This place lights up in an amazing way during Christmas time. Nice place to hangout with friends/kids/family. Spacious area to play around during other seasons. Good to just take a walk or with your pet too just to feel the nature.

They’ve been killing it with the revamp of this place. Just need to keep on top of maintenance and ensure that the animal enclosures stay well kept and treated nicely. A couple more small food vendors would be a nice touch as well maybe ?

An amazing place , to hang out for a couple of hours ,  good attraction for lovers of nature. Lot of fun and beautiful. Love coming here to clear my mind / stress. There are lots of comfortable benches around and plenty of space to accomodate a large number of people. An incredible place to wander around. A peaceful atmosphere . Simply find a quiet to relax and distraction of stress. One of the best park with awesome natural beauty and scenes , not too far from several locations to grab a bite to eat !

Great place to go for a walk on the trails. Good place for kids. There is miniature horses, donkeys and llamas as well as some peacocks that come out after the winter may 24 weekend.

Nice little park, with a variety of areas for different interests. There was still construction going on when I visited, but hopefully it'll be done soon. Good spot for a walk around the small lake, especially with the new boardwalks over the water almost finished. Lots of parking.

This is my go to place with my wife in summers. Beautiful park with a big cricket playing ground and now also a lake and fountains. Great place to relax with plenty of parking space.

Beautiful park. I visited in mid July so it was nice and sunny. People cycle, skate board and go walking here. There is a heritage site within the park. Overall a great place to unwind and relax or study. 💯/💯 There's peacocks too 😍

Beautiful place in spring, it seems that during winter it is even more beautiful. You can ride a bike or walk. The lake is under maintenance but you can still see ducks swimming.

A calming, embalming and tranquil experience. Spent an entire afternoon beside the lake, watching the lake and the geese. Took a walk around and saw some birds playing in the waterfall. There are lots of comfortable benches around and plenty of space to accommodate a large number of people. Also took a walk on the wooden bridge and in the geese filled gardens and observed lovely flowers sprouting out. I loved the purple hyacinths 🪻 They have such a sweet scent.

It's a lovely park with rolling hills, climbing equipment, ample places to sit and have a picnic and some farm animals (donkeys). There are lots of geese and wildlife. They used to have peacocks and other farm animals but those living areas have not been maintained and are empty. Overall a nice place to just sit, relax and read a book.

This is a 5-star park. Perfect very big with lots of trails for walking and biking. Lots of shaded seating areas among the trees and little zoo with domestic animals. It has couple small playing grounds for kids as well.

Visiting Waterloo park was best experience. We went there after 7pm so we were lucky to catch this lightings and sparkling things. It has free entry. The fountain ⛲️ was the main attraction there. We were not able to cover everything in the park but we went to famous lightning and musical seesaws. Everyone was enjoying with family there. Place is very calm and fresh. It was very mesmerizing how the lake side area was looking at night.

Beautiful park. Nice for long walk. There is small canal which runs across the park. Huge ground area to run around and enjoy natures beauty. Loved it!

I have many good memories walking through this park. I like the path around the lake and the trails through the woods. There are some nice flowering trees which are so peaceful to sit under in the summer.

I've usually considered Waterloo Park to be one of the better parks in the region. With the recent renovations by the lake it remains near the top. The boardwalks and small "sand" beach (not swimmable) provide a nice location to walk through and explore. There are bike/walking lanes, it's the ION station and not too far from several locations to grab a bite to eat.

Only remaining covered bridge in Ontario according to the sign. Picturesque scenery surrounding the bridge. Parking available at Leston Park located at 1232 Rivers Edge Dr. There’s a Lost Acre Variety store on the other end of the bridge if you need some refreshments. There used to be a small gift shop in a wood building right by the bridge but it closed last year. Sad it I didn’t make it through the pandemic. It’s not a very pretty bridge but it’s a cool stop if your in the area and like bridges or history.

Beautiful hidden gem! It's an amazing piece of history. From movie scenes filmed here to the timeless travels throughout the years. I highly recommend you check out the last remaining covered bridge in Ontario. Don't forget to stop at the corner store while you're here! (Cash only).

A small covered and old bridge, and beautiful scenery around the grand river, close to the city of Waterloo. It was good if they put a sign and tell the visitors about the story of the bridge and why it's been called "Kissing Bridge"? There was a cute small store there with innovative signs that I liked. Seeing Amish people with their horses and carriages could give you a sense of being in a movie! :)

I with some friends visiting St Jacob's market and train ride. We finished early and I still wanted to do something more so I searched online to see what was in the area and West Montrose covered came up. So we went to check it out it was cool to learn the history behind it. I really enjoyed

Fun fact! Scenes from the movie IT were filmed here. It's a great little spot for film buffs to snap some pics for nostalgia. It's also significant as the last covered bridge in Ontario and one of the oldest in Canada but double check that info. Now this is a small spot to visit. Lots of private property spaces with appropriate signage to let you know. Not a place for big family visits or big day trips. But it's a great little spot for local history buffs and film buffs.

A very nice place to visit, it looks like one of the bridge in the movie Bridges of Madison county. It is for a quick visit because parking is somewhat hard to find. It's a good change of scenery, the river under it looks calm and the surrounding houses looks like a picture in a postcard . If you are in the village of Woolwich particularly Montrose, don't hesitate to drive for a quick visit, on your way home, you'll see a variety store called Lost Acre, go pop in and try their homemade baked goods, jams and maple syrup, bring cash though.

An amazing historical covered bridge (known as the kissing bridge). The bridge is functional and it's nice to enjoy the historical drive through it along the river

A unique covered bridge that you cannot find anywhere else in Ontario since it is the last one in the province. I would highly recommend stopping by if you are doing a road trip in Southwestern Ontario, whether for Stratford, KW region, or Elora/Fergus. You can't help but admire the engineering and beauty of the structure. It's an excellent photo spot but you should be aware of the cars coming in and out. It is kind of wobbly as you drive through the bridge across the Grand River. Please park your vehicle at Letson Park (free), which is only 1 minute walk from the bridge. I met a beautiful and friendly tabby cat, "Sandy" that most likely lives nearby. Please be careful when you drive and say hi to her when you visit!

I discovered this bridge while browsing the Mennonite Story store in St Jacobs, so I set out to look for it. The bridge is located in a tranquil small town in such a lovely area that is perfect for a sunny summer day. There are a few parking spaces near both ends of the bridge, across from the Lost Acre Variety Store on one end and at Letson Park on the other end. Although you could drive across the bridge, it’s nicer in my opinion to park your car and walk across the bridge – just beware of traffic because the interior of the bridge is quite dark and not very well maintained, with spiderwebs all across the ceiling, although one could also say that that adds to its historic vibe. You could take photos from the outside and take a short walk on the road along the river, although the areas immediately around the bridge are private property and you cannot access the river. It’s a cool place, being the only remaining covered bridge in Ontario after all, and worth visiting if you’re in the area!

It felt awesome just to drive through. I think this is the only one left so it's like experiencing a piece of history

Compare to modern bridge, which basically just a road across river without and decorations, such kind of old bridge with cover on it is more beautiful in my point of view.

A fun activity for young kids, to see Santa, and have a ride on an old train. The staff are entertaining. It's better if you go with a group of 4 or 8 so you can have the seating all together for your group.

The ride was super slow (10 km/ hour) and boring We just saw trees, grass, broken train, and a river for and hour and a half. It’s not worth it, even the market farm was closed (although it was weekend) The only nice thing was the rain staff

If this was a frequent commuter rail service and not just a tourist attraction, I would definitely rate it higher. But for the price, its definitely not worth it. Scenery is great and overall a nice family trip, but just too expensive.

I recently had the privilege of taking the Christmas Train by Waterloo Central Railway and it was an unforgettable experience. The train was beautifully decorated with lights, garlands, and festive decorations that immediately put me in the holiday spirit. The ride itself was delightful, with carolers singing classic Christmas songs, and hot cocoa and cookies available for purchase. The scenery along the route was breathtaking, with snow-covered trees and twinkling lights creating a truly magical atmosphere. The staff was top-notch, always friendly and accommodating, and they went above and beyond to make sure everyone was comfortable and enjoying themselves. They made a special effort to interact with the children on board, adding to the festive atmosphere and ensuring that everyone had a memorable experience. In addition to the train ride, we could participate in a variety of other holiday-themed activities. This was the perfect way to get into the holiday spirit and it was a treat for children and adults alike. It was a magical experience that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a fun and festive way to get into the holiday spirit. Whether you're a train enthusiast, a family looking for a special holiday outing, or simply someone who loves the holiday season, the Christmas Train is sure to bring a smile to your face and a warm feeling to your heart.

Amazing! A must for family bucket list. Went on the Thanksgiving steam special. It's an enjoyable experience for all ages. The train staff were so friendly and they really make the experience that much more enjoyable. The tickets you purchase go towards keeping these events going and the trains in working order. The staff are all volunteers! Worth every penny!

It's really about being more entertaining inside. For example, the tour guide visits every car instead of using the speakers with the microphone and we couldn't even hear him then. The sight is just the river and the rest is nature if you love nature. They should have better music, serve tea or coffee, dress like old-fashioned at least this way you get your money worth. Other than that, if you never took the train and you want to contribute to the Waterloo train station, then get on board.

Little pricey for adults when it's all about the kids but my daughter had soo much fun (she's 3), that it was well worth it. Staff were super friendly and made her feel so special. Seeing Santa and Barbie were her favourite things and asked to go again, like it was an amusement ride. Will definitely have to go again. Thank you to the staff on caboose 2, Nov 24th, 2023. Good time meeting Santa and his helpers. The experience was good but felt like something was missing. It’s interactive with live entertainment. Worth the time if you are in the vicinity and doing other activities

Went there with the grandkids. Great wild west experience via an older type model working historic railway that works! Ride is slow from St Jacob's to Elmira and back. Probably 1.5 hrs on the train, 2hrs total including the suggested 20 min for the pre-departure. Complete with galloping horses and riders with cowboy hats and csl guns. Great for kids 4-10. The CEO was kind enough to give us a tour of the carriages and the train. It was a nice surprise! Thanks

In winter, it's a calm and peaceful spot for a quiet walk. It's a bit disappointing that there's no water, but I still love going there every day.

Nice little park close to the universities, bike, hike, swim, or kayak. (Bring your own) all venues are still closed. Get out and get some sun. Plenty of parking, bathrooms available.

Although the parking right at the beach is closed this time of year, we were able to park by the lake-view pavilion and carry our kayaks down to the beach. It was just about a half hour paddle around the reservoir with clear water and lovely views, and it was clean and lovely at the little beach too! Entry fee was about $5 per person for the day. What a beautiful getaway without leaving town.

It was nice and well kept. Wish the sites had more privacy but they are spaced nicely about in certain areas. We went on 1 hiking trail and it was nice, cleared away and clean and a lovely walk. The water was nice to look out onto, next time I'll check out the water more. November-Sadly the camping sites and certain areas aren't accessible but many of the trails are. Sites just opened and it looks amazing there right now. Bought a kayak so I'm excited to check out the waters.

Great place for people in Waterloo who don't want to travel too far for the beach experience. Been here in the summer, winter and fall. Nice place to hike, it's an oasis in the middle of the city. Only downside is we didn't find toilets close to the beach, only saw some porta potties and that is dicey :(

About $8 per adult. Went on Canada day (July 1) — around 5pm. Lots of empty parking spots. Not packed at all — except the beach. The beach was a little crowded. The trails were really nice. The park was well maintained and the signage was helpful. Make sure to use bug spray! Staff at the entrance was nice (and proactively offered a map). :) I recommend this park.

This is great place for camping or day activity at the park. Unlike other parks, the entrance fee is per person instead of per car. They also provide canoe rentals. It’s very easy process to get canoes.

I had membership and we went there with my family members for a picnic. At the gates I asked the girl to let my children in, who were in my brother's car. She demanded that they need to be in your car as you are the membership cardholder (it lets 6 people to enter the place for a day) to be let in. I said in Guelph they didn't make it trouble for us the same request. She insisted them to get out and seat in my car. But that white girl let other man/white driver in for free and with no membership, who told her that he needs to walk his doggy. I complained to the white manager, who had the same manners, so my children had to leave their cousins to get into my vehicle to enter that place. After picnic I found that they had a chance to scratch the bumper of my car for arguing with them. I hope they both will suffer for being racist.

The conservation area is great, the beach is small. But, it is a great place to spend a day with friends and family. ❤️

I was here today, but I've been here previously too - including a year ago, a few times. The park is not bad for walking a few trails, enjoying nature. If you are in Waterloo - no need to drive to a far away lake or park area. Google Maps currently does not show the trail map - hmmm, I believe they did a year ago. But you can find the detailed PDF map online. Now for the bad stuff. The lake shore near the designated swimming area is covered with (dog?) excrement. I am talking about the beach area not far from a parking lot. You really have to watch your step - they are all over the place. I am talking about the wide grassy area where many tables and benches are, not the sand area right next to water. I do not remember seeing this last year... I was randomly selected for Covid testing at the airport so went to shoppers drug mart at Conestoga mall to get it done. It houses a cinema, handful of restaurants, clothing stores, telecommunications stores, TD bank and a host of other businesses. Couldn’t explore more cos I had a very long day.

A good place to have some leisure time with little kids in the winter. Good variety of shops, including a big grocery (Zehrs), a modern theater (Galaxy), an ok food court, and a warm and welcoming vibe.

Since moving to Canada, I am grateful and appreciative of how Canadians act and respect one another, in public, especially in a shared space like a mall, store or food court, which enhances our mutual experiences! This mall has it all from a Supermarket, a department store, an Apple store and many specialty food, clothing and cosmetics options to keep you busy and of course helps you easily spend money. Let’s not forget the food court, which offers Fries, Burgers, Sushi, salads, Greek and middle eastern choices. One of my favorites is California Thai, where all of the ingredients and finished items are on display in an appealing fashion, making your selection difficult, but rewarding in the final analysis.

Great mall - lots of selection. Has a nespresso store if you're into great coffee. They've done a good job of handling COVID guidelines throughout the past couple years. I imagine it's not easy working here every day, so I treat the mall/store workers with extra respect.

You gotta stay open till midnight by adding extra staff. Owner believe, you will thank me later. Lot of foreigners around the area are looking to get “Intense Mall Experiences” and they would make the majority, if you decide to open up till midnight. Even one day a week will double up your salary! Don’t worry about staffing payments you will understand once you let your fear go!

My first time there. Love that everything is on one floor. Lots of great shops to choose from. We went to Journeys looking for a specific shoe. The young man who helped us was great. I left with 2 pairs!

I always visit a specific mall when I go shopping. It's the best one around with a good selection of stores, comfortable seating areas, a decent food court, and clean restrooms. Additionally, it has a grocery store, Zehrs, and other big stores like Cineplex and Best Buy nearby. The mall also has ample parking.

It's very clean and well maintained. Decent amount of washrooms that are well spread out, with very accommodating family washrooms for those with little ones or special needs. Food court has a few gems in there as well if you're looking for more than a sandwich or burger place.

Great experience, went with my child's school field trip. The staff were knowledgeable about the different materials and methods used. Created a clay pinch pot, painted it, and now we can check back in a few weeks once they've fired it in the kiln. Many different types of art on display. Pieces that vary in size from a couple inches square, right up to human sized pieces. They have many different vases, teapots, and other jar like items. Tiles, plates, serving platters, abstract art, and more!

The Canadian Clay and Glass Gallery is a true gem! The rotating exhibitions constantly surprise and inspire me with their amazing artworks. It's a joy to see the new pieces every time I visit. I love how they provide a drop-by section, especially for kids, where they can showcase their creativity. The gallery offers paper and color pencils, making it easy for everyone to participate. The current theme of "design your own fairy tea set" was a delightful experience, and I had a great time crafting my own creation (attached picture). What's even better is that this museum is always free for the public! It's incredible how they prioritize accessibility and ensure that art is available to all. The Canadian Clay and Glass Gallery is a must-visit for art enthusiasts and families alike. With its ever-changing exhibitions, creative opportunities, and commitment to inclusivity, it's a place where imagination comes to life.

This is a really unique and interesting place. Its free, I put money in the donation box anyway. There was a variety of things made with glass from vases, jewelry, lighting, sculptures and aboriginal creations too. It's 1-2 hours depending on how close you want.to check things out. Also found out they have a variety of creative programs you can check out on their website. Cool place.

Great place! The clay classes are like yoga for the brain. I definitely recommend booking a class for making your own sculpture with a date, friends, or with the fam. Plus a great staff!

This is a fantastic little gallery. My daughter came here for a weeklong camp and she had a great time. The staff was friendly and encouraging, provided guidance, but also gave a lot of freedom to create whatever they wanted. At the end of the week, the kids got to bring in their family to show off what they had worked on, which was nice. There's a nice gift shop too, with a lot of beautiful pieces you can bring home, though they are pricey, as you would expect. Great place for a short visit, or to sign up kids for art camp.

Hard to rate a free gallery anything less than 5. For lovers of the arts there is lots to sink your teeth into. The exhibit was interesting and provocative. The displays were set-up well and helpful information was easily accessible. The venue was not too busy and staff were helpful. When it comes time for the giftshop you best hope your budget is hundreds of dollars because art isn't cheap.

After having been going to the gift shop for years, I finally toured the gallery when we visited for a work team building event. Loved every minute of it. Such amazing work in the galley, would love to take something home! Then we did a little clay hand building together at that was a load of fun. I would absolutely book a night there with our team again!

Always welcome, and I love the atmosphere. Free admissions and a huge gift shop. Parking at the site can be tricky, but lots within walking distance. Go see extraordinary local artists' work or take a class yourself.

What a wonderful, beautiful place. Admission is free! There is a lovely gift shop where things are reasonably priced. I strongly recommend a trip. It only takes about 45 minutes to do the entire gallery

This is a small gallery. The exhibition was rose windows, and an exhibition 21 pillows. Both exhibitions complimented each other. Walking thru the gift shop was exquisite. In there the light came thru various pieces. Admission is free, but donations are gratefully accepted at the door.
