They have a new welcome center. We went kayaking and went to the beach. Love the tram driver. We went off our anniversary... Would you know we got on Fox 4 Now while we were there. We will come back. They have done a great job getting things up and running and open to the public.

beautiful place 10/10. easy access to a beautiful beach. i had a great experience in the canal with a paddle board (didn’t see any alligators). cheap fee and free tram that comes in fast intervals that takes you from parking lot to beach. showers and bathrooms right next to parking lot. friendly staff 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Beautiful state park with wonderful beaches between Fort Myers Beach and Bonita Springs. There is plenty of parking for an entry fee of 8$ per car, which is very reasonable. We went there several times with our kids during our Florida holidays and it was always an experience. Even the little tram ride from the parking spot to the south beach is great for them. At the beach you have all facilities in place with restrooms, showers and picnic areas, as well as a little food truck. The beach itself is amazing with clear water, white sand and tons of shells. We will definitely come again ...

We really enjoyed our day at this park. We mostly did a beach day but also did some hiking on the trails. Note that after parking you take a trailer ride to the beach from the parking lot. This was running continuously all day and seemed to be back every 10-15 minutes or so. This worked out well. They had good bathroom facilities at both sides of the trailer ride (adjacent the parking lot, and at the beach), so this was nice too. There is a gift shop next to the main parking lot and it has some ice cream and drinks there too, plus lots of gift ideas. There is also food available at the beach. The beach was great for shells, we got some good ones! It was a red flag day so the water was rough, but we did walk along the shoreline and that was nice. Lots of birds around and the water was a pretty color here. 2+ miles of shore here so you can walk a long ways. We had no problems parking but got here around 10AM-ish, I'd imagine at later times after noon it gets much busier. When we were leaving the lot looked pretty full. Highly recommend this place.

Great beach and many people visiting Ft. Meyers never make it here. This beach is hidden and you have to go over the bridge coming from Fort Meyers. Then you have to take a weird turn to get to the parking lot. You have to pay, it’s not free. The beach is pretty and there are a number of people fishing day and night at this spot or near by. It’s a hike to the nearest beach but you can go down further. It’s very pretty and there are several mangroves in the area. Some people are more adventurous where they go on a kayak in the mangroves near by or the coves. It’s not wilderness but use your common sense. If you swim keep in mind there are currents don’t underestimate the ocean.

I wanted to enjoy the paddleboards offered at Lovers Key again, but the day got away from me and I arrived too late. The boards need to be returned by 4:30 and it takes about 15 minutes it fill out paperwork and make it across the street where the boards are located. So be there by 3 at the very latest to enjoy a full hour paddling the channel, maybe you'll see a manatee while you're paddling. I made my way out to the beach. It is a short walk but there is a tram that runs from the parking lot to the beach. Ample room in the back of the truck for chairs and coolers. They have bathroom facilities in the parking lot and the tram drop off at the beach. The beach was wonderful, white sand and plenty of shells. Saw small sea birds, pelicans, dolphins and even a manta ray leap out of the water! The park closed shortly after sunset. The last tram waited for the people to clear the beach before pulling away. There was not much time after arriving in the parking lot to get in your car and go before they locked the restrooms and main gates. Found out they have several beach wheel chairs available for use!

We absolutely adore this state park. Even if there’s a lot of people, there’s still plenty of room for everybody. They have trams to take you to another area of the beach if you don’t want to walk. They have a few different areas with concessions and bathrooms. The water is absolutely beautiful, you’ll want to spend all day here! Just don’t forget your sunscreen.

Beautiful park. We kayaked the canals and the scenery was nice, lots of birds. The manatee were a no show that day. Didn’t see any alligators either. The beaches are gorgeous. There are trails to walk/bike as well. Lots of accessories to assist disabled to beach.

I love it here! The guy who rents the umbrellas and chairs is so sweet. It is peaceful and pretty!!! And the is a trolley to pick you up and drop you off.

Loved this park! It was a scorching hot day so walking any paths was out for us, but the beach was so calm and peaceful. Lots of shells here too. There is a tram that takes you to the beach or you can walk. Walk would take about 10 minutes at an average pace. It’s $7 to park for the day. You can pay with cash or using your phone.

I haven’t been to that specific spot since hurricane Ian. But it’s was an absolutely stunning, special, place. And I’m sure they’ve done stuff with it since. But that beachwood……. Irreplaceable. I’ll share a photo of the beautiful beach and our Christmas “tree “ full of shells , sand dollars , wishes , people’s names , visitors and locals alike.

Visited this state park to catch the sunset, and it was breathtaking. The beach is beautiful, and you have the option of taking a tram or a half-mile walk to reach it. Keep in mind that the park closes around 6 due to hurricane-related issues affecting the lighting. Overall, a serene and picturesque spot for nature lovers.

Great park with excellent trails through the mangroves. One of the better wildlife viewing areas we visited while in the area. Lots of birds. Saw a couple snakes. A bunch of lizards. And the endangered gopher tortoise! Wonderful education signs. It’s a great way to spend a morning. The trails weren’t busy but the beach and beach parking was very busy.

What a stunning knock dead gorgeous place. Beautiful beaches, estuaries, and Discovery Center. We first stopped at the Discovery Center to get the lay of the land, so to speak. We were met by Glenda, a docent who volunteers her time here. Very pleasant lady and very knowledgeable. She was able to answer all of our questions, and she pointed out things to do after leaving the Discovery Center. The Discovery Center is amazing. Very well put together, giving you an excellent overview of the biodiversity of the marine life and land loving creatures. There are a lot of interactive displays for kids of all ages. There is a telescope there where you can spy in on a nesting pair of Ospreys. We strongly recommend that you visit this place first. From there, we walked over and took the trolley down to the beach. The beach has been combed down to a depth of three feet to remove the hurricane derbis from hurricane Ian less than two years ago. Be careful if you go into the water. It is strongly recommended that you wear shoes in the water. Many hazards may still be on the ocean floor that can not be seen. There are restrooms near the beach area. There are lots of trails, and you are allowed to ride your bikes on these trails. Again, it is a must-see place during your travels to this area.

Picturesque beach is characterized by pristine, white sand. Access to the beach is provided via a tram service that operates every 20 minutes and is included in the $8 entrance fee. Ample parking is available, and the beach is not excessively crowded. For those who prefer not to bring their own seating, there is an option to rent chairs and umbrellas at a reasonable cost.

Great State Park. Hiking trails that are wide and easy, very bike-able. Also kayak rentals, fishing and beach access with trolley option. Clean facilities and bathrooms everywhere. Great nature opportunities.

Very well maintained areas and beach. Staff were courteous and helpful getting those with disabilities around, and beach wheelchairs were free to use. We were able to see dolphins and collect seashells to our hearts' content.

Just went back and our group rented Kayaks through Lover's Key Adventures. We had an amazing experience with three Manantee encounters. Plus our guide, Karen did an excellent job, kept us entertained while exploring the Estuary.

The boat is cool, being a 12,000+ HP jet powered catamaran with food and drinks on board. That being said, the trip was like other mass transit options. Lots of waiting in lines and mass humanity. The personnel were nice enough, the boat was fairly comfortable, the experience of sailing across the Gulf of Mexico was great. The downside to it was the crowding and the waiting.

My husband and I took key west express instead of driving so we could just relax. All of the staff aboard were super friendly. Thank you for a great experience. We can't wait to go back again with you guys

OMG we absolutely loved going to Key West on the express. The ride was smooth, and the staff was amazing!!! If going to key West you have to get there by key West express. My husband had talked about doing this for years, this was his 30th gift from me. We will do this every time we are in Florida. You don't want to miss it trust us.

I highly recommend their services! From the easy booking process to parking facilities right at the dock and boarding procedures that the staff facilitated with ease, this was a pleasant experience! Howie, the friendliest bartender ever, was courteous, friendly and very efficient even with the large crowd. He got our drink orders and food choices done with yummy results. The drink and food choices are enough variety so there's plenty for your liking and prices are more reasonable than I expected. Many people use the ferry for little getaways to Key West and the staff is very accommodating with luggage. There's plenty of room to walk around and also decks for your viewing and photo taking. The facilities are very clean and bathrooms were much more spacious than expected. The staff is very thorough in explaining all rules and conduct aboard ship and they will even assist with excursions on Key West if you need. Definitely a great idea to pick their brains since they have font of information and suggestions and don't mind sharing their knowledge. I definitely recommend & a little tip, take the ferry and spend the night since Key West is so full of fun you won't want to leave!

This is the best way to get to Key-West. 4 hours or less depending on the weather. Boat is clean. Beware people do NOT keep masks on. Cocktails are served so there are loud people as well. Beautiful view from the top deck.

Fun and convenient. Smooth rides from Fort Myers Beach to Key West and back, under excellent weather conditions in February. I didn't realize how big this boat was; the main level cabin is about 36 feet wide with tables for up to six along the sides and rows of seats in the middle. Cocktail bar and snack bar in the center with reasonable basic food to hold you over. Second level is similar inside seating. Highly recommend to climb the stairs all the way up to the 3rd level (outside deck) - it is very windy up there but it feels great and the view is amazing.

While on vacation, I decided to take this ferry from Fort Myers to Key West. I had parking near where the boat was docked. I boarded with no problems, but there was no direction on where to sit. The seats were comfortable. The seats with tables were all taken by those who I guess were experienced riders. The ride to Key West was smooth, but 4 hours felt a lot longer than I imagined. The bar and gallery were quite pricey, but I wasn't surprised. The ride back to Fort Myers was a lot rougher. Several people got sick, but the staff handled it well. I stayed up top where the up and down wasn't felt as much, but the wind on my face and ears was intense. The staff was friendly. It was not a bad experience but something I won't do again.

Our trip from Fort Myers to Key West was sparsely populated so we could sit about anywhere we wanted. The trip back was almost full, but it was still comfortable. It is the best way to travel from SW Florida to Key West!

From the time we arrived in the parking lot it felt like we were traveling abroad for a big vacation. Staff greeted us with open arms, helped with questions, and got us underway on time. The ride was fun and refreshments reasonably priced-just wish they had frozen drinks with umbrellas. Would definitely do this trip again! You don’t need/want a car on Key West-parking sucks. Walk, get a scooter, bike, whatever, it start your trip on the Key West Express.

You will absolutely love the experience of taking the Key West Express to Key West! The crew is truly amazing, the boat ride, the views, the onboard restaurant and bar services...don't miss out!

Best way to get to Key West, much better than driving (we've done both). Be warned, however: making a "day trip" is a 12-14 hour day. Better to take a day or 2 on the island. Amazing vessel and the crew is top notch. Snacks are good and there is a decent selection at the bar. Ride the wind on the top deck or relax in the AC on the lower deck. I can imagine it would be a challenge to bring young children, or even teenagers, as there are times on the 4 hour trip where there is no Cell or 5G service (gasp!). You are on the open Gulf 😀.

Ship was very spacious and comfortable. Food and drink offerings were very good and reasonably priced. Handicap accessible with room to drive your scooter. Smoking deck. Staff was knowledgeable and friendly. I would definitely do this again. 😊

The ride was pretty chill. They have screens with HGTV playing. If you want a choice of seat you have to get there really earlier. I'm not sure about the Fort Myers' side, but the key west side people were waiting 5 hours before loading. The crew was nice. The snack food prices are not bad, but the food was. If you want, bring cash to tip at the end, but I will say this SHAME ON THE OWNER if the crew truly needs tips to survive. The cost of this was what I would pay for a flight or a two day cruise. So if the crew needs tips to make their wages, then the owner is making bank by not paying them enough and pocketing more than they should, and then asking for $$ on wages he should be paying himself.

Awesome way to get to Key West. Boat rise was smooth and alot of fun. Very seamless on both ends of the journey. I suggest staying over the night in Key West to see the sunset at Mallory Square. The food and drinks on board were well priced as well.

Seriously, the crew could not be nicer. They were affable, helpful, and considerate. The food is basically mid-grade freezer section food, which is fine. It definitely was good enough but could be better. The drinks were OK also. Same ok, not fabulous. The bathrooms were clean and plentiful. Decent shows were available to watch on the TVs to pass the time. The ride was smooth in both directions. My only complaint is that we wished the seats were more comfortable. After being in Key West all day, being in seats that could be reclined enough to put our feet up and nap would have been greatly appreciated. Overall, this is an amazing way to go back and forth to Key West.

First off, it's super convenient to take this to Key West. Do NOT expect first class cruise ship experience. Come in thinking it's a relaxing little ferry ride with a full bar. The food is nothing special, but at least it's something to put into your stomach until you make it to Key West. Being that my wife and I came on a Friday as the tourist season was starting to ramp up, we got sat outside on the second level. All of the interior was full. We got there an hour early, just a heads-up. It's the same going back too from Key West. Get there are early as possible if you want interior seating. With so much going on and it being a new experience for me, I found it overwhelming because I didn't know where the bathrooms were or where the bar was at first. Just get up and walk around. It's a pretty chill experience, honestly. The bar and cafeteria area are both on the first level. There are bathrooms on both the first and second level. Bathrooms are larger than an airplane bathroom, but similar to a degree. The staff was excellent and courteous. They gave us advice as we were traveling. Side note, call your hotel to see if they hold luggage. Hotels don't check in normally until 4 pm, and Key West Express will get you there around 11am. The Hyatt Centric I stayed at did hold luggage. If you stay at a hotel that doesn't hold luggage, the ferry drops you off at a place that will hold your luggage and deliver it to your hotel when it's time to check in, allowing you to wander freely around Key West until its time for check in. From what I saw on the pricing, it was pretty comparable. The one major problem was a storm front came through the night we were headed back to Fort Myers, and even with the crew trying to get as close to shore as possible, the waves were horrible. I had sea sickness almost the entire trip back. Threw up over...and over....and over.....and over. I sat outside on the first level near the smoke break area. People were running to the bathroom, and even coming outside on the deck to hurl over the railing. It was a bad storm. This is not the crew's fault though. It was still a horrible experience back. The kicker to that return back was that my wife actually got there early and got excellent interior seating....but I still ended up spending most of my time outside enjoying fresh air while dry heaving.

We decided to take this express which is very well run and offers a bar and hot food options. It was advertised as 3.5 hrs but it took 4 hrs each way. We still had enough time on the island for a day trip.

I had a great experience taking this ferry down to Key West for the first time. Check-in process is very organized from start to finish. The services on the ferry are accommodating. I do recommend bringing a blanket and a good book to read! The ride there and back was smooth with very minimal disruptions. The crew and captain are super friendly and helpful with answering any questions you may have.

It was so easy to get to Key West by catching the catamaran from Ft. Myers - much easier & faster than driving.

Great way to travel to Key West. However, be sure and get a prescription for something if you're prone to sea sickness. Rough waters going back to Ft. Myers made for a not so enjoyable time.

We love Ft Myers Beach. It's nice to see some of the favorites make their way back on the beach. We are there to support them. It's still a great place to be. I hope that all can pull it together and make a strong come back.

I stopped by Fort Myers Beach/Times Square to catch the sunset. It was great to see restaurants open and a lot of people at the beach. The city was hit so hard by Ian and there is still a sobering feeling but it’s good to see the progress.

A fun place to look around, see a lot of people, shop for all kinds of touristy things, see pelicans up close, and eat at some pretty good little seafood restaurants. Parking lots charge $20. There is a new Margaritaville being constructed across the street so parking is at minimum. We took a Lyft to avoid all that.

Nice place at walking distance to the beach, full of restaurants and souvenir shops, you can go and choose from oysters, ice cream, tacos or sushi all in one block, great variety of food, definitely worth taking a walk around and discovering all it has to offer. Don't forget to stop a the brewery.

Time Square on Fort Myers Beach.One of my favorite places ❤️ You have so many shops/ restaurants/ Hotels to choose from. All with in walking distance! Yahoo 🤗 You also got the fishing pier. You also have the city bus stops all along the way. It’s my happy place.💦

This is a fun, kitschy beach strip with all the usual shops and restaurants. No beach should be without it. There are a few nicer boutique shops included - like Local Color, which was my favorite. There was very little in that store I wouldn’t buy. Also there are several fun ice cream shops. You see the usual chains - DQ, Cold Creamery, and Kilwins - but after much research 😉we decided the locally owned 80 Flavors shop was the best. It’s a great place to pick up tshirts, sweatshirts, or alligator shaped chocolate for the folks back home.

This place is so fun! There are so many shops, restaurants and nightlife to fill your time and entertain you! I would highly recommend coming here if you are in the area!

Overall it's still looking a bit rough for a lot of the buildings in the area due to the hurricane but still a nice beach and great weather that we had while visiting. Enough open to spend time here

Nice to see people back enjoying the area in general, along with the Beach and Margaritaville... a new addition that is Jimmy Buffet cool...revenue will really help the island. New clock at Times square great to see.. Alot more to do w pier severely damaged, Dairy Queen and other buildings gone..but there a hopeful sign of renewal!

Beautiful spot to stop and let your dogs play. One of the best parts about this location is that everyone we encountered is what I call a "real" dog person. Someone that doesn't cower when a dog barks someone that understands that some dogs are gonna growl and bark a little when they first meet because they are dogs and that's what they do. My incredibly sweet girl is very vocal and was trying to "save" people splashing around in the water... Everyone just smiles and knew she was having a great time. No nasty looks. Oh, and of course then location is really beautiful. The huge shallow sandbar makes for a perfect spot to anchor your boat for the day or park and walk in from the road. Highly recommend for other "real" dog owners!

A great place for dog lovers and families. The water is shallow and is perfect for your four legged friends. Dogs of all shapes and sizes can be found at the beach it is truly a site to see. The people are friendly and it's a great place to visit if you are visiting Naples or Bonita springs or a local resident. One of my favorite spots to brings my dogs with my kids on the weekends for some fun.

I really enjoyed this beautiful place. I had too much fun playing with my little swimming dog. Definitely, this is now my favorite place to have the best time with my little one.

Amazing beach where you and your dog can enjoy a nice day. All dogs are allowed off leash. The water off the beach is shallow for quite a ways out which is nice if your dog or you aren’t particularly confident. The lack of waves meant that my dog swam for the first time ever at this beach. There is parking for several cars just off the road at the entrance. I will note that the entrance area of often flooded so be prepared to wade or maybe even swim through the water.

Words cannot describe the joy that you have at this place with your animal. Your animal must be friendly and return to you if you let him off the leash. It is absolutely beautiful low tide is the best time to go so you can walk farther out but you have to make sure you watch the time cuz when the tide comes back in the water rises back up. Absolutely love this place and I highly recommend it

Dogs love it but you have to go as close to low tide as water rises and you have to wade up to your knees to get to beach as high tide approaches! They need a higher ground path especially for older people like me! Bring your own doggy bags, tons of fresh water, and umbrella for shade! Your car will be full of sand and smell like wet dog and beach forever after, but it's worth it!

This place was magical. At first I was not sure I was at the right place because the signs were not visible after Ian. There was a trail that opened up to a stream. We hd to wade through the stream until we arrived at what was a beautiful lagoon. The water was clear, warm and perfectly still. There were plenty of Dogs with their families playing in the water and on the beach. There were beached and anchored boats in the lagoon, music playing, sun was shining and children and dogs playing happily. it truely was a wonderful day.

This is hands down our favorite beach in fort Myers/Bonita area. Dog friendly (obviously) you can pull up your boat/jet ski/paddle board. Everyone is super friendly and loves dogs and my dogs absolutely LOVE it here. Lots of parking just a short walk through the mangroves to get to the actual bay/beach area. We love it!

I can't say enough wonderful things about the dog beach! It's truly a canine paradise, and I couldn't be happier with my experience there. From the moment I arrived, it was evident that this place was designed with both dogs and their owners in mind. The beach is spacious and clean, with soft sand that's perfect for digging and playing. There are plenty of shaded areas and benches for humans to relax while keeping an eye on their furry friends. The best part, of course, is the water. The dog-friendly section of the beach is right along the shore, allowing dogs to frolic in the waves to their heart's content. My pup had an absolute blast splashing around and making new friends with other dogs. It's heartwarming to see so many happy tails wagging in the water. The rules and regulations are well-enforced, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pets, and I was pleased to see that the majority of visitors were diligent in this regard. The sense of community among dog owners here is fantastic. It's easy to strike up conversations with fellow pet lovers, share stories, and even arrange playdates for our four-legged companions. Overall, the dog beach is a gem for dog owners and their furry companions alike. It's a place where dogs can be dogs, and humans can bask in the joy of watching them have the time of their lives. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fantastic outing with their canine companion. We will definitely be returning soon! 🐾🌊🐶

Indy's first time at the beach and he caught zooms more times than I can count. This place is awesome because it has no waves (my dog is a scaredy cat - he hated when we visited the beaches). The dogs were all friendly and super playful - easily matching my dog's energy. Just beware - we found a HUGE dead bird in the brush that he was trying to "investigate" so while your pupp is off leash just watch where they wonder. It wasn't the CLEANEST spot but we had fun for 45 minutes so it was well worth the drive. Water is very shallow so that's also a plus!

Im really happy to see all the negative reviews. Stay away. I love this beach. So for all the nay sayers…if you don’t want to walk the trail during high tide, knee to thigh high water, don’t come. Don’t bring a wagon. Wear water shoes. The path isn’t for those that can’t walk steadily in muck at the front of the trail. If you want to keep your dog on a leash, don’t come. This is an OFF LEASH dog park. Do some homework on dog ‘packs’. You will find that leashed and unleashed dogs don’t mix. I have been coming to this park, weekly, for 5 years with 2 large dogs. The only ‘aggressive’ dogs are those that can’t run with the rest of them. The only trash I’ve seen is what disrespectful people leave behind. And if you lay a blanket or leave your bag on the ground, expect it to get pee’d on. This is a dog beach. If you want to lay out in the sun or let your kids play in the sand, find another beach. Dogs do poop n pee anywhere they want. Most people do pick up the big stuff. But in my opinion, it’s not a swimming or sunbathing spot…it’s a one of a kind beach for DOGS to run and play. And the size of the beach hinges on the tide. High tide, small beach. Low tide, big beach. It’s gotten pretty busy lately with those that don’t have dogs. And quite frankly, I think a dog should be required to enter this park. If you don’t have a dog, go find another beach. And if you have a pocket dog that can’t stand its ground, go early or risk run-ups by larger curious or hyper dogs that just want to sniff. Yelling at all of the other owners to grab their dogs doesn’t work. Find another beach. This happens to be my favorite spot for walking with my dogs.

By far one of the most beautiful dog beaches in America when the water is tropical colors. It's definitely worth checking out. You have to wade through a path of water off the parking lot to get to the beach, depending on low or high tide. This can be a problem if you arrive as one person, two small dogs who can't swim- someone has to help u carry one to get to the beach. There are mangroves, small trees, and bushes that provide shade. Best to go when it's not too busy because this park is not monitored and unfortunately, sometimes people bring dogs that are too wound up and somewhat aggressive. It's best to just keep a close eye on your pup to avoid this. There is also a rip tide on each side of the beach that you need to keep an eye on. People have drowned there, I've saved a dog from a dumb owner who didn't understand not to let the dog swim there. Swim in the center, shallow water. The waves a usually very low here, nice for the dogs and there is a good breeze. Boats like to come drop anchor, fish, and party. There are two porta-potty in the parking lot and a hose to spray your dogs off with before getting back in the car. Weekdays have less people/dogs, weekends are usually packed. Make sure to bring poop bags and pick up your trash. Have fun!

One of the few dog friendly beaches... Has a good amount of space with a few sandbars. The water peaceful, not to strong of currents so it's easy for your dog to move around the water.. good place bring your dog on a paddle board.. parking is also free which is a plus.. could be a little cleaner but overall a great place to get away and have a great beach day

Super easy access: either walk the longer windy trail off to the right side when entering or take the shortcut around by wading through the water. High tide is still easy to access, but with low tide you can walk across to the other beach more easily! Lots of dogs, lots of fun. Pick up your poop!!

Franklin was our tour guide. He made so interesting and fun. It is a great place to visit and learning about the Calusa people.

A delightful excursion and so worth the fee. Bobby who was our Tour Guide was humorous and 5 Stars also go to him. Gift shop was very nice too. Different items to choose from. Be good as a family outing.

Excellent opportunity for our students. Everyone enjoyed learning about our local history and had fun. The staff and volunteers were engaging and knowledgeable. Highly recommended for a school trip and also as a return for a parent with your family. They have kayak tours and the location is beautiful!

Family fun kayak tour was indeed fun and for family. My fact-loving 8 & 11 yr olds loved it! Guides super patient w kids and knowledgable. And so reasonably priced at $25/adult and $15/kid.

We went with a group on a day that the museum was closed. The museum's manager, Adam, gave us a great tour and history lesson over the course of about 2 hours. The museum and its grounds are limited; without the opportunity to have a guide it would not have been as enjoyable.

Beautiful park and museum! Lots of interesting flora and fauna to inspect on the grounds. The museum is small but well done throughout the house. The underground exhibit of the shell mound is not open yet due to Ian damage last year, but it's still well worth visiting the property... And coming back in a few months when all the exhibits are fully restored and open again. Staff is cheerful and friendly and happy to answer questions.

Adam was an amazing tour guide; very knowledgeable and kept the tour very interesting and engaging! Will be back to go on a kayaking tour!

This museum and learning experience are a fresh breath of education and history amongst all the tourist locations. The grounds are beautiful. The exhibits are informative. There is a short video introduction, house to tour, and an underground exhibit where you can learn about the early people who lived there. It was an interesting stop. The employees and volunteers were phenomenal.

This is the second time my mom and I have visited this site/museum. There has been a great deal of effort put into making it a beautiful and educational experience. Anyone who visits Fort Myers Beach should not miss this exhibit! I highly suggest The Mound House tour. Update: we went back AGAIN this year for their beginners kayak tour. What a deal! The guides were wonderful, and estuary was so beautiful, and we got to see all kinds of birds, as well as dolphins, manatee, and even stingrays. Dexter is a phenomenal guide, and we've already decided we will be going back for kayaking experiences here in the future. Don't miss it!

Very interesting place. If you do the boat tour to Mound Key, be aware the trail is rough and there are some steep hills. I would recommend closed toed shoes. Mound Key doesn't have too much to see, there are information boards, but no structures. The view on top is pretty and the ride over was great, but if you are expecting structures and artifacts on the key, you may be disappointed. The trail through the mangroves and trees is actually very pleasant. It can be very warm, take water. The guide was very informative about the area, history, birds and plants. The boat crew as well. We were able to see several bird varieties and dolfins.

Beautiful property. Wasn't able to view the homes interior as there are limited days to see it. Property has a great deal of educational information regarding the local flora and fauna.
