A unique and peaceful church up in the mountains. I saw people peacefully praying there. Definitely worth visiting.

The church is very nice and locates on the top of the hill. It is amazing view for a hiking path or using the cable "funicolare". It will take 8 minutes by funicolare or 1 hour on foot. There are few restaurants, hotels, bars around here for a stop while hiking.

Went on the cable car which is a lovely trip to the top. The church is a sight to see. Stopped at the hotel,bar,restaurant below the church for our return trip. Lovely staff, hospitality, comfort, views and prices. Snacks brought to our table, all inclusive.

Gorgeous sanctuary, with a very interesting story and stunning views of Rapallo, Santa Margherita and Portofino below. Easily accessible by cablecar or by walking an ancient mule path, but you can also drive there. Inside the sanctuary you can find lots of pictures, photos, papers and letters of people who received "miracles" from the sanctuary. There's also a few bars and restaurants nearby, and lots of beautiful hikes departing from here. Highly recommended, one of my favorite places in town.

Great fun up on the funicular but try the walk down. It's easy and spectacular.

The old castle of Rapallo was built around 1200 to protect the town from the pirates. Today is well preserved and sometimes host some art expositions or other events.

Beautiful landmark of Rapallo on the Lungomare. It is enchanting to see it day and night time. It was temporarily closed during our stay in Rapallo.

This is the symbol of this fascinating city! I never been inside and I don't think that it's even possible as far as I know. Anyway, it surely emanates charme and provide an amazing photo object. From its stairs, it starts a ~9 Km red carpet that will bring you to Portofino.

Very cute seaside town with a number of good shops & restaurants. There is also a beautiful walk on the promenade. Easy to visit Portofino by means of a ferry.

No access to it following storm in Oct 2018. Fabulous views. Small public beach next to it.. Opposite there's a small ice cream bar

Didn't go inside because the area around it hasconstruction work going on. It's also nice to just see it from outside. The beach next to it was super crowded.

Definitely worth taking a ride on the cable car, only costs around €10 and takes about 7 minutes to reach. They run every 30 minutes for memory and surprisingly not a lot of people waiting to get on. You get great coastal views and mountainous landscape on the way there and back. Unfortunately as it was late in the day, I didn't get to explore some of the walks when you reach Montallegro. There's also the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Montallegro with a little gift shop to the side.

Cable car goes up & down every 30 minutes, with a break between 12h30 and 14h30. A 2 way ticket is €10, but I'd say it's worth it. We went up just before the break at 12h30 and did a small walk and visit to the church, before eating in the Montallegro hotel/restaurant. We had a very good lunch, at a good price, and with an amazing view! Afterwards we walked up to Monte Rosa. It's a cute trail of medium difficulty and only a 5 to 10 minute walk to the top. The only disadvantage is that the top does not provide a nice view point due to all the trees. Otherwise, I would've given 5 stars. I would recommend going here. If you take the cable car, I would combine it with a lunch at the restaurant or a walk up or down. The walk from Rapallo to the top is 4km/90 minutes. I haven't done it myself, but if you're physically up for it, I would give it a shot

The cable car was a quiet and beautiful ride. The car holds between 10 and 15 people. They load up ever ten minutes. If you are the last car before they close for Lunch (12:30) you will be at the top for two hours. We went to the restaurant behind the church to eat and wait. It’s a very quiet atmosphere with no background music or noise, be prepared to be a bit bored if you have kids. If you know you are wanting to eat at this restaurant make reservations if you plan on sitting on the edge outside, most of those tables were reserved. There are cats too that were pretty amusing to watch.

Great views or the towns. Lots of school children when we went up so took and hour queueing for us to get back as they prioritised the children over adults. Would have been useful to advise us ahead of booking the trip.

Great view for 8€. Their system is quite old and there are only two cabins which move simultaneously. There is a cabin every 10 minutes. I think they are capable of moving 9 people. There is a restaurant and a church up there.

The €8 return ticket is worth it. The cable car took us much higher than we imagined, until we were high up in the mountains. There is a church on top as well as a few restaurants with a very good ambience. The frequency of the cable cars is one every half hour. Turned out to be a highlight of my trip to Rapallo.

An experience not to be missed. Im terrified of heights but once at the top there are two AMAZING RESTAURANTS…… we met lovely people, had drinks, sat back and enjoyed magnificent views. Make sure you have lunch here. The church is beautiful. Highly recommended.

Fantastic views from the cable car and the church at the top is superb., well worth the €10 charge for the round trip. A must in Rapallo.

A bit expensive but worth it for the amazing view on the way up (and down) much cooler at the top and you can while away some time at the crazy church which is packed full of ornaments and coloured marble.

Beautiful views, really nice cable car ride €8 per adult. 2 restaurants up the top offering the view and a church. One restaurant is behind the church and thats where my pictures are from.

Very friendly and helpful service workers. Spectacular views. Access to severally restaurants and a beautiful marble front cathedral with beautiful frescoes, paintings, religious icons, and altar.

Beautiful Ligurian town with two beaches, both sandy, one with nice yellow sand and the other bigger and wider but the sand is darker gray. Both beaches has its own charm.

Quaint little town with many hidden jewels to be uncovered, from eateries to tangible treasures. Jump in and discover, only adventurers need apply!

It's the coast to live the life between the beach, bars, restaurants and charming old european architecture.

Amazing experience

A gorgeous town at the end of the regional train line. The old part of the town is lined with gorgeous Italianites buildings, chuches and a magnificent stretch of ocean front café, restaurants etc. I visited in January which is winter where most beachfront bistros are closed. But, this is a perfect time to visit as it's virtually deserted and you explore at your leisure without feeling squashed in with hordes of tourists. Not far by train from Chiavari where I'm currently staying. Must visit ❤
