If you get a good deal for the place, it is okay. It’s a pretty hotel, some of the staff are nice, beach is okay- but be prepared for all the negatives that come with it:
• the food is disgusting, no taste, not enough options, we did see a change towards the end of June, so maybe they put more of an effort in holiday season, we went mid June for 10 days and I lost weight. Even simple things like pancakes are undercooked. If you don’t mind cheap eats, not a problem but if you are used to good home cooked meals this won’t sit well in your stomach. Also to try and make more money, the cocktails cost extra, fresh orange juice costs extra, ice cream costs extra- how can you not provide drinks and ice cream when it is all inclusive? We were full board. A joke.
• shops in the resort are absolute scammers, they do not have prices and overcharge tourists a lot. We had cases where we agreed one price and when we checked our card they had overcharged and changed the price last minute. Taxi has prices, but it is €35 for a 5 min drive, and a 20min taxi in Egypt usually costs around £3. Complete scam. Get a sim at the airport and book your own taxis using an app, or take the bus if you are in a group and feel comfortable.
• you cannot swim in the sea, water is very shallow with corals.
• we were there as a family, and experienced harassment from excursions sold to us by the resort, not to mention staff in the resort that would push the boundaries, and openly cat call repeatedly. If the hotel cannot guarantee our experience or safety outside the hotel by an excursion sold by them, this should be made clear. The men would provoke wives and children. When complaining about all the cat calling in the hotel, they say it is a joke. People are coming on holiday to relax, there’s a way to show interest, and if you can see someone doesn’t want to be bothered then leave them alone. They take the piss with tourists and are like dogs off a leash in the resort. very disrespectful, we did not partake in hotel activities as we felt uncomfortable. I am sure this disrespect would not happen between Egyptians, a lot can be shown by the way people welcome foreigners.
It was our first and last time in Egypt, the only thing I can recommend in the area is the diving is nice as there are tropical fish.
Overall, bad food leisure and people. Pros are the hotel is beautiful with nice scenery, it has a lot of potential if managed properly. Rooms are kept clean.
