Itzurun is a sandy beach with towering cliffs that extend into the sea, making it a popular spot among surfers. The area is also notable for its scenic caves that are easily accessible and offer opportunities for exploration. While there is limited parking near the beach, visitors can find free spots within a short walking distance. It's an attractive destination for everyone, not just Game of Thrones fans who appreciate its beauty as seen in the show's first episode of season seven.
Love this beach! Sea was clear and lovely, there is enough shade because of the rocks. There is a public toilette and showers and you need maybe 10 minutes from the bus station to reach it. A little bar on the edge has coffee, drinks and snacks.

This is one of my favorite beaches in Gipuzkoa. Parking is pretty easy, park around Amaia Plaza, pay at one of the machines, then walk a few blocks straight to the beach. There are bathrooms and a small restaurant. The beach is smaller than others but the sand is soft and there are plenty of people to watch as well as beautiful views to enjoy.
Angela Castañeda — Google review
An amazing beach with unique geological formations that lets you see the individual layers of the adjacent cliffs. Not crowded at all when I visited in late March. A few surfers and some people with doggos. Fantastic views and landscapes.
Emil Oprisa — Google review
It's a lovely beach with nice hiking routes around. If you want to get here, it's better to park in the free parking called "Parking Zumaia" which is on the dock yard where the boats/ships are docked. It's a 15 mins walk from the parking spot to the beach. It's hard to drive up close to the beach as there are no public parking spots and most are one way streets.
Sree Ch — Google review
I was expecting a throwaway Game of Thrones tourist site, but the views and the beauty of the beach is spectacular. Parking is a little complicated unless you are just there for a couple of photos.
Eugene Ong — Google review
We came here because of Game of Thrones episode 1 season 7th, very beautiful beach and also nice caves around in which you can walk in and explore inside, if you want free parking near to beach you need to pass through mark no entry only for hotel visitors, but than it's very easy to find free place and to beach you will walk maximum 5 minutes.
Martin Štoder — Google review
An absolute lovely sight with all the cliff area. I only found out after that it is a Game of Thrones sight. It‘s an attraction for everyone and not just GoT fans.
Hang out a little, watch the surfers and breathe in the ocean breeze... 👌🏼

Itzurun Beach is one of the most spectacular areas. Its huge and the vertical cliffs and the limestone walls that reach the 150 metres of slope will attract visitors, where they will be able to admire a geological phenomena called flysch caused by the erosion of the sea throughout the years. Public services avaliable, as well as life guard.
San Telmo Ermita is a historic clifftop chapel from the Renaissance, featuring an ornate wooden altar added in the 18th century. It crowns the cliff overlooking Itzurun beach, known for its beneficial properties due to high iodine concentration. The chapel was also headquarters of the brotherhood of San Telmo mareantes in the 17th century.
It is worth the walk up to the San Telmo Ermita. Once you arrive, the cliff side view is spectacular! It is a good opportunity to take outstanding photos.

A simple little basilica located in a spectacular landscape atop a cliff overlooking the beach and the bay of biscayne.
Emil Oprisa — Google review
Located on the Itzurun beach and on a cliff, the small hermitage of San Telmo is dedicated to the patron saint of sailors. Inside, there is a Rococo altar from the 18th century, made of wood without polychrome or gilding. There are images of Santiago and Santa Clara next to it. The first written records of this hermitage date back to 1540. In the 17th century it was the seat of the San Telmo brotherhood

Monte Igueldo is a hillside located to the west of San Sebastian's city center. The area boasts numerous attractions, including an amusement park with old-world charm and a funicular railway that provides incredible views of the bay. Additionally, visitors can enjoy a stunning lookout point and take peaceful walks in the surrounding natural beauty. Those looking for family-friendly activities will appreciate the small carnival on site.
Nice journey with the funicular to the top of the Igueldo Mountain where you can admire the spectacular view of San Sebastian and enjoy a meal or a coffee.
Loredana Luca — Google review
Super nice view, that’s all as this s mostly a lil park for kids to run around. The funicular isn’t worth the >1 hour wait but I insisted as I thought I d be able to enjoy the ride, I was wrong. Overall attractions aren’t attractive, and the only hotel restaurant to avoid. There is though a lil bar on the side selling refreshments at half of the prices and queue, if needed rather go there. I mean, it’s a must go but you may be disappointed
AiNe eNiA — Google review
Easy level trekking (more like walking), easier if you have car 😁.
Loved the views. There is small entrance fee and also the other activities for which you have pay small amount but for one time experience I think it’s okay. It’s best place for kids, the park is full of games and stuff for kids.
Pallavi Parab — Google review
Great views and trails but nothing much on the top itself. Enjoy the ride up stopping at the various points along the way.
Osvan Salinas — Google review
One of the best views in San Sebastian. It's a quick and cheap ride up on the funicular and the stunning view is well worth the trip. There's also a small carnival that would be fun for families.
Nate Chavin — Google review
What makes this mountain so special (compared to the other ones) that you have to pay 2.50€ for entrance?
Garreth Conner — Google review
Beautiful view of San Sebastián, definitely recommend we rode bikes up some parts were quite narrow but ultimately a leisurely ride!
Haizearen orrazia is a well-known tourist attraction, famous for its contemporary iron sculptures that contrast brilliantly against the natural landscape and sea. The area offers a breathtaking experience with its powerful air vents that make visitors feel the force of nature around them. It's an ideal spot to jog, meditate or simply admire the imposing sea complemented by Donosti's beautiful cityscape.
Nice spot to go for a run, meditate or simply be delighted by the imposing sea and the nature around it complemented by the beautiful city of Donosti all around.

A beautiful place. The view from here to the sea is just amazing. We spent little time there and returned.
Ajesh Kunnel — Google review
This secluded little spot in San Sebastián/Donostia really lives up to its name. On very hot days it's simply refreshing - insanely enjoyable breezes course through here, which makes it really comfortable as a place to rest after a long walk.
Javier Troncoso — Google review
Loved everything about this sculpture and park. Beautifully situated in a amazing location where land meets sea. Inspires though and reflection where one can see, feel, taste, and hear the power of the sea.
Kevin — Google review
A perfect place to 'get away'. There is a nice breeze for a hot day. Nice view and plenty of room to sit - need to bring food and drinks though. Gives a nice view of the beaches and a good walk. There is a restaurant as well.
Paul van den Berg — Google review
Extraordinary execution by the sculptor Chillida in a strategic corner of San Sebastián. Fantastic place surrounded by the wind and the sea to watch the sunset in the company of nearby people who really matter to us.
Eric “ericgarda” — Google review
I have been here for about 3 hours only, but it was like no other place else, great city views, great beach views, great waves' sounds.
Not enough words to describe this place, but I post here some photos that will say much more than the words.

The engineering feat of this iron trio is remarkable! Sculptor Eduardo Chillida designed the metal works and architect Pena Ganxhegui designed the cobbled stone viewing area which includes breathing holes and open spaces enabling water to burst thru during high tide.

The historic quarter of Donostia-San Sebastian, known as Old Town, is a vibrant area with numerous tapas and pintxo bars lining its narrow streets. This lively neighborhood is flanked by the Urumea River, Mount Urgull, and Concha Bay. The Plaza de la Constitución is at the heart of this district, which was once a bullring and now hosts the Tamborrada drum festival.

Urgull is a historic military site turned lush green paradise, known as one of the three lungs of the city with panoramic ocean and city views. Visitors can explore winding paths, hidden staircases, overgrown statues and remnants of mosaic tile floors surrounded by nature. The highlight is the impressive Christ statue which offers stunning Instagram-worthy views. A light walk to reach it takes visitors through crowded areas with a halfway bar offering nice views. Sturdy shoes and water are recommended for this journey.
I’d recommend hiking around sunrise.. Went in the winter and it was beautiful and warm in the sun.

May 2023
A nice walk to the top with an amazing view of the city, especially on a clear day. We started our walk from the city centre and then went down on the other side. We were completely lost. We ended up in the port area, and it wasn't too easy to find out way back. You know the streets are crazy and nothing east/west, north/south. Always on a diagonal or curving. A taxi ride back to our starting point saved us. Always an adventure!
K P — Google review
Magical place with winding pathways, hidden staircases, overgrown statues, and remnants of mosaic tile floors being taken back by nature. It's about the journey and not the destination. Wear sturdy shoes and bring water.
Rae Siebels — Google review
Beautiful scenic view from the top. Worth the relatively quick walk. You don't need hiking shoes but flip flops won't do. You could probably summit in 30-40 minutes, but I'd suggest a leisurely hour each way.
Audrey Kim — Google review
Fantastic panoramic views of the city. A must see on your first visit. Try to climb on a clear, sunny day to best experience it all. You would be mad to not enjoy a beverage on top!
Michael Johns — Google review
You can take a light walk and get up to the monument of Jesus Crist. There is a bar half way, with a nice view. Take into account that it is crowded.
Celeste Lorenzin — Google review
Stiff walk to the top and worth the effort. Lovely view to the island in the middle of the bay, to Monte Igueldo (a nicer walk than the funicular on the other side of the bay) and across the town
David Crowe — Google review
If you are in the city for a couple days make sure you go there and enjoy beautiful views of the city, sea and the mountains. You can easily rest and sunbathe but dont forget to take some water with you before climbing!

The Aquarium de San Sebastian is a modern oceanographic museum located in the Old Town of San Sebastián, Spain. It features exhibits on local fishing and naval history as well as marine life from all over the world. The Aquarium was renovated in 2008, making the dreams of small children come true with specimens of "Nemo" from the film of the same name. Adults are also delighted to vastly improve their knowledge of marine environments through tours and interactive exhibits.
Very nice place to learn about local sea habitats and history of the city. Recommend for both kids ans grown up.
Stav Gizunterman — Google review
Great mix of museum and aquarium tanks.
First you will learn about the first time humans sailed around the earth, followed by local fishing and boat racing tradition. Then they switch to natural history ans slowly move towards the fish in the aquarium. Especially the 1.8 million liter tank with local fish is amazing. Can recommend a visit.
Arno Fry — Google review
Outstanding aquarium! My grandchildren really enjoyed it. Lots to see and experience. There is a large area with exhibits to learn things about sea life, then lots of living exhibits. There are also some interactive exhibits for the kids. The walk through glass aquarium is excellent. I also felt that the price was very reasonable.
Christopher Acarregui — Google review
Fabulous aquarium. Loved the aquatic tunnel and the added ship museum for historical context. Great place to spend with family.
M QR — Google review
Great fun especially with kids. First floor is a maritime ⚓ museum. Later on you'll have the aquarium. Please be aware the tunnel is only 2m high in the center.
Philip Van Mechelen — Google review
the aquarium is rather small, you’d see more as like a museum to be honest as there s basically only one big pool to see fishes for 14€ per adult. Thing is, it gets super noisy as s overwhelmed with families with little kids screaming around, so I personally couldn’t enjoy my time so much. Still worth for an hour of a rainy day
AiNe eNiA — Google review
It's quite expensive considering what you can see inside. There's no much variety of animals inside: some jellyfish, fishes, seahorses, sharks and no much more. The other half of the visit is about boats and fishermen. 13€ for a visit of around 60mins.
David Pordomingo — Google review
On this very rainy, cold day, we decided to visit the aquarium here in San Sebastián. It’s quaint, easily done in 1-1.5 hrs. The first half is maritime history, followed by the actual aquarium portion. Nice activity out of the rain, although a bit cramped when everyone has the same idea. Tickets are a bit steep at €14 without options for family of 5, etc.
Heather B — Google review
We visited the aquarium on a day when the weather wasn't particularly good. What a fantastic and informative experience. Learnt a lot more of the history of Donostia-San Sebastian. Great displays and the marine life of display was amazing.
Great for all ages.
Simon Piles (Si Piles) — Google review
Nice aquarium. It’s also a ship/fishing/whaling museum. Big enough that it never gave me the feeling it was busy. (Mid summer vacation). Entree fees are good for what you get. Near the old town of San Sebastián and surrounded by good restaurants.
Guus Stavenuiter — Google review
A really fun aquarium to visit for both locals and tourists. There is a very range of sealife including sharks, colourful fish, seahorses and even strange looking fish. The aquarium is well designed so that visitors see a lot throughout the experience. The aquarium also offers a sneak peak into the naval history of the area with cool 3rd figures of ships and accompanying historical narratives with interesting facts. A very entertaining visit and it's also English friendly.
Davey Wang — Google review
A good place to visit. I was not expecting the maritime museum part, so that was a bonus. Nice displays all through, with a remarkable tunnel.
John G — Google review
It was too expensive and too crowded. It only had 1 elevator to move between the floors. If you bring a stroller, it will be quite tiring waiting for the elevator. It was like a maze. There were places you could miss if you don't pay attention.
Kleopatra Papaj — Google review
Such a WELL DONE aquarium! The lady at the ticket counter was friendly and they have free cubbies for shopping bags and backpacks. They have models of ships, bones, shells, and so many cool animals!! The whole thing is laid out well and has lots of opportunities for being up close with the fish and sea creatures. I especially liked the auditorium where people can sit and watch the huge tank of fish (see if you can find the two eels) and the tunnel under the shark tank. I saw a bunch of new animals and had a blast! It was a great rainy day activity and I'm so glad I didn't miss it!
Rebecca L. — Google review
oh my, what a beautiful hidden gem!! they start with a nice history of this fishing town, their ships and boats, sports, animals, and then go to this amazing fish tanks.

Yara Caspell — Google review
A must do. A fabulous experience. Lots of things beyond the aquarium. Really interesting maritime history of the area and stunning miniature dioramas. Main tank with sharks is outstanding. Gift shop is disappointing. Poor quality fridge magnets, very few things with aquarium name on it and no guide book. 14 Euro for adults...absolutely worth it.
True Adventure — Google review
Wow... this Aquarium educates viewers on the importance and impact the ocean has on this northern part of Spain. The ocean provides the livelihood for many residents in Spain for centuries. It still does today, as well as the showing the many activities in the ocean even today. Breathtaking aquarium and sea life in sparkling tanks... fascinating to see the divers feed the fish... one of the best aquariums we have ever been to! We could spend days here and still not take it all in! The model ships are a true gem!

La Concha beach is a sandy and shell-shaped beach located in the Bay of La Concha in San Sebastian, Spain. It is one of the most popular beaches in the city and features restaurants and more. The beach stretches over a kilometer and a half from Miramar Palace down to the town hall close to Old Town (Parte Vieja).
Beautiful beach with nice clear water. Perfect escape for a quick swim. Be aware Atlantic Ocean is quite cold 😅😅. Really busy during sunny days.

La Concha is my one of my favorite beaches in the world. Id even go as far as saying its 10 times better then any beach in my hometown state of California. Clean white sand, plenty of space, and clear warm water. Perfect place for a couple days of relaxation and contemplation. Facilities include:
*showers and footwash stations
*benches and rentable chairs/umbrellas
*bars and restaurants
*life guards
*bathrooms
Anything not listen is within a block away. There were no pushy hustlers or obnoxious guests our entire stay at the beach. We absolutely look forward to returning.

What an amazing beach! It is such a beautiful thing to have such a great beach right in the city centre. It was crowded when the weather was good but nothing too wild. Sea is clean and bright, sand is soft. They have all the facilities you might need, lockers, showers, toilette.

Mesmerizing beach to sunbath, recharge your batteries and taking a cold swim.
At the beginning nearer to the city it's more crowded to the end less, but the sand is also more rough there.

Gorgeous beach in Donostia!! The tide makes a big difference in how much of the beach is exposed. There is almost none available at low tide! There are a bunch of staircases down to the beach, lots of benches and a nice (well-lit) side walk to walk alone the cove from the street level. The beach offers great views of the hills, the water, the sailboats and the row of buildings behind. Don't forget to spend some time just taking it all in!
Rebecca L. — Google review
Very large and wide city beach. For surfing the spot is rather unsuitable because the waves outside must be very large, so that in the protected bay surfable waves arrive.

Iconic beach in the heart of the city. It was packed but it didn't feel like we were on top of each other.

As a beautiful beach. . La Concha beach... Concha is in spanish language, means is seashell as similarity of the shape. As famous beach, many people enjoy the beach, you can just seat on park bench with the beach view or taking a stroll or do sport. Alongside the fine golden sand with its lenght more than 1.300 metres makes perfect beach for barefoot walk. It is also well-equipped and offers all sorts of services such as toilet, locker & changing room, and lifeguards if summer.

Somewhat crowded when it's sunny and warm but considering it's in the city center. Beautiful view of the harbour, Santa Clara Island. The water is clean and not as cold as expected from the Atlantic Ocean. There are changing rooms free of charge under the board walk. Plenty of bars and restaurants.
Brian Tran — Google review
Probably one of the most beautiful beaches I've ever been to. We were there in October, the weather was perfect - chilly enough to wear a windbreaker, and warm enough at times to have a t-shirt on. The beach is shaped like a crescent moon, and it literally feels like you're walking on a postcard. The waves were super tiny, given the position of the coastline, so walking right up to the water line with your shoes isn't a problem. If you visit this city, then you'll surely go to this beach - it's a hot spot for tourists.

Beautiful crystal clear water much better than on the Mediterranean side.

Very impressed. All the staff are bright young things who speak excellent English and are very enthusiastic. You feel very welcome.

Surprised by the total score on this attraction. We almost didn't go because of that. But it rained... A lot... And we had to keep busy... So we booked it online, and really enjoyed it! 5 of us, including 3 students of 14, 20 and 22 years old. Really liked the 40 minutes movie Antarctica, and the virtual trips amongst the sharks and other sea animals. Very relaxing. The attraction 16 "Seaborg" was great too. Not impressed by the attraction 15 "Surf sensation 5D"though... Didn't really get what was the point of it... For me, not worth the wait... Everything else was great. Had lunch on site. Simple but good. Ended up spending 4 hours there. Definitely very good value for money! Thank you!

Interesting church. The boat hung from the ceiling signifies relationship of the church and town with the sea. The balconies were for the men to use. The women were on the ground floor where they were closest to the graves in the floor which were there responsibility. This is a typical Basque arrangement. Very special place. With at least a quick visit fur the atmosphere.

Rue Léon Gambetta, 64500 Saint-Jean-de-Luz, France
Early 1900s cog railway to a summit with views of the Basque Country, the coast & the Pyrenees.
Beautiful rack and pinion train up the mountain with lovely scenery on the journey. The views from the top were breathtaking and we were pleasantly surprised that bar prices were very reasonable.
Admired those that chose to walk or cycle up the mountain.

The climb and descend has beautiful views, even if the top is covered in clouds. You'll see valley's and wildlife.
Ascending and deceding are booked together, departure 2h apart. Ride itself takes 35minutes. At the top, there's a restaurant and souvenir shop.
The experience is definitely to be rated high. But the relatively high cost will make you consider doing the trajectory by hiking (though hiking is though, very time consuming and not for kids).

Amazing view.. Got there by train and walking down slowly. It took 2 hours and a half to get back to parking. Roads are rough and little slippery, because of dry sand on rocks.. I recommend to wear proper shoes for hiking.

Train Ride up the mountain called la Rhune.
Ended up on top in Spain! It's the Pyrenees.
A lot of clouds somewhat put a damper on the experience.
The train itself had open carriages with some kind of curtains in case of rain.
Fairly steep ascent, so try to sit looking forward on the way up.
It was nonetheless a fun activity with a restaurant and ubiquitous souvenir shop at the summit.

Well worth doing g this great trip up the mountain. The train itself was fascinating- wonderful feat of old engineering. Try to go up on a clear day for the best view but the scenery is so beautiful on the way up and down you won't be disappointed whenever you go. The dogs loved it too.

The 30 min train journey gave us a fantastic opportunity to tackle a long, arduous climb to the top of de La Rhune, saving energy to descend from the top and hike all the way to Biarriatu. The old, but well preserved cog train wove up and down the mountain side until we reached the very top to enjoy spectacular views. There are a couple of restaurants and cafes to sit down and relax and you have one whole hour to do so before the departure back. However, you can also choose to hike back to the village of Sare or just like us, descend to Biarriatu, a lovely village, the other side of the mountain. It's easier to book the train fare online (€22 per person for a return ticket. Sadly, they don't sell single fares in case you decide to hike down like us). Booking online also saves you time queueing to buy one at the train station.

Fun traintrip to the hills with a beautiful view of the Atlantic Ocean and cities like Biarritz, Saint-Jean le Luz.
Lars Bemelmans (Lab77 Fotografie) — Google review
Great views of the surrounding area with a few places at the top to get something to eat or drink. It helps if you have a head for heights as some sections are quite steep and some hair raising drops. Once you have your ticket they like you to wait 15 to 20 minutes before the train pulls into the station. Benches are provided and toilets are available.

GREAT afternoon out..train journey about 35 mins. Fun ride up in the mountains and the view at the top is fabulous. You need to book as it is busy,a little less so later in the day.

A wonderful drive up from Saint Jean de Luz.
Was €19 per Adult return.
It's a long way up so a return is good.
Was a lovely old train that pulled us up the mountain took Judy over half an hour.
What amazing views on the way up and at the top.
Would definitely recommend going on this ride.😃
Kerry Stallard — Google review
Take very seriously the cautions about the mobility needed to get out and wander at the top of the mountain. There is a climb of easily six flights up to do via steep ramp or steps with a low handrail to get to the higher viewing point. That said, staff confirm that you can ride up, stay on the train and enjoy the view (or poetic cloud mass) until the train goes back down. Still so worth doing!
Global Youth and News Media — Google review
A slow paced 'cog and pinion little train' to the summit of the Rhune mountain.
Beware the parking is very busy so best to park your car in one of the 2 unofficial carpark that you arrive at before the main carpark if you are on a later train. The trains start at 8.30am so the main carpark fills up very quickly.
There is a free toilet at the bottom station, a cafe and restaurant at the summit (toilets are €0.50) which does a fantastic hot chocolate, plus a souvenir shop.
Entertainment was local traditional music on the day we went. Unfortunately the mountain was in the cloud the day we visited so we couldn't see the exceptional panorama but it was still worth the trip.
The summit can be chilly, as can the carriages as they have open windows, so be sure to take waterproof coats and a jumper. If it rains you will get wet. Although we were in the cloud, we didn't really get wet, just damp, so it's only a problem if it actually rains.
After your journey there is a takeaway food point plus a restaurant a little further up the road and a large souvenir shop as well.

Great ride lovely views. Be sure to pick a clear day. The ride up takes about 45 minutes I think. The are lovely views all the way up and if you are lucky you will see wild life especially birds like the vulture which was hanging about when we were there. There are two residents and bars at the to with a tourist shop. Decent food given the place not too expensive.

An absolute must in your trip to this part of France, in the Basque Country. An amazing experience. This little cozy train that is coming from other times is taking you to the top of the mountain. The view is breathtaking. You witness the splendor of nature and landscape all the way.
The train is very well maintained, clean, shiny, cozy and safe. Perfect organization of the team along the way, to keep passengers safe and enjoy a beautiful experience.
I recommend booking the tickets online, in advance and be there earlier as parking can be an issue in a busy day.

Limestone massif with caves & a museum on bats, plus a park of reconstructed prehistoric monuments.
Impressive! I highly recommend a visit. The guide was extremely kind and even took the extra-step of giving us Spanish material for us to read although the tour we booked was in French. The visit is well-planned, the place breathes history throughout and in general we enjoyed our time a lot. Merci!

Incredible cave, gigantic, millions of years old, light show with a tour, bonus: dolmens and very small museum on site. That cave is so worth seeing, that's why you can't take pictures inside.

The tour guide started by asking us if we had questions, without explaining anything... and you don't know what you don't know.. the cave however was beautiful to visit and sparked interest in the neolithic period, the tour felt rushed though and I wish our our guide explained more about anything related to the neolothic culture and loving conditions. This can be your cool hideout during a hot summer. You may want to combine this with the train on the Rhune (15min driving apart).
14:00 was proven to be a great time: we had a smaller group, so easier explanation by the guide. We could still catch the last trains after, which were definitely less crowded.
The concept and guidance is done well and compensates for a relatively small parcours. You'll get several unexpected views... and animals!

High-quality public albergue in most aspects. The Dutch church volunteers are kind but a bit like the boot camp drill sergeants, especially on assigning the beds - strictly sequential, no consideration whatsoever of the gender, couple, or groups. Third weeks into offseason camino albergues and mostly flexible bed assignment, I was first surprised and even little annoyed by their attitude/behavior, but now think that may be a good thing for setting the mood for the whole camino journey haha

Wonderful monument of Navarese medieval culture and architecture of XIV century. Don't forget to visit the cloister where you are going to find the tomb of Navarese Knight Enel Omorio who died in 1393. Through the cloister you can get in to the Chapel where the Royal Navarese Mausoleum is and where you are going to find the tomb of King Sancho VII of Navarre who totally crashed Moors at famous battle of Las Navas de Tolosa. King was the real giant two meters and seven centimeters tall. So, entire complex is one of the greatest national monuments of the Kingdom of Navarre. There is also small museum dedicated to medieval Navarese culture where you can find two maces of beginning of XIII century. Alas! This part of the Kingdom of Navarre was conquered and annexed by the Kingdom of Aragon in 1512.

The church, a former pilgrim's hospice, is one of the most impressive examples of French gothic architecture. Built in the 13th c. by the Navarran King Sancho VII el Fuerte, it now plays host to his tomb. You can enter the cloisters and the tomb by paying EUR 2.50. I attended the 8pm pilgrims mass while I was there during my camino.

Interesting castle in beautiful surroundings with a handy hotel at about 150 metres distance for drinks or whatever. We arrived about two minutes before their last admission for the day at 6:30pm (fairly early for Spain?) We received a good welcome despite this. There are quite a few steps for the elderly, but they're all pretty clear to see and the people kept smiling as we made our slow progress through the whole building.
There are tableaux of St. Fransico Javier's journeys and times. Best are perhaps the tower and the original chapel.

Good place to spend a day with children. If your children like animals, they will have a wide variety of animals to see. The rides are fun, and here I mention the Bobsleigh, the tubing and the self drive boats. On the negative side, this Parc is huge and there are large distances to be covered. If you are with small children, they will get tired pretty fast. The day we went it was very crowded too, so there was a lot of queueing up to get to the rides, anywhere from 15 minutes to almost an hour for the bobsleigh. Parking is free but quite far away, if you want to park closer to the Parc, you pay 9 euros for a day in a parking place that is not only nearer to the entrance but your car is also protected from the sun.

Sendaviva is a great place to spend the day with your kids. It's very family friendly and perfect for younger children. Kids over 10 would probably get bored pretty quickly. I didn't see any of the shows. It was a hot sunny day, so all of the water attractions were really popular. The prices were pretty fair in comparison with other amusement park type places. There was really only one main eating place which was decent. The only real complaint (and reason for the 4 stars) was the lack of staff. The ice cream/slushy station had a really long line and the poor guy working had a lot of grumpy people to deal with. There was like one person working each attraction and most of the workers seemed less than thrilled to be there. That being said, the bumper boats guy was great! We will definitely go back again. But maybe in the fall when it won't be meltingly hot.

Great place to take kids you've got various attractions and animals .The only problem is the food they don't let you enter with food, on the second day we bought the food at one of the restaurants and it cost over 50 euros for 2 adults and 2 children, it's was the same type of food as if you went to McDonald's but double the price. The spectacular is not worth the effort

Great tour with a lot of good information! It’s not overdone and you have time to see the things you want to. The organ at the end was the best part!

In my experience it is a beautiful place in which you can learn the history about the monks and how they lived in the past.
In the tourist office they take care of you very well and also they explain everything you need. But in my opinion if you go with children they are not going to understand some words. However I highly recommed visiting the monastery of Fitero.

(Translated by Google) Very interesting guided tour where we toured the different areas of the convent: church, chapels of the ambulatory, sacristy, cloister, we also went up to the top. Thanks to a computer application we were even able to listen to the organ. From the outside it is difficult to see the complex because houses have been built, but from the apse square there is a good view of the header.

Visita guiada muy interesante donde fuimos recorriendo los distintos recintos del convento: iglesia, capillas de la girola, sacristía, claustro, subimos también a la parte superior. We loved it!
Both for the Monastery itself and for the guided tour, 100x100 recommended.
Our guide, Encarna, in addition to being a charming person, gave us all the details, made the visit very enjoyable, a true professional who clearly enjoys her work and knows how to convey it.
Encarna left the finishing touch of the visit for last, which I will not reveal so that you can visit it, it is worth it.

Bardenas Reales is a vast desert region known for its soaring canyons, sandstone cliffs, and rocky outcrops. The Hotel Aire de Bardenas offers a unique stay with its modernist design rising unexpectedly from the rocky earth at the border of the desert. Visitors can explore the area by car, quad, or enduro bikes but should be cautious as some parts are challenging to navigate.
Stunning place!! We explored the Bardenas on bikes. Recommend to go early to beat the crowds and avoid the afternoon heat.

Churches & Cathedrals
Cathedral Santa Maria de la Huerta is a stunning Gothic cathedral with Mudéjar and Renaissance influences. The Diocesan Museum inside the Catedral de San Pedro houses a remarkable collection of Romanesque and Gothic art. After undergoing restoration, the cathedral now offers an impressive experience both inside and out. Visitors can also take a guided tour to learn about its history and contribute to its ongoing restoration efforts. The cathedral's tower provides a great vantage point for panoramic views of the city.
A must do in Tarazona. Visit the cathedral and also you have the opportunity to go up the tower, cimborrio, and have an amazing view of the town. Good guides and organization.

The Aquarium of Zaragoza offers a fascinating look at aquatic life found in rivers around the world. With more than 300 species, it's one of the largest and most popular aquariums in Europe. The tanks hold about two and a half liters of water, symbolizing the primal waters from which life first evolved.

Absolutely superb aquarium. Apparently the largest freshwater aquarium in Europe making it a pretty unusual experience - rivers rather than seawater wildlife. Focusued on the total river ecology (so not only the creatures that live in the water) with a look at the Amazon (of course), the Mekong, the Ebro and the Darling rivers. Superb exhibition. Absolutely loved it.
Fiona Reynolds — Google review
I feel that the Aquarium deserves and needs lots of improvements. For 17€ a person I wasn't 100% pleased.
Edit: I felt that I didn't say anything positive in this review and that's not fair. The aquarium from the outside looks really nice and the surrounding area is really beautiful.
The animals had lots of space and seemed that they are kept in really good conditions.
Some of the things that needs improvement are: scratched (a lot) glass, broken pieces of wood/plastic, more texts and information (in English too).
Tudor — Google review
A bit expensive (18€ Euros for adults) but it’s well worth it! There are lots of fish that aren’t shown in other aquariums, and each exhibition is well explained (in Spanish).

After visiting the Aquarium in Zaragoza while visiting for a few day my husband and I took the opportunity to visit. There were many different fish and endangered animals and although very educational for us to experience these species I was overwhelmed with sadness to see them incarcerated in such confined spaces to their natural habitat. They seemed almost comatosed which impacts on their quality of life.
The alligators and snake were in such small environments for their size and length. I found these sights particularly disturbing and distressing.

The Aljafería Palace is a beautiful and historic Muslim palace in Zaragoza, which dates back to the 11th century. It is used as the seat of the Aragonese parliament, and is one of the city's most important historical landmarks.
This was a very interesting place and we are glad we went. The architecture is fascinating blend of styles that accumulated across its 1000 year history, and there are displays about the geography, flag design, and more.
Be sure to get their app (free) in advance as it has a lot of information and some cool virtual reality experiences. There is very limited signage otherwise.
Also, they have free guided tours daily in Spanish, and free tours during the summer months in English and French.
Michael Schackwitz — Google review
If you love architecture this is a must see attraction.
However be aware that the city of Zaragoza is not good for tourists. You may ask “why?”… well because the whole city decided to take a 4h break during the evening to have what they call siesta.
So basically you can’t tour the city. But anyway great piece of history!
Diego Aquino — Google review
This was a nice late afternoon stop on a hot summer day, interesting rooms to explore and nice architecture details. There was a gravel parking lot toward the back and a nice little park around the grounds. Just be mindful of the time when you go as it is closed between 2:30-4pm.

Tickets sold before the entrance, closer to the street, but there was a guard informing everyone where the tickets are sold not far from the stand.
The fortress is beautiful with lots of interesting details and great inner courtyards out of which two were accessible.
At the end of the tour you will end up in the part they use for the city council (and if you see the screen with the political parties, don't google it).
Djordje Stevanic — Google review
We arrived at the entrance somewhere in the middle of the day. While waiting in line, we heard the guy selling tickets that there are no more places / tickets for sale at the moments. We went to their website, reserved two tickets 30 minutes in advance, we took a small walk around the fortress until the time passed and we returned at the ticket kiosk. We picked our tickets, paid for them and joined the fortress. Therefore I recommend you to buy / reserve tickets in advance. The fortress is beautiful, it displays the impressive architecture of Arabia by the construction of the columns. The rooms of the fortress have beautifully painted and designed ceilings. Overall it took us about 1h to go through the whole fortress. This place is not handicap friendly. There is a free toilet inside and no parking on premises.

Surprised with the visit. Very positive. There was queue just before the museum opened but it was easily managed and moved quickly. We were three and just paid 7€ for a guided visit with a group, really affordable. Our tour guide, Alvaro gave us all the details to understand the whole structure. Although it was extremely noisy and in my opinion, school visits should have specifically reserved slots or even days. It's great cultural place for them to learn but also hard to keep kids on low level of noise when the excitement hits. Other than that, a great day learning about it. Defo a must go when in Zaragoza.

Absolutely amazing! It’s truly worth visiting if you have time! The visit is paid, but it’s worth seeing this beautiful place! Disappointing impressive historic building surrounded by poor urban planning, awful urban buildings around ruin the original meaning of the place, it is also used by the government, they should not use it for hosting government here. Interior furniture does not match the building or history in it, very weird. Visit only if you are in Zaragoza, this had nothing compared to the Alahambra, just the style.

A small but historically significant castle to visit. Interesting process by which to purchase tickets. Reserve a slot online, take your reservation to the ticket booth outside the castle and pay the ticket price either in cash or by card. A hybrid of online booking.

Palace Aljaferia and Parliament of Aragon. Worthwhile to visit. Tour will take about 1.5-2 hours depending upon your level of interest. Limited signage in English. Audio guides are available, but glitchy. Tour guides are available.
Note: Google Maps directs you to a different side of the palace. Instead, get directions to Cafe Corner on Calle de los Diputados and there's not only a parking garage directly across the street, but the entrance and ticket booth to Aljaferia is there as well.

You NEED to make an online reservation first. I assume it’s not as busy outside of the summer months, but I had to come back the next day because I didn’t realize they would run out of tickets. A few other people were in my situation too, so it’s quite common.
I highly recommend one of the guided visits. It really helped appreciate and understand everything we were seeing. There’s one in English at 11 AM and one in French at 5 PM and a bunch in Spanish.
It was a wonderful visit. I really loved everything about it and I spent quite some time there. It’s really cool to see the Muslim palace, the Christian palace in the modern parliament in one place.

Historic building although most of it was destroyed and rebuild and clearly in a way which stands out from the rest. The tour it's self Is listed as guided although it's 100%not. The Aljafería Palace is beautiful. I couldn't help but feel like I was experiencing a mini version of the Alhambra, but with significantly fewer crowds. While many sections have already been restored, the ongoing restoration work doesn't detract from its charm. The palace's exterior is particularly striking, especially during sunset and at night.
