Always love going here and one of the best things about Omaha, and a must-see if you're not from here! The desert dome is perfect to go in when it's beginning of Spring or in Fall time honestly due to it getting so hot. My boyfriend and I walked the whole zoo in about half a day, being able to enjoy everything and this was when it was still under construction, about mid March. He is from California and says he's likes this zoo way more than San Diego Zoo. We are currently planning to go back sometime, its great experience and exercise! Recently went with my nanny kids too and they always have a blast when going, mainly stayed in the area with the small 'town' , as they call it, popcorn was great and staff was friendly and quick. A must see is always the aquarium, I will never get over the amazing tunnel of ocean above my head, my nanny kids were happy to see turtles in there. Thanks for being a great zoo and I can't wait to take my kids someday here.

This was our first time visiting Henry Doorly Zoo and it's the best zoo I've ever been to. There is so much to see and do. We enjoyed riding the carousel and train. It was 97° during our visit and the Alaskan Adventure splash park was a fun end to our day. We loved the Butterfly Pavilion, Desert Dome, Scott Aquarium, and Lied Jungle. Make sure to pack water and snacks as the food is not cheap! Overall, a wonderful experience!

Everyone said you have to check out world class zoo here in Omaha. The experience was good. But when you hyped up about the zoo, you will compare to DC Smithsonian or St. Louis Zoo. I think those are a bit better. So not to take away from the hard working people at the zoo. They offer various sights for animals. But because the was so hot most outdoor animals were not so active. The combining of aquarium and zoo together was a good idea. This is a whole day event for family. As we walked in, there’s no security checking any bags , so you can bring everything into the zoo. Restrooms were in need of improving. The smell of restrooms are ever present around the area. And additional fee apply for feeding giraffes, riding skylift over safari sections and other activities. If you come in early , recommend going to south entrance(main entrance). There were a lot of parking and all free.

The Lied Jungle is probably the coolest area. Be sure to check it out early as it closes at 4 pm. The desert dome is cool, but a very minimal number of animals are actually there. They built a desert inside to make it look authentic. I'd say that's what makes omaha zoo so unique. It's not actually that big, and they don't have a ton of animals, but they did a good job of recreating different environments in which the animals would live. The aquarium is okay. Part of it was closed when we were there, so we didn't get to experience the whole thing. The train is cool, but you can't really see any of the animals while riding it because of all the brush overgrowth. You do have to pay extra for the train ride. The Sea Lion training was neat, but be sure to get there early. The seats fill up fast.

The zoo is fantastic. We've been to many zoos throughout the US and abroad, this one ranks up there with the best ones. The grounds are massive and covering all the exhibits in one day would be challenging. Especially if you have kids with you, then forget about it and just enjoy what you can get to. The elephant wing and grounds are really good and seeing the babies there was incredible. The steam train was also really fun and a must do. The gorilla pavilion is really cool and well put together. I'm not a big fan of looking at the gorillas because you can clearly see the sadness and sorrow in their eyes... It's sad to see them in captivity.

We love this zoo! we have the passes and they are absolutely worth it! In just 2 visits they pay for themselves! This zoo allows you to bring in your own food and drink which is just the best and lets us really enjoy the day without cutting it in half as there is just SO much to see!

Absolutely beautiful zoo. Plenty of walking area. Even though it was a rainy day they were misters that are probably amazing in the summer for those hot days. My boyfriend told me they also have splash pads they open in the summer. They were also accommodating for the cold, all the animals were still in viewing areas just brought inside which I’ve never seen at a zoo. Not to mention the aquarium and butterfly garden. Both out of this world some of the best exhibits I’ve ever seen

This is the best zoo experience I’ve ever had. You walk in to each of the sections and it’s like you’re in there with them! All the birds flying around, the monkeys, and otters, and many more are right there! Seeing gorillas in person for the first time was just wild. The aquarium was fun, and just as good as Ripleys. The night time area was the coolest. Walking around on these docks in the dark, hearing and seeing all these animals splashing and moving around you. To top it all off, we saw the tiger. Since we came in winter, we only got to see half the experience, but we will try to return again in summer to see everything!

Absolutely loved the facility. We didn't get to see a lot of the animals we wanted to since we went on a really windy day and went kind of late. Arrived around 1 pm and they close at 6. In the 5 hrs we did get to see a good amount still though. I would recommend going earlier in the day and with a little warmer weather. So much to do and do much to see so make sure you go in the morning if you can. We had a great time still, I'd definitely take the family back if it wasn't a 2 ½ hr drive for us.

The most incredible zoo meant for all ages. Free parking. $25 entrance fee for adults, kids two and under free. Beautiful and well kept. We went on a Saturday during peak hours and saw the Apes, Aquarium, the Jungle, creatures of the night. There is so much to enjoy here. Little nooks to get up close. Plenty of spots to sit down as you’re walking around.

I can easily see why they are overall one of the best zoos in the United States. From the time you enter until the time you leave the customer service is about a 9. If you're having a problem at the kiosk some will walk right over and help you. Most of the exhibits are indoors so you can't really complain about the heat unless you're just a miserable person. The food is definitely over price so make sure you bring a lunch. Make sure you read the signs on the way to the butterfly area it clearly States no strollers are allowed so a lot of people hold the lineup removing kids from the strollers. Just don't go with a bunch of lazy lobsters that want to sit down the whole trip because they do block the view of the kids trying to see the animals. If I lived in Omaha I would definitely have a zoo membership. I enjoyed my trip so I hope you enjoy yours

We loved our day at the zoo! It’s a long walk but totally worth it. The zoo is clean, organized and safe for visitors. The kids (and adults!) were entertained all day. We were impressed at how close we got to some of the animals, especially the tiger and the alligators. Pro tip: the dome has a basement! We missed the stairway the first time through!

This is an amazing zoo.I have been to quite a few zoo's around the US as that is what me and my wife do every anniversary, we visit a zoo or aquarium in a different state each year. I have to say you can spend two days here, the Desert Dome is awesome, and while on the sky safari I gave my wife a new wedding ring set. It was breathtaking. Thank you Omaha Zoo

Absolutely amazing zoo and attractions! Our family spent 3 full days there. We took our time, and saw the entire zoo. This was the first time taking our kids there and they were immersed in everything the entire time. Each day, they were disappointed to have to leave. We bought a membership, that happened to line up with member appreciation week, and it was well worth it. We went on a Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday and the crowd wasn't bad. We are already planning another trip!

I used to come here all the time and it has been about 5 years since I was last here. Normally, this place is 5/5 for me. However, with all of the construction inside the zoo and about 50% of the animals present, it’s a 3/5. You’ll find many exhibits are closed and some of the animals missing from the smaller buildings. It doesn’t help that the two food trucks and most of the restaurants were either closed and only sold drinks/chips. I went on a Friday afternoon. Admission prices should be less if they have less to offer the public. Basically a ghost town once you get inside. I recommend not coming here this year.

This zoo is amazing!!! On cold weather days, you still have so many animal enclosures to visit indoors, you can easily stay warm. And on warm days there are plenty of exhibits to see as well. There's a reason this zoo was ranked #1 in all 3 categories last year! Fantastic job @OmahaHenryDoorlyZoo

We didn't make the time to get through the whole zoo due to time, but this zoo is absolutely one of the nicest zoos I've ever been to. The building with the elephants inside, the building with the apes and the dome (especially the underground portion) was an excellent experience. If I ever go back to Omaha for a visit, I'll have to finish my trek through the zoo. I have been to a handful of zoos across the country, but have never been to one with an underground section mimicking a bat cave with stalagmites/etc., a swamp and more. It was so cool. I only wish I had more time to spend seeing the rest of the zoo. We happened to be there when the sea lions were getting fed too which was fun to see. Some of the zookeepers had them do tricks for us.

For the price and the hype for "world top ranked zoo", I expected better. Water bowls in many enclosures were very murky, the size of enclosures seemed too small in certain areas (especially in the Desert Dome) and many of the animals looked way too depressed (especially the gorillas and tigers). The Desert Dome was the most disappointing. For such a large dome, the animals were in small enclosures wrapped with netting, and the interior design of the landscape in the dome was just underutilizing the size of the dome, which makes me wonder if the design of the dome just for flexing from the outside. I also definitely did not see 1000+ species of animals as advertised on websites, plus there were a lot of the same animals in different zones. Food options were also terrible for a top ranked zoo. I've visited many other zoos with less to no cost and still had better animal exhibits, much more species of animals, management, and food options (like the free St Louis Zoo, Smithsonian Zoo, Kansas City Zoo and Seattle's Woodland Zoo). Makes me wonder where the $25 per person money goes too.... Despite that, putting the status and price aside, I was still able to have a wonderful time at the zoo. The close experiences with the giraffe and elephant families were an unforgettable experience. Kinda bumped that the Forest Trial was closed during my visit, but the Lied Forest was my favorite exhibit, with an amazing replica of a tropical environment. The zoo can be fully explored within a day if you don't have kids with you and if you fully spend the opening hours in the zoo. I also recommend bringing your own food for lunch.

Often considered one of the best zoo's in the nation and rightly so. This zoo is absolutely top notch. The dessert dome and accompanied cave exhibit under ground are superb. Tons of animal exhibits and a pristine park. Plenty of family friendly restrooms and kid activities to keep the young ones, and parents happy. Every exhibit is a unique experience, don't expect to see it all in one day.

This place is amazing! Being from Orlando and having all the theme parks out expectations tend to be low when visiting places like this BUT let me tell you this place is amazing! We got to 95%of the exhibits in a day but it was tough but worth it! All of the animals were so active and felt so close to you even the lions and tiger! If you like baseball don't miss the wiffle ball field in the parking lot! Great day of memories made, hopefully we'll make it back another time!

My family voted this was not the #1 zoo that we have been too. It was a great day and we had fun, however the train had a long wait and then once we got on we saw no animals except maybe a couple and then saw a bunch of the back of the zoo. During this train ride they had to fill up so that took time too. Just walking around we hardly saw any animals. Inside the buildings we did see quite a bit but still feel like it was lacking. Our favorite part was the giraffe feeding and the sky lift.

Best Zoo, hands down, that we have been to. Everything is spaced out well. You will definitely get your steps in! The day we went, we got to see almost everything. Missed out on the lions and tigers, but got to see favorites like the giraffes and elephants! We spent about 3 hours there. Food establishments were all open, and service everywhere was great. The only problem we had was that there could be more signage as we lost our way a couple of times.

A truly wonderful zoo! You’ll enjoy the diversity of animals and keep in mind you’ll be doing a lot of walking! The aquarium with shark + sea turtle tunnel is a great rest out of the sun. Can buy food inside or bring your own. Really nice gift shop as well and great outing for couples or families. Don’t miss the giraffes (you can even feed them) or the monkeys in Lied Jungle. The gorilla center is top notch too.

I went to the zoo with my girlfriend during the Christmas festival and had a great time. We enjoyed walking around looking at the Christmas lights and hearing Christmas music. We also got to go through the aquarium and kingdom of the night while we were there. The animals are very active at night! Very cool and only $23 to get in. We had a great time. Highly recommend.

We had an absolutely fantastic time here! There is some really cool exhibit design and very interesting species on display. I really liked walking through building with different biomes. I always like free-flying birds and there were some free-flying bats as well! In fact, there were more bat species on display here than any other zoo I've been to. Snakes are always of particular interest to me as someone who works with wildlife and has been working with snakes for 10 years. I was excited to see the Santa Catalina Island rattlesnake here! We all grinned ear to ear seeing beavers since they aren't common in zoos and listening to the staff sitting and feeding them talk about how they're cared for. Lots of arthropods are on display, including a butterfly house, and the aquarium was so fun to walk though too.

There's a reason this is one of the highest rated zoos in the United States. There is so much to do. If you are planning to come during the weekend or summer, it's busy. If you come during the off season, you'll be able to get through the park in one day, but some attractions will be closed. The food is great, the park is clean, the bathrooms are clean, and the animals are clearly well taken care of.

It advertises itself as the nation's best zoo. I haven't been to enough to confirm or deny it, but I did enjoy my time here. Just be prepared; there is a LOT of walking involved. You can rent a stroller, wheelchair, or motorized cart for the day at what seemed to be reasonable prices. The Lied Jungle was my favorite of the attractions, with the Desert Dome a close second. The aquarium was interesting, but the only thing that stands out is the tunnel in which fish will swim overhead. It is a short tunnel. The animals seemed taken care of, and most seemed to be in appropriate sized enclosures. The gift shop was largely stuffed animals, as expected for a place for kids. Additionally, they have these pins you can purchase for exactly a dollar. They're large and have an animal on them, I chose the tiger, but they have several options. Personally I thought security was lacking. To get in, my friend and I merely showed our code on our phones, which they scanned and let us in. No metal detectors, no codes for purses or backpacks. While this makes entering faster, it did make me concerned. Just keep that in mind. We went on a Saturday (early April, so summer exhibits arent open), so the place was packed with people and children. That said, the lines for everything moved fast and we could see whatever animals we wanted, crowd or no crowd. Don't let the weekend masses deter you.

Loved this zoo. We went on a Sunday and will return on a Thursday to finish. You need more than a day to get through this zoo even if you rush it. Beautiful zoo so worth going you won’t be disappointed. The dessert dome was awesome.

I really like this zoo. It's environmental friendly and there is animals from all over the world. I would definitely recommend this as number 1 zoo. It's so big you can't visit it in one day. The aquarium is spectacular; you can walk under sharks! There is volunteering opportunities for those fourth grade and up.

My family and I loved this zoo. Our favorite animals were the snow leopards, everything in the aquarium, the giraffes, gorilla, and tiger. The butterfly exhibit was beautiful. The jungle was amazing. I thought it definitely lived up to its reputation. We went through in about 4 hours stopping for a lunch we brought in ourselves. The longest wait we had was about 20 minutes to buy our tickets to get in. Once you are on the loop, there is really no way to cut through to the entrance again. This is true for the desert dome as well. You are committed to the loop. Maybe if the train is running, it's different, but we were there before the train season. Same for the aviary. I highly recommend this zoo!

I'm from California and have gone to the LA Zoo and San Diego Zoo. The San Diego Zoo has always been my favorite of the two. This Zoo is just as good as the San Diego Zoo if not better. It's a large size with plenty to see and do. Unfortunately, on this specific trip there was quite a few Exhibits closed either for construction and/or for the season. Overall, a great Zoo to visit that will easily take the whole day to look at all the Exhibits and more if the kids area is open and you have little kids to play.

Super cool pedestrian bridge with great views of the river and downtown Omaha. Some creative signage adds to the charm of this place. Worth making the effort to run or walk to.

Really a cool bridge, great walk over and back. We were there for the marathon, so lots of encouragement for those running. Very pretty area. It is gorgeous at night! Cool park on the Iowa side.

The Bob Kerry pedestrian bridge is fun for any age. Want to get up and go for a morning run with a view? Want to tell your coworkers you ran to another state for lunch? Stand between two states, see Omar the troll, learn some history along the way.

I love this pedestrian Bridge. It is especially pretty at night with the lights on. There is a small parking lot next to the bridge that tends to get filled up pretty fast. There's no overflow parking lot so be aware. There's a marker on bridge for stateline between Iowa and Nebraska slightly beyond the half-mark point. There's some information and fun facts about the river and fishes on the bridge, which is also pretty cool.

I love walking across this bridge. There is a cool troll at the bottom the bride and the coolest thing I'd in the middle you can have one foot in Iowa and one foot in Nebraska. On the Iowa side there is a cool silver statue of a guy and a pelican play ground.

I enjoyed walking the bridge and seeing the art, but the coolest part was standing over the river with one foot in Nebraska and one foot in Iowa!

Wonderful pedestrian bridge. It is very convenient to travel on foot to another state😉 A very popular place among tourists. There is a point on the bridge where you can be at the same time in Nebraska and Iowa👍 Great place to visit 💯

Always one of me and my daughters favorite places to just get out and get some fresh air and go for a nice walk! Looks so different during winter but still so many cool sights to see! I highly recommend this place for a good sunset or in this case great shots of the moon!

Beautiful place to take kids or thought special someone. There is a splash pad for the kids during the day and at night the lights are something to see. The river is so beautiful from all of ours views and it cost zero dollars! Plus you can get some exercise and have one foot in Nebraska and one in Iowa. Neat place I highly recommend.

Bridge was pleasant to walk across. It was not very busy for a Saturday midday. The views up and down the River are probably some of the best you will find along the Missouri short of being on a boat.

Awesome experience both day and night. If you enjoy modern architecture this is definitely a place to check out. The bridge is a suspension bridge so you can feel movement.

The Nebraska side of the bridge is very calm and relaxing when we went around 430-5PM on a weekend. The bridge is nice and an easy walk. There is a semi-steep income if you're starting in Nebraska. I did not walk all the way to the end of the bridge in Iowa. There are electric bikes on the Nebraska side that you can rent and are allowed on the bridge. There's signage around the area explaining the importance of the area which I enjoyed to read. Overall a very great area to visit. The place is safe, clean and friendly!

It is a really nice hike, and you can walk from one state to another. Which I thought was really cool. The views of the Missouri River are unreal. If you go, say hi to Omar, the troll for me.

We came to the bridge over the weekend and had a blast. It's really quite the structure. The walk was pleasant even though it was chilly. We loved the Omar statue. It was adorable. We "bobbed" and got some really good photos from the bridge. And there is a really cool playground on the Iowa side of it.

Beautiful pedestrian bridge, even more beautiful at night! Easy access for all and great views. You can park at Lewis and Clark visitor center or street parking near bridge entrance on Omaha side. Definitely worth checking Bob The Bridge out.

This location offered a beautiful view of the Missouri River and a pleasant morning walk. The bridge had a refreshing breeze when I crossed it that morning and it was amazing. Another fun detail was the dividing line between the states of Iowa and Nebraska. That made for some fun photo shenanigans. At various points on the bridge, there were different placards displaying various bits of Native American culture and history. Unfortunately, I didn’t have any pictures of those. I didn’t stay for long but it was a nice place for a little relaxation.

The Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge boasts a nice, brisk, 10-15 walk from either Nebraska or Iowa to the other. It crosses the Missouri River. I walked from the Nebraska side to the Iowa side. On the banks of Iowa were a few people fishing and a few logs shattered about to sit on to view the water and cabled Bridge. The Bridge is near other attractions (Illuminarium and parks). Great place to jog, check/hang out on a nice day. The highlight is being able to straddle the Stateline on Nebraska and Iowa.

Such a beautiful colorful bridge. At night it’s a very peaceful walk across the Missouri River from Nebraska to Iowa. Such a pretty view of Downtown Omaha when you are on Iowas side. You might want to bring a jacket when the temperature drops at night. I haven’t been here during the day but I will most definitely be back!

Extremely nice. Lots to see. Very well kept. Very interesting exhibits. The building itself is just a gem, Wonderful architecture. It was quiet, not many people around so we could take our time and see all the exhibits at our own pace. It was a wonderful afternoon, a couple of hours well spent. The history is just beautifully represented. It's laid out very efficiently, the trains are absolutely astounding. You can walk on them and sit in them. They are a treasure in and of themselves. The entire day was a big A+++....... Air conditioned, quiet, and the price was very reasonable for seniors. It was very reasonable for everybody actually. I highly recommend spending a few hours at the Durham museum, it's well worth the time and the money. Plenty of free parking, and again the building is just astounding, the outside architecture is also very beautiful...

Fun, quick, local history museum with beautiful interior. The “soda fountain” cafe is fun too, and the staff is friendly and enthusiastic. We’ve been several times, but just came for the Julia Child exhibit which was awesome and a well installed/curated. We were also here in October and the Halloween decorations were so fun!

What a great museum!! We drove over 300 miles just to see the "White Christmas" exhibit, but enjoyed the entire experience. I didn't think that I would be interested in Omaha history, but they made it all fascinating. The old train station is just beautiful, and I could sit and look up at that ceiling all day. Great job!! I have been telling everyone that I know to spend an afternoon there, and I will definitely be back.

Really nice. The displays are so interesting, the building itself is a gem. Not crowded, nicely laid out. Quiet......the terminal is awesome, a wonderful example of the grand architecture of the times. The entry fee is fair, a discount for seniors. I truly recommend the Durham museum for a few hours of interesting education.....

Nice, smaller museum in a historic railroad building. Architecture and design are interesting. The special exhibits that are featured several times a year are always chosen so there's really something of interest for everyone. I recently enjoyed the Downton Abbey costume exhibit with a friend, and will return at a later date with my mom, know she'll love it. Enjoyed more than one really cool dinosaur exhibit over the years! They also have a nice gift shop with a wide variety of merchandise. Recommended!

I photographed a wedding a the Durham Museum and it was such a stunning venue with so many unique features. The staff was helpful and professional, the Museum made for a spacious and classy venue with several different spots for the events of the day (lower level for cocktail hour, upper level for dinner and separate space for dancing). Mary, the coordinator was so supportive, informative, and helpful of any needs that came up. Can't wait to capture more wedding days at the Durham!

Great place for seasonal/rotating art displays and the train is always fun to walk through. The history of Omaha is very in depth elsewhere. We enjoy grabbing a float or malt on the way out to wrap the day up. These pictures were from the Lego and lunchbox exhibits.

Housed in the old train station, this museum is a fun stop for all ages. Lots of trains (both model size and originals you can walk through), history of Nebraska through the ages, and enjoyable temporary exhibits, including currently Lego towers of the world and history of lunchboxes. It’s next-door to the new Amtrak station (so you can see active trains going by out the window at certain times) and is just a short walk from downtown. Walk in and head downstairs straight away for the main sights - have a blast!

Great museum with a variety of attractions! Train cars to explore, old cars, and Omaha history. The architecture in the old depot is wonderful too. I only had time for a quick visit, but would love to return for a more detailed look.

This is by far one of the many unique places in Omaha to visit. Train station and a museum that has been well kept and just looks stunning inside. Just to think 10,000 people would walk in and out of their daily back when it was functioning was just wow. The museum itself has so much history. I loved the exhibits, White Christmas & Julia Child. Almost a dream to see both up close. I have watched the movie since I was a kid and now 37 it was just so awesome to see the outfits and other items they had from the movie. Julia Child's exhibit was just as awesome. I would highly recommend seeing these exhibits before it's done. Plan to spend a few hours looking at everything and walking through the trains/caboose.

The Durham Museum The museum is dedicated to preserving and displaying the history of the United States western region. The museum is housed in Omaha's former Union Station. This a very unique, educational place to visit Well worth a visit

This is a gem of a place in Omaha. The building itself is an exhibit and very well kept. This building is from 1930s and maintained really well. Most of the exhibits are original and has historical significance. The place is usually less crowded and one would have plenty of time to study and go through all the exhibits. The locomotives and train cars are very well kept and will make you think about how our ancestors lived their life. Bonus: Although this place is in downtown, parking is completely free and it's right in front of the building.

This museum is near and dear to our families hearts. We spent countless hours when the kids were toddlers and my dad who has since passed and he dragged his feet at first for our family outings. It was pure chaos. Every other weekend on Sunday’s was our family day. We would spoil all three children and it was a memory I will never forget. I believe they are working hard to restore the station and make it better than ever. I give kudos to everyone who makes this museum a well oiled machine. From my family to yours, have fun and spend a Sunday or Saturday here. You will not leave disappointed.

Beautiful building! Great museum! Great place to learn a little history about Omaha. Everything was vintage inside the museum which is super cool! Lego exhibit great for the kids. Soda fountain was good experience for us. Staffs were friendly!

Always a great family experience. Having their family pass makes it affordable to visit all the displays. The trains are always a hit to travel back in time. Toytopia is great for adults and kids.

This historical museum was a very pleasant surprise! The beautifully preserved station is impressive, but the museum itself is also quite spacious. There are numerous train cars to explore and a variety of exhibits for all ages. It is an educational and family-friendly way to spend several hours in Omaha.

A great place to visit if you're wanting to learn about Omaha's history. Since I was a little girl, the Durham Museum has been my favorite museum in Omaha, and now as an adult, it remains my favorite. I highly recommend planning a visit with your friends and family, or even as a solo trip. This museum is top tier. 👌🏾

The Durham museum and Union station was fun. The kids enjoyed the trains and the exhibit for toys that was going on. I enjoyed the short film area that talked about Omaha. Gift shop is small and overpriced but all in all on a rainy day you can fill up a few hours easily.

This is a a fabulous museum for everyone, including little kids! Plenty of room for them to wiggle and run, rotating special exhibits that often include a kid-friendly component, very clean bathrooms, kids toy/coloring page area, trains to walk through, model trains to watch, and of course the soda fountain! Visit around Christmas time to enjoy the enormous tree too!

Very nice museum. It's a bit difficult to navigate. Even with the maps, it seems like you have to do a lot of backtracking. Very clean and roomy. The trains were cool to walk through. The Christmas tree was beautiful. Lots of good info on the history of Omaha. Huge coin collection, lots of old items, a few old cars, and the entire building in itself is quite the sight to see.

This is a wonderful Omaha institution. We always have a great time when visiting. Between the traveling exhibits, permanent Omaha exhibits and train cars my kids learn something new every trip. A membership pays for itself over and over.

I love it here! It's beautiful and well maintained. There is a lot to see. There is a trolley but if you want to walk, it is manageable. There are plenty of benches to rest, but not a lot of water stops. I would recommend a visit here if you love plants and flowers. We went in the summer but I am sure Spring and Fall have a different view to offer.

This place is really cool they have different rooms for different climates, it’s a great place to take your kids that ware curious about different types of climates and plants that go with it. They’ll do displays as well, we went while they had there Lego dinosaurs that were built to scale. They even have a coffee shop and a cafe for lunch. Check it out, you won’t be disappointed. This is a great spot for parents who are home schooling as well.

A wonderful place with many beautiful flowers and at times incredible offerings of art and music, miniature trains, and so much more throughout the year as I've tried to share with my photos. That flowers can come in so many different shapes, size, and colors never ceases to amaze me. The artistry and inventiveness of some has the same impact on me. I hope you get a chance to visit there someday; I hope you enjoy it as we have.

Absolutely superb botanical gardens. Very large and diverse park with plenty of shaded areas and well kept paths. The whole park is quiet the walk but they do offer a tram experience so you if walking is difficult you can still experience all the park had to offer. Also has a super neat model train exhibit that is a must see especially if you have kids. Really cool place.

Been there twice, the second visit felt like the first time. I was in love with the place. The ground is perfect for families. Vibrant colors of different flowers and greens fills the huge area. You can walk around under the shades of big trees, see different varieties of rose in the rose garden. The indoor garden showcase tropical plants whole year. The staffs are very friendly.

As an owner of a special nursery & garden center, I have a unique perspective on garden’s one might say. Lauitzen Gardens was enchanting to say the least. What a refreshing, serene setting they have created. A great visit for an individual, a date, the family, a corporate retreat and or a educational experience for a classroom of children. If you are a nature lover, you will LOVE THIS PLACE! A wonderful get away from the city, just minutes from downtown Omaha. The gift shop is cute and quaint with items that reflect whats taking place throughout the gardens. The conservatory is a must see with multiple climatic zones being offered. Start at the top floor with a cup of coffee and meander down though various flora and fauna which represents each climatic zone. Bring your camera as many photo ops exist. I only had a couple of hours to spend and feel I hadn’t even scratched the surface of all that’s available to see. Natives of Nebraska both in herbaceous perennials, woody shrubs and trees are brilliantly represented. Colorful displays of annuals are splashed about to keep one mesmerized. They offer a snack area inside and don’t worry plenty of benches are available if you get tired of walking. They have trams as well for those who prefer to ride vs walking. Have I sold you on this wonderful place yet? I hope so, its one of my new favorite places!!!

One of the nicest and most peaceful places I’ve been to. They have so many variety of flowers and trees. Their greenhouse has really beautiful tropical flowers and tress as well as decorations such as dragons and snakes. Also, they have events going on during holidays which is super fun with the family. I highly recommend this place if you enjoy beautiful scenery.

This was our first time here. The map was helpful but not very clear as where to start walking. As a result we walked along the road when, on the return trip, we discovered there was a sidewalk just few yards away from the road. It was a bit windy and cool. I will have to come back in the spring time but there is a lot to see and walk around. Great source of relaxing excerises. Will being my camera next time(those photos are off the mobile phone) in the Japan area there were two tripods that were empty but sitting around on a bank which bothered me as to why they would leave something so foreign there near the zen garden. Bathroom, outdoors, was clean and spacious as well as ADA complainant. Wish they had at least one more or maybe even 2 spaces out throughout. The exit out of the greenhouse to the parking lot was confusing and it almost looked like you had to backtrack through the greenhouse to get out. Could have had better exit signs. For now a 4 star rating but I see possibilities of this place becoming a 5.

This place is great with walking paths as well as shuttles in case you didn’t want to walk around. There are so many beautiful areas within the gardens that are very serene. There are plenty of seating throughout the area so if you get exhausted, you can take a few breaks around. I say it’s worth visiting again especially when you want to just take a peaceful walk.

Absolutely beautiful gardens. I love that they have eclectic sections along the path that have fun designs- it's not just sorted by different types of flowers, as many places are, but actual themes like the Victorian garden and Japanese-inspired path and things like that. The model train garden was a definite hit- so fun to watch the trains ride the large tracks around trees and flowers. The conservatory was also gorgeous- so calm and inviting. Kenefick park at the top of the hill was small but it was fun to see the giant trains-of-old. I will say they just planted flowers recently, so I bet in late summer the gardens will be full-to-bursting with beauty, so a good time to visit would actually be late July-August to see everything in full bloom.

Beautiful conservatory and multiple, smaller themed gardens around the grounds (about 1.25 miles of walking to see everything). Some construction underway at the time of my visit (17 SEP 23), but it didn’t really detract from the overall effect. The smaller gardens are a mixed bag, with some exhibiting more design and production work than others, but all are attractive. The model railroad with multiple, running trains was really interesting. There’s an immense amount of outdoor space to grow into, and the construction projects are expanding the facilities to take advantage of some of it. All-in-all, it was a great way to spend a morning.

Not as big as the Botanical Garden I visited in Singapore, but it definitely has its own unique charm that I still do recommend as a must-visit if you find yourself in Omaha. Make sure to smell the flowers!

Sure wish we could of ate are lunches there, but the gal said absolutely not. So don't bring lunches unless it's nice out, because you have to sit outside. The individuals that I work with were very disappointed. As you can tell it was snowing outside and cold.

Was a fun museum. I loved the blown glass and the Indian beaded art! Glad I got to see it before they close for 2 years.

Presently, the Joslyn Art Museum is undergoing a major expansion and renovation. The Museum will open the Rhonda and Howard Hawks Pavilion, designed by the internationally acclaimed firm Snøhetta, in 2024. The Museum expansion is devoted to increased access to art, greater service in art education and engagement, and will provide an enhanced Museum-going experience for every visitor. The expansion and renovation are supported by the Evolve Joslyn Campaign. This campaign is the largest in the Museum’s ninety-one-year history. The Museum is collaborating with the highly acclaimed design firm Pentagram to develop a new brand aimed at illuminating the Museum locally, nationally, and internationally.

This is an awesome place and a real gem in the city of Omaha. Not many cities of similar size can claim to have a venue of such nice spaces and pieces of art. Many of the galleries are situated connecting to the main courtyard. In the middlle of the courtyard you'll find a beautifully tiled fountain and greenery. This means you can hear running water from most places in the main gallery, a great little design feature. They don't have a ton of stuff but what they do have is well curated and we'll presented. Among the highlights are paintings from Monet, ancient Greek vases, some excellent Asian statuary and a large wooden screen that's been intricately carved and lacquered. The American galleries are excellent as well. I also don't want to leave out the early American Western stuff, including Navajo beadworks. The galleries themselves are neat spaces featuring solid colors with a couple feet of marble at the base, different in every room.

This is truly a gem... The museum itself is a work of art: Attractive, unique in style, and set in a peaceful lovely and inviting garden of sculpture and flora, like a diamond high up along Dodge street. You feel drawn in to see more. And you find yourself welcomed upon entry. There is plenty to see but not to the point of overload. Very enjoyable and eye- opening!

Omaha is lucky to have Joslyn Art Museum, there many larger city with lesser museums. Joslyn Art Museum is commited to our community and trying to give the city what they want in Art. I don't go there often enough but the museum is always worth going to and seeing something beautiful you did not notice the last time you were there.

Beautiful. Small. Free. Varied. Quiet. Friendly. Impressive building, not really big. Architecture 👍🏻. Art nice, some of it very good. Not a lot. The expo on hunting & fishing is quite traditional. The modern and American-Indian art is really good and interesting. As is the sculpture garden. The place was extremely quiet, Sunday noon. Nice. Friendly staff. No access fee. European art not available. Bit of a downer.

This museum is fantastic! The art is well organized and documented, the building itself is gorgeous, and admission is free. The quality of the pieces will stun you. This is perhaps my favorite stop in Omaha, highly recommended.

A beautiful, impressive, and quality art museum. Fantastic permanent collection displayed in a monument to art-deco architecture. It's hard to beat the free admission to a most impressive high art collection. The building itself is worth the visit alone. The staff is courteous and friendly. You can elect a move-at-your-own-pace self-guided tour. The placards provide good information on each piece to help you get the most or of your visit. Non-flash, non-professional photography is allowed, so bring your phone and snap away.

I really enjoyed my time at this museum. I like how a lot of that artwork had written descriptions. The art works section, which I believe is designed for children, was very great as well. Very interactive.

I stopped in on a Friday afternoon. Free admission. The staff was very nice & asked if I had visited before which I told him I did not. He then explained everything on the map & really made me feel welcomed. The exhibits were great. I am so happy I had the time to visit while passing through Omaha.
