are beautiful.

We were told that this would be a good sightseeing.
It definitely was.
Very old building which is still in good condition. The glass windows were mesmirizing.
It's free to get in and it is easy to walk through.
The detail is not as elaborate as one normally sees in as old churches and in southern Europe but still very majestic.

It's a symbol in Zurich. You can go up to the tower at 5 swiss francs for adults and 2 francs for students. You will see the panoramic view of the Zurich and it's better to visit in the morning or in the evening. You will see other 2 churches across the river.

When in Zürich pay a visit here.
This is a nice historic building and an functional church.
It will take 5-30 minutes to tour the insides (free) and 15-30 minutes to go to the top (a ticket is required).
And don't forget about the crypt, it hides some secrets!

A 12th century Romanesque-styled cathedral located in the heart of the city and is one of the most iconic and important landmarks in Zurich. Known for its twin towers design, it is a must-visit if you are in Zurich. What the Eiffel Tower is to Paris, Grossmünster is to Zurich!

Wonderful and historical church at the heart of Zurich with an imposing view. It's free to explore some parts of the interior but please be quiet and respectful. Outside the church there are some great photo ops overlooking Fraumunster and Zurich across the river.

A great church in the middle of the city and at the side of the river. Besides its importance, it also has great views at its garden. You must climb a few stairs to reach the church. Also there is a tower which is suitable to climb to the top. It definitely offers a breathtaking panoramic view of city of zurich from a very high point, possibly the highest man-made point in the city. But I must also say climbing to the tower might be challenging since staircase is narrow and tower is high
Mr. Whiskey — Google review
Climb the tower and get a nice air breeze and view of the city. I had Zürich card so admission was included. Don’t be afraid of climbing the stairs as they open up shortly after.

The tower was closed, but we were still able to enter the church and look around and even without be able to climb the tower, it was worth visiting. Even our tween and teens enjoyed it! Since the tower was closed, it was free to enter. The carved entry door, agate windows and ornate organ were highlights.

The walk up to the tower is brutal. Nice collection of 16th century religious texts. Great organ. Nice Bullinger statue outside and cool Charlemagnes inside.

Great big church in the heart of city Zurich... One of the top ten things to visit in city... It's close to the main station, 10min walk... The entrance is free, but if you want to go up to the tower you must pay... There is always so much people around who take pictures and videos... All recommendations for visit if you are in Zurich...
