(Translated by Google) A beautiful place where time stops, where every place or corner tells a story that you think is imaginary, from ancient times, with a civilized imprint from our current era. I was one of those who were prepared to visit this beautiful city. German cities always fascinate me with their beauty and warmth.

(Translated by Google) The most worth seeing bridge in Amberg is the popularly called Stadtbrille. A water gate with a length of 46 meters was first mentioned in 1454 and bridges the Vils. Several renovations were carried out up to 1698. Since then, the bridge has had its current appearance. A great photo opportunity and certainly a must when visiting Amberg.

The Old Town Hall in Regensburg is a beautiful Baroque and Gothic complex that dates back to the 1200s. It is also home to a history museum with exhibits about the venue's past as a place for the Holy Roman Imperial Diet. The area around Alter Kornmarkt is still preserved as one of the oldest surviving settlements in Germany, and it is an amazing place to visit if you're interested in history!
Such an amazing guide and guidance we had!
I had the luck to be right on time for the English tour (14:00)!

The Cathedral of St Peter in Regensburg is a beautiful, preserved example of Gothic art. It's home to the Regensburger Domspatzen choir, one of Bavaria's oldest boys' choirs. The cathedral is also known for its astounding stained glass windows and opulent main altar.
St Peter Cathedral
Visited on 23/9/2019
St Peter Cathedral is also known as Regensburg Cathedral or Dom Peter. It is of Gothic architecture, having two spires. The exterior features some intricate and interesting medieval sculptures, while the interior has the same plus stained glass windows.
In comparison with many other cathedrals I have come across, this is not the most elaborate, but I believe it still deserves a score of 5 stars.
Sin Fong Chan — Google review
Original church building was constructed in year 700 but was burned down in the late 13th century and reconstructed. It is the only Gothic Cathedral in Bavaria and has the largest hanging organ in the world.
It is an amazing experience walking inside the church and also looking at it from the outside. I highly recommend visiting it if you are in Regensburg.
Maryam Klidsar — Google review
Let's just say I was lucky enough to get to hear the organ being played... It didn't last long, but it's just one of the best feelings that you can get in such a magnificent testimony to the city's rich history. With it's tall spires and Gothic design, this impressive structure is a sight to behold. Inside, you'll find stunning stained glass windows, ornate carvings and beautifully crafted altars, each telling a story of faith and devotion. The size and attention to detail are truly remarkable.

Very nice Dom that shows the might of the Catholic church in it's hay day. I can sit in here and image a time goneby when this place would have been the center for community, politics, faith and life in general. The layout does justice to the importance the placed on the church leadership. The whole experience is really mesmerizing.

St. Peter's Cathedral in Regensburg is an architectural marvel that transports you through time. The intricate details of Gothic craftsmanship and the soaring spires create a breathtaking spectacle. Inside, the awe-inspiring interior and the majestic organ contribute to the cathedral's spiritual ambiance. The historical significance and the panoramic views from the towers make this cathedral a must-visit in Regensburg. A testament to the city's rich cultural heritage.

Along with Cologne Cathedral, the Regensburg cathedral is one of the most important Gothic cathedrals in Germany.
+ France-influenced type of "classic" Gothic cathedrals
+ Characteristic are the basilica complex with a three-storey elevation of the central nave, the transept and an imposing west facade with two towers.
+ overall very imposing and peaceful feeling
Tina S (Tara YLuna) — Google review
One of the most beautiful and large cathedral in Germany. The sense of unity with the town of Regensburg is most attractive. Almost windows in the cathedral are wonderful stained glass. It is a place that must be visited at least once.
Akira Rikitsu — Google review
Saint Peter's Cathedral is the most important point on the map of Regensburg's history. Its imposing building is the only example of French Gothic in all of Bavaria. Earlier, there was a Romanesque temple in this place, but after a fire in the second half of the 13th century, it was decided to build a new structure. Construction work lasted over 250 years, although the construction of both towers was not completed until the 19th century. You can enter the cathedral for free from 6.30 am till 5.00 p. m. Inside, stained glass windows from the turn of the 14th and 15th centuries delight, which have been preserved in their original condition thanks to the city's avoidance of bombardment. According to some, it is the most beautiful collection in our part of Europe.
She is world-famous for her boys' choir, created a thousand years ago. From 1964 to 1994, its choirmaster was the elder brother of Joseph Ratzinger, by the way- a former member of the choir.
Judyta Ga?kowska — Google review
The cathedral was under construction but it did not affect the interior architecture. Spectacular stained glass art was definitely a highlight. The noon prayer session at 12:00 was perfect for meditating and finding some peace of mind in the middle of the day, but the organ music was a little underwhelming, because I expected more from the "intimidating"-looking "pipes" of the organ.

Dom St. Peter sits proud right in the heart of busy Altstadt of Regensburg, dotted by numerous restaurants and shops. A fine example of Gothic Architecture. Inside you can find several sculptures and beautiful stained glass windows. See the photos I've taken.

One of the tower still under renovation. Unlike other cathedral, St Peter doesn’t open tower for visit. It is free for visit. Toilet only available during service is conducted. Better empty bladder before visit.
* Woo Bai — Google review
We have already seen many cathedrals, but this cathedral made me ecstatic. What a beauty! Most of all I liked the stained glass windows. And although the cathedral looks a little dark, the old stained glass windows let in little light, but the atmosphere in the cathedral is very authentic. We really enjoyed. Now the cathedral is being reconstructed. But this does not prevent you from admiring the Gothic beauty of the temple.

The Regensburg pedestrian bridge over the Danube is a Medieval engineering masterpiece that has been in use since 1146. The bridge is made of stone and spans the river with 16 arches. It is still in use today and is a popular tourist destination.
The interesting thing about this Stone Bridge (Steinerne Brücke in German) is that it is one of the oldest bridges in Germany and an important Romanesque building in Regensburg. According to the natives of Regensburg, the bridge is shrouded in legend

….:It’s so nostalgic to be walking around a town on the Danube River that dates back to the medieval days of the 1200’s almost 800 years later and it is so well preserved and maintained. Very impressive is the beautiful “Clock-Towers” all around the town it is said that there are nine of them in total around the town of Regensburg. The Old Gate entrance to the town from the Danube River is so awesome 🤩 and well preserved. The cobble stone roads are still walkable no loose stones to trip over this tells you that those responsible are rep-lii doing an excellent job preserving what is to be encountered here in Regensburg for generations to come and see…NB! Something worthwhile to mention is the fact that the town’s leaders remember the citizens (Jews) that went missing during WW11 because around the town where these persons lived there is a high-lii polished “Brass-Plate” with their names on…May their souls R.I.P…😇

This is the main attraction to see in Regensburg. The bridge itself seems to recently have been cleaned or renovated, as the bricks seem to shine in the sun. The bridge links both sides of the historical city center to each other. It also offers great sunset shots over the Danube.

Make sure to visit this old stone bridge for a great view of the whole area. You can walk underneath the bridge, just be careful as it has no rails and there is danger of falling in the river.
The area around the bridge offers some great restaurants and walking trails.

A medieval masterpiece of medieval art, the stone bridge in Regensburg is a beautiful and soulful, slightly bulging bridge that is the most famous place of the city, apart from the cathedral and the old town. Inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, it captivates with its magic, especially the captivating view of the Dunsj, passing barges, the old entrance gate to the city and the bustling life along the banks of the river.

The Old Stone Bridge in Regensburg is a stunning piece of medieval architecture and an important historical landmark. This bridge, which dates back to the 12th century, spans the Danube River and has been a vital part of Regensburg's infrastructure for centuries.

Nestled in the heart of Regensburg, the Old Stone Bridge is a true testament to the city's rich history. As I strolled along its cobblestone path, I couldn't help but be captivated by the sheer beauty of this ancient structure. The weathered stones tell tales of centuries gone by, and the view of the Danube from the bridge is nothing short of breathtaking.
What sets the Old Stone Bridge apart is the sense of authenticity it exudes. Unlike some tourist spots, this bridge hasn't been overly commercialized. It's a place where you can immerse yourself in the past, imagining the footsteps of those who traversed it long before us.
The surrounding architecture adds to the charm, and the play of sunlight on the stone creates a picturesque scene that's perfect for capturing memories. Whether you're a history enthusiast or just seeking a quiet escape, the Old Stone Bridge is an absolute must-visit.

Definitely one of the best sites in Regensburg and a must see ...
Though the first time would always be the best, I enjoy my visit to this bridge, each time I go there ...
At your first time, and if you are not very used to the type of architecture available in the old towns of Germany, you will have a triple short of blast:
1- Enjoying the architecture of the old town in general and the surrounding of the bridge.
2- Enjoy seeing the Danube River, especially at night! The sound of the river's flow will provide you with an unbelievable!
3- Enjoy the bridge itself, its lights, its architecture, and the enthusiasm and live of the people that you see there.
Diverse animals live in this wildlife park featuring a vending machine with feed & a playground.
It's always a great idea to come to Höllohe, it's beautiful, the animals are super cute, and since they changed a few things, it's even better, we could see and feed all the Bambis 🤩 the playground is always fun for the kids, and parents can drink coffee and enjoy their time as well. Impressive, outstanding building. A few minutes by car from Regensburg away. Two parking places only a few minutes by feet away. Or you ride with a bike along the Donau. Perfect for a nice trip. Wonderful point of view.
Martin Vennewald — Google review
We parked car, got our ticket (2,50€), and then began to head up the stairs. Once we reached the top after a short walk, I instantly spotted the main building and wow, it’s impressive.
To the right are toilets, which were surprisingly clean, and a bit further ahead was the option to get some drinks and ice-cream. To the left is the Walhalla itself, and you can either take the stairs or head up the ramp to reach the inside.
You can walk along the arcade, and head around the building to reach the front. There you can either enjoy the scenery and fantastic view, or head down the stairs to enjoy a different perspective. I walked down all of the stairs, and then decided to take the ‘forest’ walk back up. And gosh, that really wasn’t the best decision I ever made. Only take this walk if you are prepared for a steed walk up.
If you want to, you can then head inside, which costs 4,50€ for a standard adult ticket. Currently only 35 people are allowed inside, and due to that I was able to take photo with not a lot of people walking around. I don’t know what numbers are usually allowed in, but if you want to enjoy it without masses of people, head there now or during the week.
The hall had been built in the style of Greek temples, and inside you can find busts of “great men and women” important to German history. I personally found the older ones really interesting look-wise, but the more modern ones rather lacking in comparison. Inside you will also find a statue of Ludwig I. who was the one responsible for this building. You have to wear a mask inside, and on the outside you need to be a bit careful as most visitors didn’t really pay attention to keeping distance or wearing their masks where they should have.
Overall the Walhalla is really worth a visit, especially if you like to take photos and enjoy the Greek architecture.

Impressive place with a lot of history, well kept. It has a small parking lot that we managed to park in summer. Cost of 2.5€ for parking a car (didn't return my 50 cents of change) and 4€ per person to enter the building. Amazing views.

It's quite a spectacular site, the views while you approach are magnificent. There is a cost to park and when you get to the top, if you want to look inside there is also a cost. I would just peek in inside as it is only that one room and not really worth the cost of going in. But I highly recommend coming having a picnic and taking in the great views of the Danube!!

Walhalla provides an extraordinary experience! The temple's awe-inspiring architecture left me speechless, adorned with intricate carvings and majestic columns. Upon entering, I discovered a remarkable collection of busts and plaques commemorating Germany's influential figures throughout history. The panoramic view of the Danube River from the temple was truly breathtaking, complemented by meticulously maintained gardens. For those with a passion for history, culture, and impressive architectural wonders, Walhalla is an absolute must-visit destination. The ticket price was €4.5 and car parking was around €2. And also accessible by public transportation. wholeheartedly give it a five-star rating!

……What an incredible experience to come and witness this picturesque site which the Neoclassical Temple is built on the top of the hill overlooking the Danube River flowing through the valley below! When you arrive at the parking area which has ample parking spaces for many vehicles there is a Parking Meter Machine where you pay first and display your voucher in the cars windscreen before making your ascent via more than a hundred long steps to the top! It’s so beautiful as the pathway is lined by very tall trees 🌲 displaying its autumn 🍂 colorful leaves 🍁 and the grass is lashes and green. When you arrive at the top in the distance you see what you are about to encounter the “PARTHENON” a massive Neoclassical temple. There are benches for you rest and catch your breath after the steep climb. The surroundings are impressive-lii beautiful with the well maintained landscapes surrounding the Temple. It’s really huge with many large marble pillars meters high. When you eventual-lii arrive at the front door and entrance you are overwhelmed by the beauty of the Danube river flowing below and the picturesque valley. It cost €4.50 per adult to gain entry to this Parthenon-like memorial to noted Germans! There are 130 bust the likes of Mozart, Einstein, Beethoven etc, etc. It’s really a fascinating experience to behold….a must visit when in this area near Regensburg! NB! There are very clean and user-friend-lii toilets …

Splendid view over the Danube river. Located slightly outside of Regensburg, easily reachable by bus and a short walk, this is a must see old temple. The beauty of the building is mesmerizing. A bit different from ancient buildings and architecure that you see in Germany. If the weather is clear you can easily spend an hour enjoying the views.

Beautiful building and architecture. It appears older than it is. The views are stunning.
In case you are not very mobile, there are a few steps to navigate to get up so plan for a bit of extra time.
We didn’t go inside as it was near closing time so I can’t comment on whether that is worth the entry fee.

If you are in the area around Regensburg, Germany, I would highly recommend a stop at Walhalla! Compared to the rest of the region, it is not as old, but incredibly majestic and it provides a fantastic view of the Danube river and, in the distance, a view of the city. I would encourage a visit near dusk, where you can enjoy a beautiful sunset (maybe with a picnic basket). For the best views, get there early as there can be a crowd on evenings with good weather.
Originally rebuilt old farm houses of the region in a beautiful large area of woods and rolling fields. It is an impressive setup to show the hard labor of mostly 19th century and early 20cent farm work. Wonderful to look at AND learn so much at the same time.

I also like the atmosphere in the park. It is a little bit older, but very attractive and down-to-earth.

A wonderful time with our Granddaughter. The entire park is made for everyone to enjoy. Rides for all ages included withing the entrance price. Wonderful walking paths or ride around the park on a park train. Enjoy the Flower Gardens and there are 2 BLACK SWANS for you to enjoy.

Nice park, suitable for 2-13 year old, however especially 6-10 year old children need to be accompanied still in most rides. The parks botanic is really beautiful, but somewhat unattended. The hygiene concept in this park is very questionable, with no disinfection possibilities other than at the toilets and "mandatory" adress registration folder laying unattended in the restaurants. Food prices are through the roof, so better be self-suppliant. There are better parks than this one.

We had a really good time with 2 kids in lovely summer day. You can spend here all day easily without waiting in a queue.
Food and drinks are quite expensive here.
If you are fed up with attractions you can hide in "Little Versailles" gardens.

One of the best amusement parks , especially for you family with 3yr old kid. All the rides are enjoyable. We visited on Monday and enjoyed fullest. Service is friendly. People can spend 3-5 hrs. Many kid friendly rides and designed for kids. Go for it if you go near by.
Update: 14May2022
3rd time in the park as we love it. But this time on a Saturday, the park is little busy. There is some waiting time for Dashing Cars, Go-cart, and water rafting ride. The Park closes at 5PM. Other rides are ok. So, don't go on weekend.

2020 - Nice, especially for kids under 12.
2022 - We was back this year and a little has changed. A lot of attractions are managed by young guys or girls: once they start the machines they keep on watching the celly phone instead of the kids, they even seem to be working. This happened a lot of times. To the owner: be careful of the security of your guests and take a look of the workers always playing with telephones.

Great place for the kids. Does not matter how full it might look like..still there is room for everyone to have fun...I just love it.
Abdelrahman Erlebach — Google review
Great park for kids up to about 10 to 12. There is a bit for every kid from sandpits and waterslides to a bobsled track and a wild water ride. It feels like a small family run place and it quite a few of the people operating the rides operate two or three of them at once walking from one to another.
It all feels kind of dated like time forgot about the place and that gives it a special charm.
If you have small kids and are in the area it most certainly is worth a visit on a nice summer day.
Amazing place and highly recommend to visit

(Translated by Google) If you don't inform yourself beforehand, you will easily miss the very impressive castle/palace and drive past it. It is a huge medieval complex with a German/Austrian history. Large parts have already been restored. Nevertheless, there is still plenty to do. There is ample parking in the town square in front of the castle for reasonable fees. The nearby church is also worth a visit

Museum Monday meant that it was closed when I visited, but even just walking around outside with its stunning architecture and details and affordable views of the small town in the valley below was worth dropping by. The interior - from peeking thru the windows and from photos I've seen mean I'll definitely go back to see it another time.

It was a good idea to stop there from the moment we stepped in the courtyard. What had surprised me was that everything was deserted like and no soul to be seen. The restaurant was closed, the souvenir shop also. The surrounding buildings are not in shape, but the monastery will take your breath away. I say for a few tens of minutes and just grasped the pleasent wind and playful clouds at the monastery entrance. We took a peak through the keyhole inside and saw a lady that was cleaning the place. All doors were closed and we could not enter. A gentleman was seen, but he was too busy using the phone to talk to us. He just said know to my question if we can enter the edifice. Too bad. I feel sorry for his attitude. Overall, the feeling and the experience is very nice, but it is regrettable that one of the biggest monasteries in Czech Republic is just deserted like this. I mean, I would have definitely have spent some of my hard reserved cash for something I the shop and for certain in the restaurant. I recommend!

Pretty castle. We we're looking for a place to stop on our way to Munich to let our son get out and stretch. You can't get inside without a tour, which is only at certain times. We just walked around (actually went behind the castle and got to the dead end and had to turn around). Didn't get inside. There is free parking and a lake next to the parking (across the road). Tour is 7 Euro for foreigners.

Please bear in mind the monastery is closed from 1.11. - 31.3. This means you cannot visit the monastery inside but, you can walk around the monastery area (for free).
The parking lot is right in front of the monastery - for free.

One of the biggest monasteries in the Czech Republic. Very beautiful architecture and great views inside and out. They did not offer an English tour during my visit but did give me a book with everything written in English. Tour seemed quite boring but the views were amazing. They also have a restaraunt on location.
I rarely give 5 stars to anywhere but this place is fabulous. Top sight in Klatovy. It’s very modern with good explanatory information. A few video reels as well. The mummies are amazing. Most preserved I’ve ever seen a yet in the world. As they explain, it’s natural mummification because of the hot dry atmosphere. A must see in Klatovy. Unfortunately I can’t post pictures of the mummies because it’s not allowed by Google. Same as art that shows nudity. Art censorship

Plzeň Zoo is a combination of zoo and botanic gardens that boasts over 1300 species. The park offers a breeding program and visitors can see animals such as rhinos, cheetahs, hippos, lemurs, and leopards with their cubs. There are snack bars available throughout the zoo which is quite big and takes approximately 5 hours to explore due to the abundance of animals to admire.
Surprisingly big with lots of exotic animals. Unfortunately tigers were not out on display but the Lion cage made up for it! Super cool how they presented the lions, let's you stand just a few feet away with nothing but glass between you so makes for awesome photo opp!

On a Friday in March, there was no crowd, so the visit was really smooth (except for some construction work - but that's reasonable that they do the expansion of animal pavilions in low season).

Very good experience overall. The Dino park is very childish and small and is only good for children but it is very expensive. Don't waste your money for the Dino park. The zoo is beautiful and has lots of snack bars around. Quite big and we needed about 5 hours plus as there are many many animals to admire. The lemurs are the best as they roam freely around you. That alone got our money back which is very fun! The birds look the most unhealthy in the zoo as the cages have been built too low. The birds are not able to fly at all. The leopard mother is very fierce but her 2 cubs are extremely adorable. Recommended to go if you are in that area!

Very nice middle-size Zoo, parking at front door payed at entrance, fine entrance fee, many toilets and restaurants available, the most seen thing I can write is the cleanliness, every enclosure was very clean and well arranged, animals looked in very good condition, snakes and other reptiles were the most exciting, but underground was very ineteresting too, and of course the Czech corner was beautiful, I recommend this Zoo...

I really nice zoo for a good price. They were currently reconstructing the lion's den but we still got to see them. The descriptions were written in both Czech and English. I really liked their indoor expositions, terrariums and cacti expositions. The Asian gardens were also very interesting. There were restaurants all around with pretty reasonable prices. If you want a map, ask the cashier when buying your ticket.

The Cathedral of St. Bartholomew is a Gothic cathedral built in the late 13th-century with the Czech Republic's tallest spire. It showcases Renaissance paintings and provides a beautiful panoramic view of Plzen and its main square from the top, which can be reached through wide stairs that are not too steep. A net cage completely encloses the platform at the top for safety reasons.
A grey cathedral. The cathedral is a wonderful example of gothic medieval architecture. You can walk around the entire structure, as it is located in the middle of the beautiful main square of the city. The interior has many lovely paintings and altars. The hanging central cross with mourning John and Maria’s is exceptional. You can climb the impressive tower for a far view of the area. Well worth a visit, which is free when we went there.

The inside of the church isn't anything special, but the tower is definitely worth the climb and admission costing only a couple of euro. It's the tallest tower in Czechia and offers stunning views overlooking Plzens historical city center. Dogs not welcome.

The St. Bartholomew's Cathedral in Pilsen is a Gothic cathedral from the late 13th century, adorned with Renaissance paintings and boasting the tallest church tower in the Czech Republic. Visiting the cathedral was a stairway to both awe and exhaustion! The climb to the top's 13 floors felt like a marathon for my calves, but the view was so stunning that I momentarily forgot I had legs. It literally took my breath away - and not just from the stairs. The panoramic spectacle from the tower is worth every step, and the feeling of accomplishment at the summit is like reaching the pinnacle of a comedic workout routine. Definitely a must-visit, just be prepared for a workout with a side of breathtaking beauty!

The Cathedral of St. Bartholomew in Plzen, Czech Republic, is a magnificent religious monument that showcases a unique blend of Gothic and Baroque architecture.
Located in the city's historic center, the cathedral's exterior is a stunning example of Gothic design, with soaring spires and intricate stonework that have been beautifully preserved over the centuries. The interior is equally impressive, with an ornate Baroque altar and a stunning ceiling fresco that depicts scenes from the life of St. Bartholomew.
The Brewery Museum, situated in a historical cellar, showcases models of old breweries and a modern-day bottler. Visitors can partake in beer tastings while learning about the brewing process. The tour is complete with a knowledgeable guide who takes visitors through every aspect of the brewery. Cool and informative place!
The underground tour was all sold out, so we only got a chance to visit the museum exhibition. Haven't expected it to be so cool! You can really get a look and feel of the old-style brewing "technology". For someone not much familiar with the whole process or brewing history in CZ, this is a great place to visit.
Might be a good idea to book in advance to make sure you can get in, especially the underground tour and on holidays.

After Plzeňský Prazdroj, this one was not interesting. I don't say that this place is bad or so, but after visiting Plzeňský Prazdroj, this place was not interesting. I would call it even boring. Most of the information was repeated for me after the tour that I went for few moment ago. On the top of that, the tour at the museum is done by app in your phone that plays separate comments. Audio is narrated in slow pace so I was bored.
Most of the brewing procedure is illustrated by working figures. I would say that this place is suitable more for children or so.
The most interesting thing at the place was a video that was showing how wood barrels for beer are produced. This was done nicely and it was something new for me, as I haven't see a thing like this even at Plezeňský Prazdroj tour.

If you go to Plzen you have to visit: Beer museum, the undergrounds are quite impressive, Saint Bartholome cathedral including the bell tower, Pilsen urquell brewery, drinking beer in the oldest bar of the city (U Salzmann bar/hotel) and also IPA in Beer Factory. 6 waypoints you could compress in 2 days but, since everything is cheap in Czech Rep, I recommend to runaway fast through Paris or London but to take your time to enjoy the beers in the many different bars on the rivers sides and parks. In Prague and Pilsen I had really a very good time
When visiting Pilsen, the Old Pilsner Urquell Brewery water Tower is a must-see attraction for beer enthusiasts. Rabí Castle
Castle
Sights & Landmarks
Ancient Ruins
Hilltop, fortified castle complex ruins, dating from the 14th century, destroyed by fire in 1720.
This castle ruin is easily accessible from the center of the town Rabí. The parking now costs 100 Kč per car, guided tour 160 Kč per person, discounted 130 Kč. We chose limited unguided walk for 50 Kč as we were pressed for time. The short access directly to the ticket booth and castle gate is extremely uneven and steep, full of jutting stones and slippery on a rainy day when we were there. Once you get in, the walking gets much easier, as there are more level dirt paths and maintained grass areas. Inside the restored horse stable was a nice photo exhibition of Šumava localities. When you are done here, consider a stop at the well known restaurant in the town square.

The largest castle ruin complex in Czechia.
To see more than the first courtyard, you need to pay quite a steep entry fee of 150 CZK/person, which also includes a 40 minute long tour guide in Czech.
The tour starts at the precise time, no matter what the weather conditions, which can be harsh if it's windy or rainy (remember, it's a ruin). Our guide was a bit rough around the edges and sometimes shouted at the kids or adults in the group to stay quiet, but I personally enjoyed his no BS character.
Overall interesting, but I couldn't find the price justifiable, because the complex gets enough visitors and doesn't aim to restore the castle into its full original state.
Joe Lobotka — Google review
Castle ruins in a beautiful state with a great location above the city. Well seen from around the city as well as great views from the castle over the surrounding area.
Only the inner court and the old stables can be visited without a tour. Various tours are offered (here even in English) to see all of the remaining buildings of the castle you need to book various tours. Due to time limitations we only could take the palace tour.
Would definitely visit again to explore the rest of the site.

No English tours and they don't allow you go around without a guide. So you have to pay for a Czech tour guide who you will never understand. Also if you pay to enter just to the castle ground you have to pay 50 czk per person and let me tell you, if I dropped somewhere and lost 50 czk, I'd feel much much less sad than paying castle Rabi, literally nowhere to go around. Sad.
Medieval water castle with towers & turrets, plus extensive grounds home to fallow deer & a cafe.

Beautiful . There are 2 yours available. These tours are given in Czech but they do have printed booklets that go along with the tour in English German Russian and i think French. I loved it especially because this is where one of my favorite movies was partly filmed, Šíleně Smutná Princezna. You can enter the Castle gardens separately which costs 30 KČ per person. Beautiful 300+ year old trees. Lots of beautiful peacocks and you can pay to feed deer.

Nice castle. But the main attraction is deer feeding so don’t forgot to take some carrots with you (local deers love them)

Beautiful castle with a huge english park full
of animals ( deers / alpacas / ducks etc. ) We came here for christmas market and theirs beautiful park where you feel connected to nature. It’s only 1 hour drive from Prague, definitely place worthy of visiting.

Fantastic place to walk and visit on weekends. The park is huge and walking relaxes you and you see the deer pass by your side. You can offer them special food (carrot) that you take there. Going around with the lamas is a great experience. The events that are organized in the place are an opportunity to learn about local products and try international food, drinking some wine, drinking beer or just resting.

I had a wonderful time visiting Blatna Castle and its deer park. The castle is a hidden gem, with a beautiful exterior and interesting history. The guided tour inside the castle was informative and engaging, giving a great insight into the life of nobility in the past. The deer park is a peaceful and serene oasis, with well-maintained pathways and plenty of deer roaming freely. It was a joy to observe the deer up close, and feeding them was an unforgettable experience. The castle grounds are picturesque and offer many opportunities for stunning photos. Overall, I highly recommend a visit to Blatna Castle and deer park for its beauty, tranquility, and historical significance

A bit park with an area to feed some deers. They are way over fed and don’t really like to be touched. Nice to bring kids if it’s not too far from you. Not packed with tourists as it’s basically in the middle of nowhere. Bring cut apples, they like it. Carrots much less

Great for a visit with kids! The castle park is very big and good for walks. There are also many deer in it that can be fed by hand. At the time of our visit there was also a nice Lego exhibition inside the castle. I recommend Blatna for a visit.
Renaissance-era castle with its origins in the 12th century, with dining in medieval-themed tavern.

It was a majestic place with lots of history, beautiful views and great audio guides.
Eldar Bakerman — Google review
Access is only available on a tour. All tours are in Czech with with audio guides included in the price of 195 Kc.
The English audio guide was a very abbreviated version of the actual descriptions of the guide and in places it was not accurate.
Our group comprised one couple who spoke Czech and us. The guide at times spoke for 5 minutes after the audio guide finished and he made no effort to include us in the tour. He seemed to be a humourless soul but to be fair he did the 11.00, 12.00 and 13.00 tours back to back with no break between tours.
What is on display is ok, unfortunately the inadequacy of the audio guide means I can not recommend this tour.

Staff of Zbiroh was not welcoming at all. We paid 9,000 Kč for a night stay and were asked to pay for all the activities again - like pool is paid and wasn’t even available to use, minigolf and even chess you had to pay for. I find that really upsetting.. would not recommend staying there.

The Holy Mountain is a Baroque-era pilgrimage church located in Pribram. The church features a highly intricate silver altar and a renowned statue of the Virgin Mary. This site is situated atop a mountain, which can be challenging to climb, but the stunning beauty of the place makes it well worth the effort. Additionally, there is an impressive monastery complex located on the hill above Pribram that is definitely worth visiting when in town.
Great historical place to visit.
Be ready for long and uphill walk if you are a pedestrian. Don't worry, it is just 1.2 km from Pribram center. So, 15 minute walking is not big deal.

The pilgrimage site Holy Mountain Příbram is one of the most beautiful and also the most visited. Frequent church services, especially in the run-up to Christmas. The area is usually open and accessible to pilgrims. In addition to the winter months, stalls with refreshments or holy objects are also open.

A very beautiful place, climbing the mountain is not easy, but when I overcame this distance and climbed the mountain, I was delighted with the bewitching beauty, go to Přibram I recommend visiting this place I assure you you will like it...... 😊🇨🇿❤
Jorgensen Khrodgeyer — Google review
Holy Mountains It is built into a large square and inside the square is sitting the old church (Basilica). When you have visited Loreta in Prague then you know what I am talking about, but the Loreta place with a church is much older than this one and so has more impact on visitors in terms of Christianity and spirituality than the Holy Mountain place - saying based on own feelings how I have perceived those places where hardly you can compare the Loreta Church' atmosphere of the place with anything. The other big difference is in Loreta place when you purchase photographs permission for 4 euros then you can take photographs everywhere. On the other hand in Holy Mountain you can take Photographs anywhere and it is quit strict so don't even try it. This mean my trip even did not start it and very quickly ended. Surely I went thought the whole comolex but visitor can take photographs only on the front of the entry to the Holy Mountain which si also nice but it is just a front face of the place. The other thing is the Loreta fee entry is an entry to the whole Loreta complex including the church, the pathways halls, two arts exhibitions and jewellery exhibition and so on. On the other hand in Holy Mountain visitor pay for every attraction separate such for entry to exhibitions, museum, for tower, for guidance walk around the path halls, for jewellery exhibitions and so on and tourist guide told even from the tower most likely is not permitted take photographs which was really too much for me to bite as never ever happens to me that I will pay extra fees for tower entry and then I would be not allow to take photographs surroundings around the place and that is really in my view unreasonable rules that simply discourage me to explore more about this nice place. So a stairs of the exit of the path halls was great to take stairs to the centre of the town Příbram which also did not exceeded my expectations and that my walk around the centre ended quickly around. Anyway, it a nice place (Holy Mountain) so when you will have a way around it is a nice place to visit and take a walk. Otherwise in Czech Republic, there are lots of similar places which might give to visitors in my opinion a little more because it is not all about the shine and gold.

Beautiful place, beautifully refurbished. It's an excellent example of Czech Baroque. I love the airiness, the colours, the welcoming atmosphere of the place. I do not miss the heavy marble style of Italian Baroque architecture. The corridor/stairway from the town up to Svatá Hora (actually a stairway to heaven 😉) is interesting as well as challenging with its 343 stairs.
Wojciech Branny — Google review
It's OK and there are interesting architectural aspects like the stairs leading to the town center but nothing to write home about.
Should you decide to go anyway, taste the mead and the local biscuit (oplatki) as together they are an odd but interesting combination.
Křivoklát Castle, a 12th-century hunting lodge nestled in a dense forest, has a fascinating history as a royal residence and even a prison. The castle was rebuilt in the 19th century and now features a chapel, dungeon, and museum showcasing sleighs. A tour of the castle includes highlights such as the impressive library with over 52,000 books, the Royal Hall, and Gothic chapel.

Been here numerous times. It's close to where I stay with family. The castle only has one tour. It's been the same tour for 20+ years. I love going back none the less. Beautiful views over the Vltava river. Gardens and you can even get on a boat tour here. You can Go from Orlík to Zvíkov on the boat. They do one way or round trips. A couple of cafes here at Orlík as well. And the village has great restaurants and cafe bars as well. I highly recommend this area. It is one of my favorites. I really liked the castle and surrounding area. The tour inside the castle is guided only, which I'm not a fan of but I was told our guide was very good and made some nice jokes too. (I don't speak Czech, but of course information sheets are given out in other languages that explain the rooms, you just miss out on the jokes).
No photos allowed inside the castle, but there are beautifully styled rooms, large collection of shotguns and deer antlers. Even one that was shot by Franz Ferdinand!

Karlštejn Castle is a beautiful Gothic castle in the countryside southwest of Prague. It is home to many royal treasures, including paintings and portraits of the emperor and his family. There are regular tours available, which are recommended if you want to see this magnificent building up close.
Excellent bathrooms and cafe up at the castle. Also were street vendors in the courtyard serving food and beer. Not a bad wake in that environment at all! Great view of the city or rather town below. The tour of the castle itself was engaging and interesting. Just about the right length of time.

อุดม จันทร์พินิจ — Google review
Located about 30 kilometers southwest of Prague, Karlštejn Castle started life in 1348 and has since risen in the ranks to one of the best castles in the Czech Republic.
Karlštejn Castle was founded by the Charles IV, King of Bohemia and Holy Roman Emperor as his private residence and a place of safekeeping royal treasures, especially his collections of holy relics and the Imperial Crown Jewels. In 1355 Charles IV stayed here for the first time, overseeing the construction and decoration work, especially in chapels. The construction was completed in 1365 when the Chapel of the Holy Cross in the Great Tower was consecrated.
The Chapel of the Holy Cross was the place of safekeeping the imperial crown jewels until 1420 when the Hussite wars (religious civil war) began, and they had not ever returned to Karlštejn Castle. After the wars in 1436, the Bohemian crown jewels were taken to the Chapel of the Holy Cross where they remained till 1619.
The castle was a representative residence of Charles IV and his son Wenceslas IV only, i.e. till 1419. As a fortress, Karlštejn Castle protected the crown jewels, holy relics, and royal archives till the 17th century.
After 1480 the castle was rebuilt in the late Gothic style, in the last quarter of the 16th century in the Renaissance style. During the last reconstruction that took place at the end of the 19th century (by architect Josef Mocker) in the spirit of purism, the castle gained its present appearance.
The preserved original stair-arrangement of individual castle buildings is very impressive. The lower section with a small courtyard by the Well Tower and the Burgrave´s House continue through the majestic five-storey Imperial Palace and the Marian Tower. At the highest point, the construction of the castle culminates in a monumental, 60-meter-high Great Tower and its massive fortifications.
An unique original 14th-century wall decoration, a set of 129 paintings created by Master Theodoric in the Chapel of the Holy Cross (the largest in the world), the largest portrait gallery of kings of Bohemia in the Czech Republic, a replica of the royal Crown of Bohemia, a unique castle well. The castle is also famous as a set to a comedy play Night at Karlštejn Castle by Czech poet Jaroslav Vrchlický.
After centuries of lying in near ruin, much needed restorative work has restored the Gothic castle to all its former glory, making it an immensely popular destination. The bustling tourist crowds are a stark contrast to the peaceful surrounding countryside which offers views of Karlstejn’s stunning exterior.
From November, 01st, 2021 to March, 31st, 2022 the castle is closed to the public, including the garden.

Great day trip just 30 minute train ride from Prague. The mandatory guided tours are informative and full of neat information. During winter months, the main part is closed off for preservation, so best to visit after May. We still enjoyed our time at the castle and in town, despite not being able to see everything.

Beautiful bohemian castle not far outside of Prague. My guide said many consider it to be the most beautiful in the whole country. However, I visited in April and a portion of the castle (including the chapel) was closed to the public. Also, the village that the castle is located in is seasonal, as there were no stores or restaurants open in the town on a Tuesday afternoon! I would recommend visiting between May-October.

Such a beautiful stop, this could be a quick adventure throughout your visit , it literally takes less than an hour to get here from the main train station and like 20 min walk from the train stop to the castle , the tours are 300 czk for the most basic one , and there are a lot of shops and restaurants that are along the way.

Impressive views, of and from the castle.
It's a nice good really up the hill, through the small village at the foot of the castle.
Many pitstop temptations before getting to the castle itself, I suggest considering a restaurant stop when coming back from the castle.
The tours are organized in Czech and in English.
Although there was a partial reconstruction in the courtyard that didn't impact the overall feeling of the place, its history and beauty.
Florin Hercal — Google review
Karlstejn Castle may not have a lot of history to back it up, considering it was constructed in less than 10 years and served as a storage for crowns and jewels rather than an official residence, but it's worth a day trip from Prague. If you don't drive a car, I recommend taking a one-way cab (Uber / Bolt) from Prague to the castle, after which you would only need to walk up to 5 minutes to the entrance where the tours begin. It's convenient and saves you the uphill climb. While going back, there are of course no cabs available so you'd need to take the train. The train station is a 30 minute walk from the entrance of the castle, right on the other side of the river, and the train itself takes only 45 minutes to get you to the Prague city center. It's quite convenient.
Second, I also recommend buying tour tickets in advance on their website, after which you only need to wait at the meeting point and do not have to queue up for tickets (note that you cannot enter the castle without a guided tour.) There are three types of tours available - I booked number 3 (View from the Great Tower), which is a short, 30 minute guided walk up to the fourth floor of the tour, and then you get 15 minutes to take pictures from the tower. Note that the tower is an enclosed space and the pictures are taken through windows, so you cannot take a picture of yourself with the castle from up the tower. This tour involved climbing some stairs but it wasn't too much.
There are also some areas you can explore on your own after the tour ends - the Clock Tower and the Well Tower are notable ones. I highly recommend the Well Tower, another 2 minute walk from the entrance, which has splendid views of the entire castle and is the best point to take a picture of yourself with the castle background! The well itself is also quite deep, and I also recommend a small souvenir shop by it, really cute hangings, bells, and fridge magnets available there.
The first few pictures I've added are from the Great Tower guided tour, and the last one is from the Well Tower. :)

Kristyna was our guide and she was absolutely delightful. We went on the Czech Tour (for time's sake) and she figured out pretty quickly that we didn't understand Czech, so when we stopped at different spots on the tour she would then speak English for us.

Wonderful castle. Bring Czech crowns though. Most things in the little town on the way only take cash.

There's nothing to see inside the castle!!! Total disappointment. The castle is just beautiful from the outside.... The excursion is about 30 minutes or so. I couldn't believe that people pay money for that. It is forbidden to take pictures inside but actually there's nothing to photograph :( It is much more exciting to go around the castle and take pictures and read the history in Wikipedia.

Excellent guide in English. It’s just a shame the visit is divided into three separate tours you can’t book at the same time as you miss out on a lot of rooms.
I recommend you plan your visit ahead and try to book all three back to back.
The grounds are breathtaking and so is the view. It’s real easy to reach the castle via train from Prague (40min ride - a train every half hour + 15min walk).
Don’t miss out on the video in the movie room, by the toilet under the main courtyard. It gives a nice picture of how the castle came to be.

we had a bad and stressful experience. We visted the castle at 8. March at 3pm. the lady who led the Czech tour didn't let us join the English group even though we don't understand a word of Czech. of course, she didn't even try to speak to us in English or explain herself, so we stood for over 20 minutes like complete idiots and listened to something we didn't understand at all. after the friendly guide from the English group agreed to let us join her group, the person in question still insisted that we must stay in her group. she was terribly unpleasant and unkind and annoying. it is completely unclear to me why and what is the point of it, but the experience we had was very miserable. another thing is that until 1.may. over half of the castle is closed. including the most important part that remained closed to visitors when we were there. the ticket price was not adjusted for that, but we paid the full price as if we had seen everything, which I personally think is wrong. I wouldn't go back again

Absolutely GORGEOUS CASTLE! There are several tours for visiting different parts of the castle, tours are available in both Czech and English. Drinks and snacks are available there in the castle. You cannot do self guiding tours, which I don't blame them for, and it's quite nice! I was little bit worried if it will be worth it, but I can DEFENITLY RECCOMEND it for everyone (best teambuilding so far). Staff, premises, activities and bus driver which we have ordered were extremely nice and helpful. Thanks a lot, will come again for sure :)

Great experience, many challenging rooms, and each requiring little different set of skills. We had a lot of fun during competing the other teams. It was worth the travel to the quite detached location. Only issue was that we didn't fully understood the rules before the game and had to repeat the first room several times before understanding how to correctly initiate the game and how to finish. So learn all before not to loose time as the game is paid by play time. Recommended.

Went there with my family and most of the rooms were unbearable to stay in cause of the smell. Many things were broken or just not functional. Very expensive for a bad maintained attraction.

Practically nothing was done properly. Some of the challenges where not properly maintained - red floor did not trigger the alarm, hitting the hole with the ball many times did not register it, you could unknowingly skip a checkpoint, successfully reach the end... but the system registered it as a failure. Some of the staff behaved like it was forced to be there. Food tasted funny, Birrel also tasted funny, had no foam (probably old). Could be a great place if someone cared.

Awesome experience of fun, team bonding, competition. We were 3 great friends and emerged victorious with one of the best game score, as even greater friends, we went all in with our skills and engagement.
The environment is awesome, huge and beautiful, the chambers are well balanced with skill areas such as patience, dexterity, power/Stamina and intelligence. Even though we would appreciate more endurance type of rooms, with moving obstacles etc., there was only one. But we probably had expectations because of Ninja Factor and the Boyard TV show.
I understand that this was constructed for wider public, so all could make it if they tried hard enough, not just for top physically skilled people, its not a TV show with many attendees and big prize.
Our team was also not fully satisfied with the higher price, either there could be +5 more rooms or so (now being 25 total) or lesser price. This way we were pushed to rush in order not to pay much, coz you pay for the time played. Otherwise we would slow down a bit more and had a feedback, celebration after each round.
All in all, great experience, totally worth it. Made our day!
Period furnishings, works by famed Dutch painters & seasonal festivals at a centuries-old castle.
A stunning castle with a rich history. This is a nice visit outside Prague (approx 40 min by train)—-It is a short walk from the station to the castle. The Lobkowicz Family has a long Czech history and have opened up this historic palace for all the enjoy.
Our tour guide, Karel, did an amazing job. Very knowledgeable and polite.
Castle grounds are beautiful. We loved our visit.

An amazing guided tour around a castle/chateau with a lot of history not far from Prague.
Hopefully some secret passage ways can be explored in the future, but this is all about the customer experience, ensuring they leave amazed at what has been seen and heard.
With the possibility of events and festivals to be had, the increase of tourism is likely to be quick.
Highly recommended.

It is renesance castle from 16th and its ovner is Lobkowitz family. Ticket cost 150 czk and you can enter only with guid.Tour is every hour, there is also possibility of kids tour. In my visit there was one thing who angry me, part of my group was women who was very rude. On one side she constantly order others be quietly and other side she always interupted our guide.

This is nice castle, definitelly worth visiting. I would recomend to visit together with other castle in Roudnice nad Labem because tour guide will be making a lot of references.

Nicely looking castle, located in a small village north of Prague. It takes about 40 minutes to get there by car. Alternatively, it's possible to get there by train. The castle is located at the bank of Vltava river, so the views during hiking along the trails are very good. As for the interiors, it's just another castle, nothing special.

Interesting castle, with various guided tours. We went on a family tour, interesting with costumes, but not very adjusted to what children care about (only in Czech). Also visit Dvorak's birth house next door. Accessible for cyclists, though not for wheelchairs. Small café and souvenir shop in reception.
Magnus Ohman — Google review
The guided tour is really interesting. The complex is very beautiful, especially the exteriors. I did not like the interior at all, only the armoury. The rest is just furniture and furnishings.

Very nice tour, great guide Karel !! Definitely recommend if you are near by

Interesting tour, with the option for English text while taking the tour with a Czech group (cheaper than English speaking tour). One of the best gift shops we've seen in a place like this. Definitely worth checking out if modern history is your thing.

Wunderfully restored castle after being returned to the original owners, the Lobkowicz family. Many exquisite details remain and unique furniture and paintings are to be seen during one of the informative guided tours. Czech only but they have English or German booklets.
This brewery is located on the top of a monastery compound in the heart of Prague and offers a variety of carefully crafted beer styles. The brewery also has an adjoining restaurant and sunny courtyard perfect for relaxing after a day of sightseeing.
Stopped by after exploring the castle for a while. Easy tram ride up, unique location at the monastery. Service was very friendly, accommodated us despite not having a reservation. We had pork and chicken schnitzel and enjoyed both. Really enjoyed the dark lager beer for the cold weather
Joshua Temple — Google review
Stylish brewery in a super location. Friendly staff, reasonable prices. In the menu is mainly Czech local food, portions are quite large, quality is avarage. The beer production (st.Norbert) follows modern trends, you can choose from 6 different kinds of beer. All of them are delicious and strong. I think that this would be a must stop in Prague. Enjoy...

What a great atmosphere here, even on a cold April spring! Chicken schnitzel was accompanied by an amazing velvety mash. Beer onion soup is highly recommended. Roast sausages in dark lager sauce have tangy barbecue taste to it. Surrounded by the monastery, this makes for an interesting restaurant. Also the beers are amazing, as any you find in the Czech Republic. Service isn’t the greatest, but i wasn’t expecting to much.

Really really good beer and food. We came with a group and they were fast and efficient. However, the portions were small but I’m not sure if that’s cause we were a group or not. We had the amber lager and the hazy ipa and I don’t even like beer and I drank it all. Everything was delicious and I would recommend!

Goulash was... not OK. Pretty tough meat, and not too much of it. Expected much better, given the reviews.
The beer is fairly good if you prefer IPA and the likes. The waitress was nice. Overall, 3/5.
Roman Lymariev — Google review
After a walking tour, our guide recommended this place for good beers and local cuisine. Couldn't have gotten a better one.
The goulash was delicious and hearty, and their beer selection was simply amazing. One of the best lagers I've ever had, and the amber was very well balanced and had a delicious taste.

Good food but also very good beer. For the moment they have delivered the most interesting beer on our trip.
Håkan Edman — Google review
Crisp beer, flawless taste, seems like they practice monastery brewery policy to not earn money on the beer becuae it was ridiculous cheap compared to quality. Enjoyed very much food also 🤌🥳
Emma Granbom Hellstr?m — Google review
Cool brewery to visit while in Prague located adjacent to the monastery proper. Good selection of beers and food. The cherry sour ale was decent and the pork schnitzel was excellent. Both indoor and outdoor seating are available. Be sure to check out the monastery and library while you're there.

The most delicious beer of my life. Simple and high quality. Really recommended. Some of the staff were friendly and some were unfriendly, but the beer was so delicious that I didn't care. As you climb up the slope, the beer tastes better and the scenery along the way is beautiful, so I recommend going on foot.

Very good food and beer. Very close to Hradčany, but the quality is high, it is not a typical tourist trap. If you want to try knedliki, this is the perfect place. They have their own beer, cheap and tasty. Lots of types. Inside, it is cozy, traditional and clean. The only minus for the waiters, who themselves ask for a tip. Well, that should have been my decision. But yes, you have to come here and try.
Damian Górecki — Google review
Very good food, friendly staff, delicious beer, decent price. It just happened to start raining while we were at the table, and the staff made sure each customer was comfortable. A positive experience. Even though I'm repeating myself, I'll say it again: the beer is delicious here.

Good place for tasting Czech Beer. Fries was good. The second dish's chicken was perfect with very soft texture, potato dumplings neither good nor bad.

Good restaurant and the best beer.
I didn’t recognize the 1kg of the pork hock but It was too much for 2 people. Because we ordered with tartar steak also.
I wanted to try other deserts but we had nothing to do but only packed the rest of the food to take away. The beer was so good.

Came here for lunch after a morning a walking through Prague.
Beers, schnitzel, and onion soup hit the spot. And a little apple strudel to make it complete.
A nice staff and they seated us right away.
Adam Lang — Google review
We only tried the amber beer and the dessert on a sunny day at a terrace. Id say both the beer and the desserts were really good but the service was just ok. Had a mix of both good and bad waiters and some of them kinda were a bit irritating with their service level. Nevertheless, the food and the sitting area were nice!
Jelly — Google review
I deliberately visited between lunch and dinner because I thought there would be a wait. At that time, all the tables were full, and since it was cold, we said we wanted to sit at a table inside. They asked if sharing a table was okay, and we said okay. At the same table, three tourists from Austria were drinking beer. They made us feel comfortable and we happily ordered. I intentionally ordered several different types of beer and tried them, and for food, I ordered ribs and onion soup to go with the beer. As I heard, the ribs were plentiful and the two of us were quite satisfied. Needless to say, the taste of the beer was the best. The staff were all friendly, and many services were provided quickly. This is a place I want to stop by again the next time I visit Prague!

Strahovské nádvoří 301, 118 00 Praha 1-Hradčany, Czechia
The Strahov Monastery is a medieval monastery with a large library and Baroque church. It is home to an extensive religious collection, including Rococo and Baroque paintings, Rudolfian art, and Gothic designs. The monastery also has a beautiful Philosophical Library with an exquisite ceiling painted by Franz Anton Maulbertsch entitled Enlightenment.
The walk is an uphill journey on cobblestone streets with amazing views, cute shops, restaurants and souvenirs and you get to come across some breathtaking architecture and views of the city on the walk up. The library is one of the top five most beautiful libraries in the world. They have bibles written by hand before the printing press reached Europe. Very Cool to see in person.

The people who work there (similar to a lot of places in Prague) are not nice or helpful. We were looking for the brewery and were answered very rudely.
As for it being the best beer in Czech Republic... we've had better...
Dana Ben Chail — Google review
Beautiful place.
Interesting library. Too bad you have to reserve a place in advance to actually be able to enter the library.
Marc V. — Google review
In terms of the monastery itself there are several cathedrals that are free to enter in Prague that are just as nice and you are able to walk more inside and are not restricted to just looking in through a few meters past the opening entrance such as here.
You need to pay for a pretty expensive ticket I think like €13 each to see the gallery/library. The gallery has some cool chalices/staffs and older paintings, but the library although it looks very nice you are again restricted from only seeing at the entrance and not able to explore inside. If you have seen the Trinity College library in Dublin you would not find this impressive. I think if you pay more money you can get a tour where you can actually walk inside. And you have to pay more money for photos as well. There is a really cool observation tower and nice views nearby the monastery though so I do recommend walking by this area but unless you have unlimited money to spend I don’t think it’s worth the entrance fee at this monastery to be honest based on what you can see for free elsewhere in the city.

Uphill walk, reserving a tour recommended. When we were there, all the globes were unfortunately lined up so it was difficult to see them all. The lady in the gift shop was very friendly. She had a stamp for visitors to mark their cards. I asked if she would stamp my journal. She just handed me the inkpad and the stamps and told me to go ahead. Great experience. Do visit the art gallery. Many rooms, great art, quiet, might not be the best place for small children. Pictures below.

Wonderful monastery, containing three diferent areas (all on one ticket) the chapel, the library and the convent
The chapel was closed for a service so we could only enter into the rear area. This still provided great views.
The next section is the most well known area, the library. The libary is made up for two stunning area's. Unfortunately you can only stand at the door way and not actually enter. It is still non the less unmissable.
The last area seems to be missed out by the other tourists visting when I went. The convent is situated a short walk away from the other two areas. It is over two levels, the ground floor allows access to the original rooms of the monastery which are stunning and left me in awe. There are also toilets which may provide relief to people wanting to continue onto the castle or observation tower. On the second floor is a vast and varied art collection. These are mainly religious art works but are of a great historical significance.
Nic Milligan — Google review
It is preferable to get a ticket for three locations at once as it turns out to be cheaper. Unfortunately, everything can be viewed from the entrance doors. It’s all fenced off. There is a fascinating exhibition of antique books in the library. An interesting art gallery is also available. There is an incredible courtyard next to the gallery, a captivating view of the city. Additionally, there is a pub on the premises where you can grab a bite to eat. I recommend trying the ribs in a sweet marinade. However, make sure to tally up your bill independently as they tried to deceive us.

Two great libraries. I couldn't go inside, but I was able to take photos from the entrance.
The hallway-like room that connects the library is filled with specimens and globes, and there are no tours, so you can look around freely.
When I left the monastery from the exit towards the old town, the view opened up and there was a downhill slope with a good view, and I was glad to take a breather on a roadside bench.

OK, the library is indeed beautiful, but other than that it's not worth the price - we couldn't see the temple at all - only through glass and two(!) grids, standing at the very entrance.
It's much better to just walk around the park.

Uncrowded peaceful place to visit, and has a very good bar brewery with lovely food. If the brewery is busy, there is a beer garden just to the right, with much more seating etc.

Beautiful place. Very peaceful. The view of the city is exceptional! The library is a bit over rated i think, you can’t even go inside.

Very pretty library. You can’t walk into the actual space but you can take a picture and there is a cool exhibit before the main room. I really enjoyed the visit and the entire monastery is very nice.
Etel Sverdlov — Google review
It is a beautiful place, we have bought a combined ticket to see the art gallery, the church and the library. I was disapointed not to be able to see the church and the library, as you are only allowed to watch the inside from the entrance, there isn't even a small corridor inside for people to take a closer look, which is a pitty because both the church and the library seem very impressive.
Adriana Maria — Google review
If you can get a private tour in advance, book it. The library is incredible. We could only see it from the outside, but it still looks amazing. Luckily they also have lots of pieces outside for you to see, along with signs in English. The ceiling is the thing to notice and admire, along with the books of course.
Mini Rag — Google review
You're not allowed to enter those beautiful rooms, but I actually find it ok like that, the curators take good care of the preservation of this beautiful library
Mariana B — Google review
When we arrived at the entrance / ticket selling reception, we were told that the tickets are now sold outside next to the bus station, which is time wasting.
They should have put up a sign way ahead so that visitors would know before they walk all the way to the entrance, and they would not need to walk back out and buy tickets and then walk back in again.
Kero Chan — Google review
It is well preserved. The ceiling is well painted. Paintings are fabulous. The view is spectacular!

Lucky enough to book the private tour. I am the only person in the tour. Ivana was brilliant in explaining the meaning of the paintings and information of the libraries and use of some furnitures. I would definitely recommend doing a private tour.

Definitely one of the best places to visit. Try to get a private tour of the libraries so you can go inside vice looking in from the door. Also recommend taking the gallery tour in the back of the Basilica.

Loreto is a historical landmark in Prague that is often overlooked due to its location off the beaten path. The church features gilded ornamentation and wall-to-wall frescoes, making it a tourist attraction for devout believers.
We liked the hotel. It's situated in the historical part of Prague, and costs not very much. Interiors are great, interesting, and everything is clean. The breakfast was great, rich choice of food. And very pleasant lady at the reception made us feeling so comfortable we didn't want go away. Definitely will stay there again and recommend it our friends.

it is very beautifull and full of history. I recommend viewing it, as it is very big and with pretty views and also frescoes are good qualities. just be carefull because they charge photographing for 100€ and if you are a student you pay less with isic card

Not particularly impressive, as far as historic European religious sites go. I didn’t realize until I was there, that the whole top floor is renovated and therefore contemporary and unoriginal. You can see an original chapel, and that’s about it. You can hear the carillon, but you can’t go up there either. A lot of fees, too…in addition to the ticket fee, there is a fee to take photos, and another fee to use the bathroom. Plus the gift shop lady was really pushy. The whole thing just felt very touristy and like they were trying to get every koruna out of me that they could. It didn’t have the sacred, tranquil feeling I expect in these types of places. If you are actually a Christian seeking spiritual experiences in Prague, this is definitely not the place for it.

Obsessed with this place - quiet, beautiful, little surprises around each corner. Really recommend spending 45mins-1hr here just taking it all in. The Loreto is included as part of the Prague Cool Pass.
We were initially not going to visit it because it was quite far from where we were staying. However, we were sightsighting and before we knew it, we strolled pretty close to Loreto and decided to visit.
We are very glad we did because the church was very beautiful. You can tell there was a lot of history behind the walls.
Definitely visit if you're ever in Prague. The history is quite fascinating.

Loreta is gorgeous inside and out. The stairs in the garden are very aesthetic. Every detail is beautiful. Loreta consists of a cloister, the church of the Lord’s Birth, the Santa Casa and a clock tower with a famous chime. The construction started in 1626 and was finished in 1931. The architect is Italian Giovanni Orsi. The baroque façade was designed and added years later by architects Christoph Dientzenhofer and Kilian Ignaz Dientzenhofer.

Loreta is a pilgrimage destination in Hradčany, a district of Prague, Czech Republic. It consists of a cloister, the church of the Lord’s Birth, the Santa Casa and a clock tower with a famous chime The chapel is most known for its peal, heard since August 15, 1695. It was constructed during 1694 by watchmaker Peter Neumann from thirty smaller and larger bells.
Today the building also houses a large collection of liturgical tools, mainly monstrances. Exhibitions are occasionally held on the first floor of the cloister. We spent an hour there, staff is very nice and helpful.
