A quite marvellous museum charting the history of Thessaly from pre history, to the introduction of Christainty. Would highly recommend, it was displayed well with information in English. One of the best I've ever been to. Best to drive to, as it isn't located in the city. The staff provided us booklets after we were finished, which was much appreciated. The building is purpose built, but needs connections to the city to get people in.

The arrangement of the permanent exhibition is based on the axes of chronological narration, geographic distribution and special subjects. it contains 11 sections and presents representative findings of Thessalian culture from Paleolithic era to the 19th century.

What a gem this museum is.Excellent displays of all epochs from the plains of Larissa. Pre history was particularly well displayed. Worth a visit fir sure.

Beautiful setting, helpful staff, must see for anyone wanting to know more about history of the entire region. At the time of visit the entrance fee was only 2 EUR.

The museum had such a beautiful environment and also had pages with braille writing so that blind people can understand better. They had some of the exhibits that were open for people to touch. Thought when we touched them a very aggressive employee from the museum started shouting at us and said to us very mean things. It's so sad to see such a great investment and idea get destroyed from unprofessional and disrespectfull employees.

I was absolutely mesmerized by both the exhibitions currently in display. There are different parts in the main exhibition which depict the architecture, art and lifestyle of all the chronological periods from the Paleolithic Age to the Byzantine era. There are amazing sculptures and exquisite silver and gold jewellery. There is also multimedia available for the young and the techi. Another reason why I recommend going to this museum is because they have very friendly and informative guards and staff. There are big parking lots, spotless bathrooms, a beautiful garden and all kinds of facilities which make the place also very attractive for school teachers visiting with groups of children and senior-friendly travel groups. However, there is an issue, currently, with the cafeteria being closed, the public transportation being too far away and not too often, but i am sure that these problems will be resolved in time. To sum up, I would highly recommend visiting this gorgeous museum in the outskirts of Larisa. The artifacts in display are definitely a must-see and I’m sure it is worth a visit especially for children, who can have fun by learning about the local history.

One of the best cultural Churches in sofia, Has details about a lot of the history, and also has a crypt. In the crypt it's dark and has tvs to explain and tell about the history of Sofia. It's a very very nice place to visit especially for tourists.

This historic church dating to the 6th century is interesting to see, though it only takes about 5 minutes as it is quite small. There were about a dozen seats inside which helped in seeing the paintings on the ceiling and upper walls, and signs with some history in the outer part. The two negatives are no photos allowed inside (fair I guess), but also that about 1/3-1/2 of the floor space in the alcoves is taken up by a shop (super odd feeling).

Very nice old small church. Frescoes are old and therefore more interesting and valuable. I love the fact this church, as most of the others, are still working (if you are not a morning person, you can come to evening liturgy - 5PM).

Visited the Round Church in Sofia and I must say, it's a charming little gem with a rich history. The ancient architecture adds to its beauty, and I thoroughly enjoyed my time exploring this lovely, cozy church. Highly recommended

Super awesome place and gorgeous fresco inside! It does not cost any money to visit and I highly recommend that you do so. It’s beautifully situated inside the walls of government buildings I believe? There is even a restaurant close to the rotunda if you’re looking for a bite to eat while looking at the church. Church with interesting structure and layout. Believed to be the oldest building in Sofia. Would be better if it is not blocked by the surrounding buildings and accorded the status it deserved

This historical site of the former Eastern Roman Empire fascinates me. Sophisticated architecture combined with intelligent smoke and steam ducts for the sauna and heating. And all this in the centre of the great city of Sofia. And there is much more to see. I really like Sofia.

The Rotunda Church is a great summary of Bulgaria's history, from the Roman times to the Communist era and now our modern days. It was built initially as a Roman bath, then converted into a church. During the rules of the Ottomans, it was a mosque and then it became a church again when Bulgaria gained independence. Then during the Communist days, the government buildings were built around it so that this religious building will not be in public eyes, which I believe helped it survive till today. It is free and uniquely positioned. Come in and walk to get a beautiful look at the church

Surrounded by much taller and much newer government buildings, St. George Rotunda Church is one of the most remarkable structures in Sofia. Originally built as a Roman Bath in the 4th century, this red brick building was converted into a church, became a mosque during the rule of the Ottomans and was reconsecrated as an Orthodox Church when Bulgaria regained its independence. There are beautiful frescoes inside. They had been painted over by the Ottomans and rediscovered and restored in the 20th century. Behind and around the building, there are remains of the old Roman city. Walk around to get a sense of the history of the place and for beautiful perspectives of the church.
