Doesn’t exist no more due to Covid but it’s definitely worth going on a tour through the delta BUT: if you book a tour make it more than clear that you don’t travel around the world for souvenir shops and that you want to see the river and channels, nothing more. In the Cai Be zone, we got showed candy manufactures and other stuff what basically serves to navigate you through products. They insist for tips even though you didn’t ask nor booked for a souvenir shop tour. The river, channels and the local market where the floating market used to be are worth a visit.

So amazing loved every minute of this fascinating culture experience the boats the house boats the hammocks swinging on the Mekong delta river near Cambodia the village markets the temples being welcomed into there village and homes cooking with them loved it

Less popular than it used to be. Still interesting in seeing how local people trade. This way of life is disappearing. Another place in time. Can imagine 100s traders now only a few still follow the tradition.

Our day tour activity at Mekong Delta which takes about 2 hours drive from Ho Chi Minh City, we boarded a motor boat 🚤cruised along the Mekong River and the vast network of canals to enjoy the wonderful view and Cai Be Floating Market. Unfortunately, most of the business was closed due to the rain, we couldn't get any tropical fruits 🍌🍉🍍there, this is the reason I have to plan a return trip.....✌🏻Enjoyed a break for coconut water, fresh fruitsssss (jackfruit and dragon fruit😋)of Delta with Vietnamese traditional music performance🎶 in the fruit garden. Here landed an Island for the cottage industry: coconut factory🍬, honey🍯tea garden, rice paper workshop, pop rice workshop, handicraft workshop. Riverside lunch including rice paper roll🌯, a special 🐠elephant fish, chicken, vegetables soup .... yummy yum yum!!! Cycling around the village to end this fantastic tour🚲. 🚩 Group size: 9ppl with tour guide + driver Pick up: 7:30-8am@my hotel Drop off: 5:30-6pm@my hotel

The truth is that the floating market isn’t back to its pre Covid days but still beautiful and majestic especially if you manage to catch the sunrise.

Nothing much special to see if you are from Asia. The floating market is merely boats selling food stuff and fruits to tourists. The journey is too far from HCM city and not worth the time. Spent at least two hours plus on road to reach Mekong river.

Cai Be Floating Market is situated in the area where the Tien River meets the 3 provinces, Tien Giang, Vinh Long and Ben Tre. From Ho Chi Minh City, it will take you roughly 2 hours to travel by car to the wharf, followed by a one-hour boat ride. There are quite a few things you should keep in mind before visiting Cai Be Floating Market: - The boat rides will be somewhat rough and shaky, especially the traditional ones. Make sure you’re not a seasick type. - Put on enough sunscreens and insect repellant. Dress properly with light clothes, as it might get a bit cold early in the morning, and then very hot after 9 am. Bring along a hat. - Double check the price and stopping points before you hop on any boat. Don’t forget to take photos of a huge Catholic cathedral on the riverside, which will look best on photos taken from afar.

This Pagoda is the biggest one in the Mekong delta province. We visited it on our way back from the Meekong Delta tour. It was built in the early 19th century. The architecture has an influence of Vietnamese, Chinese and Cambodian style of building. It's got different Buddhas. Amaitabha Buddha, Laughing Buddha, Maitreya Buddha to name a few. There is also a statue of the lady Buddha as told by our guide. The garden area is surrounded with a lot of fruit bearing trees and bonsai trees. Inside, in the centre there is a beautiful garden.

Brought here by our tour guide and it was a magnificent sight seeing all the statues and architectures. Unfortunately due to the hot weather and limited time we didnt get to properly admire the place. Would love to visit at our own timing again if opportunity allows. Clean and pretty big place with lots of beautiful flowers outside. There are lots of stalls outside selling drinks and food and souvenirs. Do be cautious of the change given to you if you do purchase from roadside stalls.

It was a hot day and we were tired. But definitely worth a visit to this traditional Buddhist temple in Mekong delta. It has beautiful gardens of bonsai and Bougainvillea around it that are well maintained. Has 3 large installations of Buddha and laughing Buddha, with Ken if them being 24m tall. Worth a visit to this picturesque temple/pagoda.

Nice and clean, quaint place. You get to see different avatars of Buddha in giant statues. Main sanctuary is full of lovely bonsai and small rock gardens. They have a well stocked gift shop also. Ample parking available.

Beautiful pagoda on the way to Mekong Delta. Usually the first stop of any Mekong delta tour. They feature two giant sized white Buddha statue which are beautiful to look at. Also The place has amazing bougainvillea garden which we enjoyed a lot. A must visit place.

Whole area is beautifully designed and maintained by the monks. Huge Buddha statues tower over you as you explore the pagoda. Inside the pagoda you instantly feel the energy of the room. Big altar in the middle with various Buddha statues surrounding it where the locals take turns praying at each statue.

This pagoda is located very close to Mekong Delta and is usually made to be visited by the travel companies that are taking people for a day trip to Mekong Delta. This pagoda consists of many Buddha statues, that represent the past, present and the future. This pagoda is highly recommended for anyone who is going for a tour anywhere close to the Mekong Delta.

Vinh Trang Pagoda and the magnificent statues of Budhha are sights to behold. The huge reclining Buddha with smile of serene divinity brings about a feeling of absolute peace. The various styles of architecture followed in the design of the buildings were great and one is inspired to go back and learn more about them later. The premises are dotted with a large number of well designed and maintained Bonsai trees of various types. One may spend an hour or more in the premises. For us, a small group of tourists from Southern India, it was a most enjoyable experience. We also had the pleasure of a group of young students approaching us for a short interview of our experiences in this beautiful country.

Very peaceful place where Buddha seems is looking for you

It was an interesting stop on our way for a Mekong River Delta cruise and tour. Largest Buddha statues I've seen so far, and the complex is pretty. The inside of the actual temple isn't that impressive in my opinion, probably because it is a semi-recent temple as it was built some time in the mid-1800's. Not my favorite temple I've been to but certainly not the worst, seems more like a tourist trap stop than anything else though.

Surprised at how lovely it was & the variety of display. From the standing Buddha, the reclining Buddha & the 'happy' Buddha through the Pagoda & temple & the great toparies/bonsais it is lovely. There are toilets & souvenir shops on the site as well as shops immediately outside. As good as we have visited in Vietnam.

Extensive Buddhist monastery. It is actively being used, and will see monks going about their day. Much of it seems modern, it was unclear which part is from which century. It still looks very cool! It’s completely free. Be aware to take off your shoes when entering and enter from the Buddha/bodhisattva’s left side.

Vinh Trang Pagoda is the greatest pagoda of Tien Giang Province, in an area of 2,000m2 with many beautiful trees. It was built in 1849 in My Phong village, My Tho City, in the shape of  “Nation” letter of Chinese characters. The pagoda includes four large departments connected with each other: the front department, the main department, the worship department and the back department, bearing a combination of European-Asian architecture and creating a splendid beauty, solemnity, but purity. The beautiful structure features a mixture of Chinese, Vietnamese and Angkor (Cambodian) architectural styles. The pagoda consists of five buildings, two ornamental yards and 178 pillars. The extremely beautiful structures in the pagoda are two triumphal arches bearing an art of inserting bottle and porcelain fragments which create harmonious pictures illustrating the Buddha’s legendaries. Inside the pagoda, there is a set of pictures “eight angels riding on animals” another set of statues of the Amitabha Holy Trinity carved in bronze, as big as a man, and more particularly, the set of the eighteen Arhants, wood carving work, is the only one, not two, in the west of South Vietnam, made by a snumber of artists in 1907. Graves of Buddhist priests who took care of the pagoda are scattered around. These graves are decorated with carefully engraved flagstones. There are three entrances to the pagoda. The central iron gate is always closed, while the two side gates, which are designed in the co lau style are open. The side gates are adorned with colorful porcelain mosaics featuring Buddhist folktales and natural scenery. The facade of Vinh Trang Pagoda contains both Asian and European architecture including elements from the Renaissance period, Romanesque style, French decorative flowers and Japanese enameled tile. From afar, the pagoda resembles the five-tower Angkor Temple. According to locals, a monk named Minh Dan and an architect named Huynh Tri Phu traveled to Cambodia prior to building the pagoda for inspiration and eventually combined Khmer architecture with European styles for the pagoda. Vinh Trang Pagoda houses 60 precious statues made from copper, wood and terracotta. The most valuable collection is the 18 arhats made from jackfruit tree wood in 1907. Additionally, the pagoda has a bell that was cast in 1854. The pagoda is surrounded by gardens of ornamental trees, ancient trees and bonsai, creating a peaceful atmosphere. It provided shelter for Vietnamese patriots and is recognized as a national historical and cultural relic by the government.

This place is home to some of the largest buddha statues in Vietnam. Really impressive to walk around here. When your lucky, you might even witness one of the ceremonies of the monks at the monastery. Would recommend visiting this if you combine it with a day at the Mekong delta, because it’s a 2 hour drive from Saigon.

Very interesting place. Many of the sculptures are in good conditions. The history behind is incredible. Very well maintained and the greenery are good too.

A culturally rich park that showcases Vietnamese-Buddhist culture at its finest. From the unique architecture to the monks, Vinh Trang Pagoda offers a great tourist experience to those interested in the local culture. Do note it can get very hot, so I recommend coming in the early day or evening when the sun is less harsh.

Visiting this temple gave me the opportunity to learn and understand more about the history and religion, plus the traditions of this rich country . Will surly come back next year to pay my respect.

The shrine is called “Guang Zhao Assembly Hall” built in the late 1800’s by Cantonese immigrants from mainly Guang Zhou and Zhao Qing cities, Guang Dong, China. The shrine is dedicated to Taoist polytheism which Mazu, Jade emperor, and Guan Yu are three of them. The building is petite but nicely decorated with carved details taken from Chinese mythology (e.g., eight immortals crossing the sea). The shrine is extremely busy on full moon festivals and new year days.

China style temple, just visit and see for old Chinese sculpture , letter esp. hanging Perfumes .

This is where the regions history and contemporary spirituality intersect. Please dress and behave with deep respect as you are invited to enter sacred space. Note that Uncle Ho'd statue is just accross the street. This is not a coincidence.

Interesting temple with beehive like incense.

This is a signature tousrist attraction in Cantho, it placed in center of Cantho city and oppsite the Ninh Kieu wharf. This a Chinse style temple with many details reminded us about Chinese culture but still have something of Vietnamese. It should on your must visit places list when you come to visit this city.

Small, tráictional and mysterious feeling. Nothing special and ichy for your eyes because lots of smoke. But it’s identical and worth to stop in a short time. My recommend is spending a few minutes with the man sitting at the table on the right side to get some advise for your life. His words might not help much but his attitude and point of view will empower you and make you stronger.

Historic place with mixed Western and Eatern architecture in Can Tho. No need to buy ticket in advance. Not so crowded in week days. Lot of tours come here but you can visit here by yourself

This place is suitable for people who are interested with history and culture. If you want to find an entertaiment purpose, you should consider well. The price of ticket is just 20k.

An old house in Can Tho, and very nice for taking photo with “Ba ba” costume. The entrance fee was 50000 per person.

It is an old house built in 1900 by Chinese business migration to Long Xuyên near Mekong River. As he mixes with decorations from French and Vietnamese.

20k for visiting 50k if you take pictures. The guy took my fees but later on said no if I used drones. It's a certified national historical place but inside it's dusty and unorganized. I felt being looked at and unwelcoming the entire time.

The ticket price is VND 20k, not really special house House interior looks like antique stuff collection decorations, I dont like the terrace and front house fences newly yellow color painted. The owner or the guard unfriendly or without preface introduction to visitors ( he might be happy with the ticket enter collect) 😉😉😉

First of all, probably because I am Vietnamese, the house doesn't look that special to me, there are nothing much to take picture. Second of all, I understand that the owner take the fee to maintain the house but from the way the house look and the attitude of the person that took the fee, I don't recommend anyone to visit it, since it just a waste of time. Tourist can literally see that kind of architect everywhere in Vietnam old houses that you don't need to pay to enter. About the fee, I don't really care if I need to pay the fee to enter as it's normal if I want to visit a historical place. The attitude of the person that took the fee was what made me dislike. As I walked through the big door, I saw no one that would take the fee, and there are groups of foreigners that there at the same time with me. My group is 4 peoples. When we was about the enter the house, one person came out and asked for the fee. Two persons in my group haven't take any picture and they didn't want to enter either cause it's nothing much to see, so at that time they told us they will step outside. The person that took the fee hear that and he suddenly said the fee was count as we stepped through the big door. He then take 50k from each of us. Remember the groups of foreigners that came at the same time with me but didn't enter the house, he didn't come to take the fee from them. To be honest, 50k is not that much but from the way that person act, I really feel discriminated even in my own country. The trip didn't take longer than 15 minutes as there's nothing much to see. If you're planning on visit this place I don't recommend it. And if you still want to visit I recommend do not enter the house. If you're not Vietnamese they will not dare to come outside and ask for the fee.

Couldn’t resist and not visit this place if you’re in Sa Dec, the famous movie The Lover. It might have seen better days, but still a good place to put in some time and explore the place for an hour. Had a Viet tour guide that really explain this house in depth and what happened to the occupants

visit this place on a sunday morning. recommend you to contact the host before coming so that they can be prepared for your best experience. if you come in small group and didnt place a reservation, may have to overheard a bigger group because we did the same. 40k/pax including a tour guide, lotus tea and candied ginger. around 9:30am to 3pm is peak hours may need a little wait. the house is known for its unique mixture of viet, french and chinese architecture but mainly thru the movie 'the lover'. besides things related to the movie, tourist will see a view of the chinese-vietnamese culture here. also the vọng cổ performance 🙌🏼 we were really lucky to have a chat with chú xưởng, he was so welcoming and support us. cảm ơn chú! fyi: they do accept booking for staying in their 2 bedrooms for 500k/night. for more info, pls contact the management board.

Let me tell you about this hidden gem I stumbled upon in Sa Dec - Nhà cổ Huỳnh Thủy Lê. It's this old house tucked away on a bustling street, and from the outside, it doesn't quite hit you how grand it is. But step inside, and wow. The minute you walk through the doorway, you're transported back in time. Dark, polished wood dominates the interior, with intricate carvings that look like they must have taken forever to create. The air is thick with the scent of old wood and something else I couldn't quite place, maybe history? There's a real sense of reverence in the place, like it's seen so much life pass through its doors. The coolest part for me was the blend of styles. You can see the Chinese influence in the ornate decorations, but then there are these details that feel very French, with high ceilings and big windows. It's like the house itself tells a story of cultural exchange, which isn't surprising considering Sa Dec's history. I wouldn't say it's the most interactive place - it's more like a time capsule you get to wander through. But if you're into history and beautiful architecture, definitely don't miss it. There's a calmness to the place, a real escape from the noise of the city outside. I left feeling like I had a glimpse into the life of a wealthy Sa Dec family from a bygone era.

It is no longer a tourist attraction as some creepy local dudes (might be drug users) took over the house for his personal use. You wont be able to see the interior. What a pity, this is such a beautiful home , i made a plan to cycle 500km to see it and was disappointed. But here is some pictures

Very interesting to see, especially if you know the film. Free entry. Not much to see but definitely worth popping in as it’s right next to the big market. There are very clean toilets available for use at the back of the house.

Not much thing to see here. The house is quite small. Even the tour guide spends only 1.5 mins to introduce all info you need to know. But near river bank and local market where you can enjoy the people daily life. Ticket price 20k vnd (tourguide included)

Well worth a visit if you are in thre area. The home is of literary interest and is very interesting as an example of early 20th century Indochinese architecture. Visit does not take long unless you elect to linger over your Green tea, as we did. The local guide we had was very informative and animated in her description of the literary connection! Enjoy!

If you read the book or have seen the film it might be of some interest. If you are a fan of carved wood it might be of interest. For me the most interesting aspect was the sweet young things taking pictures of each other in a “romantic setting”
