Baiturrahman Grand Mosque is a stunning religious site built in 1879 with seven black domes, seven minarets and a towering 35m-high tower. The mosque's walls are painted in striking white which contrasts beautifully with the ebony-black domes and minarets. Visitors can witness the grandeur of this 19th-century masterpiece during Friday-afternoon prayers when it is filled with people.
Really a beautiful mosque. So grandiose. I personally love the overall architecture, and black color of the domes. Magnificent structure. Enter only with proper Moslem apparel.

I stopped at this mosque while on a motorbike touring trip. This mosque is truly magnificent, the area is large, the quality of the building is very good and it is kept clean. The officer at the front was also very friendly and very helpful. It's really comfortable to pray at this mosque.

This place reminds me so much of the great Taj Mahal, because its beauty and similarities. Everywhere is beautiful, adorable architecture, and you cant help not to join the visitors doing pray. Eventhough its forbidden to come in shorts and not covering your head for women, they will lend you some sarongs or head scarf to make you appropriate.

The mosque had some great history, such as about the kingdom, tsunami, and etc.
The mosque was one of the best mosque in Aceh. It had great design in and out door. And if you wanna get parking, there's any parking area bottom of this mosque. You would not worry about the toilet, there's any bottom of mosque area also.
But If you wanna come to this mosque. Make sure that you wear the polite clothes. For example, woman wear the long skirt, long shirt and t shirt and veil. You can't enter to this mosque if you are not wearing that kind of the clothes. For man, make sure you wear long trousers.
And, if you get adzan , you can't stay around the mosque, you must pray and for the girls who can't pray because the reason. You must stay bottom of this mosque. You can't go out before the praying finished.
So, that's rule for keep the mosque pure as the place for praying, not just for destination.

Such peaceful to be here. As a moslem, finding Aceh as one of the prestigious cities when it comes to Sharia law. Where I am from, we were taught about Qanun which has a lot to do with Sharia based law in Aceh.
Masjid Baiturrahman seems to have a nice view to visit, not only to do your prayers, but also visiting the library right on the left side of the building. Also in the afternoon I luckied out finding the kids who are attending the religious session with their elderly. Such a peaceful atmosphere.

Ulee Lheue Beach, once devastated by the Tsunami 17 years ago, has become a popular leisure spot for locals. The beach is surrounded by breakwaters which make the sea waves calm and perfect for swimming or taking a walk along its white sandy shores. During sunset, the view is breathtaking with the sun positioned between Bukit Barisan's end hills. There are also affordable culinary outlets in the area.

I still remember 17 years ago when I came to this place a week after the Tsunami that devastated Aceh, including this beautiful beach. Now Ulee Lheue has become a favorite place by local residents for leisure, especially in the afternoon until dusk or Maghrib prayer. The view during sunset is really amazing when the position of the sun is between the end hills of Bukit Barisan.
The sea waves are not big because the beach is surrounded by breakwaters. So we can take a walk along the white sandy beach, swim or enjoy a duck paddle ride with our partner, family or friends. There are also culinary outlets where the prices for food and drinks are inexpensive.
What needs to be fixed here are the problem of garbage everywhere and the orderliness of the vehicle parking.

The entire country/bay/villages wiped out, diminished, killed almost all of its inhabitants, but even the water did not touch the mosque's interior. Allaahu Akbar!
Now the area remains empty. Majority of its people were dead. The remaining survivors, reluctant to stay there, although Turkey's government has built housings, complete with electricity, etc.
The area shown in the picture was villages full of houses. Now it's just become green just recently. Previously, even trees didn't live. The tsunami water was said to be poisonous.

Yapsss, that is Museum Tsunami Aceh. This Museum was designed by Ridwan Kamil , an Indonesian architect and politician who is the 15th Governor of West Java.
This place is built for memorizing all people who died because of tsunami and for reminding us that Allaah Almighty, We are nothing without Allah's help :'(
This Museum opens everyday except Friday, at 9 am - 4 pm. If prayer time comes, this museum will close for an hour.
Before you enter, you need to pay IDR 5.000/ person.
Parking fee : IDR 2.000 (for motorcycles)
IDR 5.000 (for cars)
I walked from Grand Mosque Baiturrahman till here. It took around 15 minutes. Haha. That was very exhausted but happy. If you were me, you wouldn't do that 😂
This place is really dark and bring us to the atmosphere on Sunday Morning, December 2006, 24 when tsunami happened :'( .
At the first alley, you can feel some water flows the walls. You can watch video how tsunami happened and destroyed many houses :'((.
There is chamber of blessing. This chamber is circle and there are many names of deceased around the wall.
Some possessions damaged by the tsunami are displayed in this museum. Some flags from different countries are displayed in the museum too, to tell us that many volunteers from other countries help them. They care about people here :'). Thank you so much
Oh ya, You can buy many souvenirs here.
Last but not least, don't forget to visit this Museum.

The Tsunami Museum commemorates the tsunami that struck Southeast Asia in 2004. Banda Aceh was the most affected location, with over 160,000 deaths. It's an impressive visit, especially when you enter. You walk through a damp corridor and hear the sound that was heard when the tsunami hit the city.
As a museum, it's not very large. There are many photos showing the condition of the city after the tsunami. And there are certain messages that are a bit questionable from my perspective (for example, there is a photo of the undamaged mosque with the surrounding area in ruins and a message mentioning divine intervention. But is it really a divine matter or a question of construction quality? I suppose it depends on one's beliefs).
In any case, if you're in Banda Aceh, the museum is a must-visit.

Putroe Phang Park is the park of the Kingdom of Aceh Darussalam which was founded by Sultan Iskandar Muda (1607-1636) for his empress Putroe Phang who came from the Kingdom of Pahang. The original name of this park is Taman Ghairah as mentioned in the Bustanus Salatin book. This park was built because the sultan really loved Princess Pahang and so that the empress would not be lonely when the sultan lived the government. The construction of the park is said to have been a request from Putroe Phang, the king's daughter, who was brought to Aceh by Sultan Iskandar Muda after the conquest of the Pahang kingdom.
Inside this park, there is the Pinto Khop, a small dome-shaped gate that is the door that connects the garden to the palace. Pinto Khop is a place to rest for Princess Phang, after being tired of swimming, it is located not far from Gunongan, where the ladies wash her hair. When I went to Aceh, this tomb is not at my list of visiting. But afterwards this tomb became my first visit during my holiday in Aceh. So im planning to visit nearby tourism place, but get lost to this tomb. Miracle happened
I'm not Moslem. When I go pray to my religion, I got insight to take one of the small rock (yeah this is actually prohibited), then give charity on the complex 50k rupiah.
Firstly i took one small rock. Then thinking why should I gave 50k, too much. But.... At the end I gave 50k as well.
1. Inside the tomb 20k
2. At the holy water place 20k
3. For the man who take care the tomb 10k
It is a miracle
Then after 4 months. I got disease, I go to doctor but comes out of nothing. My body go more sick. At one night when I go pray, it is visible again on my pray the one whose I looked when I pray at Syeikh kuala tomb. He wear white t-shirt, use surban.. he said take the small rock you have taken before.
After I take , I put on my hand, then pray to my God. Suddenly slowly but sure (takes time 3 days) my body get well again. And when I hold the rock, the rock very warm, meanwhile outside is cold.
Believe it or not. But this is by the grace by God Allah through Syeikh Kuala.
I promise to visit the tomb once again and give more support.
NB I live at Eastern Indonesia. Very far.... Just hope by pray, u can be here very soon
Thank , god blessing

(Translated by Google) A place that is often visited by people who, when there is a celebration, want to know the history or many other things (depending on their individual intentions), some even come to just find peace, even with family, friends, even alone.
Come visit guys...

(Translated by Google) Visiting the Syiah Kuala Cemetery at the end of Banda Aceh. Hearing the story, perhaps it could be called a miracle, which is difficult to understand logically, but this is a miracle. Meet the khodam in this tomb. Interesting to me. Talking for a moment that khodam for this meal cannot change hands, it must be passed down from generation to generation. I don't know what history is behind it. Because the visit wasn't long enough. Hopefully one day I can return to this place. Hear more stories to accept logic.

Mengunjungi Makam Syiah Kuala diujung Banda Aceh.
