Tallinn is such a beautiful city. We strolled though alleys and discovered so many quaint sites. One of the more beautiful Old Towns I have visited. You can sit in the Square at the many restaurants and enjoy the ambiance!

Nice old building around the square. Bars and restaurants have there outdoor terrace setup around the square. Great place to grab some food or get something to drink. Nice and sunny during the day and nicely lit during the times the sun is down.

The town hall area is impeccably preserved, offering glimpses into the rich history and culture of old Tallinn. A visit in December treats you to the festive atmosphere of the Christmas market, adding to the charm of this well-maintained locale.

An amazing old architecture. The spirit of medieval times. Nice square nearby. Also plenty of cafes and restaurants. So you will definitely find something for you.

Town Hall and it's square is a center of the miniature universe called Tallinn Old town. The entire old part of the city is quite compact but very homogeneous, very little intrusions of modern architecture, and the old wall of Tallinn makes a nice boundary between old and new. Lots of different restaurants to choose from, like in other touristy places, locations close to the main attractions.

Tallinn Town Hall, a magnificent Gothic structure in the heart of Old Town, is a must-see for history buffs. Built in the 14th century, it boasts the title of the only surviving Gothic town hall in all of northern Europe. While the interior may not be as grand as some other European town halls, it offers a unique glimpse into medieval Tallinn with its intricate wood carvings, grand halls, and the oldest preserved wooden bench in Estonia.

Medieval old town hall. Gothic style building. Big and open. Nice place to spend time. Very happening. Several restaurants representing Italian, Indian and Baltic. Several souvenir shops. You can find Baltic Amber jewellery shops both expensive and cheap depending on the grade of the Amber.

A landmark of the old town, it is converted to a museum now. You can buy tickets at the entrance and there's not much of a crowd. A nice place to know the history of the city and the adjoining tower for a good view of the old town.

The well-preserved exterior transports visitors back in time, allowing them to marvel at the craftsmanship of the era. Upon entering the Town Hall, you are welcomed into a world of historical significance. The interior is equally impressive, with beautifully preserved halls, grand staircases, and impressive artworks. The Great Hall, in particular, showcases the rich heritage of Tallinn, providing a glimpse into the city's governance and the grandeur of its past. Throughout the year, Tallinn Town Hall also hosts various events, including concerts, exhibitions, and cultural festivities. These events further enhance the visitor experience, offering a chance to witness the Town Hall come alive with activity and celebration.

The spacious hall is located on the second floor of the building. I attended a concert here. The quartet, consisting of a violin, viola, cello, and piano, sounded quite impressive. The high ceiling enhanced the excellent acoustics, while the meticulously restored medieval interior created a refined aesthetic and a special atmosphere. The lighting was also well-balanced, not overly bright for the audience area, but sufficiently strong to clearly see all the details of the performing musicians and their instruments, even from the back rows.

A MUST, while visiting Tallinn. Beautiful ancient building with very interesting history of the HANSE cities. Beautiful old tapestries and wooden frescoes with biblical motifs or medieval depictions.

Most photos and videos are the views from up the town hall’s tower, which I think is worth the visit. There are about 150 plus steps upwards. And while you are walking up, do notice the wooden flat planks, which back in the day disallowed access upwards (if removed) and was used for security… just in case. The entrance is about 4 euros and if you really want a unique experience, go up there right at the top of the hour so you can see and hear the tower bell ring right in front of you. See the first video for reference. All in all a cool bird’s eye view of this medieval town.

The central town square of Tallinn’s old city. While not a huge square, when it housed Tallinn’s winter market in December the entire plaza was filled with shops.

Beautifully preserved and well maintained town hall area that gives you glimpses of old Tallinn and it's people and culture. You can also witness the Christmas market and enjoy the holiday festivities there if you plan to visit in December.

The top location to visit in Tallinn, this town hall has a colourful history that dates back to medieval times, with its iconic tower overlooking old town. Visitors can enter the town hall by buying a ticket, it's free for Tallinn Card holders, where you can learn more about the town hall's history in relation to Tallinn. You'll get to climb all the way to the rooftop as part of the entry. You can also climb the adjacent tower with the same ticket, but we didn't do it because we're lazy. The exhibition is quite informative and it feels surreal to be in such a historical place. You also get to admire the evolving architecture of the building. Your visit to Estonia would not be complete without dropping by here, even if you're just admiring it from the outside.

I think Tallinn's Old Town is an exciting destination for everyone on vacation. I live in Finland, so getting here is quite easy for me. You can easily visit in the morning and return to Finland in the evening, just like our group did. There's really no debate Tallinn is incredibly beautiful, historic, and much more affordable than Finland. I visited in summer, with warm weather, golden sunshine, and greenery and flowers everywhere. You can tell that many tourists come here to explore. I didn't find the food particularly outstanding, but that's just my opinion, and I didn't have much time to try many traditional Estonian dishes. There are plenty of places for people to discover during a trip to Tallinn.

Fantastic old town. Be aware the lack of public washroom (many charge 20 cents) but some restaurants do have WC for customers.

Not bought the ticket but walked through the surroundings of the museum. I’ll say for me it’s enough as you can see many old military ships with a description on their past history. If I had more time I would have gone inside the museum, but also I would recommend to pass by

Really cool museum. First time walking thorough an actual submarine. The BEST part??? Their cafe is INCREDIBLE. The best artichoke pasta I’ve EVER had and the very spicy 🌶️ red pepper soup was AMAZING. We are talking Michelin star level. ⭐️ Totally unexpected.

If you are museum and marine lover, don’t miss this museum is huge and nice design. Enjoy walking to look submarine, history of boat. After walk you can enjoy food up stairs with a lot choice of drink and food. Spend more time here is worth.

Gorgeous building and really interesting museum with a lot of interactive exhibits and unique maritime artifacts. Being able to go inside of the Russian submarine was a really interesting, unexpected plus. Tickets are 15€ per person without the Tallinn card, but are worth it even full-price. There’s also a restaurant/cafe inside and another steamship behind the building you are able to tour with the same ticket. The airplane hangar itself is stunning.

I don't really love museums, but this one is awesome. Money well spent I would say. It's not just watching and viewing things but engaging with them. Totally recommended. Also, it's awesome place to bring your children, they will have much fun here!

It must be my best memories in Tallinn. The history and development of the boats, submarines and all things related with Estonia history really made my day. The ticket is well worthy and I had so much fun there. Highly recommend ❤️

Great place to spend a few hours on your visit to Tallinn. The submarine is an interesting and unique experience as is the ice breaker ship (out the back). Watch out for the cheeky buoys though! 😛

One of the best and most interactive museums I have been to in a long time. It is so well thought out and organized. The bottom level has a lot of things visitors can interact with. I learned so much here I bought my ticket at a digital kiosk as soon as I walked in! So easy! Highly recommend

This Seaplane Hangar now turned into a naval museum was built in 1916 as part of the sea fortress system protecting Saint Petersburg. This building is one of the most significant engineering and technical accomplishments of the 20th century, due to its massive domes and no supporting pillars. The museum has on display many interesting naval hardware from boats, a seaplane, estonian navy information, artillery pieces and even a real submarine - the Lembit. On the harbour area, there are many vessels that can be observed and even visited. One of the best naval museums to visit in Europe!

Doesn’t disappoint, whether you are interested in boats or not. The building is a huge concrete dome, that used to be a seaplane harbor. The museum, which is a big open space, is pleasant to walk through. There is space, a lot to see and overall the navigation is easy. My favorite part was the visit of the submarine, impressive and unusual. Collections contains: unusual boats, cannons for coastlines/boats, seaplane replicas, boats models etc. There are also boats to see in the port next to the museum.

I would highly recommend the Sea Harbour Museum to anyone with an interest in maritime history or simply looking for an engaging and enlightening outing. Excellent museum, featuring a submarine from the 1930s that you can walk around in. There are many good interactive exhibits, including a flight simulator in a fake plane (the plane moves while you pilot it, everyone enjoyed that.) Unfortunately, several of the interactive exhibits were broken, but enough were still working that this museum deserves five stars - it was our favorite of the trip. I hope the museum gets on top of the maintenance before anything else breaks!

Very nice museum to visit if you‘re interested in history and ships-related stuff. A big plus if you have children: there are a lot of games that keep the kids entertained.

This museum never makes you bored. We visited year-end period, 30.dec. You can experience not only the old fleet, but virtual shooting and driving.on site. You and your kids can play in some attractions. My daughter spent half an hour hanging out in cannon and machine guns. All in all, you will need at least 2hours to spend in the museum.

The Lennusadam Maritime Museum in Tallinn is a fascinating destination for family outings, especially with children. This museum, housed in a historical seaplane hangar, offers a unique glimpse into Estonia's maritime past. It's an excellent place to bring your son, as it features interactive exhibits, including submarines and a variety of seafaring vessels. To fully appreciate everything Lennusadam has to offer, it's advisable to allocate at least two hours for your visit, ensuring you have ample time to explore all its intriguing displays and activities.

The museum's extensive grounds house truly unique exhibits, including the entire submarine Lembit, various smaller sport vessels, and even the remains of a medieval boat. You'll find multiple Soviet and some German artillery units, primarily from military ships, that can be touched and operated to some extent. Occasionally, the museum hosts fascinating temporary exhibitions, such as the one showcasing contemporary sailors on long voyages. What sets this place apart is its ability to host banquets and public events on its spacious premises, typically in the evening after regular museum visitors have left.

Absolutely amazing museum. I don't understand why this isn't advertised more! Lots of interactive exhibitions, the chance to go into an actual submarine. Then it continues outside with a massive icebreaker ship. At first it seems you can only go on a small part of the deck, but there is a small sign in one of the doors that you can go in and visit all over the ship, including the engine rooms. Cannot recommend this museum more for anyone visiting Tallinn.

Fascinating, so much to explore - take your time and soak it in. Audio guide not essential, but be warned that there will be school groups and the shape of the building will make the noise echo. If you time your visit well, you'll escape that and be able to roam almost freely.

Wow and my deepest respect for the exhibition creators!!!! Especially I was impressed with submarine and the interactivity the museum is giving. I am very much impressed and really would state this wonderful museum for everyone interested in Marne and Air craft.

This was a wonderful place for children and adults. Lots of things to explore, enjoy, experiment with. We planned to spend 2 hours there, but ended up staying for 4 hours. And still there were things that wwere left unexplored. We will return!

If you like the views, this is the place where you should go to in Tallinn. There are multiple platforms where you can see something form the city, and a lot of shaded places if you want to chill somewhere under the trees.

It is small hillock 10 minutes walking from Old town. Has estonian patliament and Alexander Church here. The viewpiints of old city are must go on this hillock.roads are made of paving stones and can be difficult if you have a baby and stroller. Whole hillock can be explored on foot.

The Toompea hill and Castle are located near the famous Alexander Nevsky Cathedral and it’s also 10 minutes walking distance from the Old town main square. We didn’t visit the building inside, and we saw there were English tours that you could book, but we won’t had enough time and we decided to walk around and check the beautiful views that this place has from Tallinn old town city and we think it’s a nice place to explore a little more if you have more time. Tips: - Comfortable shoes are recommended, since the pavement of the Old Town streets, in general, are made with paving stones.

Spectacular cathedral from the outside. The golden mosaics are beautiful when the sun hits them at the right time of day - we visited it a few times and it was always the most beautiful on a sunny afternoon. No pictures inside, even though many don’t respect this rule.

It's not just pink; it's also utterly distinct. The interior is adorned with exquisite golden embellishments that will amaze you. I highly recommend heading there early before a crowd starts to form. Remember it's free, but no photos are allowed.

Beautiful Orthodox cathedral dominating the Toompea hill. You cannot (and should not) miss it on your way to the Parliament or the panoramas if the upper town. To my taste even more grandiose during a sunny winter day - see picture.

The inside of this cathedral may not be super special but the outside is quite spectacular. It looks different that basically all of the other cathedrals that you are used to seeing in Europe. Unfortunately it is also really hard to get a good picture with the cathedral because it is already situated at the highest point in old town.

Nicely preserved medieval architecture. Some parts were closed off due to covid restrictions and renovations, but still very much a nice church to visit. The gift shop is also well stocked with orthodox christian souvenirs.

The Alexander Nevsky Cathedral is an orthodox cathedral in central Tallinn. It was built 1894–1900 when the country was part of the Russian Empire. The cathedral is dedicated to the grand prince of Kiev, and later saint, Alexander Nevsky. As the USSR was officially non-religious, many churches including the cathedral were left to fall into disrepair but since the end of the Soviet occupation of Estonia in 1991 it has been restored.

Beautiful church with an eastern-style triple-domed ceiling. The church was free to enter but you weren’t allowed to take pictures, hence why none are featured.

Beloved by Tallinn natives, the sprawling Kadriorg Park is one of the city’s major attractions and is home to several notable landmarks. The park stretches for 1.5 km from its southwest corner to the northeast. With its landscaped gardens, forested paths, statues, and ponds, Kadriorg Park is a gem of a place to explore. The beautiful Swan Lake is one of the park’s highlights, and its elegant island gazebo is mostly enjoyed by swans. If you are here in summer, you’ll often see plenty of picnickers and sunbathers.

One of the nicest parks I've been to whilst travelling. We went on a day where all the museums were closed but, we still wanted to visit the park and enjoy it and I'm really glad we did. When we went there had been a massive storm the day before so there was a lot of damaged/fallen trees being cleared up but, we loved walking around the Palace, Japanese Garden and woods, we also saw the Russalka monument, lots of wildlife and had a coffee from the cafe. Easy to get to from the town via tram which brings you pretty much to the entrance.

This place is wonderful. Even in winter with a lot of snow, it’s beautiful to walk here. The garden is closed, but you can still have a look at it. 👍

Gorgeous park in the middle of Tallinn. Really nice space to be around some nature and greenery in the city. Lovely fountain and not far from the palace which is also stunning.

Absolutely beautiful and stunning place! Perfect for photoshoots and families, especially in summer. There's an impressive and colorful castle with the history, arts and sculpture museum inside, amazing rose garden with over 30 rose species, as well as plenty of walking paths and places to enjoy some nature. There's a lot of people during the summer and on the weekends, but since the park is so big, there's enough place for everyone!

An enchanting haven that exceeded my expectations. It's very picturesque which is great for a relaxing walk and for a picnic. It's big enough to spend few hours, so plan accordingly.

Marvelous, beautiful and many more words can go for this park. Its huge park of around 250 acres. Lovely fountains, swan lake, flower gardens and the palace. The place is beautiful and has lovely art museum. Not a over-whelming palace, you love to look around. A must visit for sure.

This is gorgeous park worth a visit if going to Tallin. It is outside Old Town but easily accessible on tram or bus or even a walk if you have the time. In winter it makes the perfect Christmas poscard. There is a cafe at the start and few restaurants nearby.

Very nice place to chill and relax ! You have nearby Kadriorg Palace and the Kumu Art Museum. Also ok for wheelchair users (no steps, it's fairly plain)

We didn't check the art exposition inside the Palace but having a walk all around the surroundings is highly suggested. The park is huge and it is very suggestive during winter. Also, with just a 15-20 minutes of walk you will find yourself on the long seaside promenade with an amazing view of the baltic sea.

A must-visit! I traveled here easily with the old-fashioned tram from the centre, which was quite fun. The scenery is magnificent in the summer. I recommend bringing some snacks, drinks and a good book with you to spend some time here. The garden is a lovely environment to walk around and take pictures. The surroundings of the palace offer many places to sit or lie down and relax.

A very beautiful park outside the center of Tallinn - there are lots of spaces to walk and look around. The pagoda in the water is especially nice in the summer.

This is a beautiful, well-manicured park right near downtown Tallinn. If you’re visiting Estonia, this is definitely one of the places you should go to, and the best part about it is walking around the ponds, gardens, and forests is free! You can get wonderful photos and enjoy nature without having to pay a big fee. This park is not too far from Tallinn’s old section, but pretty far to walk, so I would recommend getting one of the e-scooters and riding down closer to the park if possible. It generally is very nice temperature-wise in summer, but when we visited it was during a heat wave (almost 90°F) so be sure to bring water! Good thing is, there are sometimes people who have little food trucks selling iced coffee, lemonade, and ice cream right next to the park…though don’t count on them being here. All in all, I really like this park, it’s quite grand, and definitely one of the prettiest parts of Tallinn. Check it out!

Beautiful big garden. You can go easily there by walk (approximately 30 minutes from Tallinn city center) or by bus. Would recommend visit in summer when flowers bloom. There is also palace (we didn't visited).
