This is a true 5 star rating. Traveling and a local recommended I try out bru burger. So glad I did, man was it good! Got the Mexican burger (probably called something close to that) with queso cheese and guacamole. It was delicious!! Burger was cooked just right, they asked how I wanted it (medium), and it was a great size. Waitress, Brittany (and was great) recommended the fries. She was right, they are fresh cut, kinda like 5 guys fries. An unexpected treat was the ketchup - I don't usually use ketchup and thought it was salsa since I got the Mexican burger. But it was very light, not thick and sugary like normal ketchup. It was so good, I asked for more. Nice layout with seating upstairs and outside. I don't drink, so can't speak about the bar side of things. But I didn't feel like I was eating bar food at all. High end quality burgers and fries. Absolutely try it. Oh, they gave me a 20% military discount also, which is awesome!
1st time eating here for all 3 of us. Waitress was very friendly and quick. We ordered the Bru Board as an appetizer. It was very good and enjoyed by all. I ordered the Mexicali Burger with fries, Rhett ordered the Honey Chipolte BBQ Burger with Chili Cheese fries, and Justin ordered the Double Bacon Burger. All the burgers were huge, we weren't quite sure how to fit them into our mouths! My burger was good, a little undercooked for my liking. I ordered it medium and it came with some pink showing throughout the burger. Some of the fries were too crispy to eat but not too many. The kids loved their burgers and fries. Everything was good with their meals. We got the Bread Pudding as a dessert. It was really yummy and a great addition to the meal.
With 14 locations in Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky, something must be going well for this small chain. We had to try it for the location in Evansville.
The Food - 4 Stars:
For the order, we had:
1) Onion Rings
2) Soft Pretzels
3) The Beginning
Interestingly, the burger was not the best part. The soft pretzel and the onion rings were the winner of the day for me. Don't get me wrong, the burger was great, but I have had better more often than not.
Atmosphere 5 Stars:
This location is located in the historic downtown Greyhound station of Evansville. The signage out front and the small touches of history throughout the restaurant really bring the history to life.
The Service - 3 Stars:
Average service with our waitress was nice and prompt.
The Price - 2 Stars:
$$ - Total ~$110 before the tip.
Overall, 4 stars and a little pricey, but definitely recommend.
