I bought a taster session for my children and thoroughly enjoyed it!
Their instructor Esther was fantastic, so friendly and helpful, the girls felt instantly at ease with her.
They can't wait to come back again to try out some different climbing routes!

Had an amazing time! I booked a taster session for climbing for 5 adults and we all had a brilliant climb with Harrison. He was fantastic and really knowledgeable and helpful. We plan to come back next month. We got to try different walls of different difficulity as well as bouldering. Thank you for a great time!

Went to Pinnacle to do the auto belay and bouldering induction today with a mate as we haven't been in about 10 years. Oscar was our instructor who was super friendly whilst explaining everything with great detail also providing tips to help us better our climbing experience. Would 100% recommend this place to anyone!
Thanks again to the team at pinnacle we had a great experience!

Just had a taster session ahead of my sons 8th birthday party in a couple of weeks. Fabulous climbing experience to suit all ages and abilities! Our instructor Sophie was brilliant 🤩 we’d never done a climb before and she put us at ease and talked us through everything. Would highly recommend giving it a go 👍🏻

My son and I had a taster session and it was great. All members of staff were friendly. The instructor Paul was friendly, made us feel comfortable and put us at ease. Paul also gave us some good information about the courses are available and what he has achieved from starting Rock Climbing which I found very interesting.
It was a really good experience. We will definitely be going again. Thank you 😁

As a novice climber this seemed daunting. But we had an instructor session and they were really friendly. This does seem more suited for the experienced climber. But there are lots of walls and different routes on each wall to choose from.

Good pricing for what you are getting.
I chose a 1hr taster session for 2 of my friends and I, and it was £65.
Really fun. The instructor I had, Dave, was a great fellow. Very professional. Taught us well. We had fun with him.

I do however feel terrible that I never thanked the 2 gentleman that handled the party so please can you forward my thanks (Amira 26th Nov) the ladies at the desk were also incredibly kind & welcoming. First time visit on BH Monday and had a great experience with friendly and accommodating staff. Clearly run by climbers, and the whole place had a good feel about it that will draw me for another visit.
Worth a journey for the BigWalls if you've a free day.
Tea/Coffee/Cake and Pizza available- all reasonably priced.

Really pleased with how well we were looked after at Pinnacle. My sons were given a 1 hour taster session for Christmas, and absolutely loved it. The instructor, Paul, was SO good with them, dealing equally well with my over-confident and very able 8-year-old and rather more cautious 6-year-old. He took them on a variety of different walls and features, and managed to challenge them without ever denting their confidence. They are desperate to go back!

I cannot express enough gratitude to The Pinnacle for coming to the rescue and hosting my son's birthday party on such short notice, less than 2 hours! We had been let down by another venue, and the staff at The Pinnacle were absolute lifesavers. From the moment we arrived, their warmth and willingness to accommodate us were evident.
The staff made sure the kids had an incredible time on the climbing walls and bouldering. The joy, laughter, and giggles of the children throughout the experience were priceless. The team checked in with me several times, to ensure everything ran smoothly, and it truly did.
The party room was a perfect space for the kids to unwind after their climbing adventures, and the pizza was a hit – they said it was delicious! My son declared that this was the best birthday ever and even better than our initial plan. He loved it so much that we're already planning to return and potentially joining their weekly club, something I wasn't aware they offered.
I can't thank the team at The Pinnacle enough for going above and beyond to make this day so special. Even the party host came in on their day off to assist us. The thoughtful touch of writing a card for my son made him feel incredibly special. Thank you again for making this birthday memorable and extraordinary!

Our lovely instructor, Esther, today was absolutely brilliant. She was very encouraging & enthusiastic for both 11 year old Phoebe & 16 year old Reuben. 78 Derngate is a Georgian house with interior designs by Charles Rennie Mackintosh. It is a museum that displays artifacts from the Northampton area's history, as well as works of art. The museum has been open since 1917 and is well worth the visit for architecture fans and history buffs alike.
This is a wonderful little gem of a building. Tucked away in an easily accessible corner of Northampton, close to a good source of parking, it makes for a smashing few hours of a visit. This is a fine example of a domestic Art Deco style designed by a master, but is also altogether a one off by its author. I strongly recommend the afternoon tea. It really is the best to be found in Northampton and it’s wider environs and the staff are charming and very helpful.

A lot of standing up with a guided tour, but very interesting.
More exhibits coming later in the year. Will go back without a guided tour so I can sit when my energy runs out. Rarely more than 1 chair to sit on, and sometimes none.
A view of the garden from the house. Currently locked as building work is going on

Absolute hidden gem in Northampton. The only home Charles Rennie Mackintosh designed in England. The Art Deco walls, lighting, furniture, rooms simply amaze you. As a Glaswegian I know his work well, buildings and art so I was fascinated to discover Derngate. Volunteers give a wonderful informative tour. You must book. Then you can wander afterwards at your leisure. Upstairs is the museum about the owner and drawings of the house plans etc The cafe is reasonable too, tasty home baking, aft teas and breakfasts. Parking is nearby alongside the park. If I remember the house is part of National Trust.
All in all a fabulous day out!!

We have lived here for many years and always wanted to visit. It was lovely, well worth the wait. Very interesting! I've always loved this style of architecture. Sadly we hadn't booked for the restaurant so we couldn't have a drink there.

We visited the house on Saturday afternoon and it was so interesting, very glad we went to see it. Our guide was amazing and had so much knowledge to share with us. We then went and had afternoon tea which was absolutely fabulous. Lots of savouries which we thoroughly enjoyed, and then came the cakes...delicious.
Would recommend you go to both places and see this amazing hidden gem in Northampton.

Amazing, I've wanted to come here for years as I've known about Macintosh since I was in the furniture trade from a teenager . Obviously a lot of the original furniture and fittings are copied from the originals as the house has had several lives from the original design by macintosh, but so extremely well done it is hard to tell unless you are an expert in this field .
When you purchase your ticket it is also valid for a year which is a bonus if you wanted to take other friends or family back .
I would certainly reccomend this visit as it really is like going back in time to the Arts and Crafts Era

78 Derngate is a Grade II listed Georgian house in the Cultural Quarter of Northampton, England, originally built in 1815. Its interior was extensively remodelled in 1916 and 1917 by the architect Charles Rennie Mackintosh for businessman Wenman Joseph Bassett-Lowke as his first marital home, given to him by his father.
Wenman Bassett-Lowke was the prosperous model-making business and was one of Mackinosh's most demanding patrons.
This is Mackintosh's only English house interior. It was a self guided tour.
Great plsce to visit if you like Macintosh's work.

We had a guide take us around it was included in the price. She was very pleasant, knowledgeable and clear. She certainly added value. Without the guide you may wonder if it delivers value.
The ticket enables entry for a year we will go back for a second trip in a few months time maybe without the guide the second time. There's a cafe which we didn't have time to use but we will next time. The Northampton museum is only 5 minutes walk away so between the two it was a good afternoon out.

Fantastic place to visit, wonderful guide and much detail packed into this gem in the centre of Northampton. Lunch was fantastic but do book when you purchase your entry tickets online. Also parking prices in the city are reasonable compared to places like Cambridge.

A very interesting tour by a guide who obviously loved the place and knew a lot of information. She was lively and well prepared. 78 Derngate is a wonderful representation of Charles Rennie Mackintosh and his ability to design a complete interior that was stylis, modern & functioned as a place for people to live. If you are interested in architecture and interior design, visiting this house is a must.

When I found out Charles Rennie Mackintosh had designed the interior of a house in England, I made it my mission to visit. What a fantastic find. A grade 2 listed Georgian house with stunning Mackintosh interior/architecture. £9 for an adult ticket, which included a guided tour...this took about an hour. A special thanks to Elaine, who showed us around and gave a detailed insight into the history of the property and its occupants. The Dining Room restaurant and a gift shop on site. Photography allowed. If you're in the area, this delightful historic property is well worth a visit.

If you are a fan of Charles Rennie Mackintosh, or pre-Art Nouveau design, you need to come and take a look at this house. Beautiful restoration of a terraced town house and garden, with many original features. The guest bedroom will blow your mind! 78 Derngate is a true gem in the heart of Northampton. A beautiful building, inside and out, it's well worth a visit if you are interested in architecture, history, or of course Mackintosh's work. The building was beautifully restored last year and now also features a lovely garden. The staff and volunteers at the museum are friendly and welcoming, and the gift shop and tea room are the (literal) icing on the cake!
The Coton Manor Garden is a beautiful botanical garden that is worth visiting. It features stunning Bluebell woods and picturesque gardens, which are particularly breathtaking during springtime when everything is in bloom. The staff are friendly and helpful, and visitors can enjoy a delightful lunch or tea with delicious cakes, including the recommended ginger cake, Cherry & Almond cake, and coffee & walnut cake. Additionally, the village of Coton surrounding the garden is small but charming with lovely houses that add to its appeal.
We visited in late April to see the Bluebell woods, which were amazing.
The Manor gardens were beautiful even though it wasn't in full bloom yet.
We had a delicious lunch before we explored and after we had a cuppa and a delicious wedge of cake....highly recommended the ginger cake, the Cherry & Almond cake and the coffee & walnut cake they were all fab (there was three of us, I wasn't being greedy 😉)
Great day had by all and definitely recommend to anyone who enjoys this sort of thing.

Definitely a well recommended destination. Very scenic and tranquil.
There is free parking, a nursery to buy plants, and a cafe with lots of variety.

Beautiful gardens, lwell cared for, lots of trickling water at different levels throughout the garden.. Was damp underfoot but not too slippery. Nice to see chickens roaming and the flamingos too which didn't bother even though we were in touching distance. Cafe was well organised and reasonably prices.
Well with visiting

Coton manor gardens didn't open until 11.30, and the only morning bus route got here at 10.15, so keep that in mind! There is nothing to do in the area if you have spare time before they open. Ticket prices are reasonable.
The gardens themselves are very beautiful, and it is clear they have been cared for with great care and detail by the incredible gardeners here! I especially loved the species of plants and flowers and all of the dynamic uses of water around the gardens.
I was planning on bringing my young daughter but didn't, I definitely wouldn't suggest bringing a young child here as there are no activities or places to play and you are not allowed picnics on the grounds so I imagine they would be very bored. However, going without children was a pleasant experience overall. The cafe options are underwhelming with quite high prices, but the gardens themselves were fab, and there were hundreds of plant options in the nursery! I'm excited to see it at another time of year because different things will bloom each season. Coton manor gardens were shown in Carol klein's great british gardens show on BBC.

Flamingo birds are the best thing about this place 😍😍🦩🦩🦩
There is a huge garden that you visit , entrance is 7£ adult and if I remember right 3£ kids.
The Flamingo are walking freely so you might get lucky and get a great picture with them
There is also a plant nursery and if you go there in the spring time they are offering tulips/daffodils for donations 😍
A coffee shop is at the entrance/exit with outdoor tables, they are serving beverage and ice cream 🍦 and sweets 🥧🍰🍪

Lovely house in lovely grounds tucked away in a little village in Northants. Beautiful gardens to wander around and lovely water features like a mini Chatsworth House. Went in early May and the bluebell walk was in full display in the little woods they have. Quite wonderful with an ancient feel to the place. Amazing flamingos and feisty chickens and cockerels gadding about the place causing mischief and comedy moments. The pigs were fun. Tea and cakes were really nice and the seating is really well laid out in a courtyard in the shadow of the manor. Really nice afternoon and good value.

Went there on a weekend. Parking was paid and needs to be paid before you exit. The play area was really great with lots of fun stuff for kids of all ages. It was a little crowded with loads of families and kids, but we didn't have to wait for any of the slides. Our 3 yo enjoyed his time, and loved playing in the sand. One unique thing was the water flowing through the play area and down some wooden structures and places where kids could dip their legs and splash around in.
The park itself is huge and there are several areas to walk. We saw quite a few families putting down blankets and having a picnic. Would definitely visit again and recommend to anyone looking for a fun outing or a picnic.

The Royal & Derngate is a top-notch performing arts center located in the heart of Northampton. It boasts two high-quality theatres that host both in-house dramas and touring classical music troupes. The entrance is welcoming, and the bar offers excellent service to guests. The theatres provide unobstructed views of the stage from every seat, with ample space for comfortable sitting. The venue is always heated adequately, ensuring comfort during colder weather conditions.
We loved it 💕☺️
The entry tickets for the ballet show tonight were at a reasonable price (£18/pers).
However, as a parent of a child that performs on the stage, I was expecting a discount (as I had to pay for all the family including our 3y old).
Anyways, we'll definitely come back. Smart dress code is recommended ✅

Excellent show (Waitress)
The overall impression of the theatre was positive. Feels a little dated/worn-out in places and the seats are quite basic ( became uncomfortable after an hour or so).
The staff were friendly and professional, the toilets were clean and COVID guide lines implemented.

Sally assistance hound and I attended the Royal & Derngate theatre to see 2:22 A Ghost Story for the Wednesday afternoon screening and what a wonderfully entertaining and fabulous experience it was too! Sally and I were extremely well looked after by the "ushers in orange ties" who are specifically there to help folk with special needs. It was a wonderful play. There were about 600 people present in a 1000 seat theatre. Worth the effort and cost in my opinion. Well performed. Well written plot and dialogue. I loved it! Note well that if you're affected by bright flashing lights and exceptionally loud noises this play may not be for you!

A theatre of the highest quality with a warm entrance at the door and 100% service behind the bar. The theatres themselves offer good views of the stage for every show and the seats have plenty of space for your sitting comfort. It is always heated well so in colder weather there is never anything to worry about and with it being in the heart of Northampton it is always easy to go elsewhere once you are done at Royal and Derngate.

There are two theatres on this site. The original theatre is beautiful, the modern theatre is functional but definitely lacks the gold gilt and red velvet visu impact of the older theatre. Both are comfortable but there are stairs all over the place because the modern Derngate has been built on a slope. There are lifts for those with mobility challenges, but I admit that I struggle and I am not even in a wheelchair. I only found out that there is a disabled toilet on the Derngate main floor this week. I have been going to shows here for 20 years! The acoustics in both spaces are great. Your experience will vary according to what you have chosen to see. There is a multi-storey carpark down the (steep) hill. It is tight for modern cars. The queues to pay and then to exit can be long after a performance, so be prepared to wait. There is a closer small car park but I have never worked out how to get into it!

Interesting layout for a theatre this size. Very poor ventilation, so air becomes very stale quite quickly. The ability to exit at the end of the performance is hampered by all leaving on one side without adequate exit points.

As a wheelchair user and the first time going to the theatre in a wheelchair. It was fantastic. The staff could not do enough to help, in fact they went above and beyond. Went to see jersey boys, really good. Great view and as I am 6ft 7inches tall there was plenty of space and leg room even in a wheelchair. It's worth noting the theatre here have their own access scheme here for wheelchair users. The foyer and bar areas are lovely and spacious and modern . Top marks to the lady who came to check on us throughout the evening. You were fantastic. Will be going back here to the derngate again.

Brilliant show. Well organised with different doors for entry so you didn't have to queue. However our door was C so we had to walk a way to get there and didn't know this until we got an email the day before and as we hadn't been before to door C we didn't know how far it was. Would not be great for more senior people who aren't 100% steady on their feet.

Because of the issues with the concrete, parts of the venue are closed, which makes it a slightly less pleasant visit as you go in the back way to some areas. Enjoyed Snow White (panto) and Six (musical) recently. The temporary toilets near the entrance to the Filmhouse are tiny, so use toilets inside the theatre if you are able.

Our visit was to see Elio Pace and his band Billy Joel Songbook. We had seats in the stalls where it started to tier. The view and sound was great.
The age of the venue shows, as my seat had a large colour matching patch to cover a worn area on the front edge.
There were plenty of venue staff to serve you quickly at the interval. The queue and wait for the ladies was reasonable, as there were an adequate number of them.
The only negative experience of the night was having a bunch of keys jangled in front of us by a member of venue staff. Presume this was her way to encourage us to leave at the end of the night, whilst we chatted in the bar area with some of the band members and fans.

Very good show, it's a bit crowded with the restrictions in place at the moment.
Parking though is becoming a joke and is off putting at the end of an enjoyable evening

The first show since reopening (having been closed because of RAAC). Obviously there are some difficulties caused by the main entrance still being a construction site. But largely, this was handled very well by the staff. Some improvements could be made to the logistics to the temporary arrangements, but on the whole things ran smoothly.
The show was great and the facilities are good.
Althorp Estate is a tourist attraction that offers access to the Spencer family estate during July and August. Visitors can explore Princess Diana's island grave and a museum, as well as enjoy outdoor activities like walking around the peaceful grounds, having picnics, and visiting the stables/cafe. The manor house is well-preserved and provides an interesting insight into history. Staff members are friendly, knowledgeable, and enhance visitors' experiences.
Well preserved manor house. Best place to bring children and have picnic. Great for outdoor fun like walking around estates. Terribly interesting and we have a great weather. The staff are all lovely and knowledgeable. Well worth a visit.

Although the house was of stately home proportions, you could tell it was someone's actual home. Without exception, all the staff were really friendly. They encouraged you to ask questions and seemed genuinely interested in where you were from and why you were there. It never felt busy, and the walk to Princess Diana's last resting place was quite peaceful. There are a number of benches around the lake for reflection. I liked that they didn't push their products or food onto you. In fact, they have provided a nice picnic area for you if you want to take your own food. Only those with a disability are allowed to be driven up to the property. All other visitors park in a field opposite the entrance gate. There is then a 10 min walk to the house.

Lovely house. Pity that a lot of the rooms are gated off so you can only see part of the room. The guide book does compensate somewhat. Long gallery is the highlight. No photography inside allowed.
Walk to the lake to see Diana's resting place which is reflective and peaceful.

This is an amazingly beautiful place, I went on my own as I wanted some peace and tranquility..... And I found it! My photos don't do the grounds justice, especially Diana's lake! Staff are friendly and helpful. Only two negatives one was that I didn't think that there a great choice of food in the tea room, especially savory food, but this could be because of covid restrictions. There is a lovely picnic area on the other side of the court yard.. Which is set in a lavender walled garden. The other being only one lot of toilets, which is by the picnic area... But if your disabled it's more of a problem as the grounds are vast. All in all this is a fantastic place to go for the day.... I ran out of time and didn't even look in the house.. So I will be going again very soon 😁

We travelled quite a distance (Lancashire) to see this historic site and also to pay our respects to an unforgettable people's Princess and great lady. Although there is no longer a museum dedicated to her memory I think her memories live on at this estate for all to see...her resting place is in a beautiful location at the lake and there's also a wonderful memorial at the side of said lake. Present within the walls of the historic Althorp house is a very large wall hung painting of Diana along with her father, brother Charles and his wife....although we'd all like to see more tributes of Diana at the end of the day it was her home, it was also the Spencer family home so I think personally it's a tasteful balance between the history of the estate, the Spencer family and a gentle tribute to our Princess. I would definitely recommend visiting not just for Diana but the history surrounding the family and the estate.

My partner and I really enjoyed the visit. 14/7/21 Staff were very knowledgable and friendly. Weather was lovely so it made the walking around the grounds even more enjoyable and so peaceful. The stables/ cafe lovely touch. Prices were reasonable. It was a pleasure to meet Andy as we were leaving. Worth every penny. We would like to thank everyone for making a day very enjoyable . Wanted to visit Princess Diana's childhood home so when on holiday we booked advance tickets to see through it. One of the guides, Sarah, was so knowledgeable and friendly, she made our trip special. So much history to this family which I didn't know before. The rooms were lovely to see in all their splendour. Gift shop quite small but worth a visit. Not much about Diana, other than 2 portraits of her and a photograph. Visited the garden too where we went to the pond and island where Diana is buried. Saa the memorial plaques too in a serene, tranquil spot. We visited on a warm day which enhanced our trip.

Wonderful stately home of the Spencer family. Tour of the property was insightful, with the art collection and walking to the Diana memorial is a peaceful place to sit.
Note, don't forget your umbrella! 😊

It was my first visit in a number of years - I was lucky enough to visit several times during the Diana Exhibition years. Whilst all of that has now gone, it is still a beautiful place to visit and on a nice day, sit in the peaceful setting of the Oval Lake.

A real mixed bag. Firstly the general car park is a little way from the house. Although not busy , it is recommended you book before you go. If you are not a historic house member then entrance fee at £25 is a bit steep. However the house itself inside is superb (less said about the outside the better, though insipid would be a good word). There is some wonderful art, porcelain and furniture in the house. The guides in the room , although few , are very knowledgeable. Let's be perfectly honest the house is the best part, the lake where princess Diana is buried is nice enough , but there are no real gardens to speak of , and very little on Princess Diana. If you are hoping for a shrine to her , you will no longer find it here. There is a distinctly poor gift shop , which seems intent on supplying Charles Spencer books than offering any variety. The cafe is passable but won't blow your mind. In summary , go for the beautiful house as there is little else here.

Lovely house in picturesque well kept grounds, wild deer roaming around and loads of history to the house and family, the island where Diana laid to rest is a nice place for a sit down and to rest and reflect. great day out when it’s open, and Earl Spencer appears for book signings in the gift shop, highly recommended.

Ample car parking just outside the main estate gates in a field. A short walk through an avenue of oak trees to the stable block where there is a cafe, outside seating , toilets and a gift shop. Then another short walk to the main house, there are guides in the rooms and there is a lot to see on 2 levels. There are extensive grounds with the Princess Diana memorial by the Oval lake. The gardens are nice and lovely views over the Northamptonshire Countryside. A lot of history here and everything was well signed and easy to get around. There are picnic tables but no BBQs are allowed. Glad we went and would advise to buy tickets ahead of the visit.

This was our first visit to Althorp House and we loved it! The house is in immaculate condition and has some stunning paintings, including a few unexpected contemporary ones as well. The grounds are well kept and the memorial to Princess Diana is quite special to see.
However, we were slightly disappointed to find that the vast majority of the grounds are closed off to the public, it would be nice to have been able to explore a bit more of it rather than just the bit round the lake (which you could cover within 20 minutes at a steady walking pace). Having said that, we still enjoyed our visit, the guides in the house were friendly and knowledgeable, the staff in the shop and cafe were efficient and friendly too.
Just be warned that the car park is across the road in a field, though I think there is a provision for disabled parking nearer the house but check their website for confirmation of this.
A good day out for the family and despite some of the little disappointments, we look forward to visiting again when the house is next open.

Thank you for continuing to open your home to us Earl Spencer, and allowing me to pay my respects to Dianas memorial at your families ancestral home. Althorp is wonderfully kept; walking around, you feel the history and love of the place immensely. The house and grounds are immaculate. The rooms of the house are intuitively, tastefully decorated and treasured with antiques, inspiration at every turn. I hope Althorp continues to be loved by the family for centuries to come. The Spencer ancestors would have immense pride in Charles’ work here.
The Phipps Northampton Brewery Company has a rich history dating back to 1801 and has been brewing ale and stout for over 200 years. Although the original brewery on Bridge Street closed in 1974, the brand is still producing beer at the Albion Brewery on Kingswell Street. The brewery offers a spacious and interestingly decorated room adorned with hops and brewery items, providing a fascinating place to enjoy their great selection of beers at good value.
Superb ale on tap - the Harlequin single hop pale was outstanding. A really nice place to drink. Shame the chef was away though since we had been hoping to have some food.

A fascinating place to drink. A large room with lots of space and interestingly decorated with hops and brewery items. Great selection of beers obviously and very good value. The barman wasn't particularly welcoming to us, maybe he was just having a bad day as other reviews comment on the friendly and knowledgeable service.

What a fantastic afternoon! After a warm welcome in the bar we followed Al into the brewery where we enjoyed his fascinating tales about the history of Phipps, the family and the brewery. A sample or two of the Albion Brewery's finest products was enough stimulus to the beer buds to encourage me to sample a couple more with the best ploughman's lunch I've had for many years. We then went back to tour the tunnels, take a look at the well and then to the gin room! Thank goodness for the Neville Brothers and for Bill Urquhart - three of Northampton's finest.

We loved our short visit to Brixworth country park.
it was a lovely walk. If you want a long walk I suggest you go round the lake as the 1.25km walk only took us 30 mins. It is quite muddy if it’s been wet so good shoes are needed.
Parking is £3.60 but you can pay by card or coins.
Cafe is also lovely and toilets are available. waymarked walk
Great for kids of all ages!

The country park is scenic with a large play area for children, parking will cost you buy it should last a minimum of 4 hours. If you get bored of the walk or cycle routes in the country park there are a couple gates to let you onto the walk that goes around it! Though it is a bit of a trek.

This is a great country park! There are several different walking routes of varied length and with varied terrain. The routes are labelled. I used my power chair and we took the yellow route which was generally smooth sailing, but for some gravelly areas/steeper inclines. There are so many benches along the way and gorgeous viewing points, wooded areas, dragonfly ponds and open fields.
We were very surprised to find a selection of vegan food in the cafe-pizza, toasties and sausage rolls. There were many vegetarian/carnivorous options and lots of dairy ice cream and doggie ice cream too. Plenty of seating outside the cafe. Staff offered icey water bowls for dogs.
We didn't use the toilets but from what I could see, facilities appeared clean. I can't speak on accessibility here.
I believe there were 5 blue badge bays, which are free of charge, and the rest of the car park is pay and display.
We passed a small, accessible sensory garden, and a playground for little ones.
We didn't go down to the water so can't comment on this but there were plenty of people picnicking, playing and gathering there.
We did spot some notices saying that there was an all terrain mobility scooter which could be hired.

Fantastic place to take children out. The playground is really nice with calming water views. You have a sensory garden there, another playground for little children next year to a really nice coffee shop. You can also go for a walk into the green areas and have a picnic🌳🐜💚 loads of space for 🪁 kites and playing other outdoor games with kids.

Managed to spend an hour wandering around this place, being 1 hour early after travelling 3+hrs for a meeting. Nice place to stretch the legs. Good facilities, cafe and public toilets. Great signposting all around. Most paths were fully accessible to all, although with some hilly parts. Kids play park looked good and well maintained. Impressed with the dedicated cycle routes along with clear signage when they interact with walking pathways. Shame I don't live nearby to revisit and explore properly.

Changed alot since last went here. Car park now controlled by APN cameras which is good. Only issue was lots of cars not actually parked within space markings. £2 for first hour parking is pretty reasonable. Cafe serving good coffee and ice cream!. Toilets very clean. Worth wearing good walking shoes if going on the main path round the co reservoir.

This park is lovely. We started our walk at the cafe end and walked about 2 miles along the dam by the reservoir. The swans and ducks seemed to be having a good time.
The reservoir walk is lovely. Different scenery as you walk round, and lots of benches to sit on, watching the butterflys and the sale boarders on the water.
Really restful. Well worth a visit:)

Easy to find, plenty of parking spaces, charges are reasonable and its open for long hours. Angling site available. Bikes available to hire. Bbq and picnic areas. Pathways suitable for buggys/wheelchairs/scooters/walking etc. Very clean and tidy, so please take your rubbish home! Lovely little cafe available on site. The park is a little run down in places, but they are currently working on some improvements! There are 2 play parks, one suitable for smaller children and the other for older. Lovely weir available to see. We decided to follow the red route today which takes you on the gnome trail (approx 1.5miles round trip). Sometimes areas flood or have huge puddles.... So bring wellies and go jumping!

The farm owned by A J & G Bament is a rural property that engages in agricultural activities. It is located in a countryside area, with vast stretches of land dedicated to animal husbandry and crop cultivation. The farm utilizes modern farming techniques and equipment to achieve high yields while minimizing environmental impact. Animals such as cows, pigs, and sheep are reared on the farm for meat production while crops like wheat, maize, and potatoes are cultivated for commercial purposes.
The country park Sywell Country Park is a beautiful place to walk dogs with plenty of different trails to explore. The only downside is the expensive car parking.
A beautiful place for adults, children and dogs alike. Plenty of varied areas to keep the children occupied and nice long walks around the lake for the dogs. A good venue for picnics as there is lots of seating scattered around the park.

2 car parks, an upper and a lower one.
The lower one has toilets, and also a cafe. ( 2 x hot chocolates are £8 total )
The minimum cost is £3.20 to park.
The walk around the entire lake is just under 3 miles.
There is a path all the way around which is suitable for prams.
No wellies needed at any time of the year.
Bikes are not permitted to cycle around the lakes.
Dogs are allowed and also allowed off lead in every area except the small wooded area that's for wildlife.
It gets extremely busy here at the weekends to the point that people queue to get in the car parks down the country roads...
Also this then can have an impact on the amount of people walking round which is essentially a small lake.
Week days are fine, but its a place to avoid at the weekends unless you can get there really early.

Such an amazing place with something for everyone, I’ve lost count of the times I’ve walked or ran round the reservoir over the last 20 years or so and the park is always evolving and improving with passionate friendly staff members that carry out regular maintenance. The main loop around the reservoir is around 4km, pretty flat and perfect for running but this can be extended to just over 5km by adding to the loop at either end but this also adds steep inclines. It’s perfect for dog walking although you do need to keep your dog on the lead through the nature reserve, sadly most people ignore this information though. The pump house cafe is ideal for refreshments and there are also toilets close by, there are plenty of picnic areas but they have banned BBQ’s for good reasons. There are children’s play areas and discovery areas along with a woodland play area, through the summer months there is sometimes wild swimming events and the reservoir itself is popular for fishing. Established woodland areas, large dead trees retained for habitat and specimen trees around the main parking area including Redwoods, Tulips, Walnuts, Sweet Chestnuts, Monkey puzzles and many more all contribute to an all round fantastic habitat for wildlife which can be observed from multiple hides around the reservoir.

Actually really disappointed this trip. No mention on the website that the kids water feature wasn't working... The main reason for my kids wanting to go. We paid a full day price and stayed 45 minutes 😭 gutted. I love it there but it's not great for kids unless this water thing works. And it's also be good if you could swim there not just on 2 days 🤦🏻♀️

All credit to the Park Rangers here. They've not been idle during lockdown. There's now a good path right the way around the reservoir and a lot of trees and shrubs have been cut back to open up the area. The total walk around the reservoir is about 2.74 miles. Great place to spend an hour or so walking your dog and lots of doggie poo bins all the way around.
Well done guys!

Walked loads of places during lockdown, whilst the car park was busy, with the lack bikes to avoid on the wide tracks social distancing was easy, very enjoyable walk, we will be back with our Springer Spaniel Charlie.
Update 2024. Charlie passed over the Rainbow Bridge 2021. Too bigger hole left in our hearts, could not be without the unconditional love of a dog. Since May 2022 we visit Sywell at least twice a week to walk our Working Cocker Spaniel Lottie. The well made tracks make for easy walking and if you do the longest route it is a good 3 miles. Thank you Sywell Country Park

This is an excellent facility for those who like to walk, with light refreshments, toilet facilities and parking on site.
There are several acute speed bumps at the entrance, with parking close by and one or two disabled parking bays near facilities. A lot of the parking area is beneath trees, so car stays cool in hot weather. Parking rates are fair.
The walk around the perimeter of the reservoir is a little over 4 kilometres, so make sure that you are able to walk up to 5k. Pathways are wide and good, mostly level, would be suitable for wheelchairs, though there are clapping gates at several points (not sure if it’s possible to open the 5 bar gates for wheelchair access). It’s possible to walk along the dam at the south end. The scenery along the route is good and at our time of visit, we saw lots of damsel flies, swans and other bird life and wild flowers.
There is a cafe serving light meals and drinks. Separate section for real dairy ice cream (made at a local farm) which is excellent quality (though some may find quite sweet) with those thick, layered cones. Price is fairly high.
There are plenty of picnic tables around the area and a children’s play area.
We found our visit to be most enjoyable.

I met up with some friends on a'' walk with our dogs' meet-up. I've never been here before, although it has been on my list.
What a beautiful park. We met outside the cafe and some people had a snack and a drink before. The prices in the cafe were quite expensive but the feedback was that the food was good.
Going up the hill, we passed a beautiful water feature. The sound and movement of this mini waterfall was captivating.
We did a circular tour. The ground was very easy to walk on, and although we didn't go too near the water as it was very muddy, you had great views over the lakes. The walk was very easy over gravelled paths. I saw families with pushchairs, which shows how easy it was . There was an abundance of beautiful snowdrops, and you could see signs of Mother Nature bringing new life everywhere.
I will definitely return here as iI enjoyed the walk and will be interested to see the park in the warmer weather. Maybe take a flask and a snack and stop for a while to take in the beautiful scenery.

Heart Of The Shires is a charming shopping center with over 20 distinct stores and galleries, as well as a tearoom, located in a farm courtyard. Although some have commented on its high prices, the quality of the items offered justifies their cost. It's not all pricey, and it's an excellent location to buy gifts for others. In addition to purchasing goods or exploring the shops, having lunch at Heart Of The Shires is also reasonably priced and enjoyable.

Dogs are welcome, and also in most shops but check with each before entering.
A gathering of small individual little shops, some selling some very cool stuff.. from antiques, to toys, clothes, garden stuff, furniture, sweet shop, and a salon.

Usually no problems when dining in cafe - but service was poor this time, had to chase up our order and when it arrived it was wrong, and stale, no apology offered. There seemed to be an older woman interfering with staff doing their job - was this the problem?? Dog friendly outside and inside.

There's one shop I won't be shopping with again, she made us feel awful! We have so enjoyed our visits every month talking to all our other favourite ladies....this has really shocked me.
At the end of the day "money is money" and you judged us by saying you've "been had before"...not by us you haven't!
Why didn't you get someone to check the notes like I did when I was in retail.... I also wouldn't have left them waiting to be served for 10 minutes....if we were like that we could have walked out with our £50.95's worth of goods....along with several other customers waiting to be served.
Thank you to all the others who served us today, I spent a small fortune, again, a great selection of shops.
As for 'Something Special' it's not the 'policy' that was insulting, it was the way you said it.

Rather up market and largely over priced shopping outlet. However there are some good quality shops with quality products and you must be prepared to pay for that. On the surface the tea room looked the same. But although not cheap it provides a good quality menu and I felt it was good value. Excellent staff and they really do keep things clean. I was impressed.
The Northampton Museum and Art Gallery is a massive museum with a huge collection of footwear. There are also displays about the history of Northampton, as well as explanations about the different types of shoemaking tools used in the past. The museum is now open again after a redevelopment project, and it's well worth checking out if you're in the area!
Have been to Northampton museum last week. It's a nice museum with shoe and art gallery.
There is a section for shopping and also a shop for quick bites and coffee. Located at the heart of Northampton town center. Also there are videos and descriptions of the history and the narration on each specimen and drawings which I loved the most. The staff were friendly and cooperative too.

First visit and it was excellent. Plenty of helpful friendly staff, and a very nice spacious interior, although slightly maze like. I came for the Star Wars toys and Jim Moir paintings exhibitions. The paintings were a real mixture, I liked the Owls and the famous peoples legs and shoes. The Star wars exhibition was fantastic, especially the movie memorabilia.
Coffee shop, nice outdoor seating area, and free entry, go now, you'll love it.

What a lovely 😍 1st experience today. Staff were very friendly and even the lady in the shop commented how well behaved and well mannered my grandchildren were. We went and saw the WINDRUSH exhibition. A little disappointed there wasn't more than just a film to watch. There was also a Lego display which was above and beyond expectations. Went to the cafe and ordered tea but had to ask for a clean cup as the one I was given had all the old tea stains on but the staff were very apologetic. I would go again though. Thank you to all the staff.

The Northampton museum is very interesting. I could visit two sections. Shoe section is amazing. It gives history of development of shoes through the ages. It has hundreds of pair of shoes of different types and time periods. The other section is star war section, which depicts the making of star war movie. Many of the items used by film characters are placed there in original. Everyone who has seen the movie will enjoy it. There is shop from where one can buy items for own collection. The reference is free.

Good local museum and gallery; quite large and spent a fair few hours there. Good disability access within building, managed to view all of the gallery. Disabled loo was good/ clean. Permanent art gallery collection was much smaller than I expected. Temporary exhibitions were, on the other hand, large. One being kids book illustration and the other a Lego artist - good for kids. Shoe museum area in basement also smaller than I expected, but still interesting.

Very much enjoyed this museum, especially the shoe museum in the basement. Who knew that Kinky boots was a true story? The history of Northampton is very well described. As a Scot, what resonated with me was that Celts arrived in Northampton centuries after the Romans and then were supplanted by Angles and Saxons on boats (!). nothing new under the sun. Great building, well worth your time to visit

The museum staff is quite welcome and friendly, and I loved the museum layout and couldn't resist pausing for photos at every display unit. I was thrilled by the craft with resemblance of a tiger that was constructed using interlocking blocks. Such an amazing artefact. Lovely and beautiful paintings and head statues and a great preservation of British history. O, and they have a beautifully decorated section for young children too

Company M were fantastic, very emotional event and goosebumps on several tracks (Adele). Nice touch telling us all about her history and which album each track was from. Very intimate setting but very very warm due to all of the candles! Dress light and take a manual fan!
The Guildhall is a stunning event venue located in Northampton, with beautiful Gothic architecture that makes it a photographer's dream. The building boasts intricate details and a grand main room that exudes an air of luxury. It is highly recommended as an exceptional location for weddings or receptions, with impeccable staff providing top-notch service and delicious food. Even if you're just visiting the area, it's worth taking a stroll around the venue to appreciate its beauty and history.
I photographed a wedding here in 2022 and it was super nice and spacious. The staff were really nice and let me and the couple use a separate room for photos whilst the guests were leaving.

We attended our good friends wedding here, it was such a beautiful day and we had a great experience. The building has some stunning architecture details. Beautiful place for photographs, including the iconic two telephone boxes around the corner. Majestic architectural features. Just a short walk to All Saints church for more photographic inspiration.
I didn't actually go into the guildhall, but the walk around the exterior was breathtaking. I believe you can get refreshments here, though please don't quote me on that! If not All saints does have a coffee shop.
The outside of the guildhall was fantastic for some plane air painting, with the colour of the stone, the columns and archways in the different lights are glorious. A lovely town to visit.
Cottesbrooke Hall & Gardens is a historical landmark that boasts a variety of exquisite features. The Queen Anne house showcases fine furniture, porcelain and sporting art, while the gardens offer an array of plant species to admire. A nursery is available for those interested in purchasing bulbs and other gardening items. The tea rooms provide a delicious selection of treats to enjoy after strolling through the beautifully maintained gardens.
Been wanting to come here for ages but they have limited opening hours. We finally managed it and really enjoyed our visit. The garden is seriously immaculate. Very well maintained and beautiful grounds. A truly stunning place to visit. The house itself it very old and still lived in by the family. If you like horses and/or gardens then this is a place you must visit. Had a nice coffee and cake as well from the tea room. Interesting fact, one of the women who lived in this house a number of years ago, survived the sinking of the Titanic.

Absolutely loved this place, it's definitely worth it. It's sooooooo well cared for, it's amazing! If you choose to visit the house, which I would recommend, be aware that gates only open at 2pm. So if you book for 2:15pm it's a bit tight considering the queue. However the lady at the kiosk calls for 2:15pm bookers. The cake is also amazing. Nothing negative to say at all.

We visited on the last open day of the year (usually open may-sept) . Entrance is free if historic house or RHS member. The house is still lived in by the family and hence no photos allowed inside . Visit is by tour which was extremely informative. The lady new all the facts and figures
A large amount of the portraits inside are horse related including some by stubbs, Fernley. There are also other pieces of art by munnings, zoffany, Ramsey and Wright of Derby. A large collection of sculptures and pottery can also be found.
The gardens although small are beautiful, with hidden corners and areas abound. There is a basic cafe with the usual cakes, tea and coffee.
This place is a hidden gem and is a must see in the area.

The Aspers Casino Northampton is a popular entertainment venue with a restaurant and bar. It offers a range of table games, slots and electronic gaming devices. The casino is located in the glamorous Aspers Casino Northampton, which also has a spa, gym and pool. The staff are attentive and always happy to help guests enjoy their visit to the casino.
We often go here as the restaurant is so lovely. Reasonable prices and the staff go above and beyond. The gaming areas are great and the staff in the gaming areas are attentive and always on hand to help. Definitely recommend going here.

Lovely Sunday lunch at Clary's Restaurant, which is within the casino. The service was spot on - a great mix of friendly, attentive but also unintrusive. They catered to our dietary request without any fuss, and the food was delicious! The restaurant itself had a lovely ambience and was faultlessly clean.
I must also say that the apple pie was the nicest I've ever had the pleasure of sampling in my life! 🤤

Played fruit machine with my free £5 from joining. Got 2 free drinks for my birthday as well. Soda machine didn't work so was kindly given bottle of coke for vodka drinks.
Played roulette with very helpful croupier.
Asked if another table could open as waiting to play black jack. Told no and when it did min bet would be 10 pound instead of 5 on open table. Waited 30 minutes to play black jack. The three of us left :(

Good night. Covid safe. The only problem was that security asked if we had face masks.
One of the people in our group did not because the strap had broken on their old mask. So basically security refused entry.
Why did the casino not supply masks on the door like other places that require masks do. Security guy was rude and didn't really care but I'm not surprised.
#meathead.
For all the casino knew we where big spenders that evening. Oh well we went home instead.
So maybe next time people come to aspers in the future, supply a free mask just incase they don't have one to hand.
I won't be returning again. Cherio.

In terms of how it is run, it's better then mk casino as it's more relaxed at northampton but less security and less requirements to get in. If you're not a member most of the time they don't even scan your id like at mk. And to get a free drink you just walk up to the bar which is great. In mk you have to wait for a staff member to ask you and then wait for it to be brought to you which can take up to an hour some times if they haven't forgot. But in mk if you walk up to the bar they will charge u for the drink even tho you're playing machines and is free if a member of staff gets it for you.

Went to see take that tribute
Take that has 3 in the band not 4 none of them looked or sounded like the band .very very loud. we booked a table of 4 and was put on a table of 8. You need to ask people if that is OK....
The starter was OK
The mains the veg was mush well over cooked the chicken was tastless . The dessert no one on our table ate it
Tried to get some cocktails but had to go down stairs to get them. Massive queue so left it ....Last of all surely you should let the customer know the menu and maybe offer 2 options for each course. The staff didn't want to be there all seemed miserable
We won't return I am afraid , was really disappointed when I had heard really good things. We spent 40 a head on drinks and left early , we would of spent a lot more ....

Abington Park Museum is a fascinating attraction located in a 500-year-old manor house in Northampton. It houses the Museum of the Northamptonshire Regiment as well as exhibits on the history of leather design. The museum offers free admission but donations are encouraged. It's an excellent place to learn about the history of Northampton, and visitors can enjoy exploring the vast house with intricate carvings in its oak room.
Fantastic little free museum in a lovely setting. Only real came to see the history of the Northamptonshire Yeomanry as my Grandad served with them during the war. Parking is on the street but no restrictions. Free to enter. The part on the Yeomanry was expansive and detailed. They also had a part of the house and the park which was interesting too. No shop or cafe but toilets

A lovely local museum with a very interesting collection of items and exhibits! There are a few general displays about Northampton in the past, featuring plenty of local information and memorabilia, but the real gems are the more specialist exhibitions: a detailed interactive exhibit about the beautiful wood panelling that adorns one of the downstairs rooms, and an extensive display on Northampton's military history! The latter will certainly provide you with some gems of local information. As well as that, the building is impressive to simply walk around - the grand staircase is not to be sniffed at! Worth a quick visit if you are in the area or want to find out more about the town's past.

Lamport Hall is a grand country estate, boasting a stunning array of centuries-old relics and antiquities nestled within its picturesque parklands. The gardens are meticulously maintained and offer an immersive experience for visitors to explore. With events throughout the year, including artisan craft fairs, Lamport Hall provides ample opportunity to delve into history and culture. Went with four friends, arriving at opening time. Decided to have coffee before entering walk. Unfortunately the queue was fairly long, and we waited over 10 minutes to get our drinks. The kitchen facilities are quite small, and the staff did their best, under the circumstances.
We did attempt a second coffee after walk, but gave up and went elsewhere.
The Snowdrop Walk, however, was delightful, and the gardens were lovely. Nice to see the walled gardens too. They must be even more beautiful in Spring and Summer?
Was definitely worth the £5 entrance fee, and despite the wait for coffee, I would recommend it.

Incredible gardens, hope to come back when the house is open. I went to see family history as I am a descendant of the Ishams so it was really cool. Lots of history and if you want, ask for the keys to the church to see how beautiful it is inside.

Utterly charming country house. Fascinating architectural history, important pictures, some nice furniture, lots of pianos (well, 3 or 4).
All the more attractive for being somewhat smaller in scale - feels very liveable. On a Thursday morning the house felt intimate rather than imposing. No other visitors.
Apparently beautiful gardens but I didn’t see them.
Recommended visit to the stables cafe. Very charming.
You’ll need 2 hours.

Lamport Hall was such a fun stop on our UK trip! This normally wouldn't have been a stop for us, but my husband's family has ties to this estate and we thought it would be a fun visit.
It was easy to find and had the loveliest ambiance. All of the workers and tour guides were SO helpful and informative. We enjoyed some treats at the little cafe. The weather was lovely for a stroll around the grounds as we waited for our tour. Our tour guide Elizabeth was wonderful. She was super knowledgeable and kind. We enjoyed seeing all the sights, especially the ones that were applicable to my husband's family history. We stopped in at the little church across the street as well. It was all so charming and beautiful. We would definitely recommend a stop here if you get the chance. We hope to go back again someday.

Well worth a visit, charming gardens and a very interesting small rural museum. Also, as it was a weekday we had a free guided tour which was excellent. At weekends you roam the house at your own pace and there are volunteers in each room - I think we got the better option. Also worth a mention is the cafe in the stable, small range of items on the menu but what was on offer was very tasty, I can highly recommend the carrot and coriander soup. Overall highly recommended

Visited for the antiques fair, so did not get to look around the hall or grounds.
Lots of stalls with a wide variety of collectibles, furniture etc….bit of a squeeze in some stalls that were located in the old stables. Due to this did miss looking at some of them. Refreshments and toilets on site
Plenty of parking and well organised, small entrance fee. Still worth a visit, would definitely go to the next one

Lovely location, beautiful grounds. Went for the country fair event. It was laid out fairly well, with good space between most exhibitions, food vans and fair ground rides. One criticism would be the dog show arena right next to the tractor demonstration arena??
Plenty of straw bales around the arena's too to sit on.
Not bad prices and good parking, with a disabled parking area right near entry gates.
A beautiful day made for a lovely few hours wandering in the sunshine, shade and with the noises of old and natural country sounds.

Visited the gardens at Lamport Hall, used a 2 for 1 offer so very reasonable, but do take cash. The long hot weather had not helped the gardens so maybe they were not at their best, but still a very impressive place. Rutland Zoo is a compact yet impressive animal sanctuary, boasting an extensive collection of over 75 invertebrates and reptiles. The zoo offers visitors an interactive experience with the creatures, including opportunities to get up close, stroke them and learn fascinating facts about each species from the welcoming staff. The facility also houses a souvenir shop for patrons looking to bring home a keepsake. Additionally, the zoo sits in close proximity to a lovely park and cafe that serves affordable refreshments.
There's practically nothing I can say to fault this place. Staff were friendly and professional. I saw animals here that I havnt seen in major zoos before. I loved the walk through bit and the Agouti may be my new favourite animal. My one and only criticism is you didn't sell postcards in the shop which is kinda sad as I would have loved a small memento. Don't get me wrong though, this is easily one of the best small zoos I have been to, fairly priced and I completely recommend. Keep up the great work guys 👍

Had a brilliant time. Rick let us hold the blue-tongued skink and took time to talk us through some of the other exhibits. Animals all looked happy and well cared-for. We will be heading back and will recommend all our family and friends come with us, as it gives you the animals with a more intimate feel to your usual zoo experiences. The is quite literally the best Farm Park you could go to! It’s small enough that your toddler doesn’t flake out half way but if you have bigger kids there are longer walks too. They have lots of activities throughout the day from sheep or pig racing, bottle feeding lambs to cuddles with bunnies and guinea pigs.
The outdoor play area is great for all ages…they have big slides, little slides and best of all 4 baby swings! I have twins who love swings which can be an issue if there aren’t enough!
The restaurant has speedy service and excellent food.
The staff are friendly and helpful.
I also saw posters for camping on site and cheap entry after 3pm…we’ll definitely take advantage of these in the future!

We also had lunch there, which was lovely!
A magical day.

Highly recommended.
Low key but priced accordingly, and therefore felt very good value for money. We visited after 3:30 on a Friday so entry was just £5pp, and they’re open til late so still had a decent visit. Even the extras like Mini Golf at just £2pp made us think ‘yeh, why not’ rather than other places that think a captive audience is free reign to charge over the odds.
Our 12 year-old son is probably at the upper age of enjoying it, but our 10 year-old daughter could have stayed a few more hours!

Visited for the 3:30 session on a Saturday afternoon with my goddaughter. Was a bit worried that lots of the activities would be finished for the day by this later time. However was pleasantly surprised that there was tractor rides, petting of small animals and bottle feeding of lambs all scheduled for after 3:30. Would highly recommend visiting at this time if you are short on time as we managed to look around everything at the farm and also have a play in both the outdoor and indoor play areas. It is also a bit quieter if you prefer uncrowded places.

We love this farm and everything about it! My son had his birthday party here yesterday and it was so lovely! Staff were friendly and attentive and couldn’t have done more to make things go smoothly. Food is excellent and the kids loved their day at the farm that is included in the package. Honestly couldn’t be more impressed!

We had a great time here. Lots to look at and plenty of space to walk around and enjoy the animals. Plenty of places to shelter from the rain if that’s an issue too!

We just did the Christmas experience and gingerbread decorating with our 4yr old. What a wonderful experience, we had a great time throughout it all including seeing the farm animals and indoor play area.
The Christmas experience was well organised and ran and my little boy was awestruck when he met Santa. 💙
Thank you for a wonderful day out
National Trust is a UK-based conservation charity which owns and manages Stowe, one of the most beautiful estates in England. The grounds are filled with gardens, lakes, temples and monuments, making it a must-see tourist attraction for anyone visiting England.
Wonderful landscaped gardens to visit - very large, you could spend a whole day here and still not see it all! Great views when you get up the top near Stowe House.
Make sure you have comfortable shoes on.

Stowe is a full day out of walking with lots of architecture and nature to appreciate.
Myself and my partner visited for the first time during January.
I would recommend going when its abit warmer but we enjoyed our day.
Lots of walking but there are paths for accessibility. I believe there are electric scooters or carts available for people with limited mobility.
Some of the buildings are off path on rocky hills to climb.
We spent 3 hours walking around and still didn’t see everything its such a large area to explore. There are churches, arch ways, lakes, rivers, bridges and general forest areas to explore.
The site has toilets by the car park/cafe so make sure you use those facilities before exploring the area.
We finished our walk with some cake & a pot of tea which was delicious. There is also a gift shop, book shop & some old parlour rooms to check out.
If you want to take a picnic there are lots of grassy areas and also a couple of picnic benches available.
All in all a lovely day out which will raise your step count for the day while giving your eyes something to admire.
Would definitely recommend a day here.

Stunning walk, £13 pp to get in, but you can spend quite a few hours here, especially if you bring a picnic, loads of places to sit and just take in the scenery. Very well looked after grounds and everything is perfect. Don’t go on silverstone weekend though as there are helicopters constantly going over which kind of ruins the tranquil experience but not enough to not enjoy it.

The most amazing place to spend a Sunday with family and dog! We enjoyed exploring the site and taking in breathtaking views. You can visit the main building but for a separate fee (but if you want to, make sure to get there early as it’s a very long walk from the car park!). All staff were all wonderful and the cafe building definitely worth a visit!

Such a pretty spot for a weekend walk. Pathway is a bit iffy but worth it. National Trust here folks are nice and helpful.
If you like a bit of geese chase in beautiful green gardens, this is it!

What a beautiful place. My family and I had our first visit here at the weekend. What a beautiful tranquil place we enjoyed our visit and look forward to visiting again. The only niggle was it's really harsh on the wheel chair I have a self propelled one so I would suggest booking a mobility scooter a couple of days before you visit. Definitely worth going.

We went for a winter walk to see the snowdrops we were not disappointed. It's a fair walk from the entrance to the gardens about 10 minutes for me. There is a leaflet showing the best route through the v gardens. It probably makes about an hour. There is so much else there but perhaps best to save it for a warmer day. Enjoyable visit and good café as is usual in NT places.

What a place, we loved it here, the sun was out and lots of fresh country air was taken.
The grounds are stunning and things to see all around you, a great day for a family walk and dogs are allowed.
Our little one loved it though unfortunately the Stowe House was closed but if you go to the cafe on the ground floor for £2 you can go into the wee museum, which has interactive screens, costumes and artefacts......short but good fun and interesting
We will come back.....Again and again as its family fun and if a National Trust member...FREE though the House has a charge

Great place for walking and enjoying the country side. The park has walks and has a beautiful landscape. The lake is nice and well maintained. The footpaths are buggy accessible. The site has souvenir shop, a cafe and restaurant and best of all an ice cream booth. Really enjoyed the time there.

Huge gardens and parkland with good walks around the lakes
Lots of monuments in the parklands, and Stowe school is next door.
Fairly large café with plenty of outdoor seating and picnic area.

One of my top 5 NT places in England.
Wonderful views across the estate. I've always visited for only a few hours but it's a place to get lost reading a book in any of the peaceful and beautiful places. Architecture and art from different countries and trends.
Mobility scooters for disabled are back after having been removed during COVID times.

Beatuiful place, well maintained gardens, with some hidden gems.
At 1st we thought it was good value at £16.50p each with gift aid, £15 without , but then it turned out that was just to get into the gardens and not the house itself, that's an extra cost and only by prior arrangement so we found out.
The cafe prices are slightly on the dearer side, but a good selection.
Main Restrooms well maintained.
Overall, we will return , but we will take our own food as plenty of areas to have a picnic.

National Trust Stowe House, beautiful estate, but the grounds are only looked after by the NT. Stowe House is a Private School, but can be access for visitors. Beautiful building with fascinating history. The tour guide was amazing. A must visit.

We arrived at noon, plentiful spaces at the parking lot. Through the sunny spells, sceneries became more vivid and beautiful. At last, the sunset covering by clouds was magnificent. The pavements around the waters which we walked are well managed. Recommend the bookshop, it is an interesting place.

Beautiful landscapes gardens maintained by the National Trust covering a large area. You'll never get round it all in a day unless you're quite fit!
The house is a private school and spectacular with a lot of interesting history. I would recommend booking a tour to learn all about it!

A stunning place, even by National Trust standards. The grounds are full of charming follies, many a tribute to Ancient Greece, some to great English iconic figures of the past. I took my 84 year old mum and her dog: both loved it!

An ideal place to spend a day with your family. Lots of impressive constructions surrounded by very beautiful landscape. Many walking trails for you to choose. The only two shortcomings are lack of toilet facilities and inadequate sign posts on food path.

This place is so beautiful, no matter how many times you visit there is always a hidden gem to discover. The ground are maintained and tidy. Plenty of picnic areas.
Easy access for the less able and buggies. The only down side us a lack of toilets. Portable toilets are the entrance to the grounds and main toilets by the carpark. Plenty of free parking. Dogs also allowed on leads with ample bins.

I cannot recommend this place enough! If you're into walking and exploring, then this is definitely the place for you. I'd highly suggest clearing a whole day to explore, there really is that much to see! The beauty is that you can see as much or as little as you like. We took a picnic, as the cafe is quite a long walk away from a lot of the monuments. I'm keen to go back to trek to some of the really far away places that my other half didn't want to do at the time!

Nice walks, note there's a private school on the grounds so if you want to explore the school you have to go on a timed tour or visit when the terms are out (this is a separate cost to the ground entry).

Another stunning site from the National Trust.
We visited on a bit of a gloomy day but it didn’t detract from the lovely long walk around these beautifully crafted gardens and monuments.
We took our 1 year old and made a decision at the car park to ditch the pram and take her in a harness instead and we’re glad we did as it is a bit of an uneven, gravelled path for most of the walk with several inclines along the way which would have been testing with a pram.
What makes the grounds great is, for every 500m or so walked, you’ll discover a different monument all of which are varied in their appearance and purpose, from small temples to statues to bridges and archways.
There’s benches dotted around so it’s nice to take a seat and absorb the surroundings and despite it being busy in the car park, it didn’t feel that busy in the grounds due mainly to its vast size.
Stowe House is a separate entity I believe and required further payment which we didn’t bother with but may take a look in future.
As with many of NT’s stately home sites Stowe features a nice large tea room / cafe and gift shop. There was a dog cleaning station just outside the cafe too just before you venture back to the car park so all in all, has everything you’d expect / need from a NT site.
Looking forward to revisiting when the suns out!

Went to see the 'Earth' exhibition at this beautiful school. The grounds were designed by Capability Brown I believe - just stunning!. Lot's of walking so be prepared, not all level surfaces either. Luckily we were able to access the NT gardens from the school side. Otherwise, the NT entrance was 1.5m further down & looked alot further to walk to even reach the gardens. The weather was marvellous, which went a long way to enjoying the scenery.

What a great place for a very interesting walk. You can take a short, medium or long walk. We walked the right hand side of the garden today and covered 4 miles and approx 20 floors elevation. The cafe has a great selection.

What a great place for studying.I must say this is a dream school to be part of it.If you get the chance simply to explore the magnificent building, you wan't be disappointed. The architecture and the styling -worth every single penny you pay to explore the place. The library is impressive as all the rest of the rooms in the House. They all have their unique designs. Stowe School is with amazing architecture and lots of open spaces with magnificent views.Thank you for the great tour provided by tour guide with great personality 😊Highly recommend National Trust -Stowe Gardens and the school ,we had an amazing day wondering around hidden treasures.Great place to entertain kids for the half-term.

We’re regular visitors to Stowe, its a great location for walks around the lakes and the various temples etc.
We pre-booked Cobhams Pillar, a rare opportunity to climb the tall building, its well worth a visit if you get the chance.
