The stunning Gloucester Cathedral is a medieval gem that dates back to the 12th century. It is steeped in history, and features some of the finest Norman Romanesque and Gothic design in England. It is a favorite tourist destination, and features the largest window in Europe, overlooking the tomb of King Edward II.
What a beautiful cathedral! Went there for some short sightseeing after a full day of work meetings in Gloucester and was not disappointed! The cloisters are dreamy, as well as the main body of the cathedral. Stained glass is impressive, and the architectural details too! Fully recommended for a Harry Potter-themed visit!

Absolutely beautiful!! I love the cathedral, both in and out. Even managed to get up to the top today to enjoy some magnificent views! The tour was very informative. The highlight was getting to be stood right next to the bells as they rang!

There is so much to see here if you are interested in old buildings.
There are loads of beautiful stained glass windows and the architecture is stunning.
Every where you look you see something that makes you truly appreciate the skills involved in making this building.
What I really like is that they have really committed to being accessible for disabled people with ramps or lifts to get wheelchairs and mobility spaces to most of the places on the lower levels. This is definitely the most accessible Cathedral we have been to.

This is by far one of my favourite cathedrals of all time! It is so beautiful and the architecture is amazing! It has the Harry Potter hall which is fun to take pictures in. Every time that I have been here, there haven't been too many people. If you get the chance to take the tours to the tower or the crypt, I would defiantly do that! The view from the top of the tower was amazing! I also loved the stops on the way up there. Seeing the bells and then getting to be in the room when the largest one rang. The crypt was really cool, a few movies were filmed down there! If you get the chance, I recommend going to the Gloucester Cathedral.

We made a special trip to Gloucester on a Sunday specifically to visit the cathedral.
Ensure you know the visitation times.
We expected to wait after Sunday morning service but even later on the day we were being asked to visit after 4 pm.
I'm incredibly glad we did not give up!
Spending over an hour at Gloucester Cathedral was an awe-inspiring experience. The magnificent architecture, with its soaring ceilings, intricate marble work, and stunning stained glass windows, left me utterly captivated. The cathedral's beauty and historical significance make it an absolute must-see for any visitor to Gloucester (not just Harry Potter fans).
It is truly breathtaking interior with fascinating history, and peaceful atmosphere.
There are informative displays and few (clearly knowledgeable) guides who were happy to answer questions.
£5 voluntary donation per person is more than fair, as it helps maintain this architectural gem. The cathedral's inclusive approach, allowing visitors to explore without a mandatory fee, is commendable.
Gloucester Cathedral with awe-inspiring beauty and welcoming atmosphere make it a true gem in the heart of Gloucester.

Wow, what a stunning cathedral. Beautiful stain glass windows and details to the building. We found some areas where Harry Potter was filmed too. They had some fun activities on the upper level which would be fun for adults and children. Well worth a visit.

Cathedral was beautiful and all staff we spoke to were friendly and informative. We were allowed to leave our pushchair with a staff member while accessing the Whispering Gallery and interactive pieces. Lots of things were clearly labelled with the history or back story. We didn't take a tour as we were short of time but they were frequent and seemed really good so will do that next time.

Impressive architecture and history.
The Tower tour is highly recommended if you like views from high places and don’t mind narrow spiral staircases and a few hundred steps :)
The cloisters were also used for Hogwarts in a number of the Harry Potter movies.

Absolutely spectacular! It's free, donations are voluntary. So much to see inside, and I believe the passages around the cloister were in the Harry Potter film. Well worth the visit! The rest of the town was pretty modern and run of the mill, except for a couple of pretty streets.

Such an incredible cathedral with a calming aura. I visited during the day and paid the optional £5 fee and also at night for the light and sound show which was spectacular.
Definitely one of my favourite spots in the very charming city of Gloucester!

We went to the Light Eternal last Sunday 22/10/23. Would recommend. Very quick queuing time. You are not rushed to walk around and take photos and videos. Very relaxing I found it. This would be great to take children with sensory needs too. Get there while you can. I also lit a candle with a donation in memory to my late mum who would have loved this ❤️

a very beautiful medieval cathedral, said to be the resting place of King Edward II. Also of harry potter fame. Very quiet for silent retreat. There is a small entrance to second floor to take in the sights.

Beautiful place. Love it here. The reason why we like to come to Gloucester. Great place to take photos. If you are lucky enough to come when choirs are rehearsing you will be in for a treat. Fab acoustics. Interesting whispering gallery worth exploring upstairs. Clever idea.

Incredible feat of engineering. As soon as you walk in the grounds the scale of the building impresses. Inside the vaulted ceiling and stone work are a marvel. We went for the tower tour and were not disappointed.
The tour guides were knowledgeable, informative and interesting, the climb up the various stair cases as they got narrower was enhanced by hundreds of years of graffiti and views across gloucester. Each level gave an interesting history and informative layer to the history of the cathedral. Highly recommended just to visit but go for the tour if you can.

A majestic architectural landmark in Gloucester. Absolutely amazing! Lots of information boards about the history and stories of Gloucester Cathedral that I found quite interesting. Architectural details, large stained glasses in different periods of time, lovely gardens and nice cafe. Definitely don’t want to miss it if you are in the area.

During my recent visit to Gloucester Cathedral, I was thoroughly delighted by the experience. I specifically chose to go on a Sunday afternoon, and to my pleasant surprise, the cathedral was open for visitors and not crowded at all. This allowed me to explore the cathedral at my own pace and fully immerse myself in its ambiance.
One of the highlights of my visit was the opportunity to take a leisurely walk around the magnificent hallways and great halls of the cathedral. The architecture was truly breathtaking, with intricate details and craftsmanship that showcased the rich history and cultural significance of the cathedral.
As I strolled through the various areas, I noticed several informative boards strategically placed, providing comprehensive historical information. These boards not only enhanced my understanding of the cathedral's architectural marvels but also gave me insights into the stories and events that shaped its past.
I was pleasantly surprised when the cathedral staff informed us about the optional voluntary donation. This gesture is particularly commendable as it allows large families, such as mine, to visit and appreciate the cathedral without feeling financially burdened. This inclusive approach made the visit even more enjoyable, and it further solidified my positive impression of Gloucester Cathedral.
In summary, my visit to Gloucester Cathedral was an absolute delight. From the stunning hallways to the informative displays and considerate voluntary donation policy, every aspect of my experience was truly memorable. I would highly recommend this cathedral to anyone seeking a captivating historical and architectural journey.

Magnificent building! The architecture is beautiful. It's free to visit with an optional donation. There is also a small gift shop as well as cafe and a beautiful outside area. The hallways and great halls of the cathedral were actually film sets for the Harry Potter films so if you're a fan, definitely worth a visit!

What a beautiful cathedral. The cloisters were quite stunning to walk around. Out seems about the same size as Canterbury but less crowded. Didn't have time to see the whole place. Would definition recommend if you are in the area.

A lovely place to visit, lots of history. With plenty of exploring to be had.Plenty around outside too. Entry by donation, £5 is a good start. Find the wall Harry Potter walked through. 👍

A wonderfully beautiful place to visit.
I was drawn here in January 2023, as it was a Harry Potter and Doctor Who filming location, and because I heard it had a beautiful interior, but the visit surpassed my expectations.
You could go up to a higher floor inside the building and look down to see the intricate detail/stonework from above. Here you also learnt a lot about the masonry, restoration and structure of the building.
You find yourself looking upwards to see the exquisite sculptured ceiling, and downwards to the colourful tiled floors. The stained glass windows range from old to new. The interior and exterior of the building is stunning. People are quiet, respectful and at peace here. There are plenty of information boards around to tell you of the interesting history of the building, and the volunteer workers there are so kind and helpful.
It's free entry, but we gave a donation. The upkeep of the building must be huge, it would be sad to see it ever go into disrepair so I was happy to pay to visit this amazing place.

Can’t believe this place is free. I visited because this is where they filmed a lot of Harry Potter scenes. I am a huge fan and wanted to see it. I wasn’t disappointed! It’s like stepping into Hogwarts. The cathedral is absolutely gorgeous. You can wander around as you please. There are some toilets inside too which is practical. The best place to visit in Gloucester!

The cathedral itself is magnificent! We arrived late in the afternoon. So the lighting was beautiful. It's a great place to check out the cloisters for the filming of Harry Potter.
The area around the church leaves a lot to be desired. So it's not some place I'd recommend to stay. But the church is definitely worth a stop if traveling through.

Stepping into Gloucester Cathedral during the festive season is like entering a realm of enchantment and Harry Potter wonders. The cathedral's grandeur, coupled with the added touch of Christmas charm and magical delights, creates an experience that captivates both young and old.
The soaring arches and intricate stained glass windows are illuminated with warm, festive hues, evoking a sense of awe and wonder. The cathedral's architecture, reminiscent of Hogwarts, sets the stage for a truly magical experience.
During my visit, the cathedral cleverly incorporated Harry Potter-themed decorations that seamlessly blended with the existing charm. From magical Christmas trees, every corner held a delightful surprise.
The atmosphere was filled with the sounds of festive carols enhancing the overall magical ambiance. It's evident that the cathedral staff put thought and creativity into transforming this historical site into a winter wonderland with a touch of wizardry.
Gloucester Cathedral, with its Christmas charm and Harry Potter delights, is a must-visit destination for those seeking a blend of tradition and fantasy. It's a magical journey that transports visitors into a world where the spirit religion meets the enchantment of Hogwarts.

What a truly amazing structure and absolutely worth a visit. With Santa due overhead in a few days it was festive, not over done but enough to remind us. King Edward laid here after being murdered at Berkeley castle, by his wife so this cathedral is unique, also the cloisters were the location of Harry Potter filming, something for everyone. Parking 🅿️ as with most cities, close and lots of choice but available like peak times depict. Toilets, cafe, shop, magnificent windows statues and a whispering gallery, low entrance fee but we donated additional, this is well worth the time and effort to visit and we will continue to go there regularly
The Museum of Gloucester is a family-friendly institution showcasing a diverse range of exhibits, from ancient Roman ruins to artwork and dinosaur fossils. With treasures dating back to Roman times, including the oldest complete backgammon set in the world, visitors can delve into the rich history of Gloucester. The museum also houses an impressive collection of paintings by renowned artists such as Wilson and Gainsborough.
Smallish but packed with mostly locally discovered artifacts. Some really stand out world class antiquities. Free entry but accept donations. Friendly and helpful staff, spotless bathroom facilities and a shop and tea room. I spend a very very enjoyable hour and a half and will definitely visit again.

It's a quaint local museum which is well-maintained and contains quite an interesting array of artifacts. There are exhibitions ranging from natural history items (such as dinosaur teeth and claws) found on the landmass of present-day Gloucester, as well as man-made items from various historical periods. Staff were polite here, and the location of the museum is ideal. I saw people of all ages having fun, and the entire environment is very family-friendly.

I visited this museum during my visit to Gloucester. It was the first week of reopening and unfortunately the upstairs was closed. I was a bit disappointed! I visited the downstairs part which is about the prehistoric, medieval and Roman era of the city. It is interesting but mostly made for kids. I won’t complain as the entry is free but I wished the upstairs was open too.

We had a fantastic few hours here with loads for my 4 year old to do. He loved some of the interactive parts - looking for night time animals, building towers, playing in the Roman kitchen, dinosaurs, old games area, duplo, and especially puppet theatre! There were so many activities for kids and I hadn't expected it to be so child friendly.
We spent 5 hours there and my son learnt a little about the area we live in.
The baby change toilet was clean and had everything I needed. I found it easy to change my newborn there.
The cafe has a decent selection of drinks, but we were disappointed by the lack of cake selection. My 4 year old had a kids lunchbox which was a full 2 slice of bread ham sandwich, a packet of crisps and glass of milk. At £5.50 I thought it was a little expensive but we only paid a donation to get in, so it's not an expensive day out.
Overall, we had a lovely time and would definitely recommend and visit again!

Fascinating museum full of the history of Gloucester and surrounding areas. From the time of prehistoric times up to modern. If you are able, take a tour or two, underneath the city to the time of the Romans and medieval times. It’s amazing what you walk over every day that predates our times, without even realising. The guide is fabulous, really knowledgeable and takes the time to explain the history and answer questions.

A lovely local museum. It is free to enter and view all the local history. It is very well curated, taking you from the Jurassic period, when Gloucester was under water, through the Roman and medieval periods up to the modern day city. They also have exhibitions for which there is a £4.95 charge. There was plenty to see for free - though it would be worth paying if you didn't remember life in the 80s too well. There is a self service cafe and a small museum shop.
Judy Holyer — Google review
I've been coming here, on and off, all my life and it never ceases to entertain and educate on each visit.
The exhibits cover the history going back to prehistoric times. The modern era tends to be represented in the ever changing exhibitions on the first floor.
Highlights (for me at least) are world's oldest complete backgammon set and the amazing Celtic Bronze mirror. I do wish that the mirror was displayed better as it's set up high and not in the best light.
The staff do an amazing job with information and explanations. Get a guided tour if you can. Definitely call ahead to find out when there are tours of the underground Roman remains and views of the workshops.

This museum is spectacular they always have some kind of attraction. I went when they had an exhibit for famous robots from various movies and television shows. Bring the kids and bring the family everyone will have a blast. They even do tours of the underground roman ruins with a guide who dresses up as one of the roman soldiers. I'm looking forward to seeing the new dinosaurs exhibit in a few days!
The National Waterways Museum Gloucester is a museum dedicated to waterways history in the city of Gloucester. The museum has exhibits on narrowboats, barges, tugs and a replica lock chamber. It is perfect for families wanting to enjoy some fresh air together and for those interested in British waterway history.
Pay the extra for the boat trip, you won't be disappointed! Friendly team working there. Some good exhibits; we especially liked watching the talking-head videos/interviews with gentlemen that had worked the canals. Good price cafe just inside the entrance with seating inside and out. We went as a couple (no kids with us) and would recommend to anyone spending some time in Gloucester.

Excellent value but only for repeat visits. Great Café.
Everything is well preserved and presented though there’s no sense of continuity or narrative to everything as a whole. I also found the layout sightly confusing and, on first visit, didn’t realise there was an upstairs.
The many exhibits keep the attention of adults whereas the hands on stuff is very much for kids. The museum is fairly small so try and visit in half term to avoid school groups.
The entrance fee is expensive for a single visit but includes repeat visits for a year. If the visit is a 'one off’ then get your money’s worth by buttonholing a volunteer to explain things. They know a lot that more than is on the display cards.
All the staff are a great bunch and willing to help and offer information.
The café serves reasonably priced food and drinks. The tea is good and cakes taste homemade (in a good way). If it’s not too sunny or crowded, sit in the area by the big window.
There’s a small car park nearby (Southgate Moorings - Gloucester Docks), just off the main road, which fills quickly every day. The Quays shopping centre (5 minutes walk away) has a large multi story attached to it.

Great day out and good value even in this time of watching every penny. The Boat trip was wonderful and well informed regarding its history as a Little Ship at Dunkirk. Good place for children and pets. Although anyone with a wheelchair might be an issue getting on board the boat.
A new exhibition of the civilian Captain of the boat has just been put on display and the family was visiting the day we attended.

A major disappointment. Really overpriced for the meager collection on two floors. Primarily aimed at kids with a few historic curios & video displays with a few animated steam engine displays.
They have 3 disabled parking bays. But they are very difficult to find & the local security guy tried to stop us ever reaching them.
Friendly staff & there is a boat ride (when it's running). The docks & buildings are far more interesting. I'd just walk around them for an hour & take pictures. Obviously a superb place once. You can also see a massive dredger outside.

Gloucester Rugby is an English rugby team that was established in 1873. It has a unique status among other clubs due to its community projects and fans' merchandise store. The club plays at the Kingsholm Stadium, which has old school ground terracing and seats. There are numerous food and drink options available, although they can be expensive. The stadium also has a smoking area that opens after the game has started.

Great day out, parking and exit back to the motorway was brilliant.
Inside the stadium. The atmosphere was superb, and on field it was a great game which we enjoyed very much.
My only negative was the group of children sitting next to us aged around 8 to 11. Constantly in and out and standing up and running about, with 3 dad's out for a boozy day.
I know you can not choose who buys the seat next to you but it took the shine off the day for us and the people behind them

The stadium is not large for a Premiership ground and the pitch is smaller than some, which gives a unique atmosphere.
The atmosphere comment is particularly true of the Shed; the standing area. The Shed tends to be packed with local former players. It is noisy partisan and great fun.
The bars and fast food are fast enough, but last time I went the queue for ice cream was a bit long.
Saw the women play. They were very good.

The Soldiers of Gloucestershire Museum provides an insight into the lives of soldiers and servicemen from Gloucestershire over the last 300 years. With exhibits on subjects such as First World War trenches to desert warfare, this museum is a great way to learn about the history of Gloucester and its military.
A real gem. Tucked away on the quiet side of the Quays is this museum dedicated the Gloucestershire Regiment and their activities.
A lot of detail is packed into a very small space so it's worth budgeting at least an hour to go round an soak up the exhibits.
The feel of what it was like to be in a WW1 trench was particularly emotive.
Kids get an opportunity to dress up in military uniforms too.

Great place to visit.
The Soldiers of Gloucestershire Museum is located in Gloucester’s Historic Docks. We reopened in April 2014 after a significant Heritage Lottery funded refurbishment. Come and discover the lives of Gloucestershire soldiers from the last 300 years. Try on Army uniforms, look into a First World War trench, learn about medals and how soldiers won them through history with our interactive displays. Do you know how the Gloucestershire Regiment won the Back Badge? See how the Royal Gloucestershire Hussars survived fighting in the desert? Have you felt how heavy a Rifleman’s rucksack is? With changing exhibitions and our Soldiers of the Month display, there is always something new to see. There is plenty for the whole family to do, children's games, uniforms to try on plus a free quiz. Our story begins in 1694, travels through the Napoleonic Wars, the Age of Empire, Worlds Wars, Korea and right up to modern day conflicts. Come and discover the stories of twelve generations of Gloucestershire soldiers.

Fantastic day out, so much to see and do. If you love art of many types, from sculpture to paintings, photography, textiles, glass clay, and more this is the place. Not overly expensive, cafe and toilet on site, plenty of parking

Gallery dealing with the natural world in art. Good selection and variety of animal and avian subjects. Particularly liked the large pencil Otter drawing and the Cheetah.
A pleasant wander around the garden featuring animal sculptures made from reclaimed metals.
Cafe was fine, if small.
Overall, a good hour or so well enjoyed, just slightly disappointed that photography was not permitted indoors.

A delightful experience. A great variety of pictures and interesting sculptures in the gaden. Thoroughly enjoyed the Thelwell exhibition and the watching and talking to the artist in residence Simon, revealed the skill of the artists.

Excellent however, quite a small art exhibition but really lovely pieces of work and well worth a visit. Whilst we were there they had Nicholas Jones's Artic Visions exhibition which is quite frankly stunning. The staff are all extremely helpful and welcoming and it's the same in the café with very tasty food too. We will be back in better weather so we might enjoy the art garden too.

Great museum. Very friendly staff. Easy to park. Went to see the Bird Photographer of the year exhibition which was well curated. Stunning sculptures in the grounds.

Visited on a lovely warm autumn day. This museum is a real gem. The gardens and café are free to enter, and there is plenty of free parking. There is a small charge for entry to the galleries inside the fabulous 18th century house. The garden exhibited many intriguing sculptures. The food in the café was excellent, and all the staff in house and café were very friendly and helpful. We had only half a day and not enough time to see all the museum had to offer. Try to have a full day to get the best, or return another day. Altogether a delightful morning out.

Lovely visit, with some amazing sculptures.
The art and photography collection is beautiful.
My only downside was that a few of the garden sculptures are overgrown, and not entirely sure why or what they are meant to be.
Other than that, a fantastic visit.

Good exhibits, but I could only visit because people helped me to get in and out of the place. (I'm a walking disabled person with poor mobility. There's a ramp to go into the building, for instance, but no handrails by the ramp. Or else there are a couple of shallow steps to negotiate.

My boyfriend brought me here after he went as a child, and I enjoyed the visit, some beautiful artwork on display in a beautiful building. The gardens were also very lovely and we enjoyed lunch and a drink in the sun.

It is a small local art gallery displaying drawing, paintings, furniture, decoration, art piece, etc, inspired by nature. There is a wildlife photographer exhibition running now which brings me to this gallery.
There is small beautiful outdoor garden too. Unfortunately that I am on rush to leave and not able to take a look.
Please note that you are not able to find this place by using the official postal code but require to drive 3 mins further from the given postal code. I believe the gallery is aware of this, and it seems that they will do something to give clearer signage on this.
The Docks, also known as a harbor or port, is an area along the water's edge where ships and boats can dock to load and unload cargo or passengers. It is typically equipped with cranes, warehouses, storage facilities, and transportation infrastructure to facilitate the movement of goods from one place to another. The docks play a vital role in international trade by serving as gateways for imports and exports between countries. They are also important hubs for fishing activities, recreation, and tourism.
Gloucester Docks is a popular shopping mall located in Gloucester, England. It has high-street and designer brands available at discounted prices, making it a great spot for shoppers of all ages. The mall also features the Gloucester Tall Ships festival, which attracts tall ships from all over the world to come gather in May. Around the Docks are also the National Waterways Museum and The Soldiers of Gloucester Museum.
Good outlets and well looked after. Clean and easy to access. Parking is right next door. Only issue is that the outlets open at 10am. Seems a bit strange.

Last visited the Quays about 20 years ago and what a lovely surprise to see how it has been developed since then. Plenty to do around there for a day, shopping and eating places in abundance! Very pleasant place to wander around in the autumn sunshine.

Nice atmosphere, easy parking with more than enough, Christmas market just outside the main shopping centre and plenty of people around for it not to feel dull and tired. Only giving it a 4/5 in comparison to London based shopping centres. Nice day out with lots of dining and cafe options .....

I've not been to Gloucester for some years so this was a real surprise when we came. A nice layout with plenty of varied stores. Clean toilets. Some fun and nice features.
Nice wide areas to walk along also with plenty to look at. A little constructed at spots where they've put stands in the middle of the walkways selling things but that's fine when it's not super busy. A really nice spot to visit.
Rhys Davis — Google review
Luxury shopping centre (has very attractive marble flooring) with a fairly large range of shops and restaurants.
It's situated next to the Gloucester Docks so forms a complete section of Gloucester south of the main city centre. A good tourist environment can be found here within easy walking distance.
For locals it has become a destination for people to enjoy time together, eat, chat, shop and dine. The M&S outlet store provides value for money. The Cornish Bakery sells delicious Cornish Pasties which are normally reduced at 6pm.
Parking and access to shopping centre is straight-forward.
Events are often held in the streets and square such as food fairs, retro weekend and tall ships festival (which is due to be held next in 2024).
Another point of interest is found by the main dock basin. Here the work of Nielsen boat maintenance company is carried out. There's normally about 7 or 8 boats being worked on, some quite large, some with masts. You can wonder walkways by these boats and read the boards detailing the background to each job.

Worth to visit for shopping. Most of companies outlets there. Mean same quality at low prices. Good price, better quality n value. Staff is ok but at the end ur getting great stuff at low prices if u compared it with London, believe me 😳.

Good selection of shops with something for everyone. Very disabled friendly with plenty of blue badge spaces and easy access throughout, along with helpful staff on hand to answer any questions.
The first four hours parking is free for disabled, just validate your ticket at customer service in the main mall.
Well worth a visit.

The quay itself is lovely to walk around, have a relaxed coffee and generally enjoy the views and atmosphere. Gloucester Quays is a delightful shopping destination that seamlessly blends retail therapy with a picturesque waterfront setting.
During our Sunday visit, I was impressed by the well-maintained indoor shopping area, conveniently located near the historic docks.
The outlet offers a diverse range of stores, making it easy to find great deals and discounts. The relatively quiet atmosphere on Sunday allowed for a pleasant shopping experience, with attentive staff readily available to assist.
I managed to snag quite a few bargains during my 2-hour shopping spree, plus enjoyed a relaxing hour at one of inviting coffee shops inside the centre.
The Quays also boast a good selection of restaurants and a large cinema, providing plenty of options for a day out (do visit the reregenerated docks).
Compared to other outlets we frequent (Bicester, Gunwarf Quays, Chashire Oaks) it is small but that actually makes it more manageble for a mix of retail, dining, and leisure activities in an attractive waterfront setting.

Great place to visit we will go back in summer , lots of places to eat and lots of history it was once a bustling inshore port connected to the canal and the river Severn, the historic warehouse fronts are still intact , although most have been converted to apartments plus it is the home of the national waterways museum which is unfortunately shut on a Sunday which is when we visited also you can hire boats in the summer . Well worth a visit plus there is a wetherspoons pub on the Quay .
Quite busy on the Quay but a really nice atmosphere walking around and soaking up the history.

My husband and I was visiting Gloucester for a one night stay cay and had planned to do some wandering. We happened across Gloucester Quay and was thrown by the array of stores. We have a similar designer outlet in Bridgend, Wales but Gloucester Quay was definitely better. The inside shopping centre was spotless and fairly easy to find and navigate and the sales, discounts and loyalty offerings were incredible. 75% off items in some stores!
Worth visiting if you are in the area to grab yourself a bargain

Fairly small & cramped Tourist Information Centre, not stocking that many local brochures or leaflets, detailing the surrounding areas!
This is not helped by the staff being too busy talking to each other, and a further employee, more concerned talking to the owner of two dogs & asking too many questions about their breeding, when she should of been assisting me, before I got fed up & walked out!
As a stranger to the area, I needed help, which I certainly didn't get by any of the staff members, and isn't that what they are paid to do, help the Tourists?

Robinswood Hill Country Park is a large, well-maintained country park with walking trails and beautiful views. It's a great place to walk, picnic, and see wildlife.
My 11 year old, 3 year old and I had a fantastic walk here recently. It was great fun and we very much enjoyed a vegan sausage roll and cake in the cafe afterwards!
The views from the beacon are fantastic, but even if you don’t make it that far, the scenery at the bottom of the hill is beautiful too.
There are leaflets available from the Visitor’s Centre (Wildlife Trust) mapping several way marked walking trails across the site.

I've lived in Gloucester for many years but never visited Robinswood Hill until just the other day.
It was much better than I expected! Also much steeper than I thought.
Lovely view of Gloucestershire from the highest point. Unfortunately the beacon was broken, hopefully it gets fixes soon.
I enjoyed the sculpture trail which had wonderful wood work and history of the area. I liked being able to scan with my phone to find out more information.
I saw quite a few rabbits running around and got to see the cows! So that's a plus a nature lover.
It was quite muddy there and could do with handrails of some sort for support, especially when coming down.

Excellent place for a walk through the nature. Well maintained with kids playground, Dog-friendliness and a picnic like area. Only thing to keep in mind is the timings we thought it’s till 20:00 pm as for few years back but it’s sharp 17:00 guys. Especially, if you have parked you vehicle inside the gates (Small Awareness) it will be locked inside..!!

Lovely walks. Always manage to find something we've not seen before even though we've been loads of times. Lovely cafe. Toilets. Not really buggy or wheelchair friendly if walking up the hill but some flatter walks round the bottom of the hill.

It's a great place for walks and the only park I've seen so far allowing public BBQs. It's not an easy climb up and down closer to the Robinswood Beacon. You can still see the left over of the wooden post of the beacon built to celebrate Queen's golden jubilee, which came down in the storm Bella. We were so lucky to see some mountain goats roaming up over the sloaps of an old quarry.

Great walk, quite steep in some places so probably not good for a rainy day! Views really cool over Glouchester and out to the Severn estuary. It was interesting to read that the free-roaming cattle are guided by a collar for where to eat!
Signs are a bit patchy so sometimes hard to know where you are. Missed the quarry unfortunately!
Cafe was lovely, the staff were so friendly and the selection was great.

Prinknash Bird & Deer Park is a charming location for a day trip and picnic, with plenty of opportunities to interact with birds, deer, and peacocks - including rare white variants. However, the cleanliness of the pond leaves something to be desired, as stagnant water can produce unpleasant odors. The staff are welcoming and the scenery is lovely, though some visitors may consider the entrance fees slightly high. All in all, this spot comes highly recommended for families seeking an enjoyable outing.
We went on a Sunday, it was cheap and it was sunny! And it was all in all a lovely afternoon out! Was nice to get out in the sunshine. Receptionist was very friendly and helpful too!
Just a heads up, you'll want to buy more than 1 bag of bird food per person, and if you have 20p's bring them for the machines to feed the deer inside the park!

Take a picnic and plenty of 20pences to feed the animals. Not huge but theres a lovely cafe, woodland walks and animals who are very tame. Once you're finished there take a stroll up the hill to the monk's home and spend a quiet moment in the small chapel reflecting on the day......

Have been a few times . Have always enjoyed. Great for children of all ages 2 to 92.
If I've enjoyed it more, it's been in spring or summer. Was slightly disappointed on my last winter visit because of the lack of Chinese Pheasants, but my 2yr old granddaughter, the reason we went, loved it.
She took great pleasure feeding :- the geese, ducks, pigeons, swans, chickens, ETC ETC and don't forget the peacocks, and the deer, goats , fish ETC.
Great addition is the ticket office /visitor centre / cafe / shop. Lovely end to the visit, having a hot chocolate and watching other families walking around.

Beautiful place for a picnic and day-out. Kids would enjoy the whole experience of bird feeding , deers. Peacocks in this place are an absolite delight...perhaps one of the few places that have white peacocks and peahens as well. The place could be a lot cleaner though..especially the pond. Its got a lot of stagnant water that was smelling at a point. That was the only put-off! Staff is friendly..setting is beautiful..some may find the tickets a bit expensive! Overall..i would recommend for a day visit with family.

If you're a fan of being up and close with animals, birds in particular; then this is the place for you. I spent the afternoon feeding all different types of birds and waterfowl, along with a group of very friendly deer. MeiFang (MeiFang) — Google review
Lovely family attraction with many different breeds of birds to look at and enjoy, along with deer. Some areas of the park are a little run down, some of the paths for example. I'd avoid in busier times too as you want the birds and the deer to be wanting the food and the space to interact with them which wouldn't be possible if it's busy and noisy, or they've already had a lot to eat. It has a pretty cafe to enjoy at the bird park, and another up at the abbey car park.

This is a small farm shop located in Gloucester. They have a wonderful selection of fresh, locally grown fruit and vegetables as well as meat products. They also have their own bakery which makes delicious pastries and breads. In addition to selling food items, the farm shop also offers Click & Collect service so that customers do not have to come into the store if they do not want to.
Been here a few times now twice for Halloween and once at Christmas time. Staff are always very welcoming, the children love seeing the animals and having a good walk around the ground. Christmas event toasting marshmallows was thought out with great care and attention. They provide very very long skewers (nearly a meter I'd say) so that children can hold them safely at arms length while still being a good distance from the fire pit and the hot chocolate is devine! 100% will be coming back next year. Thank you also to the owner who took the time to talk with our children about the wildlife she routinely sees whilst working, such as the different types of birds. This really captivated my 7 year old who now even a few days later is still talking about the nice lady from the farm. 👍

We do like the farm park and usually go for their events in half term. You can see the effort that goes into it and I have had no complaints in the past. For this reason, I have given a 5 star rating, but i wanted to give some feedback on our visit this weekend. We went with our family and we were all a little disappointed with a few things.
The animal feed bags were only a quarter of the way full, one literally had one handful of food. It all fit easily into one bag so we paid £3 for one bag of food to feed their own animals! I can only assume they need to be fed less and if that's the case you should be charged less for the animal feed on those occasions.
9 of us went and we all booked online per family. You save by booking online but the booking fee nearly balances this out. If we go in a large group again, we would do one booking so you benefit from the saving being advertised.
Whilst on the subject of advertising. When we all booked our session, it was showing as low availability. We all commented how empty the park and car park was and the park was not busy the whole time we were there.
The big bouncing pillow was out of order.
The quads/tractor rides were not running regularly. My daughter asked to go on the quads at 12.30 and the next one was not running until 2. I totally appreciate its a quieter period so they would not run regularly but the price should reflect this.
On this occasion we were disappointed with what was on offer for the price paid. We were there for 3 hours. I paid £17 for my 4 Yr old and myself (baby was free) grandparents paid £17 and BIL & SIL and their two kids was £30. (This includes animal feed and booking fees) that's £64!
Minus the tractor ride/quads, today was comparable to a couple of hours at pitville Park.
P.s. it would be nice for the potaloo's to get an upgrade. If not a permanent fixture then a luxury portaloo would be better.

I took my four children to the pumpkins in the dark experience. It was £6 per person and for that price I would have thought the pumpkin they picked would have been included in the price. An incredible farm shop! I love a gander round the odd deli or bakery when we pass one, but the over farm shop has it all - a cafe, a HUGE selection foodie gifts, the sauces, drinks, pantry staples, the lot, it’s got a cafe (whole load of syrups for your drinks btw) and a bakery, a cheese monger, the list goes on. If you’re passing by, just stop in, the selection of fresh fruit and veg is worth it, but when you come across the chocolate and pastries too, you simply can’t say no!

Our two year old loved meeting the animals, came off the tractor ride beaming and refused to leave the playground when it was time to go home. The entertainer was also first class, he kept kids of all ages and the adults attention which is some skill!
Popped into the farm shop afterwards and picked up some lovely produce.
Cannot rate highly enough. We'll be coming back for sure.

I was rather disappointed by the Easter Eqgstraveganza, and the farm park overall. there were hardly any animals out, very few you could touch, and some of the enclosures were empty. My sister has a better selection of chickens at home. I expect some sort of petting area for small animals as I've seen at other farm parks, but there was nothing. There was not a lot to do for toddlers, the magician was terrible and was barely intelligible over the speaker system. And I thought it was overpriced for what little there was.
The food was minimal at best.

I just came back from the Pick Your Own Pumpkins in the dark and absolutely loved it. I couldn't recommend it anymore. Every member of staff we spoke to were friendly and helpful. There were tonnes and tonnes of pumpkins so you don't have to worry about the farm not having any. Decorations were amazing. Food stands were brill. Atmosphere was amazing. Yes it was muddy but... It's autumn turning winter, what do you expect? Just bring a good pair of wellies. Obviously if you can get something you cheaper you could and you would but it's a business and with how things are going with farms, they have to find a way to make money so I have no issue with the cost and was happy knowing I was supporting a local business. Kid friendly but also great for grown ups. As 2 visiting 20 something year olds, this was a perfect way to liven up a Thursday night :)

Had breakfast here, with coffe and orange juice. IT WAS OUTSTANDING. Generous potions, the coffee was amazing and the fresh orange juice was really good.

Great place for the kids. Cafe undercover is a god send. Lots of room and enough to do for the little ones. Animals are cool, Fudge the goat is a bit of a lad.
Barnwood Park and Arboretum is a large, well maintained garden with formal gardens and walking paths. There is also a pond and a grazing farm where you can see animals such as cows, goats, sheep, horses and chickens. The park is in the city center so it's easy to get to.
Gorgeous! We would definitely visit again. My son was particularly taken with the small bridges on the pond, the butterfly ‘wild’ areas and the (three) Dexter Cattle 🐄 😂.
They seem to have a bit of a rat problem at the moment. Although , once again, my son was very happy to watch the rats dart from bush to bush from a distance.

Well thought area for all ages (and dogs).
The old remnants of the Barnwood House estate have been transformed into a well managed public space.
You can walk the entire park and arboretum in about half an hour but ignore it’s size as it’s more a place to dawdle and take in the variety of the plants and features. The beautifully carved benches are fascinating too. Try and find the piano.
The ducks (actually Northern Mallards) are regular visitors to Wotton Brook that flows through here. Look out for the Coots (white beaks) and Moor Hens (red beaks) too.
The recent addition of a deliberately constructed balancing pond adds to the charm of the area. That part of the park is a real sun trap with no cooling breeze. Being low ground it also requires wellies when wet.
The old estate chapel, now deconsecrated, houses a gym so unfortunately the interior can’t be viewed but the outside is in good nick and quite photogenic.
Parking can be a challenge as the gym members use the spaces adjacent to the park in Church Lane. There’s a lay-by area across the road next to the church with free, unrestricted parking. It gets full at school drop off and pick up times due to the nearby secondary school and of course on Sundays.

A good place is a celebration of the present moment, where we can immerse ourselves fully in the "here and now." It's a destination that teaches us the art of mindfulness, helping us appreciate the beauty and richness of each passing second.

Nice family walk, play and picnic. Labeled trees to help educate children. Lovely hidden beauty in built up area. Animals to see. Have used it quite often. Friendly gym goes inside church.

Very nice place to walk and a few different species of tree to see. Bark path needs to be finished as you can't do a complete circular walk around the arboretum.

A lovely bit of green in the urban sprawl of Barnwood. It can get very muddy when it has rained but some of the paths have recently been repaired and the arboretum itself is usually not a problem. Plenty of space to run around in and always worth a visit.

A lovely flat walk. Some fabulously carved benches as well as traditional ones. There is a stream running through the grounds which dogs paddle in.

Beautiful and calm park. Here you can appreciate many trees species. My daughter enjoyed running around and getting her feet wet on the stream water.

This is a lovely little walk for the family or nice place to go for a picnic is quiet and beautiful, there is plenty of green areas for children to play and as you can see in the pictures you can take the little ones to feed the ducks. This place is in the middle of barnwood you wouldn't believe that there are busy roads around it as it is so peaceful.
Cheap day out with family and a lovely place to take the kids to play and run etc.
Brewery Gloucester Brewery @ Warehouse4 is based in Gloucester, England and focuses on producing craft beers using organic, sustainable, and local ingredients. The brewery operates a pub and beer garden as well as online shop. They also offer gift cards for visitors to purchase their beers directly at the brewery.
Great space. Very friendly staff. Large assortment of beer. They also make gin and vodka. I had the Sessions IPA. Delicious and reasonably priced. They also have a rainbow table. Loved it.

Really enjoyed our visit to the brewery.
It was nice to enjoy a pint in the rustic open plan brewery listen to a bit of music.
There is a shop selling various drinks and merchandise.
Definitely worth a visit if you're passing there.

Visited for the Easter beer festival, good beers but disappointed that after paying £10pp for entry (Inc £5 vouchers + glass) prices of drinks were inflated. Self-serve pumps showing £4.90 and being charged £6 a pint. Split into 3 bars, some only accept the beer tokens, others only bank cards.

Gloucester Brewery, really good beer in fact great beer, but the warehouse is so so so cold! Admittedly it is January but it is so uncomfortable, perhaps Bovril should be the preferred drink. Guys you really need to get the heating systems sorted!!! Hat, scarf & and full set of thermals required. It was that cold we headed off to the nearby Wetherspoons!

I go here to get gift packs of beer.
It is all very good and the staff are helpful.
There is limited parking on site, so I am straight in and out if I bulk buy.
I they do deliver.
I found the DPA exceptional, but they have quite a selection of IPA.
Two of them are as good as any American micro brewery.
They also do a selection of gin. I don't drink the stuff myself, but I am told that it is good.
They have self-service beer dispensers, which allow you to pay for and pour you're own pint (pay it the pump style).

Such a pleasant place for all generations. The pizza out the front was amazing (food trucks are only there at weekends I believe), the atmosphere was phenomenal and the prices are decent, which is hard to find now days. What was a completely spontaneous trip to Gloucester Quays, turned into hours of sitting in the warehouse, listening to live music, watching people have copious amounts of fun. I can only imagine how amazing the atmosphere must be if a few more people knew about this place!

I'm from Indonesia and really liked this place.
Where we can witness the brewing of beer.
I really enjoyed drinking the beer right at the brewery.
It has a quiet countryside feel and there is also a dock nearby with a view of boats docking.
Accompanied by relaxing music and also seeing some seagulls.
Would recommend coming here again, if visiting again.

There was a great vibe! We were there on a Saturday for a rugby match. The beers were great and self-service was fun. Everything was clean and well-maintained and the people were friendly. We loved that there was a food truck outside that we got the most delicious pizzas from to eat indoors.

This is called Fox's Hill Distillery which comes under Warehouse 4 on Gloucester Quays situated on the Waterfront.. We went in for first time yesterday and found it staff friendly and welcoming, lovely atmosphere. It is pay by card only and they do a self service bar which they do explain to you but they also do serve you themselves.. They have live music and do food.. You can book table for drinks.. Plenty of seating inside and outside.. We will go again as really enjoyed..

A great lil place! It was my first visit tonight for a comedy event and had no idea it existed! What a gem 🤩 Monthly comedy nights, beer festivals, brew their own on site, great atmosphere and reasonable priced drinks. Love it and definitely be returning!
The museum and shop is devoted to the works of Beatrix Potter, with items such as exclusive books and clothing. It's currently open Monday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm.
Always wanted to visit here and I have now done it and it didn't disappoint. Loved it.

This is a small shop with a free museum inside. It is located upstairs and it’s quite small but adorable. So many things about Peter Rabbit and other books of Beatrix Potter. Also the people who work there are friendly and very nice.

Such a lovely place dedicated to Beatrix Potter, the author of The Tales of Peter Rabbit books. Located in a narrow street, this hidden jem is full of history. Small shop full of Peter Rabbit items, with cute little details such as knitted mise hidden under tea cups. There is also a TV where kids can sit and watch the animation. On the second floor there is a little museum. The lady at the shop was very friendly.

A fabulous building full of quaint treasures of Beatrix Potter, including a mock up of the room from the book. It’s very full, joyously cramped and plenty to see with a small gift shop. Worth every moment being in there.

A pure delight. If you grew up with the tales of Beatrix Potter this feels so much like stepping into the tailor of Gloucester's actual shop. It's a real gem of a place with a lovely museum all about Beatrix Potter. The staff are also very friendly.
Robinswood Hill is a serene nature reserve in the countryside that boasts of lush forests, scenic walking trails, abundant wildlife and breathtaking views of the city. The area is well-maintained by the local landowner, with free-range dogs reveling in the space as long as there are no cattle around. Though it can get muddy during wet spells, Robinswood Hill remains an excellent facility for visitors seeking an escape from urban life to immerse themselves in nature's beauty.
A well maintained hill - especially lovely in the summer as there is a relatively new indoor and outdoor cafe. Great views from the top (popular on fireworks day!). Does get slippy/muddy when it’s wet.
Jasmine Trickey — Google review
Robinswood Hill is a lovely place for a quick walk if you are in the Gloucester area. There are plenty of footpaths in the area through grassland and woodland. From some points on the hill there are some amazing views over the city and surrounding countryside. The best views are from the top where there is a trigpoint, fire beacon, topograph, information boards, and benches to rest after the climb. There are plenty of footpaths on the hill, but most of them aren’t displayed on many maps. The best way to visit the nature reserve is to just walk around without any particular aim.
There are a few car parks around the hill, but there is also plenty of street parking if these are full. The main car park is free but does have a closing time.
Overall, a great place to walk, but can get very muddy and slippery in winter months.
