The largest covered food market in Italy is the Mercato di San Benedetto, which features separate departments for produce, fish, and more. The market is open each day except for Sundays and is the busiest during the early morning hours. The cafes and restaurants surrounding the market are a great place to snack on fresh food as well as enjoy a cup of coffee or a glass of wine.
Best place to buy cheese. Went to this shop and had to opportunity to taste all kinds of cheese, before buying some. Also you can buy all sort of fresh food and beverage.

INCREDIBLE! Whatever budget or dietary requirements you have to go here. Absolute highlight was Profumi di sicilia and their cannolis and arancini (recommend the ragú arancini, much better than the mozzarella and prosciutto). Best cannoli I’ve ever had!

I love markets in general and this one fits right in. Great variety of cheese, fish, vegies and frut, lots of bread and snacks (sweet and sour). You can even grab a lunch on a way out. Parking in front is small but you don't wait too long for someone to leave.

San Benedetto Market is an absolute gem nestled in the heart of Cagliari. This bustling indoor market offers a world of culinary treasures spread across two floors, providing visitors with a captivating and unforgettable experience.
The first thing that strikes you upon entering the market is the vibrant atmosphere. The air buzzes with excitement as you make your way through the seemingly endless rows of stalls. Each one is brimming with the finest products and a kaleidoscope of colors, textures, and scents that are a feast for your senses.
The lower floor is dedicated to the seafood market, where you'll find an exceptional array of fresh fish and shellfish, displayed with utmost care and attention to detail. The freshness of the seafood is undeniable, as the selection is constantly replenished to ensure the highest quality possible. You'll find yourself captivated by the sheer variety, from the glistening salmon to the iridescent squid and the succulent prawns.
Venturing to the upper floor, you're greeted with a cornucopia of produce, meats, cheeses, and baked goods. The fruits and vegetables are ripe and bursting with flavor, while the expertly butchered meats and the finest cheeses beckon you to indulge in their rich, savory goodness. The irresistible aroma of freshly baked bread wafts through the air, drawing you towards the lovingly crafted pastries and breads.
What truly sets San Benedetto Market apart, however, is the warmth and passion of the vendors. They are not only friendly and welcoming but also incredibly knowledgeable about their products. Their enthusiasm for their craft is infectious, and they are more than happy to share their expertise and provide recommendations tailored to your tastes.
The prices at San Benedetto Market are refreshingly reasonable, making it a perfect destination for food lovers on any budget. The quality of the products is consistently excellent, ensuring that every visit is a feast for the senses.
The San Benedetto Market is a culinary paradise that should be at the top of every food lover's list. With its amazing variety, exceptional quality, and friendly atmosphere, it's no wonder that we can't wait to return and explore this gastronomic wonderland in even greater detail.

The place had a great energy when we got there at 7:30 on a Friday night. We were taken to our table and found so many great sounding choices on the menu that we were lost. Fortunately, our server was amazing, and once we told her what sounded good to us, she helped us pick from among them (and suggested a couple others) to form a terrific menu for us to share, and then recommended a delicious, affordable Sardinian wine to go with it all. Most impressive was her knowledge of the food and its preparation; I love it when a server understands the food that well!

I wouldn't bother going out if my way to go here again. It sold nice fresh fruit, veg, meat and fish, but there was nothing 'ready' to eat at all! And extortionate prices for tourists. They could see us coming a mile off and charged 5 Euros for the tiniest punnet of strawberries!
I wouldn't add it to your iteniary at all.

great local market selling fresh fruit and vegetables, pastries, cheeses, fish, meat, and some other non perishable groceries. i recommend getting here before 11am as many market sellers have sold out by this point. very reasonable prices and sellers often let you try some products before you buy.

This is really amazing market - fish market is bombastic (ground floor) and local food market (the first floor) is also great. The fish market provides unbelievable variety of fish and sea food. Sales guys are very friendly and you can taste everything. I did enjoy oysters and mussels. We visited the place in the morning on Saturday. Highly recommended to anybody coming to Cagliari.
This archaeological museum showcases artefacts from centuries of Sardinian history, from the Neolithic to the Roman era. Highlights include colossal figures known as the "Giganti di Monte Prama," a superb collection of bronze figurines, and a number of interesting finds from the pre-Nuragic and Nuragic age up to the Byzantine era. There is also a collection of wax models based on dissections by Francesco Antonio Boi, one of Italy's most renowned anatomists.
Excellent organized.
You can learn the history of this marvelous ancient place.
Many and understandable informations!

Asked for an audio guide, but to our dismay it is only available in Italian! A good display and written description of the various periods with fantastic pieces of pottery, statuettes, stone figures. The building has a contemporary cool design blending some old and new structures. Worth a visit. The 3 stars given is because of the audio guide. Ticket price €10

a really interesting museum! it is also all explained in english, and it's even a little bit interactive. a lot of information about the history and the nuraghic civilization. also the entry fee was not too expensive, there are even 3 floors of museum you can visit. sadly the audio guide was just in italian and you had to pay 3€ extra. but it's definitely worth a visit! 👣

I don't understand why discounts for students are restricted for certain and very specific courses, and only for UniCa , not even other universities based in Sardinia!. Museum and places of culture should be inclusive for all, not esclusive for certain. This is a mind restricted behaviour typical of province institution, in italiano una scemenza bella e buona and you should correct this since is not fair and even embarassing when you bring foregin people over. Moreover some of the captions around the museum are written in italian only, check yourself.

Impressive evidence of human evolution, a timeline backed with artefacts, so impressive.
Iulia Arsan — Google review
Well above our expectations: very rich in artefacts, excellent explanations in very good English, engagingly written and not full with scientific words.
I read in advance some Google reviews which said the museum is small. Really? It is 4 floors!!! I noticed when we were there that by the time people reached the 4th floor little had still patience for yet another broken pot :). Neither did we.
Also: The ladies at the ticket office were very attentive and proactively informed us our son of 16 does not have to pay. We had already read this in a goggle review (and had closs checked on their site) and came prepared because the day before when we were at the Barimini nuraghi place the ticket person refused to agree with us people until the age of 17 had reduced traffic (despite the fact it was written in 4 languages at the ticket office! ).

A lovely place to escape the rain and learn about the long and fascinating history of this island. I agree that the pathway through the museum is a bit confusing but even if you don't follow the chronology perfectly you still get lots out of it. I was lucky in that an enthusiastic staff member at the museum took me on a mini one hour tour. A wonderful experience for me traveling solo!
Cindy L — Google review
Small and boring exhibition. It has has a couple of cool things, but nothing special. We entered because it was raining. Not worth 9€ (on the card it say it is 7€, but when we asked for student discount the price was 9€ pp).
Ante Gagulić — Google review
This was an interesting visit. Saved mostly by the incredible artefacts housed within. The museum is obviously quite dated and as such has a kind of stuffy vibe. The staff were sometimes friendly and sometimes unphased or disinterested in your interest. There were many walkways that led you to dead ends and there was no flow to the viewing. Moreover the chronological order is not according to ascending floors and you are jostled between epochs.
But my goodness, there are a few gems that will make the labyrinth well worth the effort.
Go in with a vintage experience in mind and I'm sure you'll enjoy the ride.
Special mention, an Italian sign language interpreters telling facts and stories on screens throughout the exhibit
Monte Urpinu is a large, public park located on a hilltop in the city of Cagliari. It features tree-lined avenues and a children's playground, as well as panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. The park is popular for wildlife viewing and hiking, and is one of the best things to do in Cagliari for people who enjoy physical outdoor activities.

If you're visiting Cagliari and seeking a picturesque and serene escape, look no further than Parco di Monte Urpinu! This park is an incredible afternoon experience, particularly in the spring when the lush greenery, blooming flowers, and enchanting water features create a true haven.
Parco di Monte Urpinu offers something for everyone. Families with children will find various areas specifically designed for their enjoyment, while those without kids can still appreciate the park's beauty and tranquility. The well-kept paths and ample seating in the form of benches provide the perfect setting for a leisurely stroll or a quiet moment of reflection.
Animal lovers, rejoice! This park is incredibly dog-friendly, so feel free to bring your furry friend along. But it's not just dogs that call Parco di Monte Urpinu home – the local wildlife is a true spectacle. The lake teems with friendly ducks and turtles that will practically eat out of your hand, making for a delightful and memorable encounter.
While there are colonies of feral cats roaming around the park that may appear intimidating, rest assured they don't cause any trouble. However, the real stars of Parco di Monte Urpinu are the majestic peacocks that freely wander the grounds. These beautiful creatures allow visitors to get remarkably close for photographs, but remember, they are still wild animals and should not be touched.
In summary, Parco di Monte Urpinu is a must-visit destination in Cagliari. Its beautiful landscapes, abundant wildlife, and family-friendly atmosphere make for a perfect afternoon outing. Don't miss out on the opportunity to experience this hidden gem – you won't be disappointed!

The Bastione Saint Remy is a landmark structure in the city of Cagliari, on the coast of Sardinia, built in the 19th century atop ancient city walls. The white limestone facade and wide-open terrace provide stunning views of the harbor and surrounding areas.

The view of the city from the Bastion is wonderful. The whole structure is very impressive, especially the steps leading up to the top. Poetta beach, Sardinia, Italy. We are currently still in Sardinia and visited Poetta beach today. We're here from 2nd-9th October 2022, so pretty much out of season. Poetta beach is simply stunning. It's miles of beautiful white sand and crystal clear water. Such a delight to go into the sea with just sand beneath your toes. My only bugbear is the sellers coming up to you every 20 mins ALL DAY. No matter how many times you tell them no, they do not leave you alone. The beach was so quiet and weather was glorious, with a nice breeze, perfect day out. You get your bus tickets from the tobacco shop and they run every 10 mins. Buses PF or PQ. Ensure you get the 15 mins bus as the other one takes you around 1.25 mins!! There were places to eat along the beach and we secured a table no problem 😊

Quartiere Castello is a charming old town that can be found on a hilltop in Cagliari, enclosed by towers and walls, including the Torre di San Pancrazio and Torre dell’Elefante built during the early 14th century. The impressive Bastione di Saint Remy staircase leads to Terrazza Umberto I - an enormous plaza that offers stunning views of both the city and sea.
The Sanctuary of Our Lady of Bonaria is a Gothic church on a hill overlooking the city of Cagliari, Sardinia, Italy that is popular with pilgrims for its statue of the Virgin Mary and Christ. The church was built in the 14th century, and underwent restoration work in the 18th century.
Very nice and amazing place - you can find here a tranquility. We were here alone and visited both churches - both of them are beautiful and full of faith.

The origins of this church date back to 1324 in order to offer spiritual assistance to soldiers engaged in the siege of the city. The Parco Naturale Molentargius-Saline is a protected wildlife safari park home to diverse bird species and wetland habitats. The park is located just south of Cagliari, in Sardinia, Italy.
Before I visited I read most of the reviews here. I must say immediately that I loved my very long walk around the park as I love Biology and stop to admire not only birds but also flora and fauna.
We arrived at the park by taking the PF bus from piazza Matteotti. If you are staying at T Hotel there's bus 3 that stops you a 10 minutes walk away from the park. There are 3 options. €15 per person if you want to take the minibus with a local guide that can take you in all the places and explain to you. You can also hire a bike. I opted to take the 3 hours walk. I saw not only Flamingoes in the park but I also saw 4 flying ahead. I also saw ducks, cormorants, black wing stilts, moorehen, common sand Piper, collar doves, sea gulls, hooded crows, jack dows, and starlings. The walk is free of charge. I really enjoyed it and recommend it for nature lovers, but other people might find nothing special or interesting for them.
J EG — Google review
Im only giving it two stars instead of one because we were lucky to get to see a flamingo close enough. Otherwise it would have been just a one because we couldn’t hire a bike as we needed an ID and tbh I wouldn’t give my passport to some strangers sitting at the desk, will all IDs on the desk easily for anyone to grab! It was only one person at the desk and she would walk around explaining things to tourists and leave the desk unattended while IDs with their forms are just there on table - not secure at all. We even offered credit card but they said no. This rule should change to leaving credit cards or perhaps deposit rather ID if they show they are not taking care of it properly.
The other reason is that all birds are in the distance you cannot see them. We walked for 40 to 50 mins in heat search for them and manage to see them in distance so then we decided to go towards the beach and luckily we saw one very close on left hand side in one of the lake, standing by itself so kinda made our day and happy at least all the efforts didnt go to waste.
Negar D.Masouleh — Google review
It really worth the guide tour by electric ‘bus’. Even if the bike plan sounds good you can really see more with the tour.
Clara Ruiz — Google review
Not bad overall. Tried to hire bikes but we were abruptly dismissed when we said we didn't have our passports with us for deposit. We'd have happily left a large monetary deposit but that's not possible.
Then we had to walk a very long way trying to track down a flamingo. Luckily we managed to come across one, which made the trek worthwhile.
From there it was quite easy to wander over to the beach to continue with our day.
Daniel Kirby — Google review
I really recommend the guided tour. The guide was very interesting & knowledgeable. The park is too big to walk around in less than 2 to 3 hours , also with the guided tour you see areas that are otherwise closed off. Well worth a visit.
Lisa Baycock — Google review
Very nice, it’s a long walk but with bike or step it’s a beautiful experience. I have an brace on my knee but they allowed us to use our electric steps. We saw the flamingos nearby and the park itself is beautiful. I recommend going
Lisa Wauters — Google review
If you happen to be in the area, I would definitely visit. It’s kind of a weird place but with a certain charm. There is no entrance fee (though you can rent bikes or get various guided tours for an expanded experience) so you can just drop by briefly to visit the flamingos, no need to spend hours exploring the park. I wouldn’t come specifically for this though from a distance. There are only a handful of flamingos and at quite a distance (though still really cool to see in the wild!). There are many other places to see them in Sardinia so if that’s your main reason, just pick a place closest to you rather than coming here. I did enjoy the experience though and really like the surrounding architecture many seem to be complaining about - it makes it unique to see the wildlife in such an urban setting.
Edit: since I stayed in the neighbourhood, I came back another time and I would suggest if you’re by car and don’t have luck with flamingos, might be worth driving to a different entrance. You also have a higher chance of seeing various birds in early evening (or morning) than middle of the day. And it’s probably worth it to get a bike or a guided tour. There is so much more to see than what I managed on foot.
If you’re bothered by the buildings in the background at this entrance, explore the park further. There are many far more scenic spots.
Ivana G. — Google review
Free entry attraction, it is not really a park but a walkway around the 2 lakes and across the ruins of what I think are the remaining of the old salt extraction facilities, it is not maintained but the colour of lakes a pale green is amazing as well as the birds.
Iulia Arsan — Google review
Read some reviews from ignorant people who says the park is not well-maintained; people should read about the history of the place and how it became as it is today. It is NOT a Zoo or a botanical garden. It’s a wetland and old salt mine.
Anyway, I’d recommend taking a guided tour in the buggy or rent bikes at the Infopoint.
It is not possible to get very close to the flamingos, which is fine, but do yourself a favor and do a reality- and expectation check before going, or you might expect to be very disappointed.
For me, it was amazing to experience flamingoes in Europe in the wild and not just in Africa.

Very interesting environment of disused salt mine which has been inhabited by flamingos! There’s not a lot in the way of information about the mine or the flamingos which I think could be improved. But if you read up on it before hand it’s easy to appreciate. There’s an option to rent a bike and cycle around the park which I recommend. You can get to the flamingos and back within 1hr. There’s also a small cafe and toilets in the visitor center.
Sarah Rowan — Google review
At this time of the year there’s not much flamingo left plus you have to walk like 15 to 20 minutes from the bus stop to the parc. Plus you have to bring your picnic otherwise there is no restaurant to eat.
Edwige Pache — Google review
uuumm, listen, this is a waste of time. It’s ugly. It’s not taken care of there’s not many flamingos there, trash is everywhere, there are no beautiful views, end of story. Everywhere you go in this park you can hear the cars on the highway, you cannot escape the urbanization of this town anywhere. I brought a camera with me and I haven’t taken a single shot because everything is ugly - it’s like somebody build a prison or some kind of concentration camps everywhere because of the wires around the entire park and the weird structures that were left here from the 60s it’s really really not pleasant. It doesn’t give the vibe of the nature at all. You still feel like you’re in some kind of movie (not a good one) it’s just left alone to be whatever it is and nobody cleans it nobody is taking care of the plants nobody is taking care of the roads. The way here is super long from the city center- if you don’t have a car it’s very painful and, the cars literally driving through the park all the time and people seem to be OK with it, which seems weird to me. The information center of the park looks like a concentration camp left abandoned and even though the park opens at 6:30 AM the information center with all the bikes you need to ride opens at 9 AM. And the cherry on top - there are very few flamingos here (we came in August)
I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PARK OR CALGIARI AT ALL.

The first thing that struck us was the welcome from Nicola (the owner) who made us feel at home right from the start: really pleasant. Secondly, the photos depicting the rooms are not doctored, they are really as you see them: new, chic, clean, tidy and comfortable, tastefully decorated and more than you might expect.
The B&B is very well located: you can visit the most evocative places in Cagliari simply by walking. In the surrounding area you can find numerous shops and exquisite restaurants that Nicola will not fail to suggest to you. I highly recommend it to everyone.
It was our first visit to Cagliari: for next time we already know where to stay!!

The Orto Botanico di Cagliari is one of Sardinia's most beautiful botanic gardens and contains a variety of plants, including tropical, succulent, as well as Mediterranean varieties. The garden was inaugurated in 1866 and is used by the University of Cagliari researchers for study purposes. Visitors are welcome to enjoy the garden's surroundings and spend a few hours getting lost in its many attractions.
Nice place to get out of the crowd! Lungs of the city with variety of species. Adult entry for 4 euros 💶 we spend 90 minutes there but it could take longer. Do not miss the museum hidden on the far right side.
Patrik Balv?n — Google review
The entrance area looks promising, so we decided to go visit the Orto Botanico.
To be honest: The entrance area is the only promising part of this place. All buildings are not accessible (although after looking inside I do not think would have done so anyway as they are all a big mess). Lots of plants in the park would urgently need water, many are already withered.
Entrance fee is 4€ (04/2022), woulkd not go there again.
Roman Wegmann — Google review
Nice compact botanical gardens. Bring mosquito repellent. You will see what is to be seen in an hour. It's right on the edge of local historic points. Also, there is a cool underground bomb shelter tour that runs daily (Google it) , from opposite these gardens, so you could do like I did, spend an hour here in the Botanic gardens, before moving on to do the tour...
Rowena Kelly — Google review
Rather quiet place - we liked the huge Ficus macrophylla tree near the cave - make sure to step by. Probably not the biggest garden, but worth the money to walk around during siesta summer time. At the very end of the garden you could even see the Roman amphitheater through the fence.

An amazing, calm place for walking and relaxing. We have been there in December, and all plants were green, even bananas. :) Friendly staff, low-price tickets. Must-be for everyone visiting Cagliari.

A lovely gardens, well laid out and with many of the exhibits labelled. The entrance fee is €4. Plenty of benches to sit. We visited in September when many of the flowers were not in bloom so perhaps earlier in the year would be better. We spent about one and half hours here. There are no cafe facilities but there are toilets which could do with some maintenance.
David Crouchen — Google review
Nice place to visit if you have a free afternoon in Cagliari: ticket only costs 4 euros and allows you to see a lot of different trees, plants and flowers!
The park lacks maps/indicators (you can only get a map if you scan a QR code at the entrance), but getting "lost" in it is way more fun than following a map :)
Ps: if you're lucky, you might find a few ducks hanging out among the palm trees.
Olga Buneev — Google review
4 euro for entry, very pretty botanical garden, great diversity, there were almost no people there in the off season. Very nice diversity of flora.
Gabriel Stoklas — Google review
A beautiful garden, full with exotic (to me as someone from Central Europe) plants. There is an entrance fee of 4 euros person which surprised me at first, but it’s totally worth it, because it’s really a place for tranquility and relaxation, that makes you just want to sit down on a bench and read a book (or write Google Maps reviews on your phone).

The best idea to chill if you stack in the city during hot lunch time
Huge park with lots of water pipes around, lake with turtles, fountain with golden fish and finally waterfall.
Cactus garden is a must see!
It’s not really busy during the weekend
Be aware entrance fee is €4, they accept cash or card
Iryna Fedorko — Google review
We visited the gardens on a weekday and had a great experience. There was no wait to get in and the place was pretty quiet.
The gardens offer a nice verity of vegetation and each plant has a little plaque explaining what it is. They also have turtles and koi fish which was probably our favourite part.
Everything is well kept, there are benches and an area with tables so you can have your lunch or just take a break and relax.
Overall I think it’s worth visiting especially at the 4€ entry price with no time limit.
Kamil Skwirut — Google review
Nice park with few places to sit down. Very easy access by public transport. Apparently you can see over the fence to the amphitheatre. There are also s few caves to see on the west side of the garden.
Maciek Grzeszczuk — Google review
I was a bit wary as Cagliari looked quite a busy place but it was actually very quiet on a Saturday afternoon and we drove through and parked just outside the botanic gardens with no issues. And my parking is apparently accurate compared to that of the average Italian driver!
The botanic gardens were founded just over 200 years ago and were really rather good. It was quite a large space on a hillside and there were several water features and loads of plants, surprisingly! There were some fabulous cactii and grasses and loads of things I couldn't identify but were awesomely beautiful. We saw more basking lizards and terrapins in a pool as well. Everything was well labelled and there were loads of shaded areas with benches and little book shelves for people to lend or borrow books to read while enjoying the serenity of the gardens, a fantastically simple idea.

A wonderful, cool and calm green space near the centre of baking hot Cagliari. Some of the most amazing cacti you will ever see, and don't miss the cool Roman cistern on the western side. €4 well spent.

Monte Claro Park is a large park located in the city of Cagliari on the east coast of Sardinia. The park features walking and jogging paths, two dog parks, a pond, and abundant wildlife viewing. It is completely out of the tourist circuit and is fully authentic, with hills that offer panoramic views of the eastern and north-eastern parts of town.
Without a doubt the best park in Cagliari. It's quite big, very green, there are several playgrounds for kids, a pond, a bocce ball court, and a small bar. There are ducks, swans, turtles, roosters and probably more!
Great for everything from a picnic or a birthday party, to a spot to grab a couple beers with friends.
Stephen Kieninger — Google review
This park is so beautiful, not just because it’s full of turtles, ducks and singing birds, and not just because of the flowers, the olives and the grass: is one of the biggest parks in Cagliari, where the people exercise, the younger ones gather around, where the kids play football and the neighbors met to chat. Completely out of the tourist circuit. Completely authentic.

Tuvixeddu necropolis is an archaeological site situated on a vast hillside area that features burial chambers dating back to the Punic and Roman era. The necropolis contains over 1,200 graves, most of which are located on the ground while others are excavated in rock as hipogeus. There's a concrete path available for visitors to walk around, but certain areas are restricted. The entrance is free of charge with ample parking space outside.
Absolutely brilliant place to visit. A little bit of a walk out of town but it is well worth the walk. The information boards are really useful and it is possible to get really close to the tombs. On top of all of this it's completely free to enter.

Interesting place but not as much to see as I expected. The wooden information boards were almost impossible to read as they were worn out. Doesn’t take very long to do the lap of the place. Free entry and saw a few people there walking their dogs. A nice walk away from the main part of the city centre and way to see another area.

An awe inspiring landscape of hundreds of tombs from the 6th century BC to the 3rd Century AD. Free entry, and if you're lucky there'll just be you and the lizards. A large site, well maintained, with not much shade. It's a great open air museum.
Ganu Gasperoo — Google review
Nice place but please fix the signs. They're unreadable.
Boaze — Google review
Culturally, a very interesting site! However, the experience was somewhat unsatisfying, as many of the paths are unmarked dead ends and you can't circle around the site very well. Furthermore, the information boards next to the excavation sites are old and completely illegilble which means you don't really have any context for what you're looking at.
Francesco Bizzozero — Google review
Definitely a spot for history buffs, but watch out for the lawnmower vigilante! He's on a mission to scalp every last blade of grass along the sidewalk. Not even a single blade survived his grassy genocide. It's like the caretaker's ultimate dream is to turn the place into a suburban desert.
Free entry.
Monika P. — Google review
Short walk out west of the town. Free to enter but any of the information boards about the different eras/sections were faded into illegibility thus rendering them useless. Some of the walkways are shabby and one tomb is covered I think but the information about it was actually legible but there was no other context, I mean why erect this roof? Some good history not well managed.

Interesting place with over 1,200 graves from the Punic and Roman era. Most burials are located on the ground, and others are excavated in the rock (as hipogeus). The imposing limestone tower adorned with a sculpted elephant offers views of the city. It originally served as a defensive tower and can be accessed from Piazza Indipendenza and Via Universita. The medieval walls that once surrounded the tower were torn down, but one imposing gate and tower remain.
Torre dell'Elefante sits at the top of a hill overlooking the city and the port of Cagliari. It's a tough trek up, but if you plan your route in advance you can use a couple of strategically placed elevators that make the climb easier. From the area surrounding the tower, the views of Cagliari and its port are spectacular making the effort of the climb worthwhile. The tower is surrounded by historical venues, including the main cathedral and a couple of museums. There are also many restaurants and cafés if you need to take a break.
