The Te Palace is a museum in Venice with erotic frescoes. It is considered as one of Giulio Romano's masterpieces. The palace was commissioned by Federico Gonzaga and has cozy interiors and fascinating art displays. Admission is fee at 13 euro, but it is definitely worth the visit for at least 1 hour.
The best touristic attraction. Please go to the giants room, it is so well done we were there for 1-2 hours..you cand fell the history in this place. All rooms were explained which made us stay more and enjoy it...recommended 10 out of then 🎆🎆🎆🎆

Amazing palace in Mantua. It was very quiet when I visited yesterday. Lovely paintings and of course the room with the giants.

The entrance price is €15. (Not €7, Google map listed wrong). Every displayed room there’s English descriptions. Love the room with giants painting! Mantova’s free bus service takes you to the spot close to Te Palace, though it still requires about 10 minutes of walk.

It was an amazing experience! I haven't got any expectations before to go, but I felt in love with the art and the stories, cause we took a guide, which is a must! Now I understood the Renaissance and felt in love from the first sight, I love the story of Giulio Romano, already his fan! Sad that he is dead cause I would invite him to draw my apartment :) cause I love his art! Highly recommend!

A must if you’re visiting Mantova. Fabulous art and architecture.
Best seen in a sunny day; buying tickets in advance is useful to skip the queue.
Audio guides are cheap and useful to learn about the design and details (5€) and must be played on your own phone (so make sure you have your headphones with you if your phone does not have an headphone jack)
Good snack bar at the end.

Splendid renaissance Palace with gorgeous frescos and paintings. Beautiful simple gardens. Some of the rooms / attractions would benefit from restoration and / or ideas for exhibits
The Ducale Palace in Mantua is a vast complex of buildings that includes Gothic art, Renaissance architecture, and Lombard manierism. The palace is home to many frescoes by the masters Mantegna and Pisanello.
A must.
There are so many paintings and so many rooms that 2 hours are enough just to understand it's beauty.
The Italian Buckingham Palace. Judge you if it's better or not.

Didn’t expect much, but ended up really enjoying this muzeum.
The castle itsef is amazing, very nice and well preserved frescoes.
A lot of different items on display, everything from sea shells, crocodiles, greek and roman sculptures, to weapons.
Nice place for kids :)
Ivana Todorovic — Google review
Great art, not enough info :/
The path is sometimes indicated in a subtle way, so it’s easy to skip parts of the visit.
While there are extensive descriptions for the main artworks and rooms, the rest of the labels are quite short and don’t provide much info.
You can book tickets online and the queue is shorter, but why don’t allow the purchase online altogether?
So: the art, the rooms, the history… all great. But as a museum it should be designed and managed better. Whoever is running things in this potentially fabulous attraction should do better to do it justice.
Roberto Chiaveri — Google review
Great surprise in Montova which Is by no means the best known city of Italy, but this palace felt more as it was at the time than other more re-designed places. And if your kids know their Greek mythology (Illiad and Odyssey) this is like a giant comic strip. Don’t let the kids miss the horses painted on the roof. They change direction when the looker moves! Much more spectacular than Mona Lisa looking your way at the Louvre in Paris!

Unbedingt besuchen.

The Palazzo Ducale in Mantua is one of the most impressive castles in Italy. The different eras of Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque can be clearly seen on the facades of the ensemble. Inside, the lavish design surprises with frescoes, paintings, antique statues and sculptures, tapestries and stucco work. The inner courtyards and the small gardens/parks are also well worth seeing. An artistic enjoyment at the highest level. Definitely visit.

Gorgeous, stunning, magnificent place - a must-see when in Mantua. It’s a breathtaking walk through other times, passing through the marvellous interiors and seeing incredible frescoed rooms and artworks.
The entrance was a bit confusing, since the ticket office is a bit outside but we found no crowd so it was all good. Absolute gem worth visiting.

Stunning Mantegna frescos. Best to visit out of season to avoid the crowds and you can spend some wonderful moments with a Veronese master. Unforgettable.
Peter Swales — Google review
Truly palatial as we would say, dozens of rooms stuffed with magnificent treasures, entrancing views, stunning tapestries by Raphael, frescoes by Mantegna, Grechetto’s finest canvas, antique sculpture, more painted ceilings than you could ever imagine, secret gardens… it goes on and on. Definitely put it on the top of your list along with the stunning and bizarre Palazzo Te on the outskirts of the city—Guilio Romano had a hand in both projects.
Nathan Eddy — Google review
Honestly, I expected more from this palace, as a lot of people I know have always raved about it. The first part of the building is empty, with some dark paintings, therefore very ugly. The second part, however, is really very beautiful. About Camera degli Sposi, I thought it was more beautiful sincerely, but it's still nice to see it btw. However, what I didn't like at all is that you have to leave your umbrellas/things at the entrance, you have to put your backpack in front of you (literally no sense) and they are absolutely faithful to the time of entry. Too many people giving themselves importance in this museum...To then recover the things left at the entrance, you must exit completely and re-enter from where you entered. If it rains you literally get wet. Absolutely an awful management

Plan to come on a weekday because you can have the bridal chamber to yourself. We could tell that they were used to crowds but there was almost no one there at all. MUST SEE!! The Basilica di Sant'Andrea is a grand 12th-century church located outside the original city walls of Pistoia, Italy. Its fortified facade features a relief of the Journey and Adoration of the Magi by Gruamonte and Adeodato. Inside, visitors can admire an impressive marble pulpit carved by Giovanni Pisano in the late 13th century.

Soul soothing and fulfilling. A feast for the mind and eyes just being in here. I personally prefer visiting churches compared to the Museums or Art galleries - it is usually free of charge, a lot less people and I get to relish their beautiful and unprecedented work of art and architecture. Treasure all around and above - It is best done sitting on one of the long pews and simply look up. There are a staggering collection of beauty and religious significance here. "Do not judge a book by its cover" it is a place that is unassuming on the outside but absolutely phenomenal inside and dominates over the Piazza Mantegna. Here preserves the greatest relic of Christianity: the Sacred Vessels containing the blood of Christ.
Angelina De Castro — Google review

The Teatro Bibiena di Mantova, also known as the Teatro Scientifico, is an 18th-century neoclassical theater commissioned by Empress Maria Teresa of Austria. Designed by Antonio Galli Bibiena in late Baroque style with many columns and balconies, it is renowned for its bell shape and monochrome murals on the interior. Over time, it has attracted famous musicians who desired to perform in such a magnificent venue.
The marvel !!!! So unique ! Don’t miss. The architect created so many small private boxes given the theater a bell shape :). The boxes are also behind the stage. Mozart ( age 14) very first Italian performance!! A jewel not to missed !

The Rotonda di San Lorenzo is a Catholic church located in Mantua, Italy. This ancient place of worship was constructed in the 11th century and boasts Romanesque architecture. The church was commissioned by Matilda of Tuscany, who belonged to the Canossa family. It was built out of durable materials such as bricks and marble, and has stood the test of time for hundreds of generations.
Absolutely breathtaking piece - a must visit in Mantova. It has a special atmosphere, and the pictures don't really do it justice. Free entry. It's really small, so you only need like ten minutes to take it in properly.

Adjacent to the Clock Tower. Free entry. There are two floors : the upper floor is the women's gallery - the space reserved for women however when we were there, just the ground level is open for visiting. Originally it was completely frescoed, now only fragments remain. Faded fresco portraying the Martyrdom of Saint Lawrence. Amazing that a church with a thousand year history, was hidden at least for three centuries. 1906 - is the year the municipality of Mantua authorised the construction of a road that connects Piazza Erbe to Porto Catena. For this reason, the houses that were close to the the market square were demolished and this treasure was discovered.

Just opposite the Basilica di Sant'Andrea is a lovely little chapel called “Rotonda di San Lorenzo”. The most ancient church in the city (11th century), inspired by the Holy Sepulchre Church in Jerusalem and dedicated to St Lawrence. Completely round with beautiful Byzantine frescoes. You can feel the history as soon as you walk in the door and also a great way to escape from the heat for a few minutes. A card (in various languages) is available at the entrance explaining several features. Very well worth a few minutes of your time.

The Palace buildings are superb, and well worth a detour if you are near Mantova. The surviving internal decorations are unlike any ‘stately home’ I’ve visited. Magnificent.
Unfortunately our visit coincided with a huge school visit. The whole town was covered/invaded by groups of schoolchildren being ferried around by teachers in groups of twenty or so. There were hundreds of children, and it was impossible to visit the Palace without several of these groups at the same time. In fairness they were very well behaved, but inevitably, as any groups of teenagers are, they were noisy. The issue was the sheer numbers of them! If this is a fixture each early May -avoid not just the Palace but the whole of Mantova at this time.

The Cattedrale di San Pietro, located in Mantua, Lombardy, is a Roman Catholic church dedicated to Saint Peter. Constructed in the middle ages, it features a unique blend of architectural styles including Romanesque and Gothic elements. The current structure was built between 1395-1401 with additional side chapels added later on. Designed by Giulio Romano, the church boasts a Baroque facade and a stunning Gothic west front.

My main reason for visiting Mantua was chiefly because Giuseppe Sarto was bishop here (1884-1893) before becoming Pope St Pius X, in 1903. Alas, I was disappointed, since his cathedral church only has a very simple altar in his honour. Never the less, the Cathedral is still worth visiting. The current building is of the 11th century (built after the previous building burnt down and excavations show that this was a Christian religious site dating back to the early christians). The numerous modifications it has undergone take away any preset stylistic unity. Very much a mixed bag of Baroque, Romanesque and Gothic. However it is still an imposing building with an enormous amount of frescos. You could spend hours just examining them all. Several members of the Gonzaga family are buried here. Other historical artefacts can be found, with a 4th century sarcophagus being the oldest. The Blessed Sacrament chapel (to the left of the main altar) is also very beautiful and very peaceful.

Ome of the cosiest square I've seen in Italy. More intimate than the equivalent in Verona or Vicenza.

Lovely and historical place that tells us about the old Mantua
Piazza Virgiliana is a historical landmark that features a statue of the renowned Roman poet, Virgil. The picturesque site boasts fountains and a playground, making it an ideal location for hosting events and relaxing. During the Christmas market season, Piazza Virgiliana transforms from its usual beauty to an amazing sight. The fountain at this location continuously surprises visitors with its captivating shows.
It's a nice green oasis in the city center near the lake. Big statue at the lake end. Lots of places to sit and relax. Worth a visit.

A really nice square. I visited it during the Christmas markets and I don't think it's the best time to see it, as it is literally full of mud. I'm sure visiting in spring or summer is better, as it is more well-maintained than in winter

Nice chill park, close to both the historical centre and the beautiful lake area, with the dominant of the Virgil statue.

I was expecting a statue and it was quite an impressive monument - anyone who once studied Latin and the classics should visit. I felt a lot of nostalgia…

A beautiful, tranquil and clean place to sit and eat a sandwich. An oasis on a hot day.
Rigoletto's house, located at the end of Piazza Sordello in Mantua, is a 15th-century structure that holds historical significance as the residence of Rigoletto, the court jester of the Gonzaga family. This iconic building features a sculpture of Rigoletto by Aldo Falchi in its small internal courtyard.
Cute house for a quick photo shoot.

I came to Mantua in the footsteps of Pope Saint Pius X (who was bishop here) but enjoyed visiting other attractions. Many know of Mantua after Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, but few remember it is also the town of Verdi’s Rogoletto! Rigoletto’s House is now the local tourist office, but well worth a short visit while you are in Mantua. At the entrance is a nice little walled garden with the statue of Rigoletto himself to welcome you.

The house where Verdi's Rigoletto is set. You can find a statue of Rigoletto in the garden!

Aesthetically appealing, well preserved and a place to visit by all means if you are in Mantua.👍👍👍
The National Archaeological Museum in Mantua is a treasure trove of artifacts from various historical periods, including Neolithic, Bronze Age, Etruscan, Venetian, Celtic, Roman, Longobard, Goth, Medieval and Renaissance eras. Housed within the Palazzo Ducale in Mantua's former theater of Corte dei Gonzaga since 1896 and later transformed into an archaeological museum to showcase numerous excavated finds from the province of Mantua.
The ticket price of the museum is together with Palazzo Ducale, 9 Euro. And is totally worth it ! The museum is small but has a lot of interesting things, but the palace is endless, so many things to see, a must visit. Ragazza in biglieteria molto gentile !

There’s four museums in this gallery we only went to one quite interesting not air-conditioned €16 per person kind of pricey in my opinion we went with a guide luckily because if not, we went up and walking around, not knowing where we were really going Definitely worth a stop.

Newly renovated but there will also be a second and a third floor in the future. Not too many exhibits, but interesting enough. The introductions are informative and professional enough, the only thing confusing is the order of the texts and the item boxes don't always match.

It takes 1-2 hours to travel from Neolithic to Langobardian times. All items in this beautiful museum were discovered and excavated around Mantua. The highlight is the Lovers of Valdaro, a couple which was buried around 5000 years ago. We had to cry.

We were there for around 30 minutes. Wheelchair-friendly and interesting exhibits.

For some reason only the first and third floor displays were translated into English. We figured most of it out with Google translate but still...
