About
Kachka is a creative, eastern european restaurant with a kitschy feel. Its menu features Russian fare and house-infused vodkas. Sitting inside the restaurant, you feel ensconced somehow and are emboldened to sample an icy cold vodka flight and dive into the Ruskie Zakuski Experience.Reviews
Kachka is a must-visit restaurant in Portland known for its flavorful Eastern European cuisine, friendly and knowledgeable staff, vibrant atmosphere with unique decorations, and extensive selection of infused vodkas. Reviewers praise dishes like the well-seasoned pork skewer, tasty stuffed cabbage prepared with care, delicious rabbit stew, tender veal dumplings, Russian Sundae dessert, and more. The family-style dining option receives high marks for leaving guests content with excellent recommendations from the staff. Despite some mixed feelings about the Soviet-era theme and automatic gratuity policy, visitors appreciate the exceptional food quality and service at Kachka.
Wow! The wait staff team all knew the menu well and how to explain the dishes. The food was flavorful and the service was friendly, nice, funny and considerate. The pork on a skewer was well seasoned and prepared properly for optimal flavor. The stuffed cabbage was tasty and you can tell that a lot of care was put into its preparation. The selection of infused vodka was nice to sample but not my thing. The store upstairs had a nice selection of goods. This was an added bonus.
Loved everything! We had the meat dumplings, the trout, the salmon roe and the rabbit. All delicious! This with a beer and wine came to a reasonable $150 total (Including service). Wish we could eat there every night, but we live in LA 😔
What an amazing meal and service. Came on a recommendation from a friend and it did not disappoint!
The cabbage roll was just like my great grandmother user to make and the sauce it was in was absolutely decadent. The vareniki was so delicious as well. The short rib borscht was unlike any borscht I had ever tasted - perfectly salted and so flavourful.
We ended up there for an early dinner after missing lunch and the happy hour was so worth it! The food specials allowed us to try a bit of everything just like we wanted to!
Finally, the service. Every member of the staff was so attentive with their recommendations and truly made the experience social and vibrant.
We will be back next time we're in Portland!
The best Eastern European food I ever had. This place is a must-visit. I like the fact that they are accommodating only folks with vaccination and the entire team provides excellent customer service! The atmosphere is vibrant with unique decorations. Every single dish we had was delicious cocktails. The price is reasonable. Highly recommend this restaurant!
This restaurant was fantastic! The rabbit stew is a must, even if you aren't a fan of rabbit. The broth was just amazing flavor and the meat cooked perfectly.
The pork, veal, and onion dumplings were also great !
Finally we ordered their Russian Sundae and it, unsurprisingly, was also good!
The restaurant can definitely be expensive though if you get starters with your meals.
