Very nice ambiance. Our waiter was really nice and engaging. Food was amazing. I had the lobster bisque for starters, prime rib as my main dish, and a cheesecake. I will definitely be back for dinner if I'm ever in the area.
Went to eat there today, we’ve always enjoyed eating at Midgley’s because of the food, ambience and service. But today I was disappointed with the service my family and I received. It took a while for us to get our food and when it came it was incomplete My kids got what they ordered but mine took longer ( and it was just a Caesar salad with salmon!!) . Our server was nowhere to be found. She never checked on us. Not once she asked if there was anything we need.. She was not attentive at all. And if she was ever near our table she checked on the other table but not ours. It was frustrating and upsetting .. She finally brought my food after 20 minutes.. never apologized.. then she left again and never checked on us. I felt our table was neglected. I understand our table was not only one she’s waiting on but we are also paying customers. Not quite sure if she had a problem serving me and my family because the way she was talking to my son. I noticed from the tone of her voice she was annoyed with my son. My son was just simply stating that he ordered root beer and brought Pepsi instead. I didn’t appreciate it but I let it go. Midgely’s restaurant is one of our favorites but after today I don’t think we will be going to eat here for a while.. We left the restaurant feeling disappointed!!.
I first visited Midgley's about a year and a half ago on a busy day. My company took a few coworkers and I out to a complimentary lunch. The sun was out so they had there side doors open. The environment was wonderful and the food was even better. The waitress was extremely attentive and completely sold me on the restaurant. Don't get me wrong the food is a little pricey but you are definitely paying for the quality and service. If you can not afford a $50 steak they have $40 three course meals every week. The steak is a pretty popular recurring one. I have been at least 7 times since then. I go every time with my partner whenever we have a little extra money than usual. My go to meals are the rib eye steak, or the tomahawk pork chop during the spring menu when it comes with the brown sugar and Fiji apples. They have the creamiest mashed potatoes and the best asparagus even though they're a little small. I have a reservation tomorrow and I can not wait. I 100% recommend anyone to at least try. Midgley's if you want a high end restaurant or even a bar to hang out at. If you do plan on visiting just make sure to make a reservation because they don't typically except walk ins unless you are at the bar. Below are some pictures from my different visits.
