A half day out of Rome to the beach nearby. It is very refreshing to see very few tourists to none for a few hours. Take the metro to almost the end of the line and walk for 5-10 minutes to enjoy some seafood. We spent a few hours on the beach and rode the metro back in town. It was such an easy day to enjoy different part of Rome. The beach was clean and easy to walk through. The weather was still a little cold, but the view is lovely, peaceful, and inviting.

Quick easy refreshing break from Rome. €1.50 one way, 20 minutes train ride to spend the day at the beach. Lots of amazing restaurants close by, nice clean beach.

The beach is gorgeous in itself...but majority of beach was private and it was challenging finding space with umbrella and lounge chairs...but there was a bar and seating further away from beach..

It's a beautiful view point to enjoy the ocean beauty. The fresh and salty ocean air will certainly increase your hunger. You will find many restaurants to soothe your hunger with fish dishes as well.

The beach is situated near Rome. You can get there by train -1.5€. There is a supermarket where you can buy wine, ham, olive, tomatoes, glasses for vine, etc.. Perfect seaside picnic

you visit Ostia you must walk down this jetty. It is very nice and you can enjoy the views of the water and surrounding beaches.

We took a day trip to Ostia Antica and continued on to see the beach. This is a quick walk from the train station (Lido Central) and there’s a small public beach. It is still technically winter so the water was a bit chilly but felt good on our feet. The water is clear when you get up to it. Black sand beach. Great way to end the day.

Beautiful spot for a picturesque sunset. My wife enjoyed our last night in Italy here watching the sunset for almost an hour. Very beautiful and not very crowded location. There are tons of restaurants nearby for a perfect evening. Don’t forget a few locations walkable for gelato as well. You will see a few vendors start to set up near sunset as well for little souvenirs as well. We took many photos and a few videos. There was even an elderly gentleman playing beautiful music.

It's OK to cool down yourself in the sea. Search for free beach. Usually the only place without sun umbrellas and sun beds. So bring one with you. ⛱️

Visiting this place was not on purpose but turned out to be, one of the greatest dining experiences in Italy for us. All the staff we met were extremely friendly and welcoming, the atmosphere, also thanks to the short distance to the beach marvelous, the food, exceptional. In Rome we visited some of the highly recommended restaurants and turned out that Antico Traiano to us suited way much more than those high rated and sometimes highly priced restaurants. In our 5 days trip to Roma, I could choose only 1 place to go back it would be Antico Traiano without a doubt. Warmly recommend the visit.

This restaurant has some of the best calamari I've ever had, It's tender, flavorful, and perfectly breaded and salted. We went here with a party of 5 and our bill was $153 for 4 adult entrees (2 Arrabiata seafood pastas, a steak, and another type of seafood pasta), 1 kid size portion of tomato pasta ($6.50), 3 appetizers, a bottle of wine (23 euro), and 3 desserts (6 euro each). Quality on the food was good, and the price was great. They ask to see your vaccine cards upon entry into the restaurant.

This restaurant is near beach and the studf was very kind and friendly. Food was really good and tasty. Perfect seafood. Lovely place. In the evening totally full of guests.

Great food and huge portions. We had the seafood platter for 2 which could have been easily for 4. Deserts were delicious as well.

We arrived without a table booked, and got a table right away. The host was friendly and smiling. The place is wonderful, decoration is incredible. Nice music, not too loud. Very nice for bringing the family. They have a printed menu in Italian, and option of QR code for menu in English. For almost 10 minutes no one came to take our order for beverages or anything. I went to ask if I needed to order from the till, but was told to wait at the table. After a few minutes the waiter came and was very friendly. Only thing is that they don't like it too much when you order only one dish, even if you are eating at 10pm. Someone opened the emergency door near our table to smoke, and it began to get cold inside. We had to ask for it to be addressed. The food arrived in a great presentation, dishes are beautiful, and the taste is amazing. We had the prawn gnocchi (had 2 prawns in it) and the carbonara for my daughter (the bacon is incredible). They have option of house white wine, and its delicious. Red house is not available. We had twice some street vendors offering flowers inside the restaurant. Seems like something normal here. Overall the food is delicious, quite pricey, and fair portions. The service is friendly, but a bit snobby and inefficient at times. They receive a big group when were asking for the bill and 3 members of staff began moving tables, so we were kind of kicked out. Paying at the desk was not so friendly, with the lady there. Did not show us the bill and only told us the total price.

Really great food! Everything from the homemade focaccia, the Carciofo Romano, the pasta, & desserts was phenomenal! Glad the hotel Clerk recommended we have dinner here.

The calamari was very fresh. however the pasta is not that good compare to all the restaurants around. maybe you should find a local and less tourist because this restaurant located in very touristic Street here in ostia. We arrive at 9 PM and the restaurant I already full. We are six people and the food serve quick. we got calamari and mussels. then every each of us take the pasta. this is the seafood with pistachio sauce but the pasta is quite thick according to my taste. four of us could not finish the pasta. in general 3/5.

The octopus pinse was fantastic! 10/10! The best pinse I’ve ever had😭 crunchy on the top, feel refreshing with the source, and the octopus was fresh. The waiter was also very kinda to remind us the portion is big:) and the bread they provided also 10/10! The seafood pasta is just ok tho. But if you come definitely recommend pinse!

Everything was so nice. The food was amazing! So tasty but not too oily. The staff was nice, and for the first time since we are in Italy, they actually ask if they could clear the table!

If you wanna tell yourself a warm "welcom to Roma", is the best way walk down from sea to this bar, order a cappuccino and have experience of Real cappuccino. Very nice staff and service . Again Very nice cappuccino. 👌

The food was good and so was the service 😊 But there was poop in the shrimp, but maybe that is normal I don’t know 🤷🏽

Busy place on a nice street in Ostia. Pasta was above average with a good amount of seafood but the fried squid was too tough. Our waitress was very helpful but the lady taking payment at the end was unfriendly and I overheard the service of others and wasn't impressed so it depends who you get and who you know. Overall a bit of an underwhelming experience. Real rating 4.1.

I traveled here for the day as Google showed me it's not far from the airport. On my journey to the airport the pavement completely disappeared and there was no way for pedestrians through or even across the river anywhere. I had to go back all the way I came, get a train into Rome again just to then get another train out to the airport. This infastructure is appalling, that is the second time this holiday I have had to turn back as there is no pavements.

I love this place. It's beautiful and quiet enough to relax.

Beautiful harbour of Rome in the city of Ostia!! Is a big area with a good sidewalk and many cefes, bars and shops!!! Is open all the year and free access!! Beautiful sunsets from the rocks 🌅🇮🇹👍

Upon entering the port had to argue with the marinaio about the mooring lines. Afterwards we managed to moor properly. Othervise a safe port.

Big, nice and pleasant marina. Well organized with all facilities sailor may want: toilets, showers, shops, bistroes, restautants and so on. Prices rather cheap.

It is a wonderful place to spend a nice week-end, to enjoy the fresh sea air, to have a walk on the beach and to eat a delicious ice cream or a very good pizza...!!!👍👍👍

Lovely place to have a walk around especially if you love boats or sea. Nice restaurants and shops. If you own a boat, an annual subscription entitles you to boat place, one parking space, electricity and water for free. Also has clothes washing facilities. Ottimo posto per una passeggiata specialmente se adori le barche o il mare. Dei ristoranti e negozi carini. Se avete una barca, il posto annuale include posto macchina, elettricita' e acqua. Ha anche una lavatrice.

I cannot recommend the restaurant at all. It was fairly expensive for what it was. The portions were small, the food was very simple and it wasn't particularly good. The waiters forgot about us and parts of our order several times.

If you’re vacationing in Rome, this is a wonderful spot for a day at the beach. The place is clean, relaxing, and fair priced. It has everything you need for an enjoyable, chill experience. One thing though, stay away from the restaurant, the FOOD is NOT that GOOD. I had the stake and it was terrible. Probability, the toughest piece of beef I have ever ate. Imagine chewing on your belt for 20 minutes, that’s how it felt. My wife had the vongole pasta and it was undercooked. I get pasta al dente, but this was 2-3 minutes away from being al dente. Anyway, great place to chill in the sun, not a great place to eat. Maybe go out and find a better restaurant. Otherwise, highly recommended for a day in the sun.

The beach is pleasant and the staff is nice. However, I do not recommend the restaurant, the shrimp risotto was disgusting.

When in Rome and the temperatures hit +35, head to this place to cool down. Went for a swim and stopped here, nicely organised and set out, with lounges and sun umbrellas, and change rooms. But, we ordered lunch from the restaurant there, for the beach and it was superb, as was the service. The coffee was super. Will come back again!!!

The restaurant right on the beach with a kids play area in front. We had the fried prawn and calamari and the seafood soup. Both were delicious and fresh, the slight kick of chilli in the soup was welcome to the soft delicate mussels and clams. It's was a quiet afternoon as the weather wasn't that nice but we really enjoyed being by the sea. They offer some set menus also which range from 12-26 euros to suit all diets.

Restaurant was great. Grilled fish at good price and very gentle staff.

Beach is nice 2x bed and umbrella for 30eur is reasonable. The staff in the restaurant are jerks, told us to move to the table of Cafe, even they were not open at the time and we just wanted to sit down and think what to do next and not eat food or anything. Staff at Cafe is pleasant.

The beach is fairly clean and the food at the restaurant was nice. Apart from that most staff and people are quite rude and if you cannot communicate in Italian good luck to you. My experience was so disappointing from that place that I have no interest to visit the area again. I would recommend visiting a neighbouring sun-bed place you may have a better experience.

A beautiful beach at Lido di Ostia . Walkable distance from Lido Centro (Train station). We can rent cots and Umbrellas for a reasonable price like € 9 for a day.

Do not recommend this one... The pastas were super salty and greasy. You can eat better instant dishes than they serve you there. Also the service is very disappointing, make mistakes in the order, and still charge you with "coperto" as they shouldn't in lazio region.

Great setting, clothing optional. Only a few older men when we went. If you are a Natrualista this is a great place.

This has been my go to place in Rome for the last 15 years - never disappoints- great dishes fresh from the sea - great wines - great atmosphere - can’t please it enough. Whatever many things I hate about Rome this place is number 1 of what I love about it!

Quiet place, nice beach, all services you may need. Nature is great. Often the sea is rough but when it isn't the water is transparent and clear

Actually once the whole beach stretch, about 5 km, was a so called "naturista", it was just "Free beach" <Spiaggia Libera>, meaning that you could wear, or not, anything you wanted, provided that your "freedom" wouldn't limitate other's. People would stay with swimsuits or half, or nothing and so' nude, naked. Now after a change in customs and people restarted to cover up, the "die hard" naturists have gated a piece of the beach for themselves to be "free" in what they <don't> wear.
