Lots of space to wonder around outside. Inside is a bit more congested, but expected at a market. The food options outside are great. All the vendors are friendly without being pushy whatsoever. I went with my 5 year old and we loved our outing. Pictures of a bouquet purchased while there.

The farmers market is great. We stopped in for Saturday brunch and some shopping. Everything was so delicious. Make sure you have cash to purchase from the vendors. We had to stop by the ATM at the front - which was very convenient if you forgot your money at home.

Awesome businesses! Bought from a knitting shop. Businesses were all very nice and well curated. Lots of space to sit and everything Attached is what I bought.

Not all vendors take pride in their makings like the two pictured here (blueberry folks and Community). I bought a croissant from inside the building and it had the texture and rigidity of a two day old bakery item — I could have enjoyed a soft, buttery one for 1/10th the price at the local member warehouse. I won’t be back to that baker. The Community are excellent producers of products. I had the privilege of being educated in maple syrup and bought three bottles! When the shortages are obvious next year (2023), I’m buying from these folks.

Quaint market loaded with vendors. Loved the variety of food and crafts. The diversity of customers and vendors was amazing. Such a great place to spend a Saturday morning. I could picture myself walking to the market every weekend if I lived in Fredericton.

Great place to pickup up your food essentials! You can find everything from fresh meat, fish, vegetables, and more. (Pro tip! Many vendors only take cash, make sure to get some before the market or you'll be paying atm fees) Beyond that, there are lots of vendors selling non-food items like earrings, toys, and wooden crafts. Once you have done all that shopping sit down for a delicious breakfast!

I love this market. It really is the quintessential farmer's market. It's grown slightly over the years and remains the best place in town to get local goods each weekend. They have a new restaurant serving breakfast now for the first time in I don't know how many years. I believe Chef Rick got his own spot. This new one, Ready To Eat, was very different. Less comfort food diner style and more of gourmand style. This definitely caters to either the upscale older person or the younger hipster crowd as the prices are a bit higher due to the focus on quality, local and unique combinations of ingredients. The flavours on the Breakfast Burger were vibrant and unexpected. The char on the burger patty paired nicely with the very sweet bacon jam. The only thing I would say is that I would have liked to see a few more smaller options for breakfast as I'm not usually the type to eat a lot in the morning. That said, the market has plenty of grab and go snacks and baked goods along with about a half a dozen food trucks.

Always a treat! Try as they might, other markets cannot compare. The regular vendors offer fresh, local meat, cheese, eggs, produce, bread, drinks, treats, crafts and more. I don't know what I enjoy more, spending my money here once a week or not leaving it at a big box store. The quality doesn't compare. It's a real gem in our city, gotta make this a weekly thing if you can!

Absolutely a must go if you are visiting Fredericton! Only open Saturday so plan accordingly. Lots of local fruit, vegetables, meats, cheeses and other items. Several bakeries too. I only get to go there when I'm on vacation, but if I lived there I'd be there every weekend!

My top suggestion of things to do when visiting Fredericton! We stopped by to stock up before our cottage weekend and got some amazing produce & cheese. There was also a good selection of food trucks outside with amazing churros

A very solid and professional art gallery for its size with great exhibits. So glad it has been reopened. I found the mask exhibit very intriguing. I do wish a cafe were available there though.

Fantastic artwork of a crow made out of tires on the outside entrance to the gallery. Fantastic! We just missed touring the gallery as it was closed temporarily, but the art on the outside of the building is enough to bring us back for another look.

Interesting, varied collection. Just the right size for about an hour and a half for a family (preteen and teen kids) to see everything. The gallery is clean and a great value. Highlights were the Andy Warhol and Salvador Dali!

This has always been a wonderful gallery, and the new wing is a perfect addition. Lots of room for temporary exhibits, and a visiting artist studio open to visitors of the gallery. There is a trendy coffee shop in the new addition. The website offers all kinds of workshops and presentations. The Dali has been moved, and looks much smaller in its new location in the gallery. The new space is incredibly lovely and peaceful.

A lovely gallery. I enjoyed the art. There are lockers (no food or bottles/liquid in the gallery), restrooms, a nice gift shop, and a small cafe on site. There are ~7 rooms. You start with the Canadian artists, move on to international, up and coming artists, and then Dali. We went on Thursday evening, which happened to be a 'donate what you can' evening.

We stopped by the Beaverbrook Art Gallery for the Gallery hop during Frostival and we really liked it! Good art displays - both from local and national artists. The lady at the front desk was really helpful on providing info and directions to the lockers where we could store our stuffs. While the visit was overall good, we didnt really like the attitude of the security guards. We were rudely told by one of the guards to not touch the art display when we clearly were NOT and we felt constantly followed.

What a changes this gallery has expanded greatly since I was last here as a child. The artists, exhibits, and styles are diverse. Even though it may seem small at first, you can easily spend a couple of hours here if you take your time. It has a cafe, outdoor sculptures surrounding the property, a small gift shop and two levels of galleries. Note, you can't bring food or drink into the galleries.

The exhibits change periodically in certain locations but all the artwork is fascinating to view. Featuring both local artists from the region in the near present and also the past centuries. International artists' paintings are a great touch and some come from the Renaissance era in Europe. If you want a guided tour you can talk to the knowledgeable gallery curator. The only reason this gallery does not get a five-star is one of the security guards followed me throughout the time I was there, slightly stinted an otherwise enjoyable time at the gallery. I still will return.

OMG , this art gallery was amazing! The guide was fun and the entire tour was great to be a part of with fun anecdotes and talks.

My partner and I liked the art, and the price is reasonable, too. There is a discount for students, and they sell souvenirs.

Beautiful art gallery, went on a Friday morning around 11, and it was not busy. The only down side, you have security breathing down your neck. My husband and I were enjoying looking at the beautiful art pieces, and we had a security come over and tell us to move back from the painting. I was shocked and a little upset. We were respecting the art pieces and minding our own business. I know they have a job, but I felt like we were being watched because we are a younger looking couple. Hopefully, they will tell the guards to chill and let people enjoy the artwork.

A must visit in Fredricton! Mind blowing to have such a nice art collection in a small city. Make sure to check the Salvador Dali collection.

We were staying at Hilton Gardens, about 5 minutes walk. We went twice in a 6 day visit to Fredericton. Friday evening about 6 ish. There was an event occupying about 1/2 of the gallery we were not allowed to vist, but we got to see the gallery collection of masters and some modern art. They have a surprisingly broad collection of Reynolds, Constable, Group of Seven, Carr, 14th century works as well as a Monkman with Chief Eagletesticle, current events, interactive work and more. We spent 2 hours including an Artist's talk in the basement discussing his 3d animation work. A couple of days later we went back to see the half we missed and it was just as impressive. Mostly more modern works by people I haven't heard of (which means nothing, I am not particularly knowledgeable about modern art) but there dies seem to be emphasis on Canadian work. I was particularly interested in the first nations work, an exhibition of Kentucky Asheville looked remarkably related to the Woodland Style of Norway Morrisseau I am more familiar with being from the prairies. The cafe was very good too. Nice place for a cuppa while you rested up a bit. They had a menu item called Cream Egg, which I assumed was some sort of sweet treat (thinking of Cadbury Eggs) but turned out to be a nice hot and filling soup. Sort of like a potato and bacon chowder served over a soft boiled egg. Really good and a very adequate lunch. We were there during the eclipse of 2024 so there were also family related artsy activities for families and visitors on Sunday which were fun too. All in all, I would recommend a visit, and since I only get to Fredericton infrequently I will make sure to visit every time as the content constantly changes

Beautiful collection, friendly and welcoming staff. Spend just over an hour there but could have been there for longer if you wanted to spend a bit more time. If you are stopping in Fredricton, certainly worth checking out!

Some interesting pieces, particularly those creates by Mikmaq and Wolastoqiyik artists. I'd like to see more of a focus on NB artists in the capital region. Complete and utter lack of Acadian representation.

It has 3+km trail. There is a small area for kids to play. It spreads over 300+ acre and gives a feeling of a forest in the middle of the town.

It is a beautiful park where kids can play and have fun with the Slides in the park. Adults can picnic here as well. There are trails in the woods to walk in and be close to nature. There is a water fountain and a pond for beautiful fishes.

This is a great park in Southside it's very big with many amenities. Definitely a great place to relax alone, with family/friends or children.

Gorgeous park to take a stroll, or a run or take your dog out for a walk. Lush green trees and beautiful nature to explore. They have ample of parking spots. They also have various benches along the sides and have amazing barbecue spot. Great spot for get together with friends or family during summer. Also has a small fountain ⛲️ within the park which is beautiful. Very calm and peaceful. Definitely recommended for your daily stroll or run!

Probably one of the nicest parks in and near Fredericton. Odell Park is rather large - there's many main trails (some in gravel or mulch), with very nice trees and shrubs. To the western side, there's the Fredericton botanical garden that is very well maintained and worth going through. Depending on the season, this can be a mosquito and fly infestation - so come prepared!

A very green park right on in the middle of city. Good place to just walk around or stay relaxing ... enjoy bonding times with kids, meal time or some kinds of fun group activity.

Moved to Fredericton in January this year and just recently found Odell Park. It’s quickly become our favourite place to take a hike. We just love the peaceful and clean trails. Highly recommend this spot for the entire family.

We recently had my son's birthday party at Science East and it was a great experience! The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The children really enjoyed the science activity and exploring the museum. We noticed quite a few of the exhibits were out of order or needed repairs, however. Hopefully they get some TLC soon!

Filled to the brim with neat, scientific things for all to learn, this place is the perfect location to go to when it comes to all sorts of education. The fact it is what used to be a prison is very interesting and fascinating.

Really enjoyable place' the stuff was so nice, we went for the Halloween hunted house, it was our first time there, and we will definitely come back with the kids. Spent about 2 hours there and enjoyed every second.

Science East is not to be compared to Science North or ON Science Centre. Science East has repurposed a jail with a children’s science hands on exhibits. Very children friendly , designed for 10 and under. The exhibits were traditional and would be informative and interesting for children. An upgrade incorporating the 21th c Web based science would be appreciated however keep the children’s theme. A name addition adding “Children’ in the title would stop the disappointment of travellers expecting a North/ON Science Centre experience. The limiting factor is the Jail … all in all a delightful experience for an adult who was expecting an East Children Science Centre . The coolest experience was the heat sensor camera.

A gem of hands on learning. My seven and ten year olds really enjoyed themselves, we spent two and a half hours exploring the three floors of puzzles and displays. The prison museum in the basement seemed an odd juxtaposition, but was tied in through DNA evidence. The demos in the lobby were the highlight, special thanks to Amiel. Not nearly the scope of Science North, but we'll worth the visit on a rainy afternoon for $10 an adult and $6.50 a student or child.

Absolutely the best bday spot. Staff is super helpful and kind. Will Absolutely be having another birthday here. Entertaining for everyone :)

A wonderful place for a child’s birthday party!

My son had a birthday party there on the weekend. He and his friends had a great time. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

I wish it was bigger, but all in all my son absolutely loves this place. Parking is not great, and the ownership and staff really need to crack down on market goers using their parking lot on weekends because it makes it impossible to visit and attend programs at the location when the parking is all consumed by them.

Science East is incredible! There are so many amazing interactive displays as well as so much history related to the Science East building. I highly recommend a visit to Science East.

We are from Northern Ontario and have close access to Science North in Sudbury - a very expansive science centre. Not going to lie - on our trip out East, when we pulled up to Science East in Fredericton and saw how small it was on the outside, we were pretty apprehensive. All concerns were washed away when we went inside. For the small space they have, they’ve done an AMAZING job. I loved how interactive everything was - everyone in my family (including a teen and a tween) had a great time trying everything out, and every corner of every room was used for some type of experiment to try. The old jail features were also really cool and doubles as a history museum. It was definitely worth the stop on a rainy day of a road trip!

If you've been to Science North, Montreal's Science Centre, or Boston's Science Centre you'll find that this is underwhelming. The exhibitions are often out of order and the opportunities to learn are neglected. There jail exhibition is one-and-done in 15 minutes. I would spend the $10 fee on a snack and a walk in Odell Park, it will be significantly more impactful than anything this place claims to offer.

We went to Science East during their Halloween themed weekend with our 9 year old daughter. We loved everything there but the best part of the tour was the science show. The gentleman was so entertaining and funny and at the same time explained everything that was happening. It was really interesting and a lot of fun!

We visited in June. Most exhibits were broken and very dirty. They seem to be running a day camp and children were laying on the floor all over the place unattended. Disappointed by how run down and absolutely filthy it was, we left after 10 minutes. The jail section in the basement was just info on pieces of paper taped to the wall.

I went with 3 friends. We had the Mac and cheese, the beef taco, burrito bowl and tuna poke bowl. The portions were very small and lacking flavor. The beef taco was soggy. The tuna poke bowl was very small and lacked flavor. Kinda tasted like soap. I was over all disappointed. If you want a drink on the river, this place has a nice atmosphere. Just avoid the food. Many better places to eat that are better. Also they no longer have flat bread of the week.

We had horrible service here. I am not one to complain about service staff, as my partner and I have a combined 15+ years in the service industry. We understand what it means to be slammed, for mistakes to happen, and to have unreasonable customers. However, the service we had here tonight was some of our worst ever. To start, we waited an hour and half for our food from the time we ordered. This may have been more tolerable if they had at least gotten us our appetizer (bread and hummus) at any point rather than with the main course. At the 60 minute mark we contemplated just leaving, but we had ordered drinks to start and did not want to dine and dash. We came to regret this. It felt like we were being held hostage by our food order. Sometime during our wait, we asked for more water (not wanting to order more drinks because it had way too long already). At this point, the server gave all the customers around us water despite that we had specifically requested it. We tried to flag the server but even when we did she would only avoid us. At the 90 minute mark we got out food. Admittedly, it was tough to be upset because the poke bowl and the taco was quite good (the hummus not so much. Despite not wanting to, we complained to the server about who spoke with their supervisor. We were compensated 20% off. Honestly, I wish we would have just left early after the drinks. It would have saved us the money and the time. We love to support local businesses but this experience made it hard for us to want to come back. Good atmosphere though.

I was in a group of 5 friends and our drinks took ages to be served. When we ordered food, it took another half hour for the server to inform us that there was no beef left in the kitchen to prepare our sandwiches. Some of us just cancelled our orders and decided to eat elsewhere (at least they didn't charge us for the drinks). It is sad that a place with such a nice view has such poor service. 😐

It's a cool spot to sit and have a drink!!! Food is really good and I do suggest the nachos! A little expensive but I mean, it's a patio restaurant attached to a lighthouse by the river downtown Fredericton. It's worth it.

Fun place! The views are definitely a highlight, and the location is charming. Food was good, I got a virgin Pina colada plus a poke bowl. A touch much vinegar in the poke, but nothing deal breaking. Service was excellent and timely. It's a touch more expensive for just food, but keep in mind it's a novelty restaurant, and as a complete package, it's certainly worth it. Would recommend!

We tried the panzanella and tuna nicoise salads - not very tasty. Both salads were doused in the vinaigrette and the croutons were so hard and chewy. It’s called a panzanella salad but there was hardly any mozzarella in there. We also had to wait for quite a long time before getting our food! It’s so sad that a place with such a nice river view has such poor service!

Enjoyed the tuna nicoise salad and the lobster roll. The patio facing the river is lovely.

Pretty decent spot for patio food; it's part of the 540 chain. Would recommend better posting hours / days that it's open, as often find that it's closed.

This place is really just a casual BBQ burger / hot dog restaurant plus beer and ice cream. Very nice patio to sit on overlooking the river. Burger was great. Great choice of craft beer, cider and mead. We didn't go up the top of the lighthouse as the view from the deck is very similar.

Nice setting, no idea how any of the food or drink is because we sat for around 1/2 an hour and were completely ignored by all the servers. We were acknowledged when we arrived, told we could sit anywhere so we picked a table and sat down. 3,4, maybe 5 new groups came in and servers brought menus to their tables immediately. After about 15 minutes I went over and asked for menus and said we’ve been here awhile and nobody has come over to our table so they gave us 2 and then ignored us for another 15 minutes so we left. Will never come back.

Beautifully preserved historic residence of the Lt Gov of New Brunswick. Hosts events on a regular basis which give the public an opportunity to see the art works and artefacts on display. The grounds host the Highland Games each summer.

Surprisingly delightful little gem of where the lieutenant governor works and you can visit the first 2 floors. The people who work here including the security guard are just absolutely delightful and friendly and it's really good to see a little corner dedicated to the Indigenous population. The library section is great to see what books were around in the late 1800s and early 1900s. With free parking and a thoroughly nice exhibit, it's a nice place to visit

It is such a privilege to be invited to a reception at her Honours' home. It is a fantastically beautiful house with so much history, wonderful light and space and lovely people!

I attended the highland games here. Place is very beautiful. Lots of greenery. From grass to large trees to seek shade in.

Spent an evening here at a private event. Nice mouldings and interesting period decor. I was fond of the library.

Beautiful building with very nice architecture. I have never been inside the building but looks very nice from the outside. The building is situated on a large fenced ground next to the trail. Makes a nice view on an evening walk.
