Compared to other food in Taiwan, Hsinchu didn’t live up to my expectations

Have you tried one of the most famous Taiwanese Night Market food ? You have to try this one “ Oyster 🦪 Omelette “ it is not just traditional Oyster Omelette but it is a very unique Crispy Omelette:) This is perfect 🤩 and fresh , I have tried so many oyster omelette in Taiwan But now this is my Favorite ❤️ if you like spicy flavor !! You have to tell the chef that you want to add the chili 🌶️ souce 😍😍wow !!! So Good !! Moreover such big amount of oyster 🦪 omelette which is a lot bigger than my face😄 only costs 80 NTD(2.5 USD)

Finally I came here since I’ve been Hsinchu for more than a year. A very famous night market in Hsinchu which surrounds the temple itself. It’s quite crowded but it’s good to experience it once. You can also visit the temple

A fun destination for dinner with many stalls and vendors to choose from for soups, noodles, cakes and more. There are lots of shops as well, but they seem to close by dinner time, when food takes over. Then there's the beautiful temple buried in the heart of it all. Overall a really nice destination in Hsinchu.

A not so big night market. But it is place which sells Hsinchu famous food, mee fen, fried oyster, "Gan" ball etc It is located outside the temple, and about 10min walk from HsinChu TRA station.

It’s a traditional and old temple. Many people come and make a wish. Temple is always a important place for Chinese people. Therefore, there are a lot of peddlers. So,it just like a night market around temple. If you have a chance go , you can try oysters omelette or pork ball soup. Both of them are famous street food here. There will be so many people at dinner time, if you would like to have dinner there you had better to get there earlier and line up in advance. Except this ,this is a good place for family travel.

Nice and exotic food ( almost no one speaks English:)

The temple experience has been vivid, with many locals praying in the various shrines. The market was so-so on a weekday.

One of the temples I visit when I am in Taiwan. The food stalls are too touristy. You can find better quality food around Sinchu and zhubei.

This is one of the must-see attractions if you are in Hsinchu, which is not saying much. It is much like a night market except it only sells food, closes early, and has a temple attached.....But there are stands, small eateries and sitting spaces and the vibe is similar if you catch my drift. It is a very cultural experience. They sometimes have events there like a Hakka pig butchering or a lion dance. It's wonderful and you can smell the sweet incense from the mall. The toilets are back there and they are clean enough as far as night market bathrooms go. You can get all the Hsinchu staples here, vermicelli, pork balls, squid soup, oyster pancakes, and crystal meat balls stamped with different red shapes depending on the stall or flavors. They also have other specialty foods like fried black water caltrop, fried taro balls, fresh herbal tea. Highly recommend!

Smaller than the famous night markets in Taiwan but it does the job if you like the Taiwanese food. Many small stalls presenting the variety of food. Its clean and hygienic as usual. Nearby places and streets are worth the stroll. Lovely scenes and beautiful locations. Better to rent the YouBike bicycle and roam around, you will fall in love with it.

This temple is definitely on the list of place to visit if you are traveling to discover Hsinchu. Despite being old and full of history, this temple has interesting design and it's usually quite lively. But the surrounding scene, full of local restaurants, just a few steps away from the main altar, is surprisingly funny. It's like a "Let's pray for whatever we believe or expect, and then, let's enjoy some local food speciality to celebrate it".

We ate here en route to 清境农场 (Cingjing a.k.a. Qingjing Farm). Lunch venue was at this shop" 王家蚵仔煎" located in the vicinity of Hsinchu's City God Temple inside sort of an alleyway lined with food stalls selling the city's all-time favourite and old-time flavours such as Hsinchu rice vermicelli (新竹米粉), fish balls and pork balls (魚丸, 贡丸). The duck egg pancakes sold along the streets were also delicious. We bought 4 pieces for NT$30. The jam is home-made; there's chocolate, custard, lemon, red bean and plain as filling options for those pancakes. This night market operates earlier than most other night markets found in Taiwan but the stalls are not as many as the rest.

Nice place with good assortment of seafood in the wet market. Also a plenty of choices for food.

Good place to visit. Very scenic. But at night there aren't enough lights and it gets too dark.

Do you enjoy strolling along the ocean? Do you love seafood ? If you're looking for a place to spend your lovely weekend in the afternoon, then I highly recommend the Nanliao Fishery Harbor. If you love seafood you must go there, in the fish market, in the market you can shop for any ingredients you need for dinner. You don't feel like to cook for dinner tonight? Lucky you! There are numbers of restaurants that serves seafood in the second floor! You think the harbor is so boring, and it's only for people who loves seafood? Then you're wrong! Beside the harbor, there's a large square where people usually fly their kites. You can see different kinds of kites flying in the sky, thanks to the strong wind, this place is a paradise for kite lovers. If you're a bike lover, you can also enjoy your ride along the coastline, and it's not far from the 17 Kilometers Splendid Coastline Cycling Path. What are you waiting for! Go and enjoy your afternoon!

A zoo in Hsinchu, a small scale zoo only. Not too far away from the railway station, about 10 minutes walk from the station. Spending about an hour in the zoo is more than enough. The animals inside seems not very active and some of them looks quite old. The entry fee is not expensive, it cost around NTWD$45 for an adult ticket while buy it in apps.

Good place for kids to enjoy their day! But I was disappointed and heartbroken with living condition of animals. They were dirty and filthy. Small place with lots of greenish. There is open day market near to zoo, a great place to try local food!

It is a very good and very clean designed zoo. We like this zoo very much. However, we just wait for parking today which takes 30 minutes.

There is not much here. The living environment doesn't seem that great for the animals. There aren't many animals either. But remember it is government-run. On the plus side, I was able to buy a cheap Formosan black bear wallet at the gift shop. It's something to do when you are already in the area. I came here after running at the Hsinchu County stadium to walk it off. Then, I went to the Flower market beside it.

Nice lovely zoo, which got recently a complete new makeover. I really can recommend that place!

It’s a pretty small zoo that u can spend 1hr to finish the exhibitions, pretty cute and cosy environment to take a relaxing walk. Good cp value

Hsinchu zoo, great place for family travel.

I know zoos are not the holiest of places. This zoo, however, is well maintained, the animals have decent amounts of space, they look healthy, and most of them are in numbers and do not live in isolation. It is a good place to spend half a day on a weekend to be with family or friends. It is very convenient and friendly for people's different needs. It may be a small zoo but it is good fun. It is super affordable (50 dollars) and convenient (pay through Easy Card) too.

Entrance fee is very cheap, good and clean zoo, but not too many animal inside. But you still can enjoy it. Its better come on sunday. Just the beside the hsinchu zoo there's a food street and afternoon market.

Hsinchu Zoo is a lovely place to visit, especially with kids. Since the renovation in 2019 there is more space available for visitors and each animal. The new layout is really excellent and you can get up close to see the animals. Visiting is always super enjoyable - There is lots to see!

Usually a place where a Filipino go for pageant practice because of the mirror along its way. Very hot during summer and no cover but in the afternoon it's was awesome to do some dance activity or whatever you like. Many people Usually here

Enjoyed watching the sunset near the east gate. Also enjoyed the fashion district and claw machines places.

A historical landmark in Hsinchu

Nice place to drop by if you're nearby. There is a large underpass where teenagers practice dancing at night, complete with sockets for public use. You can cross the massive roundabout using the underpass instead of having to battle the cars and scooters. A neat historic monument to check out.

I like this place, from the photo there's a cheap steak house just above the Giordano store. So many food to choose from, my only complaint is that it has so small room and few table good for couple, and 4-6 group of people. During peak hours you have to wait because theres a long qeue.

I was on a business trip and this was very close to my hotel. Located on a roundabout but sunk into the ground, it was once the entrance to the city.

Amazing historical site, and a nice evening walk in the park.

It is nice place inside the city to have a little trek and have the feeling of dense forests. The early morning time is quite beautiful with birds chirping. As the name says it has different peaks where you can enjoy the scenic view of the city. A lot of senior citizens come to this place for morning activities. Overall good place for daily refreshment. Regarding facilities in this place: 1. No entry fees 2. Parking facilities for both scooter and cars. 3. Restrooms and drinking water supply on top of the mountain is available. 4. It has Payphone service near to the drinking water station also.

Good place to walk in the evening. You can take either steps or the road to reach the peak. The view of Hsinchu from peak is beautiful

This is a must visit when you come to Hsinchu. The museum is in a nice building near the zoo. The exhibit consisted of the most exquisite, beautiful glass art object collection I have ever seen. 100x better than the ones they try to sell you at the “art” glass stores. This place needs to get more publicity so more people can enjoy the glass works. The entrance fee of 50 TWD is a steal.

The exhibitions was smaller than expected. Entrance fee of NT$50 for non local. Staff friendly and explained the exhibitions on the 1st floor. A workshop on site for visitors to see how the glass pieces were made.

Fabulous All kinds of glass art works from Japan and Taiwan. Special exhibitions in 1F are most impressived for us. It introduces all kinds of glass art process in the video in 2F. Really valuable to watch.

And when you see is very interesting. But you should definitely check out the glass studio it's right nearby.
