The palace is really great and amazing! The view is incredible. There is a line to get a ticket. I think there are different prices for just taking a walk around the garden and palace and the ticket to take a look inside the palace (Didn't get it this time, but just by walking around is already a great experience!✨) There are many kind of attraction inside, where it be forest or small palace or zoo. A recommended place to visit on weekend!

Had the most amazing morning exploring the grounds of this palace. It was during December and I think because it was winter we didn’t have to pay any entrance fees. The palace also wasn’t open to go inside. But it had snowed and the gardens were just beautiful.

A most beautiful experience! Beautiful castle with a back garden as well as long walkways near the castle. One ticket (in winter time) was 9€ and you get a guide to walk you through the castle, on German or on English. Very nice!

Ludwigsburg Palace is a residential palace about 20min away from Stuttgart Hauptbanhof. It’s built in ancient baroque style, sprawling gardens, fountains and it’s very well maintained. If you have an extra day in Stuttgart or are looking for a weekend activity, I’d recommend. It’s a residential palace, so that explains why it’s not open for everyone to visit inside. Though I’ve seen an alternate tour to see some parts of the palace interiors. The gardens are beautiful with lots of colourful flowers, if you have time you can easily spend the entire afternoon here. Entry Fees - €10 Please note that this is a mandatory entry cost for you to enter the premises and is not an entry fees for the palace in itself.

The palace looks quite good from the outside. However the best part is the guided tour of the palace to get to know the history & culture of this place. It's not allowed to take pics inside though.

Amazing guided tour, very informative and entertaining. The castle has been kept in an excellent condition. The ticket is separate than the surrounding garden which is joyful for if you have kids.

Ludwigsburg Residential Palace is one of the largest Baroque buildings in Europe to survive in its original condition. We joined the guided tour and was shown the magnificent interiors of the palace. You pretty much got the idea how they lived during those days. I especially was facinated by the artwork that were done in all the ceiling. But of cos, photos were not allowed. But if you have a chance, please visit and engage the guided tour.

If you have kids, it will be a great place. There is a funny playground in garden. Otherwise, you can walk around this big place and enjoy cafes. Just remember your sunglasses and hat , if it is a sunny day. By the way, I am not sure if inside of palace is available for visiting. The ticket seems for garden only, and I did not check closely to palace buildings.

Once you enter, you almost seem to lose the sound and disturbance of a busy city surrounding the palace and gardens. Great space to relax and take a walk. There are tours as well! For the kids, the fairytale gardens are a must go and experience as well! They offer online and at the gate ticket purchases, even accept international/ foreign school IDs for student discount.

We paid 11.50€ per person and the schloss is too big , we could spend whole day here. There are restaurants inside which is good. Kids would love it too as there are few play areas inside.

We went for the annual Pumpkin Festival and it was such an amazing and beautiful building and gardens. Great place for a leisure walk will enjoy the many flowers, sculptures and sights.

Inside the palace best areas photographinng is prohibited, here you see are the ones taken on the way from the boat dock walking to the palace, it takes around 25~30mins, but you can for sure visit first the Augustiner Chorherrenstift furst, which is right next to the dock/harbor Be sure to be prepared for the stunning interiors designed and led by King Lugwig II in Neues Schloss Herrechiemsee, he was very creative and sensitive regarding to arts and architectures as you may see in Schloss Neuschwanstein, Schloss Linderhof, Schloss Nymphenburg, Schloss Oberschleissheim, etc. Was lucky to have a great English spoken tour guide Jeniffer showing me around with many interesting details from the paintings, sculptures, clock collections, rOOM/space designs, with many innovative mechanical designs from King Lugwig II which was invented by him Pity that the king didn't have the lucky to really Live inside this palace (also shortage of budgets as King Lugwig II spent simply too much to build dream paradises exisiting in his mind), do pay a visit here to get to know more histories of Bayern, definitely worthy of doing it at least once in your lifetime

The tour in German takes place every 1/2 hour, whereas the English Tour takes place once or twice a day. Check the website before planning a visit. Inside, photography is not allowed. The rooms are worth a visit and the tour guide explains the story behind the palace and the duke in an interesting and engaging way. Great place for walking , picnic, having lunch, or drinking wine with friends and family. The lake is beautiful.

One of the gems surrounding Stuttgart! We arrived there by bike (but the S-Bahn station is not that far away either) and were toootally impressed! Nice atmosphere during spring and autumn especially.

Nice plce to walk arround, there is a golf field for golf players and one golf restaurant is there we get delicious food here, and race horses also there, boating also available

This is the calm cool place basically a palace by lake side converted to public park. The apple orchards welcomes you to start with. Lake side walk. Well manicured big lawn and talk trees variety of flowers.

A good place for having a casual walk or a picnic. But the walking path wasn't the best. There were a lot of water puddles. There's a risk of slipping at some spots. Maybe it gets better when the sun is shining. They also offer boating in the lake at a fee. There's a direct bus from Ludwigsburg ZOB to this place which makes it accessible also by public transport. A car parking space is also available.

I've been here before. Stayed at the hotel. This time we walked through Favorite Park upto Mon Repos.. The lake was busy, lots of kids. What was missing were public toilets. Overall a good experience..

Excellent place to spend a relaxed Sunday ☀️! There’s good arrangement for parking. We mainly went there for paddle boating, but you can go for a walk, enjoy some coffee, or even have a picnic (if the weather permits). It’s really secluded from the city congestion, but also not very far away.

Lovely park! Nice little benches to take breaks on. Biergarten and a trip on the paddle boats makes this definitely a little highlight in Ludwigsburg.

The Favorite palace was a really nice place to visit. We couldn't go inside as it was closed but from outside it was beautiful. The surrounding garden was well maintained and had a variety of plants. The building is painted in yellow and on a sunny day, it looks absolutely remarkable.

Beautiful castle in the middle of a large, impressive park . If you are visiting Ludwigsburg it's a must!

An interesting hunting lodge in a small deer park. The deer are tame enough to be hand fed on apples but given the size of their antlers I wouldn’t recommend it! The Favorite Castle is pretty but you can’t go inside. There’s a nice view of the Residence Castle from the balcony. Free entry to the park 😃

If you want to escape the city & stress visit Schloss Favorite! Enjoy a long walk in the nature or have a picnic or a sunbath and relax.

Schloss Favorite is a Baroque maison de plaisance and hunting lodge in Ludwigsburg, Germany and was used as summer residence.
