Wilmington

Wilmington is a port city in North Carolina. It’s known as a gateway to Cape Fear Coast beaches like Wrightsville, with its strong surf, and Carolina, with its long boardwalk. Part of downtown’s Historic District, the Riverwalk is lined with restaurants, galleries and shops. It runs along the Cape Fear River, where the Battleship North Carolina is moored. Artifacts on the ship explore WWII naval combat history.

There is more to do IMHO in Charleston ... so that would be my vote. GLTer mod: @Aurelia Runolfsson lives around Wilmington so she can deliver some insight there.

On the island: Havana’s has a nice atmosphere and Freddy’s at Kure beach pier has good food. Sea Witch is fun for drinks. Take the ft fisher ferry to Southport for dinner at fishy fishy. For stuff to do- the beach, walk around ft fisher, aquarium, get some Britt’s donuts at the Carolina beach boardwalk. For only four days I’d stay on the island and not venture into Wilmington but if you do downtown Wilmington you can tour the battleship, walk along the river and grab dinner in the historic downtown.
