Rarity Gallery is an art gallery on Mykonos island that showcases the work of contemporary international artists. It offers a diverse collection of art from established and fledgling talent, with inspiration taken from icons from all over the world. Beyond traditional fine art, the gallery features photographic, video, and interactive pieces that can be mistaken for real life.
We had to go here because it was a recommended spot on tripadvisor. It’s pretty cool and one of the better galleries that we walked into. The owners are pleasant and even though they don’t like people taking pictures - if you ask them, they’re pretty cool about it.
The girl standing in the corner really tripped me out - the mannequins all look very real and that one girl that’s stuck taking off her sweater is perfectly placed in the gallery.

A must visit if you’re in Mykonos even if don’t like art.
Just in the hart of the town, is free entrance. The staff are super friendly and they explain you everything about every art exposed there.
It would take max 10 min to see everything.

Rarity Art Gallery in Mykonos is an absolute gem that takes the art gallery experience to a whole new level. I had the pleasure of visiting this stunning gallery during my recent trip to Mykonos, and I can confidently say that it exceeded all my expectations.
First and foremost, the location of Rarity Art Gallery is breathtaking. Situated in the heart of Mykonos, the gallery boasts panoramic views of the Aegean Sea, creating an awe-inspiring backdrop that perfectly complements the artwork. It's an absolute treat to wander through the exhibits while basking in the natural beauty of the surroundings.
The curation of the art collection is nothing short of exceptional. The gallery showcases a diverse range of contemporary art, including paintings, sculptures, and other forms of artistic expression. Each piece is thoughtfully placed, allowing visitors to explore and immerse themselves in the artistic journey. I was particularly impressed with the selection of local Greek artists, which added an authentic touch to the overall experience.
The staff at Rarity Art Gallery were friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about art. They were more than willing to engage in discussions about the artists and their works, which enriched my understanding and appreciation of the pieces on display. Their warmth and genuine love for art created a welcoming atmosphere that made my visit all the more enjoyable.
The gallery's interior design is elegant and minimalistic, ensuring that the focus remains on the art itself. The well-lit and spacious exhibition rooms create an ambiance that allows the artwork to speak for itself, enhancing the overall impact of each piece.
In addition to the stunning artworks, Rarity Art Gallery also hosts regular events, including art exhibitions, artist talks, and workshops. This commitment to fostering a thriving art community demonstrates their dedication to enriching the cultural landscape of Mykonos.

Overall, Rarity Art Gallery in Mykonos is a must-visit destination for art enthusiasts and travelers alike. I highly recommend adding Rarity Art Gallery to your Mykonos itinerary; it will undoubtedly be a highlight of your trip.

4 of my friends and i visited the gallery in july and was excited to see it for 3 months. when we saw the sign outside, we were very excited to finally see it. however when we went in, we were greeted by a very rude man who kept making rude comments and inappropriate jokes about my girl-friends. ignoring that, half of the gallery was closed for renovations and we were overall disappointed by the hospitality we got from this man :(((

This is a small gallery in downtown Mykonos, in the Little Venice district. The employees were absolutely fantastic and super knowledgeable about the art and the artists, able to point out interesting details and to provide some very helpful background information. The art is exceptional, in particular the photo realism pieces done in oil. We had a really enjoyable time admiring the art and learning about the artists and the pieces. Definitely recommend.

Small contemporary art gallery. Not crowded despite the prime location in the middle of everything. The staff was very friendly. Good respite from the hot Greek sun - had air conditioning.

Semeli Bar is a popular nightlife spot located in the charming seafront neighborhood of Little Venice. Known for its lively atmosphere, the bar attracts locals and tourists alike with its great music and friendly staff. Visitors to Little Venice can also enjoy exploring nearby attractions such as art galleries and historical landmarks like the windmills. Afterward, they can take a quad bike tour to Elia beach for an afternoon of relaxation before returning to town to witness a beautiful sunset over the tranquil seafront.
We went jn April and this place was the most enjoyable bar_club for dancing and awesome music's and very nice staff

Pricey drinks, but tasty. And a great place to watch the sunset on the waterfront, without a crazy €60-€100 minimum spend like Negrita has next door

Well, considering the high prices in Mykonos I'd say I totally recommend semeli bar over the other ones. Great view, the staff is very serviceable and polite. The same does apply to the hookah. All in all, the view is nice, staff behaves as it's supposed to and the place is pretty graphic.

Really fun experience at night, the music was great! However, we came for brunch as well and the food was mediocre. We ordered coffee and tea, both of which were lukewarm. We also ordered omelets, which also came out not hot. They tasted good but it was a little disappointing eating barely warm omelets. The sweet pancakes were really good though.

Amazing place to have a cocktail as the sunsets. The views of the windMills are so beautiful. The ocean lashing at the harbour front is very relaxing but sometimes gets a bit splashy! Lots of little bars and restaurants - some absolute gems. Turns into a lively fun area after dark

Nice place for enjoying the morning with great view and friendly service. The place can get quite busy with all the tourists visiting Little Venice, but the view is worth the stop. Would definitely recommend it for a coffee break and a couple of photos during the less touristic hours of the day and the year.

Please note this happened during August 2023 season. I have been abroad with limited wifi so could only do this now. Read the reviews on Tripadvisor! Half the reviews here are for Little Venice and not the bar itself. I have travelled the world solo and this was one of the worst bars ever. It was also the first time in my life, that I had my drink spiked. Staff were rude and unfriendly. Tables were dirty. Has a nice view but that is it. I ordered a soft drink which was very expensive. I had a few sips and started to feel ill and drowsy. Luckily I made it back to my hotel where I passed out for a few hours. Read Tripadvisor reviews as others have had a similar experience. Writing this to warn other travellers. Most of the 5 star reviews here are not even for the bar itself or they come from Greeks who are probably friends of the owner!

Beautiful view! We had a drink in a patio in Little Venice. It’s a bit expensive though, you can sit there as long as you want to relax and enjoy the beautiful view. Water was so clear that you can see it through to the bottom. The colour of the sea was light green at near and then light blue and then deep blue.

Simply stunning wander in an out of tiny passageways with beautifully painted white and blue houses and shops. Periodically there are flowing plants, it just adds to the visual spectacle!
Probably my favorite part of our day in Mykonos!
The shopping itself is diverse primarily centering in Greek island based tourist merchandise and jewelry.
Note the paths are narrow, so those with mobility issues may need to consider this in advance.

Beautiful seafront, lovely to walk around, peaceful, charming and friendly. Surrounded by little walkways with many small churches and quaint shops.
Views are beautiful, and drinks and cuisine are fantastic, the atmosphere is friendly, quite busy at times. I would definitely visit again. 💖

Mykonos is quite the looker and there are some beautiful little streets and lanes in the old town.
But nonetheless Little Venice was a bit disappointing. Firstly, it's quite a small and compact area. Many restaurants lining up. Yes, with great views. But food-wise forgettable. For a drink maybe, but you pay for the view. But even being oceanfront it didn't wow me. There are lots of beautiful spots on this planet located in front of the ocean, so this one didn't seem special enough. I was more excited about the little streets in the back.
Like Santorini, Mykonos is a tourist magnet. But Santorini just has the bigger wow-factor (and has quiet spots if you walk a bit). Yes, the Old Town is nice, but as such, just Little Venice doesn't offer enough. It's worth a visit, but nothing I would run back to next time.
Matogianni street is a well-known destination in Mykonos, offering an array of fashion boutiques and other shops, as well as diverse dining options ranging from restaurants to bars. The area exudes vibrancy with colorful flowers, white painted buildings and railings that can change color. Despite being a popular tourist spot, the alleys are incredibly beautiful for strolling around while enjoying the shopping experience.
Beautiful street, classic Greek cobblestone and architecture, breathtaking scenery, blue doors on white buildings, and plenty and plenty of shopping. Some tourist traps for sure, be Mindful. But everything was such a great experience walking through the town on this shopping road.

Church Panagia Paraportiani is a whitewashed complex of 5 churches located on the waterfront in Mykonos. This ancient site has been standing since the 17th century and is a popular sunset spot due to its stunning views over the sea. The church features brightly coloured domes, making it one of the most visually appealing religious structures on Mykonos.
This Church complex is set between the Old port and Little Venice when walking this way along the sea (you'll miss it if you take the shortcut through the winding alleys inland).
Paraportiani Church complex consists of 5 churches built one above other or next to another in a small area by the sea. It dates back to the 14th century and was consequently enlarged.
Throughout the complex are interesting plaques explaining the history and photos of 20 c Mykonos when it was a normal ordinary village, not a jet set place, which I found very interesting

A white historical church by the sea, the church looks different from the blue dome ones, it can not be entered and has a triangle top with only one bell. I visit it at noon and the sun is just too strong especially reflected by the completely white church, recommend you to visit during sunset hours.

Panagia Paraportiani is a famous Greek Orthodox church located in the town of Mykonos, Greece. It is considered one of the most iconic and photographed churches in the country and is a popular tourist attraction.
The name "Panagia Paraportiani" translates to "Our Lady of the Side Gate" in Greek, and it is derived from its location next to the entrance of the medieval castle walls of Mykonos. The church is actually a complex of several chapels that were gradually built over a span of centuries, resulting in its unique and asymmetrical architectural design.
The construction of Panagia Paraportiani began in the 14th century and continued for several centuries, with each chapel being added by different builders at different times. The church incorporates elements of various architectural styles, including Byzantine, Venetian, and local Cycladic influences. Its distinct whitewashed exterior stands out against the traditional blue-domed churches that are commonly associated with Greece.
Panagia Paraportiani is composed of five small chapels built one on top of the other, with four of them forming the base and the fifth one crowning the structure. The lower chapels are dedicated to Saints Anargyroi, St. Eustathios, and St. Sozon, while the upper chapel, which is the most recognizable part of the church, is dedicated to the Virgin Mary. The upper chapel features a beautiful dome and a bell tower, creating a striking silhouette against the backdrop of the Aegean Sea.
Inside the church, visitors can admire religious icons, intricate woodwork, and other ornate decorations. The interior exudes a serene and peaceful atmosphere, inviting visitors to pause and reflect.
Panagia Paraportiani has become an iconic symbol of Mykonos and is often depicted in postcards, photographs, and artwork. Its unique architectural style and picturesque location make it a must-visit attraction for tourists from all over the world.

Charming church where sunset could be a delight. It’s a picturesque spot with ample amount of hidden treasures. It might get a lot crowded during evenings but there is a lot of space to sit and chill.
The walk to this place is just around the corner and it’s a lot less noisy than the little Venice part of the town.
Emily Robinson — Google review
My wife and I visited this iconic church on our last trip to Mykonos, it is just aside the remnants of Mykonos Castle.
The whitewashed colour on the facade and the surrounding buildings and structures make this spot quite special to take some impressive photos or selfies for instagram, so that, try to arrive early to take some nice photos avoiding crowds.
Watching the sunset from here is amazing due to the golden colours which paints the white facade and the surroundings, do not miss it.
The name of this church (Paraportiani) translates into 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘯𝘦𝘹𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘥𝘰𝘰𝘳, and it was, becase in early times, the door of the castle was next to this church.
Indeed, it is not only one church, the construction is spreaded into five small churches, built one on top or next to the other. The church of Agios Efstathios is the center, surrounded by the churches of Agios Anargyros, Agios Sozon, and Agia Anastasia. On top of those four churches, lies the church of the Virgin Mary (Paraportiani), which looks like a dome.

An amazing place to chill and relax with the beautiful view. The place is less crowded during the afternoon but during sunsets and evenings its very crowded unlike the other town little Venice. Make sure u use the longer way of the old port road and avoid the aisles to get to this place.
Recommend to visit here during sunsets. Couldn't make it up for one due to other commitments but would definitely plan for one in the near future.

Our day trip to Mykonos during our Mediterranean cruise a few years ago continues to stand out in our family's memories. We enjoyed hanging out and swimming in the waters of Psarou beach. The sunbeds were relatively cheap compared to the others nearby. The food at the canteen-style restaurant Be Cool was just what we craved. This beach was perfect for a family with children. Not like the party beaches a few miles away. Walking through the town was quite pleasant, albeit hot as it was the middle of summer. The Windmills of Mykonos were lovely. Will definitely come back and explore more of Mykonos on our next Greek isles adventure.

Panagia Paraportiani in the Town of Mykonos, north of the Castle of Mykonos, is one of the most photographed churches in the world. It consists of a complex of five churches, where four (Agios Efstathios, Agioi Anargyri, Agios Sozon, Agia Anastasia) are the base of the building and a fifth that rests like a dome. The church owes its name to the fact that it is located near the small gate, the ""paraporti"" of the wall of the medieval castle of Mykonos.
The picturesque church combines beauty with rich historical heritage. Its construction began in the middle of the 15th century. The white walls of the church, white being the characteristic color of Mykonos, come in a particularly interesting contrast with the intense blue of the sky and the sea, making it one of the most favorite places for pictures.
The Windmills of Mykonos are a historical landmark that can be found near Little Venice. They were built by the Venetians in the 16th century and revolutionised the agricultural landscape of the island.
Busy when the crew ships are in town, but it’s a must see spot for sunset with a beautiful view of the harbors, mountains in the distance, and little Venice. Free to enter. Quick to walk around, but windy as anything!

This is the perfect picture spot in Mykonos! The windmills look amazing and it's also a really nice place to find some share and get shelter from the sun. Near the first windmill there's also a souvenir shop which sells more unique things than other shops in the old town so I would recommend checking it out. Also there are a few places around that sell water so stock up here instead of going somewhere more expensive!

If you visit Mykonos Greece you have to visit the windmills of Mykonos. Located right on the beach into center of local restaurants bars and tourist stores alike. Here you will find some of the most authentic food in Mykonos and the freshest fish in the sea. You will get lots of picture opportunities but be sure to bring a jacket if you plan on being here after the sun goes down because it will get chilly. It’s windy in the day so perfect for a sundress picture or a Windy shirt for the guys.

Here’s a different vantage point on these windmills… we stayed here via Airbnb. Absolutely incredible experience and it was one of the nicest places we stayed while in Greece. The place was so clean and well put together and the location was perfectly located without being around all the loud evening scene of Mykonos. Three stories tall with two (arguably three) bedrooms and three bathrooms, this was the first place we stayed where the air conditioning was as good as what we have in the US. The views were stunning and it was an overall incredible experience. Not terribly expensive either!

My wife and I woke up quite early to take some good photos of this iconic and quite known windmills in Mykonos for our memories and also to share with our friends and loved ones.
We stayed at the city centre so it just took us some few steps to arrive, well a little bit longer due to we shot some photos of the charming and beautiful alleys of Chora without people.
When we arrived to this spot we got astonished by the beautiful landscape and marvelled because we realised we were very, very far from home and on a place too much people would like to be.
This day was not as windy as other days, because, if you do not know, the location of this windmills was strategically set due to most of the time is very windy here, so, we could get some beautiful shots with our camera, our mobile and some aerials with our drone.
These windmills were used in early days to grind grains like Wheat, Corn, Bulgur, Semolina or Barley which are used in the traditional Greek cuisine to prepare dishes like Greek country bread, Cretan rusks, Katsimaki, Bobota and Pilaf.
The five windmills are in good shape and well maintained, in contrast with other windmills you can find along Greece.
You can approach, sit back and take your photos, just try be early to have the place just for you.
There is a small gift shop in the place named Mytho that sales greek traditional products if you want to buy some souvenirs.
The attraction here are the windmills and the landscape view of the bay which is beautiful without the bustling of people.
We heard that you can stay at this beautiful windmills via Airbnb, but it is not a fact.

It's a quiet and little museum to be fair. Only costs 4 euros for entry and has lots of items to see, and well worth the time. Beautiful objects of art.

One of the oldest museum in Greece, built in 1905 to house the discoveries on Rheneia, a small island near Delos and used as a cemetery for the Delians (426 BC). The collection includes pottery, personal artifacts, grave reliefs and all kinds of grave-offerings.
One of the most important objects on display is the relief pithos with scenes from the Fall of Troy from the island of Tinos. The entrance is 4 euros and it is open from 8 am to 4 pm. I recommend its visit.

Small museum with lots of archaeological excavations exhibited. When I visited, there was an additional exhibition of the history of Mykonos in pictures. This was refreshing in an otherwise rather monotonous display. It was also interesting to see how artifacts are restored even when some pieces of the "puzzle" are missing.

Nice small museum with permanent display of Denos ceramic and other finds and temporary exhibits. Jewelry exhibit during our visit had ancient finds juxtaposed with contemporary designers. An interesting thing was to see in Neolithic case a gold bead and bronze pendant: while Neolithic age is by definition “new stone” it seems metal was beginning to be found...
