The Alfredo Kraus Auditorium, a contemporary and fortress-like structure, overlooks the beach in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. It is named after a renowned tenor from the Canary Islands and sits on a volcanic rock base at the iconic Las Canteras Beach. The auditorium is known for hosting various arts events such as plays, music concerts, humorous performances, and even an international film festival. Its location offers visitors panoramic views of the city and the Atlantic Ocean.
Came here to attend work conference. Lovely state of the art design. The acoustics of the main hall is lovely especially when music is being played live. Also like this another hall which is adjacent to the main building.

Big Concert hall for Rock, Classic, Jazz,... Super Sound ! We had brilliant nights there with great musicians and people. Las Palmas is a capital with almost half a million inhabitants and, thanks to successful concepts, has low incidence values - without lockdown.

First class venue! It is well maintained furnished well and has some amazing views. There are multiple conference rooms and theaters here. They have varying capacity for people but are all of comparable quality. The service is also very professional and the seating is comfortable.

Spectacular venue stunning auditorium, visited on the 29th of December and seen the las palmas symphony orchestra newyear/Christmas show. Brilliant! An absolute must if in the city.

:) Lovely venue and affordable. We took an opportunity to catch a concert last minute last night as seats were affordable and available at the ticket counter out front. We were dressed casual and it was not an issue to enter. We did almost miss curtain call as we initially went up the wrong staircase to our assigned seats. Venue lower seating was at capacity. Food and drink at intermission was affordable and cheaper then at the cinema. Unfortunately Coca Cola was not available, only Pepsi. The views fantastic from the balconies open during intermission. Architecture and sounds inside the venue fantastic. Only one cell phone rang during the performance. Highly recommended.

The seat numbers are strange. But other than this it was a perfect place for show and concerts.

Excellent, modern concert house with fantastic acoustics. While in Las Palmas it is worth checking out their program (classical, modern and jazz music, also ballet). We enjoyed an amazing concert of David Russell, Grammy Award winning classical guitarist. Unforgettable experience!

The Alfredo Kraus Auditorium in Las Palmas is a visually striking masterpiece even when admired only from the outside. The architectural elegance and the seaside location make it a captivating landmark. While I didn't have the chance to explore the interior, the external design alone is a testament to the city's commitment to art and culture. A must-see for architecture enthusiasts and a promising peek into Las Palmas' cultural scene.

It is a truly amazing facility, both architecturally and the high quality of the events scheduled. There's a variety of venues, ranging from a small hall with the intimate ambiance of a jazz club to a large concert hall, all with excellent seating and acoustics. We've heard a classical guitar concert, a jazz group, the London Symphony Orchestra, and the chamber orchestra of the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields. All were superb, world-class performances.

Magnificent building. Stands alone fitting very well the surroundings with its imposing design. It is truly a beautiful landmark. The auditorium also has a very varied program for al tastes. This building is a big success for the architecture in the Canaries. I hope they keep on replicating it, understanding the value good buildings bring to the cities.

Really cool place. A bit odd for a conference (lots of rooms spread out) but the big walls were really nice and you can't beat the views

Visited back in February, what a great day. Amazing beach in Las Palmas. I appreciate the good free facilities and services such as toilets, changing rooms, showers. Also was very clean. The beach 🏖️ is very long and you can just relax, or do different sports or activities such as volleyball 🏐, surfing 🌊 or just take a walk 🚶♂️along the promenade where you can find lots of shops, bars 🍹,caffee☕ and restaurants 🍜. Wheelchairs accessibility ♿,
Everything there can make it a nice experience and a nice holiday spot.

On a November morning a stroll along the beach at 26'c was better than a cold damp dreary day in England. Lovely to be in the sun again, couldn't think of a better place

Perfect place for sunset pictures. Very calming and refreshing. Definitely worth visiting.

The beach is excellent. It is sandy with nice water and it is also very long so you can find different interesting spots where to stay. In the northern part the water is calm, in the middle you can find rocks in the water so be careful and in the southern part there are waves suitable for surfing. I would 100% recommend!
Momo — Google review
Very nice but always crowded. Walk enough through north before you jump in, there is a sea pool there, you can easily swim and be careful where you set your towel, tie can make you wet otherwise all of a sudden

A fantastic place to be. Such a nice and wide beach with it's cool and smooth sand which is fantastic to walk in. There are places to change clothing and the security is high with several life guards along the entire beach. A perfect place for a day on holiday either if you want to swim or just lie down and rest in the sun. Or both.
Fredrik Eriksmo — Google review
Nice beach place with a long walkway next to the beach. A lot of restaurants and cafeterias can be find. Lot of local people at the beach which makes it feel more local than touristic. The beach has different „water areas“. Calm and almost no waves at the very top, waves and rocks in the middle. All in all very good for us (family with 2y old kid).

Shops that are reasonably priced.
Beautiful sands and a totally popular place with locals and tourists alike.

Playa de Las Canteras in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is an enchanting destination that captivates both locals and tourists alike. With its expansive golden sandy beach, turquoise waters, and vibrant promenade, this beach destination has much to offer.
The beach itself is clean and well-maintained, perfect for sunbathing and relaxation. The gentle waves also make it ideal for swimmers and water sports enthusiasts. The iconic rock formation known as "La Barra" adds a picturesque element to the view and is an excellent spot for snorkeling.
Along the promenade, you'll find numerous restaurants, bars, and shops, allowing you to savor delicious local cuisine and shop for souvenirs. In the evenings, the promenade comes alive with street performers and music, creating a lively atmosphere.
It's worth noting that the beach can get quite crowded on weekends, so visiting on weekdays might be a good idea for a quieter experience.
Playa de Las Canteras is a perfect destination for both relaxation and entertainment, offering something for everyone. A must-visit location in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria!

Wonderfully vibrant yet relaxed feel for a bit of October sun. Plenty for everyone with various shops, bars, restaurants and bakeries lining the beachfront and an area for beach volleyball.
Our timing seems to have avoided the large crowds as I would imagine this having a different feel during the peak of the Summef

Good beach, quality and space improves as you head towards La isleta. Endless restaurants and bars along the whole beach. There are also showers and tap for washing of feet. Beach is fairly peaceful and we were not disturbed by beach vendors.
M Ade — Google review
Very diverse and enjoyable beach! Plenty of sand :) ranging from normal gold towards Isleta to almost black near the surfing center. Weather is always warmer during the low tide in the first half of the day, rocks in the ocean are visible and all the rainbow fishes are out and easy to watch - they come close to the bay. You can even feed them-great fun for kids. Also this is a good time for snorkeling as waves are low.
In the second part of the day there's high tide and waves are huge, mixed with sand. The ocean takes back quickly most of the beach.

A beautiful beach, fine sand, transparent water. I was there first week of January 2024 and outside temperature was around +25, you can just swim and sunbathe 🌞 🏖

We were staying on a hotel right on the beach so it was great to just pop out of the room and relax there. The beach is really clean (saw it being cleaned every morning), the waters are really nice and there is enough space for everyone. The promenade around the beach is a nice place to walk around and is filled with bars and restaurants of all sorts. Highly recommended if you are in the area !!
Plaza de Santa Ana is a charming square situated in the historical Vegueta district of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Notably, it features a stunning cathedral, the Santa Ana Cathedral, and two iconic bronze dog sculptures at its entrance. Other notable buildings in the vicinity are the 17th-century Palacio Regental and remnants of the Bishops palace that was devastated by fire. The Museo Diocesano de Arte Sacro also houses an impressive collection of religious art.
It is a lovely square next to the cathedral of Santa Ana in Las Palmas which is surrounded by impressive old buildings . I would recommend visiting the cathedral ,it costs 2€ and you can get on the top and get access to a stunning view of the Plaza de Santa Ana and the city.I'm sure that the elegant architecture and the irresistible energy will make your visit unforgettable.
Moreover, there are some nice terrace bars, where you can sit down for anything ranging a glass of wine to a tapa.

Very nice peaceful clean plaza to hang out in the lovely under-rated Old Town of Las Palmas. Visited during a weekday in early May and very quiet. It was a cloudy day otherwise photos would have been really nice. We visited the cathedral and museum afterwards which is definitely worth the 3 euros.

I hope that this place lives forever in my memories because it is wonderful. Very charming whether day or night. My favorite moment in this plaza was the warm night before we left the island, stomach full of tapas and Spanish beer, cool wind, flowers in bloom, moon light shining down, and people all around quietly conversing or playing toss with their dogs. Go make some island memories at Plaza de Santa Ana!

One of the beautiful squares of Las Palmas located in the old part of the city, which is ideal for evening and morning walks. Great atmosphere of the streets and old buildings. There are many museums nearby that you must see, and remember that this is not a metropolis, it is a wonderful, quiet, not spoiled (yet) city.

The old town of Las Palmas is really worth a visit. If you are staying in Canteras area, take a bus, it's 1,40 euros to get to the bus station called Teatro.
Walk around, have a coffee or something to eat an enjoy! Lots of museums around if you are interested in.

Picturesque square located in the old part of Las Palmas. The whole area is worth a visit - narrow cobblestone streets, colourful colonial-style buildings with wooden balconies, and vibrant squares - a perfect place to admire historic architecture while taking a leisurely stroll.

You can see 8 green metal dogs. They represent the history of the name of Canaries islands. It wasn't from birds that the Canary Islands, known in Spanish as Islas Canarias, got their name, but dogs, or perhaps seals depending on what you believe. The name comes from the Latin word for dog, canaria, and was given by the first Europeans to arrive here

Las Palmos. If you want a break from the pool and fancy some clothes shopping it's pretty good, not great but plenty to look round. My 17 year old daughter was happy. Plenty of cafes and the bus station gets you in and out covering most of the island.

The Elder Museum of Science and Technology is a contemporary science museum located in Parque Santa Catalina. The museum offers interactive exhibits, including a replica space station, where visitors can explore hands-on displays and experience the excitement of space travel. The museum also features a 3D cinema and planetarium for immersive educational experiences. Additionally, the park surrounding the museum transforms into a vibrant nightlife hub at night, with bars, clubs, and discos bustling with activity.
This is a great place to go with kids over 3. It has a very playful and interactive theme running throughout. The staff are fantastic and the prices are very affordable compared to other attractions in the area. Plenty to see and the tickets are valid all day. Highly recommend.

Great place if you like science and technology. Place was almost empty on a Sunday, around noon. For me biggest problem was the fact that most writing is in Spanish. Some exhibits have translation but not more than 20% I would say. You can use Google translate with the camera but it takes time. Fighter jet is for sure best feature there. 6€ for the ticket is worth paying.

It's a great little museum with a 3 story building. And there are lots of things from planetary objects to almost everything. It's amazing how they manage to show so many things in this building. It's a perfect museum for kids. There is a lot to learn at a basic level. There are also 30 minute shows about human life from stone age to till future.

Good museum if you are taking kids. Be aware when you visit if exhibitions are not closed - most were when I visited on March 2022. There is some educational information for the little ones, but overall it is a shallow experience. Entrance for foreigners for 6 euros.

Great place to visit visiting! Only down side would be exhibition writing in Spanish. Nice exhibition of fighter jet and you can easily spend hour or hour and half there

:) Still really good. We miss a few exhibits that they used to have - the free / extra gyroscope experience especially - the robot coaster is a really neat alternative and has various levels of speed and rotation you can request beyond average :). You do have an additional charge for the robot coaster. Clean, well presented, staff professional, informative and helpful. We got lucky to have the place almost to ourselves last Sunday afternoon. Of course when the museum is empty it is a lot easier to pass through quickly and you miss the extra experience of watching others learn and explore. Highly recommended, especially for kids. Bonus: Air conditioning throughout :)

One of the best museums I have ever visited. I’ve been through the ones in London and elsewhere in Europe.

Worth the money and the visit .good place for adults too.

This fabulous museum is a whole experience, from its interactive installations, to the engaging planetarium, the 3D cinema, or the different simulators that they have on display. There's just so much to see and do. It's accessible to anyone looking for an entertaining, enlightening experience, with friends or family. Almost every installation is presented both in Spanish and in English. Regarding the staff, they are a group of lovely, professional people whose kindness and predisposition to guide and share facts just make the visit to this museum even better. You can even leave the place and come back on the same day without having to buy a new ticket.
No matter how many times I visit this place, I always discover or learn something new. I totally recommend it to everyone.

Very interesting museum, much better than we expected for a tourist area. Highly recommend trying the 'walk the plank' virtual reality and sitting in the fighter jet cockpit. Don't miss the slightly hidden entrance to the airliner fuselage. A great day out and a good picnic area in the park outside. Parking is easy, behind the museum and cheap.

Good place for children and good price in entrance.
A lot of thematics in one mueum: plane, space, dinosaure, biology, volcanic stones, ...
Some fun for children. You can spend 2 or 3 hours there, and maybe more, to have a tour.
People are very kind and helpful.
Unfortunately, everything is in spanish. No other language is available :(

Great learnings for adults and kids. There are different subjects from biology to geometry. Very spacious that allows self experimenting. Numerous exhibitions are also there. Fantastic little museum that focuses on interactive displays and activities to get their message across.
I thought I would be done in an hour but ended up spending 3 hours there watching 3D films, entering the planetarium and being part of the superb house of the future robot presentation.
Lots to see and do for both children and adults alike.

Really cool museum, with several floors. Lots for kids to interact with. There’s a VR for exploring Egyptian tombs or walking on a skyscraper. Theres a planetarium dome, that has shows every half hour or so, that last around ten minutes. There are other 3D movies. futuristic life demonstrations showing how the future may look, and loads more. If you’re in the area, especially with kids, then definitely check this place out, they will enjoy it for a few hours. Staff were brilliant too, more than happy to show you around or help with VR etc.. definitely worth it 👍
