The Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen is a prestigious art museum located in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. It holds a remarkable collection of paintings, sculptures and other arts from the medieval period until the 21st century. Highlights include works by renowned masters such as Rubens, Rembrandt, Monet, Degas and Van Gogh.
An incredible piece of art!
We only passed by on our last day in Rotterdam, yet it was one of the most exciting places we had seen during our trip. It is mind blowing to look at and you only understand it when you’re actually there. Pictures are not enough.

Very large and varied collection. Everything from retro objects to works of the greatest artists from medieval times up to now. The depot (museum) is a great location, very much an artwork itself. Very much recommended.
Brandy Cools — Google review
Impressive building with a art world to be discovered. I can recommend a free guided tour. It will help you to understand the building, the collection and the way they store.
Dirk Breedveld — Google review
My family and I had a delightful visit to Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen, which proved to be an enriching and educational experience for all of us. The museum's architecture is a marvel in itself, with the mirrored façade reflecting the dynamic Rotterdam skyline, creating a futuristic and inviting presence in the city. Inside, the art collections were impressive, featuring a wide array of masterpieces from old master paintings to modern and contemporary art, as well as decorative arts and industrial design. Bear in mind that most of the exhibits are stored and cannot be seen!
We particularly enjoyed the interactive exhibits that provided deep insights into the preservation and restoration of artworks. It was fascinating to learn about the different climate zones within the depot and how they cater to the varied needs of different types of art. The guided tour was a highlight, offering us a behind-the-scenes look at the museum's operations, which was both informative and engaging.
The museum's approach to displaying art, including the use of Lina Bo Bardi’s ‘glass easels’ to show the front and back of paintings, was innovative and provided a unique perspective on the artworks. This transparency in showcasing the provenance and history of the pieces added depth to our understanding and appreciation of the art.
Overall, Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen is not just a museum but a living, working building where art is actively cared for and studied. Our visit was not only enjoyable but also left us with a greater appreciation for the art and the stories behind each piece.

I couldn’t get tickets to enter, but went to see it from outside and at night they have nice illuminations on the floor, and the architecture and door details was great to appreciate without entering the building though.

Actually it is open now, but there is construction works near by. It is nice gallery with modern shop. You should buy a ticket in advance because it’s popular place. After 8:30 guard can let you on the rooftop for free. There are restaurant and nice view point. You can watch cool light show after sunset near by entrance.

Boijmans is great. It's modern, different and makes you think. The building itself is worth a picture and it also offers a great view from the rooftop and the possibility for a coffee and something nice. Do make reservations beforehand online.

It didn’t cost me to much.

This museum is closed for years now, and it will remain closed for years to come (no reliable planning, lack of funding, corrupion). The recent reviews here are in fact about the futuristic Depot (the storage of the works of art, most of them not on view) and NOT about the museum.

We were hurrying and didn’t have enough time (will return 😊)
Very interesting to visit, but very crowded.
Some masterpieces make you breathless
And modern art is impressive & interesting!
But most of all I was impressed by corridor of rooms with artworks - it’s really shake your brain))))
Nice & interesting place to visit!

Don’t recommend to visit. It looks like a bad joke: there are famous paintings but you couldn’t see it due to it’s a storage. Only some of them in “highlights”. It’s hard to describe the disappointment. If it’s a museum, IKEA is a museum too.

Great experience! Absolutely stunning building, their expositions are well thought through.
They have a good selection of old Dutch masters.
Staff is very friendly and helpful and everything is in descriptive English for non Dutch speakers.
Amtosphere is great, only walking through the building and their pavilion is worth the trip. They also occasionally have some pop up expo in their garden.

The Sonneveld House Museum showcases Dutch Functionalism in its architecture, design and interiors, making it one of the most interesting museums in the Netherlands. It is a must-see for anyone who loves architecture and art!
A great example of a house from the 1930s. The authenticity and uniqueness are fascinating.

Beautiful museum of villa build around 1930. The audio guide is really good and explains each room very well, they accept museumcard. The different rooms have for the 1930s a modern interieur but most importantly it is also functional. Also interesting is the fact that one of the rooms has a modern shower with many exits for the water which was extremely new for that time.
F. Nobels — Google review
Built in the Dutch Functionalist style, this is the most remarkably preserved example of the style. Everything is so meticulously displayed that you can almost move in! A must-visit if you are in Rotterdam.

This place was a great visit. The house consists of a tour through a 1933 home noted for its modernist architecture, with free audio tours of its period interiors.
You get the idea of how the family lived here back then, and what’s the most incredible thing they moved here leaving all their possessions behind to start fresh with a fully modern furnished house for that time. Many gadgets and interesting things are still used nowadays, some stuff is so high end that we hardly ever see it today in everybody’s home.
I truly believe that this will be a great visit for everyone. The house is bigger than it seems and it is really interesting.

If you love architecture and interior design this is the place for you! A fantastic trip to a functionalist dutch architecture house. The staff is friendly, the guided audio tour works well, just make sure to go on a sunny day to get the best out of the natural light washing the interior of the house in warm tones! The house is like a portal to another time that has been rarely preserved elsewhere. It's clear to see influences from the 1930s on design and trends in the 80s, 90s and today.

The Erasmus Bridge is a famous, 800-meter long suspension bridge that spans the River Nieuwe Maas in Rotterdam. Designed by Ben van Berkel, the bridge is often used as a symbol of Rotterdam and has been nicknamed The Swan.
Nice place for taking photos next to a huge constructed bridge. The most amazing is the view of ships and boats passing through the river. It is one of the largest ports in Europe. Actually it has captured me than Hamburg port in Germany. The skyline is also breathtaking. You take a brunch near the coastline and enjoy the view. However, it is a bot cold at night so take a jacket.

It's a very beautiful bridge specially at the time of sunset when the sun shines on it from one side. Watch the boats and merchant ships pass under the bridge, watch the giant cruise ship that's parked just near the bridge are some of the activities you could do to spend time on it.

The best sunset spot in Rotterdam. You can’t go wrong with some snacks and a beer. Walk along the waters edge and take in a little bit of nature inbetween the urban landscape that surrounds you. Truly a magnificent architectural structure to admire.

Beautiful at sunset!!! (around 9.00 - 9.30 PM, check the time beforehand)
On my walk along the bridge in the evening, I enjoyed the pleasant breeze and the great views of cruise ships and modern buildings all along the way. Both ends of the bridge have shops and restaurants, as well as some water activities. The water and buildings turned golden at sunset.

The main city bridge over de Nieuwe Waterweg, the main water dividing Rotterdam in South and North.
If you can, walk or cycle over it. And stop to enjoy a good sniff of the city.
The Euromast observation tower offers 360 degree views from its top floor suites, including of Rotterdam's harbor. Hotel guests can enjoy a luxurious breakfast in bed here, and take in the sights from a viewing platform by staying in one of the two suites.
Might have been a little silly to go here on the coldest and rainiest day, but was an excellent way to wrap up our time in Rotterdam. The panoramic elevator is a must see to truly take in all the city has to offer, and I really recommend going at night. The lights are incredible! Do be mindful of the outer walks as the floors are made of brick that wiggle and make things a little scary!

Great views, no queues. Quick and easy to do. Nice park at the bottom.
Water taxi stop right beside it.
A bit pricey (€12) for a short experience(1 hour) but worth doing.

Great viewpoint in Rotterdam. A first elevator brings you to the intermediate terrace and for extra 7 €, you can enter the rotating cabin that takes you to the top of the tower. Thrilling!
Bernhard Runkel — Google review
I have vertigo but my date REALLY wanted to go up there. If you have vertigo yo *can* go all the way, just make sure to use the elevator from the observation deck by the restaurant to the lift that takes you to the top, the other option is taking the steps and I barely managed to go up. Still, was lucky enough to get there by sunset and the views are breathtaking. The fact you can choose to block the view on the floor was a nice touch. Amazing place. Loved it.
M “Kelly” Barquero — Google review
Except for the panoramic restaurant and the rooms, where you can stay, Euromast is offering other activities as well. The rotating platform of the tower is giving you an incredible 360 view of Rotterdam. It can be reached by an elevator from the panoramic platforms, which are at 98m. and 112m. hight. The elevator then takes you to a hight of 185m., where you sit and enjoy the view. Actually, when you go on the rotating platform it will rotate 360 degrees twice, so, if you missed something the first time, you have one more chance to see it. There is also rappelling from the lower panoramic platform, which by itself is quite an adrenaline rush. It's worth visiting.

Euromast offers breathtaking panoramic views of Rotterdam that are simply mesmerizing. The best time to visit is during sunset, when the city is bathed in a warm golden glow. The sight is truly unforgettable. The tower provides an unparalleled vantage point to admire the city's skyline and surrounding landscapes. A must-visit for any visitor to Rotterdam.
Euromast is an iconic observation tower located in Rotterdam, Netherlands. Standing at a height of 185 meters, it is one of the tallest structures in the city. Built in 1960, Euromast was originally constructed for the Floriade, a horticultural exhibition. Over the years, it has become a symbol of Rotterdam's modern skyline and a popular tourist attraction. The tower offers visitors the opportunity to enjoy stunning 360-degree views of the city and its surroundings, making it a highlight for both locals and tourists alike.
R D — Google review
The view is amazing but the experience is not well organized. You buy an upgrade ticket for ride to the top and reserve a time, but when you get there you need to wait 45min in a line at the deck in the middle of the tower with a crazy wind
Juli?n Scutari — Google review
Great views of Rotterdam and extra can be paid to go all the way to the top of the spire in a sat down spinning section. There's a glass floor option with this that can be toggled on and off at.your feet if you're not a fan. A good experience but can be very busy with queues. Recommended to book a timeslot before coming and go walk in the park beforehand. You will have to queue for the top lift bit no matter what, no time slot booking for that to walk on.
Lewis Boden — Google review
Great view from the platform. Also great experience in the euroscoop cabin! And even better, if you wanna go to the restaurant, make sure you go when it's getting dark. The city gets beautiful with all the lights!
Anderson Peccin da Silva — Google review
Transmitter mast with an observation deck and restaurant about 100m above ground level. There is an even higher viewing area open in good weather. There are great views of the city which is a 25 minute walk. For tower aficionados this is a low tower and doesn't revolve or anything but they do have abseiling in summer. It does also have a visible wobble in bad weather. For me it's a great place to relax for an afternoon in the restaurant taking in the view. Although I would have to say the restaurant service is not the best. There are also some hotel rooms available apparently.
Jonathan Gorst — Google review
Went up the mast to enjoy the view with my family. A big success to take the elevator to the top and see everything.
Definitely worth the trip so it can only be recommended!
Jakob Henriksen — Google review
Excellent view around beautiful Rotterdam recommended for anyone visiting the city. Buy tickets in advance to scan and head straight in and up the elevator for wonderful panoramic views of Rotterdam.
We bought the Euroscoop ticket for a few extra Euros which was an interesting seated elevator ride all the way up to the top. It doesn't add a significant extra view depending on where you're seated but still worthwhile.
There's also a nice little cafe at the bottom for a coffee at the end of the ride.
Jack — Google review
Great view and very easy to get on top. Unfortunately the upper part of the tower is under renovation so we weren't able to get the full experience.
Nevertheless you have a wonderful view, as well as a restaurant, giftshop, little bar etc...
Elio Davoli — Google review
If you want to show the city and its history to a friend or to anyone, then this place is the best place to visit; you can show them all parts of the city of Rotterdam and they can understand how the city is divided naturally by the water 💦💦
They can take good memorial photos and videos with amazing backgrounds and views.
But,there are few things to consider when you are coming to visit the Euromast, check the weather, because if it's raining or too much wind, you won't enjoy it,and sometimes they will not allow you to go to the top if it's bad weather. Also, if you are visiting between October and April, it might be a little cold, so bring a jacket with you
Enjoy!!
Saif Ahmed — Google review
We bought the eruoscoop (you get to go all the way to the top in a glass elevator) it was really nice, we could also stop at the halfway point to look and take pictures before going all the way up. The line to go on the lift went fairly fast and when we left through the gift shop I accidentally left my wallet but once I realized and came back for it, it had already been put away in lost and found! :) very nice staff

Something you just have to do when in Rotterdam! Use the app that you can download to learn how it all happened. Take the lift all the way to the top of the spire. It costs extra but it's a good ride you will see 360 covered, no wind swept hair!! Over Rotterdam at 185 metres high, the glass floor can be controlled to keep it white... So you DO not see underneath you. It's all very entertaining and interesting on a good day!!

It have a good view to the city. It’s cheaper if you buy the tickets online. I went to the top of the tower. The elevator(?) to the very top part has floor that turn transparent after you reach the top, there was also a button to turn it back to opaque if you want. That’s so cool!
S C — Google review
I bought ticket at the site and paid 26 euros (till the top 360 view point), (online this is just 19 euros). But I was not informed that the platform has not been rotating for a week, Ideally this should have been informed before purchase of the ticket instead of being told when already inside. It was no fun to see it without rotation, while bumping into people to get the 360 degree view. Or the ticket price should have been discounted.

What goes up must come down. Best view over Rotterdam. And a exciting place for a breakfast. The restaurant is pretty nice and food is ok. Combined with the view a perfect breakfast experience. Before you leave make sure you take the elevator to the top. Avoid rainy days. It’s really worth to enjoy the view on a sunny day.

Great experience within the Euroscoop tower. It gives a seamless 360° rotational view of Rotterdam with a glass floor. The tickets are affordable. It's a must do when you visit Rotterdam.
However, the restaurant is a bit pricey but worth it.

There were only a few people with us when we went on a weeknight, granted, it was unusually cold. The location is a little out of the way from other tourist attractions, but not too far where it’s not walkable. Be sure to check the weather as the views are actually pretty good on a clear night. It was really windy so we had to take shelter a couple of times to warm up.

Amazing views from the top level of the Tower. Though it's good to check weather beforehand, so you don't suffer from extreme wind or rain there. This way you can spend more time there, chill and enjoy the views
Located in the heart of Rotterdam, the Maritime Museum features a wide array of maritime artifacts from across history. Kids will love exploring the interactive exhibits, while adults can learn about maritime history from relics dating back to the sixteenth century.
Really have a good time here. The drug tour is very interesting to adult, the art collection from classical to modern worth a visit, it really can tell the history. The offshore tour is a family must go, can learn a lot from it. Large space for kids and if you go outside the building, there are also lots of boat you can aboard . The famous is Hudson, it’s my first time to hear about it’s story.
?? — Google review
I'm pretty confused and not sure how to rank it. This place isn't bad – it’s just not good enough to be priced at almost EUR 20 per ticket. I’m reviewing it from a foreigner, a non-speaking Dutch tourist perspective. The offshore interactive exhibition set the bar high; the safety briefing in the first room and the overall experience and getting to the rig platform were excellent. Then, the interactive games were engaging and interesting – but some were out of service, some were not working correctly, and all were in Dutch! So we couldn’t understand a word. Leaving the platform through 3000 m depth was also super, with all these details giving you a wow effect, like a crab in the toolbox or the welding scene. Unfortunately, the rest of the exhibition was rather mediocre (between mediocre and poor). The outside part is rather dull and publicly accessed. The lighthouse is really disappointing – well, see the video – it’s like entering a barrel with a projector, as there’s nothing else inside, and you can’t even get upstairs. The staff was helpful and friendly; the place was neat and clean, and the souvenirs were reasonably priced. But it’s not enough for a museum to get a 5-star review.

Great museum with interesting exhibition from old times to nowadays. There are a lot of interesting interactions like helping to land a helicopter to an oil platform.
Also, there is a quite big library dedicated to maritime topic.
There were no line, and museum wasn’t crowded

This was one of the first museums I visited in Rotterdam. I also got my Museum pass here too, nice employees who helped me with everything. Overall a nice museum, you start with an oil rig simulation and then just get to see history of the boats in the Netherlands as well as the history of the ports here. Pretty near stuff but this museum was not my cup of tea, nice to see though especially using the museum pass on it.

I've never experienced things just like this!! Fascinated by the wonderful histories and scale model ships they exhibit. We also enjoyed the activities of the off-shores experience. I just couldn't stop wowing. On the highest deck, children got the chance to play around, trying out to put on and off container toys (experiencing Rotterdam back then). Outside the indoor museum, we were awed by the actual ships and stuff that have been retired from operation. We can hop on and off the ships in the harbor and observe the interior decoration. Free for museum card holders. So worth every penny.

It was one of the best museums I've ever visited throughout the world. My photos do not do this place justice. So much of visiting Europe deals with the fabulous architecture and eateries. There are so many museums, including many children's museums. Not just a few, but many. This museum keeps the children entertained, motivated, and constantly learning. It is an educational fun place. My granddaughter walked with me sightseeing so many places and was running out of energy. I saved this for last. When she went inside, there were so many stimulating things to see and touch that she regained so much energy. she was so happy there was a place specifically for her. Excellent museum.

One of the most interesting museums I have visited so far, the museum explains some historical information about Rotterdam as well. lots of art and interesting structures are built inside, it would take around 2-3 hours to fully experience the museum, I think. We've got museum cards here where you can visit museums for a year long without another ticket, it pays off after a few museum trips so if you're a museum freak like me, I suggest you try it, a lot more economic in the long term ✔️♥️

We visited this museum as part of or one day visit to Rotterdam and it was worth it.
The museum describes the history of Rotterdam, from the middle ages to modern time. There is also a separate building called the port pavilion which describes the modern port.
There is also outside exhibits showing cranes and old boats.
Plan a good 2h to see everything.

I agree with several other previous comments here about the fact that the museum is interesting mainly thanks to the Off-Shore Experience.
I enjoyed the Off-Shore Experience so much, I had never seen anything like it in any other Maritime museum before, and spent a lot of time in that part.
The experience is also pretty fun for kids because there are interactive activities. I learned so much about the oil rigs and took pleasure in watching the staff testimonies.
However, apart from this the other exhibits are not as interesting (and not suitable for kids at all), so basically you’re paying for the Off-Shore Experience only.
If you’re coming with kids, there’s a section on the 1rst level where the kids can play ( a maritime-themed indoor playground). I thought it was a nice idea for families.
All the ships displayed outside the museum along the canal can be accessed for free anytime, even if they are part of the Maritime Museum.

It is a nice museum that keeps all the commercial history of this country. The exhibition halls are spacious and have access to tours with wheelchairs and children. I like that it also has an area where children can interact and better understand the activities that take place in the port and can assume a role.

We found this hotel to be clean, comfortable, friendly, and a great value. Twin beds were comfortable. Shower was great. We were able to store our luggage in a locked room for later pickup after we checked out.
Location near train station, restaurants, and other attractions is very convenient. Breakfast is a little light on protein, but otherwise good quality.

Top notch service. The heaters were fantastic, I’d just come from a Hampton by Hilton in Amsterdam and the rooms were freezing. Thankfully the temperature control was marvellous.
Nice view of Rotterdam city from window.
As I frequently travel more and more, the smaller things like storage; where to pop your suitcase becomes increasingly important. The window sills hold your luggage and goods whilst the table can be left free for your laptop / other belongings.
I really appreciated that at this hotel as you can see from the pictures. And because I went when it was very cold the window sills acted as a fridge for the milk I’d purchased! And it worked well.
Breakfast: served at a very tight and congested area, not the best selection. However the yoghurt was surprisingly good.
Some beans would go a long way.
Recommendation to the hotel: give some slippers will ya!

Honestly, this hotel has the features to give it a really high rating. Great location, good rooms (maybe a tad small) but I booked a quite basic one. The staff is well prepared and helpfull. I arrived at a busy time so I did wait around 6 or 7 minutes, but that's very expectable around 18:00 in a hotel. Parking was good too.
The breakfast was a bit different, I had to pick a time slot but my preferred one was not available. They gave me a bag that I could fill at the breakfast buffet. I got what I wanted for breakfast but a little different. All good

Stayed here for 2 nights. The reception staff and General manager made me feel welcomed. After coming off a flight from the US at 9am they allowed me early-check in (subject to availability of course).
The Location is great, only about 2-3 blocks from Central Station and an easy walk. You're right outside a tram station as well, to get around Rotterdam. I would just walk to most of the places nearby as nothing I really wanted to see was more than a 15 minute walk.
Room was simple but well appointed. It did not have a mini-fridge or iron. Usually these Express hotels are for business travelers who might need to iron a shirt. The Air condition worked well although you could open the window if needed.
Breakfast had plenty of seating. The spread was simple and standard for a continental breakfast in Europe. It had sliced deli meats, 2 cheeses, croissants and toast, a couple of cereals, and warm hard boiled eggs. I really wish they had a better hot section instead of warmed eggs I'm happy. There was only 1 coffee machine and the line would get long at times.
Overall I would recommend staying here because of the location and really great value. It has public transportation nearby, and all the staff I interacted with were really amazing. They had staff speaking Dutch, English, French, and Spanish, and probably more. They had a private room to store luggage in case you wanted to explore the city before or after check-in.

I was staying ,Holiday Inn Express Rotterdam - Central Station, for 3 months for job Purpose , My room number was 442
I had the worst experience ever in my entire life , No safety no security No respect for guest items
1, someone stole my laptop all IDS from breakfast Table even managements from hotel don't care about the incident even don't sorry or looked the CCTV footage because maybe Hotel staff related this, also they knew me cause i am staying long time
2.Reception service was very rude and unprofessional specially the supervisor and team leader, every time i went and get a stupid lame excuse i don't know come tomorrow or call managements
3.managements service is very bad ,My rooms landline was not working from beginning i made 4 times complain and report to manager also but no one even came to checked
4.Housekeeping service also was bad every time they clean the room but cleaning lady used to lefts some dirty rags ,bins in the rooms and have to call them again to remove
5. There was no safety and no security so how peoples from outside came and took your staff and no one know who came who lefts
All together i had no choice to change Hotel because my company had contact with Holiday INN that's why i was not able to changes
Please be careful everyone before book this hotel for safety and security its 0000 Hostel is more secure than this Hotel
Managements and Netherlands Authority should get rid of that's kind stupid service

One of the most limited low cost hotels I have stayed in the last years. The positive aspects are the size of the room and bathroom (comparing to other facilities of the hotel), and some of the staff that try their best (not all, some were very unfriendly).
The breakfast is extremely limited in terms of items and their quality (even the peanut butter of very low quality), no cheese spread, gluten-free just a simple granola, etc.
The room is very empty, no minibar. The hotel has nothing besides rooms, and a very squished reception with some food/drinks to pick and pay next to it and the breakfast place. In the same trip we have stayed some days at the Marriott, just 2-3 blocks from the Hollyday Inn, and price not too higher, but the Marriott was so much better.
At the end of my staying, and additional surprise was that they announced that they needed to charge me an extra because the fully prepaid reservation did not cover their full prince (I had neve seen that before).
If you arrive before 3pm, expect long waiting time to start checking in just after 3pm.
Thus, I recommend to look for other hotels in Rotterdam.

Very nice and quiet hotel, perfectly located not only in walking distance from Rotterdam Central Station, but in walking distance from city center avenues, restaurants and attractions. Tram stations right in front of the hotel. Staff is super friendly and helpful, breakfast is basic but on point.

I went to this hotel for the second time, and again everything was very nice. Last time was in lockdown time a year ago, the room was not cleaned then you had to order what you wanted for breakfast the day before. Now the breakfast buffet was open again, and there were not really and regulations anymore luckily. The room was clean and spacious.

Rooms are comfortable, but I had my room but dirty - shower supposed to be cleaner, air vent in bathroom had a an inch of mold inside, I did not have any shower gel and shampoo in room. Curtains - some spots, smell - like room was not ventilated for few days already. Service and location - very good. Breakfast- poor. No hot meat.

Location excellent, but no irons in the rooms! Street noise and neighbours sounds were disturbing a bit too. And there were only 4 hangers tied to the pole!! I was on the business trip and couldn't either iron my clothes in my room or hang them all nicely. Breakfast was ok and staff was nice!

A good and nice hotel in the middle of the city. Nice, clean and quiet rooms. Friendly staff. Shops are on walking distance. Only no parking place for Tourist bus, but within 15 minutes walking distance there are 3 places. Ten minutes further, 17 more places.

After 9 nights for sure I will not visit this hotel again. In my humble opinion this is a not a 4 star hotel.
1. Stains on all walls and mattress
2. Dirty chair
3. Very (!) limited breakfast
4. Very small rooms with nothing else except a basic TV and hairdryer
Good part:
Friendly staff
Good location

Cleanliness in general very good, unfortunately, as you can see in the photo, there were blood stains on the
Bed. I obviously put them open, because it may be that they have been overlooked. But the good cleaning staff simply covered it again and ignored it.
Really recommended for a short stay of 1-3 days, everything about it is a disaster. Breakfast, the same every day, air conditioning (as the windows cannot be opened) does not run very well and cools or heats the room very little. The view is also not exactly the best but the location is very good Central, all in all bearable but about the cleanliness, toilet brushes on the toilets or let alone a cupboard in the room would be really desirable

Very convenient location from Rotterdam central station..Good comfortable rooms with continental breakfast..Pricing on a higher side. No complimentary water bottles provided.. extension of stay possible but might be expensive than initial booking..Always check online and also with reception and then make payment based on which ever is cheaper

First time here. Lovely personnel. Breakfast bar could do with a more efficient layout. Plates are at the back, past the bar. Tea bags etc are past the water dispenser. Otherwise, it's all good

Bad
1. Very limited breakfast options and found hair in the breakfast more than once.
2. Room was not cleaned by housekeeping on one of the days
3. Lacks necessary things in the room like a toilet brush.
4. Stains on walls and curtains..
5.bedding was too small for bed and when making requests to get proper bedding the request was just ignored.
Good
1. Friendly staff
2. Close to public transport
3.ability to leave bags before and after check-in

We stayed in this hotel for 1 night. The best thing about it is the location. It is close to almost everything in Rotterdam. However, the rooms are really outdated. The carpet is not clean. There are a lot of things that need to be improved. There isn't much choice in breakfast.
I recommend the hotel if you are staying for 1 night.
2 stars for location and staff.

Using the parking lot is uncomfortable. Whenever I enter the parking lot, the car number is not automatically recognized, or there is no way to tag the hotel key. Also, there are 4 lifts, but 2 of them don't go to the ground floor that is linked to the parking lot. Probably I don't know how to use the services better.

Rooms were quiet, and mattress and shower were serviceable. But there were some issues. The phone was nothing most than a prop or paperweight. I wasn't connected to any system. 0 dial tone. The temperature was fixed and wouldn't go below 19c. I requested an iron (s8nce there were not any in the rooms?) And I got a toy. No steam, it wouldn't heat high enough to function. Breakfast was disappointing, especially since some other locals hotels have a beautiful typical Dutch spread. Housekeeping was a riddle... didn't take out trash. Generally speaking the service was good, but it did seem that some of tue folks would benefit from some training.

Location, location, location. Great rooms for the price you are paying. Front desk staff is very helpful with any questions. Would definitely recommend this.

We had no housekeeping come into our room across a 3 night stay despite speaking to reception about it. We had to ask for towels, toilet paper and tea/coffee.
We saw housekeeping on our floor but for some reason kept skipping our room. We tried leaving the sign requesting house keeping on the door and we tried not putting it on the door - it made no difference.
Eventually our bin was overflowing with rubbish and there were wet towels everywhere where they'd not been collected.
The location is good and breakfast is OK but limited choice.

The location is very central to all activities; central station, shops, and restaurants. The room is always kept clean, the breakfast is delicious, and the staffs are very helpful. Highly recommended.

I have read abt not so good review and I had to write this to give my experience. I would say my experience was great overall.
Room is good size, I have got the room facing city, mid floor. Though it’s within walking distance from Rotterdam central station, I find that it’s still quiet. Location is great!
Breakfast was with acceptable selection.
One appreciation note - I arrived ahead of checkin time and hotel/staff is nice enough to offer stroopwafel with coffee (perhaps due to IHG membership). Upon completion of the local Netherlands taste, the room was ready for checkin. Staffs were attentive and warm.
One thing to note - hotel room is not equipped with USB port for charging. Guest would need to bring your own power plug.
Overall my experience was great.

I wouldn’t know what the hotel is like because I’m still stuck far after check in waiting to get my room. But I know enough about my experience to know the hotel is not being run in a smooth manner.
The Feyenoord Stadium is a famed football stadium in Rotterdam, Netherlands. It is the home of Feyenoord FC, and has a capacity of 51,000 spectators. The stadium has also been used for rock concerts, and is known for its spirited fans and energetic atmosphere.
A spirited bunch with great atmosphere. It is a fun experience, even for the non-footballer.

Very well organised stadium with a lot to offer. It was my first experience watching football match on such big stadium and I was a bit afraid of the crowd and the queues for the entrance. The organisation was very good and people could easily enter and exist their sectors.
Do wear earplugs if your ears are on the sensitive side as it might get loud! :)

Visited in our recent cruise to Rotterdam. Popped into the club shop to get myself a magnet as a souvenir, assistant's spoke good English which is always good, came away with a third kit Jersey for 70% off, absolute bargain! Shop looked nice as did the outside of the arena.

Great stadium with a great atmosphere. Unique in its kind. Don't know any other stadium that dances like this one when a goal is scored and you are at the top tier of the stadium. It is quite old which you can clearly see once you get in so it either needs a bit of refurbishment or build a completely new stadium and try to built the current atmosphere into the new one which is pretty difficult. Also something needs to be done about the infrastructure in the area of the stadium. This is really rubbish. Also security during cup finals is non existent. Therefore only 4 stars.

Had my first international football match experience: the UEFA Nations League final. Although would have loved Netherlands to go to the final, Croatia Vs Spain was a final to witness. The vibe inside and outside the stadium was extraordinary and I'll cherish this memory forever. Also, side quests of clicking a pic with Ronald de Boer and the Nations League trophy (or that's what they told us atleast) ticked off the bucket list! ❤️
The stadium suited the occasion well and the organisation, security and staff were all nice. Great experience for me

Great stadium! I got there 1.5 hours before kickoff. Getting in and then to my seat was very fast. Staff were friendly and atmosphere was good. But already before the game, there were so many empty plastic cups. I'd suggest introducing reusable ones for a 1€ or so

Feyenoord Stadium, also known as De Kuip, is a temple of football in Rotterdam. The atmosphere here is electric, and the passion of the fans is infectious. Whether it's a thrilling match or a stadium tour, you'll experience the rich history of Feyenoord and their legendary victories. The iconic architecture and sea of red and white scarves create an unforgettable setting for football lovers. A must-visit for anyone who wants to immerse themselves in Dutch football culture. ⚽🏟️🔴⚪

The heart and soul of Rotterdam, this team means so much to this city and it's been amazing to see the effect live in the games at De Kuip. Not giong to lie the seats are extremely close together, built in the 1950's they really tried to pack everyone in. You can feel the age of the stadium but to be honest, this is much nicer than some of the older football stadiums in Europe. The energy here is amazing. I also just saw one of the Nations League games here as well, the fans brought the energy. Food and beer and decently priced, there could be more toilets/urinals but they do their best to put a lot of the portable ones. Great stadium for how old it is.

The stadium is decent, medium sized.
Food and drink options were just enough and had good value for money.
Stadium is easily reachable by public transport. Stadium is equipped with most of the amenities.
I got seats in z3, which was behind the visiting teams bench, so I was able to see the players much upfront.
I would have gone for an average rating for the stadium, had I not had a great night with the Croatian fans. The Croats brought the whole stadium to life with constant drums and cheers. It turned out to be the best football match I saw live!

Absolutely wonderful. Just to see this iconic venue would be enough but we got so much more. Stadium tours can be long, anodyne reminders you're not actually at a game. Not this one. As the only non-Dutch in the party, the guide quickly established we were Scottish, not English then Rangers, not Celtic and aside from their usual tour duties both he and the museum curator kindly offered me some chat about new Rangers signing and Feyenoord old boy, Cyriel Dessers and, of course, provided English translations of everything. At the end, we were told to wait behind while a map of Rotterdam was fetched & gifted to help the rest of our holiday as well as a discount voucher for a nearby eatery. Pubs were recommended. One of the loveliest days ever. The friendliness and warmth echoed exactly what I got a few days earlier when I asked in the Sportsforum shop about getting into the ground - in English, remember! - and was directed very pleasantly by the young man behind the counter to the website address for booking stadium tours.

Massive stadium for the fan crowd. I went for psv vs Feyenoord finals and amazed with the support from home team. Neat and clean you have stall facilities for snacks and drinks. Amazing view for the match. Enjoyed the experience through the match. Good parking facilities and Train station nearby which connects to all stations.
The Rotterdam Zoo is a zoological institution located in the city of Rotterdam, Netherlands. It is one of the oldest zoos in Europe and has a wide variety of animals including pandas, lions, and elephants. The zoo also features a Botanical garden and an Oceanarium for children.
Worth every euro!
Animals look healthy and happy. The whole place is so well manicured that you forget you are in the middle of the city and just enjoy every corner. It is very easily accessible by bus.
Loads of places to eat, huge parking, strollers for children.
Don't forget free map at the entrance! The place is huge.

What a gem of a place! I absolutely loved how well the place was organized and maintained. I didn’t have any expectations when I booked the experience, but I enjoyed it so much that I left thinking I need to come back and spend a whole day there. They have many interactive points for education, where storytelling starts based on sensors and gives an overview of the animals in that specific area. The only downside is that those are mainly in Dutch. Food courts are convenient to reach in nicely planned areas so you have to option to relax if you feel like you need it, without interfering too much in the areas specially designed for showing a particular region and the animals. The food is also diverse, from different cuisines, which was surprisingly pleasant. They really designed a journey to discover the world/ nature and try to recreate a proper experience. Definitely recommending! I went on a public holiday so quite a lot of kids running everywhere, but I still had a blast :)

This app is amazing. I used to think the San Diego Zoo was great. No longer. The animals here clearly have great care. They are organized by continent and are easy to find. There are many planned spaces to help children exhaust their play needs. The food we had was also reasonably priced and yummy. This place is not only designed to exhibit the animals well and teach environmental and world care but with human comfort as well.

Very big place. Not only good as zoo but as a park. Aquarium is a big one too with a good variety. Noticeable how many animals were born in this zoo, meaning that animals are getting really good care

It's a wonderful place to spend your whole day. The best part of the zoo is the oceanium. Although it gets a little confusing at times to navigate through the place when you miss something and you wanna go back but after a while you get the hang of it. Definitely keep 5-6 hours of you wanna enjoy the place at a relaxed pace.

Really enjoyed our day at the zoo. We went with our 2 year old son. It was all well taken care of for a family visit. Clear paths, plenty of small food shops. Unfortunately no halal options, but then again, there was enough vegetarian options. Will most likely visit again.

It was very nice trip. The zoo has lots of nice animals with multiple view angles indoor and outdoor, so you should be able to see the animals in different seasons. The aquarium section was also nice. There are many rest stations with different food options across the zoo. It is easy to spend 7 hours there without feeling bored or disappointed.

We had a lot of fun visiting this zoo. The animals are varied and beautiful. The cages are a bit small. Wildlands zoo is a bit better in that regard. The food is ok. Very expensive, but that is to be expected. Poffertjes were nice and fresh. The highlight were the big cats. The lions were just devouring a horse which was pretty cool and the other cats were very beautiful

A beautiful Zoo in the city of Rotterdam. Easy to travel to by public transport. One of the largest Zoos in the Netherlands. Different areas with species like the Oceanic world where you walk through the Ocean beneath the sharks and rays. A lot to see and explore! A long day out if you'll bring the kids, locations to play are all around the park. This month you also can see the babyboom of the animal kingdom. Before visiting be sure you'll get your tickets online, it's mostly cheaper and you've got the tickets digitally with you...

Very nice zoo located within 15 min walk from Rotterdam central Station. Very good use of the available space, multiple spots to view the enclosures from and open enclosures (almost no bars and a lot of glass and plastic). For some of the animals that means a very close viewing experience. The app from the zoo shows a daily schedule for feedings of some of the animals, also webcams available for some of the enclosures.

Even though it was a day in October many of the animals were out and about, do I think we got a bit lucky honestly! This is a pretty great zoo I think.
From what I could understand if the displays there was quite a bit slant to teaching admit conservation. Which is great! But for the non-native be warned that the majority of displays do NOT have any sort of translation.
Also be warned it's quite a large site, even walking at quite a brisk pace you're likely to need a good chunk of a day to make it around. I was actually with my wife and her rather slow father... And there was legitimate fears we might not get out before they closed (spoiler: we did).

Very nice urban zoo, with a good variety of animals. The Rotterdam Zoo is easily reachable by bus from the train station and the city center.
Visited on a Monday morning, there were more visitors and kids than I would have expected so be prepared to the fact you won’t be alone even on a weekday morning.
Total visit lasts approx. 4 hours (but haven’t read any explanations), there is a lot to see even if the zoo doesn’t seem big. You could easily spend 5 hours there if you are not in a hurry.
For non-dutch speakers : there are no English signs nor explanations, even the zoo map given at the entrance is not translated. Such a shame they haven’t thought about any foreign visitors…
Cloakroom : there are available lockers for 2€ each, but the info displayed on their official website hasn’t been updated (it was said 0.95€/day).
If you’re coming with kids there is a huge outdoor playground space inside the zoo which is nice for kids to have fun.

Absolutely amazing place. The ticket price is 25€ and it is totally worth it. You need at least 5 hrs to explore the whole place. The timings are 9 to 5 so advise you to reach well on time. You will see so many kinds of animals and water species. The Gorillas part was the most interesting one. I nearly spent 1 hour just looking at them and it was so funny watching them play. I could spend the whole day looking at them and not getting bored. Polar bears were also interesting to watch.

We really liked it. The territory is huge, there are many species presented. Also, there are many interactive stuff for kids
Plaswijckpark is a large, quirky play park with an adventure playground, boat and train trips, and a zoo with monkeys and wallabies. There is something for everyone to enjoy at Plaswijckpark, from zip wires and car tracks to a fun ball park. The playground also has an adventure area for kids to explore.
We enjoyed plaswijk so much! This park has so many things and everything is done really well. We loved the animals and how close you can get to them. The otters and the goats were really lively and fun.
The play grounds and traffic yard are just so interactive! The barn with slide was a huge hit.
What makes this park great is that all the extra add ons like the flying zip line, train and boat tour etc are all free and you can do them as many times as you like.
Also highly recommend the indoor playground.

Wifi doesn't work smoothly. I deducted one star for that. The number of passengers on board is insufficient for the number of children accommodated. Went there during the Easter weekend. Lots for kids to do including the Easter hunt, face paint , Easter characters hugging children made it memorable for them. This is one go -to park for me. It has everything , a mini petting zoo, water slides for summer, fiets for big and small kids and many areas to play outdoors and indoors. All seasons are perfect to visit here. A carousel, mini train ride, boat ride , water rides make it for a fairytale like feeling. My toddlers love going there so often so have bought an abonnement for the park otherwise the tickets can be quite expensive.

When it's warm, you also have a waterplace for the kids, small zoo, and big traffic parc where the kids can go around with pedal cars. Indoor playgrounds, outdoor playgrounds, and waterpedal swans on a small lake. The parc is very safe. Definitely recommend this parc and will come back with swimming clothing 👌

So many things to do for kids, indoor and outdoor, til they're about 12yrs old. It's really a fun day out with family and friends! And you can also celebrate birthdays there, I did that for my daughter. They have activities during certain holidays like easter, summer holiday, halloween, christmas.

This place is magical! It's the single most incredible place I've ever seen! It's perfect and amazing! This is the best example why Dutch kids are the happiest kids in the world! I was angry to discover my own childhood was horrible compared to kids who can come here! And we didn't even get to see it all! You're a bad parent if you don't take your kids here. And the price is nothing compared to the happiness you can offer your kids! I now need therapy to overcome my own childhood knowing that this amazing place exists! 😂

Five starts are not enough. This part is very safe, very interesting, very educative, and comprehensive in many many ways.
I would recommend this park for any family with children between the age of 1 to 14 years. I believe they can do a lot here and they can develop their children from many aspects in this park.
I wish this park all the best, and I have it always keep it as good organized as we have always seen it before.

This park is a must if you live or visit Rotterdam with young children. An ideal day out with the little ones with all kinds of activities suitable for their age group. The entrance might seem a bit steep but with so much on offer you can easily spend quality time with them for the entire day. Packed lunch and drinks are essential to complete a picnic with a fun day out.

Great Park for the kids... There is a lot to do for the kids. You can easily spend a whole day here. Playing, watching animals and lot more. The park is well maintained, the food is okay but the toilets are a bit filthy.

The botanical garden Arboretum trompenburg is located 10 minutes from campus and has a modest size but many different kinds of trees and plants. It is a great place to go for a walk with friends, relax or simply enjoy the beautiful sights.
Take an afternoon to take in a brilliant slice of nature in the city. Enjoyed a walk through the beautifully landscaped garden followed by some refreshments in the tea room. The arboretum is filled with the sounds of birds and all the trees and plants are labelled should you be interested in learning more about them. Would recommend to anyone for sure.

I had a nice Sunday afternoon here thanks to the sunny weather. This place is a lot bigger than I expected and it took me some time to find the greenhouses I was looking for. The atmosphere is lovely. Keep in mind nice weather means lots of people so perhaps going earlier in the day might be a good idea.

Highly recommended for nature and botanical garden lovers. Many paths to explore and just get lost in the serene beauty of nature both curated and wild. As it was a hot day when we visited we highly recommend grabbing a cool drink and ice lolly from the cafe by the entrance. Also don’t forget to exit the park towards the rear gate and cross the street to go to another section of Trompenburg as it may not be evident! If you’re a museumkaart holder you’re also in luck as it is accepted here!

An oasis of tranquility in the city. This botanical garden may seem small but it is beautifully landscaped and plants labelled for educational purposes. One may want to spend half a day and to have refreshments in between exploring the different sections. It's open year round but I believe it's prettiest from spring to early autumn. Highly recommended

Was here on a party with my family. It was in a big glass tent. This was a bit unfortunate with the heat. Outside it was only 15 degrees but inside it felt like 35. When it comes to the botanical garden itself, I would say it's nice for a bit of a stroll, but not really so many interesting and amazing plants and or flowers.

Nice place for a closing weekend activity.
(Also a good hidden place away from the city life)
Most of the flowers have bloomed.
Well maintenance!

Beautiful in all seasons! Great place for about two hours, including a nice cup of tea. Entry fee of 10 euro is fairly pricey for the garden, worth it in spring and summer. Free entry with the Rotterdampas and Museumkaart make it worth it once every season

A fascinating, quaint treasure of Rotterdam.
Many walkways and small bridges to cross over luscious, but well-manicured landscaping. Frequent bird chirps drown out any noise of people talking, which was rare. On a sunny day, the arboretum provides an explorative haven for plant lovers, tree huggers, botanists, bird watchers, and landscaping enthusiasts alike. A real hidden gem is the cafe, which has lekker snacks at affordable prices that are coupled with magnificent views. With no bikes or animals, the area is quite tranquil, forcing your mind to appreciate and explore the best that an arboretum could offer.

I attended the Christmas Market over a weekend in December 2023. The market was a good blend of foods, christmassy products and botanicals and was well organised. The park itself is beautiful. I'd love to go again during spring or the summers. Also with the museumkaart the entrance is gratis!

€5,75 young adult discount. As I arrived in late afternoon, it was a quick visit 1:40h.
As it was the 1st of May, the majority of the flowers were in bloom, so it was a pretty walk around the park.
My only suggestion would be to add more details about the kind of terranium / plants they are, where they originate from, what their growth looks like, their reproduction...
The small botanic garden in Naples is one of my favourites because of all the hand written details and images (in Italian, but Google translate lens works) they provide on some beautiful ceramic tiles.

We had trouble with the parking payment machine, so the lady at the front desk helped us above and beyond with a few possible solutions. A sudden rain surprised us, so she found us umbrellas without our asking. Even gave something to our toddler, just to make her happy.

This beautiful English-style park located at the foot of Euromast in Rotterdam is a great place to relax and escape the city bustle. It features a mini golf course, benches, and a BBQ area. Although it can get quite quiet here, it's always worth checking out Het Park!

Het Park is an amazing place for a walk or picnic, or just to sit and read a book, or write, or explore the nature and your own thoughts.
I was lucky to visit it last spring, when everything was bright green, lots of blooming flowers, all the plants fresh and juicy after the winter, also the weather was just amazing - a sunny day, light clouds in the sky. I watched the duck with ducklings, slowly walked around paying attention to the colors and shapes of flowers and the sounds of nature. The tranquillity makes this place almost magic.

Enjoyed several leisurely strolls through Het Park during a visit to Rotterdam in late April 2023. Large beautiful urban park with a nice balance of green space and wooded areas. It has a well maintained hike and bike trail and is within walking distance to Euromast and the waterfront.
This tourist attraction showcases the miniature version of Rotterdam with both day and night simulations. The restaurant onsite is a great place to explore Dutch culture up close.
This tourist (domestic and foreign) attraction is really incredible! Rotterdam in miniature. The attention to detail is incredible. Yes it's small and you would probably spend less than an hour but it's really worth the admission price. This miniworld is to be enjoyed by kids and adults alike.

It's a very big build, and they are currently building an additional Exposition (of great Britain). It was very fun to explore the places we had seen in real life as miniature! There are many details to discover and the "night time" is very beautiful and fun! I recommend really getting as close as possible to see everything.
Some parts do get dusty and it gives off an old and used feeling but it is still a fun activity.
Christine Pirling — Google review
It was nice, the scale models and scenery are amazingly done! The day and night are also very good represented and the tiny lights everywhere looked like a fairy tale. The Great Britain exhibition was amazingly promising. However it was SO crowded with people that it was just overwhelming, we couldn't enjoy it fully with 3 persons with autism/adhd. The sounds, smells and crowd was just too much.
Also the employees were real "rotterdammers" what not always goes well with other types of people. You should really keep this in mind, they are not unfriendly, just very direct.

This is a real gem for children and model enthusiasts. It is really inspiring in showing children how the city works and in showing the scale of its infrastructure and transport systems. My two children 8 and 11 enjoyed the different themes and the English language displays really helped. The moving objects were particularly popular with children. The UK themes downstairs were really good and done to an impressive level of detail. Highly recommended.

Very interesting lilliputian work! I was a little bored with Rotterdam till I found Mini World, it's fascinating how much precision and patience were put together to produce such impressive work! It's a great way to visit the entire Rotterdam in the day... and night! Great Britain miniature is at the basement, under construction. I caught a glimpse of the unfinished work, I am sure it will be another master piece!

What a delightfully pleasing place. There are miniatures of many of the cities and towns in the Netherlands as well as wonderfully explicit historical explanations of various events that created the country. There are staff members monitoring the operation of the various trains, trucks, and other motorized items. Most of the descriptions are on Dutch and English. There are a lot more Dutch explanations of the efforts taken to build and maintain the place.
Mike Leibowitz — Google review
Great little model layout. The main floor is based on the Netherlands and downstairs Great Britain is under construction.
Kept us entertained for a couple of hours in central Rotterdam. Reasonable value and great detailed modelling.
One minute of real time represents one hour model time, so it goes dark every so often and the lights make the models come alive in a different way.
There are lots of model trains with the odd moving vehicle. Only thing not very realistic is there aren’t many bicycle models, unlike real Netherlands!

This is incredible, we came to visit Amsterdam and we went down to Rotterdam , we checked our tickets for Miniworld and we didn't have idea what it is ! When we arrived first we went downstairs to use bathroom and we saw miniworld only from Great Britain and we thought that's it ? But once when we approach the Miniworld room , we lost ourself in time 😁 we had great time , i recommend this place , is worth to see

I spent 2.5 hours with my family - adults and kids -in the room with miniatures of Rotterdam's unique landmarks and typical surrounding 'polder' landscapes, which is probably around 500m2 in total. There are so many tiny details at street level to observe, and the miniatures are placed a little under eye's height. Kids can stand on a ledge, placed under the guard rail, that gives them a very good opportunity to see everything with their own eyes. Of course, touching of the miniatures is not allowed. To make it even more realistic, the lights switch from day to night mode. The night is proportionally shorter because you can see less detail, though it shows all the lights on buildings and vehicles, a spledid sight!
There is an open control centre, behind a cord, where you can speak with the operators, sitting behind computer screens. These operators are very friendly and have made a hobby of their work. You see them running from time to time, climbing on the boards and pushing halted trains back into motion. You will have a great time, guaranteed!

I liked this so much. However, there is construction outside the building, making it hard to get in and out, no clear sign that they are open. Once I got in you get a map at 50.c and take a self guided tour, I enjoyed when the light go out to give you a full effect of how rotterdam is when the lights are on and off. The noise and trains all look so realistic, they are busy with a new exhibition that I can not wait to visit ! I spent over an hour here! Definitely going again. This place allows Rotterdam PASS.
Restaurant inside as well prices between 10€_20€.
Known for its many restaurants, boutiques and art galleries, the Witte de Withstraat is a vibrant thoroughfare in Rotterdam. Kunsthal Rotterdam is a large art institution located in the city of Rotterdam. It has recently reopened after undergoing a seven-month closure and is primarily focused on temporary exhibitions.
One of my favorite places to visit. I learn something new every time I go. They always display a good mix of interesting modern art and contemporary work.
One piece of advice: even after visiting several times I still get a little bit lost every time, so be prepared to walk around a bit to find all the exhibitions.

Great museum! It's not huge (up 1-1.5 hours I would say) but it can accommodate up to 8 exhibitions. I went today and there were 7 exhibitions on. I guess you should check upfront what exhibitions are on to see if there's something for you. It is always changing. Today all were very different, but all very beautiful, unique, thought provoking or fun! Interesting for children and adults alike and really a cool space. I don't normally like seeing the same-old classical paintings and get bored quickly, but kunsthal has a wide range with a good mix of modern and interactive. Would definitely recommend to others. Note: I went in with my museum card!

I've visited here for Tim Walker: Wonderful Things. It was an enchanting experience.
The building consists of two parts where one part is a cafe with nice meals and the other with exhibitions. The door is from the cafe part, where you take tickets and see summaries of the show, then start the exhibition, when you're done you can buy stuff related to the exhibition if you want to keep some as a memory.
It's also right next to many other splendid museums you should definitely give this place a day and see museums and art galleries as much as you can.

I extended my trip from Amsterdam to Rotterdam to visit Kunsthal Museum especially as Refik Aandol’s solo exhibition is on. The travel was bit indirect as there was no direct train. The exhibition itself was great - Refik’s art is mesmerizing as always, although the exhibition hall was smaller than I anticipated. All in all it’s still a worthwhile visit. It’s also my first time to see the national park series and the wind series.

We can call this a museum of modern art! Exhibitions are not permanent and this is what makes it always exciting to visit the museum regularly if you happen to live in or nearby Rotterdam. Every floor has a 'themed' exhibition that is carefully crafted and executed. Absolutely recommended!

The all star museum every time I go. Curation is always very curious and exciting, can be a bit crowded at times but it does not take away from the experience, the building itself is very peculiar and fun to walk through also. The museum consists of 7 different spaces, which regularly host different artists/ exhibitions. But ofc everyone of these can be visited with the ticket. Museum is well structured! Since the venues of the different spaces change regularly there probably is something for everybody anytime one visits!

The museum is ok, however they should put direction signs. It's difficult to know which way to go since level 1 & 3 are next to each other 6 & 4... on different level, it's a bit messy. The big bouncing stage was soo much fun.

Compared to Voorlinden I was really disappointed with this museum. The exhibitions weren't really well curated, it was a bunch of random artifacts without any obvious connection, there were no descriptions, QR codes or anything that would have explained it, and it was very focused on Dutch history and culture. The highlight with the big playground and balls has a severe shortcoming which is that you're not allowed to take your phone but there's also no secure storage available, it's been really frustrating not being able to go and the museum staff were unwilling to help. We also got lost several times because the exhibition numbers don't correlate with the hall that they are shown in so until you understand that you run in circles. Lots of potential but poor implementation.

I have lived here for almost a year and I biked past this museum quite a few times. Finally I got to go inside and free with my museum card. We reserved two tickets and just had to show the museum card, very quick and painless. This was a nice place, one of my favorite museums in Rotterdam, it was more modern art which was really nice to see and I resonated with the messages. Nice installations and it wasn't too large so we did not feel overwhelmed with the amount of installations.

Every time I’ve been to Kunsthal, I’ve asked myself… HOW is it possible that a building can be built/marked in such a confusing way?
I always get lost and lose track of which one on the 7 halls I’ve seen, and so on. Sometimes, I’ve missed entire exhibitions because of the strange and confusing layout of the museum.
Besides that though, the curators have amazing taste, the space is interesting and beautiful for the most part, and the exhibitions have always been nice and interesting, so I’d definitely recommend going if you’re in the area.

Delfshaven is a Rotterdam borough situated on the right bank of the Nieuwe Maas river, which used to be an independent municipality until 1886. The area got its name from the port of Delft city, around which the town developed. Notably, Delfshaven neighborhood remained intact during the Rotterdam bombing and houses several historical landmarks such as Resistance Museum.
Kop van Zuid, a redeveloped docklands area, boasts cultural institutions such as the Nederlands Fotomuseum and Nieuwe Luxor theater. Its remarkable architecture includes art nouveau Jugendstil buildings, De Rotterdam towers that are interconnected and the KPN Tower designed by Renzo Piano. Visitors can relish waterfront cafes, bistros and Asian eateries with dining being a top priority in this region.
The Wereldmuseum is a museum with an expansive and diverse collection of artefacts from around the world. The primary collection focuses on Asia, but there are often changing exhibitions that explore one continent or theme. I had wanted to visit this museum for quite some time and was a little afraid that an expectation might have built up that the museum might not be able to live up to. But quite the opposite. It was even much better than expected. The children's section alone is fantastic and a spectacle for adults as well. The temporary exhibitions were definitely among the best I have seen in recent years: The ideas and concepts, the choice of objects, the arrangement, the contextualisation.... and yet it was not cerebral, but appealing, low-threshold, sensual. I am really thrilled and deeply impressed.

Lovely building on the river. It's in an amazing area of what I could see. Over the holiday (End of April till Beginning May) there is one floor for kids. Here they can learn about how and why the different races that live here live, also why they had to come over... they do this inform of story telling with animation and music and small buildings, shops where you can interact with the characters by pressing a button. They will start explaining through a mirror with a magic projector that represent their story. Basically learning how The Netherlands got so many different races in the land. Lots of interesting information about the history regarding this.
It's great fun! Also have 2 workshops for both adults and kids. Great day out!!

A pretty good museum overall, on the aspect of exhibition- the permanent one was nice but the contemporary definitely blew it out of the water, it was just phenomenal. As a museum though, it does do an effort to rectify the colonial nature museums have had with artefacts but it still feels like more can be done, but nonetheless at least they are aware and trying to do something, more than other museums.

Spasious 3 floors with a lift and 4th floor for kids (4-8 y.o.) workshops to follow during summer holiday. General exposition will be seen within 1 hour maximum, kids will need adult explanation. Sealing is high and some exponants can't cleary be seeing under the protection glass. Videos with short films will be an addition to the theme. Inside & outside brasserie with self-service, gifts shop pricey but worth to buy some hand made items as a special gift from Rotterdam/Nederland!

This is such a nice building!
It is a nice museum to visit, you will for sure learn more about the history of The Netherlands and Rotterdam.
There are also some cool workshops that you might want to check out in advance.

A wonderful discovery. Beautiful building. Kind and helpful staff. We love their approach to diversity and inclusiveness, and what to do with the thousands objects inherited from colonial age. What remains today is living all together incorporating and transmitting all traditions. Fantastic exhibition of contemporary african photography.

Lovely building with interesting exhibitions. Two tips:
-Would be more inclusive if they provide the text in both Dutch and English.
-Text would be better to read if the lights are positioned differently. Now my shadow was blocking the information.

Wonderful! As we were short on time, and have no children, I should have prepared to skip the first level. However, once we started into the upper levels all was amazing!
It's an immersive cultural experience which has something for everyone. Highly recommended. If you're in the neighborhood, stop on through. Students also receive a discount on admission, so, be sure to carry your school ID.

The Museum Rotterdam '40 -'45 NOW is a small yet impressive museum located under a bridge on the Coolhaven. The museum provides an immersive multimedia experience that recounts the bombing of Rotterdam on May 14, 1940, where 1300 bombs were dropped by 54 German aircraft in just thirteen minutes. The exhibits at the museum focus on various aspects of wartime, with displays showcasing artifacts and stories of both bravery and tragedy.
Amazing museum! It's not huge, but it covers well the history of WWII in Rotterdam. It also contains a fascinating exhibition of items from the war.
The staff is very kind, I had instructions, translated material, and a short movie played, everything in English, however not all items from the exhibition are detailed (in English at least), that's something to improve, but it's fascinating anyway. Highly recommend.

Great museum! €5 student discount.
Although all the written text is in Dutch, at the ticket office they provide you:
- a newspaper which is the translation of all the historical dates and facts printed on the walls (that you can keep)
- and a laminated sheet with the story of the most important objects displayed
The rest of objects, cards and flags I used Google Lens translation, and all together I had no problems understanding what was displayed.
For the video they show, it can be any language they set, and as the majority of the people at the time preferred English, that was the audio selected.
The stories in the video are connected to the objects on the walls, a beautiful touch that bring them to life.
All in all it's a Highly Recommended Museum :-)

If you are into history and WW2 events - this museum might be the thing for you. This museum describes mostly troubles that Rotterdam had to go trough during WW2 and has detailed descriptions of events in more of less chronological order. Most of the museum is on Dutch but they do offer a English guide as well. Loads of interactive video materials that take you trough details of the war in Netherlands. Very attentive staff in the museum which wants to make sure that you have everything what you need.

Small museum. If you are looking for details and historic footage, your expectations will not be met. I'll explain myself: you have general info (written only in Dutch) on how the war started and some info on the Rotterdam bombings which give you a general idea. The motion picture shown is more about individuals and their specific situation than the facts as such. Nevertheless if you're more into memorabilia which are the core of this museum, this is perhaps the place to stop by. As a plus you're handed over a tablet of which the content is user-friendly built (see photo with yellow banner). After having keyed in some coordinates of the artefact, it will tell you what it is about. At the very end of your walk, there are some pictures projected foreseen of voice. To me very interesting, there facts are told.

Small museum that chronicles life in Rotterdam, mainly during the German occupation in the second world war. Very helpful staff who provided a written guide in English and a short A/V presentation, which they will also show in English if there is a demand. Certainly worth a visit.

Small but beautiful museum about Rotterdam during the war. The artifacts that they have are truely special, and some of them show the devastation of the German bombardment and the city fire that followed.
Traveling To History — Google review
We really enjoyed this museum. It has a nice flow: first it goes over the history of WWII in Rotterdam and shows how severely the German bombings affected the city. Then it has a sizable collection of artifacts recovered from the city from 1939 to 1945, along with an English booklet with descriptions of some of the artifacts.

Amazing place and people. They've made efforts to make the museum able to accomodate for non-dutch people since most languages are dutch. Staff is very kind and caring for visitors.
Do note that since the pandemic, they operate on a cashless transaction basis.

Very interesting museum displaying a well selected variety of items each carrying a story. What a shame a city such as Rotterdam with rich history has only ONE city museum. Please open more exhibitions, Rotterdam needs it!

What a fascinating museum describing Rotterdam's history during WWII. It is very well organised and the various displays are fascinating to see and learn from. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommended when you are (or live in) Rotterdam. The last 8 photos were from Museum Rotterdam at Timmerhuis which regrettably is closed permanently
Van Nelle Factory is a 1930s art hub housing creative companies in Rotterdam. It was once a bustling factory that produces coffee, tea and tobacco. The site remains a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Guided tours are offered on most Saturdays and Sundays at 1pm.
Massive building which is used for various events. I was there for art Rotterdam. Which lets you wander around the ground floor and discover art.

We went here for the Swan markets. It's a nice building, and the markets were great fun. Public transport gets you close, or you can choose to pay for parking.
The Swan markets were fun and there was a nice selection of foods. I did expect a bit more variety of stuff, but it was all nice and hand made. Very surprised by the stand that sold taxidermied insects and such. Beautiful stuff.

The war memorial known as The Destroyed City is a striking bronze monument created by the acclaimed artist Ossip Zadkine. It serves as a poignant reminder of the devastation caused when Rotterdam was decimated by Nazi forces during their invasion and occupation of Holland. This beautiful statue stands as a testament to the tragic events that unfolded on May 14th, 1940, when the city's medieval center was destroyed.
Dramatic, powerful, and sad. Rotterdam was flattened by the Nazis as the first step in their brutal invasion and occupation of Holland.

Fitting tribute to the city that lost it's heart and built itself up after the Blitz. The view is amazing.
I'd advice travellers to take a water taxi about 5 mins walk from here and take it to Hotel New York. The taxi ride underneath the Erasmus bridge is breathtaking. From the Hotel New York stop go to the brewery nearby called Fenix Food Factory. Enjoy one of the 30+ IPAs sitting next to the docks overlooking the Rotterdam skyline.

Got to visit with some of my Dutch relatives! Definitely best enjoyed on a bike. Loved seeing all the scenery and even got to watch someone manage their windmill. The shop was cute and got to buy some fresh strawberries from a nice man selling them there. Also, the cafe was a nice cozy spot to chill and savour the moment.

This was an unusual experience, you can experience nice scenery, you can choose to walk or ride a bike around. Sometimes bikes are not available for unknown reasons (or at least not understandable for me) and that would be the only remark. Other than that, definitely worth of visiting and experiencing. Entrance fee is a bit on the high side.
The Oudehaven is a beautiful harbour with a docked cruise ship that serves as a restaurant, hotel and tourist attraction. It's perfect for leisurely time spent enjoying a beer and some budget-friendly eats.

The boats lie very picturesquely here in the old harbor. A small shipyard in the very south completes the ensemble. The cafés and restaurants invite you to linger, you can sit here in a very dignified and quiet manner, while the hustle and bustle of the big city reigns just a hundred meters away.

What a lovely area, just a couple of minutes from the Cube houses and the Markthal and close to a number of hotels such as CitizenM and restaurants such as Fitzgeralds. Blaak station, the Metro and tram are just a few minutes away or you can arrive in foot or by cycle.
By day it’s a beautiful, relaxed area: there are lots of seats to sit and watch the world go by.
The harbour if full of old and unusual boats many of which have supporting information posted closer by.
Also look out for the Calex building which is really stunning and dominates done corner.
In the evening the area comes alive as the many bars and restaurants quickly fill up with tourists and locals alike.
Slepervest and other short streets are piled with cycles as people enjoy the lovely safe environment.
If you are staying close by it’s definitely worth visiting to soak up the atmosphere.

Rotterdam welche Überraschung.
Architektur sensationell kreativ.
Beschwerden interessieren Niemanden.
Hier in Rotterdam alles dagegen extrem sauber und strukturiert.

Rotterdam what a surprise.
Architecture sensationally creative.
Rotterdam was 90% destroyed by the war. It's unbelievable what the Dutch have achieved here.
For example, we were in the train station and the library.
Everything clean and modern.
We no longer visit Frankfurt and the library of the year because of the incredible smell due to the many people who just want to go to the toilet or warm up. I no longer receive newspapers as soon as they open because they have disappeared.
Nobody cares about complaints.
Here in Rotterdam, however, everything is extremely clean and structured.

Really scenic old harbour with anciant charme. Sitting here and drink something in one of the old-fashioned pubs is awesome nice. Old ship and newer high-buildings in the back give a good contrast. Good for a short brake after long sightseeing walks.
The monument de Boeg (the Arrow) is a beautiful, respectful memorial to the victims of World War Two. It's good to be reminded of what happened in this terrible war, and the concrete statue represents the horrible events well. The surrounding area is great for a walk, and it's also great for taking photos or just sitting around and relaxing.
Today I walked along the maas and stopped at this concrete statue because it caught my attention. I looked online and saw it was a war monument. I think this is a beautiful and respectful monument, it’s good to be reminded what happened in the WW2, think about the people who have fallen. I think the concrete represents the horrible happenings well. #monument #rotterdam #worldwartwo

This is a very large monument to those involved in WW2. It stands on the corner of a very pretty park full of flowers and which offers wonderful views of the Harbour and the Erasmus Bridge. The park also has many large and very comfortable seats with backs in which you can rest and enjoy the scenery.

A magnificent war monument in Rotterdam, de Boeg (the Arrow). Locals and tourists would walk by without paying too much attention to it. That's a great shame! The monument itself is very nice to see. But, what's better is the walk along the old harbour. You hear the roaring waves of the river hitting the banks as you walk along. You can sit down one the benches and enjoy the lovely skyline and cool breeze at night. Perfect for an evening walk.
The harbor of Wijnhaven is an excellent location for visitors to Rotterdam. The inner harbor is spacious and easily accessible, while the market hall and surrounding areas are bustling with activity all day long. There are several boat tours available that will take guests through the many nooks and crannies of the harbor, as well as its beautiful red lighthouse boat.
