Q&A about Dana Point

What time of year? The historic district of San Juan Capistrano is really interesting. One of the 21 California missions is there and a popular historic sight. The old, original part of town is below the mission and is filled with shops and restaurants. The town is good for a full day. Whale watching out of Dana Point is popular in season. They may want to rent a car to see Laguna Brach which is also a quintessential beach town. Crystal Cove State Park is popular and quaint with its 1940s-50s beach cottages and beachfront cafe. It’s beautiful with high cliffs and lots of dolphins - I don’t think I’ve ever been to that beach and not seen dolphins. If they like to hike, they should go up behind Laguna Beach to Top of the World, park, and hike the trails. Great views of the ocean and pretty trails. Just a few suggestions!
