It's an eye-opening experience. I learned so much in just a short amount of time. My partner had been reluctant to come with me ("it sounds boring"), but even he was intrigued and wanted to stay longer once we were there. The booths and exhibits have a lot of variety, as well as really important information about history you might've never heard before. Aside from that, the museum has a really unique design and layout, making it a really memorable, unforgettable experience.

The Canadian Museum for Human Rights is the coolest wedding venue ever! As a wedding photographer, I've shot at some amazing places, but nothing compares to the stunning architecture and breathtaking views at this museum. The natural light pours into the space, making every shot look absolutely magical. And the staff are like wedding ninjas, making sure every detail is perfect and every guest is happy. They truly go above and beyond to ensure everyone has an amazing time. But what really sets the Canadian Museum for Human Rights apart is the feeling you get when you're there. It's hard to describe, but every bride and groom I've worked with have said the same thing - they feel like they're getting married in the coolest place ever. Maybe it's the modern design or the unique exhibits, but there's just something about this museum that makes it feel special. If you want a wedding venue that's not only beautiful but also unforgettable, the Canadian Museum for Human Rights is the perfect choice.

It's one of the most attractive and prominent landmarks of Winnipeg which is probably to a great extent the face of Winnipeg. The architecture of this place is mind blowing. Myself personally a great admirer of architecture this was a perfect architectural gem which i couldn't have missed. You can book the tickets in advance to visit the museum, the museum is divided into several floors each having a separate section . You can spend hours and hours inside the museum but you would still feel you didn't have the most of it. The show stopper is on the 8th floor the tower where you can see the panoramic view of the city. I wish I could see the sunset from the tower but unfortunately the sunset is Winnipeg summers is too late. I would highly recommend visiting this place. All lovers of architecture and history should visit and i am sure you'll be enlightened after returning back

I like to go to the museum. And we got some different types of museums in Winnipeg, Human Rights is the one I’m surprised about it. I couldn’t finished to read and see what they have in a day!! They have so many good things, history and something to learn and think in the museum! Knowledge is power, human rights will be a step to another higher level/place for us. We don’t talk about color, country, age… we care about what is human rights and how to do to make this world better. Learn from our history and do the right things. No matter who you are !!

Great in so many elements. The message and purpose of educating people on human rights issues is very well done. The layout and quality of the exhibits enhances the learning experience with clear visual and auditory presentations. The building architecture is beyond describing as it is so unique and beautiful. The friendly staff were icing on the cake. Well done.

Powerful and modern museum. A good place to go, learn, and reflect. I'd say save aside 5+ hours to go through the museum. 2 exhibits were being changed over and I still was there for quite a while. Many of the exhibits are interactive and can be listened to outloud or with headphones (blue tooth or jack). Also there are many exhibits that are built with accessibility in mind (as well as ramps/elevators and washrooms on each floor) so I'd check out all those features online before going.

I have traveled to 63 countries and 9 provinces in Canada. I only had two days in Manitoba, and I visited this museum both days. The Human Rights Museum is the best museum we have in the country. It is super close to Esplanade Riel and The Forks Market, and just a kilometre away from the Art Gallery and Legislative Building. So the location is perfect too. I spent a total of five hours at this museum total. It costs $18 per ticket. So if you have to come here a second day, you'll pay $36. Definitely take your time here. Don't rush it. There isn't much else to do in Winnipeg, anyway. Note: It is closed on Mondays. I spent one extra day in Regina because of that and waited until Tuesday to travel to my next province on my cross Canada trip.

So much to see and learn. We did not read it all in 1 visit so we came back a second time. Our teens enjoyed it here. The architect is amazing and the view is incredible. You have a choice of taking the elevator or walking. You will get in a good workout walking it all. The staff was very polite, helpful and friendly.

At the time, Covid restrictions were ramping up but the staff were extremely helpful and attentive to ensure all measures were followed. Beautiful displays! The interior of the building was quite surprising considering such a bold exterior design. Definitely would recommend a visit.

It's an intriguing space, but the walk is tricky. I feel like there is both too much info and not enough at the same time. I just think it feels disjointed as an exhibit, with no sense of cohesion in the narrative. If that was the goal, then it's spot on. I did like the Holodomor exhibit and the Ukrainian tribute. It's appreciated.

We love working with the event staff at the Canadian. Museum for Human Rights! The venue is amazing to hold events at and the staff incredible to work with. Super friendly and organized!! They make it easy for us to set-up our photo booths at the various events we are rented for!!

Be prepared to do alot of walking. Very interesting museum. Lots of history. Exhibitions get smaller the higher you go up. Tower has pretty views. Indigenous people get in for free, which is pretty cool.

Worth visiting - we spent four hours learning our way through the seven floors of this unique and important museum. It leads one through darkness of man’s inhumanity to man and through the healing alabaster ramps, towards thought, hope, and light in the tower. Many displays, interactive stations, videos and art work share information. Guides are helpful - we especially appreciated Sarah 😀 Unfortunately we didn’t know there were not guided tours after summer hours although we intercepted many - so book one in advance - we didn’t know that. Also the cloud coffee shop is disappointing in that gluten free items listed were no longer an option and prices were high. Perhaps practice what is being presented and source local groups to run the shop and source local bakers, producers to rotate through.

A journey from darkness to light. This museum is incredible! You really need to have an eye for the interior and the design to truly appreciate the architecture that lies in and out of the building. From the alabaster ramps, to basalt rocks , to huge glass windows, the architecture is a timeless masterpiece! When you enter inside it's pretty dim and as you go up in each floor - it gets lighter and lighter, until you reach the tower of hope. Which lies at the very top of the building that overlooks the city and downtown Wpg. It's a wrap around that gives you panoramic 360 view of the forks. The exhibits within the museum are amazing with the story and history behind it - although you need to have an appreciation for history and the willingness to learn in order to truly understand each exhibit. It's very rich in history and so captivating. As you go throughout the museum you'd find a few things in each exhibits that allows you to interact with it. I should mention that there is a lot of walking since this place is MASSIVE. This museum is for everyone - though the target audience is intended for older folks and young children might be bored since the exhibits contains a lot of information that's intended for an older audience. This museum is mainly focused on HUMAN RIGHTS - especially coming from a Canadian point of view. It has 8 floors which are all wheelchair accessible & the atmosphere of the museum has a calming aura. This museum is powerful, modern, a place to go learn and reflect.

On my 2nd visit to Winnipeg, I made a point to revisit this museum. It was very moving, a bit depressing, but hopeful. The staff made me feel welcomed at every turn.

The Canadian Museum for Human Rights was a powerful and well laid out exhibit. Each room had a dedicated person to help navigate and provide additional information. The information on the main displays was plain (in a good way) so it would be accessible to people from different age ranges and backgrounds. It also had several languages available to choose from. More in-depth information could be found on terminals all through the museum. The building itself was a beautiful universal design. My husband and I walked the whole thing bottom to top, even reaching the top of the tower. It was a lot bigger than we expected so budget at least a few hours if you’re someone like me who reads everything.

Great museum to spend a few hours and learn about the history of human rights and their violations around the world. Great videos and exhibits. Not busy so you can thoroughly enjoy and read the information in the exhibits. Has elevator access to the top of the tower which has a nice of the city.

Words are inadequate for the rush of emotion you experience while visiting. A word of advice: patience. Take your time at each exhibit because all are worthy of being seen to their fullest. Well planned exhibits, beautiful architecture and outside should be visited as well.

Absolutely stunning museum. The amount of history and didactic material makes the experience unique. The exhibits are quite well maintained, everything looks modern and it really enjoyed my experience there. It sets the proper atmosphere to reflect and learn from the errors of the past.

The architecture is phenomenal and the building is designed in such a way to be all part of the experience of what you are seeing and learning about human rights and the architecture helps in experiencing and feeling emotions relative to human rights. The exhibits are so informative, thought provoking, and some are extremely hard to swallow. The museum is so thought provoking. Everyone should have to experience this museum. The overall experience is so moving and emotional. Be prepared to grapple with the human experience. Again, such an awe inspiring and hopeful experience especially ending in the Israeli tower of hope. Again, everyone should experience this museum.

One of the best museums I have been into. Displays are interactive and poignant. As a member of Amnesty International this visit was very meaningful to me. The view is also excellent on the top floor as you can see the entirety of Winnipeg.

A good place to visit and stroll around. But if you plan to do an in-depth viewing, would take an entire day to go through all the information and floors. The view at the observation tower was amazing.

This is an outstanding museum, in terms of its architecture, exhibits, and people, and yet I find it overlooked beyond Winnipeg. It makes Winnipeg a must-visit city! It’s hard not to be awed by the museum’s architecture, both from afar and close-up. I didn’t see photos of the museum’s interior before my visit and I was so amazed by the criss-crossing, gently ascending and illuminated stair design and how that is woven into the museum visiting experience as you are taken from one exhibit to the next. And when I got to the atrium, my jaws just dropped. Overall, the museum is a great place for architecture photography! As an architecture enthusiast, I feel that if the same building is placed in cities such as New York, Barcelona or Singapore, it would have received a lot more well-deserved fanfare. However, I am glad it is situated in Winnipeg as it is a marvelous centrepiece of the city. The museum’s stunning architecture brings attention to its excellent and rich exhibits. There are several galleries, each with a different theme. I really liked the permanent exhibit that reflects on the experiences and discrimination felt by different groups of people in Canada. I felt that it should be an ever-growing exhibition as our values and the meaning of human rights continue to develop. The Holocaust exhibit is also impressive and sombre, and extremely timely. There are also a lot of interactive and multimedia elements to make the visit more engaging. For example, I really liked the area on the upper levels where visitors are invited to write and post notes on what human rights mean to them. Note that the exhibits are very dense and I felt that I only scratched the surface by viewing and reading, so I might try joining a guided tour during my next visit to learn more. A visit to the museum would be incomplete without checking out the observation area in the spiral, which is accessible by stairs and elevator. It has great views of the Forks, St Boniface and other parts of Winnipeg, so make sure you budget time for that. I also love how the museum has plenty of seating spaces, especially the reflection area and the cafe. If I were living in Winnipeg, I would purchase a membership in a heartbeat and visit these areas in the museum for quiet reading or studying. Last but not least, the museum staff I’ve encountered and spoken with were all really friendly, just like most other people I’ve met in Manitoba. The human aspect makes the visit stand out just that bit more.

Only museum about the importance of human rights, describing all the incidents of the past which happened in Canada and around the world. It’s free on Sundays and the coat check is free. The staff is super friendly and helpful.

Incredibly moving experience. The setup of the stories, the vignettes, and the interactive nature of the exhibits made for a great experience. The architecture and natural materials used throughout the spaces were calming and absolutely gorgeous. Worth the time and resulted in good dialogue with my family after our visit. Highly recommend lunch at the bistro as well.

I really enjoyed the view to the Prairie Dogs land, their sounds made this place peaceful even though is not, interesting art and sculptures. I heard that this place is one of the favorites for people who lives on Winnipeg. The Forks also have variety of food and a nice outdoor seating area.

Absolutely beautiful place to enjoy the summers. The calmness of the Red river with the greeneries around is a cherry on cake. It's pretty close to the Forks Market and you can enjoy walking along the banks of the river or bir along the banks of the river. It's popularly called the heart of Winnipeg Downtown and it literally lives up to its popularity.

The place to visit in downtown Winnipeg, this location beautifully located along the two rivers that meet in the area offers a little bit of everything. There is history, scenery, art, recreation, shopping, food, museums, and other points of interest. The entire area is quiet accessible and is very walkable. Great views of the river and the downtown skyline. Good food offerings. Close walk to the bridge across the river for more sightseeing.

Hands down, the Forks is the best place to visit in Winnipeg! Very romantic park setting and scenic along the Red River. In the summer, we took the guided boat tour which is inexpensive and about 90 minutes long. You'll see numerous musical shows on weekends. Temperatures that summer in July were about 82 degrees Fahrenheit. In the winter in November and March when it was 14 degrees (which is considered balmy here), the area which usually has events becomes an ice-skating rink and there's a small makeshift hockey rink across from it. The Forks Market was a pleasant surprise. Every lunch and dinner location we tried was delicious and fairly priced. The BEST croissants I've ever tasted are at the Tall Grass Prairie Bakery. Don't let the long line scare you as you'll be served within minutes. In my most recent stay, I was at the Inn at the Forks. It's very pricey, but worth it to get a great scenic view in the morning and is in the heart of the park. It's only a 15-20 minute walk to downtown Winnipeg. On a negative note, on my last night in 2020, I took some souvenir photos at midnight along the scenic river and was followed all the way back to the hotel by a meth addict who thought I was taking photos of him and yelling at me. I had to kick the guy out of the hotel as no one from the front desk wanted to get involved or call police. Sadly, there were some high profile events in 2022 of folks being beaten, stabbed and robbed in the Forks...and this occurred in daylight. I hope they will add cameras in the park that were lacking when I was last there. Because of the growing drug and crime issue in the area, I was going to give it a 4 star review instead of a 5. Hopefully, law enforcement will beef up their presence here because it really is a BEAUTIFUL place to be, regarding of the season. I hope the Forks will give you the same enjoyment and positive memories that it gave me and will ALWAYS hold a special place in my heart!

Fascinating piece of Winnipeg history. The boat ride was excellent explaining how a rivertown changed after the railway came to town.

The Forks National Historic Site is located at very prominent location in the middle of Winnipeg Manitoba Canada. This place is close to Downtown and St Boniface Neighbourhood. There are lots of activities to do like boating, skating, photography, eating, drinking, cycling, walking and many more fun activities with family and friends. Lots of parking space available. Well maintained and decorated areas to view and enjoy.

This park is a great family visit during the warm months, perfectly justifying a quick jaunt to Winnipeg. During the cold months there is a skating rink, and still quite a lot to do. Note the beautiful views of the Red River and Assiniboine Rivers joining. You'll easily find quick access to museums, restaurants, gift stores, attractions, and transports deeper into historical Winnipeg.

Beautiful during any season. There are so many fun activities. I absolutely love this place and it is a must see.

Good place to bring a non-Manitoban visitor - decent varities of restaurants inside the market, may have concerts/events, playground for kids, museums around, a historical site, some spa and gift shops, hotel/s around, and you can also go for a tour on a boat!

Regardless what you like to do, just go there and enjoy. Museum, zoo, hiking, biking, family gathering, probably barbecuing, cricketing, soccer, kids toy land, restaurants, some festivals, and so and so ... they all are opportunities you may experience it in the park to have fun. What I like more over there, is photographing. Stunning landscape beside the river, including different types of animals, during summer and winter time, make it fascinating! Have a fun!

Amazing place to visit. Something to do for everyone. Very close to the Trans-Canada Highway so you can make quick stop to stretch legs and enjoy the beautiful park. Loved the different areas with very well maintained park infrastructure. I would definitely recommend visiting different attractions in the park.

The pavilion has an art museum inside on 2nd and 3rd floors. Please do visit inside and feel free to donate as the gallery is free. The visitor desk person was so friendly and helpful.

We checked out the new Diversity Gardens at the Park today. It was a beautiful fall day and the gardens still looked very nice. There were lots of people out enjoying the day, but it didn't feel crowded at all. There are several walking and bike paths, and plenty of benches and seating if you need a rest. Very enjoyable!

Beautiful, expansive park with lots of different places to go: Leo Mol Sculpture Park, Gardens at The Leaf, English Gardens, Nature Playground, and the Pavilion. And it's all free!! Great for all ages (nature playground especially for kids).

It’s a really nice place to enjoy. You can rent cycles and roam around, chill near the red river, enjoy Sargent sundae ice cream, visit the museum that’s near by. It’s an amazing place to have camps and enjoy with family and friends.

Assiniboine Park is the place to be! The park has a lot of green space. Perfect for picnics, walking, and playing sports in the summer. It also has a great ice rink and a hill for tobogganing in winter. Great for families and anyone who wants to enjoy their time outdoors. With the addition of the new Garden and The Leaf, Assiniboine Park has now been my all time favorite place to pass time and to catch up with friends.

A great place to spend time with family and friends. If you're wondering where to throw a picture perfect picnic straight outta Pinterest, Assiniboine Park is the place to go. Also a great place for an early morning run or a bike ride.

Within the city boundary of Winnipeg Assiniboine park is best park anyone can visit. From bicycle path to several in spot cafeteria to several divided theme Small park's, animal zoo, cricket practicing net. It has almost everything anyone can expect from a park to be. It's a great place for small family BBQ party or small get-together.

Went to the leaf, and walk around a bit. Also had a great diner in the leaf. It is great the evolution of the park since I used to live near here as a kid. Saw some great flowers at leaf and insects shaped from plants. Planing a bile trip here soon.

Vast and spacious, lots of green. Clean, you can scarcely spot any garbage on the grass. I like their cafe and the barbecue zone, also the adult bar zone, where you can have a shot or two and grab a bite.

On Thanksgiving we visited Assiniboine Park's Duck Pond, English Garden, Leo Mol sculptures and the Pavilion's two floors of art galleries. Great time as always because there were lots of clean well maintained paths, easily found a parking spot and was budget-friendly. It's easy to spend hours watching people, birds, cyclists or looking at all the beautiful flowers, sculptures and artwork(pavilion).

A park which you can very enjoy in the cold weather. It's a pleasure to have a little walk in the park. If you can see the train, it's like the last century's horn blow in your ear.

This park has so many attractions. The steam train is great for kids. The English garden is so beautiful in the summer… great for an outdoor run on a nice day. The sargent sundae is right across from the park…how convenient for ice cream lovers. Go inside the pavilion and explore the galleries. Highly recommended!

This park is undoubtedly the crown jewel of our city. It's a fantastic oasis filled with picturesque spots and photo-worthy locations. Whether you're planning a picnic or simply seeking a nature escape, this place has it all. My wholehearted recommendation goes out to this remarkable park.

This is a large park with the zoo, an arboretum, lots of open areas for picnics and games. But best of all is the English garden. Beautifully maintained, docents walking about to answer questions, good plant labeling, stunning plantings.

Been rollerblading at this park since 1993. Decided to return and hoped to see some favorite places and the new additions. Sadly, most paths are in desperate need of being repaved. My wheels were constantly getting stuck, the paths are still made using the old rock path that vibrates my wheels. My feet were numb by the end of my two hour trip. This is also not great for push scooters. So young kids will find it difficult, especially when they have to pass over the tar filled lines. The park has made some great upgrades but their paths are totally lacking and they need to be upgraded as not everyone uses bikes on the walking paths. Would love to see some funds used to upgrade the paths. Some paths even have full on weeds growing between the cracks on the cement paths. I'm thankful that I am quite solid on my blades and did not fall, but I can see some adults and kids taking a tumble. Love that the paths have remained open, but they are in desperate need of an upgrade. Love the extra kid zones, old Beach volleyball courts, BBQ spots, new additions and the Pavillion where I saw a wedding taking place on a Friday afternoon.

Glad to have visited this zoo where we saw a variety of animals in particular those from boreal and arctic habitats. Staff are nice and knowledgeable. We visited in the winter spring time and the outdoor pathways have horrible drain system not keeping paths puddle free. Will visit again but not in this season.

Went with my cousins to the park on a Friday. It has been awhile since we went here. Lots of kids due to a field trip so it was pretty busy. It was a really hot day and almost all of the animals in the zoo are hiding so we didn’t see much of them. Although, we got lucky enough to see the polar bears outside playing and wrestling around. It was still a good visit over all. We enjoyed the day there!!

Our family had a very nice trip to the zoo. Lots of walking, my feet are pulsing, but worth it! Would recommend to go on a mild, overcast or even rainy day as, if too hot, the animals will hide and you won't see much. I thought it was well-laid out and taken care of, neat and tidy. Appreciated all the boards with little timbit facts, cool! The volunteers/workers we came into contact with were friendly and knowledgeable. Highlights were the polar bears/seals, gibbon and tiger exhibit and the dinosaurs - best mini donuts ever close by! ⭐

We went here on a Wednesday afternoon and we pretty much owned the entire zoo. There was only a handful of people so it was pretty chill and quiet tour. At first I thought the $20 per pax entrance fee was steep but when I saw the polar bears, I was like… it’s all worth it. I was soooo happy that I got to see them playing in the pool. They were sooo adorable. We’ve got to see gibbons and snow owl too! Definitely worth a visit! What did the buffalo say to his son when he left for college? Bison.

Absolutely love the zoo! The emphasis is on Canadian animals which is great because it means most of them can actually enjoy the winters here. Highly recommend going in the winter for the best experience, less crowds, and the animals are way more active!

This is a great zoo! The polar bear and seal underwater walkway is amazing!!! Lots of other animals to see also. Easily walked in 2-4 hours depending on how much time you spend reading the displays. Super fun dinosaur area with animatronic creatures! Easy (and free) parking. We had a very enjoyable time.

This was one of the most beautiful amazing trip we have had. We are thrilled to see lots of interesting animals for the first time. I highly recommend you to bring your whole family and enjoy the adventure together at Assiniboine Park & Zoo. There are also plenty of activities you can explore inside the park.

First time to be here. Unfortunately, there are some animals not available, but it is still a good place to explore and unwind. Good for all ages. Just be patient, for it is a long way for walking. There are also snack shops and picnic areas available. All in all, it is a great experience! 🙌🏼

We were excited to see the polar bear swimming there. Coz we went to Winnipeg for competition, we visited the zoo before flying back. The staff was so amazing. Even though they don’t have luggage service, they also helped us stored our stuff in the office.

Great zoo, but lots of puddles and geese. Many animals are inside or huddled when it's cold out but got to see a few. Good day to see the fossils and robo dinosaurs without crowds.

Great zoo with plenty of interesting and exciting animal enclosures! Though it’s been a few years since I visited (around 3 years), I remember it being a well put together experience, with animals I haven’t seen before. I went during Winter and there were many snowy animals on display outside, from arctic foxes to wolves and other wildlife. The indoor displays were equally impressive, with a nice stingray pool which you can approach and do some petting as well! A really nice polar bear exhibit as well. The gift/souvenir shop is quite cool as well with a ton of things to buy. Good pricing for zoo admission from what I remember. There are also zoo lights around winter time as well! Highly recommend this zoo if you’re in the Winnipeg area!

Easy to purchase tickets online and save a few dollars (and skip the cue on a busier day.) Friendly staff and volunteers were all around the park which was lovely. Lots of signage to reorient yourself amidst the enclosures. I went on a very hot day so some.ofnthe animals (Amur Tigers) were a bit shy (hiding to keep cool I imagine.) And I only saw one wolf and one polar bear, which was a bit disappointing, I was hoping to see several knowing how many live at the zoo. That being said, it was a lovely walkabout, with plenty of educational displays surrounding the enclosures. In terms of amenities, it's fairly no-frills. No lockers are available for guests BUT you're welcome to pack your own food and water. There were lots of families with wagons who clearly had the right idea. It could definitely be a lot of walking for young ones or those with mobility challenges, and can certainly be a very hot and sunny day if the weather calls for it. Dress accordingly! Picnic areas were mostly shaded but the rest of the route was full sun so be prepared.

If the polar bears are swimming, you're in for a real treat! Some of the zoo is sure showing its age - but it's still a great way to spend the day! We bought a membership, and definitely recommend going on a weekday or a Sunday as long as it's not a holiday - Mother's/Father's Day were bonkers busy!

Our visit this summer was good, kids had fun and enjoyed different areas of the zoo. They liked the Polar Bear indoor structure. We had trouble finding it since there are no clear signs for it, even though it was in the map. It is located inside the building where the Tundra Grill Restaurant is. There are water refillable stations that spread throughout the zoo. The tram was nice too. The dinosaur exhibit is always a hit. The wildlife rescue was interesting, they had the turtle which the kids found amusing. The polar bears were visible and some wild cats. The seals are always fun to watch. One observation was areas that looks like it should have water for the animals seemed to be dry. Perhaps it is meant to be that way. It might look better if it had water especially when it is very hot and sunny ☀️. The other areas of improvement are the prices of the stuffies for the gift shop. It would sell more if it is reasonable but it is pricey. The visit was indeed a good experience.

A Must-Visit in Winnipeg! I had the pleasure of visiting the zoo in Winnipeg about a month before Halloween and was pleasantly surprised to see the beautiful Halloween decorations adorning the place. The festive atmosphere only added to the overall experience. The highlight for me was the polar bears. I’ve always been fond of them, and seeing so many in one place was truly a treat. But it wasn’t just about the polar bears; the zoo offers a diverse range of animals which captivated my attention throughout my visit.

What a great way to enjoy a nice October day in Winnipeg. Several areas were unavailable due to the 'BOO AT THE ZOO' event that started this weekend and runs til Halloween. (But that fantastic event is worth it) Fantastic enclosure improvements since I was last here. Particularly liked the seals and polar bear areas. The most active other animals by far were the Amur tigers and the monkeys. We also enjoyed an active look at the wolves and arctic fox.

Went for the Zoo Lights and it was a pretty good time. Lots of cool displays, and got to see the odd animal out and about. Decent price for about an hour’s worth of something to do. I recommend going to it next winter time.

Very nice and clean .. most of the animals were sleep 😴 but we enjoyed it ..there is several species from the wild life .. the fees are a bit high regarding that we didn't see much but we saw some good stuff 👍 thanks

Super!!! A very beautiful place. Lots of animals and nice atmosphere. It is better to choose a not very hot day to visit the zoo, then most of the animals will not be hiding from the sun and you can enjoy it. On site you can eat ice cream and have a snack in the cafe. There is also a souvenir shop. Great place for the whole family.

This was such a nice festive experience! Definitely go if you are a new parent. Walking at night in between all the lights, surrounded by other friendly families amounted to a peaceful, exciting and safe evening. Our toddlers were into it. There were several fire pits available to sit by, the Tundra grill was open as well as various refreshment stands. People were playing glowing games available throughout the zoo, trying out glowing hula hoops, and getting lost in a small maze.

The tigress and the underwater tunnel in the seal world are quite a highlight in my view. One star less because some of the viewing glass windows could use a good cleaning to allow a clear view of the animals inside.

This happens to be my first, personal zoo visit. It was an indepth experience where each animals detail was place just by the enclosure. I enjoyed the performance from the Seals and Tiger. The zoo has electric scotters for persons with disabilities and a detailed and readable map at all areas. The most exciting part for me was seeing all the animals healthy and lively

Is a good Zoo with many selection of animals from some different part of the world. We had a nice time and walk around the zoo. Not too big but its quite nice place. We had to see the Polar Beer which has an outdoor area. The Sally Farm and The Seal are amazing as well as the Dinosaur Park. Maybe could add some more activities area and more selection of restaurant.

The museum was amazing. The way it has been organized to show the advancement and evolution from the beginning till now, is exceptional. Visiting this museum doesn't just amaze the kids, it's thrilling to the adults as well, or exciting and engaging to all. Special mention to the voyage experience! The reason why I have 4/5 stars is for the lack of excitement factor in the space and science sections. After visiting the main museum you built in so much expectations towards the other two sections, but I m sure they will disappoint you. So spend the most time in the main museum section, I would say. Also at the reception, only the show timings of the planetarium was mentioned and not the shows in specific, this was misleading as we ended up watching a lesson on constellations instead of the movie on northern lights. Also, it's better for students to get their in-person tickets as they have a student offer which was not seen in the website.

Definitely a must-visit place if you’re visiting Winnipeg or just haven’t been in a while. It’s got so much to see and learn about. I was excited to see some old displays going strong, as well as the new additions and renovations. I loved exploring the dinosaur area. The museum looks great! You can spend a couple of hours here, or a full day if you wanted to. There’s a planetarium as well which has shows to check out.

This was a great place to go. It's filled with a ton of cool things to look at and they even added on new things from when I was last there. They even have a pirate boat that you can go into a look around . I truly loved it.

Very interesting and informative. My Grade 3 students absolutely enjoyed every detailed display. Their favorite parts were the dinosaurs and the Nonsuch. I, myself, would love to go back and finish seeing what I walked by too quickly. Definitely worth the trip.

My kids never get tired of going here. We try to go at least once a year, usually on the free Friday nights (so thankful they do this). The ship is incredible and the entire town. My kids love the dinosaur section and the 1920s Winnipeg town. Wow. Those are the favourites we always must visit but we love it all. They also live the children's museum but that is a little rundown. Sometimes we go to the planetarium but the kids have often found these shows less than exciting. Some are good, others a little slow. I wish they had more outer space stuff.

One of the most amazing museums I've been to. I'm new to Canada and drive myself reading every placard about everything being exhibited. I can't believe they built part of the the museum around a full-size, sailing replica of a trading ship. If I have one complaint is that the museum is not laid out all that well (i.e. navigating through all the exhibit halls is difficult). A few areas have arrows to guide you. The entire museum needs those arrows and possibly better signage. But one trip and I learned more about Winnipeg/Manitoba/Canada and its history than I've learned the previous 62 years of my life. Awesome!

It’s absolutely amazing, and a nice place to spend the day with family. Lots of exhibits, from the dinosaurs display to the First Nation People Gallery, from learning about the ancient to modern history. The museum is large with pretty nice interiors and well-displayed artifacts. The staff also polite and helpful. One thing I would suggest is that they should increase the closing time.

Just an overall great visit. From the helpful hostess as you enter giving you the run down on all the museum and aspects of the building entails; as there are 3 different attractions in one here plus the theater presentations, to the clerks who help you choose the appropriate package to purchase for your visit - it was well worth going. My son is 15, so finding something not related to a movie or gaming for the 2 of us to do together is a bit tricky. But this was a great venture for him and I to do together. The Ship Replica is AWESOME!!

Absolutely amazing! Had a wonderful time. Definitely one of the good museums with lots of interactivity. Great experience, enjoyed the visit so much. We spent almost 3 hours and didn't go to the planetarium. This museum is a MUST if you're visiting Winnipeg 10/10

Definitely one of the good ones, clean and well maintained. It’s an entire day event, they have some really nice exhibits. The planetarium is definitely a must visit. They have paid parking right beside the building.

A beautiful illustration of the Manitoba metamorphosis from prehistoric times, through fur trade to modern times. All floors are #wheelchair accessible and detailed with appropriate information. I thought 2hrs was gonna be enough until the museum closed on me. Will make plans to revisit. And a point to note, all museums have paid parking. I missed this and had to pay $89

My friend and I had a wonderful time. The displays are informative, awe inspiring and well presented. We love the section on dinosaurs. However, the Planetarium's area and its seats are dated and there’s a funny smell inside. I hope they will remodel soon.

The museum is an austere brutalist building, which might not look very welcoming from the outside, but it is in fact a treasure trove with two particular, stunning galleries that are a must-visit in Winnipeg! I spent about 2 hours in the museum and only went through about two-thirds of the exhibits. Granted, not all of the exhibits are of the same quality. Some of the natural history and ecological exhibits have areas that don’t seem to have been updated in decades, with font styles that echo back to the 1980s, although I actually quite enjoyed seeing it (like travelling back in time) and everything was still exceptionally clean and well-maintained. There are a lot of dioramas, including full-scale landscape recreations, in the museum, which I absolutely loved. The two must-visit galleries, however, are the Nonsuch Gallery and the Winnipeg Gallery. The Nonsuch Gallery’s centrepiece is a full-size replica of the ship that launched the Hudson’s Bay Company, which you can get on to explore, including descending to the lower deck, which was just fascinating. It also has great sound and light effects. Having been to Hudson’s Bay so many times, it was great to learn about this integral piece of its history that I had never heard of until then. I want to give a shout out to the staff member on duty at the time of my visit – she was highly enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the exhibit, and gave me the amazing recommendation of visiting the 1920s Winnipeg cityscape exhibit, which I might have skipped otherwise because I was running out of time at that point. That brings me to the Winnipeg Gallery with its fantastic 1920s cityscape recreation, which is another must-visit. The exhibit is just big enough for you to be immersed in the surroundings, and it has so many details to explore and some buildings that you can go into. You would really appreciate the amount of thought that has gone into creating this exhibit. It’s the perfect exhibit for the architecture/history/I Spy fan. The museum also houses a Science Gallery and a Planetarium, which I didn’t visit. However, the Nonsuch and the Winnipeg Galleries alone make the Manitoba Museum a must-visit for anyone in Winnipeg and I think the museum really deserves more recognition!

A wonderful three-in-one experience including natural/human history, a planetarium, and a hands-on science center for kids. Fascinating exhibits in an engaging environment. My daughter enjoyed it all. Highly recommended for adults and children alike.

This is a great place to spend an afternoon with family, friends, or by yourself. Lots of well designed exhibits are strategically placed to lead you through history to the modern day. From the first display of the life-sized bison being hunted leaving a memorable scene in the viewer's mind, to ancient oceans, dinosaurs, the ice age, changing landscapes, and the impact of emigration, visitors will be immersed in beautiful education. Don't forget to check out the replica Nonsuch boat, which you can board and take in its atmosphere amidst a small pier style town with buildings you can go inside. Then, go downstairs and have some hands-on fun in the science gallery. There you can learn about the praiwatwrshed, how tornadoes are formed, build with lego, create and race electric cars. Lift yourself with a pull system or manipulate the northern lights with your hands. This is educational fun for all ages. Also, to cap off an afternoon of fun or simply on its own, check out the planetarium and learn about the night sky and the mysteries of constellations.

Super fun and educational place! Lots for children to discover and learn. Don’t forget to check out their science hall downstairs- it’s so amazing for kids! Laser Harp, infinity room, lift-yourself chair, acoustic tricks, river flow water table, just to name a few. Better check it out yourself - it’s absolutely worth the time and money. Oh yeah, and Nonsuch! 1650 ship replica inside the museum that you can actually get on, and see it all!

Beautiful spot to stop by. Of course based on days...you may get the random protests and such as well here. Architecturally, it is worth some time to just observe.

Legislative grounds privides a good place to walk during those chilly autumn days. Plus The Forks is only 10-15 minutes away, great scenic views along the river path.

Gorgeous revivalist baroque architecture, beautiful to walk around here. Absolutely magnificent. Other than the random protests they keep it nice and clean, I remember going in here for a field trip, there are amazing paintings and stonework.

Great inside and out! Wonderful walking grounds and place to visit! Parking can be difficult as it is downtown and paid but you should be able to find some on the side roads.

Nice place to walk around. Park your car and take a river walk to the forks. About 40 minutes of a round trip. Nice and gentle river breez.

I took this tour on Monday at 4:00. This was a really great tour. The tour guide was a wealth of knowledge and interesting facts. Well worth the time! A heads-up, if you take the last tour of the day, the gift shop will be closed by the end of the tour.

Visited here with a friend. Largely free to roam most parts of the building when the politicians are not in session. Had to opportunity to see many areas of the building.

Went on a tour of the building and sat in on Question Period. Really cool experience, highly recommend learning about Manitoba's history and our political system. The building is stunning.

Beautiful grounds to stroll through and get another Canadian history lesson as you read plaques around the grounds. Lots of green space with sculptures. If in Winnipeg I suggest coming down and taking a look for yourself. #localguides

It's a nice place to walk around with family and friends. The surroundings are peaceful and lots of trees, benches too to sit down and read books so might as well to bring one if you want to go here.

I was really surprised on how rich this building is marble floors brass everywhere and the also that the materials used have such detail. You do have to sign in with valid ID there are free guided tours and lots of free parking. Also take the time to walk around outside this building and the work that was put into this is really worth the time.

I really liked the tour. Fascinating building/architecture and they have birch syrup in the gift store which is unique!
