Lindfield House Museum is a living museum which preserves period furnishings, clothing, and common household items from the Victorian era. The current owner dresses up in Victorian clothing to show guests around the house.
Fantastic collection of collectibles. Guide has exceptional knowledge of Victorian age and explained what the relevance and use of items was. Well worth a visit.

Catherine was a lovely guide. She has such in-depth knowledge about the Victorian era. We loved every minute of the tour. The house has been beautifully preserved, and the tour was captivatingly interesting! It's a wonderful piece of South African history.

@ R100 entrance including a tour, this is an awesome experience. The tour guide seems to be incredibly knowledgeable on the victorian era. The house is gorgeous, with there being so much attention to details. Totally worth your while.

This was the most unique museum experience. One of a kind. The host is absolutely lovely and her private tour allows you to enter the Victorian Era through her home. This is a living museum which is a step back in time and so many interesting facts!
Thank you for such a lovely morning in this one of a kind home!

Beautiful house if you like old Victorian styles. It has a nice collection of antiques and glasses etc. I had a wonderful experience there. Just not sure if I'd stay in that house.

Very knowledgeable host explaining the victorian era once you enter the house. It's not just viewing the items or furniture in the house but having the purpose explained behind most of the pieces viewed was enlightening and giving you a good idea on how they lived and the mindset needed to live in that age. It was very educational.

One of the most special experiences ever. The lady of the house made so much effort taking us through with a torch because of the load shedding. I am still fascinated by the incredible stories. Seen objects which I never heard of before. Feel like I will visit a 2nd time. And a lovely garden and friendly and helpful gardener l.

Such a cool experience! Ms Love is very accommodating and knowledgeable and the house is stunning (the highlights being the doll house and cabinet of curiosities). Highly recommend if you want to learn more about the Victorian era or just spend time in an aesthetically beautiful space.

Linfield Victorian House Museum is an amazing experience. Take time to have tea and cake after the mind-blowingly detailed tour of the still lived in house given by Katharine. Her knowledge of the period is exceptional and deeply personal. In the collection (gathered over two lifetimes!) one sees curiosities and delights of everyday life rarely seen or even thought of.

I've been to many museums, both locally and overseas, and this tour unequivocally is one of the finest you'll experience!
Katherine Love is a warm, gracious and urbane lady that will blow your mind with her in-depth knowledge of the thousands of authentic Victorian antiques and memoribilia within the house's twenty-four rooms. In addition, she will enlighten interested visitors with her extensive understanding and encyclopedic knowledge of the Victorian era
This is a collection that rivals the finest Victorian catalogues in the world and one could spend far more time than the approximately one-and-a-half tour admiring the intricate and beautifully designed objects on display.
The highlight of the tour for me was the incredibly detailed and large-sized doll house that Ms Love and her mother built by hand, which gives a further window into this lady's dedication and skills on the subject.
Lindfield Victorian House should be richly supported as the great danger is that this meticulous Victorian collection gathered over decades by the delightful Ms Love could be lost forever due to the general lack of interest about this topic amongst academics and the public at large in this country. Such a loss would be irreplaceable.

It was such a delight to visit this treasure. Katherine and her Mother have created this wonderful experience where you are immersed in Victorian history and can see it for your own eyes. Everywhere you look is a charming object with a story that Katherine is able to recall for you. I could have spent a day in just one room with her but there is a whole home filled with antiquity. Please do take time to visit this true gem
The apartheid museum is a museum in Johannesburg, South Africa that celebrates the end of white-minority rule in South Africa through its informative displays on the history of apartheid. The museum allows visitors to experience segregation based on race by separating them into different groups according to their features, including skin color, size of nose, kinks in hair and language used. This highly recommended museum also highlights the progress made by South Africa since the end of apartheid with its various exhibits.
A must in Joburg. Only open Thursday to Sunday and bank holidays, we were lucky to be there on Easter Monday.
You have to see this museum to help you understand/recollect/refresh your memory of this insane period in time. I was sickened. I left the museum twice to get air. I left the visit with dark clouds over my head, so I suppose that can give you an idea of just how good this museum actually is. Photos inside the museum are forbidden, but my link with accessibility forced me to take one photo ... "For every person that died, three people were left with a disability..."
This just added to my dark clouds.

Very, very interesting and eye opening experience for us at the Apartheid Museum. We went there as part of a private tour and only allotted two hours. So, unfortunately we only made it until 1970 before having to depart. We recommend four hours to see everything included.
We were a group of two visiting on a weekday so there was no lines, not very busy and no need to buy tickets in advance.
We really enjoyed our time here and would recommend visiting when you travel to Johannesburg.

Such an incredible museum. The layout is beautiful. The beginning of the tour helps you know how to pace your visit based on the time you have. So many different mediums, helping teach or illustrate different parts of the history. Cool gift shop!

One of THE BEST museums you’ll find. So wrong experience. Very moving. Extremely well done. Even if you o may have ½ an hour, it’s so worth the 150 Rand per person. You could spend hours and hours there but it’s worth even a short and speedy trip. Just deploy your speed-reading skills - you’ll need it.

We absolutely loved our experience. We arrived early and took our time. Although I'd recommend it for older kids. My 16 year old wanted to spend all morning here, however my 14 and 10year old soon became hungry and tired. The museum is brilliantly set up with up-to-date information. Not much in way of food but conveniently located near the casino which had restaurants as well fast food places nearby..100%recommended as a day out in JHB.

Must go to the Apartheid Museum! A wealth of history, so powerful and well presented. Tour guide is recommended. There are a few details you might miss otherwise. And the museum is very large, so the guide helps you move along a bit quicker without missing anything.

This is one of the best organised and thoughtfully designed historical museums I've visited in a while. When you enter the museum, you are immediately challenged to empathise with people who lived under Apartheid rule.
It compares favourably to the Holocaust Museum in Washington, DC. Although we had two hours, we could easily have used another hour. If you read English, you do not need a guide.
NOTE: no photos can be taken once you enter.

The museum overall was an okay experience, I've seen better and have been treated better. The staff in the Cafe on the other hand were another story. Disgusting, rude and malicious! The specific person has been identified in the photos attached. I explained to her that I disliked the sauce they put on my burger and she got IRRATE IMMEDIATELY! She slammed the food carton top down on my hands while I was showing her what I was speaking about and then snatched the carton from me. These photos are the aftermath, she thinks it's funny and smirks about her childish behavior. Just UGLY...

Museum is very well done and artistic too. Great transition though history in South Africa. I did this on a day Joburg tour, 2 hours is sufficient to see everything and read. Goes well with visiting Soweto too, the township that is a key example of segregation, separation laws, and racism. Temporary exhibits on Mandela and Tutu are wonderful right now. No pictures to be taken inside. Right next to Gold Reef in case you also want to visit a casino and amusement park. Note, it is open 5 days a week now, so check the schedule.

If you're in the area, this should be a place to take in some historical truths. When walking through, not only can you recount the historical context of Apartheid, but one should be able to see its affects on natives of SA then and even now. Only then are we able to understand how truly devastating the systems of Apartheid IS. It's rather insightful and warrants actionable atonement. This is not meant for just another walk through another museum.

Amazing Museum that gives a very full and in depth view of Johannesburg and South Africa and about the struggle heros that were involved in the anti apartheid movement. Budget 2-4 hours for this experience. Always take clients here when they visiting from other countries to give them context of our country.

This museum is going to stir up something deep inside you. You are given either a ‘White’ or ‘Non-white’ card at the entrance which follow separate paths in the first section giving you a very clear insight into how life for South Africans have shaped up over the years.
The museum has plenty of excerpts, short movies, audio clips and a lot of info. You should definitely account for 3+ hours to really do justice to this museum.
Tickets are priced at 150 Rands as of 2023 and there’s plenty of parking available.

A very rich and documented museum particularly about South Africa ,it's inhabitants , how gold was discovered in Johannesburg , start of apartheid ( colored , indians , Africans and whites ) ,role of Nelson Mandela & Desmond Tutu and others .
Also gives a full biography of Nelson Mandela ,the wives, the prison letters , visitors , his prison cell mates stories etc
You can also see the actual Mercedes Benz Nelson Mandela was given in the 90's + the briefcase 💼

The museum is a mandatory stop in Johannesburg. It is the city's main attraction and essential for learning about the history of struggle of the South African people. As a grown man. I cried. The practice was so despicable that if you have only a degree of humanity, you will cry. I learned that apartheid was so inhuman that I couldn't understand how the world allowed it to go on for so long. The experience is something that is now fully on my soul. How the South African blacks and colored tolerated it for so long is still a mystery to me. If you come to South Africa, you must go right away so you can enjoy the rest of your trip.

Stunning well laid out museum. History of apartheid laid bare but not in a depressing way. Worth at least 4 hours of your time
The heritage museum Constitution Hill, which is located in the human rights precinct of the Johannesburg CBD, tells the story of South Africa's tumultuous history and transition to democracy. The complex includes the Old Fort Museum, Womens Gaol and Number Four Museum. It is an important site for learning about South Africas political prisoners and turbulent history.
Safe environment for the whole family - friendly and helpful guards posted around the precinct. Our tour guide Pearl was amazing and the tour itself was very informative. Would 100% recommend a visit and the guided tour to anyone. Tip: book your tickets online it's quick and easy.

The area is considered to be unsafe. Not crowded at all so you have time to stroll at your own pace., well the place depict the prisoners life in and out of the African history. maintenance could have been better, easy to navigate across various sections. Highlight - the isolation cells, Mandela gandhi gallery, Mandela cell and the tunnel. Worth a visit if you are into history and would like to be part of it. Apart from prison of various different types and size., there is nothing that interest you more of the surroundings.

Well organized and informative museum. Visit prison wards and learn about how prisoners were abused before visiting the constitutional court which has used the bricks of the prison in its decoration - turning walls of oppression in to pillars of justice! Thank you Thelma for your informative tour. The area is safe and very affordable (120 rand pp with a tour!)

Totally worth a visit. Especially for foreigners. It helps you put a lot of things into context by learning a little more about South Africa and its dark past. It also helps you understand and appreciate the country and its people, especially now when it's under majority rule. There are some things that are off about what's exhibited here especially given what we know today about some of the people celebrated here like Gandhi.
The guided tour starts with a visit to the old prison. The place will break you. However, you will be lifted back up and have hope once you take a look at the Constitution Court chambers.
The guides are very knowledgeable and make the tour very informative and reflective - of ourselves as humankind and how we treat one another.

I was pleasantly delighted by attending an event here. While the signage to find the parking was missing and at night proves to be a challenge getting into the precinct, the security where helpful and the event area was great, sheltered from the cold winter wind. The toilets cleaned and functional and I would definitely attend another event there.

I am from Asia, so I know very little about the history of South Africa, but I learned about Nelson Mandela when I was young. Learning about his life in the real place he spent time in is quite exciting for me
This place is basically a fort and old prison. You learn about how cruel to prisoners is and so discrimination among white, Indian, colored, and black.
I think spending time here 45 mins is ok. I was on tour for 1.45hrs I think it's too much info to digest, personal opinion.

Another mandatory stop in Johannesburg. Fundamental to understanding a little about the lives of Nelson Mandela and Mahatma Gandi. Two extremely important people in the history of South Africa. Visiting the prison where they were both held, among many other prisoners, helps us understand how absurd it was at a time when people were oppressed just because of the color of their skin. Even more impressive is thinking that this happened not so long ago. The attraction is quite large, has several wings and it is possible to explore everything on foot. I recommend at least 4 hours to explore the entire complex and take photos. Very worth the visit.

I am so glad this is a guided tour, so you can learn the in depth history of the South Africa prison where so many of our leaders and regular people were kept in inhumane conditions. Just to think this prison didn't close until 1983 is even crazier. There is also a tour of the court where the 11 justices oversee cases today. This is a must when you visit Johannesburg.

The guest house Satyagraha House, is a museum and guest house located in Johannesburg which belonged to Mahatma Gandhi. The house was where he lived and worked from 1908 to 1909, during which time he achieved many great things including leading India to independence from British rule. It is a peaceful green setting and fascinating for learning about Gandhi's life and work.
We loved our stay at Satyagraha, it is truly an oasis of peace in the city. Full of history, beautifully decorated, service is impeccable, staff is very thoughtful, and constantly seeking feedback and ideas of improvement, of which, there are none in my opinion, as it is perfect as it is.
Last but not least their toiletries smell delicious and they have some merch you can buy.

The vibe in this part of Johannesburg on a Sunday afternoon is really awesome! I do feel though that there is a reluctance to improve basic aspects such as proper and adequate seating in the market under the guise of being true to the rustic and hippie nature of the place. Food options in the market are pretty interesting and decently priced - usually about R70 per serving. The bar on the roof top is always very poorly stocked so don't expect fancy options. R44 will buy you a single shot plus a chaser in a plastic tumbler with ice. After 4pm the place gets really packed with a lot of very experienced and skilled dancers. A lot of the people are regulars and know each other from their respective dance clubs already. Incredibly friendly people all around... but don't mistake the friendliness and someone asking you to dance for flirting. It is also not a great idea to go as a couple if only one of you is a dancer and the one who isn't a dancer does not understand what is really going on there... rather both attend dance class first which is less of a culture shock in terms of personal space invasion. You will quickly realize that the selection of dance partners here has nothing to do with skin colour, age or gender. Naturally, men are predominantly paired with women but because of a lack of enough dancing men to go around, women tend to pair up on the dance floor as well. There are some craft shops as well that might pique your interest - take a look around!

Very cool building but unfortunately nothing actually going on. Came here on a Sunday midday - which is in theory prime time - but all studios were shuttered (many with “for sale” signs), and there’s nothing else to see. Having last visited a few decades ago when it felt a bit "cramped", I was very surprised and impressed when we visited this beautiful place on Saturday. As I'm a SADF veteran, I believe the displays and exhibits are well balanced and capture the history very well. I love the feeling of space in the outside area too. Hats off to those who are keeping our rich military history alive. If I was to suggest a few additions, I miss the Buffel and the SAMIL series of trucks. And regarding visitors' overall experiences at the property, perhaps a coffee shop and a curio shop?

A Fascinating Journey into Military History
Last year, I had the privilege of visiting the South African National Museum of Military History, and it was truly an exceptional experience. This museum is a treasure trove for history enthusiasts, offering a captivating collection of old and new military equipment, artifacts, and exhibits.
As soon as I entered, I was immediately struck by the vast array of military equipment on display. From cannons and tanks to planes and helicopters, the museum showcases an impressive assortment of vehicles that span various eras. It was awe-inspiring to see these machines up close and gain a deeper appreciation for their historical significance. I couldn't resist capturing some incredible photos to preserve the memories.
One of the highlights of the museum was the submarine exhibit. Stepping inside and exploring the confined spaces of a real submarine was both thrilling and enlightening. It provided a unique glimpse into the challenging conditions faced by submariners throughout history.
The collection of military aircraft engines was equally fascinating. The museum has meticulously preserved these powerful engines, allowing visitors to marvel at their intricate designs and learn about their critical role in aviation history.
In addition to the impressive machinery, the museum houses an extensive display of weapons, including old guns and machine guns. It was captivating to observe the evolution of these firearms and understand the technological advancements that shaped military tactics over time.
The museum also boasts a remarkable collection of uniforms, showcasing the diverse attire worn by soldiers from different eras and regions. This comprehensive display offered a glimpse into the lives of those who served their countries with honor and bravery.
I am thrilled to share some of the captivating moments I captured during my visit. Please find attached some of the photos I took, which I hope will convey the grandeur and historical significance of this remarkable museum.
Visiting the South African National Museum of Military History was an enriching and thought-provoking experience. I highly recommend it to history buffs, military enthusiasts, and anyone interested in gaining a deeper understanding of our nation's military heritage. Suitable for those who are interested in history, war, vehicles used in war, planes, helicopters. Good for kids. There is an open area where kids can run. There are a lot of benches outside. Taxi drop and pick up is possible in this area.

Visiting the Military Museum in Johannesburg was an eye-opening experience. We were captivated by the impressive display of tanks, weapons, and artifacts used in various World Wars. The detailed history written alongside each exhibit provided invaluable context, enriching our understanding of military conflicts. A must-visit for history enthusiasts and anyone interested in the rich military heritage of South Africa."

very informative with all the writings. although a guided tour would be great. a refreshing corner for coffee and light meals would be wonderful. it'll take half-day to a full day to properly visit all departments, but just remember to save some energy as there is no restaurant on this property

Went there for great experience with 2 primary school children. With loadshedding the halls were closed and we had to turn around. Very disappointing. At least I could take a few pictures through the fence. On the website (that I checked before our long travel there ) there was no mention that loadshedding would result in the halls being closed.
Maboneng Precinct, located in Johannesburg, is a highly creative and vibrant district that offers a diverse mix of shops, restaurants, coffee houses and art galleries. This area boasts of an energetic atmosphere that celebrates cultural diversity and showcases the talents of its people. The place also offers great food options to suit all tastes. The night life here is enjoyable without compromising on safety measures.
Loved the night life here. Didn't feel unsafe as I imagined, but we were obviously careful not to walk around with valuables in sight v

A very nice place to meet friends, socialize and explore. for content lovers: there’s a wide range of restaurants offering different foods and drinks, art galleries and boutique shops. Talk about positive vibes, good energy and a perfect escape. You can not come to Jozi and not visit Maboneng

The main reason I went there was to experience art, culture and shopping but on getting there, the market was closed.
Enquired, and no one seems to know when it would be opened. The food vendor right in the court had a wall of art, but nothing exciting. His menu also wasn't impressive... my heart went out to him cause I am not sure how he is running it profitably.
On the street itself, there were few sellers of native wears, hand-made bead bags, but nothing fancy. Lots of rooftop restaurants with some of their staff calling on you. Sure, it comes alive at night ( I would try this, and maybe my rating can change).

Artsy busy area with nice coffee shops, music, food, and art. Did a little walking tour to check out the street art in the late morning. Really nice artists. Some parts are definitely run down and polluted, though that's how a lot of Joburg is, watch your step when walking. I was a solo female traveler and felt safe. Would be nice to see in the evening when the scene is more hopping.

The Hector Pieterson Memorial and museum is located in Soweto, just two blocks from the spot where 12-year-old Hector was shot on the 16 June 1976 during the student uprising. The museum provides a stark look at life in South Africa during the days of apartheid through exhibits about the history of Soweto and the role of its people in the independence struggle.
Thou a great source of painful memories for black South Africans, it is a truly magnificent monument of historic truth and a display of courage for those who fought for black people to have equal right with white people. Even willing to rist their lives for us.
The tour guide was truly informative and it was awe inspiring to stand were courageous young men and women matched for the future to be brighter we will forever be grateful. Must see.

This place gives you more insight about the soweto uprisings, you get to experience the turmoil that occurred in Soweto. There are pictures and videos that were taken as the events were happening.
You get to relieve that era.
There are also volunteering sight guides who will help you navigate the memorial outside the museum.

I came here early Saturday morning. Before the heap of tourist buses arrives.
The museum is really good 👍 I spend almost an hour just taking it all in my own time.
You can have a guided tour if you want. I didn't feel the need.
It's such a huge historical monument. It's also a very planned layout. If you're a wheelchair user, you'll will not have a problem visiting here. It's incredibly accessible with ramps. Also It's walking distance from the Nelson Mandela house, too. People outside are very friendly and I meet Hectors sister Antoinette!! She does guided tours.

Only visited the outside and got a full explanation of the history and the meaning of the memorial. I'm sure there is a lot more to learn and see, but after visiting the Apartheid Museum just previous to visiting this site, my mind was spinning from learning specifics of the experience of South African Blacks/Natives.
Tien Sydnor-Campbell — Google review
It's quite dull. One has to read to understand the whole message. It would be good if they have guides to quicken the process especially for tourists. The reading is ideal for students not tourists.

I know The Memorial is very very important. I feel sad , because children were killed for no reason. I got depressed. I already knew history, but felt angry again. Memorial is very well organized. No one can turn away from the violence that happened; no one should. Main story is out of the building.
When you visit please do not think it is a museum; whole area is the idea. Try to understand what happened.

Lovely experience. No bookings needed, we paid for 14 tickets upon arrival (R23 for locals and R54 for tourists). A tour guide was provided however he did not take a moment to pause and check if the guests have questions. Our tour guide also expected a tip after the tour.
No pictures are allowed to be taken inside the museum.
Overall a great place, just watch out for scammers!

This place tells the story of how brave youths have fought for freedom and democracy in South Africa, You can actually feel like you were there when it happened because of the emotions the memorial will reveal to you.

The Sci-Bono Discovery Centre offers exhibits and workshops in science, technology, and math for kids 4 to 10 years old. The state of the art climb wall is up and running, with new belay devices for safety. Great place to bring young ones lots of fun activities and they will learn at the same time.

Truly an amazing and educational experience! Finding this jewel in the middle of Jhb city centre, where everything seems dilapidated, dirty and sad, was for sure a great find!
It is an incredible exhibit for young minds to learn about the sciences of the world. 3d Art, dinosaurs, mechanical aspects of vehicles, brain puzzles, workings of electrical circuits and just so much more! It will keep both kids and adults entertained for a whole day! This is definitely a must see for anyone around Jhb.

A great center. A must go for anyone with specially kids.
Needs more advertisements at schools around the country. Can be a wonderful tour for kids.
No age limit. My 3 yo son loved it and spent hours in it.
They sometimes have extra events.
Needs kids friendly toilets/urinals and no soap was in the toilet!
Hygiene as important as other parts of education.
Suggestions:
-Suggestion box wasn’t working too! Although I had nice discussions with two of ladies in different sections.
-Add a books section with science books for kids to sit and read
-A lab section with a microscope and some slides can be a great addition too
-Can be nice if a science communicator to walk around and engage with kids.

Wonderful outing to take the kids on and so much to see and do at the center. Lots of hands on activities, 2 massive climbing walls and loads of educational activities to try out.
There are no signs, directions or maps to guide you through the building so that would be a big help as there is just so much to see and do that you definitely miss a lot of it due to the lack of signs.
Each activity has a clear sign with a description of what it does and kids can follow the instructions to try out the gears, pulleys, motors, buttons, etc. There is definitely enough to keep your kids busy for a few hours if you stop at each item.
We'll be back soon with the rest of the family to visit the sections that we missed.

We just had my son's 5th Birthday party at Sci-Bono and it was honestly nothing short of incredible. The kids were all so entertained by the Slime making workshop, the science show and the short little tour we did of the Centre. We were also very lucky to have part of the planetarium show as we had a space themed birthday. Everyone is still raving how much their kids enjoyed it. I can highly recommend.
The Wits University Origins Centre museum is focused exclusively on the history of mankind and their origins in Africa. They have permanent exhibitions with fossils, genuine stone tools, and other archaeological artifacts from around the continent. If you are interested in evolutionary theory, this is a must-see museum when in Johannesburg.
World class exhibition. Incredible display. The San exhibition is done very well. Great for kids aswell. Allow at least half a day. Lovely coffee shop and food.

A much underrated museum in Johannesburg. Well worth a visit if you are interested in the origins of humans and how the San people developed
If you’re driving, it is tedious to enter the university and then phone to get a code to enter the car park
A good way to spend a couple of hours in Joburg. There was also a tour you could prebook

Amazing Museum. Has replicas of skulls of human species, short films, and tells you about the discoverers. I found it amazing that information was dedicated to San discoverers as well, even though there were no pictures of some of them. The museum will make you feel something emotional, not just educate you, and it's quite large so dedicate a few hours to see everything. I wish I could've spent more time. I was expecting a small exhibition since it was in a university, but now I regret not being able to take my time at each display. Also entrance was free for me as I'm a student and it was the wits parade. I want to go again.

What a beautiful place to visit and be reminded where we come from. Our origins, our ancestors and how far we have come. The things we need to remember and retain because progress does not mean you abandon everything that is old. It simply means you progress while you take some of what is good with you like treating the earth as part of who we are and not this extraction based relationships we have come to have with her. While also being reminded of Ubuntu. The rock art is well preserved and there is such peace in there.

Jeremiah Goddard — Google review
A brilliant experience for scholars and adults alike. The thoroughly engaging interactive tour, presented by the immensely knowledgable and witty Brian, made for an excellent excursion for our learners. Every item in the exhibition was described in such a way as to make it easy for every learner to understand. All the elements in the exhibit were presented in a carefully-considered manner, respectful of the people who were the reason for this educational tour, namely, the indigenous people of South Africa.
In addition to the museum tour, our learners did the Ochre Workshop, organised and presented by Dr Tammy Hodgskiss, with the assistance of some of her students. Our learners discovered that powdered ochre, blended with honey and water, was the paint used on the walls of caves. They ground and blended their own ochre paint and then got to paint their own artwork. This hands-on experience was a superb culmination to what was an outstanding experience that all high school learners should have, especially as it contributes to a clearer understanding of rock art as a part of South African traditional culture.
Well done, Wits!

What a fascinating and informative place with excellent and enthusiast guides. The exhibition is well presented but to get the most out of it, go on a guided tour and it 1.5 hours well spent. We went for the ancestors DNA sample and with the excellent talk and guides tour, let's see what our background tells us. Plenty of parking (weekends) and an on site coffee/snack shop and the place seems popular with kids doing some archeology events when we visited

You could spend an entire day at the Wits Origins Centre Museum with so much of information at your access. The staff are passionate about what they do and always willing to share information and assist you. Definitely a place worth taking children to, and in the process increasing your knowledge too. A gem with many impressed international tourists. Private companies should consider assisting with funding to expand this museum.
The Gold Reef City Theme Park is an amusement park located in Johannesburg, South Africa. It has rides and attractions for all ages and contains some of the most thrilling theme park rides in the country. The amusement park is famous for its Crown Mines tour, which takes you down an abandoned shaft from where gold was mined centuries ago.
Amazing place to visit but I have to say plan in advance for this place, step one arrive very early to catch almost all the busy rides, like Anacondas, the trains and so on, 30min after the place open expect to wait about 30 to 1:30min for a single ride that last a minute. Be prepared to walk a lot, like a lot of walking is required there. The 4D experience was amazing just that they have one movie you can not make a choice, I love the fact that you bring your own food and you can buy food in there too. Online purchase is recommended when you arrive, so if you already know you are going buy ticket online. The part I don’t get is both adult and kids pay R250 even though there are rides the kids can not have access to. I have to say overall it’s ideal place to visit. I enjoyed myself after.
Sifiso Nkosinathi Nobela — Google review
Without a doubt a fantastic place to come. I don't know anywhere else in Africa to go for a theme park that comes close to this. I do suspect the staff of keep rides closed for a while for people not to have continuous rides. If you can come on a slow day it is very enjoyable. Especially if enjoy getting a rush from the free falling feeling. There are rides for the whole family and restaurants all over. Even carnival games some of which are very unlikely to win anything. Some are easy wins

Still nice place to see and feel the vibe of humans relaxing. The biggest problem us waiting to get into rides. Could barely manage a few during the day. Advice to all find a day it is not so busy.

Cleverly out together, this disused open shaft mine cum now theme park caters well for children and those who are children at heart for all things playful. It's definitely not for the faint hearted and most of the rides are for the taller (above 1.5m I think) kids. There is also a kids section for the toddlers and infants.
Mzime Murisa — Google review
I took my niece on Friday, 8 April 2022, her first time. It was enjoyable. It wasn't too busy. We paid R250 pp, that was a bit steep to be honest. She's 9yrs old, that was a bit much. We had tons of fun and made use of most of the rides. The lady at the ticketing place selling tickets for the Gold pour and the mine tour is a rude and miserable individual, certainly not the kind to be at a theme park and dealing with patrons. The gentleman at the Gold pour exhibition directed us to her to purchase our tickets. He was the most polite, friendliest people, along with the lady who did our tour of the mine. Those two deserve an accolade, they made our experience exceptional.

My family and I were booked in at the theme park hotel. Staff were friendly. The hotel room was fine. As for the swimming pool water, well that was green so my husband and kids could not swim in it.
My kids were thrilled to go on rides, watch 4D videos etc. However the queues are ridiculously long. Sadly there is no exception for those staying inside the theme park. It would be nice if they could give hotel residents access to the rides an hour before opening to the public.
There should be a limitation on the amount of people allowed access daily into the theme park so that everyone gets to make use of the rides instead of standing tirelessly (during a heatwave) in queues to get on.
People are allowed in from around 9am/9:30am but the gates to the rides aren't open so you have to start queuing already which I find really annoying. To top it off they close the gates to rides from around 4pm when the theme park closes @ 5pm. I do understand that this is within the peak season however I seriously hope management does something about this.

I have very fond memories of coming here in my childhood, so I was rather excited to visit as an adult ( I'm still short, but tall enough for the rides now). Besides the historical attractions for which is famed, recent upgrades and additions have been made turning out into a proper theme park. We went on a weekday to avoid the crowd, it was still pretty busy with a few school day trips taking place and bus loads of tourists. The rides provide enormous fun for ppl of all ages. You are well catered for regarding food, as there are kiosks and restaurants dotted about. For those with no interest in the park, there is also a hotel and casino.
Seanan Wai — Google review
You have to buy your tickets online, which, for me, makes things more convenient. There are the friendliest guys on stilts, painted gold, wearing mining type outfits, helping and directing people to where they must go, the line at the kiosk to get the tickets wasn't long and the staff are very friendly and efficient so it moves quickly. I got in free because it was my birthday and you get a separate line for that ticket which also moved fast.... had the best day, great food available all over, the lines for the adult rides were a bit insane but I didn't go for that, walked around, explored the "city" the fun train was cool with the tunnel that turns, kinda makes it feel like the train is tipping, my son (6) had a blast on the kids rides and before we knew it the day was over.... I guess time does fly when you're having fun!
Leigh-Anne Frame — Google review
We had an absolute blast!!
The Online Ticket booking is convenient and fast and definitely helps the queues at the entrance going very fast and efficient.
The only downside of our visit was definitely the extremely long lines at the rides, we had to wait 40 minutes to an hour for the rides but I do take in consideration that it was the first day of the school holidays. It was very crowded. It's also very frustrating when the boards cleary states "no place keeping" and crowds of people move past you to their friends infront of you making you wait even longer. I do suggest that the staff be more strict about this.
Other than that, all the rides worked!
The staff from the gates to the operators at the rides were very friendly.
The bathrooms are very clean which is very impressive if you take in account the amount of people there during the day so big thumbs up on that!
Huge variety of restaurants and places to buy cool drinks and snacks during the day.
It's a nice outing for friends and for the whole family with the rides and games for the kids as well.
Overall nice experience!

We had the absolute best time spending the day here. Remember to buy the tickets online and get there early and even when you do this, you will have to queue for wristbands to enter the theme park. I suggest doing the most popular rides early to avoid crazy long queues. I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of rides available. Lots of places to eat. Clean bathrooms. Even though the tickets are pricey, it is value for money. My kids had a blast and I felt young again.

Lastly , for those who want to throw their little ones a party, there is a very nice venue there.

Gold Reef City has always been a popular theme park. The roller coaster rides provide your body with an adrenaline rush, making you feel alive. A scream of joy, fear, and exhilaration!
The park is very clean and well maintained, and there are plenty of food stalls throughout the park for you to choose from!
I would not recommend visiting the park during the holidays because there are far too many people, especially during the December holidays, and you end up standing in line for hours and only being able to ride a few of the rides! Try to go on a Thursday or Friday when it is a little quieter. Then you can truly enjoy the exciting rides!
Remember to book online and to wear comfortable shoes.

Great day of fun! Rides for all tastes and preferences in a very cool setting, where the Joburg history comes to life. Well worth a visit. Waiting time for the rides could be improved a little, if the turnaround between rides is improved/more carts are added back to service.

Had a fantastic, thrilling experience today. The rides make your heart beat faster. If you're a thrill and adrenaline seeker, then Gold Reef City Theme Park is the place to be
Zwelisha Brian Langa — Google review
Decided to have an adults day out at the theme park. I haven't been for over 10 years, and I was pleasantly surprised by how the park still runs. The park is incredibly clean (including the toilets), the rides are fun, there are so many places to eat. The entry fee is a bit steep, but if you intend on going on all the rides then it's worth it. The food places are average priced.
The only issue was the wait for the rides and for food, but we also visited on a public holiday so it was understandably busy.
All in all it was a great day out. Kids love it, but expect to fork out a lot of money for the day, so budget and save wisely beforehand.
Siara Moodley — Google review
1. Go in the morning! Or else you only do 2 rides and queing the whole day.
If you want to enjoy the rides, do not go on a public holiday or month end... go on a random day during the week.
2. Don't carry a handbag. Be free and ready to have fun.
3. They sell food.

Fun for Everyone at Gold Reef City!
This was my first time visiting Gold Reef City as a dad with my kids. It was a fantastic experience for everyone! The rides in the kid's area were clean, well-maintained, and perfect for little ones. The kids had a blast.
Another big plus is the new online ticketing system. It's convenient and saves time waiting in line. However, I did notice a potential issue with redeeming tickets if someone in your group can't make it. To avoid this hassle, I recommend planning carefully and buying tickets for the exact number of people attending. If you're unsure, consider getting smaller group tickets. That way, if someone has to miss out, you can redeem the ticket on another visit.
In short, Gold Reef City is a great place for a family day out. The rides, cleanliness, and online ticketing system all impressed me. Just be mindful of the ticket redemption policy when planning your trip.
Oh, and no food or drinks can be “imported”.

Had a great time!
We went through on the Friday and slept over in the theme park hotel and then spent the Saturday as well. We went after the peak season so it was nice and quiet with no waiting lines which was nice for the children. All the staff that we spoke to were very friendly and accommodating. The place was so clean and well looked after.
When sleeping over you get access to the park. I would suggest price wise to rather spend a night there and get access to the park for 2 days.
Would definitely visit again.
The Mandela House, also known as the Nelson Mandela National Museum, is a museum located in Johannesburg that is dedicated to preserving the history of the Mandela family. The house was their former residence from 1946 until the 1990s when it was donated to the Soweto Heritage Trust. It is a must-visit place for those interested in learning more about one of South Africa's most iconic figures and his achievements.
Very interesting experience, although Nelson Mandela didn’t lived in this house for long, the information from documentation to awards is well displayed.
It is very positive that the price includes the guide but in the end you need to tip them.
S?nia Esteves — Google review
We had an historic experience there. If you’re visiting the place, it’s best to have a guide who would be explaining the ins and outs of the house.
Especially some of the memorabilia inside the house, our guide explained the belt he got from Sugar Ray Leonard, the letter in the cupboard, the setup of the house, the fire bombing of the house, the graves on the house, the umbilical cords of the children.
I’d recommend this for any traveller, especially for those who didn’t get to experience Mandela. You get to be up close and personal and feel like you knew Mandela.
It’s relatively affordable, we went during the Youth Day (16 June) and the fee was R40.

We took our kids here and they had a lot of questions about the furniture in the house. Took us all back in the days when we used coal stoves. The queue to enter was not long and we weren't many inside the house, we could maneuver around easily. What an interesting visit.

Great place to learn the history of Nelson Mandela in a relaxed way. A small cozy home filled with a lot of efucative memories, you can even visualise everything with the pictures that were taken way back. Very smart and well maintained. Friendly guides too. The street has nice restraurants and bars as well. Traditional dancers and so much entertainment. You will need cash with you to tip everyone. I loved the place.

Visiting here is like walking in the footsteps of a great man and through his life. To say the least it is a humbling experience.
The house is small but cosy. The renovations have certainly helped to restore the place and gives one a glimpse of the Mandela family life. The coal stove and bedroom are true replicas.
The volunteers who guide you through the tour shed a lot of light on the history and events associated with the home and family. It is inspiring to think that he came from such a simple background but went on to do such amazing things.
Note there are MANY groups performing traditional dances on the street outside. It’s fun to watch however they do expect a tip for their performance. This can be overwhelming on the wallet.

This is a Great little piece of history to see. My very knowledgeable tour guide , that was found inside the museum, was awesome. You can See her on my last photo.
Charles Dot Smith — Google review
Our guide was a very knowledgeable college student/docent who shared a great deal about the history on the outside of the house. Once inside, we were left to roam through the small house on our own, which was actually perfect because it was a typical modest home. It is a glimpse into the past, personal life, and living space of the Mandela family. I appreciate that the family made it into a museum, and the state designated it as historic.
Tien Sydnor-Campbell — Google review
The Location is near the main road, community is so friendly and the area is very safe. The house on the outside has the vintage look and the atmosphere from the yard into the house is so touching, you may end up loosing your self with the amount of history and being inside the house of the heroes

Nice place which is worth visiting. A bit more about the history of one of the most iconic people of the SAR people. Interesting facts about his life, old photos, and achievements of his life will uncover more about Nelson Mandela. Once you are in Soweto it’s worth having a short break also here💪

A walk into the home of one of the greatest men that lived. Hard to imagine that this 300 sq ft home was where Nelson Mandela lived(albeit, briefly). Modest entry fee of 60 rand for adults , a lively well informed guide. Overall , a 30 min walk into history.

Very small but worthwhile museum. Inexpensive entry fee. We opted for a tour guide for tip only. She was a tourism student at a university. It was well worth it as she really added to the museum with commentary and background. Be careful of the surrounding area if you decide to walk around.

This was where Nelson Mandela stayed before he became the President. It is small and compact, about similar size to studio apartment in Singapore. There are student volunteers to provide guided tour. Will take about 30mins for the whole visit. Worth visiting
CJMS — Google review
Interesting to see but definitely wouldn't say it is a must see. The entrance costs 60rand and the house itself is very small with much of the surrounding area full of touristic gifts and restaurants.
If planning to visit, I would recommend that it isn't out of your way because the house itself was underwhelming for me.
Leonard — Google review
Not a lot to see, per say. The building surrounding the house gives the impression that it's a lot to see. It's like any other shack in Soweto. Furniture and some personal items. There are no pictures allowed inside and no video on premises. But having said that. Once you leave out from the house, the whole street is alive and popping. Zulu dancing men in complete costumes. They put on a very energetic show for you. The street vendors are everywhere and will pressure you to buy. Everything is negotiable and worth the hassle. Keep your money close to you, and don't flash large sums. There are guides there that direct you to parking, give him 50 Rands, and it's worth it. He will keep the non vendors from begging you. Can't think of anything else of importance, but as detailed as I am trying to be, nothing compares to the experience. None African pay more for admission. YOLO

The FNB Stadium in Johannesburg, located on Soccer City Ave in Nasrec, is a well-known landmark. Famous for hosting the 2010 soccer World Cup, it has now become a popular venue for major concerts, state events and sports. Its stunning architecture is admired by many with a capacity of 94 736 seats making it one of the largest stadiums in South Africa.

Great atmosphere especially if you attendeding when your team is playing, it's safe to bring your whole family for an even more fun time.
With current Covid 19 regulations the verification process can be tedious if there's huge crowds but the staff were very knowledgeable and quick to process verification.
Overall it's an awesome beautiful venue to attend events at.

Was there for the Imagine Dragons show. It was amazing! Only bad things was that we were waiting in the line to buy food, waited an hour and left without food when the show started. Also when we were leaving, walking back to the busses, the gates were locked and we had to wait quite a while for it to be opened. But the show was stunning.

Great stadium to host massive events, it even provides some protection against weather for an open venue. I would strongly suggest creating a pin for where you park, the circular design makes it difficult to retrace your steps.

This is one of the stadia that was renovated for the iconic FIFA World Cup hosted in 2010.
It is a wonderful stadium located in the South of Johannesburg that hosts soccer, cycling, running, music, expo’s and a number of other events. Whenever an event is going to be hosted at FNB Stadium, just know that it’ll be huge! This is a 90,000 capacity stadium.
Should you attend an event here, get there well ahead of time. There is always plenty of parking available but, again, events hosted here are always massive so get here timeously. In terms of parking fees, some events make you pre-pay for parking, while others allow you to park at the venue. Always have change on hand to pay the car-guards.
The venue is easily accessible off the M1 and N1 highways. Just check with event organisers whether any road-closures are planned.
This venue is also popular with photoshoots. Should you wish to use the outside of the venue, you don’t particularly need a permit; however, should you require a photoshoot within the stadium itself, send a request well ahead of time.
It’s a beautiful venue; a must-see for any visitor to the city of Johannesburg.

Great venue for large events like Monster jam! Loved the seats we had and thoroughly enjoyed the show. Only negatives are that the sound from the commentators were terrible and we could not hear a word they were saying and the food services at the back are also not equipped to handle the large crowds are we were stading in que's for more than an hour just to be helped. For sure something to look into.

This is a brilliant football stadium, designed to lock-in the atmosphere from really huge and passionate crowds, up to 95000 strong. The Calabash is a monument to the hosting of the 2010 World Cup, and is in fact one of the standout successes that serves as a legacy to the country. There is only one game in any of our sporting codes that can really fill this venue, and that is the Soweto derby, one of the biggest games in world football! Road traffic management and better transport options would really assist in avoiding delays in reaching the stadium. Unfortunately one of the best options, namely the rail link from Park station, is no longer viable because of consistent cable theft.
Jim Paterson — Google review
I went to the calabash concert at the stadium, and the event organizers and workers did a really good job at handling so many people in and around the stadium. I was really impressed.
One thing to note is that you must be prepared to pay really high prices for food and drinks. R60 was the lowest price for a drink. For coke and other drinks was around R25 to R30.

FNB Stadium in Johannesburg, known for hosting the 2010 FIFA World Cup final, is a marvel of modern architecture with its African pottery-inspired design. It seats nearly 95,000, offering great views and an electric atmosphere, especially during major football matches and concerts. The stadium is well-equipped with facilities and is easily accessible, though it's wise to plan for traffic during big events. While food and drinks can be pricey, the overall experience is memorable, making it a top destination for sports and music fans in South Africa.

I enjoyed the event I went there for, I however did not like the state of the toilet at the stadium. They were not clean, and they smelled.
Streets lights on the main street (Nasrec) don't work at all. That's a call for concern.
But in a nutshell, it's a beautiful stadium 🏟 I loved it.
Mzabantu Nkosi — Google review
Easily accessible location, lots of parking space- it could do with carports- seats are foldable and clean. The people who scan the tickets are quite friendly and the people who direct you to the level you'll be sitting at are good at maintaining order. The tuckshops sell loads of alcohol and there's people who are selling snacks like biltong & popcorn. The big screen is quite accommodating and the speakers are reasonably audible. The stadium is very clean by the way....10/10 to the cleaners. I can't comment on the toilets though, as I didn't go there.
Christine Nxumalo — Google review
Great looking stadium. The security was not ready to allow people to scan to enter. Scanners were not working at 4 gates. Eventually they let us in. Beautiful stadium, well maintained but the entry system needs to be optimised.

Chaotic arrival and departure for Calabash. Surrounding traffic was horrendous, no clear signage, Uber pick-up almost unachievable.
Ticket system on arrival didn't work.
Ushers inside and outside were clueless.
Would never bother going back to any event at this venue.
Paid R 2 750 per ticket to sit in 3 inches of rainwater and pigeon crap.
A cleaner was coming, we're still waiting.
The Johannesburg Botanical Gardens is a large, peaceful park with gardens and picnic areas that provides a great place to relax and enjoy nature. Beautiful and tranquil place to visit whether you want to ride your bike, take a walk, picnic, feed the ducks or sit by the water (plus more). Don't always feel too comfortable around the rose gardens though as the people that congregate there like to point their cameras in your direction, especially if you are with a female or children. Beautiful and well-maintained with amazing roses and lovely shade under trees to have a picnic! We loved our experience here. However, there was an enormous amount of people here for a lovely Somali wedding and the attendees were so disrespectful and inconsiderate, throwing their empty plastic water bottles and waste all over the garden. It was SHOCKING. They just didn’t care. Such an amazing space and people just treat it like a garbage dump. I was SO disappointed. Other than that, this place is a BEAUTIFUL space to hang out and have a cute picnic with friends.

I remember how beautiful this place used to be as a kid. The gardens are in bad shape and the restaurant is closed for renovations. The grass areas are well mower and decent though. Lots of place to play or walk the dog. It is a pity most people don't respect the public park enough to keep it clean and pick up after their pets. A few selfish people roam the public space with dogs off leash despite bylaws.

There's also fishing and kayaking. There's also the Rose garden and water feature, however the grass is a bit dead because of winter and the water features were off.
There's an information board at the entrance so you have a map of the area.
It does meet up with the dog walking part of Emmerentia dam.
Would be absolutely beautiful in spring.
There's no entrance fee so it's a wonderful free adventure for family and friends. It's really safe so you can bring your children as well.

I was quite surprised and very impressed after our visit. Generally I am not a fan of zoos or similar type places, but decided to take my family to this place for something fun and interning to do. The staff are friendly, the guided tour is really good and the gentleman giving them is fun and engages the people very well, the restaurant is quick and makes good food. We were even allowed to take in our own food!!! Very impressive and just for that we did also buy some drinks and dessert from the restaurant. The animals appear well cared for and the overall impression is good. Only comment is that some minor maintenance and general housekeeping things can be down to improve the look and environment. I adore this place a 5 out of 5 and my quick 2 hour stop turned into 4 hours of good entertainment and relaxation.

Very cool outing for the family. Very informative and the guide knows his stuff. Try to visit on Sundays for the snakeshow, very nicely done.
The service was also very quick and the pizzas more than reasonable
One piece of advice I can give, is that the snake show had quite a longish intro, making it difficult for those with young kids to keep their attention. Sharing that information while demonstrating with a non venomous could keep the attention of the crowd more.
All in all, a very fun experience, there are bucket loads of tortoises roaming, which the kids love, big playground, and some large crocs to keep everyone entertained

The animals are cared for well. The reptile show had an informed ranger who knew what he was talking about!
The restaurant area is however infested with flies so we could not enjoy much of our food or drinks. They ran out of prints for the flyover certificates which was annoying but they emailed me soft copies after I requested. The gift/ curio shop is ridiculously overpriced. Worth a visit. Eat at home

A fun experience, my son loved interacting with the snakes and baby croc. The presentation is quite info light, good for small kids but I would've preferred a bit more. The food might be good but the smell from the croc pens puts me off ordering anything to eat.

We were lucky enough to celebrate Henry’s 123rd birthday with him! The park gave everyone cupcakes and made it so festive. The staff were kind, friendly and so helpful. They told us stories and gave us a lot information. The parks clean and has a lot crocs and the other animals are definitely a bonus. We got to hold a baby croc which was such a treat. A professional photographer took our pic Wyand Grobler and sent it to us, this was definitely an added surprising bonus! Thank you to everyone at croc world and keep doing the good work that you all do.

It was an interesting and educational experience being here and interacting with the animals: snakes, baby crocodiles, rabbits, tortoises, and iguanas 🐢🐊🐇🦎. Just being unlucky, I wasn't able to touch the tarantulas since they said the guy who's handling the tarantulas wasn't there at that time. Mostly he comes somewhere on the weekends, I suppose? I was there during the week, though.
They do have quite a lot of snake and reptile collections in their enclosures.
You can get some animal feed on the spot (that you can feed the rabbits and tortoises; it's fun).
There's a place where you can get some pizza, drinks, etc. BTW, please bring your sunhat during your visit; it's pretty hot out there.

Lovely place , seeing the crocs. The guide was super knowledgable and accommodating. The animals are well caredfor and the place is clean.
Monte Casino Ten Pin Bowling is a top-rated bowling alley that offers an enjoyable experience for families and friends. The staff is exceptional, providing friendly and helpful service to ensure guests have a good time. One of the highlights of this venue is its location away from the arcade section, which prevents children from being distracted by other games. Moreover, Monte Casino's cleanliness and efficient management make it stand out among others in the area.
I had a fantastic time at the bowling alley! The place is not only visually appealing but also well-maintained. The ambiance is lively, and the staff is friendly and accommodating. The lanes are in great condition, and the overall atmosphere makes it a perfect spot for a fun night out with friends or family. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a great bowling experience.

The staff are rude and unhelpful especially the person behind taking the bookings. We waited over 45minutes because half the alleys were not working. When we did get to play the game kept freezing and you have to go call someone who is very uninterested. In one game it froze over 4 times. Never again..

We had a fun evening here. However the people next to us did not know the first rule of tenpin bowling. I.e. Don't throw the ball that it ends up bouncing in the alley. We complained to the staff but they didn't seem interested. A massive maintenance cost could be avoided if you trained your staff on how to bowl. It's also very off-putting watching this total disregard of common sense on how to bowl. I'll be trying out a different Ten Pin bowling alley next time.
Furthermore the maintenance guy must have gone to fix the mechanism in our lane 3 times in the space of the 30 min.

What am amazing experience! 11-12 Bowling alleys, clean, and spacious. Wonderful family fun! Keep it up!
It's very popular with long quues to book and pay so get there early!

The staff are friendly and really try hard. However, management's rules are rediculous and causes chaos in every aspect that involves customer service... From the long winding single queue to write down names on paper to be captured on a desktop, to payment and buying a cold drink. Once you've paid, you are left to figure it out on your own. The inability to prebook on weekends is rather silly and so is the inability to book more than one round. No side rails up for children. You need to ask.
Perhaps improved use of electronics can help here, such as simple touch pads to log your own details to book, more user friendly queue system, auto pay, etc. Will not return.

Fun and affordable. However we asked if we can book our lane for 2 games then they told us we can play and decide if we want to play another game then just go pay again. When we tried that, they had already booked our lane out for someone else and no other lanes were available for the rest of the night. Before we even finished our game, the group after us were already sitting at our table with our jackets and shoes, and standing around where we need to bowl. It was highly uncomfortable.

Fun date night.
Tip for the long acrylic girlies 💅🏽 Don't stick your fingers in, hold the ball & in both hands 🎳 Or use that other mechanism, Idk what it's called, but have fun 😝

Its the second time I arrive, just to be told they closed. The first time I arrived at 10pm and this time I arrived at 9:15pm just to be told they already closed. I then referred them to their very own poster that says last games at 22:15.

This is my very best Spar - lovely staff and such a clean store.
The bakery and pancakes are just the best.
Motherland has also become one of my favourite coffee shops.
The Breve is just amazing.

Lovely spot to spend time with kids, friends and family. But the staff are not motivated, and take away from the experience with their general sense of boredom and lack of customer service or training. I would rate the place 5 stars, if the staff added to the experience.

I beat my friend at ten pin bowling, she will never hear the end of it. It's a nice place, very organised and it's child friendly.

It was my first time bowling and I had a great time! I love the fact that you can choose to wear bowling shoes, keep your socks on or go barefoot! The services and the facilities were good!

I really enjoyed this place. My daughter had her 13th birthday here.
First, shoutout to the staff- incredible. So friendly and helpful, I can truly say they contributed to a good experience! The day went smoothly and the kids really enjoyed themselves.
I like that this place is set apart from the arcade. With others they’re meshed and the kids get distracted by the arcade games. It’s also extremely clean and well managed!
There are bowling alleys closer to my home but I’ll keep coming back to this one

The queue is horrendous. It’s a nice place to hang and play but I stood in the queue for 30min, by the time I got to the ticket point of sale, I couldn’t purchase tickets cause they said it was full. We eventually left when we were told to wait another 25min. If there’s a pre booking system perhaps??? Maybe that could work.

The Pieter Toerien Theatre is a performing arts venue that offers a diverse range of shows and performances. One such show, Mzansi Ballets A Cinderella Story with Cathy Specific, was a unique blend of ballet, drag and Abba songs, and was well received by the audience. The theatre itself is cozy and comfortable with excellent sound quality, while seating arrangements have been adjusted to adhere to social distancing guidelines.
Great theatre and so lovely to be back watching shows again! We watched Mzansi Ballet’s A Cinderella Story with Cathy Specific. An interesting fusion of ballet, drag and Abba songs. Was a great night out. Can highly recommend and will be back!

Just want to give a huge shout out to Darryl in front office who helped me with changing my tickets 3 times for a large family group (various reasons...family date clash and webticket issue and also show cancellation) Darryl was so friendly and accommodating. Geraldine was also very helpful. Appreciate the great service!
The show by Alan Committee was the laughter tonic we all needed. He was absolutely brilliant. We were laughing the whole way through at his witty, relevant satire and skits . He has
amazing energy..loved the way he engaged with the audience. Can't wait for Alan's next show

Enjoyed such a lovely Sunday at the Montecasino theatre. I went to see Firefly with a my friends and we haven't been to a show in a while so we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The show Firefly was directed by Tony Bentel and it was a lovely performance. I would definitely recommend this. We enjoyed ourselves very much.

An amazingly intimate experience that embodies the classic live interactive theater. With truly outstanding local performances, showcasing the best South African talent. Ideally situated at Monti Casino, with safe parking, restaurants, hotels, and much more for a night out. Highly recommend.

We watched Mzansi Ballet Swan Lake at this cozy 400 seated Theatre.
The ballet Swan Lake is arguably the world's most popular classical ballet and for Ballet lovers the brand new Mzansi Ballet production will include the Black Swan pas de deux, the White Swan pas de deux, the cygnets and the big swans.
The exploration of the character of the magician, Von Rothbart, performed by the acclaimed Naledi award-winner, Ms Cathy Specific. Brendan van Rhyn will form part of this exciting new production. The ballet will be staged and choreographed by Angela Revie and Liane Lurie and will be directed by Dirk Badenhorst.

My favourite theatre 🎭❤️ the seats are great for the fuller frame.
I would love it if you banned 🚫 the use of cameras in the theatre, as it's very distracting and just rude to the performers and audience.
We look forward to the next show.

Brilliant performance that is an absolute must watch, Amadeus. The acting is brilliant and the storyline of Mozart so captivating. Well done to the cast and team that shared this touch of brilliance with us.

Service before the show is good. They also delay the show if there is a long que at the popcorn or drinks line. The best seat is the top balcony right at the end 🙌. There are some shows that are kid friendly, so this is a plus.
The only concern is that the seats fold automatically. So if you don't have enough weight you can't sit comfortably. My daughter is still quite small, so I sat holding her chair down the entire show. Was really annoying, hence the 4 star.
Nevertheless, she loved it ♥️.

Although a smaller theatre, the shows are of great standard and the sound and lighting is good. Staff are helpful and friendly.
Drinks and snacks are available for purchase and the restrooms are clean.
*The theatre can do with a good deep clean (especially the seats), but otherwise it's good.
