Located in the Pyynikki district of Tampere, the Pyynikki Coffee Shop & Observation Tower is a popular spot for both locals and tourists. The small cafe, nestled in the old observation tower, is renowned for its freshly baked and delicious doughnuts that are a hit on social media. Visitors can also enjoy locally roasted coffee from Tampereen Paahtimo while taking in the stunning panoramic views from the 26-meter lookout tower atop Pyynikki hill.
Place is historical and so warm. Observation tower visiting is 2 euros. Elevator usage is eligible. Prices are not expensive, as I remember coffee was 3 euros around. And there is a "munkki" in the place, it's dessert. That's was pretty good. You need to visit this place if you come to Tampere!

Nice walk through the woods to reach this Tampere gem.
Great views of Tampere, the lakes, and the forests that spread into the distance.
Only 2 Euros to go up the tower by lift or walk. At the top, take the ladder out to the outside observation area.
Once finished, enjoy a fresh coffee and cake/doughnut in the little cafe.

Lovely donut in a lovely location! Seems very classic and Nordic cafe with nice design.

My second visit in five years to the famous Pyynikki Näkötornin Kahvila for coffee, a doughnut and a spectacular view of beautiful Tampere. I can honestly say that I have never had a better doughnut anywhere, and the coffee is phenomenal too! For €2 you can go up the tower for some great views. Some tourist brochures available downstairs too. A must see

This place is so unique! Locals invited us to have coffee...well, this experience was really nice and so unique! Fresh air, we ordered a coffee and a incredible simple donuts..then we walked behind the tower ..we ate wild blueberries and other wild berries! We also had the view from the tower! Highly recommended! A beautiful view of Tampere.

Tiny cafe in Pyynikki Tower with long queues and the best donuts in whole Finland. If you want to visit the tower, there is never a queue. So you can pass that long line and go right up to tower. But if you want to taste those amazing donuts, prepare to wait. It’s worth for it.

It's a nice place for a quick bite. The munki🍩 is one of the best in Tampere. Munki🍩 plus coffee ☕ is the perfect combination. It's near to the city. Walking to the shop is also a nice experience 🏞️.

It's a tiny place a little outside of Tampere city center, but definitely worth visiting. The donuts are famous and rightfully so called the best. They are bouncy and the cardamom gives it that warmth. Don't be scared of the sugar on top, it's not too sweet. I think everyone should make a little detour from Tampere to eat these

Great views over Tampere and surrounding lakes. Truly breathtaking! Downstairs you can enjoy the best doughnuts money can buy, washed down with a decent cup of coffee. Lovely walks to be enjoyed too

They say it's the best cafe in town and I can't argue. The renowned munkki is indeed tasty! The Tower is also worth visiting, the view is quite something. The place can be busy during holidays, but the queue is quite manageable.

Good lake view point, good city and nature watch. Tasty fresh Munkki (🍩) to eat with hot kahvi (Coffee). One can have a nature trail of 2.5 km from there.

My friend from Tampere introduced me to this place. I've visited Tampere many times before, but this was my first opportunity to come here and try these renowned donuts. I truly feel like coming here was the right decision. The donuts are incredibly delicious, not overly sweet and delightfully soft. Inside the café, the enticing aroma of freshly baked donuts fills the air. The small, cozy ambiance is delightful. They offer seating both indoors and outdoors, surrounded by a beautiful environment that blends seamlessly with nature and fresh air. The best part is arriving here on a chilly day, taking in the panoramic view of Tampere city from above, enjoying a piece of donut, and sipping a cup of aromatic coffee or hot chocolate. Indulging in donuts and tea here makes me feel like life slows down, and I'm harmonizing with the beautiful nature of Tampere. I genuinely adore this place and am certain I'll return on my next visit to Tampere.
P.s: I devoured the entire donut right after snapping this first photo. Regrettably, I ate it all without capturing a single picture of this incredibly delicious donut.

Without a doubt, this shop is a good one to spend your time eating sweets Munkki! The flavor is different from other Munkki that existed in Tampere as my reference. The coffee in this shop is also good. Maybe the size of the cafe is too small. But they have options outside. You can go to an observation tower to sightseeing

We visited this cafe and paid with a 1000,- bill (tonnin seteli). This guy gave me back just few coins! I complained about this, but he just stood silent behind the register with a blank stare! Despite that, donuts and coffee was the best ever, and atmosphere was relaxed and hilarious. Highly recommended (pay with credit card though)!

Museum Centre Vapriikki is a contemporary exhibition space located within the renovated Tampella textile mill. The museum features an array of changing exhibitions that cover diverse subjects such as bicycles, Buddhism, and local history. Additionally, it houses permanent displays including Tamperes history, mineral and natural history museums. Visitors can also explore a small yet interesting ice-hockey museum exhibiting memorabilia of players and teams from Finland's renowned sporting passion.
It is amazing. The best place to spend time with your children.

This is a huge, very diverse museum center. I love the mineral exhibition and the morning paper one. Very enjoyable of multiple concepts.
The fly in the ointment is that it feels like every exhibition has done just on the surface. And several collections are complete without English, which is unfriendly to only English-speakers.
Several exhibitions have an expiration date: The morning paper exhibition on the 2nd floor is until 2022.8.28; The coffee stamp exhibition is until 2022.4.10.
If someone’s particularly interested in these exhibitions, plz come before the date.

Wow! This place is huge and they have so many museums. We really liked Post museum, Game museum and Stone museum. One thing was not good – they didn't have satisfying vegan options for lunch. We needed to go to another place to eat although other visitors could eat at this building. This was quite disappointing :(

Very interesting museum complex. You can visit all the museums with the same ticket (15/7€).
Some lockable lockers that free to use.
Currently there is a fairytale-inhibition, which is suitable for children but also interesting enough for adults. Texts are in Finnish and English. You can read about old tales and try to fight the dragon.
In the game museum you can play different games for free (~100 games)!
There is also exhibition on local rock music and a post museum.

If you want to go to the museum, which is also a family experience, and that the children don't want to come home, you've come to the right place!!! 🤩🤩
A charmingly and super fun museum complex for children and adults alike. The complex is beautifully planned and designed with a lot of creativity, creating endless fun, exciting and and funny interactive experiences.
The legend museum is fascinating, and the games museum is fascinating and evokes nostalgia. One of the greatest fun you can play in old games, and let the children understand what it was like when mom and dad were kids... (really fun!!!😄🙃😜)
There is a restaurant with delicious food at good prices specially for children.

Its a great museum and very cheap, feels like a bargain. You need a lot of time to go around it, at least 3 hours is recommended to fully see all of it. Has a restaurant and nice staff. Its really interesting and very big. Best museum in Tampere and covers everything from video games to biology and even stuff like geology.

utterly brilliant museum complex. Such diverse exhibits, and every mini-museum is so well curated. The mineral museum was a particular highlight, and the Postal museum an unexpected gem. There are a few things broken - like some of the games, and some of the Finlayson English audio, but other than that it's an incredible day out! you definitely need a around 30min-1 hour per exhibit, so can happily spend an entire day there. The café is nice, selling a variety of hot and cold food, with a huge number of tables (bringing own lunch not permitted - as we found out!).

Very nice museum. Liked the Fairy Tales Exhibition but the Game and Posti part is also worth a visit!

We visited hoping to see the mineral exhibition, and this is what we saw. The whole section was under renovation but there was no mention at the ticket counter, or from the staff..
This could have been a great place to spend the day with family, if the staff was responsible and informed the guests about the ongoing renovation beforehand.

Very interesting museum. It has nice exhibitions and galleries. A lot of information about the Finnish civil war.
It also has a video game exhibit and it was very interesting to play retro games on the original hardware.
The nature galleries and dioramas are also quite interesting.
If you are a hockey fan the Hockey Hall also seemed interesting.

One of the best museum experiences I've ever had. There is so much to see. The Finnish museum of games, which is such an amazing trip down memory lane. Nostalgia vibes for sure! The Finnish hockey wall of fame, postal museum, Tampere museum of natural history and so much more. Not to mention there are on going and fairly frequently changing exhibitions happening, so always make sure to check what's new when you're thinking about going. This complex also includes a café, a lunch restaurant and naturally a gift shop. A lot of sound, imagery, visuals, lights, moving images and personal involvement is included in the art. Makes the experience even more worth it every time and only with an 15€ fee I might add. Cheaper for children and retirees. Recommended!

Came here twice already, (will likely visit again too!) the exhibits are fantastic! Its easy for a museum to just give a surface-level explanation, but all the museums here have so much love and care put into them, ESPECIALLY the game museum! Can't comment on the restaurant there as I haven't been to that yet. A Wonderful experience which can satisfy those of all ages!

Hatanpää Park Arboretum is a vast park with a historic manor, offering scenic waterside paths and a striking rose garden. Visitors can also engage in boating and water sports while enjoying the diverse plant species. This location is ideal for family picnics or hanging out with friends during summer, especially given its fame for tulips and other flowers. During winter, it remains picturesque although there are fewer activities available due to seasonal closures of some businesses.
This is my first summer living in Tampere. I had a chance to visit this place with my family and friends. Enjoy the place, the beautiful flowers, and the lake, and this place is kids friendly. You can let your children play around as long as you can handle them, your kid will be fine

The Moomin Museum, which opened in 1931, features art from Finland and beyond, spanning various eras. It is an ideal destination for fans of the Moomins, as the museum presents a comprehensive exhibition on the history of these beloved characters and their tales. With original artwork and interactive displays, visitors of all ages will find something to enjoy at this captivating museum. Despite its small size, the attention to detail is impressive and not to be missed.
I didn't really know about Moomin before coming to Finland and this museum was still an awesome experience. I recommend grabbing a book guide so that you can follow the timeline of the books, especially on the underground floor, where things can get confusing. The museum has lights and soundtracks that play when you walk through and it's just a magical experience. I absolutely loved the workshop at the end, it is the perfect final touch to the lovely journey through the history of Moomin.

A wonderfully curated exhibition on two floors with interactive parts, original drawings as well as background information on each book and the author's life during the making of it. Additionally there are little 3D recreations of scenes depicted in the books with audio in different languages as well as text to read through.
Once you got your ticket, you can leave and enter the exhibition as many times as you want for 6 hours.
You're not allowed to take photos of some parts, but there is an exhibition book with plenty photos for sale at the local moomin shop.

Nasinneula is a popular tourist destination in Tampere, Finland. It is located on the top floor of a 120-meter tower adjacent to Sarkanniemi amusement park. The attraction offers visitors a variety of activities including rides in the theme park with planetarium, aquarium and observation tower, art museum and dining. Visitors can also enjoy stunning views of the city while indulging in high-quality food and wine from Nasinneula's rotating restaurant.

Restaurant Näsinneula is one of Finland’s most iconic restaurants. It is a restaurant that very literally stands out. The restaurant is situated above the city of Tampere at 124 meters high and revolves 360 degrees, combining your dining experience with a breathtaking view.
With large glass panel windows surrounding the restaurant, the restaurant was brightly lit on that summer evening with natural light pouring in. While gazing out over the panoramic view, you have a chance to admire both the city of Tampere along with beautiful Finnish lakes.
To make the most of our date night, we ordered their Ninth heaven 9-course tasting menu. The tasting menu allowed us to experience the essence of their whole menu in small quantities.
Our gastronomic journey began with aubergine with cream cheese, followed by cold smoked arctic char and many more. What we appreciated about the food from the first bite was how we could taste the essence of each ingredient in a dish.
While picking a favorite from such an exquisite menu can be difficult, we both agree that the reindeer in port wine sauce was the star of the evening. Paired with a fruity red wine, the flavors were truly unique.
If you want a dining experience that you’ll never forget, Näsinneula restaurant is the perfect choice. After all, who doesn’t want to try dining in the clouds?

We had such an amazing mid-week lunch at Nasinneula. Here is what happened for us on our visit to this wonderful restaurant. To start, the ride up the elevator was a fun disco dance experience, then we were greeted by the staff and shown where to hang our coats, and they walked us to a window-view table. When my friend read the lunch menu she was sad to see there was no tasting menu, as she was hoping to order that for us. We asked the waitress about the tasting menu, and she informed us that it started at 3:00 pm and it was only 1:00, we asked if would ask the chef if they would be willing to do a tasting menu for us, we were so pleased when they said, yes! We had no idea what would be coming and we were excited to see as it arrived. The waitress asked for any aversions or preferences. I was shy to say I didn’t like fish and just hoped for the best. Again to my surprise, the chef created different appetizers and main courses for me (beef) and my friend (fish). Here is what we ate in the five courses:
Roasted parsnip soup, I have never had anything like it and I think it was one of the best soups I have EVER eaten
For me, sliced deer meat and layered carrots which were so elegantly prepared, and my friend had salmon, roe, and cauliflower puree
The main course was two cuts of beef, expertly prepared with cabbage stem cube
Pre-desert of parsnip ice cream, who ever heard of that? But, yummmmm
Chocolate mouse with an almond cream
I think this restaurant should be aligning itself for a Micheline Star. They were so ready and willing to accommodate and every bite of food was carefully prepared with love, new and delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant for dinner and drinks for any occasion. I hope I find myself back in Tampere and at Nasinneula. Thank you for a wonderful meal!

When did they start to charge the fee for lift? Well, maybe it is needed, ever since, as the businesses there most likely cannot over the maintenance expenses. I have been here several times and this was the first time the restaurant was closed and was charged for the lift, 9.9 euros. I am not against the idea of charging this kind of entrance fee, maybe it is good to consider how to diversify the businesses, attracting more visits and …cleaning the windows a little bit, if possible. Will still come here every time when I am in town.

As with many Scandinavian amusementparks the rides seem to have been placed on a giant concrete slab with any decorations being an after-thought. Here they have at least done a fair job at improving the looks and making it more family friendly. There is a giant monkey frame in the kids area that is a huge relief for parents of kids that have spent to much time sitting in rides and standing in line.
One weird thing is that allmost all written information is only available in Finnish, but every single park attendant I asked spoke perfect English, and a few spoke Swedish (to my son's delight), so why are most price lists, signs and menues only in Finnish?
There is also a delightful little "petting zoo"/living museeum/story world/playground just to the side of the main amusementpark. It is well worth a visit for both young and old, but obviously an extra delight for us parents.

X was the best! Food prices were reasonable. Overall great experience! Tickets starts from 45€ wich is little bummer these days but totally worth it.

Nice park with quite thrilling coasters. If you are a tourist and not able to read Finnish, you will be guessing all the time as nothing - and I mean really nothing - is written in English or any other language.
When we visited in mid July there were quite long queues, so waiting time was depending on the coaster about 30 to 45 minutes. Surprisingly the longest queues were in front of food infrastructure.
Bring relaxed mood and enough time, then the visit will pay off!

Amazing theme park! The drop tower is turning so you will see in many directions and also it’s very INTENSE! 🎢🎡 I did all the extreme rides and I was soooo happy. Definitely worth paying 50 € for unlimited rides instead of 10 for each. Also go to the main tower with great view of the park itself, the city and lakes. From the top you will see how many trees they have here!! 🌲 🌲
Top attraction in Tampere for me :)

Big amusement park in Tampere, Finland, situated in an excellent location by a lake, a lovely place in spring and summer, to spend time with the family
Many fun rides and places to eat and have coffee. The park is a smoke free zone.
Awesome view from the tower, but I wouldn't recommend to eat there as it is very expensive and the food not so special.

The biggest flex of this amusement park is there is almost no queue for any activity you wish to do! There are so many amazing rides and other fun activities to do as well! 🤩

I am a fan of lunaparks and this is really particular. There are not only rides, but many attractions such as an aquarium, a planetarium and a tower (observatory). If you want to do the rides it is better to buy a day ticket because they cost a lot (10 euros each).
The Lenin Museum is a small but informative site that showcases the secret 1905 meeting between Lenin and Stalin, as well as exhibits on Soviet history. The museum presents a neutral perspective on the Russian Revolution and Fenno-Soviet relations, making it an enjoyable visit for those interested in either Lenin or general Russian and Finnish history. It features informative panels with text in Finnish, Swedish, English, and Russian languages.
Small, but quite unique.
Worth a visit if you're into history and want to learn more about the most important historical event of the last century.
I've got extra insight into the perspective from Finn's about Lenin and his life in Finland.
The exposition also includes a real-life reproduction of a Soviet era apartment from Estonia.

Nice exhibit but a bit of preparation is advisable and some of the info screens have errors.
All in all it seems a bit unprofessional
Roger Bosshard — Google review
We spend 2 truly interesting hours here! The museum is about Lenin; his connection with Finland, Tampere and this building; Stalin; Soviet history to nowadays. There was so many text on the screens, I feel like I read a book! Now I feel like filled in the gaps in understanding the history of the Soviet Union.
And thanks for mentioning all political prisoners and victims of dictators here.
Marina — Google review
A relatively small museum, yet very informative. The topics mainly deal with the russian revolution and fenno-soviet relations after that. The history is presented in a neutral manner, and is quite enjoyable. It's a useful and entertaining visit for anyone interested in Lenin himself or just russian and finnish history in general.
Myrsky Vesala — Google review
What a wonderfully curated museum with such a modern, yet classically meaningful approach to the nuanced subject, that is the Soviet Union and revolution. What’s more is that the location of this historical gateway is extensively relevant to the subject, in that this specific building was where foundational discussions took place, and important clandestine meetings were held prior to revolution. I had such fun learning about this from the Finnish perspective, and I will definitely return as I hadn’t enough time to read through all the literature provided.
Expect to spend about 2-3 hours if you like to read a lot, and consider bringing some water and a snack along. Also, invest in the Museokortti if you’re an avid musem/art exhibition visitor.
Juandré Scheepers — Google review
Good to see but the exposition should have more critical point of view to Soviet Union. It's unique museum of "Finlandization". Luckily the exposition is pretty compact.
Ivo Kostecký — Google review
Another must-see place in Tampere. This museum used to be the place to visit by the Soviet tourists but it also serves as document of Finnish history. The museum has renewed the exhibition in 2016 and it offers also facts and critical views of the Finnish-Soviet history. The place is not large so easy also for a quick visit. Includes nice little museum shop.

Nice historical museum, tells story of Lenin, Soviet Union and relations with Finland. There are informative panels with small portions of text in Finnish, Swedish, English and Russian. Feels so good to go back to our modern reality after visiting this museum ;-)

A museum that's very important for learning about the history of Finland, as well as Finno-Soviet and -Russian relations. A lot more than just Lenin, though it was fun seeing a lot of Lenin.
johanna brei — Google review
Excellent museum. Lots of nice stuff of Soviet era and Lenin. Its very communist and working class oriented, and if you are interested in that and history of Tampere in general, I really recommend it. It would take about 1,5 hours to go around it.
Amurin Museokortteli is a museum that comprises five residential buildings, a bakery, a shoemaker, two general shops, and a cafe. The museum offers an opportunity to step back in time and experience life from 1882 to 1973 through the preserved wooden houses consisting of 32 apartments. The interpretative panels provide historical information about the fictional lives of residents and their surroundings in English translation.
The museum block showcases old surviving buildings of the Amuri neighborhood. The buildings are furnished to represent different historical eras starting from year 1882 to year 1973. The museum gives an good overview of the past way of life in city of Tampere. In the same block there is also a nice oldish café.

I went here with my best friend and even tho it was raining, the history made up for the weather. Absolutely amazing how you can learn about the people living in each room and about what was happening around the world at the time. Just gorgeous place to visit. The sauna was very interesting too.

Tampere, also sometimes known as “Manse” (being compared to “Manchester” in that it was such a vibrant industrial city during the 17th and 18th centuries) used to have many working-class housing complexes such as ghat which can be seen at the Amuri Musem. This museum allows you to glimpse back in time to see a very well-portrayed lifestyle of those who occupied such complexes during Finland’s own industrial revolution. Expect to spend about 2-4 hours here depending on how much you enjoy reading, and be sure to have something to eat and drink at the on-site kahvila (café) afterwards or as a halfway-rest stop. Consider investing in the Museokortti if you live in Finland, which allows access to all Finnish musems and other attractions for 12 months (there are many)!
Juandré Scheepers — Google review
The museum was interesting and had information I didn't know before. It felt as if I was actually walking in an old neighborhood!
You can use your museum card to get into the museum for free, three was extra activities for children as well.

If you are visiting Tampere I highly recommend visiting this place especially if you have youngsters. This magnificent museum offers a real glimpse of the lives of people living in that district in various past times. Also, it has some activities for kids that will keep them interested. Like an area with small cars and a kitchen. Also, it has a nice cafe that serves soups during working days but also sandwiches and nice patisserie goods.

I went to the coffee place, amazing pastries and the breakfast is good - the enviroment is quiet and is like to travel to the past - they has take good care of the details and they are kind. Saddly the museum was closed at that time.
Viikinsaari is a stunning summer destination just a 20-minute boat ride from Laukontori harbor in Tampere. The island offers various activities and services, including picnic areas, small swimming beaches, and free-to-use barbecue shelters. Visitors can enjoy the beautiful nature trails, ski or walk across Lake Pyhajarvi in winter, and participate in events organized by the local government.
A beautiful island which is just 20 minutes away from the Tampere city. There is a short nature trail which can be covered within 30-40 minutes. Better to buy the tickets online to avoid queue and to get some discount.
Gehan Premathilake — Google review
A nice island. Seems to be mainly for kids and families. A bunch of tiny beaches, with very limited space. Also a short nature trail. Surprising amount of people here still, maybe the restaurant is good. Ferry price also higher then I would have thought.
Marek Daifi — Google review
Definitely not as big as expected. It's a small island with a small beach and a nature path around the island. Part of it was closed due to a festival the next day which was a shame on an already small island. It is pretty but the boat price seems steep for such a small island.

Great location to visit, both for a normal day trip (to enjoy the peaceful nature walks and restaurant/cafe) and Saarihelvetti (the music festival). Always a great experience. Kiitos!

One of the best ways to spend a summer's day in Tampere: take the boat to this lovely island. Tickets can be bought at Laukontori harbour. Note that you get a 2 euro discount if you purchase your tickets online! The island has lots to see and do: a full-fledged good restaurant, a beer garden, kiosk for ice creams and grilled foods. A sauna, summer theatre, dance hall, a sandy beach for swimming can also be found here. You can bbq your own foods at the bbq-pit located near the beach. Boat trip takes 15-20 minutes.
The Finlayson Area in Tampere is a historically significant landmark, originally established as a wool fabric factory in the 1820s. Over time, it has transformed into a vibrant recreational space with an old-fashioned European charm. The area boasts numerous restaurants and unique dining experiences, including an American diner with a rodeo theme housed within a large industrial building. Visitors can also explore the nearby spy museum and enjoy the well-maintained surroundings.
A very lively place with many restaurants nearby along with home to famous museums. Well maintained, neat & clean and busy during peak hours. A must visit area while in Tampere.

I think this place is the area where you can find the iconic place with old fashioned style, European before 20 centuries. The place has many restaurants, if I count it correctly. There is also a spy museum, but outside of the Finlayson area. Overall, this place is good and you can visit there directly by walking around six minutes from Keskustori trem station.

Rauhaniemi Folk Spa, situated in Tampere, Finland, offers a genuine Finnish sauna experience in a traditional setting. Overlooking the picturesque Lake Nasijarvi, this spa provides breathtaking views and a serene environment for relaxation. Visitors can enjoy two different saunas for a reasonable fee and have the option to cool off in the lake afterward.
Legendary workers’ sauna might first feel a bit rough for foreign visitors but this is an authentic place to experience. The saunas have good (though quite hot) löyly and the winter swimming place is excellent.

Awesome Finnish sauna experience! You can use 2 different saunas (mixed, for both man and women) for 10 euros. The staff is super friendly and helpful. After the sauna you can cool off in the icy lake (which is highly recommended!).

Authentic Finnish cultural experience and would highly recommend a visit.
The only complaint is that a lot of the signs are only in Finnish and that there was no possibility of renting towels, only to purchase these (small handtowels for 5€ and large ones for 9€).
Possible to BYOB but there is also possibilities to buy NA beer and low alcohol beer in the shop.

Authentic Finnish sauna experience! For €9 at night you get two saunas (one is very very hot!) and then you can walk into the lake. I felt like the change rooms were a little older and crowded but not too bad. That’s my only complaint. Everybody was friendly and helpful!
Claire Hanna — Google review
Nice spot to have a dip in the water or for swimming and sun bathing.
Small kiosk in the summer for ice cream and some snacks. The two saunas pass cost 9€ per person to go to and there are two more small traditional saunas with extra 5€ cost on top of that. Swimming is free.
There are seperate dressing rooms for women and men, but the saunas are unisex so you need to wear a swimming suit. Showers only had cold water when i was in. There was also a locker for your small items that you can lock in to be safe. The shower & sauna areas are in desperate need for an update & clean up… Maybe it had been a busy day for them but that s not okay then still to have mold and dirt in. Next time i d consider reserving the private saunas (they looked new, so maybe no mold?) or just to go swimming on a hot day. Saunas did get very hot so if you are not a pro, I d not recommend this for your first sauna experience.

The Sara Hilden Art Museum is a contemporary art museum located by a lake. It houses around 4,500 works of modern art including outdoor sculptures. The building's architecture resembles that of old Soviet buildings but the interior is spacious and pleasant. Visitors can currently view an exhibition by Kari Vehosalo which features adult themes such as bondage and death. Additionally, the Still Still Life gallery showcases interesting pictures and installations.
Very nice place, spacious inside, located just besides the lake. At the exit there were posters from past exhibition, sold at super low price 2e!!!

This moderately small museum has very interesting exhibitions, the latest being WE by Thomas Houseago and also smaller exhibitions by Nick Cave and Brad Pitt. It's a place to see in itself, it is situated by the lake Nasijarvi in Tampere. It's about 20 minute walk from the central square of Tampere or you can take a bus to get there.

A small 2 storey museum with a cafe located a little outside the city centre.
The museum was showcasing a temporary exhibition by THOMAS HOUSEAGO – WE WITH NICK CAVE & BRAD PITT.
The art and sculptures featured were abstract.
It was a curiosity to experience and contemplate the tempest of Brad Pitt in his art pieces e.g. the acrylic blocks of bullet sprays slowed and frozen in time.
The life of the devil conveyed in a series of porcelain pieces from birth to death was unusual since the devil is more populary accepted as immortal. Brings to mind the Song by Joan Osborn "One of Us".
We would have liked to have seen the permanent artworks of local artists collected by Sara Hilden but sadly none were on display.
The visit took less than 2 hours, a part of the time was spent at the café.
FOOD AT SARA'S CAFÉ: 👍👍👍👍
Cosy café with really delicious, creamy chocolate cake and good brewed coffee.
The museum is water facing, has very limited but free parking. Place is wheelchair friendly.

The Finnish Labor Museum Werstas showcases exhibits on the history of labor and workers, Finland's independence, and steam engines. It is a free museum that takes around 2-3 hours to explore. The collection includes flags from various trade unions, speeches, and revolutionary songs. This museum is an excellent opportunity for everyone to understand the roots of Finnish welfare state.
Superb experience. Informative, thought-provoking, varied and absorbing with an eye-catching steam engine room for those who need a visual spectacle and interactive elements for children throughout.
The information boards are digestible and not too dry, while not being brief and superficial either
Overall, you will find a reflection on the nature of work and humanity which presents the achievements and shortcomings of social democracy, industrialisation, the labour movement through Tampere and Finland's experience.
As a resident of a country who is losing these values I was almost brought to tears in places in relief to have solidarity with people again.
And it's free! (That is to say, adequately funded through tax and donations)

The Main Library Metso, part of the Tampere City Library system, boasts a modern and eye-catching design spread over three levels with exhibition spaces and a cafe. It is considered one of the best libraries in the area due to its extensive book collection including digital resources. The knowledgeable and supportive staff offer quiet areas for peaceful reading. The Spy Museum boasts an exhibit of espionage and code breaking equipment, as well as an interactive secret agent test. This museum is a fun experience for pre-teens with interesting games such as the laser maze. However, younger children may find the games too difficult and the information boring. The exhibit contains numerous historic gadgets but lacks any new innovations that one might expect from a spy museum. While enjoyable for teenagers, it may not be recommended for adults or those with children under 11 years old.
Super fun excursion! This was recommended for something to do in Tampere if you only have 1 day. A great collection of information. There are booklets for those who don't read Finnish. I used the English version and feel like I learned a lot about spies and equipment.

Interesting stuff about the fascinating world of espionage. Lots of reading - quite literal walls of text - which can get quite heavy to slog through if you're not REALLY into it all.
Nevertheless, some of the unbelievable, James Bond movie plot-esque, real life spy stories and the truly ingenious gadgets on display are enough to carry you through at least one visit.

Such a cool place to visit! Maybe a bit too much stuff to read and due to that 1h goes by so fast, I recommend to book 2h of time just in case

Nice for a little dive into the history of the last century, in particular the one about spies and wars. It's little and not so easy to find, but considering where it is placed, it's even normal.

It was fun being there. They have a wide collection of spy devices, uniforms, tools, etc. There are some interactive spaces and you can also test some devices. In case you don't speak Finnish like me, you can inform the reception staff. I was given a folder with slides/book that contained all of the information in English. If memory serves me right, the languages available are English, Italian, German, French and Spanish. Worth visiting for sure!

A fun place to visit with loads of items on display and a binder in multiple languages for you to understand more about the things that interest you. The interactive elements weren't handed to you on a plate, you had to discover them, think a little, work them out. It was so refreshing to go to a museum that has interactive elements that are so well done. The more time you spend in the museum the more they make sense and surprise you.

There was lots of information that unfortunately I couldn’t read because most boards were in Finnish, no other languages so this was disappointing. Very few interactive expos but one would have to pay extra to use/try. Staff was nice though. Restrooms weren’t clean. Not allowed to take photos of anything:(
Sorsapuisto is a charming urban park featuring three playgrounds, sculptures, and a delightful summer cafe. The park also boasts well-maintained paths and lawns that provide ample space for various activities. Visitors can enjoy the sight of different breeds of hens and roosters roaming around the area. A lovely fountain adds to the overall aesthetic appeal of the park, while a duck pond attracts many cute ducks.
Cute ducks abound, people took our empty beer cans as we finished them practically.

Very good place to visit especially during summer. The temperature is warm and you can hang out with your family or friends here. Here, your children can play since this place has a good and large playground. You can play soccer or usually in my home country called it futsal.

A small park with a lake. The park is well lit at night and the paths are defined. It feels safe. Many people take their dogs for a walk here. There is no noise from the road and such a nice place to stroll.
There are sculptures to appreciate and benches to sit on.

It's a cozy park, and a common gathering spot during some events. Best to take a quilt if you plan to sit on the grass though, as there are plenty of ducks roaming about so the grass might not be clean to sit on directly.

Great park, where are usually some markets and student activities. Also they have a chicken farm thing there.

Beautiful public park, filled with free activities especially in the summer. Summertime also features large chicken cages with a variety of breeds showing their fancy feathers. Public restrooms available, small kiosks in the park and a variety of curious restaurants on all sides.

The Lutheran Church Alexander is renowned for its brick exterior, towering spires, uncluttered interior and well-manicured surroundings. It's a serene haven to unwind in, even if you're not devoutly religious. The church dates back to the late 1800s and stands as an iconic architectural marvel. Its premises offer a picturesque park that's breathtakingly beautiful.

Very simple and nice. I went in while they were Bible reading (In Finnish) only 3 people there. Cool inside look at the culture here. Otherwise wouldn’t go out of your way to see it.
