Located well but had a very poor experience here. Nothing individually awful but rather a series of small slights and a lack of empathy or service. Arrived in the morning of a Saturday, with plans to attend a wedding that afternoon. We asked whether an early check in before 3pm was possible and were told categorically no. We then asked whether there was a room or space we could use for my wife to get ready, and were told the hallway mirror and toilet are available to us if we'd like. Checked in to find the room (a "standard" room) was very small, as was the bathroom. Clearly a larger room had been split into two small ones. The room was a little larger than the bed, which is a narrow double of 160cm, and had room to walk around all sides. The bathroom has a standing shower and toilet, with room for one person to realistically get ready. We were disappointed to find that the adjustable shower head was broken and would not stay in position, though it did provide water fine when held in the hand. The cup in the room was cracked. Also we could not find an iron to prepare our clothes. Notably the doors are not self locking so care should be taken to check the door before leaving, as well as when sleeping at night if that is a concern. It was an unusually hot and humid summer day, and the rooms are not air conditioned. Not a problem itself, but we asked for a fan and were told "we do not have fans for the standard rooms". Instead we left for the wedding steeped in sweat. After one night we decided to forgo the second night we had booked and move to another property. The hotel itself is well-located and the ornamental decor is charming and quaint (with a view of the castle rampart), however this is simply not enough to justify the €100 per night price. Each of the points above alone would be a small nuisance, but together made us feel like we were unwanted house guests rather than paying customers.

Super professional staff, helped to find our towed car (watch the signs!) The breakfast is superb, do not miss it. Clean and cozy, big wall on the window view, close to supermarket and stores and also the nice entrance of the old walled city and the tourist zone. We will be back.

Our room was so comfortable that we had the best night's sleep of our trip. Staff were friendly and very helpful, thank you! Red riding hood and Harry potter also enjoyed they're stay ;)

Nice city with a la wonderful garden for the public

The remparts were the defensive walls that surrounded to old city. Those to the east are still largely intact and would have presented a formidable barrier to any attempted assault. Beneath the walls are pleasant and well maintained gardens to walk through at your leisure as you explore this fascinating old city.

Vannes is a beautiful old walled town and was a major port in the days of sail. Today it exists largely on tourism from both French and foreign tourists. It has a tgriving Saturday market which is large and well attended. What is strange is the city's recent decision to introduce parking charges over all areas anywhere near the old town and the market. This will surely be a disincentive to visit as a tourist or to visit the market.

Vannes is an incredibly cute town. The central area is pedestrian only which is fantastic. The hardest thing to do here is not spend all of your money shopping!

Lovely town, we picked up a map from the tourist office on the old port, which contains a great route to follow to see all the highlights of the medieval buildings.

Was way smaller than what we expected, however the collection of species was good and the Aquarium was clean and well maintained. Undoubtedly the main attraction was the crocodile ! We had bought a combined ticket for the Aquarium as well as the Butterfly garden which is a short distance away.On a sunny day, the Butterfly garden is awesome !

Sadly I have to say although fun for the kids it cost 50 euro and is only a small area. I can't recommend for the price. Max family of 4 should be is 25 euro for this place

Good wet weather alternative - if a little smaller than many others and needs a bit of updating. The main attraction is the Paris sewer crocodile but they have some fascinating other aquatic creatures as well. Takes about an hour to go through it in reasonable detail with two primary aged grandchildren. Most explanations are in French and English which helps.

A lovely little cathedral with a very long history. A lot of work is being put into restoration and it is clearly a living parish church. There are helpful signs posted indicating useful and interesting facts, often in multiple languages. I enjoyed my visit.

Beautiful little cathedral hidden away in the city centre holding the precious relics of the Fourth Angel of the Apocalypse - St Vincent Ferrer. A lot of footfall which can make prayer difficult but good to see so many people inside a church. Information on large posters is also in English so very helpful to follow along. Lots of renovation going on so a lot is not on display which is a shame if you've come from far away. The house where St Vincent lived is above a tourist souvenir shop just around the corner. But was closed by 2pm so we couldn't visit assuming visiting is even possible. The house is quite badly signposted and no info online which makes it a terrible loss for pilgrims. All in all worth a visit - St Vincent Ferrer welcomes you.

It feels that a lot of a efforts has been put into that cathedral, and it's still the case today (free guided visit, a lot of information/boards) It was sad that there was no holy water left. (Even with the special covid holy water dispenser) Besides that it wasn't a special looking cathedral. Nice temperature and calm inside.

The architecture is quite breathtaking considering its q3th century. Very little time used except on the great organ. The marble used for the statues must be worth a small fortune these days. Very serine place & remarkable cool temperature wise. Visit on a Sunday.

A cathedral with stories and a huge tower. I found the cathedral very picturesque inside, lots of history and historical information. Well worth a visit. Very peaceful place to visit. If you like church, church’s and history you will like here.
