This is a company that has been in the business a long time and definitely knows what they are doing. Outstanding customer service, COVID compliant and some of the best guides available. The guide for our day trip was Zach Williams and not once did I question the safety of the hands we were in. Several other guides and rafters we encountered along the trip confirmed it by telling us "He's the best guide out here". Multiple trip options to choose from and the experience will be as tame or daring as you and your group chooses. It was so much fun and the pictures the company photographer took really captured it. My group and I are looking forward to the next one. I could not recommend this business more!

I had never been rafting and was nervous. Especially because we were bringing our 7 year old son. Everything was great. Our guide, Paris, was fabulous with us an our son. She listened to our requests to go easy and it was very easy to follow her commands on the raft. We loved it and will be back. There was another boat in our group that flipped, but they went down a level 4 rapids. If you want to take it chill, talk to your guides before getting on the water. It was a day trip we will remember fondly always.

Did a half day trip, with Jim as our guide, and it was probably the best rafting trip I have been on (even though I got tossed out of the boat). Just a fun trip, and we will be coming back for a full day for sure.

We participated in the 3 day 2 night rafting/camping trip on the Lower Deschutes River. It was an amazing experience. Truly, the memories will last a lifetime!

My family (wife and two teenagers) were excited as well as apprehensive about white water rafting, that is until they met our guide, Kirk. Kirk, his positive energy and high level of skill truly made our trip one to remember. Our son is autistic and while he enjoys adventure, we thought this might be pushing the envelope. Nope. Kirk caught on fast and made sure to help our son feel capable, included and best of all, Kirk made sure Connor had a great time. We can't wait to head back next summer! Hopefully we get Kirk again.

I've never been whitewater rafting before, but this trip will definitely make me a regular! I plan to go back every summer now! Our guides were amazing and the Groupon price was a steal.

We had a fantastic trip on the river today! Our guide Beck was fun and knowledgeable. We felt safe and like we were in great hands. We had so much fun we are rafting with them 3 days in a row!

We had a great 4 hr trip down the Salmon River with Noah with our family of 4, including two kiddos (13 & 10) some fantastic rapids but still felt safe and prepared with the instruction our guide was giving keeping us posted of when we would need to dip towards the middle and when a big rapid was coming up. The water was cold, but the wet suits and splash jackets provided along with your adrenaline made the trip tolerable...I mean the water to the face will definitely "wake" you up...but its to be expected from the Salmon River. The perfect ending was a jump off a 20' bridge by a nearby area. This was such a highlight as part of our summer trip.

Experience white water rafting for the first time last week and had an amazing experience. Did the half day morning trip on July 28th with my friend and we both enjoyed it (her second time). Our guide, Willy (I believe that was his name) was amazing and easy going, which made the trip much better.

We took our daughter and one of her friends (2 girls in the front of the raft) on the Deschutes full day rafting trip for her 14th birthday. It was both her and her friends first time rafting. Our guide, Dawson, was very experienced, had hilarious dad jokes and stories, and made sure Jocelyn and her friend had an amazing time. River drifters went above and beyond by ensuring we were safe but also making sure everyone on our trip had a blast ! We already can’t wait for next year and will be requesting Dawson again ! Our group was so impressed by our River Drifters rafting trip on the Rogue River. The beauty of the river canyon was breathtaking. Our guides got us down the river safely and took care of all of our needs in camp. It was so nice to have all of our meals prepared for us -- fajitas, pasta, pancakes, deli sandwiches -- everything was delicious! So much of the experience happens off the water and our trip was no exception. Hanging out at camp -- good company and good conversation. Our friends had never been on a rafting trip before and they loved it. We've decided to make it an annual tradition!

Went with some friends and did the 1/2 day on the Clackamas. For some of the group this was a first-time experience and others just the first time on the Clackamas. All of us had a great time. Our guide, Larry, was awesome. He tried several jokes, but we were a tough crowd. He found our interest point quickly however.... got into the wildlife, geology, history and talked about the fires. He was great prepping us for what was to come, and he was a star when we got hung up due to low water. We LOVED the photos and bought them all! Larry and team were great.

Fun, exciting and lots of adrenaline. Guides are amazing, they truly prepare and teach you how to take the next rapid. The full day trip was well worth every penny. We made plenty of stops to explore and enjoy what the Deschutes has to offer. Highly recommend River Drifters!!!!!!

I can’t say enough good things about our River Drifters Rafting trip. Friendly, honest, experienced locals that know every inch of the river like the back of their hand. We took our 7 and 8 year olds down the Deschutes River for half a day. It was the perfect mix of fun class 1-3 rapids and smooth floating for them. They absolutely loved it. Thanks to all the staff that take care of every detail to make us tourists learn to love the river like they do. We will return! 💦

Recently did an all-day drip with All Star. We were lucky enough to get Gretchen as our guide and she is AMAZING. My wife and I were the only two not in a bigger group, so it was just the two of us and Gretchen in a smaller raft and we had a blast. We had the best time here, and we will definitely be coming back next summer with all our kiddos! The rafts and equipement were all in great shape. The lunch was amazing. Overall, we just had a great time! Thanks so much All Star, and thanks Gretchen for being an awesome guide!!!

First time white water rafting, Haven, our guide was knowledgeable and pleasant. He took us through some spectacular areas, and the All Star photographer got some excellent shots. Definitely a good time! Highly recommend

What a great experience! Everything went really smooth. Our guide Elias was super cool. Lunch was very well done, and they even had refreshments when we pulled up on shore before heading back on the road. The geological facts were super cool too. Most importantly our whole family was treated warmly and respectfully. We had a tremendous amount of fun swimming, jumping off rocks, riding the rapids, riding the bull and sliding down the slippery rocks on the white river as a fun little stop during our day trip down the deschutes. I don’t normally leave reviews but this place was really awesome and I highly recommend them. We will for sure be coming back for their overnight trip! What a great way to spend the day with friends or in our case, our 6 person family, the two youngest being 10yrs old. Super fun!!

My family has used all star rafting for many years. Excellent customer service. Everybody was very friendly and seem to be a family orientated business. Booking was really easy they showed up when they said they would and met us at Sandy Beach right on time. All the equipment was obviously well used but everything worked properly. However, I talked to someone after a rafting trip and they apologized about the well used equipment and said they would be getting new rafts for next season. I’m guessing they are a family business and Covid had an impact on them just like everybody else. Which is completely understandable. I would absolutely give all star rafting five stars and would highly recommend. I’m looking forward to coming back for another trip next year. Thanks again for the amazing memories

Had a great time on a 3 day rafting trip. The guides (Peter and Mike) were awesome. Our kids had a blast. The guides were safety first oriented. The food was great. Like any trip I would have a couple small recommendations for them. But overall very fun trip that my kids will remember.

We had a blast! Josh was our guide and was really thoughtful about any fears we had on the Class 4, while also being super fun and engaging. The whole staff was lovely and communicated really clearly. Big fans and we’re ready to come back!

We found the facility to be lovely. Great location, nice buildings, well-manicured grounds. We did have a few issues. First, the room was not clean, with dust balls in several areas of the room and a gigantic spider web on the wall. The floor seemed gritty as well; we felt it required mopping—worst of all, the flies. The room was infested with flies; they were everywhere. Dozens of them; it was horrible. We were also uncomfortable with the curtains hanging away from the windows, for a ground floor accommodation this was unsatisfactory. The shade on the entry door would not retract. We had dinner at the restaurant; we ordered hamburgers and fries. It took one hour and twenty minutes; that's insane. There were three other tables occupied when we arrived, and one had their food. So only two ahead of us. I spoke with the staff, and they were not happy with the way the restaurant was being managed. Neither were we. Not one of these issues is difficult to rectify, but we had the impression management and supervisory staff were not doing their job. On the second day, we approached the lady at the front desk and asked if the restaurant serves breakfast, and she said no. So we left. It might have been helpful had she mentioned that you offered free breakfast in the room to her right! Yes, shame on us for not reading the sheet of paper given to us upon arrival. But come on.

From Booking to checking in, service was great! Location is perfect right on the water. Our guys really enjoyed the breakfast. We would happily book again!

A diamond in the ruff is the Imperial River Company. It is a great place to settle in to relax and enter the canyon to fish. Room rates are reasonable and the foods delicious.

We drove into town and saw this oasis. The location is amazing and the property is beautifully maintained. Everyone we interacted with was friendly and efficient. Some of the highlights of the stay were chatting with other guests around the fire pit, relaxing on the wooden swing at the river's edge, and the beautiful scenery. A recommendation for guests: bring earplugs and a sleep mask. Our room was on the top floor, with a vaulted ceiling and there is an uncurtained window that let in bright light in the early morning. The earplugs would have been handy to block the noise from the train and plumbing. With those two items, I would gladly stay there again. As a reminder, there are no televisions in the rooms, except for the suites. I loved it!

I had a spare tire on the car when I arrived at the hotel in the afternoon on June 23. The front desks both on duty at the night and in the next morning helped me to fix my trouble. Finally I replaced a new tire in The Dalles, and thus completed my journey. I am so sorry for not asking the names of the staff who helped me. However, I will put them in my heart for the rest of my life. Without your kind assistances I won't be calm, peaceful and safe. The hotel was a warm shelter to me. Thank you so much Imperial River Company. No words cam express my appreciation. Wish we meet again in the future. God bless you all.

Rooms were very clean and inviting. Service was perfect for the hotel, restaurant and bar. We did the river rafting and had the BEST time ever! Brian our guide was the absolut King when it came to guiding over the rapids, feeling safe and having a blast! Can't wait to go back!

We enjoyed the suite with 3 bedrooms, kitchen and living room. The view of the river and the gas fireplace made me want to stay there all day while the our guys were hunting! Stephanie at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. Clean and up to date bedding and furnishings. The self serve breakfast was also well organized. Loved the murals on all the walls!

Cozy, clean, & comfortable. I liked that the room was decorated with murals and had a theme (birdwatching). Friendly staff and continental breakfast.

Met up with friends with dogs to romp around, stayed two nights. Ice-machine was broken and the freshly scented air in our rooms was overwhelming, required half a day of airing-out offensive toxins. Otherwise easy getaway on the River with restaurant and bar. Go early if you plan to eat there. Their best menu items were gone before seven. If you're planning to partah, rent the whole place.

We had a super good time. Definitely coming back. Staff where all friendly. The food was so effn bomb. I'll be coming back just for the food. It was that good. The area is just beautiful. River everywhere. We floated with Jody. He's a great guide and hilarious. Thanks for the good time.

We have stayed here multiple times for fishing, scouting, and leisure. This hotel is consistently immaculate! It’s always clean, the staff is always friendly, and the grounds are so well kept! Their restaurant (while closed in the off season) is amazing! This hotel is the coziest place you’ll stay! This last weekend we stayed in room #210 (cascade).

Recently stayed at Imperial River for a wedding. Absolutely loved my trip! The scenery was beautiful, the room was cozy and serene, and it was clean and well put together! The man at the front desk was incredibly kind and funny. I hope I have the pleasure of returning. Thank you!

I really enjoyed my stay. The room was comfortable, well-appointed and had a nice view of the Deschutes River. The location is quiet but very close to town. There is a nice free continental breakfast with cheese omelets, breakfast sandwiches, hardboiled eggs, fruit, juice, coffee, hot and cold cereal. When open, I have enjoyed the food and beer selection at the on-site restaurant. My favorite amenity is Rita, the beautiful and friendly Australian Kelpie, who greets guests and is an absolute joy. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Highly recommend.

The rooms are relatively clean. There is no TV in any rooms nor a microwave. They advertise that their restaurant is open but when you get there, it was closed. However the restaurant up the road was open. Even sitting around the gas fire pit there was no one available to switch it on. Location is convenient and probably the best for that area. Maupin residents are friendly. The hotel is by the river and has a decent setting.

Quaint hotel right on the Deschutes. Perfect for a river loving family/group. We thought it would make an excellent location for a family reunion and will keep it in mind. Restaurant was great, good portion sizes, had plenty of gluten free options. After staying in Eagle Crest and Bend area for a couple days, this was the best restaurant we went to. Staff was accommodating and everything was clean. We had a laid back girls weekend just hanging out on the patio and playing cards. Would love to return some day.

Our group of 4 had a fantastic time on the river with our guide Bo. He made our rafting day fun, safe and full of laughter. We didn't get to stay at the lodge but lunch was great, and the lodge grounds beautifully landscaped along the Deschutes. We all agreed we will definitely be back to stay at the lodge and do a multiday, and we hope we get Bo again! Thank you for a great experience!

Half day rafting experience was absolutely fantastic. Conner (maybe Connor- sorry if misspelled) was the perfect guide for our group. Fun, interactive, allowed us to enjoy the rapids a bit more where we could as well as prepping us for routes available.

I just got back from a five-day trip with my 10 year old son... The guides were Bailey, Hickory and Ian. We had so much fun. The guides were EXCELLENT!!! Bailey and Hickory were on the boats with us... They made it so much fun and memorable! They were knowledgeable in the history of the area; telling us great stories about the river and surrounding areas. They knew the rapids; they kept us safe while still having fun! They kept all the guests involved by letting us row the boat on calm spots and answering all of our 1000s of questions. They made us feel like family! Ian did a phenomenal job on the gear boat! He found the BEST campsite; the campsites had room for all of us and a Bathroom!!! As a group they treated us like family and friends. They cooked great food. Played with the kids. Helped us catch fish. Took great care of our gear... This was the BEST father / son trip I could ask for!

I was shocked by this company. Not only was the river experience everything we hoped it would be, but the guides had a knowledge and a joyful camaraderie that made the experience above and beyond. To be fair I am pretty sure that you can not go wrong in Maupin, they have a river culture of rooting each other on I have not experienced anywhere! When we came back the next day to run it solo in our Kayaks all of the river guides were looking out for us, calling out swimmer when one of us got knocked out of our raft and cheering us on when we rallied through some of the popular rapids like box car. We had some great memories made here. If you have an opportunity to have Jody as your tour guide you won't be sorry, he is a Rockstar and will show you what's up on the Deschutes!

It was a very fun experience! There were a few areas of just relaxation to soak in the scenery. Aaron was such a great guide. He checked in with us often and got us into all the fun opportunities.

We recently hired DRA to take us down the river. We chose the PM time, which required we be there by 1:30. We arrived about 1:15 after driving from Portland and easily found the office. Everyone we encountered was friendly and thorough in explanations. We checked in quickly and were ready to go. Our guide, Taylor, was great about giving instructions and encouragement. We always felt safe, which was an important thing for us. The company provided tons of water on our raft, which was great since it was a very hot day. We had a great time and would (and will!) happily raft with DRA again.

Hell of a experience. The guide was amazing and funny. Would definitely use this company again. Lots and lots of fun.

Keith really killed us. He gave us the worst photos to look at - this man looked phenomenal in every photo while leaving the rest of my party looking like unidentified sea creatures. He was very demanding. If Keith said forward two, we went forward two. If Keith said all forward, we went all forward. If Keith had told us to jump off a cliff, we would have jumped so far. We put our trust in Keith. Beforehand, we were very nervous, but we came out of this experience with a love for rafting and only a single nose bleed.

My friends and I did the 3hr trip last Saturday and it was soo much fun!! Johnny was our guide, he was entertaining and knowledgeable. All of the staff were awesome, we will definitely be returning for an overnight trip some day.

We rented a ‘14 raft from Deschutes River Adventures and had them haul it down to harpham flat and then pick it up at sandy beach. They were very helpful and a pleasure to work with from reserving the raft to the day we arrived in Maupin to raft the river. Looking forward to the next rafting trip in Maupin!

This place is awesome!!! I went there with a couple of friends for my birthday and we all loved it! There are mostly class 2 and 3 rapids, but there is also a really fun class 4, which is called Oaks Spring. The guides are nice, friendly, fun, and funny. My guide was Pat and he was amazing! It was a 3 hour long trip and for pat of it you could swim. The best part was in the Upper Elevator (A Class 2 rapid) you could swim it! We all swam, including our guide! I had a blast! Recommended!!!!!!!!!

Great folks and super fun trip! Our guide Millie was wonderful-she made it fun and adventuresome but I still felt safe/looked after. They also have wet suits which made all the difference in the world b/c of all days we were there it rained!

Stunning falls and rapids. In season watch Native Americans net steelhead and salmon while perched precariously over white water.

Native Americans fishing traditionally, also with hook and line below the falls. A subsistence fishery for tribal members of The Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs on Tribal Land owned by the Tribe. Tribal member also harvest Pacific Lamprey (EELS) out of the nearby fish ladder in the hot summer nights for native food.

Relative of Joe Sherar. His niece was like his daughter. Joe was Irish and came to America as a baby
