I went there after Christmas and goodness was it beautiful.. I was literally in awe with the spectacular light show on the cathedral.. Amazing Christmas decoration. Just beautiful!

Beautiful cathedral. Very good place to take photos. On some days there are guided tours for the choir stalls.

At last: a tourist destination that is profound. The reconstruction is ongoing, but the effect is still amazing.

Must see is the Chroma light and sound show telling the history around which this Gothic Beauty of a Cathedral has withstood... Simply just AWESOME. P.S remember to walk around the left side of the Cathedral after the show there are after show light shows on all the buildings in the Cathedral Gardens. P.P.S and it's on the way to the cafés, pubs and clubs by L'Petit Hommes in the river

OK, I like visiting historic churches and cathedrals, so unless I find it hideously expensive or in a very poor state when it is advertised as something wonderful I'm going to give it a good review. But as Cathedrals go, it was particularly impressive. A UNESCO world heritage site it is one of the largest 'classic' Gothic churches of the 13th century.

One of the most beautiful carhedrals in France, and the biggest although not the highest. Well preserved. A step back in history. Organ is being restored.

Wow!!! What a beautiful place to visit and feel humbled and amazed. Go and see it and the area of Amiens is beautiful full of history and the train ride for 10 Euros around the city is great even if your English as the tour is in Frence you still see some cool places 😎

If you are in town for a simple visit, this place is a must. It's astonishing how immense the cathedral is. Tons of histories of the city are displayed inside. It clearly retrace all events that occurred from centuries. Unfortunately the organ was in renovation.

It’s a magnificent catherderal and we’ll worth a visit at any time however, if you are lucky enough to see the light show in the summer months, it is spectacular. A quality production and a real asset to the city.

I didn’t know that this Notre Dame Cathedral is actually twice as big as the one in Paris. It's also a magnificent example of Gothic architecture. Inside, you can see plenty of natural lights, which is a part of its brilliant design. I really liked it!

Such a special place. The people of Amiens are so kind. Take your time to savour the space. I'll definitely come back soon!

Definitely one of the better churches I have seen. Sadly I went close to closing time and it was really dark inside. Even so, still very impressive

Visited on Easter Sunday, 2023, so the Easter service was underway. I was still able to walk around this impressive cathedral both on the outside and inside. It's also free, so if you like architecture, beautiful stained glass windows and reliefs and plaques which you much see and read, you leave humbled by the amount of work and skill that went into this cathedral

There was a note saying every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 3 PM, there will be a free guided tour which takes about 45 minutes.

Very impressive cathedral - well worth a visit. Look out for the Weeping Angel and the medieval carved friezes.

Amazing Roman Catholic cathedral in almost perfect condition! Very interesting interior.. I saw the portrait of Jesus in very different styles, there’s a labyrinth in the center of the ground. Baroque sculptures. The area was completely destroyed during WWI, but the church was kept untouched thanks to the peoples protection.

The boat trip was fine, although commentary was only in the French language. Gardens were a disappointment. Wild bits are totally unmanaged, meaning mainly stinging nettles and stagnant water. Lots of blocked off channels marked as private. Predominantly small privately owned shacks/huts, the majority of these are unkempt or derelict. There is no access to the public. No car park, no access for disabled. There is a toilet.

Lovely short boat ride around the canals surrounded by water gardens. The explanations are in French only. Kid friendly activity.

Great to see these unique market gardens by boat. So interesting, so much wildlife and so pretty. I wish I'd have been able to understand the commentary while on the boat - so as better to learn more about the ecosystems. Nonetheless it was excellent and enjoyed by all of us even the kid!

Definetly my favourite place in Amiens. It is nice cozy place in city centre. The paths are narrow and surronded by water from both sides which remind me of the swamps scene in LOR movies.

Very helpful staff. Nice boats. Spoiler alert : the boat driver speaks only Frencg.

A relaxing experience which we very much enjoyed. Would have liked to have understood more that was being said in the commentary but it was only in French. Our fault for not learning enough of the language!

It’s very interesting to see where Jules Verne lived in Amiens. A place full of history, with original pieces. The kids that love his books were very happy to visit the house, bigger than they have imagined.

A must see in amiens is the jules verne House, a place where he lived and wrote some of his most famous works. The staff were helpful and spoke some English. There were info boards in English too in every room. Floor 3 is recreated to resemble the nautilus and one floor is currently laid out as his publishers office. There is a small shop and cafe on site too. His tomb (picture on here) can be found in a cemetery at the edge of the city. We'll worth a look

We have a particular fondness for Jules Verne through Disneyland Paris' Space Mountain that ran from 1995 until 2005 and the still present Nautilus. Jules would've loved the original theming on them both, we have little doubt. We've read the corresponding novels and happened to be in the neighborhood of Amiens and couldn't resist paying a visit. Not for kids as it is more of an art like exhibition, nor is it very interactive. It did however instill in us a sense of how this man was both an intellectual and creative mind.

Beautiful house, but largely empty of original furnishings. Mostly dedicated to his legendary literary accomplishments. Friendly staff who spoke English, and displays in English and French. It was OK, not a must see museum though.

Very beautiful and well-organized museum. It has authentic pieces that belonged to Jules Verne. The information is also available in English and the museum is wheelchair accessible. The staff is also super friendly. Theres free entry for residents of the EU under 25 years old.

Today I visited this magical place, I have also visited other memorial houses, but none like this one, maybe because Jules Verne was not like any other. From the moment you enter, you feel the presence of Jules Verne there with you, it's as if time stood still and you don't know what to look at first, as if you want to hear a story, but why hear it when you can live it?

A surprising find for fans of Jules Verne. The house is preserved and takes you through Jules Verne's life and inspirations! A pity there are no English versions of his books for sale.

The author lived in this house as a tenant for 18 years, the longest during his last 34 years in Amiens. You’ll find two photographs of Jules Verne inside, taken in front of this house, and thus you will understand that the house is actually almost the same as it was at that time. It also has an office room and memories of his publisher Pierre-Jules, who published his first novel, Five Weeks in a Balloon. I enjoyed the giant map on the floor illustrating the route described in Around the World in Eighty Days, and the Nautilus control panel on the top.

A quick and lovely tour of Jules Verne's house. Makes you understand better his works.

Pretty much exactly what you would expect and worth its entry price. Loved seeing the various manuscripts and old books but especially loved the architecture of the house. It can get busy though.

It was the house he lived and wrote in Excellent displays of his works, models, submarines and the like. Over 3 floors, the attic was particularly good as the curators had really thought about how to apply his stories to the exhibits.Lovely , vivid artwork.Pity no books for sale in English , just French.

I read reviews to say it’s beyond expectation but it still amazed me when we visited. The zoo is built like a big park surrenders by a lot of greens and has very nature like setup and the animals looked very free and comfortable. It’s selection of animals is also very nice, we see some species rarer than London zoo. There are also animal encounter activities throughout the day (though not during lunch time). We saw the seal encounter and the host had been explaining things (although all in French) during the whole 20 minutes of show. They also have a contact zone where you could touch goats and see rabbits very closely. We spent a little over 2 hours in the zoo. There’s a cafe in the zoo to serve food like sandwiches or you could book to eat French dishes in le Pavillon Bleu right outside of the park. The zoo also provides free pushchairs for little ones and the ticket are really very reasonable to my opinion

What a fantastic experience at Amiens Zoo! Although the zoo is relatively small, it still managed to captivate us for a delightful 1-2 hour roundtrip. The local coffee, priced at just EUR 1, was a pleasant treat. The place is not exactly a tourist attraction and the visitors apart from us mainly locals. The only minor setback was the long line to enter the zoo, but once inside, it was worth the wait. The zoo's enchanting red panda and Sumatran tiger, were the highlights of our visit.

Fun small zoo, a really nice and relaxed atmosphere. The animals look well served in their own space. Also a fun thing to have vending machines giving out great food, this for the people who forgot their own food. Only bad thing is probably the site of Amiens has 0 English coverage although it has it's own tab.

The zoo itself is very nice. Small, but nice. We enjoyed our visit, since we came early but it became unbearable around noon, when zoo got flooded with children. Instead of a peaceful zoo visit, what we experienced was just pure mayhem. Regulation of amount of customers would probably help, or at least regulation of school trips that can visit at once could do. You also wait quite long for simple fries, but whatever. Animals were great

What amazing value for money. 21 euros for the family and was seriously impressed. Would definitely visit if in the area. Free parking with a 3 minute walk to te zoo. Great selection of animals.

A lovely place with plenty to see, even in the fall and colder weather (perhaps, animals could be even more likely to go out, not bothered by people). Around thirty animal species from all over the world, with interesting information about each, occasionally translated to English, as well as a few talks throughout the day. There's a snack bar inside, with fries and sandwiches, a small playground and a restaurant nearby. The admission fee is pleasantly affordable. Plan some three-four hours for a nice visit.

Nice small zoo with friendly prices. Good for 2-3 hours. Major upgrades are planned in the next years, which will improve the zoo and add more interesting animals.

What a lovely zoo! Wasn't at all crowded and we got very close to tigers and red pandas who seemed very relaxed

For a regional capital city zoo this place had a nice variety of animals and they'll be expanding in '24 & '25. Would love to see what they've done to the place.

Budget zoo with mostly birds. Not tourist-friendly.

Amazing quiet zoo. Perfect to spend 2h walking around and looking at animals. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Nice open air museum of prehistory and antique history. Nice housing reproductions. Artisans show and explain how certain works and crafts were made. When we visited it children were teached to make some small pottery items. The staff was nice and helpful. There was also a plant maze and a walking area.

Nice family place especially cultural for children (from 3 years old); offers a small pottery workshop for children, presentations for the museum and different expositions plus possibility to have a picnic and nice walk in the park.

Real nice open air museum. You start via an arboretum and a plant maze that is a bit too easy. Then there is an exhibition building that looks like the home of Barbapappa, containing a walk through the historic eras of the area. Charmingly dusty here and there but well done. The open air museum with re-enactments is real fun: they really invite the children (and grown-ups) to participate in making flint, fire and coins. At the restaurant or shop, try the Cervoise (locally brewn), it is really refreshing! From Picquigny, there is an entrance to the park via the cycle path along the Somme.

Would recommend to visit at the weekend. Voluntarys were explaining and showing stuff (thank you for that). Otherwise a nice big park were the kids can run around and you can spend a nice day if the weather is good. Not sooo much to see of course as in museum that cover the roman times and have ruins for example, so just be aware of that.

Almost only French speaking personnel. You cannot see half of the park until 14 00, despite the first part opening at 10 00. Good idea, but needs some development.

This is a lovely attraction and highly recommended for families looking for fun days out in the Amiens area. Although everything is reconstructed it is highly informative and offers spacious nature walks through lovely gardens and areas of reconstructed prehistory including habitation, tools and demonstrations of pottery making and the like. It's much better with a guide as they are very knowledgable but I didn't see any English speaking guides on offer. I found the written panels a bit limited walking around and it's not set up in any sequential order. We saw a demo of fire making from flint which was fantastic and a guide gave us a lengthy but fascinating talk around the pavilion in which we learnt loads about human evolution and cultural prehistory. Overall very much enjoyed by our family - kids and grownups alike
