Built in 1876 under the supervision of Ernst Ziller, the Town Hall of Ermoupolis on Miaouli square is one of the largest and most impressive Town Halls in all of Greece totally made in marble. Other noteworthy elements of the Town Hall are the hanging ladder at the entrance, the bust of D. Bafiadakis, the boardroom and the portraits of former mayors. The Town Hall houses the courts, the land registry, the archaeological museum and various other public bodies and municipal services which are open to the public from Monday to Friday from 8:00 hrs to 15:00 hrs. If you have some time, do not forget to go inside and take a walk along.

An old, renovated building is used for city clerks. The district court is also sitting here. Neoclassical and Rainessance architectural details are visible in the building. It is not big either impressive, but interesting to see as a piece of the modern Greece life.

Huge and spectacular church, with a beautiful interior. By the time we went there, we did not need to pay any entrance fee and the place was almost empty, so we could admire its beauty.

One of the most beautiful orthodox church in Ermoupoli with a big blue dome at the top and a beautiful square in the frontal access. It was built in the 19th century and dedicated to Saint Nicholas, the holy patron of sailors. Unfortunately for us, the day we visited was closed, so, we just admired its beauty from the outside. Close at the back of the church there is an access to Asteria and Vaporia Beaches, also to the Syros Cats Garden.

This is a wonderful beach and for me it is the best beach on the Island of Syros. You can walk out about 30 to 40 mtrs and only be about 3 foot deep. It is a sandy beach with very little stones, so it a very easy on your feet. You have many bars and restaurants running along the beach which are only 10 metres off the beach. Plenty of sunbeds to hire with umbrellas for some shade. Probably the best place to get food and drinks in the Blue Harmony Hotel, great service and very friendly staff. Also if you stay until the end of the day you will exposed to the most beautiful sunset straight in front of you across the sea, as you will see in the pictures attached. Well worth a visit.

The best place to have a clear view of the Syros sunset! We went sth like a 10 min walk away from the beach to have thi view and it was definitely worth it!

Kini beach was a great beach to visit. The water was clean, transparent, and on the day we visited without any waves and like a pool. There are umbrellas and chair that belong to the Restaurants and can be used with a moderate minimal consumption. It is easily accessible by bus from the center of Syrus.

For Greek Beaches it’s very mediocre. All the sun beds are very expensive and require reservations. Not enough space or shade left over for anyone else. But the water is still very nice, sand is very soft, and it’s a nice beach for a relaxing day. Come early, bring money is all I can say.

If you are looking for cristal clear quiet and shallow waters to dip in this is the place you are looking for, it has bars and restaurants nearby and the beach offers free showers to take out the salt from your body and dressing rooms to wear/unwear your swimsuit. Also there is a paid section where you can borrow sunbeds and umbrellas starting at €15 and a free one where you can use your own umbrella and beach towel. The parking section is limited but enough for the beach capacity, just keep in mind that in summer this beach could be a little busy due this place is quite popular among locals and tourists.

The Apollon Theatre is a cultural icon in Ermoupoli, it was built in 1862–1864 to the designs of the Italian architect Pietro Sampò and opened on 20 April 1864. It resembles a miniature of La Scala opera house located in Milan, Italy We visited this iconic place paying an entrance fee of 2€, it is a two history building with a low marble plinth and plastered facades, the inner floors are divided by a strip of limestone with the central part of the main face built all with marble, you can access the main hall and some of the little private balconies (only on days without performance). The place decoration is amazing and is really well preserved in spite of being damaged during World War II. If you have the chance of spect a performance here, do not waste the opportunity, buy some tickets with the friendly staff and enjoy the plot, you will feel like travelling back in time.

Lovely theater - well worth it to catch a show here. Instead of an orchestra seat you should go for the mezzanine or upper story cubicles (helps with COVID too as nobody is wearing masks). Note: (almost) no AC during shows. Dress light!

One of the most beautiful theatres I’ve saw. The 2€ entry fee is defo worth paying. The theatre resembles the famous Scalia from Milan. It’s really nice decorated and preserved. The staff working there is friendly and helpful.

It is absolutely astonishing what the Apollon Theater, the oldest Opera House in Greece ( since 1864) offers in performance, beauty , acoustics and history. The recent Madame Butterfly was of international quality and the Festival of the Aegean is rightfully called the Salzburg of the Aegean. For visitors helpful staff knows all about programming, history and stories surrounding this mythic place. The theater has been constructed Based on the plans of the Scala in Milan and is also called the Little Scala. Performances all year but if you can make it, take a week off for the International Festival of the Aegean in July!

This is a beautiful theater in the centre of Syros. Really loved the place. Also the people working there where super nice and helpful and they seem to enjoy and love their job. We did a music video shooting there, and it was such a great experience.
