A wonderful sea life / aquarium in Durban, South Africa. Lots to see and do including seal and dolphin shows. We visited on a Monday in February. The place was dead. This didn’t detract from us having a great time - was good to have lots of space. All the shows were top notch and I love the way the environment is top of the agenda. The shows try to educate on what not to do with our waste. The aquarium is superb - even though one of the turtles was very rude to me. Must also mention the snorkel activity. My 6-year old did this for the first time and the instructor was so helpful and patient with him. All the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. A must visit if you’re in the area.

It's a must visit place if you're in Durban or if you only have few hours (for seafarers) Beautiful marine theme park. They have got a variety of fishes, sharks, crabs, jelly fishes and many other species. Fascinating tour and loved the ambience. Next to the beach and shops so you can just stroll out after watching

When in Durban or surrounding areas do yourself the favour and pop in, don't forget to take your swimming short and sunblock, the rest of the stuff you can either hire or is in no short supply from the local shops. Lots of fun for the kids or adults looking to get away from the cities hustle and bustle. If you can book a table below deck at the restaurant and see the sharks swim by while you are feasting on some juicy seafood, pop into the local shops, take a walk on the beach, have some drinks or go and watch the show, the aquarium is also worldclass...

Lovely experience. Affordable entry to the aquarium and takes about 2+ hours depending on your interest. Very kind and knowledgeable staff, make sure to stop and listen at the information centres. Wonderful fish and marine life presented beautifully. Great photographical spots to remember the experience by.

Went there twice. Absolutely awesome. And the animal trainers were the best. Absolutely spectacular and breathless shows. Keep up the good work. The aquarium was also jaw dropping, and the guides did their best to answer all questions. Would recommend everybody to pop in at uShaka. Thank you for a very colorful and eventful visit.

uShaka Marine is simply the jewel of Durban tourism! I can never get enough of the place and each time I visit I learn something new or simply just discover a new place there. The dolphin show is still very entertaining! 👌🏾 Will definitely make an impression on you. This time around i got to see the penguins and also watch them getting fed. Over 60 African penguins and they all have names. So cute to see. The aquarium is a must visit to just get fascinated by the different fish types that exist and to learn more about the Southern Africa marine areas and their species. I don't think there is any place in Durban that has staff who can challenge uShaka staff in helpfulness and sweetness! Plus they will educate you so much about the marine life! 👌🏾 Apart from sea world (dolphins, seals and penguins) and aquarium there is also the water park for kids to swim on slides, the dangerous creatures centre for snakes and other reptiles, and a shopping mall for clothes, souvenirs and lots of restaurants (some have a sea view).

What an experience! We used to visit here when I was smaller and it's just as I remember. The aquarium is such a fun place and I have definitely picked up a new hobby. We really enjoyed the dolphin show as well. My only concern. The photos - when you go into a place they take photos of you and your family, I found out that the photos the tourist don't buy, they just disregard of. It is such lovely photos but they are just throwing them away?! Not every family is in the position to buy these photos and instead of gifting these photos to the family. It just gets tossed. Please consider gifting these photos or work the price into the tickets at the gate. Otherwise it was a great experience - keep the ocean clean!

Amazing! It was absolutely beautiful. The animals are well looked after. The whole place is clean and neat. Great layout with a large variety of shops. The extra activities is really great and affordable, we did the shark cage diving and it was truly magical. It's definitely value for money.

Fantastic Experience! We had a great time when we were here. The exhibits and interactions were both fun and highly educational. It's a hit among kids. My favourite parts of the experience were the touch tanks .The staff members were polite, extremely knowledgable, and eager to assist with any inquiries. The facility is maintained in excellent condition. This is the spot to go if you want to witness a wide variety of marine fish, including sharks. Places are available on-site for your food and beverage needs. Very highly recommended.

Amazing experience. The aquarium is beautiful, and there is so much to see and do. The kids' zone and a couple of the other activities were closed, but we came during the winter and before the school holidays, so that was to be expected. We got to see the Seal and Dolphin shows, and the animals were amazing and seemed to be very well kept and looked after. I was also chosen to be part of the seal experience, which was amazing. The instructors were very clear on what to do so that we had a good time but were still respectful towards the animals. It was amazing. I would really encourage everyone to go at least once. The staff are also very knowledgeable and were eager to answer any questions we had.

We had an educational excursion. Children loved the guided tour. Rose a student tour guide, was very informative. Hope she passed. She gave vast facts that left children with many questions. I wish it was not so rushed, though. They only given a certain amount of time, not sufficient to just enjoy the Aquarium. The Dolphin show is always the highlight. Wish it was longer.

Well kept. Loved the interaction between trainers/ handlers and animals. The handlers also very friendly. The young scientist that explained the shark skin and microscope work in the aquarium was really good and well spoken! The schools that visited were extremely well behaved and disciplined. It was a pleasure to share the park with them

Clean all over, friendly staff. The Aquarium is breathtaking. The tanks are clean and the sea life is well taken care for. Went there for a 2nd time this week as we cant get enough of it. We loved the Stingray feeding and the dolphins show was an incredible experience. I recommend going to Marine World in the afternoon, after the rush. Aim to arrive around 1400 or 1430. Then you can get a seat for the 3PM Dolphin show (lasts 30 minutes). Then you can walk around the incredible aquarium (takes 45-75 minutes) with far more space. We went off season (March) and it took 30 minutes to get in (long queue) after arriving at 11. The aquarium was packed and quite noisy. Nevertheless, it was an amazing experience - I must have spontaneously said "wow" a thousand times. The attention to detail I side the aquarium is delightful and the designers deserve credit for their careful work.

Very well organized and great layout. Staff very helpful and educational. Area are kept neat and tidy. Great selection of shops and restaurants. All shows guarantee great entertainment. All round a great place to visit and spend family time.

We unfortunately went on a Tuesday but it still didn't disappoint as most activities were closed or not available. It's still a must see. The staff are wonderful. Passionate, kind and inspiring. The design of the aquarium is just amazing

We went there mid-winter on a Tuesday outside school holidays to avoid the crowds and it worked out very nicely. There were one or two school groups but they were so well behaved and for the rest we just wandered around. The aquarium was beautifully laid out with many exhibits and we enjoyed a great lunch at John Dory's. The little one was exhausted but happy. Easy parking too. Worth the money.

It was good. Kids enjoyed it. There were many friendly staff that stopped us to give information. Very interesting facts. It has lots to do. The kids enjoyed getting ice cream and afterwards going to play at the beach.

I loved the aesthetic of the ship. We spent an afternoon marvelling at the beauty of the many sea creatures. There are both large and small displays, some with an educational element. A great place to visit for couples, groups or families. There are additional activities onsite as well as shops and restaurants in the surrounding area.

Was a great visit. The staff are a little tired and worn almost like they not happy to be there probably need some training. They make the place feel sad. It was built 20years ago it needs a little updating and fresh eyes and design. Enjoyed the rides, some of the water looks a little dirty but still fine. We ended up spending 2hrs there, they need some more rides. Snacks and cocktails were good. Toilets were well kept.

Still one of the best aquariums I've been to. Such a nice setting. Beautiful fish to see. Lots of things to see and do. The dolphin show was somewhat short and more talking than anything but still cute to see for kids.

The Aquarium visit was okay there were just a lot of people at one time and of course the Dangerous creatures was awesome the staff were great as they gave us fun facts. The shipwreck restaurant had great food with good portions and very tasty It would be great if we could buy tickets online for the activities

Had an amazing time, saw the seal show & Dolphin show with my entire family ! Daughter & wife did shark diving and my son & I did the snorkeling! The aquarium was clean and the aquariums where amazing from viewing to staging of them ! The entire experience was amazing! I even met Barry Hilton in the queue to buy tickets .. so this was an amazing day for myself and the family.. we visited all the shops just outside and had breakfast at the spur before we had the time of our lives! Highly recommended experience.. although you might not get to meet Barry you will still have the time of your life ❤️ there is so much to do you could probably go 2 times and still not do everything on offer!

It was my second time in the last 4 years here, nothing new or changed that much. Still a nice outing for families, the kids loved the dolphin show. Bathrooms are very clean which is always a bonus at any place. We went during the week so wasn't that busy except for a school tour. All in all, pleasurable experience.

Insightful information about the stadium was shared by a friendly tour guide.He was also patience with us as we stopped and took photos. Also there a professional photographer who was made available. We had fun walking the big stadium.

Fantastic stadium! Perfect for all events. Had the privilege to watch Monster Jam there and loved every moment of it. They accommodatedme in my wheelchair very kindly and there were plenty of staff helping you find your seats. Just wish there were more food options throughout the stadium.

The stadium is quite big and well maintained. It was made for the FIFA World cup which SA hosted in 2010. Now the stadium hosts different sporting events like soccer, cricket,rugby etc here. The architecture of the stadium is beautiful. I would recommend taking the stadium guided tour to get to know the history and architecture/ design of the stadium. They also take you through the presidential suite / view gallery, player's dressing room, fitness room,etc during the tour. The guide explains it very well. There are a couple of restaurants here where you can grab some snacks. The segway rides also start from here. Unfortunately the Big rush swing is closed permanently and the walkway to the top of the arch is also closed temporarily due to the ongoing maintenance.

It was a great day for us to be back at the stadium after almost 2 years of COVID-19 restrictions. Vaccination and good behavior of the people made it possible to get back to the stadium 🏟️.

It is a beautiful structure. But not worth the visit if it is closed. Which I hear is more often than not. Better to just get a shot from the highway.

Good stadium. Just lacks disable facilities which was a disappointment. Also alot of insects fall into your food or beverages from the lights

Moses Mabhida is a world class stadium I had a food experience there i will go there everytime amaZulu are playing. What I would like to encourage people of Durban to support their home teams so we can fill up Moses Mabhida everytime there is a game

Beautiful stadium. Nice workers. Great fans. It needs to be a little more organized and enthusiastic overall, I think. We almost couldn’t get tickets to the football match as they didn’t sell them at the stadium. May this place be used to its full potential because it’s really incredible and worth being shared.

My kids enjoyed every minute of the day we spent there,it was their first time in stadium worse to support our National team Bafana Bafana and they won too💃💃💃💃

This image was taken at the main Reception area at Moses Mabhida Stadium. Among the wall-mounted framed jerseys are those of the national soccer squad, Bafana Bafana as well as those of two of the country's giant football clubs, i.e. Kaizer Chiefs FC and Orlando Pirates FC. The stadium is a gigantic sporting venue not only for the City of Durban and the Province of KwaZuluNatal, but for the entire country.

I'm posting on behalf of my parents and brother who ate at the restaurant called Cuba Lounge (Don Julio's) at the Moses Mabhida Stadium. My family ordered the daily lunch special for R 50 which consisted of 1/2 chicken and a portion of chips. My parents and brother truly enjoyed their meal. They said that the chicken was tantalizing and they'd definitely go back again! The chicken came in two flavour options: Peri Peri or Lemon & Herb. Before the meal, complementary garlic bread was served. I'm looking forward to more vegetarian options on their menu, please. And perhaps more variety of chilled beverages. The manager (Ms Candace) was warm and welcoming and even came to greet us and check if the food was alright. Our waitron (Joash) was friendly and served us with a smile each time we needed something. Thank you.

Lovely environmental. There is no venue bigger and better than this stadium in KZN

A pleasant, peaceful, and quiet place. Perfect for picnics, morning/evening walks, or reading a book. This garden also has a good coffee shop, and can also host events such as weddings or parties. The garden is well maintained and always kept neat. Entrance is free, and staff are always friendly.

It's alot of walking but it's really beautiful . If you love nature you will enjoy a day here with friends and family for a walk and /or a picnic. There are benches and some seating areas and lots of open spaces to relax . Take along blankets , chairs , picnic basket . Kids will love this garden .

Botanic Gardens is a place where everyday you can thank God for his beauty. Great place to get your daily exercise, relax, picnic, nature photography, it has so much to offer. However they really need to sort out the pond filtration. Excellent bird life, even turtles in the pond. Add to your list of places to visit in Durban, South Africa. The best part is ENTRANCE IS FREE.

The trail of lights at the Botanical Gardens in Durban 2021 was absolutely magical. It was nicely spaced out through the entire garden. Gave you a lovely warm festive feeling. It's an experience for everyone. The food court was a good thought with a variety of stalls- coffee, ice cream, Mexican food, indian food, burgers, pizzas, slush drinks, snacks like popcorn and candy floss. It did get a bit overwhelming at the food court around 8pm with the last lot of people walking in. Overall it was a nice night out and the weather was perfect too.

Thank you to the organizers and staff for such an amazing and beautiful set up at the Trail of Lights😊. Everything looked so picturesque and this year a lot of innovation and creativity was put into the theme. Definitely not to be missed in 2023. We had so much fun and it indeed brought out the kid in me🥰

We went to botanic gardens to celebrate my sisters achievement on getting her doctorate.we took a lot of pictures and we were so happy to be together as a family at my sister's best day 😘😘😘😘💃💃💃💃💃💃💃

I thank all Botanic garden are almost the same, but at least you can spend sometime quite and get fresh air. Although Duban Botanic garden were more commercialized, but sill ok if you get free time in Durban.

This is one of my favorite parts of Durban at the moment. The place is so well kept and so full of life and great energy! There is a great variety of birds and plants! My partner and I often picnic under the trees.

Whether your just visiting or residing near Durban, this is a must see! No entry fee, although if you're up to giving a little support, a donation is always welcome. Perfect for walking the dogs, a day out with family, a photoshoot, a lovely picnic or even just taking it all in ( I even saw a group of people enjoying themselves with a morning meditation session) . Loads of old/large trees, beautiful plants and information boards. Also a lot of very good artworks to reflect upon. Affordable gift shop and duck food available at the entrance.

We visit here often and always have an incredible time. It's a scenic, safe and peaceful walk through. Definitely a place to take in nature. The most enjoyable time to visit is around Christmas when the Trail of Lights begin.

One of my most favourite places to go. The bird life is superb and there are so many Birders there who help to identify birds we do not know, especially the LBJ' (Little Brown Jobbies) as we call them. The Botanical Gardens are rich in Birds (as mentioned) and the insect life is amazing, including the many trees, and, especially all the butterflies. It is a historical site and I would certainly recommend it to anyone and everyone. There are a few guides there who are glad to help at any time - Vishnu and Peter. Really knowledgeable guides who know a ton of stuff...

The annual Christmas Trails of Light event at the Botanical Garden is a winner. Aside from this this is a great place for a family picnic or just a get away for calm in the very center of Durban. Very beautiful place with lots of species of trees.

Botanic Gardens Durban was me and my Childhood Friend's favorite place. Carved our Names on Trees, fished, relaxed. Still great to this day... Played Soccer next door at Curries Fountain years ago. Next to Royal Durban Golf Course. Next to Greyville Race Course where the Durban July, The Millions Rand Horse Race will happen on 01July 2023, with a full house of betting, fashion, fun in the Durban Sun like it happens every year. Win.

Incredible gardens so well kept. Friendly staff. AMAZING breeding grounds for pelicans, sacred ibis and so many burds, ducks qnd geese! Definitely go there!

A beautiful place with lots to discover. Didn't know I was so clueless about plants and trees till I was here. Great place for picnics with a lover or friends. There's ducks, birds, and their chirps make it sound like paradise. Definitely recommend. Bring something to lay on the grass and a few snacks and spoil your senses.

Gorgeous place to visit if you love nature!! Peaceful and very safe here as they have guards. No entrance fee here and you can bring a picnic and enjoy it with your family 💜♥️

This place is absolutely free to enter and is a sublimely peaceful bolt hole to escape the din of the city. Also a hunt for picnicking families and young couples. There are so many birds here and a profusion of exotic plants and trees. The coffee booth just inside is reasonably priced so grab a cup and keep walking !

Wow the lights are Fantastic. Families with kids will really enjoy. Plenty of food stalls, places to take pics and just to enjoy the atmosphere. Music playing. Large crowds.

Five stars may be a bit of a stretch, but there are so many amazing features in this garden. The colour tree was a real first for me, the Indian walking tree, the rarest cycad on earth, the amazing bird life. They were setting up for the lights festival, which looked like it would be great. I don’t even remember there being a cost, but for us it was a gem in the middle of Durban, just next to the racecourse.

Trail of lights at Botanic Gardens Durban South Africa is really what they say it is, trail of lights. Food stalls, lights, adventures and so much to see and experience. It was definitely worth going, it is recommended that you buy your tickets online to ensure your spot when visiting the earlier the better goes it does get busy later on.

Great place for a picnic and a stroll. You can definitely bring your kids and most pathways are stroller friendly. Interesting plants and trees. The gardens are clean, well run and seem secure with guards patrolling. Nice clean bathrooms, a very nice Durban based family activity. No charge for entry, but do make a donation if you can. Also keep an eye out for special events like concerts and their Christmas Garden of Lights (events require purchased tickets).

We went for the Trail of Lights at the Botanical Gardens. Although there are different time slots the Gardens were very overcrowded. The beautiful display of the lights created a happy Christmas atmosphere.

We went for a concert, but also had the chance to walk around the gardens. Although a little outdated some of the trees were fascinating. Was especially impressed with the rainbow eucalyptus. There is also an amazing ficus tree that you can walk through. We were pleasantly surprised. The concert venue was fine. I suggest taking chairs a blanket for the ground and loads of sun protection.

Pleasant place. Can become very busy during the holiday period. Overall it is clean and you can rent umbrellas 🌂,chairs and other items while you and the family are enjoying yourselves. Couple of restaurants at the beach too. UIP checking to see there is no alcohol on the beach as well.

Clean, well maintained and perfectly situated family beach. Plenty of amenities, close to shops. Good presence of life guards and great place to swim in the waves. Recommend morning visits to avoid prevailing afternoon wind.

Awesome! I was simply fed up with DURBANS Rundown and insecure main beach promenade that continues to dicteriote with each passing year but today in mostly cloudy but cooler conditions, really wanted to experience this lovely and well maintained promenade and after a long walk to Umhlanga, took my walk Along this incredible promenade with photo shots of this truly amazing sight of awesome views towards Durban, the lighthouse stands out, so do the Pearls towers, nice view from the start at the Southern end of my favorite new skyscraper mix of towers and the Arch, Umhlanga Arch! What an awesome landmark on Umhlanga Rudge! Walking along this promenade such a wonderful mix of mostly holiday makers, locals and very few blacks that makes this , including the non litter, no bikes and excellent infrastructure that cannot be seen in DURBANS promenade central beachfront in short I simply felt so good and wished one day to finally live and work in a well to do and run city! This visit today was the best experience so far this long holiday and showed that you can enjoy better lifestyle than rundown but otherwise what is to me an iconic city but sadly so gone to the dogs! Hopefully soon this day will become a new beacon of hope for 2021!

Excellently kept beach with clean and safe walkways. Stunning views and lovely promenade. Only 1 place for swimmers to use the beach but with lifeguard presence. Easily accessible from various hotels and resorts along the beach line. Umhlanga pier is a beautiful piece of architecture and stands out amongst the coast line.

It still is a nice beach. Unfortunately, we could not swim here due to the high ecoli numbers.😥

Best holiday place where everything is to rent, from where you sleep to an umbrella, the view is breathtaking and have the best walkway i ever seen, be sure to book your family in before the holiday because its usually packed every season which is understandable.

Sad tbh. Our only little slice of niceness in everything else that is falling apart. A remnant of the Apartheid days. That's why it's like a first world country.

This must be one of the most beautiful beaches in the country, if not the world. We visited in August and the weather was glorious beach-worthy sunshine. Beautiful views, an amazing sunrise or sunset walk up the promenade and plenty of places to eat after your day on the sand. Based on the activity, it seemed to have some popular fishing spots as well.

Fantastic place where to stay even for the whole day. It could look at the first moment as a bit overcrowded but that's the magic of this place. People here are just sharing their joy and funny time. A lot of options were to grab some snacks or some different beach food such as ice cream or soft drinks. There is also plenty of restaurants or coffee shops so here is everything for the while day. Even free public showers🚀

Great game reserve! Beautiful nature, good roads, however after rain you might need a 4-wheel drive to cross some rivers. Staff at the gate is very friendly and welcoming. Good diversity of animals! Highly recommend.

It was lovely to be surrounded by peace and tranquility. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets over the misty mountains. Enjoyed many animal sightings including elephants, rhino, giraffe, buffalo, zebra and much more. Accommodation was like stepping back into the eighties. Although dated, it was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and enjoyed overlooking beautiful views of the mountains.

What an amazing experience! Full day, half day, sunrise or sunset adventures. You can see some much of what Africa has to offer here. The big five plus so much more!

Such a great, great beautiful place. Saw lots of animals before we got to our cottage, this huge beautiful girrafe was standing right in the middle of the road. You definitely have to go there, it's unlike those curated tourist trips. It was a beautiful trip where you experience animals in their wild. We arrived at one see just as a cheetah was leaving it. And if you don't have a 4/4, it's okay, you can hire one at reception. The rooms were fairly safe and clean. This is assuming you will book at mpila. Enjoy

We were so lucky... The park is big enough to have you driving around for hours, but with luck on our side, we were greeted right at the entrance, by more elephants than we could count. We were really hoping to see some elephants, since it was the only animal we hadn't yet seen in person. Our wish was more than granted. They were amazing :) A lot of the roads inside the park, are tarred and in great condition.. You can do a self drive in your hatch back, no problem. If you're staying in the area, definitely give this park a visit..

This park is amazing. The Hluhluwe side is far greener and the bush is quite dense so sometimes difficult to spot animals but if you're patient and drive slow you see plenty. The imfolozi side is a lot drier and you can see more but much less tar roads so get ready for a bumpy ride. The safari tents at Mpila camp are super comfy and offer an amazing experience.

Born and raised 15km away from one of Kruger National Park's gates, wildlife has always been something I love and cherish. Visited Imfolozi Park, oh what a beautiful park. Easy to navigate through it. The refreshing sights of nature and animals. Also visited the Centenary Centre within. So many local craftsmanship, it's even a problem to pick one, beautiful artwork. There is a restaurant with limited but variety of meals. Tried a cheese burger, for someone whom doesn't like burgers, that was nice actually...must be the nature effect.

Wonderful reserve! We been multiple times and have taken guided tours as well as driven ourselves around the park and have thoroughly enjoyed each experience. We’ve had a toddler with us each time and it’s been a great time for all of us.

Awesome place! Unfortunately it was 47(!) degrees the day we were there, so we didn’t see lions or other cats, but plenty of elephants, different buck, giraffes and zebras!

Nature its a 5⭐ The park is just breathtaking 😍🥺 it's a tranquilizer, peace of mind. The scenery just beautiful. Although I didn't get to see alot of animals as it was hot

Hluhluwe-iMfolozi never disappoints. We did a 2 day self-drive. We were fortunate enough to encounter a lion couple strolling in front of us. We were thrilled to see a herd of rhino on the road at one of the viewpoints. We were thankful to the strangers who waited with us when we came across a herd of elephant feeding, as we were unable to proceed for about half an hour. One came up to our car but fortunately realised that we were not a threat. We used both popular entrance gates and recommend the Nyalazi gate as you can pay entrance fees with your card and the staff are more professional. The Memorial gate has no signal, so we were told to pay cash, but there was no change available. A small price to pay for another superb Hluhluwe-iMfolozi experience.

Entering daily is a costly experience, only to be informed that if we purchased the rhino card it would be free entry to all KZN parks for a year. So I bought one. The staff at reception including security at Nyalazi gate were well mannered courteous and polite. Respect!!

Fabulous park, we so enjoy coming here. The northern part is a little quieter during the day but we got our full in the early afternoon with elephants, rhino, zebra and vultures which was quiet a delight. Tar roads are great, 4x4 type suv or higher vehicle recommend for loops. Staff super friendly. Hilltop views are just gorgeous.

Stunning reserve with an amazing array of wildlife. On our visit we saw rhinos, buffaloes, lions, wild dogs, giraffes, elephants, hyenas, antelope, zebras hippos, birds and a porcupine (which is a rarity). Expect to see large numbers of buffalo, nyala, Impala and zebra. Chances of seeing predators like lions, leopards, cheetahs and hyenas are good but not guaranteed.

I did not have very high expectations for our visit to this game park, given that I had already visited both the Kruger and Chobe game parks, both of which were spectacular. I was pleasantly surprised with the size of the park and the number of different game that we saw, the highlights being two separate cheetah sightings and a number of white rhino (horns intact). Well worth visiting for a day if you in North Eastern KwaZulu-Natal.

I spent hours on a self drive tour, meandering on narrow dirt roads while spotting wildlife. It was amazing.

The animals are certainly worth visiting but the shops, public loos and picnic areas are dreadful. Very sad to see the decay in all the public amenities.

We saw many animals. It is easy to find the big 5. The staff is not very friendly. I can't understand why people in tourism are so impolite. The dirt roads need a scrape. The monument at the gate is overgrown. It is easy to see the neglectful nature of the municipality.

Smallish game reserve in North-East Kwazulu Natal, in hilly country, with dense vegetation. The roads are not bad, but quite steep in places. Can be done with a normal car, albeit with a struggle in some places. The restaurants in the camps are well maintained, clean and with friendly helpful staff. We did not use the park's accomofation, but heard some less favourable reports. We saw both types of rhinos, elephants, buffalo, giraffe, impala, baboons and lots of njala. Watch out for very cunning and brazen vervet monkeys at the picknick spots - they will steal food out of your plate if you dare to look the wrong way
