One of the place to visit while having friends come over which is not local. Knowing the history of those war and what's the contribution that had been made and sacrifice and lead to what we have now. The facility seems like hardly being take care. Probably need more income to service and maintain.

A quiet war memorial sitting in the town of Kundasang. Location is easy to find. Place is well maintain with beautiful garden and flowers being planted inside. There is also a small souvenir shop selling handicraft in this memorial site.

Brought 2-61 year old to enter the place, unfortunately there is no exemptions of entrance fee for 60 above I don’t remember the toddler requirements. The monument are were closed. make sure to wear hat and bring umbrella while you explore them cause the place is an open area and no shades Restroom can be found besides the entrance Overall very educational.

I am not sure if the place is going for secret garden feel or haunted garden feel. There is an entrace fee of rm4 but place has an abandoned/ruin like feel. Leaves are everywhere, moss is abundant on the steps so it is slippery and the foliage tends to lean on the wild side. The flowering shrubs are not tended so do jot flower to their advantage. The picture shared here does not convey the muddiness feel of the fountain. All in all, not sure if it is worth the rm4 charge, but if you are a history buff or have fallen relatives here; sure why not visit?

We visited this war memorial that memorializes the death march in World War 2 where 2,400 British and Australian soldiers perished. Unfortunately the place is very poorly maintained despite a small entrance fee being charged. Those in charge need to do more to properly honour the memory of those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Kundasang War Memorial is located at the busy Kundasang market. Its basically a memorial garden for those armies who sacrificed during WW2. The garden was maintained through entrance fees and there is a sundry shop selling snack and drinks for you while in the peaceful hidden garden. Nothing much to explore other than some history monument.

Great historical place, the place is not big and can be completed within 10-15 minutes. Entrance fee is RM5/pax, CASH ONLY. Got toilet and sourvenior shop inside.

Some areas were beautiful and some areas you wished you can lend your hands/ideas to make it more beautiful especially areas with flowers. It's a beautiful memorial war but its that just the limit you can do to beautify it? So simple? Please repair the seats. Make memorial war great again!

Garden style war memorial dedicated to 1800 Australian, and 600 British servicemen who had died in the Sandakan POW camp, and during the death marches between 1943 and 1945. Also to honour the locals who risked their lives to help the POWs. The place is a series of gardens, namely the Australian Garden, English Rose Garden, and Borneo Garden. The Contemplation Garden has marble plaques inscribed with the names of all who perished, and pond that cuts through a bunch of columns. Behind the Contemplation Garden is a lookout point with a good view of the surrounding area. Lots of greenery and flowers here. Also a souvenir shop and a small resting area with a collection of old photos. Malaysians pay a maintenance fee of RM4.

Best and most well maintained place of Kundasang if you ask me. Definitely worth visiting for 10rm and tells some interesting (horrific) history. Nice view on the mountain at the waterside pond at the end

This is more like a serene botanical garden as those charming flowers were planted to commemorate those lost in the war. It is located in the centre of Kundasang. The entrance fee is only RM5 if not mistaken.

A sombre yet poignant reminder of the past. While the different adventure places of interest are the main draw in Kundasang, the memorial is a nice place to take a step back and remember the horrors of war and its heroes. Do visit and donate graciously to maintain the upkeep of the memorial.

Entrance fees RM5. Walking distance from Kundasang Square parking lot (Alliance Bank, KFC). Though slightly uphill through a flight of stairs, it was a pleasant walk in the cool ambience... But not wheelchairs or strollers friendly. Historical exhibits & a beautiful garden within.

War memorial with a lot of history and stories behind it. With engraved 1721 names of war heroes, this is a true history of war memorial. The garden kept of multi flower and statue of war facts. Good to add knowledge.

There place is very soothing with a natural fast flowing river. You can opt to pay for rm4 to just wade in the shallows or rm8 for a dipping. Personally chose the wading as there are hundreds of fish with one or 2 huge catfishes that look like they can swallow your fingers whole. Water is refreshing and you can also opt to feed the fish with fish food other than your own feet. Renovation was underway during my visit, so a portion of the place was not accessable

Nice place to relax your feet after a day of long walking surround tourish attraction area in Ranau and Kundasang. Just let the fish do their job 🤭 Adviceable to buy your own fish food as the one sold here kinda expensive although RM1 in a small quantity. The fish food will attract more fish to come over to you. You can opt to swim with the fish ... so do not forget to bring your swim suit.

Them fishes are abundant and well fed. So ticklish when they nibble on my feet- more satisfying compared to women's touch on my feet.Oh yes, there are catfishes too-they look as intimidating as bullies.Do not wear slippers into the river, them fishes dont appreciate dirt.I should pet myself to be lucky to have felt one of the wonders of nature...visited this lovely home away from home on 29.3.2022..

Ticket booth is located away from the parking area so it is advisable to buy the ticket first. Ample parking space. You can buy fish food at RM1 per packet to hand feed the fish. Buy around 5-6 packets. Fish seems forever hungry. The small ones will nibble your feet. Sometimes it can be a little uncomfortable. Toilets are available but really need improvement in overall cleanliness.

Entrance fee apply for adult Rm3 child age 6 below Rm1. Remember to buy fish food to attract the fish close to your leg and yes some fish will suck/eat your dead skin😆 give a try its really fun. My kids love it too

It's really a nature fish spa, and there is no need to worry about the skin getting an infection because the fish come and go. The one thing that need take precautions is that anyone who got diabetic is not recommended to do fish spa their teeth,really can bite you !

The river experience with the fishes was fine. Entrance RM5, Fish food RM1. Toilets were nasty though, no water supply and costs 50 cents to enter.

Recommended for fresh experience. However, the fish are too large for a pleasant fish spa. There are occasionally sting feelings as I think some fish teeth are too sharp. But don't worry, no bleeding. Just mentally prepare for it.

So excited to go into the river with all the fish around my legs but l did not go into the river becoz l had problems with my legs. The ticket is cheap on RM5 per adult and there are stalls along the way to the river. You can buy lots of traditional souvenirs with cheap prices.

Another attraction for tourists in Ranau. For those not used to this cwould feel ticklist when the fish nibbles your feet. Stalls selling local food and handicrafts lined up along the road leading to the fish spa.

The home of Sabah Tea. The factory looks abandoned, but the cafe is operating. Some minor paid attractions like the treetop deck, and traditional costume rental. Other than that are some photo spots (not very well-maintained), but the tea farm doesn't look very lush, and sparse at some places. Some shelters and lawn chairs for sunset viewings. The cafe offers a variety of Sabah Tea drinks, and food. Prices are above average, but so are the portions. Give the Sabah Tea ice cream a try. During my visit there, the sounds of the cicadas was deafening, so it wasn't very peaceful. There's also a souvenir shop selling various Sabah Tea products and some random stuff.

Food was bad. Maybe chef not in mood. Ordered Chicken Sabah Tea Soup (small portion) - soup okay la, but we only get like 5-6 slices of chicken, mushroom & carrot quite a lot maybe they can change the menu's name to mushroom chicken😂 Wild Vege(pucuk paku) with sardine - okay la nothing much to say because its sardine, u all know how its taste Ice cream split banana - creamy & not too sweet. Balance taste Teh tarik sabah tea - i think they forgot to tarik the tea Flavoured Sabah Tea (Peppermint) - I dont feel refresh because the peppermint is not there. They have new attraction which is Canopy Walk, maximum spend time is 10minutes. Again...u have to pay to walk thru the bridge Adult :RM5 Children :RM3. (My personal opinion,maybe its will more nice if they dont charge restaurant's customer because well, u gonna spent a lot during dining, consider its complimentary for your restaurant's customer) They also have souvenirs shop, plenty of flavoured tea available & affordable price. Service is so so because during my time there, group of tourist there so staff more attentive to the tourist's.

A must visit. It is near the main road. There is a big restaurant here. So, you can have lunch and Sabah Tea while enjoying the view of the vast tea plantation. There ae many good photo spots too. For fun, love birds can lock their love at a huge teapot, good luck.

Spacious area for dining. The green tea pancakes were quite mushy instead of fluffy. Recommend the pandan teh Tarik. Other food items seemed overpriced. In terms of attractions, there’s the gift shop with a list of tea prices compared to other locations (data as of 2016), POW death March route history, treehouse (rm5 per adult) with canopy walk - do not recommend as it’s quite expensive with views obstructed by trees, factory, plantation, long houses.

Disappointed. The waiter not friendly 🥺 I ordered a mix fruits but I only got the watermelon. They didn't tell me before proceeding with the order that some of the item is out of stock. So I asked if the price was still the same.. but the cashier just ignored me.. pay for Rm40 total for small watermelon size, ice cream small size and 1 panda tea drink.

A bit disappointed after a 1 hour drive from Kundasang. Food was average; expensive. Insects made deafening noise all the time. Temperature was not much cooler here. For those who have been to other tea plantations before. I suggest you skip this one. Not worth the 1 hour drive.

Very very crowded, place is small .. a tourist attraction like this should be bigger. We were super hungry and if we wanted to eat we would have waited for hours. Ended up just buying drinks take away. Nonetheless, view is amazing so do visit but eat first then visit if you have tight schedule. And i really hope they expand the next time we visit.

A really nice to place to just have your afternoon tea. The actual tea factory was closed when I was there. But I managed to walk around the plantation and actually see workers doing their jobs. Nice people around. The restaurant however is open for business. My family and I had our tea and desserts there. The ice cream doesn't taste that good. Maybe it's made out of tea but their fried banana fritters is awesome.

It was raining and the crowd at the restaurant was huge. Had to wait for about 10 minutes to be seated. Food was great and the prices are typical resort prices. The scenery around was beautiful and photography-worthy.

Only the teas were good. Pucuk paku was alright, nothing special. Chicken soup was tasteless (pls avoid). Waffles were too dense and no green tea taste. Crepes were quite tasteless.

It was a nice place to relax and we used this place to relax before Mount Kinabalu climb. Quiet area far from main road. With magnificent panoramas and tea farms.

Sabah Tea Resort offers a scenic view of tea plantations, but it lacks insight into the tea-making process. The focus seems to be more on the restaurant and picturesque views. Visitors have the option to rent ethnic Sabah costumes and explore the ranch, but it comes at an additional cost. To enhance the experience, it would be beneficial for the resort to provide information on the tea production process, along with galleries and historical insights for a more enriching visit.

The place is not up keep very well. Food is not great for the price they charge. No need to purposely add this place to your trip

Have different flavour of tea 🫖 set to try on, have snacks as well too. Come here for the view of tea field with Mt Kinabalu behind. Temp here isn’t as cold as Cameron as it’s not situated on the mountain area but the low pass.

The view is Ok only. Green tea waffle is too dense and firm with no topping / spread inside. It was only provided with honey. It tastes very plain. The banana fritters are not cooked adequately, soggy. So the inside of the banana is very raw. The tuna sandwich has very little tuna inside. So frustrated with the food. I think only the tea is recommended. Do choose your food wisely.

A nice place to stop by having a cup of tea. For those tea lover do not miss this area. Next to it is the Sandakan Death March War Memorial ...

We went there around 5PM for early dinner. The food is nice and might be quite pricey for some people. I get to see the Mt Kinabalu here as well while eating.

Amazing service from Grace and Aggie. Aggie stayed till 8pm for our late check-in and was still cheerful and hospitable. Highly recommended place, love the nature and the cool breeze. Near poring hot springs parks. Definitely go for the canopy walk nearby!

Nice room, we Stayed 3 nights but didn't buy tickets to use hotspring & canopy, too crowded & closes too early at 4pm. It would have been better if hotspring can be opened to resort guests in evening.

Me and my family stayed one night at this place. Let me start by saying that the place itself is gorgeous and very homey. We had the Palm Villa (double storey) which fits about 6 adults (honestly more). The best thing about this place is the staff, they were so very accommodating and nice! From the receptionist to the restaurant staff and the security guard, they were all nice and bent over backwards to ensure that we had a delightful stay. The second best thing would be the breakfast, and my goodness the breakfast was divine! Its definitely not the typical buffet style (except for coffee/tea & toasts), we would have to choose food from the menu and they would serve it to us. I honestly would come back here for the breakfast! Last but not least was the epic hot springs which was just a mere 5 mins walk from the Palm Villa itself. We had the chance to explore the butterfly farm, the canopy walk (amazing view at the top!), and the waterfall. Definitely worth staying here and would come back again :)

Superb resort with superb location that has plenty of activities to do. Dining at night time a bit limited as cafes outside the resort close quite early. You can still dine in or has food delivered using the resort's restaurant. The riverside lodge we stayed located right next to the river with easy access to other attractions such as hot spring water, canopy walk, mini water park, mini butterfly park & waterfall. Definitely will come again.

When in Kota Kinabalu, its a worth the 2.5 to 3 hour drive to Sutera sanctuary lodges, Poring Hot Spring. The accommodations are well nestled in the natural tropical vegetation. The rooms are clean and hygienic. It's more then enjoying the Hot Springs, as you have several other activities Canopy Walks, etc importantly you enjoy the peace and serenity, in an environment fringed by massive trees and bamboos. The one restaurant Rainforest has a great ambience and tastefully furnished. They serve wine and beer and good food. The other restaurants you read in the reviews just opposite from this resort are no comparison, in terms of ambience, furnishings, beverages offering, menu selection etc. You should try their local dishes, especially Rainforest Combo: grilled chicken pieces marinated with Torch Ginger, grilled tenggeri fish a local version of mackerel with wild mago, local greens : papaya flowers with tapioca leaves, steamed Sabah red Hill rice, crackers, all served in portions on a rattan platter, lined with banana leaf. However having stayed here for four nights the fish is not mackerel all the time, I complained and was told they were short of mackerel.,so do check when you order. I have been climbed Mt. Kinabalu three times in the late 1990's but now I see many positive developments in Sabah. The staff at every touch point are very helpful and make your stay enjoyable.

PROS: - Located next to Poring Hot Spring, Ranau - Great place to enjoy the nature - Warm welcome by receptionists - Guest is served with welcome drink - Great explanation about the place upon arrival by the receptionist - Lodge tour upon arrival by the receptionist - The lodge is well prepared once the guess is arrived - Car can be parked very near, next to the lodge, I love it! - After a while of arrival (and the next day, maybe it'll be continued on daily basis, depends on how many days guest will stay there) the manager called to greet and ask if there's any deficiency which was superb! - I love the place at night when there's no other visitors, very calm, can hear the sound of river flows and sometimes the insects - Huge lodge - The lodge is equipped with clear Astro Channel, mini bar, umbrellas, some reading books, different sizes of pillows, kettle, hair dryer, iron, 2 sofas, barbeque pit - The breakfast was good, it's ala carte at RM28 - The restaurant staffs service is great CONS: - Handheld bidet sprayer in the lodge bathroom is broken, need replacement - Aircon is not cold enough - Dog can get inside the lodge area, at the verandah - No extra lock at the door - No torch is provided (seems like this place tends to have power cut, during my stay it happened 2 times for seconds but for precaution, it would be great to have a torch. I encountered the same problem during my first stay at this place which was happened due to storm) - Need to improve on maintenance aspect

Stayed here for one night at river lodge. It is right next to the poring hot spring park. Nice to stay here as you can have a quick shower or nice bath after your morning exercise. The room is clean and spacious. What I liked most is the large living area for the whole family to play games and enjoy snacks. The complimentary breakfast is ala carte so you can order American style big breakfast, Chinese porridge, fish soup or local nasi lemak. The service staff is nice and polite ( they found my kindle that I left in the room and contacted me immediately to arrange for delivery).

I stayed at Palm Villa for one night with family. The villa was so big and a bit far from the pool and restaurant, but it was still acceptable, and we enjoyed our stay here.

Lovely resort, if you are looking to be away from the busy Kundasang / Ranau town. There are a lot of nature activties from hot spring, hiking and conservation parks. However, the food quality (and quantity) can be further improved. Since it is a bit remote, stock up some food and tidbits in case you are hungry in midst of the night.

WOW! What a cool experience! Stayed in the Jungle Lodge for 1 night following hiking and camping the park and finishing the day with an hour soak in the Poring Hot Springs. Pros: - Adorable lodge with a superb shower (amazing water pressure!) and an awesome bathtub. - Outdoor and indoor seating area is great for kicking back and even having friends over if you came in a group - Best location inside the National Park Cons: - Food is TERRIBLE. Like... really, really terrible. They could do so much better if they had a real chef and trained waitstaff. - A bucket of ice took half an hour to receive. You could walk to a shop and back in that time! - Nothing much around that area at night. You're really kind of stuck there, so that's also a bummer if the restaurant sucks. Overall: I'd definitely stay there again if their food was better. The ambience, location and comfort after a long day of hiking is pretty terrific!

More than the serenity of the rooms is the charming hospitality of the staff. Special mention to Aaron and Aggi for assisting us with a change of hotels along with a lunch voucher. True Sabahan Hospitality.

The rooms is clean, comfortable and smells fresh. The beds are made nicely and the surprising thing is it is firm and has a soft topper so it' feels amazing. The comforter is also soft and warm, it is difficult to leave the bed on a rainy day. The 2 nights I spent there, it rained both days. The location of the rooms are close enough to the park entrance and car park. The only bad thing is that there is no wifi Cceas though it is possible to get telco network and possible to get all the rooms wifi. The reception and the restaurant were supposedly supposed to have wifi as well, but they didn't always have any network. Service, while friendly, was wanting at the reception. Right from the get go, I mentioned that i would check out before 7am on the day of check out and yet there wasn't anyone on duty. I was initially charged the tourist tax despite being a non-tourist. But Alice at the restaurant and the security helped me contact my driver because I had no telco network nor working wifi. While the rooms have room Service, ironically, there is no phone you can use to contact the restaurant. I placed an order with reception on the first day and then directly with the restaurant on the 2nd. Sadly, the restaurant forgot and had to be reminded to deliver after I had to leave the room to send a reminder. While there are these hiccups, I would still come by again. The park and the lodges are located far away so the location isn't so great in that respect but that's where the Geopark.

Came for the canopy walk, it took us about an hour to complete the whole route. It offers a great view but the canopy is VERY high up and it is quite shakey when you walk on it which is not great for those with fear of heights. Similarly the trail has ALOT of stairs like steps.

Overall, I felt satisfy with my stay at Sutera Sanctuary Lodges at Poring Hot Spring, the best overnight stay you can get at this area. This is what I think about the pros and cons on stay here: Pros: 1) room is clean & toilet is big 2) staff is friendly and helpful 3) value for money 4) forest sound 5) located next to Poring Hot Spring Cons: 1) lack of night activity 2) no wifi and phone line is poor

Lots of fruits and vegetables stalls. All fresh and quite cheap. Now is Durian season, eat them at their stalls. Delicious and yummy. Nice experience

A place high in the mountains, with the breeze in your hair, great value if vegetables and fruits and snacks at your fingertips.

At an elevation of almost 1,900m , Kundasang is the highest settlement in Malaysia, and among other things, it’s renowned for its fruit and vegetable market……..so a great spot to stock up on some amazing tropical fruit snacks. I’m also quite sure it’s the only place I’ll ever see giant cabbage statues adorning the roundabouts. Don't forget to snap photo and enjoy the fresh fruit and vegetables because it is really cheap.

A cosy town centre where the locals come to do their shopping. There's even a KFC here. But not much to see other than that.

Kundasang Market(KRT) Open every week from thursday until sunday. Here, they selling lots of stuff. Food, toys, bundle and many more. If u coming to kundasang, dont forget to visit Kundasang Market..

There is alot of flowers to buy and durian fruits it's the best day to buy.

There are morning and night market at the same place. Morning mostly sell vegetables, fruits and flower whereas there are more food selling at evening. But cant expect the market would be as big as those in town.

1- One of the biggest market in Kundasang area. got varieties of fresh veggies and fruits. 2- I tried the strawberry here and it was good. 3- they got many flowers shop as well

A nice market to see many fruits and flowers/plants and some could only be found in North Borneo. Wish I had more time to explore this market.

Red durian @Kundasangmarket I will give the market place 4stars for variety and items sold from local rice from the hills, vegetables, unique fruits and plants. That would be a different post… This review is for durian. We were looking for specifically RED FLESH durian. Please don’t waste your money unless it is a MUST HAVE or on your bucket list. Wild durians were about RM3 a fruit at stalls at one of the rest areas as it has about 2 or 3 seeds a year back. That was 2021 🤔😱 This time, we tried the red flesh durian. Wasn’t even fully ripe and with only one seed! Inflated price indeed and not worth it. A total disappointment. The wild yellow orange one was better with a slight tinge of cempedak like flavour. Kampung durian taste better! This post is for durian lovers ya…
